Reviews of The Piazza
The Piazza is definitely an up and coming spot to be at in NoLibs. Great amenities and access to pool, high end gym, saunas, doorman service/package retrieval, etc. The only reason I dock a few stars, is because it’s been climbing in price and is becoming really expensive, and with the floor to ceiling windows the apartments get so ridiculously hot (AC cranked up does nothing). Also, if you’re lucky, you do get a building with a nice view of the city.
We love living at the Piazza. The pools, common spaces and amenities are unmatched; the gyms are nicer than the Equinox.
Kevin Barney at the leasing office helped us. I can’t say enough about how wonderful Kevin was to communicate and work with. If you’re looking for an easy application process, ask for Kevin!

I have lived in the Piazza Navona building’s remodeled apartments since 2019. I have absolutely loved living here. With the growth in amenities, restaurants, and other conveniences that have popped up…it makes it a completely ideal location. Also, they spare no expense in the quality of living from the apartment itself to the gym, pool, grills, yoga classes, etc.
The property management staff is also exceptional. Johnny has been the nicest person and so helpful. He quickly and fairly addresses any questions I have.
If I weren’t relocating, I would definitely continue living here.
Have been renting with the Piazza for about 1 year. When it came time to review my lease, I needed some flexibility with my lease terms. Johnny Perez from the management office was extremely helpful in helping me understand what might be possible and helped secure for me an arrangement to worked for me. Most management companies I've encountered would not entertain a discussion, but Johnny was very open to working with me to finalize a mutually beneficial arrangement. Thank you Johnny!
Overall experience has been positive however there are faults that definitely dock a few stars. The apartments are spacious, the staff friendly, and the amenities are excellent; however sound insulation is extremely poor to the point of hearing every neighbors' conversations clearly through the walls and floor. The package room is unfortunately one of the most inconvenient aspects of the apartment. I have had packages lost, misplaced, or severely delayed. Thankfully the concierge always does their best to locate packages but there have been times where nothing was found. Hopefully these issues can be addressed in the future.
Just wanted to give a shout out to Johnny in the management office at the Piazza! Johnny always goes above and beyond because he genuinely cares about everyone. He has such a positive attitude and is truly a pleasure to work with. If you have a question or need help with anything at the Piazza, Johnny is the guy to see!
The Piazza is truly a gem in Northern Liberties and I love how you get the perks of living in the city, AND the perks of having so many amenities (parking, pool, etc). I lived in another complex managed by the Post Brothers, and they are the best of the best! They hire amazing staff, and they are always there to help at any given time.
A big shoutout to Brooke (my leasing agent!) for being so sweet and helpful throughout the entire move in process. I worked with her at my old complex years ago and it was SO nice to see a friendly face at the Piazza. She truly goes above and beyond for her clients and makes you feel so comfortable. I also worked with Laure who is a gem! She answered every annoying question I had pre-move in haha, and was so helpful. Thank you ladies!! XO
Pros:
+ The Cove (pool, hot tub, grills). Open 24/7, year-round. It is a high luxury experience that makes you feel like you live in a resort. Guest access is somewhat restricted, but you just pay $15/wristband on the days that it's very busy.
+ The staff. The maintenance and cleaning staff are all really nice and do an excellent job of keeping the place clean and functional. If something breaks, it's usually repaired within a week or two. You can sense they care and want the tenants to have a top-notch experience. I truly hope they are being paid enough because they really do an amazing job.
+ The gym. Absolutely gorgeous gym with excellent equipment, rivaling Equinox. You *want* to spend time in there. The locker rooms have a sauna, hydro massage bed, and tanning booth. The new Alta gym also has a skiing simulator. Wild.
+ The tenants. Pretty much everyone I've come across is fun, attractive, and kind. Hang around the pool/hot tub on a weekend and you're guaranteed to make a ton of friends.
+ The location. The Giant supermarket and DGX are right downstairs. A TON of entertainment options are within 15 minutes walking distance.
+ The units. Most of the units are bi-level, which is really cool. It allows for pretty nifty ideas, for example hanging a hammock in your living room. It also breaks up the unit making it feel like there's more space than the square footage would suggest.
Cons:
- The NOISE. Oh god, the noise... I moved here from New York and let me tell you, I didn't think noise like this was even possible. Between the floor repairs (more on that in a moment), poor insulation, dirt bikes, general traffic, and loud music, it's really really noisy. I sleep in earplugs every night. My neighbor on one side is completely insulated - we don't hear each other even if we're blasting music. My neighbor on the other side though, it's as though there isn't even a wall between the two units; you can overhear normal conversations. The giant windows facing North 2nd street don't keep sound out either.
- The floors. Some of the units have polished concrete with a polyurethane coating. This is by far the worst floor material choice known to man. The thing about poly is that it scratches pretty easily, and if the floors are scratched management offers to have them resurfaced every time someone moves in. You can't just re-coat the floor - the previous coat first needs to be taken off with an industrial floor grinder. Ask anyone who lives here how loud these machines are and they'll tell you... RIDICULOUSLY loud. On the advice of an attorney I bought a decibel meter to start documenting it just in case. You can hear the grinding from up to 5 units and 2 floors away. If you work from home you need to be prepared once a month for ~3 days. You will suffer. Management will offer the corporate unit or WeWork day pass. And then one day the grinding will stop. You will have peace and quiet again.
And THEN you'll get hit by the fumes. The other thing about poly is that it's extremely smelly. So when they recoat a unit, that building's entire level smells for another day or two. Fairly toxic smell, and unlike noise you can't exactly escape it with earplugs/headphones.
Management, please consider transitioning all the units to hardwood. I can't imagine the cost is any higher than the current approach.
Neutral:
~ Management. In short, issues can always be frustrating to deal with, but overall management is fair and reasonable. They try to accomodate tenants as best they can when there are issues, offering the corporate unit or a day pass to the WeWork if your unit is uninhabitable. I haven't moved out yet but heard there can be issues with the security deposit so will update this review in a couple months.
Overall, I would absolutely recommend living here and would return in the future to a different building/unit. You can absolutely have a solid 5-star experience here if you choose the right unit. From what I understand, Navona with the windows facing the courtyard is the way to go. Good luck!
I have had an amazing experience at The Piazza from start to finish. The apartment is in the perfect location with lots of good restaurants and experiences just steps away. The amenities are beautiful and wonderfully kept. The property managers always promptly responded to any questions or concerns I had, helped solve the issues, and followed up to make sure everything was resolved. If I did not have to relocate for work I would definitely resign. I recommend it to anyone looking for a very nice apartment with awesome amenities and great management.
I cannot say enough good things about living here. I absolutely love it, and Johnny Perez has been amazing in answering questions and being prompt with responses. He is so responsive! If I have any questions, I know I can immediately go to him for a solution. Thank you thank you!!!
Jenna was our leasing agent and she was EXTREMELY helpful! We ended up going with the Liberties Walk building and love the accessibility to the piazza amenities but with a bit of quiet from being a few streets away. Can’t wait to move in!
I visited The Piazza recently while in Philadelphia looking for an apartment as I relocate from NYC. Chloe was the leasing agent who helped me and she was fantastic: so personable, knowledgeable and helpful in showing me several different apartment layouts as well as all the great amenities at hand. She was attentive to all my inquiries and I never felt rushed as I took my time to explore the spaces and her follow-up was just as on point. Though I’ve leased a different place in the end to be closer to work, I was really impressed by the whole of the Piazza: apartment layouts, gym, pool etc and all it has to offer and I highly recommend Chloe to give you a tour if you’re in the market for a new place to call home.
Was able to tour and move in all in a matter of a week! Shoutout to Anna for making it all happen as quickly as possible and the rest of the staff for being extremely cordial and helpful during my first couple of days. Can't wait to enjoy all the amenities and wonderful location this year.
Went her for the booties BRUNCH @ Anejo for a Dear Friend's Birthday, the food was cool, French toast The BEST, BLANCO MARGARITAS were good too. Lilah, was a dope Server & the mgmt was pretty cool too, as we were a bit rowdy all in good fun!
My fiance and I had such an amazing experience with our leasing agent, Jenna! She was so helpful through the whole process and was always available to answer our many questions and requests. Jenna really went above and beyond to take care of us by making time at any hour of the day, and taking us on three separate tours (lol) . She helped us decide on our future apartment and really made it feel like home for us. We cannot wait to move in. Thank you so much again Jenna!
I'm so grateful to Laure for responding to my request to view the space with such immediacy. I needed a place I could move into in the space of three days and Laure made it happen. She took me on a video tour of three different apartments, sent me links to view the amenities, and supported me through the application process. I got approved, and once we got to Philly, Laure made sure we had everything we need to make the move in smooth. The whole process felt so easeful. I looove the Piazza and would've probably ended up elsewhere if laure hadn't done everything she could to make sure I had all the information I needed and that the apartment I wanted was ready for me at the time I needed it. She's also just kind and patient and that helped a lot because I felt in crisis and she just carried the entire process with such calm. Thank you, Laure!
I lived in the Schmidt Commons for slightly over two years from July 2015 until September 2017. Overall, it was a great experience and a beautiful place to live.
I'll begin with the things I'll miss the most, my apartment. I used to live in the Erbe building, and it was 1) an incredible space and 2) very reasonably priced compared to the rest of NoLibs (and even Fishtown) for the value I was given. I moved in when parking was including, so I never had to "pay" to park. I did lose parking for about a month in 2016 when my parking lot suddenly became off limits, but they resolved that as timely as they could which I was grateful for. I also had the greatest view of Center City that made my friends and family insanely jealous, though my downstairs lost the view due to the building across the street. No fault to the Schmidt Commons, but it was the one thing that always stunk.
I also loved the fact how dog-friendly the area is. I brought home over a year ago a 9-week-old English Bulldog, now fully grown, who had the best puppyhood. The fact a dog park was on the property and all the businesses were so dog-friendly made it a blast.
Location, location, location was a huge plus. El Camino became my go-to spot. Urban Village is incredible. The fact there is a WeWork downstairs! I also ended up going car-less while living here, so the ease to the El on Girard (and Spring Garden) made life a-okay for me (and ended up saving me money vs. car payment, car insurance, gas, tolls, parking, oil changes, etc).
The team at the Schmidt Commons were always good to me. Maintenance was super friendly and helpful. Leasing office always was friendly and loved my dog. They would also protect my packages if I weren't able to get it; which is great vs. having it in the hallway for someone to randomly take.
Perhaps best of all, I had some great neighbors who have become lifelong friends. I moved into this area knowing no one and ended up with many friends from my time in the Erbe building.
The only things I'd encourage the Schmidt Commons to improve on is their online billing system (auto-pay never worked for me, and I would make monthly payments just to find out weeks later it didn't go through even though it was successful) and to focus on fixing the elevators. It seemed every week at least one elevator is broken, and they take forever to go up only five floors (you start to think you live in a skyscraper by how long it takes to go up and down). Again, nit-picking there; but nothing to complain about.
If you're looking to live in this complex, especially in the Erbe building, I encourage it. Only reason I ended up moving was that I was ready to be a homeowner vs. renter, or else I'd have no intentions on leaving :)
Always wanted to live in Nolibs and of course heard a lot about the piazza. I live with my roommate currently and we love the area and apartment style. I know they are adding a pool club and I've heard some new restaurants are coming too. excited to see how it goes!
***UPDATE***
The Cove is opened and its incredible. Easily one of the coolest spots in the city and so glad its right outside my door
I just want to shout out the some of the fantastic staff (Jared, Diontae, Jeff...etc) that make the Piazza a friendly and comfortable place to live. The concierges are maintenance teams are always extremely helpful and professional, and will quickly work to resolve any issues big or small in a timely manner. They has been some of the best people that I've worked with, and are definitely an underrated part of living at the Piazza.
I moved here on a time crunch due starting a new job. All the staff have been wonderful in helping me with my transition here at Alta. Especially Jenna and Kristen who were helpful and attentive from the beginning with my tour all the way to my ultimate transition to becoming a resident here. Would recommend.
This is my second Post Brothers property; to be frank, I did not have a great experience with management at my first property, but was in a time crunch to move and had people tell me to look here nonetheless.
After living here for almost a year now, I am glad that I gave Post another chance - the property management team here (Jess, Johnny, Charity, Jarred) has really stepped it up and worked on a lot of the issues other reviewers have listed below. (Anything in management's control gets done - the Piazza is a public landmark so there are some things externally that can't be controlled/mitigated, and they are clear). The maintenance team is kind and accommodating as well, and the concierge staff always provides a friendly face. I am glad that the Piazza's management team genuinely cares about tenant loyalty and overall experience; this made my decision to stay that much easier. I hope to continue living here for years to come!
Been dealing with the piazza management for years now between being a resident and using their garage. Finally writing a review because I’ve been in communication with Johnny Perez. He’s been nothing but helpful and very responsive to every text I send. Treats me very respectfully and not like a stranger, and has made every situation much better! Thank you Johnny!
We’ve been living at The Piazza for a year and overall it has been a fantastic experience. The buildings and amenities are great, but the best part is the team that works here. Dante and Johnny are wonderful, and to say they go above and beyond is an understatement. So grateful for them!
I moved into The Piazza a month ago and my experience has been amazing so far! Anna was my leasing specialist and made the process so easy. I had my lease signed and was able to move in less than a week. The complex is perfect and has everything close by. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an apartment in the area. And ask for Anna because she is amazing!
Never lived here, but toured it and it was amazing. It was 2nd on my list of apartments to live in. Instead I went with Lincoln Square on Broad & Washington which is amazing. Biggest reason why I didn’t choose Piazza was honestly just because the garage parking isn’t attached and you have a short walk to your car, my job revolves around my car and taking things to and from it so couldn’t get past the garage setup at Piazza. Piazza’s newer renovated apartments were insanely nice though.
I love it here in Northern Liberties, serving the community has been a great pleasure here at D'Oliva Evoo Pizza and Grill. Seeing positive impact that The Piazza has made with improving overall quality of life in the area is amazing. The staff in the management is really great and Donte at the front desk always has the biggest smile and is willing to help out in any way. Looking forward to seeing what the future brings!
*Rating is based on property tour and communication experience*
My fiancé and I are relocating so we toured the Piazza as we considered places to live. Jenna was our leasing agent and provided hospitable service from the start. She made herself available for us to tour the property a couple of times and was super helpful through the application process. It’s stressful finding a place to live out of state and Jenna helped the process feel more comfortable.
We decided not to lease here because we found a home to rent in the area that better suited our needs.
Loved living in this complex. Great location and amenities, some awesome residents too when I lived there. Dante & Johnny best front desk crew you can ever ask for and all round great guys!
I enjoy living at the piazza everything is walking distance and the staff is amazing. Im always greeted by Donte who is always going above and beyond to make sure I have everything i need. Its been plenty of time when I’ve been in a situation where i need assistance and he makes sure he does what he can to assure me and guest are accommodated.
I just read that the Piazza Alta is the Biggest Real Estate Development in the US right now, that’s really amazing! Especially since I have lived at the Piazza for several years now. I was a resident way before Post Brothers took over the property and I love what they’ve done since.
I own the Boxing Gym on 2nd street. “Maleek Jackson Fitness Boxing Gym”. I’m loving the new developments and of course the new restaurants. Jared in the management office has been a great point of contact and Donte at the desk always goes above and beyond to make our stay the best that it can be & so does Johnny.
Jessica is our new property manager and her personality, hard work and organizational skills make her great for the position. She does her job with great care.
I’m looking forward to seeing more of what Post Brothers has to offer in luxury living to Philly….so far they haven’t dropped the ball yet🥊!.
I recently toured the Piazza with leasing agent Meaghan and I wanted to share my experience!
Meaghan worked with me to find a place in my price range and answered all of my many questions. She was super nice and friendly! She cared about me finding the right place, whether at the Pizza or elsewhere, and went above & beyond compared to other leasing agents I’ve had in the past.
I was blown away with the amenities the Pizza has to offer. The pool is beautiful with an outdoor kitchen and the gym has all the equipment I needed. With working-from home for the foreseeable future, the Piazza became an attractive option for having extra amenities to break of the monotony of working/living in the same place.
Ultimately, the Piazza was out of my budget and I could not make it work but looking forward to living here in the future. I highly recommend leasing here with Meaghan!
Recently moved into The Piazza and compared to the 6 other apartment complexes I have lived at over the years, this was by far the most pleasant experience I've had to date. If you are interested in living here, ask for Anna at the leasing office! She was extremely helpful and was able to help my roommate and I work through a mistake on our lease (which was our fault) a couple days prior to move-in. We were really impressed by Anna and the rest of the team at The Piazza. Thrilled to be living here!
Very nice complex, highly recommend. Within walking distance of many restaurants/bars. Anytime I had an issue, the concierge Donte was always very friendly and beyond helpful, great staff and great location!
We were in the city this past weekend visiting several apartment facilities, looking to move within the next few months. Our 2nd appointment was at The Piazza with Jenna Baldino. From the moment we met Jenna, throughout our time visiting, we could not have asked for a better experience. Jenna is professional, knowledgable, hard working and extremely personable. She is a prime example of who you want to represent your company! Our other appointment's didn't come close to our visit at The Piazza! Thanks Jenna!
recently moved in and i absolutely love it here! the community and neighborhood are a perfect place to be. Anna Ivanova was my leasing agent and she was so helpful and kind during the process. she made me feel comfortable that i was choosing the right home and that all of my questions were answered in a clear and comfortable way! highly recommend!
We come all the time and watch the movies we are thankful that they give them for free we always have a good time we watch the Christmas movie in the rain we were the only ones there it was so much fun my son loves it it's like being at the drive-thru movies I hope they do it all the time and I would like to see more than one movie a week it's a great time I hope more people will come to see it they played great movies old and new
Customer relations at the Piazza was unmatched with any other apartment I had lived at. I had been put in contact with Jenna Baldino and I couldn’t have been more satisfied with her service in helping me find the perfect place to sign a lease here.
My roommate and I had Meagan as our leasing agent throughout the process and everything was great. She showed us all options in our budget, toured us throughout the area and answered all questions very promptly. Aside from the unbeatable amenities at this apartment, there is public transportation nearby to easily get into the city and there are so many cute restaurants/bars in the area. I highly recommend and cannot wait to live here!
I have lived with this company since 2009 and it was a great experience. The maintenance staff is super sweet and ALWAYS gets the job done timely. That is very important to me from what I've seen in other places. I will miss all of those guys! Also, the management is extremely professional and kind. I probably would have NEVER moved if I didn't get presented a sweet situation with my new spot. I will always think of them as a great company to go back to, if I ever need it. Cheers!
We moved in here in August, and despite the construction have loved living here so far! Our one bedroom apartment is the perfect size and we love the deck space and the view of the city skyline. We use the gym almost daily, and are very much looking forward to both the new pools and new gym opening soon.
One of the nicest parts of living here is how lovely the staff are - our leasing agent, Meaghan, was incredibly helpful and attentive during the process. The team at the front desk - Donte, John, Samantha - is also welcoming and very professional.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience signing a lease with The Piazza!! Tim is an absolute ALL STAR and spent hours with us touring a lot of different units and the entire grounds until we found the perfect unit for us - even going back to a few units multiple times to make sure we were choosing the right one. He was so patient with us and even responded to us on his days off!! Thank you so much for the great experience, Tim! If I could give you 6 stars I would. We can't wait to be there!!!
Had a fantastic time securing a beautiful unit and signing a lease at the Piazza. Jenna did a fantastic job of being flexible and making time to show all the units I had interest in and has been extremely thoughtful and responsive in answering every question small or large that I had. Has made for a seamless move so far and would highly recommend.
The Navona concierge staff are awesome! Still getting to know everyone, but Donte has been welcoming and really takes care of the residents!
10/10 recommend living here! Jenna Baldino, in the leasing office, helped my find my beautiful apartment for the best price. The location is so ideal for young professionals, surrounded by bars, restaurants, and shops.
Just relocated from northern New Jersey a month ago. Schmidt's Commons seemed like a great place that had a lot to offer. So far, so good!! Enjoying the music, movies and activities the Piazza has to offer as well as the surrounding restaurants and shops which are all a quick walk. More importantly, Sean and the entire management and maintenance staff at Schmidt's Commons are not only professional, responsive and courteous, they have quickly addressed my maintenance and other requests including sending a staff member to my home when I was out of the area and my alarm went off. Happy to be living here!
Nice place to live. The amenities in and around the neighborhood are very nice. Parking can be brutal at times. But what sets apart from other complexes that I’ve lived in our the staff at the front desk. Dante in the Navona building is amazing. You want to talk about someone who would go above and beyond to help. Dante is a gem. Great personality, friendly helpful. I might actually consider moving if Dante was no longer at the front desk.
I haves lived at the Piazza since October and it’s been lovely. Kelly is the best property manager I’ve encountered and my leasing agent Meaghan was absolutely terrific. All 4 of the concierge (Donte, Johnny, Troy, and Megan) are terrific as well. They really make the property feel like home and improve and improve my mode every time I come home. Great team here at the Piazza apartments
Very excited to be at the Piazza. If you are looking to move to the area, reach out to Jenna ASAP! She is extremely knowledgeable about the prosperity and was able to answer all my questions. She was wonderful to work with and made the process so easy and fun!
I toured different rooms at the Piazza last week and was very impressed with the amenities and facilities. While I can’t speak to what it’s like living there, I can comment on the services of the leasing office. The leasing specialist who diligently worked with me, Amanda McGranaghan, was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. She answered all my questions and was able to spend a significant amount of time (that wasn’t initially reserved for me) guiding me in filling out the application and showing me additional rooms last minute. While I decided in the end not to move to Philadelphia (due to the long commute from work), I would reconsider this as a first option if I ever decide to move to Philly in the future.
Just signed a lease and Chloe made the overall experience really easy/ enjoyable. I asked 1000 questions throughout the process & she was very helpful
Beautiful amenities Beautiful place to live, eat, shop and people watch. The Cove a recently new addition to the Piazza a beautiful in ground salt water temperature controlled pool opened all year around. Brand new state of the art gym facility which includes a dry sauna, steam room, massage chair and tanning booth. The staff is very friendly accommodating my leasing agent Meaghan Nacey went above and beyond and answered any questions or concerns that i had. She also followed up on me after signing my lease to make sure everything was to my expectations. I highly recommend anyone interested in living at the PIAZZA to reach out to Meaghan Nacey at the leasing Dept.
I love living at the Piazza ! I’m so excited to see the renovations that are happening . it’s in a great location where you can easily access many different activities or eateries. More importantly, I enjoy the warm welcome I get from John who sits at the front desk he is not only professional, but super helpful ! Exactly The experience I was hoping for when I moved here.
I recently relocated to Philadelphia for work. Showings were easy to set up and safe in the our new COVID world.
Meaghan was extremely helpful answering the >9,000 questions that I had. She provided solid, actionable advice throughout the viewing and leasing process. As someone who had zero experience in Philly at the time, I appreciated this a ton!
The new pool and gym are even better than expected.
Nice place with access to many shops and restaurants. The central square is a pretty nice place to hang out in.
The Piazza is an all-around great place to live. The leasing staff has been nothing but helpful, especially Al-Nis. All of my maintenance requests have been completed the next day if not the day of the request. Donte is an awesome staff member to have at the front desk. He always greets you with a smile and goes above and beyond to try to help you out. Overall, it has been a great experience living at the Piazza.
Living at the Piazza is great, but it is especially great because of the people at the front desk in the Navona. Dante is always so helpful and always has a smile on his face which brightens my day. Troy is also amazing and is always there when you need a laugh. Having them downstairs makes me feel safe and it really makes it so much better to come home having those two to greet you!!!
Attended summer event very nice venue for the Salsa on the Piazza
I went here for the bacon and beer fest. It was good all free food which was awesome and the beer selection was good. My only issues were I wish there had been a bit more sun coverage as I am very pale so I got a bit dizzy. And I wish there had been more of a selection of beer because while the ones they picked were good there wasn't much too pick from.
The area is thriving and upbeat. My friend owned a menswear store in this complex. The restaurants are perfectly distanced, enough to enjoy the venue you are attending. The arena is spacious and inviting. I hang out here occasionally, and the space is inviting all year long.
Such an amazing place to live. I’ve recently moved in and during the process, it has been nothing less than great! Meaghan Nacey & Kelly Dale had made the process super seamless for me. Everything is super convenient and close by. Also, Navona concierge, Johnny Perez is very pleasant and welcoming when coming in and leaving out.
If you wanted to dine and have a good time, Italian restaurant name "Figo" you will enjoy this place having a nice Bar to drink frenly and met people that is high class and respectable person serving your drink and food.
You must visit this Bar & Italinan restauran.
The Piazza is a beautiful complex to live with plenty of sites around to enjoy. Despite some hiccups, the management staff has done their best to help us get acclimated and fix any issues that have come up. Al-Nis in the management office has been great making sure that problems with the unit got resolved.
Additionally, the front desk staff is very nice and welcoming. Donte, John & Samantha have made the first couple months here a pleasure, and they are friendly faces I look forward to seeing before t morning workout or after a tough day at work.
I'm giving it 3 stars for now only because it feels like so many of the options that used to be here are gone. The inner plaza feels empty where it used to feel alive just a few years ago. A few of the bars that used to be there appear to have either closed or moved on. I hope the new management turns things back around. They seem to be trying with PodPark across the street.
Edit: Replying to the response below from the owner. That is definitely good to hear. The Piazza is a bright spot in the area and I was disheartened to see so much had changed since my last visit. I look forward to seeing what the ownership brings in and will be checking out PodPark at some point this summer. - as aside thank you for taking the time to reply to me. I will absolutely reconsider my review again on my next visit.
Parked my vehicle here when a belt broke while on 95. Desperately looked for a place where I could leave the truck without getting towed. Long walk and few hours later and I was on my way. I was very lucky that incident didn't cost me much more. Thanks for not towing me.
From the outside the place looks nice, I like what that area of the city has become.
Coming from out of state and moving during a pandemic can be very stressful. Amanda made this move stress free. She worked late nights and weekends to ensure we had all of the information we needed. From FaceTime calls, viewing different apartments to allowing us to meet in person. She was always only a phone call or a text message away for any and all questions. Would absolutely recommend working with her to find your new apartment!
I had a great experience with the leasing specialist: Amanda, she went all over the place to help us. She was very helpful and showed us multiple units and answered all of our questions. I loved the place. However, I ended up not renting here just because it is maybe a little pricey.
(Current resident of an city-facing bi-level 1-bedroom in the Erbe building)
Love this apartment. Breathtaking views of the city, Temple's campus, and NoLibs park are one of my favorite aspects of living here & were a major selling point. Spacious with great layout, modern appliances, and mostly concrete walls which prevent sounds from the neighbors very well. The sounds of nature & birds coming from the park through the living room window/balcony are amazing as well.
(Can't hear any construction sounds during the day from my apt, but can't speak for the east-facing rooms or those in other buildings. Not sure how much the traffic noise from 2nd St will increase after quarantine but will update this later.)
Fantastic location with convenience store (DGX) and tons of other shops and some of my favorite restaurants downstairs, as well as a grocery store a block away. Very short walking distance to tons of other nightlife - Colombus blvd, Fishtown & Rivers Park & Casino are within 5 minutes walk.
The amenities (some of which are not currently open) are icing on the cake: free gym & residents pool/resort being built should be amazing once opened up.
I love that this is like a vertical neighborhood. It combines everything I like about NYC and Philly. The events are amazing too! There is always something going on. Who needs an Uber or the hassle of parking? You can just walk over to the Piazza (or downstairs for some) and you can find something to do on any given night - dance classes, live bands, festivals, tournaments - you name it, they got it. It’s an absolutely perfect space with a stage (oh hey live music-lovers) and enough real-estate to have multiple events at once....and I know a thing or two about real-estate ;). They do a great job of keeping it fresh too- as the seasons change so do the events. It’s the only place in Philly (center city)that does this. You simply CANNOT go wrong here.
Live here. Good location. Good amenities, they're adding a year round pool in the courtyard. Apartment construction in my bldg is definitely poor, thin walls, you can hear everything, the washer dryer, footsteps, doors, everything. The average age is thirty, young white millennials. Not my age-group so will be moving when my lease expires. Restaurants are overrated, better options in Center and University City. Not a bad place to be in general. Definitely getting better with Fishtown right around the corner and new construction everywhere.
Fun place to hang out but expensive. Living here is pricey and when they lost the contract with the gravel lot parking became competitive unless you forked out the higher price to park in the garage. The monthly pet rent is also crazy as they charge per pet. Maintenance is fast, but can be rude at times. Good location for public transit if you don't bring a car.
Nice outdoor space with a number of bars and restaurants. Unfortunately, a number of the retail spaces are now vacant but it’s still a nice place to hang out, especially if there is a noteworthy event being televised as they are often projected on the side of one of the surrounding buildings.
The piazza is a decent place to live. I would suggest moving in a year from now unless you love living in a constant, unfinished construction zone. If they ever finish up with the loud sawing and hammering at 7:30am daily, the gym, package room, and convenient location in a great neighborhood are highlights. The front desk staff in the Navona building are extremely helpful and professional, Dante is always there to help! The maintenance staff is very responsive and helpful as well. If you can get through the tough leasing office and overpromising management office, it can be a pretty good place to live.
I was a resident of the Boone Lofts - one of the Schmidt's Commons properties - for 2 years and couldn't have been more pleased during my time there. This is my fourth rental experience in Philadelphia and easily the best, in large part due the the property management team. Sean Gavin and his team are as responsive as can be. Aside from that, I loved the location and the surrounding neighborhood.
The Piazza has overall high quality service. They have been very patient and address all needs in a timely manner. Would recommend to anyone.
My roommate and I always appreciate Donte' greeting us in the lobby of Navona. He is so friendly and genuine. You can tell he cares about his job and the people that live in the building. We're lucky to have him on the building staff!
This place is perfect on a summer's day to either catch some sun or go to one of the restaurants along the strip. Really nice apartment buildings and they have a restaurant cuisine for everyone's favorites! Love the huge screen in the middle to watch a sports game or to enjoy a movie at night.
The people at The Piazza make this place so warm and friendly, especially Donté. He’s always there ready to greet you with a smile and help with anything you might need. Glad to live in such an amazing community!
Jenna Baldino helped me find the perfect apartment. Affordable pricing, great location and tons of amenities.
This place was amazing when it was "The Piazza" and freshly built, with tenants in every retail storefront. Then it got "too amazing," retail rent went too high, and a lot of the good spots shut down. Used to really foster a culture (of some sort, for better or worse), but it's really been lacking the past 5ish years. Everything around it is really spectacular though, and dont make the mistake of missing adjacent Liberties Walk (I think that's the name?), which features a few semi-secret sleepers.
There was an event my children and I went to. So we were never in the actual building. The courtyard is a great size and they have a store right on the premises and plenty of places to eat nearby..... I'm sure that's convenient.
My boyfriend and I went out with our dog for a bite and a couple drinks...we had a great time! But I think my dog rocky liked it most of all....he really enjoyed meeting other dogs and playing. We had street corn from tiki taco and it was delicious, my boyfriend said one of the best he’s had ever and we also tried buffalo chicken and the Cuban empanadas which also were great but they had no sauce for the empanadas, which they said they were working on it didn’t really matter they were great without it. There was no water in the bathrooms at one point but I mentioned it to someone and they had it fixed pretty quickly! They had an outdoor DJ with people dancing and playing jenga pretty fun night for us!
Very nice place, and very convenient that there's a shop rite so close by (nice to have the liquor store too). There's a pet store and plenty of nightlife close by also. North bowl is a lot of fun down the street. And being on Girard there's good public transit
Dante at the front desk makes this building worthwhile. He is friendly, knowledgeable and his smile always gives tenants a warm welcome. Thank you Dante for making life a little bit brighter! We need more Dante’s.
I had a great experience living at the Schidts' Commons. The maintenance service is one of the best I have seen. The apartments are nice, specially those in Del Campo building. I enjoy all the summer activities that Schmidt's Common organizes, from salsa nights, movie nights, fancy events, food trucks etc. It is a great place to live.
I've been here for some Philly sports clubs events and it's a great spot for that. There's a bunch of shops all lining the first floors of the surrounding apartments and there's a WeWork office right off of it. I've never been to a concert/event here but it certainly seems like a good spot for one.
It’s a very nice incredible gym sadly we did not able to I have accommodation there because what they were showing us on what the availability came to be is night and day difference so decided to go to different draft
Recently moved to the Piazza in September and I really love it here. The apartment is beautiful and the staff is fantastic especially Donte. He’s been exceptionally kind and helpful. I would recommend the Piazza to any and everyone.
Great apartments, nice neighborhood, helpful staff. Donte at the front desk is super helpful and always has a smile. It's great to have someone like him around to help with unexpected situations.
Living at the Piazza has been great besides all of the construction. Hopefully it will all pay off though. Everyone is really nice and the people at the front desk are so personable, especially Donte!
Just moved in and I feel at Home! I like the gym, the trash chute, the modern industrial design. I'm so happy to live here and the staff really helped ease the transition of our relocation!
Had a tremendous experience leasing an apartment at the Piazza. The leasing experts, notably Amanda, are responsive and accommodating. Amanda answered all of our questions and worked incredibly hard to find us the best apartment for our needs.
Great company to work for plus beautiful area
Great place to listen to a band watch a sporting event on huge screen all free of charge.
The food and drinks was excellent. Employees were very professional. Will be back again.
Could use some more bars/restaurants along the outsides of it. As of now, Gunners Run is the only bar with outside tables there. Could be a cool place if they lease the surrounding buildings to bars instead of record stores and commercial.
The management company of the apartments on Liberties Walk / Schmidt's Commons is fantastic. They have been the most responsive landlords I've ever lived under, always addressing any issues / repairs expeditiously and professionally.
Cool, kinda trendy. They now have a place to eat and drink outside. Soon to come for the piazza is a pool. Good area to walk around and relax.
Great place to live if you want to be surrounded by great food and events all around you. Only gripe is the noise level at times but if you can look past that one of the nicest spots in the city.
Although we ultimately did not move here (for other reasons) Amanda was amazing to work with! Go talk to her if you are thinking about moving to this great neighborhood!!
Great place to socialize whether you want to go to the shops and restaurants that are posted around or just hang out outside. Very clean. There are shaded and sunny areas. 😎 …
Great location and amenities. Ask for Anna at the leasing office! She is extremely helpful and awesome. Excited to start living here!
Great place to live however MANY unexpected move out fees not specified in the lease such as the general cleaning fee and more
It’s a great place to live with wonderful employees especially and great maintenance team who are always there to fix what needed fix.
Also want to mention front Desk personnel Danté, who always shows great professionalism with his work and always comes through the many times I’ve needed help or information!
Love living here! It’s close to everything and the staff is great. Donte is a real gem and puts a smile on my face no matter what happens when I come home.
I went one night when they had a live band. The band wasn't too bad. But they have a huge screen that was right above the stage. It was super bright and definitely took away from the band.
The condominiums and small businesses fall short In making the Piazza enjoyable for adults, residents, families and children. This may be a residential center but it has nothing that feels like a neighborhood .
The amenities are great. Apartments are very modern. Donte, Troy, and Johnny are the best concierge! They are very welcoming and personable.
I ate and had drinks at gunners run. I am trying to understand why would anyone put sugar covered onions on a quesadilla. It was awful. The shots we got where so small. Don't think I will go back there.
Concierge Donte Case he’s very responsible and respectful to everyone, very professional. He took his job very seriously and he help anyone with any questions or concerns that we can have . It’s a pleasure to have him as a concierge.
Cool gathering space but could be done better. It needs some better seating/hanging out options and hopefully another restaurant. The movie nights are great though.
Great housing and lots of things to do in the area
Tons of places to visit and spots to eat at. People here are usually okay and don't seem happy to be there except the Wahlburgers. Some places are more pricey than others, up to you to decide where you'd like to go.
Great day. Went to Wahlburgers for lunch. Free parking for restaurant guests right across the street on Germantown and Second. Very convenient. Will definitely be back.
This place has good people working for them. And the food is good.
Surprised me with the beer selections. Definitely the best part of being there.
We were not in any of the apartment, we were at walburgers next door. The area around the apartments was well kept. It would be great for a person in their 20's.
I like The Piazza, it's a great concept but the vendors are closed a lot. Right now there is a lot of construction going on and it's difficult to get in but I think once things are settled it's going to be nicer.
Beautiful place to live, eat, shop and people watch. The gigantic screen t.v. in the courtyard is one of my favorite places to watch Philly sports.
Nice place. Lot's of restaurants around it. Big screen plays movies and games, music and dancing events are common even during winters...Awesome place to be!!!
Nice place for meeting friends to take a date or really any kind of socializing. There is a great variety of food options and weekend events.
Wahlburger restaurant the burgers fries and the burger bowl is mouth watering
Nice place to spend a night out. Live bands in courtyard. Also close to 2nd street which is always lively with small bars, restaurants, and shops.
Open plaza with a variety of shopping options and eating establishments.
Nice building in an up and coming area. Extensive renovations and added amenities in progress. Will be 5 stars when completed
Was definitely a nice place my girls were able to run around before we watched a big screen movie there very clean area
I moved in Sunday. I reported a few maintenance items and the next morning it was fixed! Wow, that was FAST! You guys are the BEST!!! 😊 …
All the restaurants and stores are closing. First PYT then Gunners Run, soon there won't be any places to eat other than Wahlburgers.
I love this place!!! Stores galore, big crazy large Tv for sports, and I mean crazy large..Chill, bring your things, and watch the largest outdoor tv you,ve ever seen
Good and clean area, can have fun with your friends and family members, while watching movies at open air theater. I like this place.
Large open area free of vehicles. Many live concerts here. Surrounded by restaurants and taverns. Something for everyone.
Cool place for drinks and enjoy some music
Cool place - we went to a movie night and was pumped to see they're bringing them back. Looking forward to more movies this summer.
Front desk concierge staff in the Navona building are super helpful and friendly; specifically, Donte, Johnny, and Troy!
Brand new, very clean, spacious, well planned, lots to do with shopping, dining etc.
I love it here. They have so many events for free and the restaurants aren't too bad.
It was HOT out when we went and some the vendors were closed down, but it was cute and clean.
Great place for community events.
Great area for music and many other things.
Was out there for Tech week.
Great outdoor space! Can't talk about the living spaces but the space is really cool with a lot of events.
The leasing agents are amazing, the pool is to die for. Walkable and wonderful place!
Great recreational and dining area!
Lots of choices among open airy restaurants. Also a good place to bring bae, the bestie or the baby!
Building is well kept and very clean staff is good . This place all in all is great to live at
Great place to hangout, eat, watch Tv on the big outdoor screen. A secret gem right in the neighborhood. I will be back.
I love this place! There is always something to do! One of my favorite places I think the city!
Such a cute apartment building, and super prime location.

Visited a neat little second hand store here offering up inexpensive used furniture and decor
Free movies in the summer. Antiques and record stores (a head shop). Good vibes.
Home of my favorite places wework!
It is a fine place to go to with friends and family but it needs more multicultural stores inside
Re/Max is an excellent office. Most of the people there you will love. ;))
I visited a friend who stays in one of the lofts, it’s pretty cool. #interiordesign
The music today ate the old classic music that the baby bummer enjoyed as were growing up...,,awesome
Neat place to hang out, l would have givin it 5 stars if parking was close
Rooftop balconies on every floor, clean, really nice building surrounded by good eats and drinks
It's glory days are behind it, but that might be a good thing. Pretty dead unless there's a big event.
Pretty cool place to shop, eat or just to chill with a friend or go solo!
Nice landmark to meet up with people. I wish they still had concerts though.
Nice Concept. Poor execution. Space feels cold, impersonal and generally uninviting.
This place used to be great. Many vacant store fronts now.
Fun place in the city to go when they have events in the Spring and Summer.
Trendy, little pricy, nice environment. Bathrooms need a lil attention.
Awesome place to hang out, catch a free movie and do some light shopping.
Known for happy hour and many places around to enjoy good food.
Great place for food & drinks. Plenty of good places to eat.
You really have to experience it for yourselves.Have a drink or a meal at one of its several contributing bar/restaurants like Gunners Run.
Great to have this sort of open area, but there needs to be more shade, particularly in the summer.
Nice place but finding parking is tough.
Another beautiful park to visit with kids when I Philadelphia
Very good urban living but was not finished by blatstien the developer.
I recognize the efforts of the maintenance there. The areas looks much better now
Great shops and restaurants. Apartments are kind of small.
Amazing place fun and friendly environment. Much to do
A shell of what could be. This complex desperately needs more businesses, but instead seems content in raising the rent.
Went to Gunners Run, Band Playing outside... It was awsome! I'll be back
Great venue for a concert. Johnny Showcase was phenomenal!
Clockwork Orange vibe, as it's commercial spaces are increasingly unoccupied.
Great open air space to watch TV or see a concert
Donte and Johnny are always professional and helpful for concierge assistance!
Fun to eat and walk. Must be a neat place to live.
We attended Pickledelphia and had sooooo much fun!
The Piazza feels like a waterpark that's been closed down.
I believe we stayed near there in an Airbnb that I gave an A+ rating to
Gift place to sit around talk look drink and have fun
Every event hosted here is sure to be a good time
Great community great place to be in all around entertainment
Kind of boring and quiet without any trees or wildlife to make up for it. Lolz.
Pretty cool place to chill with friends or a date...
Great ambiance...decor makes for easy browsing
