Reviews of Glass Half Full NOLA
Easy glass drop off!
Our first time visit – we drove up and parked in front of the building.
Our company Design The Planet did a glass drive for Earth Day and this was the day we wanted to drop off the glass.
We pulled our collected glass items out of the back of the truck and brought it to the central area.
We sorted all of the glass into the areas that were specified: green, blue, clear, other.
There were even a few people there to direct us if we had questions. Someone also helped us and empty one of the containers because we did bring quite a lot of glass.
They had very organized processes once bins were filled they were closed and replaced and brought into the warehouse.
Really great glass recycling organization in New Orleans. Donation-based drop off, or paid residential/commercial pickup. Glass is used for mulch, residential sandbags, and is even being vetted for use in coastal restoration. Super grateful to have this group doing such good work for our community!
Well organized. There are always volunteers/workers there to assist in sorting the glass into the different containers. I appreciate the display showing the difference sizes of the crushed glass and the applications for each. Everyone there seems to love their work and it’s great we have place in the GNO area to recycle the tons of glass refuse we make!
GHF is not merely a wonderful local effort that cuts emissions, waste streams, and is locally innovative. They are also a group of hardworking folks who spin off inspiration to others. They have helped my small bar business in NC with their experience and university backed research to be able to reduce my own waste. Every city has a different situation and a different solution. GHF has been instrumental in helping me to understand that and providing some practices for us to follow. It helps short-circuit a lot of false-starts and I can now happily say that my bar has diverted almost 100% of its glass into mulch for the last 4 months. Thanks GHF! We are not just the work that we do. We are the alterations we inspire in others.
Absolutely love the concept. Thank you for taking a step forward to solve a problem vs complain and do nothing. I have not actually been to the facility, as I live in FL, but the unhelpful one star reviews that said things like “I don’t know” or confusion about hours really bothered me. It’s a new concept and it’s not going to be perfect, but there will be progress and that’s all that matters. Hours are also clearly posted. This is really to help even out undeserved low reviews that can’t be removed.
I love that we have a direct recycling ♻️ place here in NOLA. I save and clean all my glass containers and bottles.
I didn't take pics because I was so excited!
They have a great facility & are really there to help you out. Glass does need to be prepped & the folks onsite are very helpful. Prepping the glass is worth every bit of it in order to have it turned into all the variations of ground glass...from fine sand to landscape glass. Remove lids & the plastic metal rings around the neck, & sort by color. Pretty easy for what you are doing! They even have a section of free glass. Like cake plates, etc.
Help Louisana shorelines with free recycling! Always helpful with unloading glass and friendly.
outgoing people who are trying to create something good for our city and people while helping eliminate waste and honestly dangers of broken glass. they are always welcoming on drop off days and are making a real effort to expand their operations and help save our coastlines. Check their website, bring your glass, or donate money to their cause.
Super friendly and helpful people! Very easy to recycle glass when brought here. Just need to make sure to separate clear glass from colored glass in the bins and that's it
These folks are doing great work offering a much needed glass recycling service to the city. Free drop off at a location conveniently right off the interstate, you can save up a month's worse of beer/wine bottles or any other glass and drop it off to be reused instead of going into the landfill.
Just note that before heading there they are currently only open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday so make sure to coordinate your glass drop off run with their schedule.
Awesome experience ⭐🎉
So easy eight off highway
Staff was soooo helpful ..
Great all around experience.. Another NOLA project to be proud of!
A++++ ! 🌈
They are expanding so rapidly! They're easy to reach for drop-off (and with an updated vmail msg when they are closed). They even sell the glass at fair prices.
Great place, great people, easy and quick to drop off. So happy that my glass is being recycled and not in our landfills!
It gives me hope that they recycle glass in New Orleans!
The only glass recycling place around. I just wish I didn't have to take the cardboard boxes I bring the bottles in back home
Very welcoming place. Keep up the good work!
Great service! Really quick, right off the highway and staffed with the friendliest people!
Easy, friendly means of helping keep our community clean.
Helpful group of volunteers. Love dropping off my recycled glass.

Doing great things!
Finally, glass recycling in New Orleans post-Katrina. Very "glass roots" organization 🤭 …
So glad they are here to take recycled glass.
Great people doing great work!
Free, friendly and for a great cause.
Glad that this is happening.
Quick and easy deposit if you have your stuff cleaned up and sorted appropriately. Dropped of 3 totes worth full of glass. Friendly service. We will be making this a regular stop. Wish there were more places like this!
