Installed mechanical interlock on panel as well as a generator inlet. I am a repeat customer of Hoffmann Brothers over the years (electrical modifications & installs, tankless h/w heater install, furnace repairs, etc.). As long as they keep doing quality work at a good price, I'll struggle to go elsewhere. I'm sure you can save a few pennies by shopping around, but when you're spending hundreds (sometimes thousands) of dollars on a durable good, why not go with a sure thing vs. coupon-clipping? This electrician was on-par with my previous experiences with Hoffmann Brothers - professional/courteous and did high quality work.

Darren was amazing. He explained everything to me as he went through the house we have had tiger plumbing come out and they were horrible. They gave us really big high quotes for things that weren’t even correct and so I decided to call Hoffman brothers and they sent out Darren and I am so thankful and so happy that so they sent out because he was amazing and did such a fabulous job that anytime we ever need anything again electrical wires on our house we will be calling and requesting him and only him and that’s not to say anyone else is bad at that team, but this guy was so amazing that we are very very very pleased

Hoffman Brothers set up my appointment in a very timely manner. I like the heads up call before they come out. Luke came to my home and switched out an electrical box outside that had been used for lighting. He put in a new outdoor electrical outlet for plugins. He had it switched out in no time and answered all my questions about the outlet and unrelated questions about an outdoor fan. Great job and I would recommend him and Hoffman Brothers.

We had an appointment which was to occur a week after originally scheduled. We received a call the next day there had been a cancellation. Joseph Lewis showed up less than an hour after notification: he analyzed the problem(the grounded outlet in our kitchen which was connected to our under cabinet lights was blown) and proposed a plan of action. It was fixed in around an hour. He also answered an electrical related question which was beneficial in understanding a security system issue. He can come to my house anytime.

Once again, we are thrilled to have Hoffmann Brothers on our side! Needing to have a bathroom exhaust fan installed that's a bit beyond our knowledge, Hoffmann sent us Jake, who arrived promptly at 7:00 AM and walked us through all steps that would need to be taken. We knew that there would be hurdles because of how the previous homeowners had DIY'ed the finished basement bathroom. Jake spotted several issues and walked us through all possible issues. He helped us find a solution for a fan and was happy to share his experience and knowledge to guide us through what would need to happen to replace the existing fan. We've had nothing but an incredible experience with Hoffmann, and we're happy that we've signed up for their home protection. As we move through the house to upgrade and update, we're finding more and more issues left by sloppy DIY from previous owners. I'm able to not stress over the small things, or the elements of fixing issues because I know Hoffmann Brothers will send us qualified, experienced, knowledgeable, respectful, and friendly technicians every single time. I've recommended Hoffmann to friends and family in the St. Louis area, and I will continue to do so. They have taken the stress out of homeownership and repair right off of my shoulders, and I feel comfortable and confident that I can trust them to make sure our home is not only up to code, but any job they are called for will be done right the first time! In my opinion, our electrician Jake, and our previous plumbing technician Rich have been a welcome relief from previous experiences with other technicians from other companies. Hoffman Brothers was recommended to me, and I am forever grateful. I lucked out when Tyler Sonsthagen was assigned as my electrician. He repaired our pump relay box after sparks flew and gray smoke fill our utility room the day before. He took time to explain as he showed me the repair and talked about safety with me. He also rewired our sprinkling system to code. In the laundry room three outlets were replaced with GFIs. And the list goes on; however, the take away is Tyler was professional, a good communicator, and most importantly, concerned about safety in my home. While they may seem pricier, the techs they send have always been professional. Every one of them are transparent with you (unlike Budget heating and cooling... which came with my home warranty), willing to teach you or recommend when not to do something. I’ve had two pretty big projects with Hoffman Brothers (electrical and plumbing) and can confidently say that their work has top notch craftsmanship (which is a big deal if you’re permanently doing something to your home and don’t want it looking bad). They stick with their scheduled time and text/call when they are on the way. Super responsive too when you have questions! The 0% financing (as of this writing) also help to make big projects affordable!

We have been using Hoffmann Brothers for HVAC maintenance and repair since the fall of 2021. They service our 12 rooftop units. They are wonderful - especially compared with our previous service provider. They show up - on time and ready to work - for each appointment. They do the work they've contracted to provide, and they follow up with me after each visit. Also, the provide a detailed report listing all of the work performed. And, they keep us informed about issues that could become potential problems. I cannot say enough positive things about Hoffmann Brothers. I highly recommend them.

I had a great visit with Adam H. who was extremely personable and very helpful. He went above and beyond to install a new outlet over my fireplace. In a single visit I got an estimate and the work done without a huge mess. The mess was so minimal because he carefully removed the baseboard to make sure it wasn't damaged, and he cut the drywall out in one clean piece, which is going to make patching the drywall extremely easy. I will absolutely use Hoffmann for future electrical work.

The previous installer had installed the 3-switch plate incorrectly, so it just needed repaired not replaced. I would definitely use Hoffman Brothers again. Joe came by to help figure out some ongoing electrical issues I had going on. He was professional, explained things in a way I could understand, and spent a good bit of time listening to the issues and researching them so we could find a solution. He made suggestions to fit my needs and explained future solutions that would be more costly but could wait for the time being. I appreciate his customer service, making me feel like a person and not just a number. I am a brand new home owner and on my own, so it felt nice to have someone want to help me understand and not just talk at me. 10/10 would recommend.

Hired Hoffman to help troubleshoot an issue with an AFCI breaker as part of a remodel job. They looked everything over and identified the breaker as the root cause, giving me piece of mind over the newly installed wiring. Later, while replacing the breaker, I discovered a few drops of water that had come into the panel, and called them back out to take a look. This is the second time I've called Hoffmann Brothers and their service has been excellent both times. I received the information about who would be coming, including a photo and a link to the technician's bio, before the visit. Given that I was not expecting anyone else home for a few hours, I appreciated the security of being certain about who I was letting in. Two technicians did a complete diagnostic of the issues I wanted corrected, all while working around a zoom call that started 20 minutes after they arrived. Once they had completed the quote, which included a couple of additional suggestions that really improved the outcome, but I had not thought of, they got to work right away. They were surprisingly quiet, and did such a great job cleaning up afterward that you wouldn't know they'd been there except for all the work! Highly recommend, and I will definitely call them in the future whenever we have a need.

We were worried it was something serious and it had become an eyesore in our home , but we did not know who to call or how to fix it. Chase was quick, smart, polite, and did the job well. He gave great advice and gave me all the info (and prices) I needed to make my decision. I felt comfortable with him in my home and would ask him back in the future for other tasks. My tenant reported that they had to reset the breaker every time they were using a space heater and the microwave. I called Hoffman Brothers because my tenant had seen your trucks around and I checked Angie's List and saw that you had excellent reviews. The appointment was scheduled within 2 days. Adam Humphreys, the technician, called me while he was there after he discovered that most of the first floor of the home was put into one circuit. With my permission he replaced the breaker and cautioned me and the tenants not to use the microwave when the space heater was being used. He was very kind, got the job done and I appreciated his communication. My only complaint is about the $95 service fee. I think the company should apply that to the cost of the repair if it is needed. The entire job cost me $303.09. Certainly can't complain about the work done and the advice given.

I finally used the Home Care Plan I enrolled in with Hoffman Bros. Dan came out to check on my electric range and electrical panel after the range shorted out and tripped the breaker. The breaker wouldn't go back to the on position and tripped the main when we tried to reset it. Dan found that the range and plug had not been wired correctly. It was tripping the breaker and was a fire hazzard as well. Very glad I had that home plan and they sent such a knowledgeable service person to help us. I will definitely call them again.

My only suggestion is that in the future kind of explain things on a layman’s level. Some of the billing, quotes etc. are very hard to understand and decipher. We had called another place in hopes to get it solved faster but they never got back to us. Though we had to wait 2 days because they were booked, I'm glad it was them that helped us. My review: I'm very pleased with the plumber John and electrician Joe sent by Hoffmann Brothers. Both were professional, efficient, and friendly. They gave me options and accurate estimates. Both asked me if I had any other questions or issues with plumbing or electrical beyond the reason for the service call. John even preemptively resolved an issue I hadn't yet noticed. I would use Hoffmann again and ask for both guys by name. My rant about other people's negative reviews: Maybe I'm a glass-half-full-kinda-guy, but I really don't understand some of the poor reviews I see for this business and related businesses on google and yelp. First, work done by a plumber or electrician WILL BE EXPENSIVE. That's life. Parts are expensive, and these men are licensed professionals with specialized training. My mom once told me that people who end up broke down on the side of the road are the same people who think the mechanic is always trying to cheat them. If you really think you can go to Lowe's, buy the part yourself, and perform the repair yourself after watching a YouTube video, why consult a professional in the first place? Just take the expert's advice, pay the bill, and think of it as an investment in your home. Second, you know that guy you work with who is totally incompetent but has somehow still managed to miraculously hold on to his job? Maybe he's the boss's son...maybe he's sleeping with the boss...maybe he just hasn't yet screwed up badly enough to warrant a dismissal. Anyway, my point is that there's probably a guy like that at EVERY business in EVERY industry EVERYWHERE. Sometimes you might just get unlucky and that's the guy that's sent to your home. Again, that's life. The good news is that most Americans take their job seriously and have pride in their work. And usually calling a manager can rectify the situation. Third, these guys are sent to multiple worksites and can't always predict how much time each and every job will require; therefore, you may have to wait for your service. An easy fix is to schedule the service call for the first thing in the morning to avoid the wait. In my experience with Hoffman Bros, I just asked John to text me when he was half hour away and he did. (Full disclosure: I don't work in any home repair or maintenance industry.)

First, I telephoned to Hoffmann Brothers (for the first time) and talked with Ross Augustin. I had a side-by-side GE Freezer/Refrigerator. Technician arrived at appointed time and discovered the problem. He could not get the part just at that time and will have to return to install the heater. He stayed and helped us empty the freezer as well as part of the refrigerator. That was a much appreciated job as he loaded my various ice chests so we could put the items into another freezer/refrigerator. We had a totally confusing situation that (long story short) gave us the pleasure of meeting workers from 3 of Hoffman Brother's departments- appliance repair, electrical, and plumbing. Our first appointment (booked two days out from when I called) was cancelled, then it took two separate visits (of being "on call" for them to come) to diagnose the problem and another visit to fix it. When they cancelled on us, we did get $25 off the diagnostic fee, but having to miss so much work was challenging for my husband and I. These guys, Joe Lewis specifically, are very professional. I had them run a new 220 box for a hot tub. This involved the normal electrical stuff but also digging through quite a bit of rock to get it buried to code. Joe was very professional and went out of his way to explain in a way I could understand. Even though trench digging was involved there was no mess. I also really like how you get an email when your tech is on the way. It not only lists their qualifications but includes a picture. The price seemed very competitive and was quoted and explained up front. I’m sure that trench took way longer than expected but there was no variance in price. These guys may not be the cheapest but really who wants cheap as a criteria? Professional, on time, price competitive, etc. Hire them :-)

Bath vent fan showed evidence of water around ceiling wall board. Dan did thorough inspection in attic crawlspace and in bathroom to determine that vent and ductwork were in good shape. Condensation of water on metal ductwork in ceiling due to cold weather was responsible. Removed ice and water from ductwork. Recommended leaving fan running after shower for at least half hour.
