Robert was the best plumber I've ever hired! His extensive knowledge, excellent customer service, and quick diagnosis and problem solving skills are qualities that are rare to come by nowadays. This guy makes all others look like amateurs. Though the price was a bit high, I'm beyond satisfied with the quality of work and I feel he is trustworthy with his diagnosis of the plumbing issues we currently have. I most definitely will be reaching out to hire him for the repair work before calling any other company to provide estimates for the work to be done because I am convinced that we will get our money's worth by hiring Robert at Maplewood Plumbing. What a great experience! Our kitchen sink backed up on a Saturday of a long holiday weekend. Husband worked on it for three days. On a recommendation, contacted Maplewood Plumbing. Customer service beyond compare - woman I dealt with was pleasant, sympathetic, and top notch. Reggie was out to our house before 11 AM! Pleasant, hard working, and great to work with. Reggie went over and above on the repair, even going back to the shop for a bracket to fortify an area of pipe join that he “didn’t like the look of,” that could cause further issues in the future. While I hope you never need their services, life happens, and Maplewood Plumbing helped us deal with it. I would recommend their services without hesitation.

I recently became a first-time homeowner and amongst a few items that need to be addressed is the plumbing. I was going to attempt to use the little skill I've obtained from the school of YouTube but my better senses told me I would benefit best by contacting the professionals. I scheduled my first appointment with Maplewood Plumbing and my entire experience from start to finish exceeded my expectations. The office staff were everything you could ask for in customer service - they were kind, professional and made me feel like a priority. The plumbers who came out were Aaron & Trent. I called about low flow in the kitchen sink. The faucet was full of gunk, and the end with the filter in it wouldn't come off. The two guys who came fixed it in about two minutes, but on seeing the pipes feeding the faucet (with shutoff valves on icky pipes down in the basement, and only the hot-water one actually usable) they suggested that new sections of pipe with new under-sink valves should be put in. They took about two hours to do that and did a really beautiful job; it looks very nice and well finished both above and below the floor, and includes little copper side extensions that are supposed to prevent knocking. Maplewood did some other work for us a few years ago, I don't remember what now, but we were satisfied with it.

Outdoor faucet had a small leak and could not be turned off from the inside. A new levy had to be installed inside my home and new pipe had to be resoldered. Robert was knowledgeable and focused on the job. Maplewood Plumbing was recommended by a neighbor and I will recommend them to someone else.

They are very clear in their bids, and try their hardest, even calling the electrician directly when there was a snag in the hot water heater install. First, I saw their A+ rating on Better Business Bureau.. Then we used them to see if our sewer pipes under the yard and driveway were clogged or what. They photographed and we explained the gasses inside the house seemed to cause health problems. They were right the first time, the pipes had 25 feet that did not flow normally. They kept their appointments, were on time, and most importantly, their very polite telephone person made sure the Master Plumber got our information immediately this morning. I really appreciate dependability these days.

I have a 70 year old house and the pipes under 2 of my bathroom sinks, which were original, were falling apart. The plumber I had been using for years had gone out of business. I called a new plumber who said a hole needed to be cut in the walls in order to be repaired but his company did not cut into walls. My previous plumbing company had cut into walls twice to make repairs so I was surprised. This plumber said to schedule an appointment after the walls were opened up. I decided to call Maplewood Plumbing. I made sure they would cut into walls if necessary. Jerry and his apprentice Brandon arrived prompt at 8 a.m. as promised. They looked at both bathrooms and said they thought they could fix both without cutting into walls. Four hours later, I had new pipes plus new hot/cold turnoffs and no holes in my walls! Both Jerry and Brandon were very nice and professional. I am very happy with the results and am so glad I called Maplewood Plumbing. I will be using them for all my future plumbing and sewer needs.

I had a new dishwasher that needed to be installed and an old one that needed to be removed. I called four separate appliance companies to get the old dishwasher removed and none of them could figure it out, so I decided to try a plumbing service instead and found Maplewood Plumbing & Sewer. Robert came out and was not only able to uninstall the old dishwasher, he installed the new one and re-piped the sink so it doesn't smell like a sewer anymore. Inside water shut off was leaking and street shut off as t been used in decades. Despite wet and freezing conditions these guys were able to open the access which had essentially welded itself shut then they took care of the inside. For a time it looked like the outdoor would have to be dug up and replaced $$$$. But these guys got it done without that expense

The Maplewood plumber E arrived on time, went right to work, suggested a better location for the external hose bibb than the one I had chosen, and then did a remarkably clean, solid, unobtrusive installation--it is a work of art! The soldered joints are pristine, the horizontal pipe is well secured at both ends and in the middle, and the external and internal hose bibbs reflect the same clean professional skill as the copper joints. E is meticulous and detail oriented. Moving the old pipe's location left a hole where it had been secured to the foundation's stone wall, and when he repaired it with cement, he blended it into the texture of the wall. While the cement was setting, he turned to the second project; he inspected the water heater expansion tank (it was in good shape) and checked the water pressure at several points to see if it could be safely increased. It could, so he increased the pressure resulting in better cold water pressure at our kitchen and bathroom outlets. This is not the first time we've used Maplewood Plumbing and won't be the last. The service is honest, responsive, and delivered by great people. They arrive well-prepared and demonstrate pride and skill in their work. Their prices are fair. Over the 28 years we've lived in our 96-year old house, we've used a number of project and service plumbers, but only a few stand out. E--, like the other professionals Maplewood Plumbing has sent us, is one of those.

I had an issue with my Kitchen stack. I got quotes from three other places. I decided to wait on getting a quote from Maplewood Plumbing since I had heard good things about them and I am glad I did. First they would have been the lowest quote for the work as quoted by the other companies but they actually presented a different alternative that was 1/2 the cost without risk of additional expense. They person who quoted the work did a great job explaining my options compared to the others. And the person who did the work was awesome, polite and professional and I am very happy with the result. Maplewood Plumbing helped me repair a toilet having issues and their level of work is quality. They also informed me about a hose connected to my Wash Machine with a tear which I appreciated. My only complaint are their prices, I was charged $300 for one hour of labor. They offered to replace the hoses to my washer for an additional $200! I was able to buy replacement hoses for $30 at Lowe's and it took me all of 10 minutes to install them, so I'm confused why their services are so expensive.

We used Maplewood Plumbing to install a new bathtub. From getting an estimate and scheduling, to execution of the job we were beyond happy. Customer service was great and the pricing was extremely competitive - we never felt like we were being taken advantage of. When it came time for the install, the plumbers were extremely professional - they were punctual, extremely detail oriented, friendly, had respect for our home, amazing clean up, and had skilled execution for the job. With our house being old the install was much more difficult and time consuming but the plumbers still took their time and came back the next day to finish up. Highly recommend Maplewood Plumbing!

I was given an appointment time span of 3 hours of when I could expect a repair person the next day. I was also told that he would call 15 minutes before he would arrive. David arrived within the time span and called to say he would be at my place within 15 minutes. He had the equipment and knowledge necessary to show and explain the workings of my sewer system. I learned a lot. One of the problems was access to the drain that was located in the garage under my son's car that would not start. If my son can get it started and out of the garage, David will come back and complete what's necessary to unclog that line the rest of the way. He was able to get to some of it, but could not get to most of it. I really appreciate the option of a return call within 30 days at no additional charge. Maplewood Plumbing has an excellent reputation and competent personnel, and is frequently listed as a referral on Neighborhood, a popular on-line site where neighbors seek positive referrals based on their own experience.

Just like the previous person, the man who replaced my hot water pipes was prompt, pleasant and professional in explaining what he was going to do, and getting it done quietly and quickly. He worked with the quirks of an antique house, and even let me know what issues might come up in the future and the probable priority order of managing them. He left the workspace clean as he found it. The cost was very reasonable. I will be using their services again soon. Highly recommend!

We wanted to check the sewers for roots or breaks, and a family member suggested Maplewood Plumbing, as he has done business with them in the past. We've had Maplewood Plumbing fix up a couple questionable plumbing issues with our house. First, they repaired a leaky water main valve, and then fixed an incorrectly installed sewer vent and kitchen sink drain. Every person they've sent to our house has been professional and taken the time to explain the work that needed done. They're more expensive than many private plumbers, but you get what you pay for with these guys, they have delivered nothing but premium level work. Can't recommend them enough.

First, I needed to replace my old, leaky garbage disposal (which was apparently installed wrong and needed to be sawed off). I reached out to a few companies on Angie's list. The first gave me a price and date and then flaked out and I never heard from them again. The second was Maplewood Plumbing. The plumber was on time, gave a fair price and did a great job. When my kitchen sinks and dish water got backed up with water a month later, I called Maplewood Plumbing back. Again, very prompt and professional service. I knew the clog was behind the wall and the plumber gave me very detailed info and options on what needed to be done. He also gave me some tips on things I could change myself so I wouldn't have to call them back out again so soon for another issue, and tightened a few things that needed tightening at no extra charge. The service on both calls was A-1! Using a plumber is never "fun" but both of my experiences were extremely positive and professional. And both of the guys who came out seemed like genuinely cool people. I'll definitely continue to use Maplewood Plumbing whenever I have the need.

The day before my scheduled appointment, Missouri Water left a note on my door saying my water would be shut off the day of my appointment, for repairs being made on a main street near my house. When I called Maplewood to let them know, I was immediately rescheduled only 2 days later. On the actual day of repair, Erin called to let me know he was on his way, which I really appreciated. He actually showed up during the exact time frame I had been initially given. When Erin arrived, I showed him photos of the plumbing I had taken when we renovated that bathroom. He immediately figured out the problem that was causing the leak, and made the repair. It was fast and easy, the price was very reasonable, and I had a working bathroom in under an hour. The women who answer the calls are always friendly and extremely helpful - she scheduled my appointment but asked if I wanted to be placed on a waiting list in case someone canceled due to my leaking spigot. Joe the plumber came to the house and explained what he needed to do to make all the repairs. He gave me options and explained everything so I could make an informed decision. He repaired a leak from a broken outside water spigot and repaired a leak in the inside pipe adding a quarter-turn shutoff valve and replaced several feet of copper pipe. We found Maplewood Plumbing on Google reviews and called them to schedule installation of a utility sink and a toilet - both in the basement. The installation was a bit more tedious than I expected, but given the age of the house and the placement of the fixtures, that was ok with me. The quote was given to us up front and for a fixed amount, which we signed and returned. Their plumber arrived on time and walked us through everything that would have to be done to meet our expectations. The work was thorough - the piping for the utility sink - from the water source was neat and secure. It has a very pleasant look. The toilet, which required a new valve installation, was done quickly and effectively. We are very happy with this service, and will 100% call them the next time we need help. 5 out of 5 stars, baby!

Incredibly responsive after another local plumbing company came and tried to up-charge me saying they were unable to unclog the main sewer line. That company was at my place for about 90 minutes and left me with a $260 bill and a sewer line that remained clogged. Called Maplewood Plumbing on Thursday afternoon and they scheduled a visit for Friday. Courtney came out on time! He was professional and explained what he thought the issue might be. He was able to take of the issue within 45 minutes! There was no need to use a camera, as was advised by the previous plumbing company. I will be calling Maplewood Plumbing again.

I recently realized I was going to need a new water heater. I checked BBB, YELP, and another site to find the highest rated companies to talk to. From there, I received about four bids. Maplewood Plumbing had one of the best bids and were the highest rated! They also were going to install the highest rated brand of water heater. I did have to wait an extra couple of days for installation compared to the next best bid, but I thought the better rated brand and higher customer ratings would be worth it. I was right! Maplewoods team was on time for the installation and went to work immediately. I had had one of their estimators out a couple of weeks before to make sure of an accurate estimate as it would be a tight squeeze getting the new tank into the space and to install a drain pan. This information had not been relayed to the install team. And the supplier did not drop off the drain pan. But they handled it excellently. They called for another employee to assist in lifting the new tank into place! And the employee picked up a drain pan and hose from Home Depot. It took an extra 1/2 hour or so but no grumbling and they took great care to make sure there was no scratches, dents, or dings on the new tank , doorways, steps or flooring! No extra charges either!! Very Professional!! Though I won't have to for many years, I would easily hire them again for any plumbing job I needed!! They deserve the high customer satisfaction ratings!!

The only drawback was that I had to wait almost two weeks from when I called to schedule, until they could fit me in. Presumably this would be much quicker if I had an urgent or emergent issue! REVISION: Our toilets were continuously running so Maplewood Plumbing sent Jerry to repair the issue, one toilet Jerry did have to move & repair, it was leaking after they left, so he did come back to repair. I hadn’t noticed for a couple of days but thankfully Jerry came back soon. We had to order new faucets even though ours were relatively new, almost 5 yrs old those he came & installed those also I called and he came back and repaired our dryer vent. Jen is very nice & professional and I feel they try to get repairman out as soon as the6 can. I do recommend this company. Initially when I wrote a previous review I was surprised at prices but I’m feeling they are probably comparable to other companies.

I talked to a few plumbing companies about the job I needed done and maplewood plumbing was the only one who did what I wanted. They showed up early, nice and professional as can be, ran a camera in my drain right off the bat while I watched. We saw together what the issue was and they cleaned it out, problem solved. The key point was they ran the camera down there to figure out what was going on first. Everyone else just wanted to cable out the downspout without looking, charge me hundreds of dollars and I wouldn't even know if it would have fixed the issue, neither would they. Some companies would have charged me just for them getting out a camera as well, maplewood plumbing did not do so. To me it seems that is the way it should be done so they aren't blindly doing something that might not even fix the issue. I highly recommend maplewood plumbing. If I'm being honest, I thought those guys were so nice that I wanted them to be my new best friends. Unfortunately I had to get back to work so I didn't have time to bust out the whiskey. They were so professional they probably wouldn't have drank with me anyways.

They explained options, related pricing, and scheduled a service call for the next morning. The technician (Thaddeus) called before he left their office so I would know they were on the way and he arrived right on time. Thaddeus was extremely courteous and went right to work identifying the problem. He was very professional and had a lot of knowledge about how all the piping was inner connected. He took the time to explain what was going on, how to correct the problem, and placed a tarp on the floor to minimize the mess. Thaddeus cleared the appropriate piping and restored drain function. Once again, I am very pleased with the service received from Maplewood Plumbing and the high quality of their employees. I highly recommend them for any plumbing service.

Maplewood got someone out same day for my backed up floor drain in the laundry room. Thaddeus was friendly, knew what he was doing, finished promptly and left the area clean. That's twice I've been real pleased with Maplewood's service and the price has been reasonable. I plan to continue using them for any plumbing needs I have. Steve with Maplewood Plumbing just left my property, and I’m one ecstatic customer!!! He was thorough, diligent, friendly, respectful, and answered all my questions. He cabled my line several times and restored full flow. A previous company told me that the roots were so heavy they broke two drills trying to push through, that there was a crack in the line, and they couldn’t do anything else to help me except dig up and replace the line (a 5-digit dollar amount). However, Steve with Maplewood Plumbing was able to clear the line completely and saw no indication of any breaks. He showed me the entire line with his camera after he finished with his auger, and it was all clear. He walked me through the camera view of all the different parts and transitions (clay, cast iron, PVC, etc.) so I would understand how my line works. Every time during the camera view that I’d ask, “what’s that?” whether it was a joint, transition, or just a little debris, he would patiently and thoroughly explain it to me. He even took his camera out to the main line to make sure all was okay on the other side of where my clog had been. He went above and beyond. I’m so happy I found Maplewood Plumbing. We were preparing our house to put on the market to sell and the plumber (Jerry) did a good job of fixing and installing a new faucet. There was an accidental incident made by the plumber during the first attempt at fixing the problem but the company was able to fix the problem quickly and without charging any extra and they were very apologetic. The problem I had is that they charge a flat fee per service, which felt overpriced to me. I was able to find the parts they used online and was surprised to find that they cost very little so the grand total of $970.00 to install a faucet felt pretty far fetched. Since they charge a flat fee, there is no available cost breakdown of parts, service, etc. So you are unable to determine where you could have saved some money. If we hadn't been in such a time crunch, I likely would have called around and gotten more quotes as multiple people felt like this price was on the high side. That being said, staff was very nice on the phone and easy to work with. They were flexible and handled the whole process well.

I needed a plumber. Didn't have knowledge or experience to draw from, so I went with location. Called three businesses, prices were all about the same, so I went with the closest one. Well the plumber gods were looking out for me. I called Maplewood Plumbing late on a Saturday afternoon and got an apppointment for Monday morning (was not an emergency situation). David showed up at exactly the appointed time and it was obvious from the start that David knew his plumbing "stuff." Didn't waste time, showed us and told us exactly what he was seeing with his camera. He explained everything so clearly that we knew exactly what needed to be done to fix our problem. Hopefully we will not have any repeat plumbing problems in the too near future, but if that should happen, we will definitely call Maplewood again, and we will definitely request David.

I had a toilet replaced & a bathroom sink unclogged. I found out each job was to be performed by a different person. The person unclogging the sink was very friendly & answered several questions I had regarding different options to unclogging and possible future cleaning of pipes for my older house. He was very thorough in the explanations, so I could make an informed decision on what to have him do or not to do. The person replacing the toilet was very good & efficient. I assumed (like with any other service we have had done at our home of 40 years) the workmen would look at the job and provide a proposal of the cost. This is where the confusion happened. He shows me a list of 4 or 5 options. This was unexpected and very confusing. The descriptions were confusing & vague so you did not really know what the service includes I was asking what all the different sentences meant and difference between the choices. I felt the explanation really did not help very much. I did not feel confidant in my choice. (I have handled many documents in my personal life & in my 32 years working for CPA's, so this should have been a no brainer for me.) Their descriptions in the contract need to be in laymen's terms. This would help the customer & the installer. With that said, I called their office the next day & voiced my concerns that I felt I chose too high a service for what I needed done because of not really understanding the choices. The person I spoke to, was unable to help but said she would have someone call me back the next day. The lady that called back the next day was very friendly and helpful and changed the service that was done to a lower choice and immediately refunded the difference to my credit card. I am very pleased with everyone I dealt with and the service was very good. I will definitely use them for my plumbing needs in the future.

My main sewer line in the basement was backed up and sewage was all over the laundry room floor. I discovered Maplewood Plumbing while scrolling through the posts on the Next Door App. Several people gave them rave reviews. We've had plumbing problems since October 2020. In December, we had water damage in our basement. We called Roto-Rooter, who did nothing but pretend to flush out the drain and charged us for it. How do you flush a drain with no running water. They stole from us and didn't fix the problem, didn't offer a guarantee and refused to come back when we told them the problem still existed after they left. Don't call them! Merlo Plumbing came three times, couldn't find the problem and charged us a fee each time. We were told that tree roots had gotten into the sewer line that leads to the house. Once they cut the tree roots, the drains worked for approximately 2 weeks after their first visit; 3 weeks after their 2nd visit and 1 week after their 3rd visit. Finally, they wanted to bust through the basement floor to replace the pipe that they weren't sure had collasped. We told them no thank you. After 4 attempts with those two companies we decided to call Maplewood Plumbing and we are glad we did. Our Technician was Courtney. He was on time, professional and knowledgeable about our issue. After we described to him what had been going on, he assured us that the problem wasn't in the house, it was outside in the main sewer line. The other plumber's all said the problem was inside the house. He worked dilligently to flush and clear our sewer line. We don't have any sewage or water coming through our floor drain into our home anymore! Thank you Courtney and Maplewood Plumbing!

2 Baths in a Duplex My stepson owns a duplex in South City that was built in the 1920's, so the plumbing left something to be desired. We received several bids to replace both cast iron drain stacks, re-work all of the supply lines for the two bathrooms, and re-set the fixtures. We chose Maplewood Plumbing as they were one of the least expensive bids. Brad, the estimator, was very helpful in explaining the project and showed us how we could save money by opening up the walls ourselves for the plumbers to come and do their work. All went according to plan and the project was completed and inspected on time. During the work it was found that some of the fixtures were broken and couldn't be used. They allowed me to bring new pieces in and they were installed for no extra charge. A few days after completion a valve started to leak in the basement. This was not part of the new installation, but an old valve that failed after having been opened and closed a few times. A plumber was on site within 90 minutes after I called and a new valve was installed in less than 30 minutes for no additional charge. Great to see a company that still stands behind their work and doesn't charge an arm and a leg for it. I'm very glad that we went with Maplewood Plumbing.

How do I know that these guys are awesome? Because I got to compare them to someone else that was awful. Our family had a leaky faucet when we called a well-known plumbing service. They had to come out multiple times to readdress issues with their last prognosis of total replacement for $1500. That's when we decided to look around for someone that was highly rated and promoted their knowledge of older homes. I wasn't disappointed. The guy that came (Tim, you are awesome) was professional and prompt, but much more importantly, knew exactly what he was doing. He was able to fix our faucet without any issue and didn't bill us for time to go get a special wrench. Our faucets look brand new and work like a charm, with a price that was a fraction of what the other guys assessed. Really, what more could you ask for?

Fantastic experience. We rent our home and our shower faucet had a slow leak. Our renters called a plumber and were told they no longer made repair parts for the brand faucet we had so he needed to cut into our wall to replace the whole system at a cost of $700+. Used Maplewood Plumbing for a camera inspection of our sewer line. David was our technician and he was fabulous. The process took about an hour. David kept us informed every step of the process and let us know what we were looking at on the video screen. The inspection included the line from the yard to the basement drain and stack, as well as the line from our yard to the main/public (?) drain that all the homes drain into. We also received photos and videos of the inspection. Highly recommend Maplewood Plumbing and David for camera inspections.

I had MO American Water out to check my high water usage. They closed the main shut off valve into the house to see if the meter still was showing flowing water between the meter and the valve. When they tried to restore water to the house, the gate valve broke in the closed position, i.e. no water to the house. This was "my problem". I had to call around to get a plumber immediately. After a couple of other companies said that they couldn't get to it for a week, I called Maplewood Plumbing. Nicole said she would talk to her crews and see who could squeeze me in. She requested an hour. An hour later she called and said that they rearranged a few jobs and a plumber could be there by 1 PM. Sure enough Robert was on time. He was professional and competent. He had to replace the 17 year old valve in tight quarters but managed to do it very cleanly. He was in and out in 2 hours and I had running water. No hotel for me that night! Our garbage disposal was having issues and eventually stopped working altogether. When the repair man came to our house, he said it would be ~$250 to try and repair it or ~$750 to replace it with a like model. It was already $70 to just have him come out, so i opted to try and repair it. He did a bit of clean out and hit the reset button (which i didn't know existed before this). It took about 15 min. However, it was still not running well. He gave me a choice of either paying ~$250 for effectively pushing a button, or ~$750 for a replacement. I knew $750 was high for a new disposal, but i opted for it because i didn't want to be out $250 and still have to call someone else to replace the garbage disposal. The whole thing left me the feeling of being extorted out of more and more money. They didn't separate the cost of the disposal with the cost of the installation, however, i found the same model online for between $250 and $300 dollars, which means the installation was ~$400 dollars. The average installation price for a new disposal according to google is ~$150. I will say everyone i worked with was very kind and professional, from the people on the phone to the repair man. He even fixed a few minor problems with the pipes. It seems to be good workmanship, although i am not qualified to determine that. They said it has a 1 year warranty, so i'm hoping they will be good about repairs if needed. Update: I just got off the call with them. They were appreciative of the feedback (always a great sign). They agreed to send me a more detailed invoice with the price of the disposal and installation separate. They also agreed to return some of the price (without me prompting or even encouraging them to do so).

Our hot water heater went out and I called Maplewood Plumbing. They were busy and placed me on their schedule for two days later but said if someone became available they would call me immediately. Later in the day they DID call and Aaron showed up to assess the repair. My heater was only 6 years old and it was difficult to find parts for. They and I both called the manufacturer REEM and was told a procedure needed to be taken in order to get a part cause they only send one at a time which is ridiculous. Again Aaron showed up and found the most possible part that was needed. It ended up arriving the next day and they fit me in again immediately surprisingly knowing I have a disabled wife and needed it repaired as soon as possible. I was unavailable, but she told my husband that we were correct in being overcharged on the two services, and mistakes can happen when two different staff complete the work. My husband said she was extremely nice and apologetic, the refund is already processed, and this ALL occurred within 5 hours of me leaving the original review, so I am fully impressed and stand-by my update to 5 stars. Maplewood Plumbing is the real deal and I'll use their services again. Original Review: We had a leaky toilet so we called Maplewood Plumbing to take a look. Shortly after arriving, the plumber said we needed a new fill valve and said it would be $225. That seemed steep, but I'm happy to pay a premium for quality work, which I assumed I was getting given this company's sterling reviews. In the following days, we noticed the toilet running in short bursts every hour or so. A quick internet search pointed us to the flapper. We tried cleaning it, but that didn't help. We had Maplewood come back out and this time we were told that we not only needed to replace the flapper but also the shut-off valve and that it would cost an additional $230. Given that a typical fill valve costs about $20, we had already paid them $200 for 30 mins of labor, so we were hoping this time around we'd only have to pay for the new parts. I asked what it would have cost to replace the fill-valve, flapper, and shut-off valve ask at once, he explained their flat rate pricing to me. Apparently shutoff valve is priced separately from the fill valve and flapper. The extra $230 was to replace the shut-off valve and he was replacing the flapper for free. I certainly appreciate the inclusion of the flapper and I'm happy that the toilet is fixed. However, had we known from the start that we were going to be spending $450 dollars on these repairs, we most definitely would have explored other options. Unfortunately by the time we were made aware of the second $230, we were already so far in the hole with this company that it would have been just as expensive to go somewhere else to fix the remaining issues. The next time we have plumbing issues, we'll be looking somewhere else.

No issue with the work. It was done quickly and no longer leaks. We had a problem with the pricing as mentioned by an earlier poster. They do not give you a breakdown of per hour costs; instead they present you with a dizzying array of possible prices for the same job which seem like a bait and switch routine or, at best, a fear inducing suggestion that the least expensive option may not be the best choice. The work was done in less than 1/2 hour and the rate per hour for what they charged came out to over $550 an hour*! It only has a 30 day guarantee because anything longer than that would have cost more. Hope the parts last! *(There were a few parts needed, but I factored their cost in to come up with the hourly rate)

The plumber who arrived also gave us tremendous information to consider moving forward, and then performed high quality (and very time-consuming) work. Maplewood plumbing has done a lot of work on our lemon of a house since we bought it 3 years ago. I was really excited to find a company I could trust for all our plumbing needs. They did recently change the pricing model, and I think they still need to work out some kinks with it. Our yearly sewer cleaning to get rid of roots from the tree in our front yard rose from $165 to $270 with the new model (With a $20 coupon) for a job that only took 30 minutes. After mentioning the drastic increase, the company was able to refund me $100. They also agreed to keep the price at $165 each year since we do it routinely. So I appreciate the accommodation on that. The only downside is that in the future, if we need different type of work done, I may need to call around for quotes instead of sticking with whatever Maplewood plumbing charging since this one service seemed to go up so much in price.

I hired Maplewood Plumbing to scope the main sewer line of a 100 year-old house in Clayton to understand the condition of the pipes and, if repairs were needed, to provide an estimate on work. David came on time to scope and record the video, but more than that, he offered to show and explain everything he saw to me on the spot. He was knowledgeable and very thorough. Over the years I've worked frequently with Maplewood Plumbing, and I've never been disappointed with the quality of the work or the responsiveness of the management and the workers. A couple of years ago, David came to my house to clear one downspout and to scope out the sewer line out to the alley. David insisted that I see the whole video even though there were no problems to be seen. I was very happy with the result. Yesterday, Egdiel replaced the sanitary stack. It was a job that required him to cut out the plaster from a part of the dining room wall. He did this with a minimum of destruction, and without leaving any mess. The plumbing job itself require a delicate operation that included opening a long sealed hatch to my ceiling and crawling through the attic to install a brace that would support the weight of the upper reaches of the cast iron before cutting out the cast iron pipe on the first floor. It was a very hot day and an even hotter job in that attic, but Egdiel did it without complaint and even though it was not an operation that his boss had anticipated. In the end, he replaced the stack, checked it for a good seal and cleaned up thoroughly. He was also a very polite and friendly fellow. Bravo.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Maplewood Plumbing! We were having a sewer backup problem in our basement and it had happened before. The last time it happened, we called Roto Rooter and they fixed it no problem so we called them again when this happened. The guy they sent out was rude and didn’t tell us what he was doing before he did it so he wanted to charge us $300 for basically doing nothing and told us we’d need to have someone else come out for an additional $400. Of course we said no that’s ridiculous. We asked to speak to his manager and he refused. Long story short, Roto Rooter really ripped us off and left us in the same position as we started. After they left I decided to give Maplewood Plumbing a call and I’m really glad I did. I explained everything that had just happened to Nicole and she was so understanding and genuinely felt bad for what we had just gone through. We scheduled an appointment to have them come out the next day. David and Thaddeus came out on time and got straight to work. I was so impressed with David’s professionalism and patience. He walked me through everything they were doing and made sure I understood exactly what was happening. He showed me on camera the root of the problem and told me what had probably happened and why would need to happen. They even went so far as to record a video on a flash drive for me to show to any contractor that would need to come do repairs as well as marked where the problem spots were. They truly went above and beyond. They were kind and courteous and knew exactly what they were doing. Their prices are extremely reasonable and they do not nickel and dime you like a lot of businesses like to do. I highly recommend using Maplewood Plumbing for any and all of your plumbing needs. Very happy with the last plumber and the third visit. However, it took Maplewood Plumbing 3 visits to get a garbage disposal installed. At least we believe this will be the last visit. The second visit only corrected the issue temporarily. The third visit, we learned that the original installation was wrong. Fortunately, we had other services needed. Would have expected some type of compensation for the frustration but unfortunately not. - UPDATE - Received a call from the owner of Maplewood plumbing to explain how this happened. Thaddeus was very nice and helpful. We were told by the buyers inspector that we had roots in the sewer line. Great experience! I've had plumbers from Maplewood come to my house twice. The first time, I had issues with my main stack, kitchen sink, and bathroom sink. I love this plumbing company. We have an old home (almost 100 years old) and decided to update the three bathrooms. We bought high end one-piece Toto toilets for each bathroom as was told by several other companies that they would not be able to install them. Frustrated, we searched for top rated plumbing companies and found this one. Robert has installed two of the three toilets so far and his work is exceptional. He is prompt, detailed, cleans up his work area and takes the time to explain what he is doing and any options we have. During the 2nd install, we needed to stick to a certain dollar amount and he was nice enough to update me regarding what I owed along the way. When two drains simultaneously backed up (with raw sewage) in my basement, I called Maplewood Plumbing for help. David the plumber arrived within a few hours and quickly determined what the immediate problem was (gunk trapped in a P-trap at the end of our driveway). David might have quickly cleaned out the P-trap and been on his way. However, he offered to stay and went to great lengths to pinpoint other issues with our house's plumbing that might cause or contribute to the same problem down the road. I have been a homeowner for 20+ years and have never encountered a more knowledgeable or enthusiastic plumber than David. He has was at my house for nearly two hours; the hourly rate was a bit costly, but considering all that I learned from him, it was definitely money well spent.

Maplewood Plumbing within a day of my call had a man (David) out scoping the line from the street to underneath the basement foundation slab of the house; marking key spots in the underground line with spray paint for any future remedial work David's comportment and attitude were thoroughly professional even to his dress being closer to the pride one sees in the comportment of technical trades in Europe. With an efficient work style and positive, upbeat attitude fulfilling the task - he provided me information as he went along to understand what he was doing and what his scopes revealing. By the time he had completed the job in 1 1/2 hours he had provided me a thumb drive video for my insurance claim, which was accepted by University City Dept of Public Works, which, to their credit, has a Lateral Sewer Program. We have an old house that needed much work from years of neglect. Broken pipes, broken water heater, and even a cracked stack. We were also worried the sewer was collapsed. It was a lot of work and was expensive to fix, but I am thoroughly happy with the work and will definitely use Maplewood Plumbing again! During our job, we had several different workers at the house for different repairs. Everyone of them were friendly, professional, and did awesome work! Pat worked even though he had flu, and he never stopped for a break. Very hard worker! Wil did the quote and the finish work and he is the most professional, yet down to Earth guy! I felt very much at ease with him, and that means a lot! David snaked and did the video for the sewer line and went above and beyond as well. He explained the process from start to finishwhat he was looking for and why he was doing what he was doing. He even makes sure to record the process and show a pic of the house at the beginning and end of the video. (I've heard of companies supplying video of other jobs!) David enjoys helping people and it shows in his work and personality! We had a couple of scheduling issues, but I work unusual hours and they worked with me, so not at all unhappy with them. I will recommend them to anyone and everyone I hear of that needs plumbers!!!

Maplewood Plumbing is as thorough and professional as it gets. They recently installed new fittings in both bathrooms including shower, toilets and sink faucets. We live in a condominium apartment building. In order to work on the plumbing, you had to turn off the water for the whole building. Maplewood installed valves designed to isolate our unit from the rest of the building so that will no longer be necessary. They also installed a new gas line into the unit for us and the upstairs neighbor. Now we can have a gas range. When finished, they thoroughly clean up after themselves, removing all debris from the premises. These are the people you want working on your house.

Great company and service! My service guy showed up promptly for my service time in the first 15 mins of the 3 hour service window I had scheduled. I didn't have a plumbing issue, just a routine inspection for my lateral lines. Best thing was my guy finished quickly and still had lots of time leftover for the hour I was paying for. And so, instead of just leaving early he asked if there were any other issues I might have, which I did (slow draining sink), and he took care of it as well in the allotted time too! Everyone we have worked with at Maplewood plumbing has been professional, conscientious and knowledgeable – and they are very familiar with the quirks of old city homes. After the old cast iron plumbing under our basement floor collapsed, they came in and laid all new PVC waste lines and replaced the stacks going up to our bathrooms and kitchen (a HUGE project). After that was complete and we got our basement put back together, we had to have them come and replace some leaking/old shutoff valves. The plumber who came was extremely careful not to damage the new drywall as he worked behind the wall. Employees who came to our house were always in a logoed shirt, so I knew it was them when I opened the door. Though I’m hoping we won’t need any more plumbing work in the near future, we will definitely call them again if needed.

Fantastic job, guys! I had no shower pressure in the home I just bought. They came out less than 24 hours of an assessment and did everything they could to avoid opening walls and replacing every pipe. As it turns out, they had to. They worked tirelessly to replace the old galvanized, corroded pipes for my bath and shower. They put in new PEX piping. It was an all-day job, but in the end, I was able to take a glorious shower!

Cleaned out a slow/blocked sewer line, including checking entire line with a camera before & after (and showed me different branches of the line as they went). Then replaced an electric water heater with a gas unit including mixing valve (to increase capacity); the gas line, water lines and drain lines looked like a work of art when completed. My wife no longer complains about the hot water running out.

After his visit we felt very confident we understood how our tankless water heater functions and how our basement showers can be modified to change water pressure and even change how hot the water is. Very thorough. David offered to use the camera and I took him up on that for my own curiosity. At $130 for the first hour, then $150 for each additional hour broken down in 15 minute increments adds up fast, so keep that in mind if you want/need additional time. I was given a 3 hour window and no one showed by the end of the 3 hours so I called. The guy scheduled to come to my house was held up so that had to send another guy (David). David showed up ready to help despite the fact he could have been going home instead, so I appreciated his helpful and happy attitude.

Excellent company ran by great hard working people. I had them replace old galvanized piping in my house. They did the entire house in 2 days! They showed up right on time and worked like crazy, even skipping lunch on the 2nd day to get the job done! I was really impressed by the workmanship - the way they ran the lines and made the bends - you can tell these guys are true professionals. I had them come out on the 3rd day to cable my sewer line, and they arrived at my house before I got home from work. While they were waiting on me, they noticed my neighbor was having a hard time getting her car to start, so they gave her a jump start. I think that really shows what kinda folks these guys are - these are the kinda guys I love doing business with. I'll definitely be using them again in the future!

I can't say enough good thing about the great service I received from Maplewood Plumbing! Will came out as soon as I called for a quote on correcting the low pressure on my hot water line in my 2nd story bathroom. He worked up 3 separate quotes for me from a backflush of the lines to a complete new bathroom. All of the quotes were hundreds of dollars less than the first company I had quotes from. I wanted to start with the simple backflush to see if this would help. Brad, the plumber came out today and within less than an hour had my hot water running better than it has in the 8 years I have lived in my 100 year old home!
