My sister and I had the pleasure of working with Natalie for our apartment search in Brooklyn. Since the beginning Natalie was always responsive and very communicative. She showed us the absolute best options for luxury 2 bed apartments in Brooklyn. When we missed out on apartment due to the high demand, she made sure we were next in line for another unit. Overall she was incredibly understanding and listened to the business side of the deal but also the emotional side that goes into choosing a home. I would trust her with my real estate needs and recommend her to anyone looking in Brooklyn.

I haven't rented in a number of years (we've been lucky enough to own) and so wasn't sure what to expect not only with the process of finding/securing an apartment but doing so from another state when moving to NYC. The folks at Rentopia made this process incredibly smooth, hassle-free and REALLY removed what could have been a lot of anxiety and challenges from a scenario that already had a lot built in (moving with a family of small children to a large city hundreds of miles away, etc). We first started dealing with Moti; he was warm, informative and went the extra mile...once we settled on our future apartment, we were working with Karin; she has been incredibly helpful on all fronts - information about the building/apartment/utilities/neighborhood - all of it! She was way more responsive and helpful (and just a decent human) than my wildest dreams would have been. If you're looking for an apartment, I would highly suggest that you use Rentopia (and try to work with Moti or Karin if you can!).

Overall, we had a great experience with Rentopia. Daniel helped us find a great place within our budget (with very short notice). He was very empathic and understanding towards our situation; which is not very common in this field. After staying in a hotel for a week, we toured two lovely apartments with him, he assured us that we would be able to move in within two days. Two days later, we are now able to relax in a very comfortable unit with spectacular amenities. The other employees we met at Rentopia were very nice and helpful as well. Alex is the best! He helped us find a luxury building within a few days and made it work very fast. We had a strict deadline & budget and he came through at ease. He understood our move in date from Manhattan to Brooklyn and he made the transition seamless and phenomenal. No complaints as it was a super fast closing. Be prepared to have a ton of proof and paperwork and while the app fee is $20 the lease drawing fee is $250. Just a FYI for future tenants.

I'm sharing my 5-star review of an experience we had renting an apartment through Karin Poli - she was incredible. Moving from out of state, we found it incredibly difficult to get responses about setting up virtual tours/having our friends tour units for us. Karin was the opposite, she was extremely accommodating in sharing a video, allowing us to make a deposit to take it off the market, and then opening the property over the weekend for a friend to come tour it while on Facetime with us. Karin displays the characteristics that can make a stressful apartment/hope shopping situation less stressful - she is friendly, an excellent communicator, and thorough with details about the units, the process, the fees, the landlords, etc. I can't recommend Karin enough. We found her because she was the listing agent on a property through StreetEasy, but we will definitely use her in the future when we move or are looking to buy!

Shay Dayan was an excellent and hard working broker with Rentopia! He is very responsive and efficient. He absolutely nailed it finding not one but two perfect apartments for me and my fiancé to choose from. Both spaces had all of our amenities we wanted on our “wishlist” PLUS MORE!! Finding an apartment in New York is VERY difficult and Shay made it so easy for us. My only constructive criticism is to make sure you as potential tenants have ALL your documents prepared that Rentopia asks for. Credit and Background checks are also done through Experian. As a native New Yorker potential tenants should also know the difference between Net Rent and Gross Rent. Some buildings management will not agree to allow tenants to pay Net Rent the whole year vs Gross Rent. Also be prepared to ask if you have to pay additional fees for example; application or Exclusive Listings with Rentopia. My only ask is for Rentopia to list the apartments on StreetEasy with Net and Gross Rent and to also list the apartments as Exclusive Listings so there’s no confusion when it comes to showings. And to also list clearly what ALL documents you need for the listings. We can not wait to begin a new chapter of our lives in this beautiful 2 bedroom apartment in an amazing building!!! Thanks to Shay!

I just signed my first NYC apartment lease with the help of Karin Poli, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my overall experience. I’m generally familiar with how apartment hunts go in highly competitive landscapes after having lived in a few cities (i.e. Toronto, Seattle, San Francisco) prior to my move.. but the pace in which the market moves in NYC is very fast-paced, the moment you hear back from an inquiry the apt is likely already in-contract or no longer available.. which can be very stressful Through some of this initial turbulence I’ve dealt with a handful of brokers who kept showing me places that did not fit my needs, so I’m very happy that I found Karin and this apartment. She was very prompt with replies, had prepared videos (which was highly helpful since I needed to sign something remotely), answered all my questions very thoroughly/ also knew all the facts about her listings, would give me great insights but never forced anything on me.. I met with no less than 8 brokers during my apartment search and was starting to lose patience and hope until I met with Alejandro (Alex) at Rentopia. When the building he originally showed me didn’t meet my specifications, he showed me four buildings that did, then negotiated with management to get me a deal that, even during Covid, was outrageously inexpensive and far lower than the original offer. The NYC housing market is savage trying to go it alone. Finding Dor through a unit I was curious about on Streeteasy was a light at the end of a dark tunnel after trying to schedule viewings on my own around BK and getting my heart broken by Listings Project (lovely apts that always moved SO fast). Dor was responsive, supportive, and answered all our questions. She showed me as many units as I needed to see to make a decision and was there end-to-end to ensure our successful onboarding. The only thing I wish was more transparent is that while there's no broker fee with Rentopia, there is a $250 legal fee for them to draft up the lease. I didn't realize this until AFTER we put in our good faith deposit to hold and apply for a unit. At that point, I wasn't going to pull out because we were tired and decided on this unit, but it would've been much more honest to tell folks upfront about this. I appreciate Dor so much, I just wish all the fees had been mentioned upfront.
