How do I describe Melissa in the simplest way? You will not regret if you work with her, and you will if you don’t. She may just be the best agent you could find in DMV. Period. And you are lucky if you do find her, and that’s already half way success in finding the dream home. I can’t tell you how many times during our home purchase journey I had thought to myself or tell my family “thank goddess we have Melissa”. She is very responsive, professional, knowledgeable, strategic, personal, patient, and also fun! (You’d wonder how one person can have them all?!) The house hunting journey was not easy with my hubby and I had completely different opinions on what we value for the next home, and I’m very picky and detail oriented. Melissa was there to guide us patiently and strategically every step of the way. When things get closer to giving offers, inspection and closing, she helped us made many strategic decisions in avoiding a potential bidding war, get a great thorough inspector who was critical, negotiate for our best interest (you’d be surprised how many agents don’t really do that!) while maintaining good rapport with the seller agent who then did us favors and was accommodating for many requests. She proactively help us save money on title insurance and even “rescued” us when our closing is delayed. She also sent us really sweet and meaningful closing gifts. Melissa is just GOOD. And I want the whole world to know it. If you work with other agent, you might get an agent who help you get a transaction done and never talk again, but with Melissa, you got a partner and a family friend. I honestly won’t know where I would be today if we don’t have her on our side. I recommend her to anyone searching for a great agent without any reservations.

Melissa's knowledge of the area really helped me find a place. I got connected with her through a friend looking to buy a place in Maryland while I was looking in Virginia. She is also licensed in DC. I brought my first home with her and did not expect things to go so smoothly. I gave her parameters and she was able to work with them and adjust as we started seeing places. She was also able to work with my schedule and since I don't have a car was able to drive me from place to place when we saw multiple listings in one day. Once I settled on a place Melissa made the closing process super easy. She even sent me a checklist I was able to go through to make sure that I got everything done. When we found a potential winner, Melissa was able to very quickly put together a video showing for us, and get our offer together in time. We came up with an offer strategy, and our bid was selected. We loved the house, but it required a lot of work. Melissa was amazing, using her relationships with vendors to mobilize a team of contractors to price out all the needed repairs, and help us include them in our budgeted cost of ownership. Once we eventually contracted the work, her recommended vendors did a great job at a fair price. Melissa is an honest and direct negotiator, and helped us figure out the right deal with the seller, taking into account the repairs needed. In the end, we came to a deal that worked for all of us, and got everything fixed up at the new house. Melissa is wonderful to work with, and we can't recommend her enough. It takes a lot of trust to make such a big decision from overseas, and we couldn't have picked a better partner to make it happen.

Words cannot describe the level of dedication I experienced by Melissa Terzis in purchasing a short-sale property in March 2013. Melissa does not push you to buy - if you want to make an offer she won't stand in your way, but if you've made your wish list known she will honor your preferences to a fault. And if you need help thinking outside of what you know, she is poised at making recommendations for consideration. Also, she's not interested in having her clients overpay - under her guidance, we felt balanced in being competitive for the here-and-now and being wise for the long-term. Melissa did not fall off the map after she earned her commission - she has consistently shown interest in making sure we are off to a successful start in our new digs. Melissa is EXCELLENT!! Recently I was in charge of selling a home as a part of an estate. I originally contacted another realtor to do the work since he said he specialized in this sort of thing. Unfortunately, though we had a signed agreement he tried to change the terms and was slow to implement any marketing plan. I contacted Melissa and she was on it! Within an hour I had everything I needed to get the house listed and setup a time to see everything. This was an AS IS sale and to me the house did not look all that great. After I had the house cleaned out she had the photographer come in and they took some amazing pictures! I saw the brochure that was produced and almost did not recognize the house. We had some issues with a past due utility bill during the process ando Melissa was on the phone with me negotiating away all of the fees which reduced the amount due.
