I have rented from various property management groups in different states and some of these companies have been extremely unprofessional and dishonest. However, Port Property Management is definitely not one of them. Out of all of the property rental companies I have been a tenant for, I can honestly say Port Property has been the best in Maine. They are extremely professional and respectful. From the start, they put zero pressure on having me sign a lease agreement. I asked to see several apartments in the same building without complaint. They are upfront, without any hidden fees or misleading information. They were very helpful right up to the end of my lease. I am more than happy to have rented from this company and would be more than happy to rent from them in the future.

Port Prop went above and beyond for me. I signed into a lease and a week later had issues within the building that conflicted with my career. This wasn’t really Port Prop’s issue but they immediately accommodated my problem and offered me a variety of reasonable options. I feel like they treated me with kindness and patience despite me completely freaking out. On top of that, Port Prop offers easy communication via email and online payment. They hold contests and raffles and their apartments really are well maintained. I don’t care what anyone says- they do a great job and I’m really surprised how at home and personable it feels in their office despite the fact that they own half of Portland, Maine. Lovely apartment, great experience. I was a tenant for many years (Sept 2016 to Mar 2022), and only moved because I decided to purchase a home. Port Property manages with courtesy and professionalism, and always addresses questions/concerns in a timely manner. Awesome maintenance team as well. Nothing but good things to say. One of the best apartment rental experiences I've ever had! I've rented places in several cities and I couldn't be happier with how Port Property manages their units. Specifically, I highly recommend their rentals at Mill Creek Apartments in South Portland! All of their staff is responsive and helpful whenever I call, as well as very understanding. With these crazy rental prices in the Portland area, Port Property is the only reasonable option I've ever seen. Highly highly recommend, but their units rent like hot cakes so get em quick!

During the initial moving phase, my girlfriend and I werent sure what to make of Port Property. Now that we have been renting with them for a year, we have only great things to say about the company. Their strongest advantage is price point. They have beautiful apartments at a reasonable price. My only complaint are that their dryers are extremely subpar (typically a double cycle). Also, open window rules are slightly discouraging. Besides these minor details, we would recommend them to anyone.

Port Property Management has been great to rent from. I've lived in my apartment for 2 years and just renewed the lease for a third. The apartment is clean and well maintained, as are the common areas and grounds outside the apartment. Maintenance has always been very responsive when needed, and the staff in the office are friendly and helpful. It's also very convenient to be able to pay rent online. As long as I continue to rent in Portland, I hope to continue to rent from Port Property Management.

Port Property Management is great! I've been living in my apartment for about 4 years now and it's been great here! Have nice view and daylight in my apartment. I also like that it's easy to pay rent online or submit maintenance issues. Maintenance is always on top of things when there are issues in the building. Building is always kept nice and clean. Customer service is great with Port Property Management. They may be a little strict with the rules, but if they weren't, there would be much more abuse from tenants. All in all, Port Property Management is great to rent from and you'll get great customer service along with a wide selection of great apartments to rent.

I moved from another large building in town to the Lafayette through Port Property management and the change was paramount and instantly noticed. They allowed dogs and even meet the dog to ensure their behavior matches the community standard for other dogs, they actually had a coin machine in the laundry room (you don't notice how convenient this is until you've gone without) and the management and staff are extremely friendly and responsive while maintaining a professional behavior. Their systems are modern and the property manager Mary is the best. Highly recommend anyone rent with them, zero negative feedback

The property manager who handled these apartments, Mary Hayward, was particularly helpful and would always communicate and quickly handle any issue that would arise. I moved to Portland from New Jersey last summer and Port Property Management (specifically, Lindsay Cannon) has really helped to make it a smooth transition. They have been very responsive and a pleasure to communicate with. I live in the Hiawatha and the maintenance man, Jason, has been very quick and efficient whenever I’ve needed something checked inside my apartment. I’ve been really pleased with my living experience at the Hiawatha and I think Port Property Management has done a great job making the tenants feel at home. I've had a positive experience with Port Property. It was easy to schedule multiple apartment viewings in one day, which was important because I was moving from another state. Each of the 4 apartments I was shown was well cared for, updated and clean. I like that their listings are thorough and describe all of the amenities plus a little bit about the neighborhood and parking options. I was also impressed with the staff who was professional and friendly. The apartment I chose is fantastic. I had a minor issue with my lock during the first week I was there and the maintenance staff took care of it within hours of my reporting.

My girlfriend and I have really enjoyed renting from Port Property. After having rented in New York City for nearly a decade this has been a breath of fresh air. The rental process was seamless and overall painless. The property is well maintained and nicely equipped. Management is easy to reach and readily available should you have any issues. We've had one or two minor issues and they were handled quickly. I once sent an email to management and maintenance was knocking on my door within 10 minutes. That's good service! My husband and I have lived in the Hiawatha in Portland, ME for about a year and are very happy with our experience here. The building is in a great location in the city, within easy walking distance of the beach and the Old Port area. All of the common areas, including the hallways and the gym, are kept very clean, and you can tell that management cares about the atmosphere and upkeep of the building. Port Property Management is very easy to get in contact with should you have any questions or concerns. They respond quickly to emails and are always friendly. The apartment itself is nice and new, with clean kitchens, nice cabinets, and convenient laminate wood flooring. There's also a washer and dryer, as well as big windows that provide lots of light. At least where we live, we hardly hear our neighbors. We’ll be sad to move, because living here has been a great pleasure.

I have greatly enjoyed living at my Port Property Management apartment! The rental office is friendly and quick to answer questions. Their maintenance team is very responsive and have fixed minor issues with the apartment quickly, sometimes in the same day the request is submitted. Appliances were brand new and the grounds are kept clean and beautiful, with quick snow removal in the winter. Port Property Management has been excellent to rent an apartment through. I moved to Portland from out of state and the people who I worked with were wonderful with getting me a great apartment. The apartment was completed refurbished prior to my occupancy and it was beautifully redone (hardwood floors, granite kitchen, deep kitchen sink etc). I have been very pleased with my experience as a Port Property Management renter in South Portland. The space offered is great, and is in a fantastic location. The company itself is hard working and accommodating when it comes to changes or problems. My only critique is I believe the majority of the places listed with this site are overpriced considering the amenities listed for some places. If they dropped $100-$200 for pretty much every apartment I would say it's well worth every penny. Regardless, the company is very responsive, easy to communicate with, and fantastic at reaching out with changes.

I have been renting through Port Prop for almost a year. Very responsive and polite staff at the office and my apartment has had almost zero maintenance issues the entire time. When I had an issue with my deadbolt back in January, maintenance staff came out the very next day and fixed it promptly. Most of their apartments are also pet-friendly, which is a huge plus for many tenants with dogs and cats. Highly recommend!

Renting from Port Property has been great. When I was looking for an apartment, I was able to look at a few on one day and found the perfect one. The application process was smooth and quick, and I have enjoyed living in my apartment. The building is well kept and any time I have had to submit a maintenance request, it was completed within a few hours. I went from living in a college apartment complex to here, and talking to management and sorting out questions is 10x easier with PPM. The staff is helpful and considerate. Tenant responsibilities are laid out in your lease, and while there are rules, they are there for a reason and only create a better living environment. I'm glad I'm renting through them!

My wife and I have been renting from Port Property Management for about a year and a half now. We've nothing but good things to say. We were a little hesitant initially to rent from a property management company but we are very glad we went with Port Property. Every employee I've encountered is very kind and helpful, especially the maintenance workers. The couple times we've need to call maintenance, they showed up in a timely manner. Their prices are fair and pretty competitive for Portland considering all the rapidly rising rent prices in the area. Settling into a new city can be tough and after searching for most of last summer for places to rent in a town we knew we wanted to settle in, we found it very easy to work with Port Property. We have a quiet, well behaved, non shedding dog and nobody would rent to us. Port Property met with us and our dog, saw how great he was and then we sorted through a list of places that fit our budget. We were able to choose from several places that we would be comfortable with. I've always avoided property management companies because I've heard horror stories about poor communication, issues with apartments not getting resolved for months, and inflexibility on lease terms and allowances, not to mention the fact that they never allow pets and I have a 65-pound Bernese Mountain Dog. Port Property is a completely different experience. From the very start of my apartment search, they were responsive and helpful. I brought my dog in for an approval interview expecting to be grilled and was instead greeted with love and a simple questionnaire addendum for my lease. Since moving in, I've had a couple run-of-the-mill questions or issues to resolve and I've never waited more than a couple hours to get it sorted out. I'm super impressed and I plan to stick with Port Property Management as long as I rent in Portland.

Good pet friendly property management company. After moving from out of state it was difficult to find a landlord or apartment that was welcoming to big dogs, despite the fact that we have a well behaved poodle mix with references. Port Property made looking at several properties in one day easy during the search process and was responsive to phone calls and emails. As a tenant, I like being able to pay rent and submit maintenance requests online. They are usually responsive to maintenance needs and keep the property up well by painting etc. 4/5 stars because we were required to have a co-signer due to high qualification requirements and 1 maintenance issue that took a while to fix.

My apartment is very clean, has new appliances, and anytime there is an issue they have fixed it in a timely manner. Also I enjoy the fact I can pay my rent online and they always email you if anything is going on in your building, it’s super convenient.

This will be my second year renting from Port Property Management. I loved my first place with them, however wanted to move in town. I specifically sought out only places to rent that were owned by Port Property because they were so great! Maintenance and office staff are wonderful and quick. Any issues (which were minimal) were fixed immediately. They are lenient with pets, which was huge! Each place I moved into was extremely clean. All around great service. I have zero complaints and would recommend to anyone in the area to rent from Port Property Management before anyone else.

I have had a great experience with Port Property Management. I moved from out of state, and they were very helpful with the whole process. I worked with Morgan, and she was very nice and knowledgeable. She made me feel like she wanted to help me find the right apartment for me rather than trying to sell me on something that wouldn't work. She even checked-in with me to make sure I had everything I needed to move-in. When I have e-mailed, I have received prompt responses, and their policies are clear and fair.

It's worth noting that reviews have been incentivized by a rent discount, so that should be taken into consideration when reading recent reviews. I've been renting with Port Property for a year now and overall it's been a positive experience. The rent is fair for the neighborhood, and my building has off-street parking for a small fee (better than any other rate I found from other landlords.) The apartment itself is in great condition, with new appliances in the kitchen. Maintenance has generally been prompt and helpful, although we've had one or two issues that multiple tenants in the building had to call about before we got a response. They have some strict policies regarding keeping items on the property, outside of the apartment, including compost and trash, which makes things difficult in the summer. The office staff has been responsive and helpful, and communication of important information is always clear and prompt.

I have been renting from Port Property Management since February of this year and have been very pleased with my experience. Maintainence is always prompt and speedy and the office staff is always willing to help out with any issues (which are minimal). My apartment building is well maintained and rent is fair for a studio located downtown. You can find cheaper apartments, but they do not often come along with the wonderful support staff that Port Property offers. I would recommend Port Property to anybody looking for a reliable, reasonable downtown rental.

I have been renting from ppm for almost a year, and have had a great experience so far. Neighbors are great, and rent is affordable. They are responsive, and maintenance issues are always resolved within a day, or at most a week. I did initially have issues with my electricity powering off whenever I had 2 appliances on (microwave and water boiler). After talking to them and making a maintenance request, they were able to add breakers to my unit. Overall, my experience with ppm is positive!

Moved into our new apartment with Port Property Management just two weeks ago but already I can tell it's going to be a great experience. From the first time I walked up the steps and met Gino, one of the members of the maintenance crew, it felt like we had nothing to worry about as far as being taken care of and being considered special instead of just another tenant. With that said, BEFORE we signed the lease, we didn't get very warm or inviting vibes from folks at the office but maybe they just weren't having a great day? Either way, since we moved in things have been great and we're expecting that the relationship with the PPM continues to develop in a positive communal sort of way.

Been renting from them for several years and have never had a problem that wasn't fixed within 24 hours of requesting it. Their online portal makes paying rent and managing the lease easy and parking has been extremely reasonable. I've have never had any issues with bed bugs or other insects and the common areas have always been clean when I'm outside the apartment. Year over year, our rent has not gone up compared with others in the area and they make the switch to other properties in their network painless.Lately I've been seeing a lot of renovating going on in their apartments to modernize them, which provides me with more options each year should I decide to upgrade or downsize.

Port Property Management is a great company to rent from, in my experience. I love how rent, work orders, and the signing of leases is all done through your online account. It makes everything super easy. Ok, more about work orders — these guys are super efficient. I've placed work orders for anything from a leaky sink, to a lightbulb replacement, to a broken window shade — and someone usually shows up the next day to take care of it. Also, the people who show up are always really friendly. I'm very happy we chose to rent with Port Property.

I can't say enough about Port Property. They are such a well-oiled machine. I have rented stress-free for 4 years and it has been such an amazing experience. The apartment I moved in was all renovated, clean and impeccable. And over the 4 years of the tenancy, they have constantly been renovating and updating the inside and the outside of the building. They've always fixed issues either the same day or the next day I reported them, big or small. The building is cleaned up every week, and after a snow storm, our sidewalk is the first one to be impeccable, clear of any snow and salted. Their emergency line is always staffed and they are always prompt to answer. They have strong regulations in place, which is a benefit to all the tenants or else it would be a mess. Everything is done online or by email. I just love the easiness of it all. So grateful.

To be honest I have had my fair share of beef with Port Property Management some bed bug scares, its difficult to get anyone on the phone, and they made the initial signing of my lease very complicated. Also the washer/ dryers in 37 Casco Street don't really work and are pretty dirty and are still coin operated as opposed to having the option of using a card like many of the other buildings and laundromats in the area. However, through all of this they have been very accommodating by reducing my rent during months when there we minor issues with my apartment. What is great about Port Property Management is that they are very open to pets (which is why I chose PPM), rapidly respond to maintenance requests and are always quick to fix any issues.

I rented an apartment from PPM in Portland’s West End and had a fantastic experience. Right off the bat, yes there was a $1000 holding fee. However, if you’re at all familiar with the renting/housing market in metro Portland, places go really fast! I like having the assurance that I wouldn’t lose out on a good spot in case someone came along with all cash in hand. And, that fee comes off of your first/last/security total that’s due at signing, so you’re not paying $1000 extra. In my experience, the West End team (specifically Abby, Amber and Morgan) were professional and helpful from the get-go. I was going through a major life transition and needed to find a place where my dog and I could afford to live and still be close to work. The unit was clean, freshly painted, and had all the New England charm I was looking for (hello claw foot tub and in-unit washer-dryer!). Any issues I came up against, any questions I had, the team was quick to respond to my emails or calls and were incredibly helpful. Once, there was an issue with the heat and they sent someone right away. When an opportunity came along that would move me across the country before my lease was up, the team was happy to help me out. They offered to show the space in the hope that a new tenant would be able to take over right when I was planning to leave. They were respectful of my home and time, giving me ample notice before a showing, and the unit rented after only two weeks for exactly for the time I was planning to move! The exiting process was super easy, no hidden fees or anything to end the lease early now that it was rented. And, when I got to my new destination, I received a thoughtful handwritten note from the team! Thank you guys for helping me turn a tough year into one of my best! It’s obvious that they care about the safety and wellbeing of their tenants.

Ive always avoided property management companies because I’ve geard horror stories of poor communication, issues with apartments not getting resolved for months, and inflexibility on lease terms and allowances, not to mention the fact that they never allow dogs. Port property is a completely different experience. From the very start of my apartment search, they were responsive and helpful. I brought my dog in for an approval interview expecting to be grilled and rung through the ringer, but she was greeted with love and treats and s simple questionnaire addendum. I have not had any problems with the company, they return my emails and calls in a timely manner and do their best to keep the apartments renovated / clean. The biggest downfall for me is the parking situation at my apartment complex. There are no visitors spots, so visitors have to park in the road (if there is parking available, and in the winter there is a parking ban). Even when your visitors are parked in your marked parking spot, they will tow their vehicles. Wish there was a better way for when people want to visit. Overall, I’ve had a positive experience.

I had a very easy move-in transition, they were flexible and able to work with me on dates when I would be able to start moving my things in. I am looking to continue renting with Port Prop because they make it easy to move if you stay within the company. My only issue I have is the washer and dryer in my building are not very well maintained/cleaned enough and often eat my quarters because of broken machines that aren't indicted as such. But, all in all, would recommend.

I lived in an apartment managed by PPM for about a 1.5 years, and I have nothing but positive things to say about the office staff, their responsiveness, the maintenance staff, the quality of the living space etc. etc. In particular, I recently had to break my lease to move out of state for a job, fully understanding their (very fair) policy on the matter. Once I delivered my keys, they let me know that they wouldn't be able to show my apartment to potential renters because they were doing some renovations in the building. Instead of making me pay until the apartment was leased, they refunded me my deposit and the prorated rent for the remaining days of the month. This was MORE than fair, as I broke my lease 6 months early. They were friendly about it, very responsive and very helpful. In other instances when I needed something in my apartment or had a question about something, I always got a straight answer and my needs met right away.The building I lived in was renovated, clean, safe etc. I would recommend PPM to anyone looking in the Portland area - the management is top notch.

I just moved back to Portland after several years of living away. I was nervous to find a place in the city that would allow my (adorable) but very large dog to live. Port Property had many apartments that were pet friendly, so that gave me some hope. Once I had decided on a couple of their properties I contacted them and set up a time to look at the spaces. I was required to first bring Raider (the enormous goof) for a meeting to see if they would approve. I was very nervous not only because of his size but because of his coloring. I brought him to the office and immediately everyone was in love with him. They asked a decent amount of questions but never did it feel as if they were judging. I would have to say that it is nice to know that they take their job of managing homes for people seriously. I am content with them and would recommend renting from them.

I have been living at 37 casco street more than a year now.It was pretty easy to get this beautiful studio with amazing location.I was really happy that their apartments is pets friendly,for small fee. I would like to notice that Port Property Management has a lot of rules and you have to deal with it, if you want to live there. One thing that really bothers me is bad bugs situation.I was lucky enough to don't have any at my place,but idea that I could of get them was making me horrifying.The worst part was notes on my door,I felt so embarrassed in front of my friends and colleagues.I do hope in future they gonna send emails or send letters in my mailbox, not on the door!!! I want to mention that is super easy to pay rent and bills are included, which is awesome. I newer had issues with stolen mail or anything like that. My studio is pretty warm in the winter, but unfortunately it's way too hot in a summer.What I like is that Port Property trying to solve this problem with renting out AC for small fee,which is great. The reason I give you guys 4*,so you can work on some small issues and become better! I wish Port Property best luck of improving themselves,they already have such a great team.

Honestly, before I moved in with Port Property, I had heard some things about them not having the most timely maintenance responses or the best buildings. I am now living in my second Port Property managed building (previously the Shepley building at 18 Casco St., and now the Wadsworth on 30 Preble). I couldn't be happier with my time renting with them. I have absolutely no issues as far as maintenance requests go. They have surprised me three times with their timeliness and efficiency. And, my studio in 30 Preble was just renovated before I moved in. Granite counters, newly tiled bathroom, sparkling appliances, and beautifully up kept hardwood floors. Not to mention bike storage and in building laundry! I'm so in love with my space. No noise issues either. My only complaints would be coin-op laundry (though I can't get too greedy, beats going to the laundry mat) and the pet fee. It adds up and kinda breaks the bank... it's a good thing I love my fur babies.

Consider my, and any other reviews from May 2018, with the knowledge that most would not exist without this incentive and it probably skewed people toward positive reviews. Renting with Port Property Management is comparable to any other large property management company. There are layers of bureaucracy to getting anything done, but you have more confidence that maintenance will happen in a timely manner than if you were to rent with an independent landlord. It can be a bit impersonal to interact with Port Prop, but at the end of the day I believe that they usually remember that their tenants are people. I've found Vanessa to be unpleasant, but Christine and Charlie are great. It made me uneasy that when being shown apartments on Grant Street the leasing agent was super candid about wanting to change the demographics of the neighborhood. I'm flattered she considered us desirable tenants based solely on our physical appearance, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Pros: The apartment is gorgeous, as is the neighborhood. It has just about everything I would want in an apartment except for indoor bike storage and a laundry good facility. On the plus, they are responsive about maintenace issues. Cons: As a new tenant, I would have liked to feel a more warm and inviting presence from management. My biggest challenge thus far has been the number of rules, restrictions and the strictness with which they implement them. I completely understand having rules in place for safety and comfort of all tenants in the building we share. However, the penalization for breaking any of these rules as laid out in the lease and contract seem harsh. For example, if I have to open a window in winter suddenly in the apartment because whatever I'm cooking is smoking, I worry about being charged the $150 fine (we're in a heat-controlled unit). There have been a few individuals at Port Property (Gino in maintenace and Christine in management) who embody the sort of personalized, adaptable and human-level of understanding and generous approach to customer service that I value, but I do think that the company approach and culture as a whole could embody more of what they bring to the table. I love the apartment, and hope to create a harmonious relationship with their management and maintenance team to make our beloved new apartment feel like a home.

They're pretty disorganized and don't really seem to know what's going on half the time (my keys were wrong when I moved in, one of my parent's keys was wrong when they moved into their place, they didn't know how my parents should get their mail key). I was worried about going with PPM when I saw the reviews, but so far I've been glad I did! They've been consistently friendly, professional, and responsive, starting as far back as the application process. Every time I've needed help with something (light fixture loose, heating, etc), they've come in to fix it the next day. Then today, when my ISP rep had trouble finding the cable box for my unit, all I had to do was call and they sent someone over in less than 10 minutes to show us where it is. Promised they would install a washer/dryer in my unit over a year ago. Whenever I would call to get an update on when it would happen they said the part they needed was back ordered. I don't think it was backordered for over a year?? Way overpriced for very small apartments. Management isn't that helpful. They only have so many reviews on google now because they said we would be entered into a contest for money off our next rent if we wrote a good review...

My boyfriend and i have happily been in our current apartment for 1.5 years, an overall very good experience. We were conveniently able to rent a bright, clean and cute apartment even though we were moving from 6,000 miles away. Just enough space for us, great lighting, pretty vintage details in random places, beautiful hard wood floors, and a very good location. We did have one horrific experience that has left a scar - last winter the boiler stopped working and we lost heat during a period of freezing weather. Unfortunately it happened after their M-F working hours, and as a result we were left hanging while we had a 41 degree apartment for three days. While the laid-back management style is usually a good thing, we unfortunately also experienced the other end of the coin. They are respectfully un-invasive landlords, and any time we reported a maintenance issue during working hours someone responded in person almost immediately - no e-mail chains or appointments necessary! We like living here, and they take really good care of you. Unless it's a weekend.

Full disclosure: Port Property is incentivizing tenants to write reviews with a $300 rent discount giveaway, so you should notice an influx of positive reviews from Spring 2018. I’m hesitant to write an honest review; as a current tenant, I’m nervous about potential repercussions for anything I write that is negative. It’s possible that others feel the same way. My wife and I have rented from PPM for 2 years. Overall, we are pleased with PPM and will continue to rent from them. Pros: 1. Our apartment is beautiful and just as pictured in the listing. It was spotless and freshly painted when we moved in. 2. Our rent is reasonable given the market. 3. Maintenance is generally swift, kind, and thorough. 4. Snow removal is good. 5. The Rent Cafe portal is a nice way to make payments and request maintenance. 6. In my experience, PPM seems to be inclusive of LGBTQ tenants. Hit or Miss: 1. Some staff are more helpful and understanding than others. 2. PPM is notorious for having strict policies; some of those help tenants and some are unreasonable. 3. We have a serious centipede issue in our apartment; PPM has been on-and-off in their willingness to help combat this problem. Cons: 1. PPM forces many tenants to keep trash in their homes between collection days by disobeying Portland City Ordinance 12-18-b (Google it), which states that a landlord is responsible for providing “suitable and sufficient containers to receive the accumulation of solid waste on the premises during the interval between collections.” I know one resident who is forced to double-bag his trash and keep it in his closet because PPM will not provide an outdoor bin or dumpster. 2. PPM will impose their political views on tenants; last election season they repeatedly put signs in our yard advocating for their position (favoring landlord profits) on a city referendum. 3. PPM has some unreasonable policies, including not allowing us to have a simple doormat (essential for maintaining a clean apartment) and prohibiting us from keeping a sealed compost bucket (emptied weekly by an urban composting service) in an unused corner of our yard. I appreciate PPM’s commitment to a neat property, but some policies are far too nit-picky.

Something needs to be done differently. I am giving a 3 star review, and not a 1 star review because port property is great with communication in a prompt and professional manner, very friendly. I don’t know what port property could be doing differently in regards to the issues I have, but something needs to change. I do not feel safe in my building. There are trespassers in the building. There have been people smoking cigarettes and drinking on numerous occasions in the lobby of my building, inside of the locked door. I have witnessed a man pull the locked door open to gain access to the building, which made me afraid to go inside. When I call the police, they tell me this is my landlords issue, however emails are sent out from port property to call the police if someone is trespassing, and simply not to let anyone in the building unless it makes you uncomfortable, then sure, let them in. I have had my packages stolen on two occasions, and it is also regular to see packages ripped open and empty inside of the locked lobby. Port property, again, sends out emails suggesting to have your packages sent to work, but that isn’t an option for everyone. My employer does not allow personal packages delivered, nor does my husbands. Port property is aware of the issues going on in my building, but doesn’t seem to be taking any action themselves to find a solution and take steps to make this building safe. The stairs have been covered in blood, there have been hypodermic needles, a piece of human scalp with hair still attached to it, general garbage. I don’t believe this is coming from the tenants in my building, but I could be wrong. Cleanliness is a huge opportunity. This is a very frustrating situation to be in. Things seem to be getting worse instead of improving, and I’m tired of port property not taking responsibility and passing the buck on to everyone else instead of dealing with these issues.

PPM has been really great to me. Any issue I've had has been solved almost immediately and I really love that you can pay online, it makes paying rent a lot easier. I've even dropped my keys down the elevator shaft late at night like a dummy and the next morning maintenance was at my door with my keys in hand!

The apartment is modern and clean and the other tenants are fine. The building is very well maintained (although there is a LOT of dog poop on the property). My one issue came when my roommate and I both went away for Christmas and came back to find both our cars missing from the parking lot. Apparently there was a snowstorm while we were away and, me being in California and him in Denmark, we could not move our cars after the storm so they could plow. So they towed us. There's nothing like coming back from Christmas vacation to $660 in combined fees to a tow truck company and to your landlord. To their credit, Port Prop waived their portion of the towing fee, however the whole experience left us both sour. There aren't a lot of places you can stow your car for a week during winter, and you kind of assume that the parking spot you pay for every month would serve that purpose. Just read the fine print, because it won't, and you'll come back from vacation to a missing car and $660 in fees.

I've witnessed first hand how beautifully done PPM renovates their property units. With that being said, the units pricing is worth the sparkling wood floors, new efficiency appliances and large sunny floors to ceiling windows. Parking off street has been made easy at a price to pay but my S.O. and I have told one another many times how worth it is to pay due to our Maine winters. Try to find parking during a Portland snow ban, GOOD LUCK.
