Mr. Harter (Cody) is an AC ENGINEERING professional that is quite familiar with the competition and market safety and performance of what he recommends. Knowledgeable and up to speed with Consumer Reports and BBB recommendations. More importantly he proved why my home needed a new unit, he talked with me about the savings in usage cost I may see and of course in addition to saving by being a Costco Executive Member. His team of Ervin and Albert got here early and are installing my new unit right now! Thanks to Mr Cody! Ah, did I mention I was not prepared with the cash and out of pocket requirements… well he also help me secure a low rate loan to install. Red Carpet is a one stop fully professional team. All my house cools evenly now, thanks to Mr Cody’s assessment of thermal-cooling requirements that he calculated. My home originally had. 2 1/2 Ton, and he recommended I get the 3 Ton. I first found out about this company when shopping at Costco. There I wanted the services with membership and they are highly recommended and I see why. These guys are great. They're always on time and when your time block starts they are in constant contact with you until they arrive at your home. Upon arrival, they even sanitize themselves before exiting their vehicles and ask of your comfort level about social distancing and coming on your property before beginning work. Even dispatch is professional and in contact to ensure everything is running smoothly, efficiently and in case any problems arrive to communicate to the technician on further instructions. I use them for many services. I recommend them and refer them many times. The prices are the same as market prices but that's corporate America. 😀

Awesome Experience!!! Our service technician William Cunningham was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Our AC went out overnight and the fast response on the next day service was greatly appreciated. Our AC is up and running again and we were so grateful for William’s help today. Mr.Robertson removed our leaky water softener and replaced it with new system. Mr Robertson was not a pressure type repairman. He laid out a few options and gave us quotes for each. After we made our decision he immediately went to work. Mr. Robertson is very professional, upbeat, honest, and very well skilled. It is a pleasure to meet and work with such a good person and the company should be proud to have him in their staff. He has a great personality, was empathetic to our situation, and accommodated our particular circumstances. His work ethic is professional but personable. Hopefully, we won’t need Austin’s services too often, but definitely would be pleased for him to return to service for any future plumbing problems. I had an interesting experience. Originally we went with red cap for our new air conditioner due to their reputation. Right after our warranty expired we had a leak right in the middle of a long stretch of very hot weather. The first technician came out and provided less than desired work and gave very poor options. We called customer service at red cap and they understood our situation and concerns. They had another technician come out and quickly resolved our situation and at a much more reasonable cost. This impressed us tremendously. It is hard for a company to be perfect all the time and red cap wasn’t the first service attempt but they listened and understood their mistake and made it better. To us that show’s character and ultimately honest in an industry that can easily take advantage of their customers

I feel the company was very professional but the personal could have been handled the issues better. Thomas who was the first repairman sent to repair the damage told me I had to get a leak detector and then when the leak was found he said the job was too big for one person and a special machine had to be brought in. This resulted in a needles delay while I continued to lose precious water. The supervisor came the following day and I feel definitely overestimated the cost of the project ; when Michael finally came , he told me none of the pavers need it to be removed and the job essentially involved some removal of some big trees roots he performed his duty really well and I heartily recommend him. Though the company was very responsive I still feel a bill for over $3000 what was steep for the work that was actually needed to be done and I sincerely feel a certain refund is due me.

William our most recent tech that came out was on time, respectful, super friendly, and took his time to explain everything to me. Also called on Red Cap to install my water heater and the tech had to move some stuff around and put everything back and cleaned up everything. Great service great people!

The work done was perfectly fine. Tree roots had grown into my pipe going to the sewer. Everyone I dealt with was courteous and professional. This repair is not a difficult repair, but is very labor intensive- having to dig up about 10 feet of pipe 2 feet underground. The gentlemen who did the work in the heat of the summer did fine work. My only negative feedback is their notification system- which told me that the technicians were on their way- at 7:20 AM. Waited 2+ hours for them to arrive. Other than that, everything else was top notch.

I've used red cap a handful of times for plumbing and a/c. Each time they were prompt, easy to schedule and professional. The last tech that came out convinced me to purchase the membership program, which includes two a/c checks per year and one plumbing check plus a percentage off each service. I schedule the a/c and plumbing visit for the same day, took the day off due to the large service window and waited for them to arrive. I did not receive a confirmation call in the morning, so I called to see when they would arrive. I was told they have a "high amount of emergency calls" and would have to reschedule the maintenance visit. I was very aggregated since I'd made the appointment weeks in advance. I rescheduled and asked for a shorter arrival window since I'd already lost money from taking the day off. He said he couldn't do it. I did reschedule and called the confirm the day prior. I was told the ac was scheduled for the next day but the plumbing on a separate day. This was not what I scheduled, as I cannot take two separate days off. So after a firm conversation with the rep, I was scheduled for both the same day. Day arrives and two hours before the arrival window, someone calls to cancel due to "high amount of emergency calls." Of course now I am very very annoyed since this is the second time this has happened. Ultimately, I cancelled the service, and the rep was very efficient in issuing the cancellation. If they don't have the staff to provide the service, they should not offer it. Also, calling to cancel twice the day of service is frustrating and costs someone money if they have to take off work. I will find another company for my ac and plumbing needs.

I hired Red Cap to re-pipe my 1940’s bungalow, there were several issues after the installation and I had a pretty poor initial experience. However all that changed when they sent Kevin Romero to my house. He was professional and went out of his way to address all the problems. I understand that in any workplace there are good competent workers and bad ones. All in all I would recommend red cap simply because of Kevin, and the fact that they did take care of the problems that came up after the job was done!

I had black water backing up into the sink. Kaelyn and Jeff are consummate professionals. Very nice men they were able to diagnose quickly. Jeff was able to assist me with finding a septic company to pump the tank. Kaelyn pumped all of the water out of sink and then the wet vac to clean up any residual. This company has very fair prices and upfront. I hope I don't have to have this experience again but if I do these are people I am calling.

I had a 3 year old HVAC AC system not working. The original company (Millian Aire) that installed them told me they needed to order some parts to repair this. I called them every 2-3 days to follow up and they would keep telling me they are waiting for the parts to come from the distribution center. They did not seem to care. After waiting for 2 weeks, I decided to try Red Cap Plumbing and Air given their positive reviews and association with Costco. They were able to fix this right away and had the parts. They performed an excellent job at a very reasonable cost. Very professional and great communicators. Highly recommend!

Great experience! Mr. Golden called 30 minutes before arrival and arrived at the beginning of the appointment time block. He asked about all the symptoms before looking at the tankless water heater. Once he diagnosed the problem, he went above and beyond to fix it that day. Which involved locating the part, and then driving from Fishhawk to Largo and back (twice across the Howard Franklin Bridge!) on a Friday afternoon. Customer service at the highest level!! Very impressed!!

I had Red Cap install a new Lenox A/C heat pump system. Everything worked wonderfully. However, I wandered when the inspection papers would come off my front window and I I occasionally got a peculiar warning about a problem with the outside theocouple. Red Cap responded to my call promptly the service technician had the thermocouple issue fixed the final inspect ordered and helped me with a login issue I was having. I've not been more pleased with a service call before. I never heard of Red Cap before purchased the Lenox unit through Costco, but I'm glad I did. I'm a retired Plant Engineer with 25 years experience and Red Cap would have been tops on my call first list.

However, we went with another company b/c they offered water heater replacement at about $500 cheaper but unfortunately that company did not see the project through completion. Zac came right away and finished project impeccably . James was very professional and friendly. He fixed our problem quickly and explained what he was doing. The problem I have with Red Cap is the service call I received in late May of this year. It was six months after initial installation (Dec. 2021) and was done at no cost. However, the serviceman who came said I should have a filter in the drain tray. The tray is about 15 to 20 inches long. He charged me $54.00 dollars for a filter that was 5 inches long. The filter kept the 5 inches clean but the remaining 10 to 15 inches became dirty, clogging the drain pipe, resulting in the unit shutting down. I had to ask for a service call last week, Aug 22, only two and a half months after the first service call in May. All this for unit that I paid $7,800+ for less than 9 months ago. Something doesn't seem right here. When I told James about the service call in May he seemed taken back. I asked if he had a filter that would fit the tray and he said he didn't have one with him. Therefore, I can see another service call in a few months to again unclog the drain pipe. Replacing Heat pump. David was friendly and professional. Product is being installed tomorrow. I expect it will be satisfactory. Purchased through Costco, so the benefits were excellent with the cash cards. David also threw in a UV light to sweeten the deal. Very pleased so far. Assume installation will go without a hitch. Installed 12/1 and 12/2. One drawback- they assist people who use TECO with the paperwork to get a rebate, but not from Duke Energy. That's the customer's responsibility. A little help would've been nice. Not sure I got the UV add-on. I saw or heard nothing about the device and why it was an upgrade. David valued it at $350.00.

04/28/2022 - Michael came out for my HVAC maintenance, and just knocked it out of the park. He ran through the whole system, he explained the details, he gave me some options to improve the safety/stability of the system; it was absolutely stellar! The guy was so on-point, I'm pretty sure he left my house then went out to solve world hunger or something. Seriously, I can't say enough about Mike - he drove up in a truck, but I gotta wonder, did he really need to drive, or could he have just changed clothes in a phone booth? When I want my HVAC worked on again, I hope Mike's the guy they send out, he's a walking, talking HVAC party of awesomeness. 05/09/2022 - Eddie came out to work on a gas line issue in my kitchen. He showed up promptly, humming merrily and got right to it. He gave me several solution options, and got it knocked out once we had decided on a plan of action. He was diligent, careful, and knew what he doing. He turned a big mess into a small deal and the cost was totally manageable. Thanks a million Eddie! 12/20/2022 - As part of an ongoing project, I had toilets in both bathrooms replaced. Red Cap sent out Nate "The Legend" and his title is well deserved. Nate was diligent, prompt, professional and courteous. He performed some after-service adjustments on my cleanout, and brought exactly the toilets I ordered with a two-day turnaround. He cleaned up after the job was done, and left the job site looking like he'd never been there; heck it looked even better than when he arrived. For plumbing jobs big and small, Nate "The Legend" can do 'em all!

Our thermostat and AC suddenly stopped working yesterday in the afternoon. We had our new system installed in March 2022 and it came with a 10 year warranty for labor and parts. Today, Sunday, in August, Florida August....our AC decided to take a break and stop working. I did some basic troubleshooting and fixes but it was not addressing the problem. We called Red Cap Plumbing, they set an appointment up for us for the same day, which we we really happy about. William arrived, asked what was happening, I told him and after a quick evaluation , William determined it was a clogged drain line. I told him I tried to vacuum it out but my puny shop vac was no match for the clog. William had the line fixed in literally a matter of minutes, giving me great tips about what to do to prevent getting a clogged drain in the future, which included me getting a new shop vac, which I was happy about. William is extremely professional, and knowledgeable, he is defiantly an asset to Red Cap, they should give him a raise, or at least a cold adult beverage of his choosing. I hired Red Cap to replace the water pipes ( old galvanized steel) inside and outside my home after discovering a leak in my attic. They came out quickly to evaluate and give an estimate, and came up with a great solution to avoid digging up my patio. Their estimate was MUCH more in line with what I was expecting to pay for this job. The first estimate from a different company was $10k higher! This local company was strongly recommended by a very reputable local company. So, we called them for an estimate on Monday morning. They had a salesman out that afternoon. He answered all of our questions, gave us three replacement options and left with a check and a contract. Around noon on the next day, the installer called to set up for the installation appointment. He offered to come as early as 7 am the next day, but would work to meet our needs. I told him that 7-7:30 would be great. Rey showed up at 7:20 with his assistant and immediately started the job. The crew were very courteous, helpful and earnestly answered our questions. They completed the job, along with thoroughly cleaning up the work areas and tutoring my wife and I on our new systems functions and scheduling the county inspector's assessment visit. Their truck was out of our drive and on the road by 12:30. My wife and I are completely satisfied with the staff at Red Cap and strongly recommend them for your HVAC & R needs. Oh yeah, we'll be using them for any plumbing issues in the future, should something need attention that I can't handle.

Red Cap Plumbing & Air I felt my home and ac unit was not cooling properly. The builders would not do anything to fix the situation so, I called Red Cap Plumbing & AC Repair. The person that came over was Don Connell. I showed him what I had, he sat down to do energy calculation on my home. It took him some time to evaluate everything. As soon as he was done he said, “ Your AC unit is undersized by 1 ton”. This is not hard to figure out when half of your home is 10 degrees hotter than the rest of your home. He also said that the unit I have now is extremely over working. So, I decided to wait until I show this to the builder to give them a chance to fix the problem. They did absolutely nothing about it and said, Red Cap was just trying to make money off of my home. Mr Connell said this unit would only last about a 1 to 2 years. 1 year and 4 months later the unit quit! I can tell you that my bills were the high $200 to just over $300 on a new home that should have been and is supposed to be energy efficient. When my unit quit I called Red Cap “ Mr Connell” and told him my AC unit don’t work he came over the next day. He did some checks and the whole system was dead. He started writing up the order for a new ac system, I asked him if he was going to put a 3 ton in and he said you would run into the same problems you had with the last unit, it was not strong enough to cool the whole home down with 2424 sq ft with 12ft ceilings in 50% of the home. We had to up size to a 4 ton unit to cool the house down. I agreed to put the 4 ton in and the very next day the work crew was here, the two guys they sent were so professional and knowledgeable about everything they did I had no concerns to what they were doing. They increased 4 ducts for better air flow throughout the house. They cleaned up every mess they made did not complain while going through some difficulties that took more time to complete. The time was estimated at about 6 hours and they were here 12 hours. Side note, I would have quit it I had to be in an attic 7 hours. Earlier I said that my bills were over $300 per month for a 1year and a 1/2, My power bill are now half that at $165 two months in a row. I give thanks to Don Connell the rep, Chris, and Yvonny the installers, and last but not least the Red Cap Plumbing & AC Repair for hiring top notch professionals that did everything to get the job done in amazing time! I will never have any one touch my AC in any home that I buy in the future.

Rarely write reviews, but super impressed with this company and the friendliness of employees. Excellent, fast service. I am on a maintenance plan and my AC unit stopped working. A technician was out to do a repair estimate within an hour. Technician was not pushy and discussed options. I made the decision to replace the unit since it was older. The next day a knowledgeable and friendly HVAC engineer came out to discuss options (earlier than scheduled) to ensure they could do same day installation. He was very thorough, including discussion about future home plans (selling, renting, etc) to ensure right investment was made. Great financing and extended parts/repair coverage options. 💯 recommend.

I discovered my hot water heater was leaking on a Saturday night. Sunday morning I contacted Red Cap and they came out the same day with most items on the truck. Eddie did have to leave to get the proper sized pan but did so quickly. I had a beautiful new hot water heater within a few hours. When he left, the entire work area was spotless. Very pleased with our experience. We had a leak in the wall that the first plumber we had out said it was a slab leak and the whole house would need repiping. Wanting a confirmation, we had Red Cap out and worked with Erick. He was very thorough and up front on the cost of work, but wanted to confirm it was a slab leak. He had someone else come to check and they found it wasn't even a slab leak, but a different pipe aroudn the same area. While a repiping may be in our future, it shouldn't be necessary now. Erick has earned himself a return customer.

Update: The AC was close to dead. Bad motor and leaky coils. Jesus came after the original installation team had a car accident so they were a bit late that they could not help. My ac stopped blowing cold air. I thought ac may have frozen so turned it off but left fan running for the day. Turned ac back on an to no avail on labor day as hot as it was outside I realized I had no choice but to call for help. Ervin the tech was very knowledgeable and found the problem immediately. It ended up being the run capacitor and jump start switch. Little did I know that the 2 year old ac would break the bank once again. $744.00 dollars later we have air again and its better than when the ac was first installed. I also started a maintenance program with them and don't know where my 15 % discount came in. I live in a 2 story townhouse and have never had the upstairs feel the same as downstairs until last night. Thank you Red Cap for having such knowledgeable techs but your pricing is a bit over the top. The reason for the 3 stars is based 100% on pricing.

He also added some extra services for us like changing out some problematic faucets and installation of our existing water softener. Usually I am very pleased with Red Cap.We have used them many times in the past. I was a little disappointed this time because my service call was scheduled between 8 and 12. My technician arrived at 2:45. There was no communication from their office. I wasted an entire day waiting around for service. Aggravating! The tech had to return the next day with a part "in the morning". Again, he came at 3:00 and I had no communication from the office. When I called to check the status, I was given the information that he was on his way, but I would have appreciated the office to notify me that the technician was going to be late. Anyhoo, the service itself was fine, warranty was honored, and the service tech, William, was very pleasant to work with.

No luck there, so Mr. Litchfield said he would come on Sunday at 8:30 AM to try and get service back. I hired redcap to do an AC tuneup. They were very polite and did the job well. They even showed me pictures of the problem parts so I wasn't just taking their word for it. My only complaint is that the technician didn't wear gloves when he came inside. Normally that wouldn't be a problem but on their site they talked about increased safety measures during COVID-19. Gloves seems to be a more obvious safety measure since the tech came into my home. Otherwise, a great experience. He asked a few questions, diagnosed the problem, gave us our options, and then recommended the cheapest option because he thought we should start there and see if the more comprehensive clean out would be necessary. He explained exactly what the problem was and what he was going to do to fix it, and he didn't try to sell me a bunch of products or services I didn't need--he's a professional plumber, not a salesman. During the early part of September 2019 I had a plumbing crisis that involved a break/leak in my main water source to the home. This was my first experience with using Red Cap Plumbing, and it was a very satisfying service experience. Both the service plumber(John H.) and the install team(Dan & Dylan) were top notch. John provided excellent customer service in assessing the problem and fully explaining my options. Answers to my questions were straightforward, and he was extremely courteous and caring. At the time that he came out I had been without water for 2 days, and it goes without saying that I was extremely stressed. John was very reassuring and understood that the top priority at that point was to restore water to the home. I was also impressed that he advocated for me as the customer to provide fair and reasonable quotes for cost of the repair. He communicated with the office staff by phone, and the decision was made not to start any work that day as the weather was threatening. Due to weather conditions and scheduling/communication issues the work was not actually initiated until 9/5, but the repair was completed and my water service was restored that day. The repair team (Dan & Dylan) not only met but far exceeded my expectations. Their teamwork was remarkable, their interaction with me was compassionate and understanding, and their workmanship was phenomenal as well as efficient. I could not have been more satisfied with their services. It was not an easy fix, as the pipe break was up under the sidewalk. They too went the extra mile to ensure that the charges were fair & reasonable for the work done. Also, they truly understood the stress factor for me, and their interactions with me were compassionate and understanding. They also provided comic relief that was most welcome under the circumstances. My last contact with Red Cap was with Daniel, the Operations Manager, and it had to do with a question I had about one of the charges on the initial invoice. He too was extremely responsive and resolved my query during that one phone call. I provided feedback to him with respect to some communication breakdowns that resulted in multiple phone contacts with multiple people. My technician, Adrian, was very professional, helpful, and quickly advised me of my options. I chose to replace two toilets and I am pleased that I did so. I work from home, so I was kind of wondering how much noise would result from removing and installing two toilets (ranch style house), yet I (literally) didn't hear a thing (and I am a living room away) other than the few times that Adrian walked in and out of the house. The manager at Red Cap Plumbing gets a Big thumbs down. If it was up to him my handler leak could have either kept running for 12 hours (all over my flooring) or I could just shut off my A/C in the heat of the summer so the leak would stop until he could send someone out to have it looked at in 12 hour because no one would be available to come out before then. Keep in mind that 1) I paid extra to become a Red Cap Member so that I wouldn't need to worry about this type thing and 2) I had this new system put in less than 6 months ago. So shame on him for unacceptable customer service!!!!!! Switching gears to the actual employees that make a difference. 5 stars to Kim and Jason for coming to my rescue!!!! Kim didn't stop at trying to find a technician to help me despite the managers in consideration of a paying customer. Kim, after hours of not giving up finally reached out to one of their technician's, Jason who was willing to come out so see what he could do to fix my problem so I could have A/C again. He fixed my problem and then came back the next day when I got off work to add a part that was not put on my handler in the initial installation. Kim and Jason were both understanding and helpful of my situation and both willing to go above and beyond to make sure I was pleased with my service. Kim even reached out to me at work the next day to see if I was taken care of the night before. I would like to thank Kim and Jason for their compassionate and unwavering service. My review is based on the service I received. I signed up for their comfort program in a new condo we purchased. The air conditioning wasn't working properly. Victoria was awesome and explained everything she also set an appointment for us the same day for someone to come out. Don C. came out diagnosed the problem and then sold us an air conditioner. Funny thing is they said they were giving us a great price but we wouldn't really know because we didn't compare prices to anyone else. We decided to go with them because they were awesome at getting back to us and was able to set an appointment to have the new unit installed the next day. UPDATE: I received a call from Red Caps Customer Service the following day. I spoke with Carolyn who quickly and professionally was able to get us back on track with them. I'm all for hitting the reset button as anyone in customer service knows there are great days and not so great days. I'm glad I did, I was able to get the required service completed quickly and professionally. The techs were knowledgeable and patient (as I had experienced in the past). Customer service is everything. It doesn't matter what the savings are if the service is terrible. Thank you Red Cap for making it better! We went through Costco for our new HVAC, who outsourced to Red Cap. We were happy with our decision especially as the rep stated as a Costco contractor they included another layer of customer service. Installation and unit no problem. Fast forward 2 yrs, booked a maintenance service advertised for $49. No problem, I adjusted my work schedule to accommodate date and time. Day of service, I called to confirm my appt. Was told they couldn't find my info. After explaining I had booked the appt about 2 weeks prior, the rep put me on hold and then came back and stated they'd be at my home between 3-5pm. I confirmed with them (again) the best number to call. No calls, no service. Call them back at 4:57 and was told dispatch tried to call to reschedule. Never received the call, asked them to confirm the number - it was the incorrect number. Why ask for updated info if no one's listening? The rep stated she has no way of looking at past notes. Really??? They offered to reschedule, but why if you can't keep the initial appt? Not to mention the hours wasted that can't be recouped. Understandably, life happens and so do delays, but the hassle is simply not worth it. What's the point of advertising a service if you can't deliver as promised?

He provided us with the information needed to replace our existing 14-year-old unit. He explained the difference in units, costs, and the end value each one brought. He was aggressive in positively obtaining our business by meeting our timeline and budget. Even though we had made our decision, he provided us with incentives for choosing Red Cap. Scheduling and paperwork were easy and quick with an appointment set for the next day. On the day of install, the positive view of Red Cap continued with their install crew. Jose and Brad arrived on time, uniformed and with booties, and installed a portable unit for my wife to use as she works from home. Once the office was set up, they went to work. Having no idea of the scope of a project like this, I was surprised to see them finishing the job as I came home in the early afternoon. The team was more than happy to explain the work they performed and answer all my questions. Jose even went as far as repairing my ladder to the attic and outside garage door. If I had to use one word to describe Red Cap, it would be professionalism! From start to finish, anyone I dealt with was a professional! Not going to lie, a new AC unit is a good chunk of money, but a needed one in the middle of a Florida heatwave! My first initial experience with the company was great. The tech that came the first was a 10. The second tech that came out to view pipes, I did not care for. His conversation was very condescending. The tech offered an expensive servicethat we could definitely use, and needed no doubt, but when we said we couldn't afford it right then he implied that we could sale the house or get an entire new restroom and septic put on an exterior wall or save up the money but something needs to be done. His job was to view my pipes, which he did, and provide information on a service that could fix the situation. Which he did do BUT You do not tell a customer to sale their home or add on to their home regardless if they can afford the suggested service or not. I initially chose this company because they had the best reviews when I was researching companies and I still like them but this last tech had me feeling so e type of way and I definitely would not want him coming back to my home.

The initial service call to diagnose my old water heater was extremely professional. My water heater is located on the 3 floor of a tri-level town home. I have wood floors and no one is allowed to wear shoes inside. As soon as Chad my tech rang the door bell and I let him in he did not even have to ask he immediately put on his shoe covers. I obtained at least 5 quotes from other companies before choosing Red Cap to install the new unit. It was a long process but he was always courteous and very easy to talk to. A couple weeks after the install I wanted the temperature adjusted and I heard a knocking sound. I called on Friday evening around 1:30 they were here by 3 fixed the knocking apparently it was a bad heating element which they replaced no charge of course. Again very professional. Red Cap and now Chad will be my go to for any plumbing services I may have in the future. Thank you Red Cap for excellent service.
