Just want to give a huge shout out to Kole, Arian, Nathan, Jeff, Valery, and Lexi. All employees of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Wichita. 2 months after moving to Wichita on Military orders and purchasing our first home, we experienced a homeowners nightmare. Our sewage began backing up in our bathtubs, toilets, and sinks. As soon as we called Ben Franklin Plumbing they had an extremely professional expert to our home within a couple hours to diagnose the issue and begin looking into our options to complete a total sewer replacement/clean out due to 70 years of aging and broken clay pipes due to roots growing into our lines. Unfortunately, our Home warranty company with Cinch Home Services found a loophole in our policy where they were not willing to cover any repairs outside of our foundation and left us with a bill that would cost thousands just before the Holidays. Thousands we didn’t have and we’re forced to take out a loan. Luckily, the above listed employees with Ben Franklin coordinated with their boss to complete these repairs as budget friendly as possible, and still completed the job quickly with an entire new sewer line. I can’t say enough good about the quick response and willingness to help from each and every one of their team that assisted us in completing the repairs, fighting our completely worthless home warranty company, and giving us an amazing discount that will allow my 3 kiddos to still have gifts under the tree next month. Tim was just about the best we could have hoped for considering the circumstances. He came out late at night, diagnosed the problem, and was very informative as he performed his work. The drain which had been backing up in our shower had the pressure released and then he used a different machine to punch through the item that caused the clog. He gave us a few quotes to fix the problem on a long term basis, but until then we are more aware of things to do to keep this from happening again. Would highly recommend Tim!

Thanksgiving day we developed a leak in the water supply line on the outside of the house. Bad enough that we had to shut the water off to the house…on Thanksgiving. Called Benjamin Franklin and they were courteous but couldn’t guarantee if they could get to us on the same day. Brandon arrived around 5:45, went right to work and saved the day. After running calls since 8:00 am on a holiday, Brandon was courteous, professional, and thorough. GREAT service.

We called Benjamin Franklin and made a last ditch effort to see if they could send someone out today to help. They were able to get a technician out same day and only in about 2 hours after the initial call. Tim came out and he was absolutely amazing! The technicians were great and I'm giving this a 5 star as I'm sure this survey reflects on them. They did a great job. It was an easy job. Run a snake out 30feet to clear a drain. In and out in 30 minutes. The $346 it cost to do that was way over priced. That is the only reason I will not recommend any family or friends to call and I will not call you again in the future.

I would use Benjamin Franklin Pumbing again. The pipe from my propane tank to the regulator broke. With temperature around freezing I needed heat and hot water working. The gas company said it would be 2 weeks before they could fix it. So, I went searching for a plumber. Most plumber response was call the gas company. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was busy; but, the were able to send a plumber the same day. The problem was quickly resolved. The technician was clean, friendly, and professional. The fee was reasonable and less than I expected.

He also took the time (which proved to be difficult) to contact a different company who had previously done work at our house and had caused even more of an issue than we started with. Gus from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing came out today to repair the valve connector for my washing machine that was leaking. He removed the damaged part, replaced the entire mechanism, attached hoses in one hour, working in cramped quarters. I didn't even know Benjamin Plumbing would service bathtub faucets. But they do! I called them simply because they have always taken such good care of us. I was excited to find out they could help! Our house was built in 1973 and the tub is original! We have never used it in the last 6 years we've lived here. But needs have changed and when we went to use it....well ....we couldn't. Even though the tub had mechanics Tyler had never seen before (ha), he was able to repair it and get it in perfect working order!! I'm so so so grateful!! Tim was the technician who came out on a Sunday to repair a pipe that had burst in my basement ceiling. Tim was very professional and did a great job to repair my leak. Josh came over at the specified time got to work right away and was pleasant the entire time. I was doing work around the house while he was inspecting and seeing what all needed to be done and he made sure to keep me informed of what was going on and even asked if I wanted to see the inspection items he was looking for. This made me feel comfortable that he was not trying to sell me something I didn't need (lets face it we have all heard/had those horror stories happen to us). He did have to leave to get a piece of equipment but before he left to grab it went through what charges were going to be and explained them thoroughly. When he got back he went right back to work and was done pretty quickly. towards the end he even allowed me to view the drain on the camera he was using and showed me how long my sewer was and what areas he had to clean as well as areas that may become problems in the future but told me they were fine now. My access point in the house is behind my water heater (horrible placement) and the gas line was in the way. He told me he was going to remove the line and replace it and the replacement made it a whole ton easier to get in there next time if this happens again and he did not charge me for the new piping or extra shut off he installed. Overall Josh was very professional, through and made the experience of something that pulls your house to a stop much more pleasant than I thought it ever could be. Would recommend him again in a heartbeat!

I found that my sump pump was malfunctioning after a good 3-4” rain. The basement was just beginning to become wet. I spoke to Benjamin Franklin and they said they would contact me when they had an available technician. In a little over an hour’s time I heard from Benjamin Franklin. The technician, Jason, was there in no time. He went down the basement, taking care to not dirty the carpet on the way. He immediately sized up the problem and began the repair which required a new pump. In about an hour’s time the pump was installed and operational. Jason was very cordial discussing the pros and cons involved with sump pumps but getting the job done at the same time. His quick and efficient work saved me a big headache. Thanks!

I was pleased with Gus's professionalim, timeliness, and overall work. I wasn't pleased with Benjamin Franklin not taking responsibility for the faulty part on my water heater that Gus told me they were aware of. Why do I have to pay $474.00 for a part that BF knew was faulty? They had replaced the same part in 2021. I'm also not sure how a warranty is non-transferable when a home is sold. What is the original owner supposed to do when he or she moves - unhook the water heater and take it with him to keep the warranty in effect? The new owner then must buy his or her own water heater to receive a warranty on it? That makes no sense...

The Benjamin Franklin team gave us an excellent experience during a not so excellent situation. We had an underground pipe leaking into the basement. We did have to wait over the weekend for a technician to come out. Friday they were all booked and we chose not to pay the emergency service fee for them to come out over the weekend. ON Monday, John told us what was going on and was able to go over all our options. He was clear and took the time to answer any questions I had. Very knowledgeable. Prices were reasonable for the situation, but no matter what, when a leak happens you’re bound to pay a pretty penny. We had to wait 3 days for them to come out and dig. Seems like all plumbing companies are backed up so we weren’t surprised. I can’t remember the gentleman who dug the trench, maybe Ari? (sp?), and another gentleman came out and they explained the trench digging process. They did a wonderful job only moving dirt and pavers that needed to be moved. They were able to replace the pipe at the wall of our house quickly and efficiently. They then were able to put everything back where it was. It didn’t even look like things had been moved in our landscaping except there were obvious tractor marks on the lawn from the digger, which is inevitable. We’ll done, and thank you for your professionalism! I would highly recommend.

I asked him to check out a separate, unrelated area not part of the initial call out, a leaking connection in my basement. He took the time to take a quick look at all the connections in the area to point out any potential issues due to previous work and why they could pose problems but also the things that previous plumbers did right. He wasn't trying to sell me on their services, but took the time to help me understand the plumbing. They may be a little more expensive than others in the area, but after today's experience, I would feel confident that they would do a high quality job.

She said she’d send someone immediately if I was available. Yes!! Please send someone! I’m not sure why the other companies thought our family could just go for a day or two without using water. I guess my point is, don’t advertise that your company does 24 hour emergency calls if you actually don’t. The serviceman from Benjamin Franklin was awesome and honest and walked us through every step of the process as he was going. He was here for a few hours and I know our problem is actually fixed. I found our showers and toilets backing up @ 1030 at night. Garrett Davis showed up promptly and was clean, professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. Garrett examined the premises, quickly made a suggestion as to the likely issue being a main sewer line clog and went to work. He was upfront with pricing and explained what he would be doing exactly before starting anything. Garrett had every running smoothly within an hour or so. I had a main line sewer clog that emerged at 10pm on a Saturday. They had Josh out to my house within 20 minutes of the call. He was very professional and knowledgeable and walked me through the anticipated costs and the problem before hand. Once he cleared the clog (tree roots), he also had me watch the camera go through the main line so I could be assured that the problem was taken care of. I also found out that previous plumbers had charged me for more line than was actually necessary! He talked about the option of replacing the line that has some cracks in it but was also clear that he didn’t think it was necessary at this time. Garrett and Nathan did a fantastic job. I had a whole house repipe and I found it difficult to find one complaint; they may have been too courteous. They kept walking in with booties on after I told them not to. They were absolutely great. It was a major job redoing the entire piping throughout the house in an uncomfortable crawlspace but they did it in 4 days without complaint. We ran into problems such as vent pipes not connected and other issues bringing the house up to code. They asked me for my preference on how to proceed if they could do so while still doing the job correctly. They were able to accommodate every one of my concerns and surpass my expectation with minimal inconvenience. I was very hesitant with the up front pricing thinking it was priced high to cover the "that will never happen" contingencies. Thank God I did go with them. I had another quote that was cheaper by a considerable amount but was told that " until we get into it we won't exactly know". Again we ran across things what would have been #1, running the cost up, #2 me worrying about how much is this going to cost me now, and #3 can we rig something to bring the cost back down even if it compromises the integrity of the job. I did not have to worry about any of that. The price was to the penny what they said it would be and given their generous warranty, I will not have to worry about it at all until well after my kindergartner graduates high school. I will not call another plumber. Benjamin Franklin is who I will call every time.

They came out and unclogged a toilet for us and fixed a leak in the shower. The service was good and fast. The problem was with the billing. They ended up charging us over $400 for about 30 minutes of work, running the auger down the toilet and fixing the leak in shower. My wife agreed to this price because she didn't get the quote until they were out there and she thought having toilet working was urgent. Which is actually kind of a common sentiment it seems. She also didn't really have a sense of how outrageous these prices were as she has never had to hire a plumber or do these things herself. When I found out I went slightly ballistic. When I called them it took a little back and forth but they did agree to a price that I thought was more reasonable. Hence three stars instead of one. I get it: Plumbing is a skilled trade, and it's going to cost significantly more than general labor, but it seems either the plumber who came out was trying to screw us or the company has billing policies to wrench every last cent out of you. I'm not saying I wouldn't use them again, but I would definitely shop around and make sure the billing is right and fair before using them, or any service for that matter.

We had a plumbing issue at our home - septic backing up into a bathroom. I called Benjamin Franklin and they had a technician here within a few hours. Garrett D showed up as scheduled did a fantastic job explaining everything to me, being respectful of my home, and most importantly diagnosing the problem. He also carefully explained all the pricing and made sure all my questions were answered. At this point the problem has been diagnosed and the services needed to fix the issue are scheduled. Josh did an amazing job and I couldn’t be happier with the result. I now have a better tank than before that will be covered fully for parts and labor with a warranty for the next decade and an annual service agreement that was all built into a very competitive price. Did I mention that the price they quoted prior to doing the work is exactly what you will pay!! Where else are the guessing games cut out when it comes to in-home repairs these days?

My hot water heater went out on Saturday, and I figured it would probably be Tuesday or Wednesday to get it replaced. (I wasn't going to call on Sunday because it was not that much of an emergency.) I called them Monday morning, and by 2 o'clock that afternoon my new water heater was installed! Tim, the technician, was very professional and explained everything to me in detail. (He even did some repair work on a connection from my furnace/air conditioning unit to the chimney, which was not his responsibility.) I didn't do any cost comparisons with other plumbers, so I can't relate my cost to what "others" might have charged, but I believe in paying for good service, and not having to worry about getting 2 or 3 other estimates.

Our water heater went on a Saturday morning. I looked for plumbers that could do a weekend service call and found Benjamin Franklin. I read some reviews and gave them a call. There was a $49 service call that did not apply to any work that would be required. We had a plumber (Joshua) at the house in 30 minutes. Joshua was professional and explained the repair options and warranty details. While I was waiting for the plumber to arrive I priced water heaters so I would have a good idea what to pay for a new unit. Their prices were competitive with the big box stores so when he added in labor it was about twice the cost of just the water heater. He quoted 4 hours for the work and he was right on the mark. He cleaned up and walked me through everything he did. This was not an inexpensive repair but their service made it easier to deal with.
