A colleague had experience with the company as a tenant and recommended them for the fact that they treated him well. I would recommend the company from the owner’s perspective because they are very well run, and have a great process for managing rental homes. When I moved to Nashville back in January 2020 covid 19 was slightly fresh and new. I was living in a uncomfortable hotel and the pandemic made it worse. I instantly moved out and started sleeping in my car. One day I went house hunting around the Antioch area and found a nice clean duplex for a reasonable price with Browning Gordon. For over two decades my family has employed Browning and Gordon to manage two properties we own or did own in different areas of Nashville. Having worked with four property managers, five assistant property managers, and an unknown number of maintenance workers during this time, I feel I can speak objectively from a property owner’s perspective about this company and the services they offer. When a unit is rented, it is always shown by their agent to the interested party. There is none of this, “The door is open, just walk on in and look around” I have heard about with other property management companies. Finances, criminal record, and past living arrangements are checked before renting in an effort to insure quality tenants for the property owner. Monthly and End of Year statements are emailed for your business records. Maintenance issues initiated by tenants and owners are addressed promptly by subcontractors that have worked, in many instances, with Browning and Gordon for years. I have used some of these people to personally work on my home. I believe tenants are satisfied with their living arrangements because most stay longer than one year at our rentals. In working with the array of individuals noted in the first paragraph, I have been very satisfied with the quality of services offered and administered by Browning and Gordon. To say there haven’t been “bumps in the road” when renting would be an error, but in our 23 year relationship in renting a house and a duplex through Browning and Gordon, they have maintained our friendship and trust. In conclusion, I highly recommend Browning and Gordon to others considering renting their residential property in Nashville and the surrounding area.

I have owned a duplex in Nashville for 38 years and have acted as manager and maintenance provider throughout that time. In the last 5-10 years things have changed in the way properties are rented. I have found it increasingly difficult to attract and keep good renters - Craigslist and other methods seem to be ignored by quality tenants and are used by people with marginal credit and integrity. The culmination of this declined occurred with 3 separate renters in 6 months, the last of which was so bad it took a lawyer to evict him and cost me well over $5000. I was referred to Browning-Gordon by a friend who was also overwhelmed by the problems with renters. I talked first with Beverly Browning. She could not have been nicer or more professional. She turned me over to one of her team, Teresa Cole, who now manages my property. I have been completely satisfied with their suggestions for maintenance, the thoroughness of their contracts, the amount of time to find new renters (less than two weeks for BOTH apartments), and especially the fact that the renters they find are of high quality and character. Teresa is wonderful and always on top of things. She is the contact and the renters deal with her exclusively. I retired from my other career as a teacher in May of 2018 and I feel like I have spent the majority of my time managing and worrying about being a landlord - those days are over. I now am FULLY retired! I am SO happy about this - one of the best decisions I ever made. I am happy to give Teresa and Browning-Gordon my highest possible recommendation!

If I have any issues or problems, all I have to do is put my maintenance request via online and they are resolved within 24hrs unless it was something that impossible to take care of in that amount of time. My family has rented a house managed by Browning Gordon & Co. since 2006. My experience & relationship with BGC has always been excellent. The property I rented was of good quality to begin with: interior painted in earth tones (not "landlord white"), wood floors (not ubiquitous "landlord carpeting"), functional appliances, zero pest problems (they send preemptive pest control service periodically), & they've always been friendly and professional to us. During the time we've lived here, all necessary maintenance to the property (HVAC, exterior, etc) has been performed prior to me requesting it (including a replaced roof). All work order requests I've put in have been handled in a timely, thorough and professional manner. When I speak to the property manager,about a specific issue- I have never had to discuss the same issue or submit a work order more than once. Teresa Cole is the real deal. Smart, friendly, professional Property Manager. (which can't be an easy line of work) In fact, everybody @ BGC does their job. (Imagine a world where everyone did their job...) We're on our 12th consecutive One-Year Lease. Our rent has increased a total of $105/month, -despite the Nashville market going up dramatically. I suppose we're good tenants, (always pay on time, try to take care of the place, communicate with the management company when necessary, etc.). BGC definitely holds up their end of the bargain. No question. As a result, this house is Our Home. (And we rent it! That's exceptional.) If I ever needed to rent another home, I'd call them first.
