A peaceful and supporting community! I stayed here for 10 years and I've received nothing but kindness from my neighbors. Children frequently play outside and have lots of fun, and communal events are common! Highly recommend!

Best experience I’ve had in a apartment. Kids at the near by school told my kid they got his back if anybody messes with him they got toys to protect him… cutest thing ever!! My neighbors came up to my door selling 25$ brownies. They said they were special because her son had made them for a scho project! Their is a beautiful noise that is in the walls all night sounds like the neighbors play music of animals to help sleep!!! I hear people singing upstairs f r e e fudge ninja free! I think that means they feel safe !! Overall it’s clean just sometimes I do see bugs in the hall way at night.. it don’t bother me. I think it’s from the door entry when people walk in and out. It looks like beetles but I’m not sure their is a lot of them and they like the dark.

The Parkway Gardens also know as O-Block or WIC City is a fascinating place to visit or live in. The people there are sweet and are very respectful. Parkway Gardens was former home to some famous figures such as former First Lady Michelle Obama, King Von and Chief Keef. At night time there is free firework shows, with sparks coming from all directions. There is also music at night when the locals gather together with each other. I feel very safe there , everyone has a legal conceal carry gun on them and are not afraid to use it if they need to. Overall great place and area to visit. I highly recommend!!!

I love this place so much! I met many nice men with fireworks in their pockets, they even taught me this weird secret handshake and sign. they even gave me then name "Lil Shoota" idk what that means but it sounds very cool!

Parkway Gardens is by far the most exhilarating place to visit in the southern Chicago area. Many of the residents and community members constantly asked if I was lost. I thought it was great that they were very caring and concerned for my well being as a tourist! Upon entering, several gentlemen with firearms approached me and asked where I was from. I think it's great to see Americans practicing their 2nd amendment right, a bunch of patriots interested in my background. Once I answered, they all shook my hand and told me "on all four them, you're good over here folks". They proceeded to give me a tour of the complex and offered marijuana cigars and cough syrup (weird) excessively. After a tour of the complex of being shown where many residents have died there, including some fellow named HK which they were VERY insistent did not die within the complex, but outside of it, and did have a gun on him contrary to popular belief that he was "pump faking"? Don't know what football has to do with this and I didn't understand but I didn't want to seem awkward, haha! Upon leaving, I was gifted with a pair of Tru Religion jeans and even got to experience a fireworks show. The police were very concerned for my safety and constantly asked if I was ok, why wouldn't I be? I had the time of my life! Definitely bringing the misses next time!

I’m thinking about telling my family to come here. But these people hate the people from 63rd idk why but they say that there ops idk how to say it. But yeah 11/10 I would recommend this apartments.

Highly recommend!! If you came here on a long road trip don’t worry about changing your tires yourself, lots of friendly men will offer to do it for you. I would recommend learning how to spin before coming here. I was asked to go over to 63rd street and “spin the block”, but I didn’t know what that meant. I think I was meant to go there and spin some clothes for the locals. The nights are the best part, with complementary fireworks nearly every night. I would recommend telling the locals that you are from 63rd, because then they will treat you nice. The locals are apparently good cooks because I asked them what their hobbies were and nearly all of them said they liked to “smoke opps” and “smoke duck”. I guess there is some good wild duck here because lots of them like to smoke it. One fine gentleman who told me his name was cheif keef gave me something he called a “strap” and told me to never get caught “lackin”. I’m not quite sure what that meant but I appreciated the free strap even though it looked quite like a black water gun.

I came here with my beautiful family of four, we met this crazy guy that goes by the name of Durk. He told us as our first mission to get a high quality paycheck for resort snacks we needed to 'smoke' fbg ducks 'pack'. I don't know what he meant by that but we found him and he shot alot at us. The armed security we were with " C Murda" ended up taking his Life. We got a good payout and they all praised us. The vacation was amazing. We ended up losing 3 out of our 4 kids. And they stole our cards. 10/10 Recommend

Beautiful residency with the kindest of neighbours. Many fun activities to do here, would 10/10 recommend. Felt very safe all the time, the summer camp teaches the kids crucial skills such as ‘trapping’ and ‘hiding sticks’. The kids loved it.

Chic contemporary housing for artists, the intersection of culture and music. Housed inside these gates are the smartest and most down to earth people you will find anywhere. The nightlife, regional hobbies such as “trapping out that b*tch” and “spinning dem blocks”, as well as the year round July 4th festivities really add to this little piece of Heaven in the Windy City. Feel free to bring family along, I’ll be the first to tell you even the kids can “hit a lick on the opps”. A definite bucket list item!

I actually don’t live here anymore but I still come and visit to enjoy the fireworks. Very peaceful and I feel well protected. Not sure who this Dave guy they bring up so much but when they bring him up it’s usually to confirm something is the truth. Whatever that means. They always like to joke around and say I look broke I’m definitely not one of the opps every time I come around to visit lol.

very wonderful neighborhood! Some young fine gentlemen came up to me asking me if I was lost and I surely was not lost but it was nice knowing they cared about me! Rooms are clean and the security roaming around every night make me feel very safe and comfortable. If your lucky you can hear the fireworks they set off around 3-5 days a week which is very awesome! Crime rates are low which is very nice and the young men representing their block is very cool! I love living here I brought my whole family to live here 10/10. Also some guy by the name of "Opp Smoker" came up to me and offered me a job as a security guard and even giving me my own gun for my protection and nickname! He told me to head over to 63rd as my first job and "spin the block" which I don't really know what that means but I'll for sure still go on ahead and do it!

very great place of intelligent youth! fireworks are very festive! everyone there seems to be a great chef as a lot of them say “smoking duck” i have never had smoked duck but it sounds very tasty! i highly recommend this place as its clean and welcoming. one gentleman even asked me if i was lost, i was not lost but its nice to know they’re caring!

Stayed at here for a while and was consumed by the lovely culture around me. it was really fun and exhilarating. The fireworks were the best part of Parkway Gardens. they got really loud and one even fired straight through my window, how fantastic and thoughtful of the neighbors. Would recommend a stay here very fun.

I took my family up here for thanksgiving to meet some family and was pleasantly surprised. From the time we drove through the gate, we had nice young men meet us willing to change our tires! They took them off for us and went to buy some new ones for us. The room was comfy, with a nice bed and wonderful neighbors! They were even making popcorn all night long which seemed weird. The next day we decided to venture out to see the family for thanksgiving. Before we left, those same young men decided they wanted to clean our room for “maid service.” As they were trustworthy before, we let them clean the room. When we returned we noticed a few things missing, but the young gentlemen mentioned it was just with the “gang” now. We weren’t quite sure what that was but we did know that it was under good hands so we trusted them with our belongings. The minute I drove through this gate I was greeted with great gratitude. If I could rate this place more than 5 stars I would! Totally recommend!!!

A very beautiful and amazing place. The neighbours are very welcoming and nice. There is an incredible firework show every night. There are also street performances. There is also a very professional security to keep you safe. They might even get your most valuable stuff to keep it safe. But if you go there you should be carefull where you park, because it seems that i have parked my car in a private parking spot and now its moved.

Amazing family friendly place! right upon entry a couple fellows insisted i give them all the money i had on me or else i would meet a gentleman named tooka, but i wasn’t interested in a meet and greet on day one so i politely declined. free firework show every night, very festive place that requires daily celebrations. rooms are cheap and security with guns seem to follow me to my apartment every night so i feel very safe not having to worry about crime.

Very high end exclusive luxury condos in the heart of Chicago. It is very quiet and peaceful! The community there welcomed me with open arms! It comes with amenities such as a luxury indoor poor, hot tub and a high end spa. Highly recommend this peaceful and lovely community. I’ve never felt more safe and welcomed here than any other place I have lived in 🤩🤩

The parkway gardens was one of my top 1 trips of all time. First of all there was a candy dealer who was kind enough to sell me a white powdery substance for $5 an ounce which was a great little courtesy. Honestly if i could rate 10 stars i would.

Beautiful neighborhood, spent the week here with my children and we all enjoyed the nightly fireworks. The free valets took care of my car and I felt very safe knowing they were armed and no one would get the car from them. All of the armed security guards seemed a bit unnecessary but them being in plain clothes helped the vibe. Would suggest talking to a man named Sosa, he did say he was a gorilla but otherwise we had a wonderful conversation.

This community is extremely beautiful! I mean truly a gem “ on foe nem” as the youngsters would say haha. But any-who its a well kept and peaceful community. Everything was so beautiful that I felt like I was at a resort. The neighbors are extremely friendly, and welcomed me with open arms when I let them know I’m not from 63rd.

Someone named Von is really big here, I think he’s from here. The fireworks and loud music makes sure that the party environment stays vibrant. After about a week or so I got used to it and got my nickname of Kane after hanging out with these guys that were really good at pointing and aiming their “sticks” I would recommend this place.

AMAZING APARTMENT BLOCK!!! Very family friendly. I am extremely happy with my neighbours. My daughter was offered candy by a gentleman named King Von and followed him to his apartment. That was 9 years ago and I have not seen her since. I am satisfied with the free babysitting service and special treats my baby is getting, the fact that she forgot to come back to me means she’s very happy!! My father is a WW2 vetran and my neighbours set off these super advanced fireworks with a flash followed by red droplets colouring the air from 1am - 4am to celebrate our freedom in America. I absolutely love the respect!! I was carrying my groceries back to my apartment when this generous young man came up to me and offered to help me carry some of my belongings up the stairs. I gave him my purse and told him my apartment number. He put them away and came back and informed me my shoes were untied. I could’ve tripped!! He pointed a metal thing with a hole at my head and snatched my bags of groceries and kindly carried those as well!! He desperately wanted to help me out!! All of my keys were in the purse and I could not get in, so I believe he even put my things inside the apartment!! I could hear multiple people talking and rapping inside, he must’ve put some music on to bless my ears. I knocked on my door to see if he was still in there and he opened it. The music was loud!! I loved it. He pulled out his metal device again and told me it is not safe for me here anymore and to leave and began counting down from 10. I thanked him and ran outside. I smelled smoke, there must’ve been a scheduled bonfire in the building. I have asthma so it would not be good for me!! I went to get my car to go to 7/11 but it wasn’t there. It had engine issues, I wouldn’t be surprised if the man took it to the shop as well!!! - Happy tenant

I hail from one of the safest cities in the world. Once I moved here I was mesmerised on how safe this area is compared to where I came from, I couldn't believe that some place would be so much safer than my old home! The gentlemen here are the most kind, thoughtful people in the world, they helped valet park my car but due to unfortunate circumstances it was not returned to me, but the gentlemen were very honest, saying that they lost it themselves. So considerate!

The best apartment complex in Chicago there is 24/7 protection there is people outside protecting the neighborhood with gun for the safety of everyone who live there. And it’s a great place for kids there is fireworks at night for the kids to in joy. I give this a 5 stars because is a great community to join and I hope you live longer.

WHEN I TELL YOU, BEAUTIFUL!! Me and my husband moved in about a week ago. OUR neighbors are the nicest people you will ever meet. One of them gave us a free pan of brownies that’s smelt amazing and the pan even had small specs of powdered sugar. The guy that lives under me does Valet parking and even comes to your apartment and ask for your keys and will park your car for you! Every night me and my husband get to here multiple fireworks and even get to here the police sirens go off. The teenagers in the neighborhood are so very nice as well. One of the teenage boys I met his name is “BIG RED” cleans my jewelry for me and I pay him. I highly recommend living here!!!!

One of the best apartment complexes in Chicago and possibly in America, everyone there is so nice and educated. Only problem is that once I asked a neighbor for a bag of sugar and when he gave it to me it did not taste good at all, the cake that I was baking wasn’t the best but oh well. Also I love how lit the neighborhood is, always hearing fireworks everywhere, it’s like a festival 🎉🎉, this makes me feel safe walking around at night knowing there are people having fun around me, so much positivity😊😊.

Where do I even begin? An online review does not even come close to my feelings of such a life changing experience. From the friendliest of neighbors, to the stargazing fireworks at nightfall, this was truly a moment I will remember forever. I had the grandest of opportunities to stay here but had to relocate due to work. Lamron and them will tell you, how thrilling, how impactful, how peaceful the environment here is. If I had the opportunity to live here once again, I would not second guess and take the opportunity ASAP! Truly the grandiose of residences I have stayed at.

Took my family up there and they loved it!! My littlest loved fireworks and he got to heard that every single night. I've heard something new called a opp, I don't know what it is but you bet I wanna find out!! Parkway Gardens is such a nice and friendly place with kind neighbors. A couple of them helped clean our room and we noticed some things were missing. My silly son he always misplaces things!! 100% coming back and recommend to all.

Me and my husband held our wedding here and it was just beautiful. The neighborhood folks all showed up and they said that they were going to “pop us.” I think that means popping champagne on our very special day😁. After the wedding we went home that night to hear the beautiful noise of fireworks outside. It made our day one we would never forget. 100/10 visit. Definitely going to come back!

This place is awesome! I love it here! Fireworks, beautiful cars (Dodge Hellcats)! The neighborhood folks are so accommodating and nice! One even valeted my car for me! Every night there’s a beautiful fireworks display but I think my window blocks my view of it:( Amazing place with great people!

Such a nice place to live I rented a spot here for a couple of months and the people here are amazing they hold crate challenges, give back to the community and there are a lot of beautiful women walking around here. Plus if I’m lucky my car will be in the parking lot already warmed up and no worry about anyone coming here robbing me or my family because they are armed with various guns. I never have to go the pharmacy because there is one right in my backyard I also love the store right next to it so many interesting people in there. Other than the high rent I love this place and recommend you to live there!

Most definitely one of the friendliest communities me and my family have lived in. Truly feels like a gated community. Security guards armed with glocks patrol the area 24/7 and ensure safety. This community also seems to be celebrating thanksgiving 365 days a year as you can hear fire works all night long! People here truly care about their health as I’ve seen them selling some sort of green herbs, most likely for their tea. Such great people and a safe space!!

Very safe neighborhood! They seem to be really invested and dedicated to giving “ops” some popcorn! I hear them cooking it up all night! A sweet group of gentlemen to hang around with! The police even come for the popcorn after it’s cooked! The police seem to be very close to this community because they come over so often! They love to point laser pointers through windows! This must be their way of communicating with each other when they want to play!

5 stars it’s so wonderful! It’s 50 or 60 bodyguards outside with rifles and pistols 😃 with “extended mags” listening to something called crazy story 😅they have friendly get togethers and pop fire crackers while we’re sleeping. I guess they get along well with the cops and ambulance since they’re here so much. Some nice guy changed our tires and went to buy some new ones unfortunately we had to leave to go back to Memphis before they could bring the new ones back even tho we waited 3 weeks oh well. But it was amazing and we also had 3 of our family members to go explore “heaven” since they didn’t “give me your money or die” but I haven’t seen them since we came. 5 star experience oh and “we are not from 63rd” 🙋🏽‍♂️

This place is incredible! Nice community of people who love to help each other out. The Valet parking was also quite a nice touch! There is security day and night, so you'll feel very safe staying at this location. I also met a very nice young man by the name of "Sosa" who loved to express his distaste for being sober!

This is a great place to move your family too and have them growing up here! Very safe place for the youth. Ever since I moved here my family has loved it my wife says she loves something called a “train”which she said are very enjoyable my kids love it here too as I see my son has became just like the other people around here helping people out lighting up fireworks every night this is like a resort I am blessed too live in a home like this!!

Parkway Gardens is an amazing place for children! Me and my family plan to sleep in there clean hotel rooms for the New Years and hear the really loud amazing firework's. The Individuals there were so nice and genuine. Every time i would come there to have a good time I Would always hear Fireworks and it is a beautiful ambient sound. This is a great place for raising family's, and kids. Me and my family have loved our trips to Parkway Gardens AKA "O'Block".

Amazing area for a home! Felt very welcomed when I first moved in when a resident asked me if I needed any "white china". I appreciated the offer because I just bought some new silverware and plates the other day! Terrific firework shows can be heard every night, and parts throughout the day, Makes me wonder how they get so much fireworks?, but it gives a heightened mood for me and my family. I love it!

Great place to visit with family the local security are very helpful also some of the young men ask to take my daughter off our hands I thought that was nice as she needs knew friends. The fireworks 🎆 show every night is a beautiful scene. Make sure you dress nice and ask any of the locals for directions or help they are very friendly and love it when you greet them with the words "I'm from 63rd".

I love this place beautiful fireworks, nice young man, security very high and armed and even nice neighbors a street over clean place i lost 10,000 dollars but i probably gave it away because i so nice when im drunk but enough about me. i would leave a new born baby out and trust it to be safe. Absolutely amazing place to live. Great place for children to live. I even hear there is a slide named "durk slide for von". Amazing!!! Apparently our community has a small rivalry with 63rd. It seems very playful and I heard they love setting off fireworks to compete with each other!!!!!!

Beautiful residence!! Me and my family of 6 went here on a holiday getaway and let me tell you.. it was splendid!! There are fireworks that go off every night and 24/7 protection with young gentlemen walking around with guns looking after the locals. First day we arrived a young gentleman asked to take my brand new BMW on a test drive, he must have gotten lost as he hasn’t come back yet… poor guy hopefully he finds his way back safely 😊. I see a lot of people trading items for money, must be a local tradition. Also, everyone here seems to have the same foot size as always when I’m walking around exploring the neighborhood every person I run into days that my shoes look like they would fit them. 127% would recommend visiting if you have kids.

This was definitely my favorite weekend get away spot everything was a good sight to see, heavy protection and security also so no worries about anybody breaking in your room. A lot of dreadheads there so you might not fit in right away but they are very welcoming, first time visitors get a free gift with ah extendo. 10/10

To start it off, not only did this place give me a wonderful place to live, but the community is so friendly! The friendships I have built here I will never forget. My most memorable moment is when my family and I were invited to "Spin the block of 63rd" on the first day of our arrival. It seemed like I was part of the family already, but wasn't quite sure what exactly it meant. UNTIL we got there! We arrived on 63rd and was greeted by a group of young gentlemen who claimed to volunteer at a local church! What nice community members. Shortly after when dusk arrived, the group of gentlemen lit off fireworks for all of Chicago to enjoy! Not to mention, the security surrounding the place was just astonishing. They also loved to shoot fireworks! The next morning I met a nice young man named 'Dayvon Bennett', he toured me around Parkway Gardens and we just had a great time. I don't know about you all, but I'm a HUGEEE Lil Durk fan (OTF for LYFE), and I got to meet him at the establishment! (Copped a BMW, new deposit, I picked up another bag). Overall, 10/10, I definitely recommend you bring your entire family here for vacation!

This place is amazing, by far better than any other complex in the area. I genuinely felt safe and protected by the iron bars on the windows. The toilet was a bit clogged, but was fixed by the incredibly generous custodian. The rooms were very clean. I love seeing fast cars like hellcats and trackhawks, they were all over the place! Easily a 5 star place, I would recommend 100%.

Absolutely wonderful! Great place to raise a family. You save lots of money on electric bills because you don’t need tv’s here; they have firework displays every night! I love strolling through the neighborhood at night and seeing the beautiful lights from the fireworks! The neighbors here are pleasant as well! They do carry handguns on them as a part of what I assume is the neighborhood watch. To add on, they gave me a complimentary car when I first moved! Anyways, I’m just trying to say that Parkway Gardens is a beautiful and luxurious spot, perfect for raising a family!

Now this place is a place like no other. Came here to visit last summer. Once I arrive to the block I was greeted with talking squirrels and singing birds. It’s was a musical, all the hood dudes pop out and started to tap dance and sing “ 🎶Welcome to O block”🎶. I was overwhelmed with the joy and greetings from the entire neighborhood and local animals. Hell yeah I recommend anyone to visit or live, boy did I have fun . 😊, check out pics of the friendly musical of the natives greetings us, we enjoyed so much we hung out all night.

Clean, safe environment perfect for raising a family. Neighbors are incredibly generous, offering me grape soda and oregano. Many call it the “0 Block” because of how many crimes take place here (0). I even met the Chief of the local police force, Mr. Sosa! I find the ambience of firecrackers to be quite welcoming, and it warms my heart to hear the joy of my neighbors celebrating. I sure hope to hear more during the upcoming holidays! Toodeloo!

This place is very lovely! They accept everyone. I’ve never been but I’ve always wanted to take a little vacay here. They have really nice security and they always carry which makes me feel safer. It’s one of the safest parts of Chicago and the police are always around here speaking with the residents and having a good time. Sometimes the police like to play around and like to play tag where tag with the residents.

If you’re looking for a nice, fancy, luxurious, and amazing place to live at then this is the place. I love living here. This is the safest community i’ve ever lived at, once I left my Mercedes unlocked and came back an hour later to find a generous guy about to go park it for me at some place in a different city, nice free valet! If you like fireworks there are always fireworks at night time! Also some nice person was willing to give me used tools for free!!!

One of the best times of my life and a home to many famous celebrities. The hallways had a fresh dank musty fragrance and the yellow paint on the walls were absolutely beautiful. There are so many small businesses setup within this wonderful community. A+

This place is absolutely amazing! The neighborhood is extremely safe and the residents are very friendly! I was sitting on my balcony and heard a man walk in while saying “I’m from 63rd, and I’m a BDK” and the residents started lighting off fireworks out of pure happiness that we were going to have a new person joining our complex! Everybody is so kind to one another! 10/10 would recommend! I would also recommend listening to a local artist called “FBG Duck” during the late night hours while strolling through the complex … it makes everybody light off their own fireworks out of sheer joy!

The O Block is definitely a place to take you family. It is enriched in culture of the very beautiful Chicago. Almost every other hour people shoot fireworks and have fun with others. People are so polite and friendly that any bad interaction is resolved with a happy firework fest. I once had a neighbor who was recording a a music video, which was talking about how great his home “the 63rd” was. Many people gathered around and praised his thoughts and wise words with fireworks. Couldn’t ask for a better vacation to get away from all of the drama back at home

i’ve been living here for 6 years and its been amazing every night theres a firework show going on! although it takes some getting used to i remember meeting this nice kind man that goes by the name of chief keep and he introduced me to the neighborhood when i first moved there ! They have a pool, garden, playground everything! its super peaceful and quiet no shouting, sound proof walls, Freshly installed hardwood. Just perfect. Move here if you can!

This is one of the Best places on Chicago. The owners have probided 24/7 security with one of the best private security on USA. The neighborhood has a high music love and they throw free firework shows every night. I paid for the worst apartment and it had a pool, a jacuzzi and 4 bedrooms. Young gentleman wonder the streets for money to donate to churches and charitys. It has the lowest crime rate in the state. Definitely recommend it.

A lovely apartment complex with beautiful architecture and shockingly cheap rent. Very family friendly and extremely safe. Everyone here carries a gun and is very dedicated to keeping criminals away or “ops” as they call them. One of the few places that has free valet. Also a very business friendly community as you can always see people buying little bags on the street. One complaint is that people’s cars constantly backfire at night but the police usually show up afterward to reprimand them which makes me feel safe. People here have a strange distaste for the number 12 as they can commonly be heard yelling “f**k 12”. Would defiantly recommend for families.

Great Place to live, I’d Work here as a Janitor with Mufasa Wopson mopping the floors of the O as the local Residents would call it. The security in this place is outstanding, the amount of body guards toting there guns to make sure no intruder gets the drop on the residents is pleasant, sometimes while working the night shift a musical group “O-Block” would bless us with a private show singing classics that rival the poetry of Shakespeare. I would often here fireworks in the city, and someone saying “yeah yeah yeah”. 10/10 would recommend to everyone.

When I first visited this area I was visited by three young men asking me for some money, I of course gave them some as they were probably volunteering for the church and asking for donations. When I got to my apartment, it looked very cozy, the bed looked nice, the living room and kitchen areas were quite spacious, and it had a bathroom with a shower. Not only that but when I went to sleep for the first time there, it sounded like people were making popcorn downstairs, and I feel them, the popcorn at the movie theatres are very expansive, and I'm sure those great young men don't want to spend that type of money. I would totally recommend checking this place out as there is a very low crime rate, there are lots of people here so it's easy to make friends, and there is lots of catchy music to listen to here as the people love to play music, so if you are looking for a safe place to stay in Chicago, then this is the place for you.

A stunning gated community, as well as friendly neighbors and great community gatherings. I enjoy having a good walk in the neighborhood without being bothered even with a bag on me. Highly recommend living here it’s such a wonderful peaceful place. The garden area is just AMAZING, I am blown away over how well it is kept up! Such a nice place to live. The first day I moved in I was given the nickname goofy and buford as a term of endearment to welcome new residents. Everyone here is very welcoming here. Management accommodates your needs. If you need a vest or some heat for the cold weather there is always someone willing to lend it to you.

Everyone is so nice , puts you in the mind of a 5 star hotel. I was greeted by a few gentlemen wearing all black asking for my purse. Well who am I to turn down a gentleman especially with the way the treat the black generation. Not to take up time But at night there’s a ray of sparks with a loud Boom the told me “Opp watch” some kind of protection service. all in all 10/10 I highly recommend. Still haven’t got my purse back tho.

Free fireworks, Free “White China”, Free “tools”??? Everything in this area seems to be free. Now that I mention it, I’m about Crime FREE at this point thanks to the people in this area. I’ve come to really like the black folks with tattoos on their faces and necks as they seem to be some type of tailor as they ask about my body measurements. Asking for my shoe size, and shirt and pants size, I’m expecting some type of Christmas present from anyone of them as seeing the holidays are coming up. Its a place where you can easily miss all of the fun. My wife and their so called “gang” seem to always leave my wife so dirty as she’s covered in a white substance making me feel bad as they’ve had just left my place, taking the fun with them. All in all, one of the top places I’ve ever visited, more exciting that trip I took to Detroit where there’s nothing BUT danger

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE WILL RETURN AGAIN !!! the people here are always so friendly they constantly asked me where I was from and who I knew, Probably to help me out if I got lost. Almost everybody around here would always ask If I needed anything that they got me 24/7. I Didn't get to meet " ops" in my time staying but this was a extremely popular fellow because the whole neighborhood would scream his name whenever they saw him. Clearly everybody is vaccinated here because there are needles everywhere, I felt so safe from covid because everybody wears a masks all the time even in cars sometimes I would see a fine fellow wearing a mask just to go into a corner store at 3 in the morning !!! I cant wait to return to O block again defiantly bring the kids next time.

OMG!! Very Beautiful Complex! Hospitality was Awesome from start 2 finish! The apartments are very clean & was very Luxurious. The fast food places close by were so Fantastic! It provided both alcohol & non-alcohol ie. Coffee ☕ soda & water, which I absolutely liked! & along in this minibar were some yummy snacks 😋! Ps I loved the Design & Dėcor!! Absolutely great job! Very amazing and safe place!! I moved here about a month ago, my neighbors are very kind and even refer to me as “Lil youngin that ain’t from 63rd” I feel very safe here knowing my neighbors all have glocks with drum mags to protect me and my family. They also have many celebrations, with the fireworks I hear at night. Also my neighbor, Davious jr, also listens to songs by a man named “Von” at 2:00 AM every night, then he leaves his apartment, and I hear him celebrating with fireworks! Very amazing place, I would definitely recommend moving here to build amazing relationships and for a safe place to live!

When I moved into this neighborhood, I thought the worst. Little did I know what was ahead of me, a beautiful neighborhood with people outside everyday playing military type games. They seem to be really dedicated to role playing! They even end the night with fireworks and yelling with (what I assume great joy). There’s 4cm holes everywhere that make for a great cigarette garbage can. They even ask my shoe size and how much my watch costs. A very loving environment to say the least.

This place is very unique. 100% recommend living in this friendly hood. They are all like brothers and sisters to you. Lots of people setting off fireworks and they have really nice neighbors on 63rd street that also set off fireworks. They ask what’s cracking a lot and what shoe size I am, they really look out for you. Overall this place is nice and clean, smells really nice definitely not like weed and it has lots of 4 centimeter holes everywhere.

Place was better than Mexico. Instead of flying 6 hours to Mexico, took my kids to the Parkway Gardens. They had a firework show every night, valeted cars for free, one great gentleman asked me who I banked and told me he can make me 5,000 overnight. I lost a few of my items but that's probably because I misplaced them. 11/10 experience.

Guest Peking was amazing, the views were magnificent! The place is extremely safe, and they hire young men to guard the grounds during the night, wonderful experience! What a beautiful complex. Everyone here is extremely nice. I notice they have a lot of security guards here. That made me feel really safe. They even have guards as young as 15 & 16 years of age. I like the fact that they stay heavily armed. You definitely can't go wrong moving here, especially if you're not from 63rd. They also have valet parking. How wonderful is that ! This place is nothing like it is on the news. All i see are friendly african american folk that express their second ammendment rights! I loved the fireworks at night-time as well since its hard for me to sleep without any background noise the fireworks and sirens made it so that i felt right at home. BEST NEIGHBORHOOD I EVER BEEN TO! When i first arrived i was wearing a blue and red outfit and a gentleman came up to me and gave me a all black outfit it was very put together i loved it. The next morning my car was gone but a man came up to me and said that the police took it but are bringing it back later that day i was happy to hear. At night there was fireworks going around and kids crying of joy it was lovely. Definitely recommend going here the people here are lovely and honest!

When i first moved in King Von(rip) took me over onto some dude named Gleesh place and i had 50,000 dollars on me and I said I wanted a gun, he said get a crate, but I wanted to throw some ones and Gleesh said no you ain’t.. The fireworks were amazing!!! The kids are so receptive of my little boy.. I didn’t see the playground yet but they invited my kid to go slide with them. Such a lovely bunch.. I’m originally from Texas so I hunt deer during deer season.. But here, these guys keep trying to get me to go hunt duck.. I’m enjoying it here so far.. This place was extremly comfortable. Its really good for a low income apt. The residents there are really nice and so are the locals. Not to mention you can hear fireworks. Visited my family for Thanksgiving here, felt like absolute royalty! As soon as I arrived, I had a young man valet my car, and bring my belongings down. I felt very safe walking thru here, many security guards placed around and it’s also good to see that they're fluent in sign langue and able to assist the deaf. Walking thru here is also very nice as there is always music playing, although the lyrics are a bit graphic and of not my taste, still a nice addition. The locals that live here have a nickname for the place which is “O’block” which I find very cute! Many active men during “rec time” as well, had lots of fun playing ball. One thing that stood out to me is that many of the locals love to say their disapproval for “63rd”. Do not question them but other than that, lovely place!

I recently was in Chicago for business. I got lost driving and ended up in this charming neighborhood. I loved that they don’t have much light pollution and people felt comfortable letting their kids just be outside. Kids spend to much time inside playing violent video games. They were out playing some sort of hide and seek every time a car drove by. I’m loved it here. Property values were low. Buy now. Use a local realtor. I used GDK if I’m not wrong. Everyone kept saying it so I assume they were realtors since they would say it along with O Block.

I had a wonderful week spent here. My wife had heard a recommendation from a young man named Von and he said it was like Vegas! That made me perk up and boy let me tell you, it sure was like Vegas. They valet parked my car, and helped with my luggage, poor guys must’ve got lost in the resort because my bags never arrived at my room haha. The kids had a great time watching the locals shoot dice even though they had no tables. There was even a car show one of the evenings, lots of young men in Dodge Charger hellcats showing off their rides before “spinning the block on the opps”. I have no clue what they meant but they seemed to all speed off towards 63rd pretty quickly. They all traded little trinkets for fairly large sums of money, seems like it’s a local tradition around there. The local youth seemed pretty set on protecting everyone as they all “tote straps” as they say. The only gripe I had was when one of the young men came up to me and made sure I wasn’t “one of them BDK bitches” and that I wasn’t from 63rd. Seems they don’t like 63rd very much. All in all a great trip. Would recommend.

Holy Moly what an expirience gol-lee! I mean the scenery is such a wondrous treat! Theres a lot of folk that fancy rock collecting and even trade them with others! The people are very wholesome one even said,"What you want cracka?" but I wasn't hungry but I was so warmed that he offered! There are many extra cirricular activities to do such as numerous clubs that even get in little battles with each other! I'm confused on who this fellow "Durk" is and "why he won't slide for von." Maybe I could assist them in their "sliding." Anyhow the community is very loving and they even gave me a little bandana from when they played capture the flag (I got blue!).

I think Parkway Garden Homes is the epitome of American hospitality. The HOA in this area comes with 24/7 armed security and any threats to the complex will be immediately dealt with. They do such a good job its no wonder the police doesn't show up in this area often! The people are very nice here as one time when my wife was at home, our water system wasn't functioning and some of the residents offered to give her some pipe. Prior to coming here, I didn't know there were such amazing plumbers! There are also free fireworks all night and good music being blasted (my personal favorite being a rapper by the name of FBG Duck). Many famous people have grown up in this area and gone on to do better things like Derrick Rose, Anthony Davis, Chief Keef (I assume a Native American tribal chief) and even Michelle Obama herself. If you're still not convinced about the kindness of the people here, this area is nicknamed O block after the death of a resident named Odee, which I think is a sweet gesture. This place is some of the finest that America has to offer, no lie (or as the locals would say, on foenem grave). Pro Tip: Scream "I'm from 63rd" and you will quickly make friends.

Immediately pulling up we saw the armed security guards and the valet they were very kind and said valet was free. Still haven’t gotten my car back btw but that’s besides the point. We talked to the security guards and they did not like the number 12 very much and thought Us some new sign language they told us about their rival football team called 63rd they told us If we where from 63rd they would pop us i don’t get the reference but we invited our favorite security guard Qua to our wedding and he came cannot recommended this place enough 10-10

Extravagant….. I took me and my family to the parkway garden apartments and I must say I was very concerned at first because of all the stories about the so called “Oblock” but when I arrived, there were I was greeted by 5 men from the set “GDk” which people had told me was a gang but I would later be informed it was actually a synchronized swimming team for the apartments and were even willing to teach my son lessons. The swim instructors were exceptional. My children look forward to attending the next two glasses. We were also really pleased with the front door staffing, the cleanliness of the overall facility as well as the safety around all the pool areas.

So I just want to start this out with, Don’t listen to these reviews. They are trying to underplay how nice it is here. These guys let me move into there house rent free! I didn’t even have to ask. They were kind enough to grab me themselves. I do recommend you bring a light though it is rather dark in here. Also make sure you pack a lunchbox, not sure if they have cooked yet but they haven’t brought me food in a while.

The Parkway Gardens, otherwise referred to as OBLOCK, are the perfect example of a well built community your kids should grow up in. While your kids arrive they’re greeted by popular people such as a Mr. Soda? And a Dirk and Mr. Bon. Then as you stroll through you see stacks of money and plenty of armed men showing how safe and secure you are. Finally the hellcats in the parking lot are a MUST-SEEE. I remember growing up here as a kid and my dad went to get milk. Then heard someone yell " That's him folk" then they light up some fireworks. I guess my dad went to get some but he never came back. While I grew up there I met some respectful people like my friends Dayvon, Keith and my other friend that I'm close to until this day, Durk Banks. We all grew up and had a pet peeve for a kid name Tooka. Long story short, great environment, great music and good people. Highly recommend 11/10.

One of the hidden Gems in Chicago. Everybody here is full of joy and very welcoming! Upon visiting they asked if I was "7-4" assuming they were referring to my age, I said "No silly, I'm 24" and they all erupted into cheering and praising me. The community members are very fond of some guy named "Dave" they say his name 3-4 times a sentence. They even taught me this really neat handshake and gave me the nickname of "Lil Folks"

Hello. I would kindly like to recommend this affordable housing to anyone in the Chicago area as this residence is a hidden gem. The neighbors are extremely friendly and often refer to me as “folks”. Also I might add that the residents here think I’m quite funny. Although I don’t consider myself that much of a humerus person, I get referred to A lot as a “straight goofy”. They also have a a nice home owners association that they refer to as the “nation”. Also if you have certain disabilities such as def no need to worry. The locals use sign language quite often and often say hi by holding up a hand with all fingers extended, putting the thumb down, and then putting the extended fingers up and down In a repetitive motion. The locals call it “cracking foes” which basically is their own regional way of saying hello. Love this place….although I do find it quite odd the residents won’t let me walk to the neighboring street of 63rd. When i asked one guy why i was forbidden to do so he responded “bitch stop playing with me”. Not sure what that was about.

Boy let me tell you a little about the “O” as some call it, I love this place and have been living with my kids here for 8 years, my kids are 10 years old and they always call me “Foenem” lol kids these days with there silly names. Anyways the basketball players in this area are great, my kids always come home screaming how they are shoota and they hate 63rd, they must be there rival basketball team!!! Everyone should live here it’s great!!!!

Very safe place to live. My neighbors on 64th st seem very serious about exercise as they often ask me what I rep. A quite mean young fellow who asked me to call him "tooka" a few years back explained his hatred for 64th street at a bus stop. The screams of people setting off fireworks every night are very calming and peaceful. A lot of the walls need to be finished painted because the painters leave red paint splatters on the wall. A nice lad named "booka" assuming he is the brother of "tooka" explained how he had a strong dislike for 63rd st. Amazing amenities it easily is the best resort I've been to my whole life and very affordable there is around the clock security they regularly do security checks all you have to say is your not from 63rd and they say don't be lacking. They don't like a young man named tooka so don't bring him up to them they all worship a young man named sosa especially the women the neighborhood is very wealthy I've seen several people with hellcats and what they call a Bentley truck they are very elegant and everyone has a very expensive o block chain i think that is their church group.

What a beautiful place! There was lots of happy faces!! My child is relaxing at the preschool care center!! I take relaxing naps in the pool, while my husband and I go on relaxing dinners together while a beautiful soundtrack plays! So many wonderful memories have been made here at the precious beautiful Parkway Gardens! I really love the flowers & murals! Some of the finest I’ve ever seen. Truly an astonishing and beautiful place. I loved the green stuff I found lying on the ground! A new flower called “Tooka” I presume. A lot of beautiful videos being filmed too. A truly amazing place. I can’t recommend it enough. Whether you are a single mother, family or any living condition, Chicago’s finest Parkway Gardens are for you! I also love all the beautiful “shoooooters” around. It is security, who are there to protect you (not that there is any crime in the area). Area is VERY safe. If anything goes down, the suspect would be caught immediately. Only one thing , from my sons preschool, Someone tried to break in one time and stole all the children’s lollipops!!! His name was Sadiki so if anyone sees Sadiki please turn him into the Chicago Police Department!! (or as we call them, the Parkway Patrol). Aside from the minor issue, Parkway Gardens are 10/10. This was the best and life changing experience I could have had. The people here really care about you and often ask if your lost and they asked me what my shoe size was, I’m a size 11 and they told me to run my kicks witch I assume means they are really good running shoes. During my time there I met a really nice person, his name was Derek Banks, However some people were mad at him for not sliding for von, witch I assume that von means 2nd base and he plays baseball. In all this was one of the best places I’ve had the opportunity to live at and I would recommend to any person trying to raise a family.

Also there is many security in this neighborhood therefore rarely any crime happens. Therefore I never felt more safer to sleep at night than ever. In addition the community is always helping the youth by forming big brother groups to help the youth to get money the right way and live a better life.Moreover this place is safer than Beverly Hills. As someone who has lived in the California Suburbs and has traveled from country to country, Parkway Gardens will always have my heart. I moved here about 5 years ago, the nice young men were nice enough to park my car for me! I have yet to see the car after 5 years, but I bet they are just keeping up with it. Shoot! I even had a few young men move my stuff out my house for me at 4 in the morning even though my lease wasn’t up yet! Everyone talks about the fireworks, but have you seen the beautiful artwork. It’s like a Picasso! Red paint everywhere! When I walk to work, I make sure to tell the nice tenants that I am NOT from 63rd and they always tell me that they understand. I love this place! The amenities are amazing! Very family friendly and safe environment for the young ones to grow up. The personal trainers here are jacked! They always refer to our workout sessions as “rec time” which is unique! I think a lot of them also work as police officers because I notice they all have guns on them, which makes me feel even safer!

Highly recommend! There are guards everywhere, even as young as 14! They carry their big guns around, and one of these prestigious young men took my credit card! We even got to take a big group photo, with them waving their weapons around! So fun! Another bonus is that they all seem to be familiar with sign language!

I love love LOVE this place!! It is located right in the lovely scenic neighborhood of Greater Grand Crossing (which is the best neighborhood in the city!) The people here are so nice! One time one of the fine gentlemen here took my car keys because he wanted to go get my car washed for me. How nice! I picked up some pretty neat slang from them as well. If you are lucky enough to rent here, I totally recommend it "on foe 'nem" 😄 On a sidenote, an inside joke is to say "I'm not from 63rd Street". They seem to really love to hear that! They also love to play with nice toy water guns and even buy their children some to play with too!

Parkway Gardens, colloquially known as “The O-Block”, is a fabulous little gem of a neighborhood located off the interstate in Chicago’s South Side. The locals appear to be very festive as they love to put on delightful fireworks shows every night (and sometimes during the day too!). If you say you are from 63rd they will treat you with great respect and as a guest of honor to their area. In addition to this, the teens here are extremely thoughtful of the disabled, as they all appear to be fluent in sign language! So considerate of their deaf friends. If you are hard of hearing this place is definitely worth a look. Also, this “‘hood” has produced some of today’s finest poets, like Miniature Durkenheim and King Trayvon VII, which lets you know it’s a reputable area. All in all, Parkway Gardens is one of the best neighborhoods in the entirety of the Chicago metro. I only gave it four stars, however, because the valet service was below par in my opinion. A fine young gentleman wearing all black took my car, but I have not received it since. Can I please get it back? That was an expensive Yaris...

Living here is truly one of a kind & epitomizes a true Chicagoan experience. Monthly HOA covers the 24/7 armed security force along with complimentary fireworks nightly. I’ve always wanted to live presidential and after hearing Michelle Obama used to live here, this is about as close as I can get to this dream of mine. I've been to multiple parts of the world, such as every Disney Resort, 5 star hotels in Mexico and Bora Bora. But one thing I can say about this place. Has them all beat! I'd never stay in another "fancy" resort when you have this fantastic place! They keep doing these weird peace signs with their hands, a lot of people seem to have some sort of muscular anomaly happening with their hands. I always donate to someone, they always ask for a $20 and I'm always happy to contribute to the society. I mean dang, I even let someone borrow my car that is how much faith I have in these people. (I have yet to get it back after 8 months) But these people are like family!

As of late we've seen to have an influx of pigeon populations. The locals are taking good care of them. The BDs there truly know how to have fun as well. Very nice place, recently moved out a mansion to move to the gardens very nice. The people there always asking what I rep? Like what gang I am or something like that, maybe they want to know if we are the same culture. They often ask what size shoe I wear seems nice because they might buy me shoes. Every night they set of fireworks they can actually be heard every night like they're celebrating 4th of July. Sometimes there are people lying on the ground with ketchup on them, they're probably sleep and someone pranked them. Kids having the time of their lives playing with toy guns. They often ask what block I'm from they said 63rd people are the nicest and sweetest people. They said they will give me a heater some sort of weapon they call it out here, probably like a nerf gun or water gun. They say alot of slangs like "on foe nem" which is the way they talk which is nice because they started their own language. They usually talk about how they gone make it out the hood which means they gone be known and rich when they move. Usually the whole population of O block is African American, everyone is nice and looks out for each other. Overall I give this a 5 out 5 rating you should definitely visit sometime bring your child or a relative for a good time.

This place is a very welcoming and secure place! There is a group of people called "BDs" and they seem like very energetic and docile people:). Once I arrived they greeted me with nerf guns and asked if I'm from the place "63rd" I guess they don't take things lightly from people of that place. However you will hear a lot of people say "smoking tooka" I'm not sure what that is but I assume it's a new strand of marijuana. If its past 8:00 you will hear alot of fireworks and screaming. I guess it's some type of celebration which is understandable but I woke up with 9mm holes in my window and car! What a celebration right?! Theres another young group of people called "GDs" and they dont take lightly to them. Their founding father "Odee" must've been very important due to his role nick naming the gardens. 10/10 living area

Amazing place to raise a family, everyone are acquainted in some way. The adults even let the teenagers play with them in airsoft wars against the opposition team from E 63rd St! They let off fireworks EVERY night, sad to hear about Dayvon though, he was my favorite soccer player. King Von is dead lol (lots of love).

Beautiful neighborhood, located in the heart of the southside of Chicago. Close to public transportation, restaurants and Nightlife. So awesome that the nightlife is right outside your barred windows. Its so comfortable that you should sleep on the floor away from the windows. Your neighbors are some the elite men of the nightlife scene. Parkway gardens also have outdoor sports, football which would be to your delight, parkway team Oblock always wins 6-24. They even have pole jumping but the 63rd street hypes never seem to jump over the gate smh strange *shrugs*. Recently they lost 1 of the parkway saviors "King Von" so things are kinda quiet these times. No fret tho, the fireworks and Nightlife scene will return after the mourning. This is a wonderful gated, guarded complex! They have several armed, undercover guards, some even fine young men. This makes me feel very safe. They even havespecial valets going around! But, this is a very close knit community who isn't to comfortable with new-comers. Just say, "I'm not from 63rd" and that, for whatever reason gives these wonderful peoplese curity. Enjoy!

I was living in Beverly Hills a few months ago until I heard about this place. I decided to check it out and I was amazed, so I decided to pack my bags and move here! Honestly the people here are fun and are always talking about smoking the “tooka” pack (not really sure what a tooka is) and I think I’ll try it out! There are some downsides though, like one time I brought down my Lamborghini and got shot at 23 times the moment I stepped out and died on the scene. And they seem to not like a street or road called “63rd” not really sure what that’s about though. 10/10 highly recommended!!

My family’s been living here for over 3hunna years we have never once encountered any dangerous scenarios. The housing is cheap and the inside is exquisite anyone looking for a nice house to raise a family in this is a great option. The amenities provided are a 11/10 nightly firework show and many many undercover security guards at all time. Simply hidden behind there street clothes they all carry handguns for the safety of residences. If you park your car anywhere near if will not be there in the morning. The valet service works extremely quick they sometimes take your car before you get the chance to park it. Many citizens of the neighborhood are very friendly. Such as Lil Durk Chief Keef and Lil Reese. All young fellows who work to develop and serve their community never once gotten into trouble. Definitely recommend if you’re new to the area.

Man I highly recommend you stay in Parkway Gardens from moving from Baltimore to this highly secured gated community I had to say a password to the guard to get in I said "ON BD" then a crowd greeted me and asked was I 7-4 I said no silly I'm 24 then the crowd cheered with so much excitement showed me a secret hand shake and gave me a nick name of "Lil Folks" later on one of the fellas took me to a young lady house and sat me down by her computer and asked me if I have a job and I said nope she said give her my social security number and in a couple of weeks I will be receiving Unemployment checks then she did another application called a PPP and told me I own a business now I got approved that day for 20k and she only asked for 6k man the people are so nice here and I noticed they are real religious here to they talk about a King David and a King Von a big time Police Chief Keefe and they have celebrities that pop up in early morning hours one name Takeshie 6x9 and my next door neighbor showed me pictures of Nick Cannon at her door I was like wow I moved in the right spot I highly recommend people to stay here .

Wow what a amazing place this is I’ve never been anywhere more beautiful some guy walked up to me and said what time is it but I couldn’t see the time so he took my phone to read the time then he ran away with my phone what a fine gentleman. Also someone else took my car and said they were gonna park it for me haven’t seen it in a couple days though but he was very nice for doing that.

Great place! Apartment comes with a bunch of pets for FREE! I got a bunch of cool pet mice and roaches! People are so energetic and happy here they tend not to sleep anytime of the day and enjoy playing music and shooting off guns! Only downside is my wheels were stolen off my truck and I was shot in the stomach by a misunderstood fella yelling "300 OBLOCK NEVA LACKING". I brushed it off and went on with my day. Wish I could move back!

Im Brazilian and i been in Chicago for the 1st time 5 months ago and i decided to stay in this lovely neighborhood with nice young mans and nice young womans, they even teached me how to shoot fireworks at night when the opps (this is how they call it) are ''lurking'' through the neighborhood to amaze them from there, i made some good friends over there, i got plans to move there again soon, and don't forget to not claim 063rd in there, or they won't invite you to drink coffee, it's disrespectful for those ladys and gentlemans, we gotta have a good behavior among those people with high levels of acknowledge.

I would have to say this neighborhood shook me I thought that when I moved here I wouldn’t be able to have a good school for my kids but turns out the schools here are safe and the students are amazing and not only that in my neighborhood they fire ,fireworks daily it’s so beautiful I love hearing them every time I pick my kids up and before I go to sleep I would recommend moving you won’t regret it.

Extremely lovely neighborhood. The local BD's make me feel so welcome, I am literally blessed to be in an environment of this caliber. Beverly Hills, Hidden Hills - Whatever!! Everybody's trying to get into Parkway Gardens now, from the elite athletes that run the big leagues to the A-List actors and musicians, O'Block is the way to go. If i could, I'd rate 6/5 stars.
