I signed up with Bethany White to sell and also buy a new home after reading several great reviews. I had not had the best experience with my last agent. The whole team was great during this process which was quite stressful in this market, especially when finding a home. We sold our home within 3 days of listing it. Searching for a home was another matter, we were outbid several times. The team was patient and tried to keep us positive. We finally found a home that we were in love with and would have been devastated if we lost it. Bethany White took control of the negotiation on this home and we got our dream home even though it was higher price than we had wanted to pay we told her to make it happen and she did. She managed to get this house for us even though there were 17 other good offers on the table. The agents that showed us the homes and also made appointments for us were all kind and professional. 7/5/22. 5 stars because they sold my house at the price we agreed, and had an offer at the first showing the day after listing, and they were able to get me a 60 day closing (instead of a rent-back) during an extremely fast-paced market. However this was possibly the easiest time in recent history to sell a house. I was negatively surprised I didn’t have more showings (2) and offers (1). I had a mixed experience with the “team” structure that Bethany uses. The listing consultant was great, super friendly and answered my calls on the weekend; the agent who visited the home was also good but the interaction was really only limited to that day; the photographer asked no questions and missed parts of the house (photos were good quality but filtered); Bethany herself only called once and I only called her once prior to going under contract. The transaction coordinator, who I had the most interaction with, was generally cordial, but did not answer on the weekends except a few occasions, generally seemed rushed to get the paperwork done and left items out a few times. At the time of writing this review I have not completed closing paperwork. However, they responded to my intentions well and we got the sale done, and I recognize it was my first time selling a home so I tried to have a full understanding at every step, so I suppose a little friction along the way is tolerable. Thank you to the Bethany White Team for selling my home.

My experience with Bethany is mixed. I only met with Bethany once during the entire time of our contract. Bethany has a dedicated team and they are extremely responsive. They respond quickly to emails and text messages. During our contractual obligation with Bethany, our home sold. This is the good. The bad, we as sellers were expected to cater to the desires of the buyer. To give into their wants and demands. When we refused we were met with the silent treatment and the "in my professional experience" line. We were told to give in and Bethany stated she "would get them in the inspection negotiations". When the inspection was complete, we were told "it is a short list, that is good. You should complete everything on the list." I thought she was representing us, the seller. I thought she was negotiating on our behalf, for our best interests. I thought wrong.

My experience with realtors in general has never been a good one. Our home did sell, that is true. However I feel that we were not always represented on our behalf, particularly in negotiations. At times the interest of the buyers were pushed on us instead of our I interests being fully protected. I got laid off last March and was looking to purchase a rental property to supplement my income...I was looking at possibly Houston, San Antonio, Atlanta, Orlando, Myrtle Beach but decided on Virginia Beach...I decided to go with BHHS and Team Bethany White Team due to their great reviews... Janelle was my point of contact and she did a great job of filtering out the more preferable listings around Virginia Beach and looked up all the possible rental expenses (HOA fees, property insurance, possible rental comparisons) ..She did a great job of providing video tours of 2 properties I was interested in and gave good reminders during the bidding process..(She should be a director!).After my bid got accepted, I worked with the transaction Coordinator, Amanda for the 2nd half of the transaction...The property I made a bid for needed some repairs..I was a little bit freaked out if there was something major..Amanda did a great job of being proactive and sending out a contractor to get an estimate ASAP.. And more importantly, I was really impressed on how she negotiated a credit from the seller for the repairs.....I had a lot of anxiety considering this was a completely remote transaction but everything was smooth sailing when our transaction finally closed..Some people say a disadvantage of going through a larger real estate company is that you don't get the time and attention from their agents since they have more on their hands..I didn't find this to be true...Both Janelle and Amanda always answered all my questions/concerns immediately either by text and phone...I highly recommend Team Bethany White Team and will go to them in the future..

Although I purchased my home with the assistance of this realtor, I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. On more than one occasion, I had to ask if she was working for me or the seller. If the sale hadn't gone through, my intention was to look for another realtor. Now I must say, after letting her know my feelings and speaking to my lender about it, she did seem to listen to my concerns a little better. I felt like it was all about the sale. At one point I even felt like she was pressuring me into something I didn't agree with.
