Zach installed a whole-house water filter for me in one visit, and a bypass of same for our outdoor irrigation system in another visit. Both times he was punctual, polite, engaging, explained what he was doing and our options, and did a remarkable job of system layout so the plumbing between all the components was clean and very compact. There was virtually no residual cleanup as well, he left it in a very tidy state. Very happy customer.

The 30 year old gas furnace at my elderly mom’s house finally stopped working after having problems for the past month. After hearing she went the night with no heat, a technician arrived within 15 minutes of my call. Several options were given with estimates, and replacing the entire unit made the most sense. A supervisor arrived within an hour to assess the needs of the home and was able to book the install for the next morning. They even left us two electric heaters for the night, so mom would be more comfortable. As promised, Ed met us early the next morning before the install crew arrived. Steve, Mike, Doug (and some others) were knowledgeable, professional, communicative, and respectful of my moms needs and home. This was a wonderful team effort and my family is very appreciative to everyone, from the call center, the service techs, the supervisors, and of course the install team. We felt like we were in good hands from start to finish. I’d be happy to recommend this business to anyone who is in need of their services. Great job everyone! Thanks again!

I signed up for NH Ross' monthly service plan. So far I've only used their evaluation services for electrical work and I am very happy with my initial experience. Paul P. was my technician and he was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and answered any questions we had. He provided a detailed write up of services needed with estimates. I appreciate that all of the information is laid out so clearly and how thorough Paul was. While I can't technically speak to the quality of the work just yet (I will leave another review once I have that done), I can say that Paul definitely left a great impression and I can already tell that I'll be in good hands.

Bill was super nice, friendly and very knowledgeable. I really like the responsive communication of NH Ross. Another excellent attention to details is that when they send you a text update and let you know that the tech is on the way, they include a photo and the name of that person arriving to your home. This is a real great feature that I happen to like. I've used NH Ross just recently for the first time and was so pleased that I am going to have them as my "go to" guys! Try them, you'll love them!

I used NH Ross for a replacement boiler. We selected a high efficiency gas model, and the entire experience has been great, from Bill (sales), Lisa (office), Joe (dispatch), Christian/Jorge (install), to Henry (service). Everyone has been clean, professional, on-time...they take the time to explain what's going on. The installation is a piece of art! They helped me with National Grid to get a gas line to the house (oil prices this year pushed me over the edge), get a rebate from them. The installation went just like they said it would (two days, in and out). They have been an absolute pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend them. It's hard finding contractors you can trust and who keep their promised...NH Ross knocked it out of the park. I am a very satisfied customer.

There were a few appointment reschedules. They did let me know that Zach would not be coming that day. And I know that sometimes other emergency situations might cause a reschedule. Took about two hours to install a toilet and unclog a shower drain. This may lack context but I almost passed out on the price and had to cut a third element of the job out. Overall, my experience has been excellent with this company. From the time Ed came to give me a quote on a new oil to gas conversion to changing out the electric panel to 200amp. Everyone is very responsive. Phone calls and emails are returned timely. I never used them before. National Grid recommended them to do the oil to gas conversion. So, I went with them. Glad I did. A bit higher in price, but you get what you pay for. Ed, Joe, Gale (?), Mike, and Paul are the main people that I spoke and dealt with. All very nice and professional.

We needed a plumber to help us with an outdated kitchen water filter system. We decided to use Ross because it is right down the block. Although we didn’t get a new system (because of the high price) we found service specialist, Zachery Bishop, to be very knowledgeable and helpful with possible solutions. When I called them, we decided that they would come around 10am on Monday. At 10:30, when no one came, I called them, and they said that there was an emergency job they had to do and they would come over after it. At 12pm I called them again to say that I didn't have any more time that day to wait for them - they told me they don't schedule for a specific time but only for 2 hour time windows. That's fine, but no one told me that before, and they didn't show up within 2 hours either. We rescheduled for next day and they did show up promptly the next day. The guy, Nick, was very nice. I needed a shower faucet installed, and when I spoke to them on the phone I asked about the price. They said they couldn't give me an exact price until they do an estimate, but that it would be about a couple of hundred dollars. But Nick said that they charge $700 an hour, and this job would cost between $750 and $1500. I agreed, because I needed the job done quickly and didn't have time to look for someone else (they also charge $75 for the estimate if you don't agree to the job). The job ended up costing $818, which included installing the faucet handle and the bottom spout, and did not include installing the shower head/spout and the price of the faucet (I bought it myself). Nick did the job quickly and I'm happy with his work. But they don't communicate well about scheduling and pricing, and they charge an arm and a leg. They also said that they would email me the receipt after I paid, but then it took multiple days and calls to actually get them to send the receipt.

NH Ross installed our mini splits. They did a great job on most of it. A few things of note, they clogged our toilet when they used it. I had to remove the toilet and clear the blockage from underneath. The drainage they setup isn’t great. They drain right onto our wood siding. Other work we had quoted was over quoted and the wrong solution was presented. It was very clear they were just trying to maximize profits. Would I use them again? Yea, but sparingly. If I need something done right with a new hvac system, I wouldn’t hesitate to call them again: otherwise, I’d look elsewhere.

I was pleased with the quote provided and Chris was very good at following up with me, Once National Grid installed the gas line, NH Ross scheduled Mike K. and Jorge F. to install my new heating system. They were on time everyday, worked all day in a professional manner and got the heating system up and running with no problem. They were polite and answered any questions I had. Technician diagnosed two gas leaks from my gas burner and immediately repaired the first leak. I was told they would return the next day with a new valve that needed to be replaced. I received a phone call early the next morning telling me what time they were showing up and it was accurate. They promptly replaced the part, tested for leaks again and got my system back up and running right away. The company was very friendly and professional-a little pricey but I am satisfied with the work and service I received. I would definitely use them again

James did a great job in every way. The only issue was the price. I estimate that you provided no more then $75.00 of material and James worked on his own for three hours. The price you charged came to $1,671 plus tax. That means over $500.00 per hour in labor which is crazy.

He repaired our unit so that my 9 month old son’s room would get heat and ac which was a huge relief. I called six other companies over the span of 2 weeks and I couldn’t even get one of them to return my phone call. NH was the only company that actually answered my call. I am very satisfied with Ross Plumbing and their service technician Zach. Zach was very professional & courteous & patiently answered all questions. He explained what needed to be done and how much it would cost before doing the work. We initially called about a gas leak, which Zach repaired. However, Zach also ended up helping us with an unexpected clog in our sewer line. The clog was time consuming & complex but Zach got it done & took great care to be neat. I called at 7:30 AM because my water heater was leaking from the bottom; it was very old and obviously needed replacement. NH Ross had a technician over to the house within 40 minutes. They presented me with a couple of options, I chose one, and they were able to start the work that morning. The technician (I think his name was Neal) was very professional and kept his workspace very clean as he removed my old water heater and installed the new one. I thought the price was pretty reasonable considering the magnitude of the job and the amount of work that had to be done. He was done by about 12:20. Great experience from start to finish, starting with my first call to the office to make an appointment for an estimate. Neal showed up and was very informative about my problem. We agreed on a fair contract and I got a call from the office within the hour to make an appointment. Jimmy and Charles showed up bright and early after a call from the office. I had multiple slab leaks in my foyer and patched them up over the years, it was time to fix it for good. Jimmy and Charles spent the whole day on a difficult job, making difficult decisions on the fly after numerous problems surfaced. They put up plastic to stop any dust getting into other rooms, as the whole foyer needed to be excavated with a jackhammer. After replacing the heat and water piping, Jimmy filled the trench with cement. Clean up was great. The "guys" were courteous, informative and fun to talk to. I want to commend Mr. Shawn Elliot for the exemplary plumbing/repair job he did at my home on October 13, 2016. He was called to my house because both my heating system or thermostat was not working. As he solved my heating problem he said he would check to make sure there were no other issues particularly since I was leaving my house for a seasonal change. He found my hot water tank was not in good shape. This. Hot water tank was 16 years old. One of my neighbor's came back from FL last January to a house that was completely ruined by a hot water tank that broke down during her seasonal stay in Fl. These neighbor's are still not back in their home due to the extensive damage to their home.. Mr. Elliott and I discussed my options and the dire consequences if this problem were not attended to. I am so relieved that I had installed a new 75 gallon gas hot water heater with a ten year manufacturers warranty . Installing the new water heater was tricky because some lines were buried under the street. Mr. Elliott stayed with the problem and made many phone calls until someone from the Water Authority came to help solve the installation problem. The job turned out to be a big one. Mr. Elliott maintained a pleasant and reassuring manner at all times

In late 2018 we decided to convert to Natural gas, National Grid referred NH Ross as one of their recommended installers. We met with Ed who walked us through the whole process, explained all of the options and different equipment available. We went with a combination hot water/ furnace option. We had to put the process on hold when a family member became ill and then National Grid stopped taking new customers. We didn't get back in touch with Ed for about 6 months but he came right over when we called and honored the original estimate. We still had to wait for National Grid but as soon as they installed the gas line, NH Ross called to set a install date up. We had just filled our oil tank a few weeks previous and Ed said No worries when you are ready let us know. We called and they were at the house within days. The installation was perfect only 2 days. The technician and his crew were awesome. I can not praise them enough. The office staff took care of all permit and paper work and even set up the gas meter install with NatGrid. The only thing I had to do was call NatGrid for an account number. They are even putting in for our rebate. Even though it was over a year from start to finish it was of not fault of theirs, they were great and stood by the original estimate. Can I say WOW! what a great company. I highly recommend them.

I called this past Sunday, had no air in my home. The dispatcher called me back within 30 minute time frame, and stated a tech would call before coming, but he didn't know how long it would take, as there so many emergencies calls ahead of me. I received a call within an hr. from Rich, stating he would be arriving in 20 minutes. Wow I was shocked, as I wasn't excepting a call so soon. Rich was out standing in explaining what was wrong, showed me how the unit was non repairable, and needed to be replaced. Rich stated , he would put me in as emergency call as I had no working air condition in the heat wave that we had. As he stated, it took 2 days for the parts to come in, and by the 3rd day he was back at my home ready to do the disconnect & new install. I had quite an issue for years and had a hard time finding someone who would address it. I live on a slab and had drainage issues in my kitchen very soon after moving in 12 years ago. I tried all the typical homeowner remedies and even had one of those recognizable plumbing companies come in. By that time I had already realized there wasn't a drainage issue but a leak under my slab. I stated that I wanted it fixed and was told all slabs leak, just snake it. Even after that I would call plumbers and they either wouldn't show or didn't seem to want to tackle the job. My brother used NH Ross for a burner and gas conversion and highly recommended them. That is something for him because he can be tough. From the first call NH Ross was professional and accommodating. They state they will call before the appointment and they do. My Service Specialist was Jimmy. I ran down the 12 year issue and where others ran for the door he stayed. He explained the possible scenarios, answered all my questions and we got to work. I state we because it became a partnership. At first we were on a research mission, being under cement we had to find the problem, had to evaluate on the fly and come up with a game plan on how to fix it. He was very patient and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately mine was the worst case, the pipes under the slab were unsalvageable. Jimmy was awesome, because he was so professional and calming, we had already built a partnership, my stress level was manageable. The women at the office and Mr. Ross were the best. They eased me, assisted me through each step of the process in planning and scheduling the huge job of running and entirely new drainage system. They genuinely care. I was happy to see Jimmy return to do the work. I am one of those people that likes to watch, ask questions and he didn't mind at all. He did what it took to get the job done and I could see his attention to detail. He was working with a younger serviceman, Tommy, training him and having been in management previously it was my opinion that Jimmy did an excellent job. Tommy is a young man who made a great impression on me. He had a good work ethic, was anxious to jump in, took initiative but he listened to direction and he asked questions. It was Presidents Day weekend, Sunday night 9:00pm. We heard water running and we discovered a leak in the main line coming into the house and we called Ross immediately. They could not send someone right away, as they were booked due to other pending emergencies. But because we were a prior customer on a big repair they had done, they agreed to send someone just to turn off the water at the main out in the front yard, until the technician could come the next day. The technician came in 30 minutes after we called, he turned off the water at the main, bled the line, then to our surprise started the repair immediately. I was floored. We were so thrilled we were back to normal so quickly after finding a leak that was so serious. They saved us damage to our home as the water was spraying and soaking the Sheetrock in the boiler room, and the concrete floor was soaked, and we were scared that the pipe was going to burst. we had no key to turn off the water at the main. They saved us worry too. Imagine how worried we were that we had a spraying leak in our boiler room where the main water line entered the house and we had no way to shut it off. We had no way of getting a water turn off key as all the stores were closed as it was 9pm on a Sunday night. We are going to get one tomorrow, and there is no way am I going to be without one now. This tool is of those things you wish you had known that you needed, and cursed when it’s such a simple but important tool. I always assumed the main shutoff inside the boiler room was enough, until you realize that a leak before the shutoff requires the line to be shut off at the street. And they had us back up and running by 10:30pm, with water and all. Thank you Ross!

Nick gave me three options but because I want my Nest I went with that one and the labor will cost a little more but I have 2 systems. I would need the common wire and it would take a little longer to complete the job, but because I work nights I am having the work completed in a couple of days so I will be first call. Michael diagnosed the failure of our Noritz on demand water heater very quickly. He found that the original company which installed it used some steel pipe which had rusted and caused the filter to clog. He was able to immediately flush the system to get the heater working. He ordered the parts which should have originally been installed and did an excellent job of retrofitting the valves. He also found that a safety relief valve had been omitted from the original installation and included one in the new work. His knowledge, communication and actual work were truly excellent. Update May 15, 2019 - My new boiler is working beautifully. It passed inspection by the Brookhaven Building Dept. Today, one of NH Ross's technicians came to swap out thermostats - at no cost to me. He was professional, properly masked (pandemic times) and observant of distance guidelines. He worked quickly, left no mess, and explained the new thermostats to me. So A plus plus to NH Ross. I could not recommend the company more strongly! Original Post When I decided to replace my 40 year old boiler with a modern more efficient model, I identified four businesses fairly close to me on Long Island. NH Ross responded quickly both by email and text - which I appreciated. I like businesses that are on the ball in communication technology, so to speak. Also, the company is a National Grid "value plus installer." We scheduled an appointment with heat specialist Ed Kudder. He came this morning, spent at least two hours checking out the current system and reviewing the additions I wanted. One change I had not considered was installing a combi unit - one that produces both heat and hot water. This is because I have a five-year-old hot water heater that works perfectly. Since I want to use basement space more efficiently and the combi unit is the size of a suitcase, eliminating the hot water heater is a big plus. Thank you, Ed. He also came up with a creative way to add more heat to an addition upstairs: by raising a cabinet, five more feet of baseboard heat can be installed along one wall I had dismissed as "unavailable." Next week I will have a Bosch Combi 151 boiler equipped for two-zone heating and a manifold for installation of a third zone. It is >94% efficient. The old boiler, the hot water heater, a mess of extra pipes, and a huge expansion tank will be carted away. Plus I'm getting two programmable digital thermostats with WiFi - another improvement I hadn't considered. By the way, before I began the online search for heating companies, I had consulted a company recommended by a friend of the architect. Ed and the NH Ross company are definitely selling me a much better product and - in comparison to that first company - I believe I'm dealing with professionals who have my interests at heart. Today is Friday. They'll do the work next week Wednesday and Thursday. Update - New boiler was installed well. All workers skilled, competent, and polite. No mess left. Everything explained. And it works! I had some trouble with thermostats which they swapped out at no cost to me.

I have been a customer of N H ROSS for since 1997 and have had good and bad experiences with some of the tech who came to service my home. Most of the time the servicemen were good and took care of the problem. I had one who told my wife that in order to fix our glass top stove he would have to crack the glass, this we did not believe, and had him leave, the only thing that I did wrong that day was to not file a complaint. Today September 27th, 2013 I had a service man come to work on our wall oven. It was the most PLEASANT EXPERIENCE that we have had in the 16 years of dealing with N H Ross servicemen. I recently had oil to gas conversion. I had NH Ross install Burnham ESC 6CN boiler and TI 55 indirect water heater. We have 5 zones. I did a lot of research before deciding to go with NH Ross. I have to say, I am pretty impressed with the entire experience starting from the initial visit by Service specialist Thomas, who got the ball rolling because I was getting an extension pipe for gas being installed for fireplace insert. Thomas called Neil, the owner of NH Ross, who arrived within 24 hours to discuss updating and install of new boiler and water heater, because the one we had were over 20 yrs old. Neil and Thomas were both excellent. Neil did a thorough analysis of our needs and gave a us a very competitive estimate for the entire job. We had received estimates from two other companies (which I didn't share with either of the companies because I was not looking to go with the lowest price for the system, rather was looking for a system that would be best for my family and my house). The sales people from the other companies were providing us with estimates that were greatly overpriced and giving us equipment that we didn't need. Everything from start to finish went very smoothly with these guys. They were true to their words and were very professional throughout the entire process, even when hurricane Sandy threw a wrench in acquiring the boiler and the subsequent install. Jimmy started the process on a Wednesday and Thomas, Shawn and Roy finished it the very next day. The install looks really good, clean and professionally done. One of my friend brought his friend, who is a professional plumber, over to our place and when he looked at the install and the equipment, even though NH Ross is his competition, he was very impressed with the equipment and the clean install. His actual words were, "This is done really well and the equipment is excellent. You got yourself a Cadillac system at a very competitive price" I would recommend to anyone considering a conversion or install of a new heating system. Definitely give them a call before you buy a system from anyone else. You will not be sorry and will be thankful that you got a second opinion from them. If you decided to go with these guys you might end up saving money and getting great service to boot. Keep up the good work, Neil, Thomas, Jimmy, Shawn and Roy. We will be calling you guys in the future for other needs around our house.

I was in the awkward position of staying at my sister's home in Melville while she was in a Rehab Center when her heating system had a major problem - one that was solved respectfully, efficiently, and capably by Richard Soler at NH Ross. The heat was blasting at 84 degrees though the thermostat was set at 68, and even though I turned off the heat through the thermostat, it kept heating the baseboards. I called Ross and spoke to Richard who walked me through possible solutions. I was really nervous because I couldn't find switches and didn't know about the system. He never sounded impatient on the phone and even called back to see whether the heat had subsided. He set up an appointment for the next day and Richard was the service rep In person he was every bit as respectful and helpful as during the phone conversation - and he found and solved the problem. My sister gets to return from Rehab to a comfortable home. Richard explained options to me and then spoke to my sister, the homeowner, to discuss them with her so she could make the decision. They Assume that customer knows everything, even the customer is new and first time doing oil to gas conversion. They Do not educate a new customer about what is best for them. They will connect pipes in way what is easy and convenient for them it doesn't matter if the pipe comes in a way and all exposed below the ceiling. If they find a pipe that was not done correctly by previous company they will just continue with the same pipe connecting their pipe all exposed. I call it laziness. I am sure they wont do such piping connections in their own house. When i saw the piping they did, i showed them that instead of this way , you could have gone that way with just a little effort. My pipes could have been hidden close to the ceiling hidden under the ceiling sheet rock but it was all done now and too late unless i pay someone else to hide all these pipes. They didn't educate me and with their consent and advise , i picked up a wrong place for my gas meter and now that gas meter in in the middle of my walk way to backyard and kitchen sticking out from the ground.

Thomas was great. He did a thorough check on the heating system but could not find the vibration. He waited for atleast a 1/2 hour with us to see if the problem would appear. Low and behold the vibration started. He identified it as a lose filter housing. He rapried it and everything is running fine. Thanks Thomas.

I am a homeowner and have had plumbing issues since we bought the home 5 years ago. Water leaking into my basement from the upstairs bathroom. I have had several different plumbers here, all trying to band aid the problem, and some succeeded for a time. But inevitably, it would leak again. Lenny took the needed time to determine the root of the problem and got to work repairing it. I really appreciate the fact that he didn't just patch it up, he truly fixed the problem so it will not happen again. He arrived on time and worked hard. Anyone who owns a home knows that these qualities are a rare find!
