Reviews of Portland Saturday Market

Good variety of booths, parking nearby. The sewer smell by the food carts was a bit much. The drum circle was by far my favorite part!
Stefanie Alarcon
Such a fun way to spend your Saturday! There are tons of booths to checkout and the booths have a huge variety of things to look at. Sometimes I feel like outdoor Markets just sell you dips, spices and knives. The Portland market has a huge variety of art, jewelry, dips and spices. 😜 I also enjoyed the variety of food vendors: North African food, pretzels, polish food. It was all over the place and it was so hard to decide on one. Most importantly their were a good amount of port a potties and surprisingly they were really clean. I’m not sure if they are always super clean but they were the day I visited. A great place for peeps with kids, dogs or to just go by yourself.

This place was huge! It was our first time here and couldn’t have been more impressed. Beautifully set up with tons of vendors. Due to covid there wasn’t as many vendors as usual but I still found so many unique pieces of handmade art. It was pretty crowded. Definitely try the pupusas and elote, it was delicious.
Gage Lawson
Amazing selection of food, arts, crafts, and so much more! Highly recommended that you check this and the Farmer's Market out on Saturdays. Wonderful pictures and art from local artists that are higher quality than anything you would find online. There's something for pretty much everyone at the Saturday market!

Such a lovely way to spend a Saturday! A variety of handmade and other goods. Nice selection of food carts and there is beer available. Wheelchair/walker accessible. It's a great outting for everyone!
James Stevens
It's a certain slice of Portland in a reasonably sized nutshell.
Pros: Lots of interesting things to look at and buy. No one's pushy. Stalls are neither too crowded nor too sparse. And lots (LOTS!) of different foods to choose from.
Cons: Can be a bit triggering if you've got an aversion to crowds or just social situations consisting mostly of strangers. It's out in the weather, too, which can be a bit of an issue for some.
Verdict: I kinda wish it were there longer or on more days. For what it is though, it's pretty cool. I'll be visiting more often as I find the time.

I love Saturday Market and with everything going on in Portland now days it was nice to be able to go to the Market and have that nothing has changed feel like when I was a teen. I am now an adult and Portland has lost all appeal to me but this last weekend I went to the Market and was able to just enjoy myself... the only thing that sucked was the price of food...

Okay for 1 time visit...
Lots of artistic items for sale but with artistic price tags too...
Finding a parking can be a challenge..
City of Portland needs to clean the surrounding riverfront areas...
And as the case with all major downtown areas, beware of homeless people...

A great place to shop as well as people watch! There are a wide variety of vendors and booths set up over quite a large space stretching from the waterfront over to Skidmore Fountain. There are also food booths and beer garden areas. My favorite are the secondary vendors- the guy wandering around flying tiny kites or the girl dancing in the fountain with a hat out and a sign with her venmo on it. I love seeing peoples' ingenuity.
Aletha Yates
The atmosphere was amazing! I bought art and delicious Ukraine pastry. I truly wish it wasn't the end of the season. Recommend for everyone come spring.
Kristeen Millett
It was very exciting attending Portland Saturday Market opening day 2021. Everyone was restful with social distancing when possible and wearing masks. Loved supporting the vendors and seeing people getting back to normal activities. Portland would not be portland without seeing a naked guy on a bicycle riding down Natio Parkway or some tents under the bridge. It was a gorgeous day and I picked up a few items I could not live without!
Jade Marie
I love the Portland Saturday Market! It's along the waterfront so the views great. The vendors are nice and there is plenty of food carts to choose from. Lots of items to look at, many are homemade. I highly recommend grabbing a bite from Angelina's Greek or A Taste of Poland Polish food cart.
Sumer Kuxhausen
We are visiting from out of town and loved this market! So many great local andartiats have stalls - tons of great 'made in portland' goods. It's a huge space and a great way to spend the weekend! Lots of food trucks as well for lunch!
Justin Linville
If visiting portland, spend at least a couple hours here. Really fun atmosphere and a ton of different stalls and vendors, to include food vendors. All of it is handcrafted (which can be both good and bad). Ecen if you do not buy anything it is worth going to see the sights. Live music throughout is a plus.
Hank Stites
Portland is such a diverse city. You see this, hear this, and smell this at the Portland Saturday Market. It is a wonderful mixture of a little bit of everything: food, music, fun, super shopping, eating, drinking, lots of kids, lots of dogs, and lots of interesting people from every corner of the Earth being super nice to each other.

This is well worth the trip if you have a rental car on the weekend. We were told that traffic wasn't that bad on the weekends and stay away from rush hour they were right! My mom who doesn't like driving in big cities thought it met her needs. Although I drove I didn't think it was any worse then busy interstates in Wisconsin even with the farmers market taking place. We were able to hit other places where we parked too and there's lots of lots along the way that it was easy to park you may just have to walk ~7 minutes to get to the market. The vendors were amazing too there was a lot of different things you can buy there and A LOT of different types of food. One thing I will say when/if you buy a beer you'll have to stay within a small area of the grounds that allows beer. I was a little cought off guard but the beer we got was amazing - never thought I'd like sours but it has become my go to in Portland! They are great (at least to try)!! Thank you Portland you've been great!

Saturday Market is a staple in Portland! Whether youre local or just visiting, it is 100% worth your time to come peruse the tents. Theres something for everyone. Food is amazing. I went for opening weekend last weekend and as always, no complaints here! SO much talent and amazing people.
Zac Yeow
Just a marketplace that sells a lot of different things that feels a bit overpriced. Many different type of food cuisines, woodwork, artwork, jewelry, hand crafted soap, photography works, etc. As a tourist it is alright to just come and walk around the place but not a must visit.
Ray Zimmerman
Lots of things to see. Lots of little crafty things and food carts. We were there for Fleet Week and the Rose Festival too. We got to see the ships in the harbor and see the parade also. Its also just a short walk to Voodoo Donuts. I highly suggest taking the Max train in so you don't have to worry about trying to park. It has a stop right at the market at Skidmore Fountain.
Lydia Cheng
This outdoor market is huge! Many different vendors selling trinkets, art, home decor, clothing, etc. There are also a few food stands throughout the area. I would suggest bringing cash but most vendors take card/Venmo as well.
Peter Carlesimo
Portland Saturday Market sums up all that is wonderful and quirky with the INCREDIBLE city of Portland.
You get to meet the talented artists who work hard to make this happen, even on top of their full-time occupations.
This is true of arts & crafts which we have bought and enjoyed over the years as well as with their cuisines.
They show the love each week so it’s our turn to show the love back and make a visit!!!
Dale McElmurry
This was an enjoyable Saturday afternoon with family. We walked around and sat all the booths, but didn't find much to buy. Most things were hand made and pricy, but we came to have something to do.
There was music and a variety of foods and drinks. The water play area was being enjoyed by the kids.
We saw a wide variety of people as we people watched. It would have been nice if they had some picnicking areas where you could sit and eat on the south lawn.
We feel like we can recommend this place.
ashley brown
Pretty crowded but amazing local art and food! And it's right in the water so you can go hang out by the river after you've walked all the booths or go explore the rest of Old Town
Lacey Forster
The Portland Saturday Market is the perfect place to spend a day of beautiful weather. They have tons of booths selling a diverse bunch of items like hand dipped candles, crystals, jewelry, clothing, food, art, and lots more. I've purchased so many beautiful pieces of artwork here from local artists that really know how to capture the spirit of Portland into their work. We have pieces from JR Slattum hanging all over our home, his shop has been here every time we've gone. I look forward to The Saturday Market opening every single year. Fair warning about the amount of homeless people that hang around here and that the Market can get pretty crowded at times.
Victor Wang
Really nice open air market only open on the weekends that's super easy to get to via public transportation. Extremely expansive space that spans multiple sections with a wide variety of food, many street artists and talented bands, some seating available but be prepared for a large amount of crowds. It is also closed in winter from Christmas Eve to February.
Dana Weaver Jr (Pyrat_King13)
Complete and total accident to be walking around downtown, while the Saturday Market was happening. I'm so glad it happened. TONS of unique wares and items for sale. Bring your wallet, there is something for everyone at the market. Street performers. Bars. Restaurants. People watching. Need I say more?
P.s. My pictures don't do it one bit of justice. I just really enjoyed the cobblestone roads and old world architecture.
James Nguyen
Awesome market with a ton to offer. Def worth checking out
Jenny Richardson
Fun to browse around even in the rain. Our friends took us here when we visit Portland as a place we had to see! We also went down the street to Voodoo Donut which is nearby. I would definitely recommend the market.
C.T. “CombatCritic” Sorrentino
Adjacent to and under the Burnside Bridge in downtown Portland, the market extends west across Pacific Hwy. Food stalls, arts and crafts, clothing and hats, musical instruments, jewelry ... you name it and it can be found at the Portland Saturday (and Sunday) Market.
You can find reasonably-priced parking in nearby public lots on the weekend or take either the Red or Blue Line to the nearby Skidmore Fountain MAX Station. Start under the Burnside Bridge next to the Willamette River and work your way south, then west across Pacific Hwy, ending your journey at Portland's legendary Voodoo Doughnuts to pick up a dozen of their unique and tasty treats to take home with you. Do not forget to take a photo at Voodoo Doughnuts and immediately across the street in front of the "Keep Portland Weird" wall mural.
Open every weekend from March through Christmas Eve, the market is open Saturdays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sundays from 11:00 am to 4:30 pm. Not much of a shopper myself, I simply enjoy people watching and sampling some of the eclectic food offerings both in the market and at neighborhood eateries.
Enjoy a couple of hours meandering through the 252 booths, sit and soak in the sun, watching the seagulls along the Willamette River, or shop to your heart's content. What more can you ask for?

The market wasn't too busy. Gotta try out the chicken tamale and horchata! The Chinese food wasn't so great, avoid that. Pizza was good tho. Rest of the line ups were too long. There is a lot of merchandise for sale, so definitely check it out!
Kristen Forrester
Don't ever miss this if your r in Portland on a Saturday!! A great avenue to show the exceptional artistry of entrepreneurs in and around Portland. Don't forget to go to Farmers Market at university to make your day complete!
Helen Smith
Lots of fun and a must-see if you're in Portland on a Saturday! I was a bit disappointed, though, that there wasn't a honey vendor or a vendor of dog treats / toys, as I had hoped to get those for the folks at home.
Robin Lauer
As always a quirky Portland experience full of art, food, beer and music. Probably one of the few places that you can eat fresh fruit while watching a rock band of shamans play a guitar and a didgeridoo. Bring walking shoes and an umbrella in the winter. Insiration, cash, and credit cards are artists best friends. There are plenty of locally designed tee shirts to pick from as well as jewelry and other wearable art. Face painting and balloons can make a kids day!
ron lane
So many things so little time
Everything from home made jewelry to tasty treats definitely worth a trip
Melody Kirk
Portland Saturday Market is much bigger than it looks. It's huge! There are well known artists, stunning jewelry shops, toys, rocks, and eclectic merchandise as far as the eye can see. I've lived here most of my life and I'm surprised I'd never been to the Portland Saturday Market before. Well worth visiting, especially if you have out of town guests to entertain.
Perry Low
Always interesting, something fun & wonderful to find every time, lots of creative arts, home goods, remedies, huge diversity of food & beverages, etc
Cloud San
Lots of fun, plenty of things to look , lots of arts artists, great food.
Talitha Eicher
Great choices for unique handmade items. There are clothes, jewelry, food, entertainment, and so much more. It is busy here but very much a "Oregon go to".
Angela Knotts
This is only open Saturday and Sunday and is a great place to find one-of-a-kind, hand made gifts. Lots of great food, music and atmosphere. Definitely could spend a whole day here.
Moose
mainly small jewelry and accessories sold here. Some good food carts here too
Mark Edmonds
Fantastic Saturday crafts market, lots of really cool handcrafted odds and sods. Could spend a fortune down there! Great views on the river too!
Narmeen Kagalwala
It's a good place if you want to buy handmade things or do just window shopping. Food stalls are also there of different variety. The disadvantage is that it is scattered as space is less in the old city. Benches or restrooms are not available.
Melody Murphy Kirk
Portland Saturday Market is a fun way to spend the day. There's art, food, clothes, toys, rocks, jewelry. I have a fantastic time every time I go.
S S
Love this. A variety of different art. Lots of painting, metalwork, Portland t-shirts, jewelry, soap, etc. Live music playing and tons of food options.
Lisa Lamkin
Wonderful market full of treasures! We always love to visit when we come to Portland.
Mimi Hsu
Such an awesome place. Loved all the different vendors and the products they provided. Everything was so beautiful and you could tell the vendors really loved what they did!
Kritz
Everyone was so friendly, we stayed here for about an hour and a half. We bought a few things and came back later after lunch.
Tungesh Kapil
Lots of wonderful vendors and located in a very beautiful part of Portland near the river.
One thing I personally enjoy in markets is the option of street foods - the Saturday Market in Portland is very limited in this selection. I would recommend checking out the multiple street food vendors in other parts of the city.
Susan Kennedy
Loved visiting this market! With good food and amazing artwork all around, it was a fun way to spend the morning!
Rebekah Sawers
There was so much art for sale, all hand made things, very awesome market to go for Gifts food was incredible.
Rebecca Stettin
This is a massive outdoor market. There were a ton of different items to look at. The artwork was beautiful and since it was a market with vendors, there was a huge variety. Plenty of free samples from the food vendors, and there is even a food truck and beer section near the river. This was a great way to spend an hour or two browsing independent vendors and people watching.
Shelley Jeter
This is a must while in Portland. It's everything you imagine Portland to be
Michelle Soto
Must go. I like to support local and this is the place. Very cool Vendors
Dave Silva
Nice place to get local, often hand crafted itemS from local vendors.
Dave Korpi
One of my earliest memories of Portland 30 years ago. Still going strong despite the homeless and drug epidemics the plague the west coast.
Heather
Interesting and artsy market, lots of food choices. Fun place to people watch or stroll along the river. Always an exciting experience😀 …
Brice Lenz
Love all the awesome Portland artists! The Walmart corn dog guy can go.. yuck!
Greg Hall
Great arts and crafts market. Food trucks along the river. Kids water fountain to play in on south edge
Charles W.
Everyone should visit Saturday Market, to get the full Portlandia effect. Booths of homemade crafts, tie-dye clothing, just about everything imaginable that is hippie. The food carts are tasty; the food coming from them even tastier!
Jerilyn Brown
Outstanding vendors and a plethora of wordly cuisine to fill your belly and your spirit. Most are reasonably priced. Plenty of seating away from crowds for a respite in the shade. Music, sounds and aroma's delight the senses. People watcher's paradise. Don't take my word for it, go... Go now! Open 10-5. Best parking right off the Parkway on Taylor. $5 all day compared to $5 per hr elswhere, 5 blocks from the park.
Shinyoung Kang
Can experience the Portland arts! Various vendors and unique arts stuffs! We really enjoyed the market!
Christopher Ross
There is nothing else in the world like it. Amazing artwork that spans foods, clothing, wall art, jewelry and fun junk.
ryota suzuki
I didn’t buy anything just walked around and relaxed on the grass.
Feeling so good and there are many interesting stuff throughout booths.
Tinky Weed
It's fun. There's some good food. Good music. Most vendors are more expensive than they should be, but still fun to go to. A must see Portland staple.

Always fun to walk around and look at the booths. Lots of cool stuff, great for gifts, and a must-do if you are visiting Portland as a tourist.
Johnny Avalos
Love the PDX Saturday Market...always a top notch place to spend your Saturday or Sunday!
Andrew Kub
Impossible to go there and not spend money. They have great art, beer, empenadas, jerky, and candles. Literally something for everyone.
It says it opens at 10, but some stalls open earlier and many sell out of goods, not a bad idea to get there a little early and secure parking. It's right next to the Japanese American Historical Plaza, so see that while you're there.
Andy Land
Fun place. Great food. We walk around the park too. Great exercise for our off time. Lots of cool artists have products here from woodworkers to candle art and jewelry. It can get crowded on nice spring days so be ready to enjoy a slow stroll and take the sites in.
Anne-Claire Weil
Love this place for gift ideas snd so on !
Nice local shop with good artisans
Emily
Lots of nice shops, I personally really enjoyed all the food options.
Gary Ross
I enjoyed walking around and sampling different foods and browsing the many vendors who sell their wares. Two Navy ships were anchored and offering ship tours but the lines were so long i passed on that.
Brianna Elder
Market is here every weekend. Full of awesome vendors....food, clothes, music, art and other goodies. Porta-potty’s located under the white stag sign. Good location so you are a quick walk to many other cool parts of the city after the market. Big park on both sides to hang out before/after market
Brandie Lucero
It was wonderful! I really enjoyed the experience. Family, and there dogs it was great.
Yas 22
Amazing Market.. U can enjoy shoping and eating from many vndors.
Echoleo O
This is such a nice place to spend a Saturday afternoon! There is tons of music, and talented local artists! You can walk around and look at all the cool things! From clothes to self portraits (that they will do on the spot!) to sun catchers and so many other things that are worth buying and seeing! There is tons of great food, and basically all of it is local! I recommend this place and community!
Kim Butler
Very interesting hand made jewelry, wood items, hats, scarves, shirts and sweatshirts. Lots of food to choose from. One of a kind items that are $$$.
Michael Hansen
Shop around, lots of vendors selling the same things at drastically different prices.
DO NOT BUY THE TOKENS!!! They are a bad ATM scam. For $4 and a minimum $20 purchase, you can have tokens instead of cash to shop with. Unlike cash, these might expire and are unusable anywhere else.
Use an ATM, pay less on fees, spend your cash anywhere. This is a college campus afterall, use your noggin.
Liz Beth
We were there for the 45th anniversary and it was amazing. What an awesome collection of artistry in such a beautiful place. Portland is a lucky city!
Jordan
Great time walking around and seeing local art. Plenty of food vendors to satisfy a wide range of appetites. Would recommend checking out when in portland
Jimmy Cureton
Super fun place with awesome handmade children's clothing and toys. Look for a vendor named LOLPlay.
chhaya soni
Must have experience, if you happen to visit Portland over a weekend. This will make for one of the best creative adventures..
Greg Downey
Easily one of my favorite Markets I’ve been to in all my travels. Not only is EVERYTHING sold there of top quality, but the crafters are all such kind and friendly people. They’re all happy to tell you not only the process behind their products, but so too what’s worth checking out while you’re in town!
Dustin Shidler BS-RT-R-CT
There are knockoff booths here with cheap trinkets, however there are some really cool hand made products. Great food. Prepare to pay a premium for some of them! Decent Rings from 60...300 plus. Hand blown glass bird feeders 65 dollars. I'd bring 120 dollars minimum. Please plan your way in carefully as the homeless camps we walked through were close and quite frankly scary.
Tommy
Lots of booths and food. Great place even just to sit and people watch.
Tyra szal
Amazing art and artists, good food and close to the waterfront for a nice walk through the downtown area.
Jason Costello
This place is soooo amazing. The # 1 stop in Portland. A must for sure. Check out the awesome Batiks there.
Tiffany Shedenhelm
Aside from being hot and busy it was a great experience, so many local talented creators in one place
Will Reiher
Keeping Portland weird and fun. Don't skip visiting the market. Great variety of vendors and food.
Max Pietsch (Max)
A lot of excitement. Many vendors so something for everyone. I got a t shirt and two paintings from a local artist for my wall. It was nice interacting with the people who made the art.
I also had a burrito and acai bowl and had a nice time chatting with the store clerks about fun places to see nearby.
Gregory Hockley
Always fun stuff here
Patti Tupper
Wonderful array of craftsmen. We loved visiting the booths and chatting with the folks who created their wares. Easy, good time!
saujanya reddy
Such a cool place to spend an afternoon over the weekend! So many artisans, the food and the ambience all worth a trip!
Joe Rodriguez
They have all the food and entertainment to keep you coming back for more. I look forward to Saturdays here at Portland Saturday Market !
Martha Thacker
Nice art/ craft by the water front. Not many food carts there.
Wynnifred Buzby
My kiddo and I are regulars, we enjoy walking around, seeing certain vendors we enjoy talking to, getting a bite to eat. It is a bit rough on the sensory processing front, so we keep our visits under an hour usually
Tera Clipse
Totally worth it! Great food great music..expect to spend $20 for everything lol
Dj Chiles
All I can say is if you've never been...GO! It's amazing, fascinating, very interesting artists and crafts people and good eats everywhere. This is my latest Saturday Market aquistion.
Sandi Sturm
Not what I remembered from a few years ago but still fun to walk around. No produce though which is what I was looking for. Some very creative people from the area showing their products.
Kevin H
Lots of homeless and it stinks. But it looks nice.
Toby Cobb
Great way to spend a Saturday or Sunday! Great food trucks and awesome craft vendors. Music, Beer, and people watching!!
Kendra Avenell-Hernandez
Thank you, for all you all do. It's a joy to walk around, see all the smiles & do some shopping.
Tim Hunold
I've been coming to the Portland Saturday Market whenever I'm in town to visit my parents. There's an eclectic mix of things from catnip to custom kitchen knives even Japanese paper art cosplay pieces custom housewares all sorts of neat things. There's also quite an interesting selection of food vendors. It can be a little bit crowded but it's also neat to see what's going on. You'll meet a lot of dogs too 🐺
Lettuce Taco Bout ‘it
One of the most amazing places on earth 🌏. Art, fresh flowers, food, music, beer garden and more. Pet friendly. Local tourist attractions nearby all over..... …
Anne Rhodes
Wonderful selection of crafts and good food. Right down by the river and we got some delicious creme brulee samples!
Susan Danner
Too much smelly stuff for me. Most vendors weren't talking to anyone. I don't stop or buy from vendors that are playing on their phones.
Viet Duong
Nice atmosphere with good food, could use more variety. Saw a lot of essential oil, woodworking, and candle stands. Many selections of art, but could use more variety of stands overall
D Littlejohn
One of the best outdoor artisan markets in the country! Full of interesting vendors with really beautiful and unique products. We found several cool things we really loved and purchased. Overall great experience!!
Ace Savage
Awesome that they're back after the pandemic. Wasn't as much booths as pervious years, but was still fun for the family. Lots of local artists that are amazing!!!
A J
Beautiful handcrafted art stuff.. people here must go and enjoy this place on Saturday morning. It's a pool of talent and fun.
Hannah Szloboda
Amazing local experience, so sad that we moved to Portland during COVID because this would have been such a beautiful thing to experience most Saturdays (Sadly closed early this year). Very much enjoyed the local food & art vendors. Everybody was very friendly & views of the river were stunning! Great local photographers as well that will kindly explain different areas to hike to for some great shots!
Katie Delgado
I've always loved the Saturday market, but it's become so crowded and there are drug users shooting up everywhere! My boyfriend and I walked right by someone shooting up in their ankle. Gross.
Mike P
Lots of different shops. Leather work, pictures and lots of unique arts and crafts. Tons of different food choices from around the world. Asian, Mexican, African and Afgan.
Jordan H
If you are looking for an event that showcase local artists in an interactive and personable way look no further. This weekly event is an awesome way to experience some of the art and culture of Portland artists and artisans and is highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't experienced it at least once!
Ruslan Z
Great tourist attraction filled with handmade jewelry and art. Every place we bought from accepted cards. There are a few food trucks and a great view.
Lorelei Quenzer
I'm so glad the market is back open! Great vendors -- you know you're getting something unique since you're usually buying directly from the artists. Go with a budget and stick to it -- if you can! I kept getting drawn in to different booths even after I'd promised I was done.
Shadow Soul
Huge market with lots of vendors.... definitely worth checking out in your in Portland
Rebecca Pannaman
I love this place. It's on the river and there's all kinds of food and music playing. People are happy and the stalls are setup beautifully. I always try to go to this while I'm in Portland and I highly recommend it. They have all kinds of cool crafts and interesting things. Soaps, clothes, home decor... Etc!
Lisa Zinkie
Super eclectic mix of items. Very 420 friendly, also. They have hemp everything, filled churros (if we hadn’t just eaten...these are amazing), henna tattoos, concert tees, jewelry, art, bags/purses, basically anything you want. It was fun to wander through the place. Stop and get the fruit with tajin from the mexican pop up. Soooo good.
Rachel D.
Love to browse and check out the work of local artists and artisans.
Burton Jackson
Lovely place to view local art, and people.
Riste Buc
Very cool place. Love the food and music.
J Faggg (JT)
So much fun! I got henna done! Plus theres cider samples and kombucha there too
Rishas Car
Very new weekend stop all the shops\vendors
Amberlyn Storey
Was actually there for pride but came early enough for market too. It is a nice setting and right on the water front so view is cool. Nice little place to chill and people watch. Lots of supplied honey huts to use. Several shops were closed and many opened at random times so doesn't seem to be a strict guideline. That could be frustrating if you go there seeking something specific. That could also just be due to pride weekend so hard to judge. The same applies to the massive crowd. Nothing is fun when u stand in super long lines etc. I am going to assume it isn't usually like that though. The food offerings were great for the most part. Lots of variety and some even reasonably priced. Some were pretty crazy prices though. I mean booth style fair food should not cost more than restaurant food because the overhead is way less. That was my main complaint so you have a choice to bring your own food, buy a less expensive option or overpay.
Kara Hikalea
As much as Portland has gone down hill. Going back to the Saturday market for the first time in at least 15 years, it was nice to see somethings don't change. Beautiful art work. Talented crafters. It was overall pretty amazing.
Glen Lord
The culture the people the shopping the music, what a great wayn to spend a lazy Saturday morning
Shad Sharma
Lots of vendors come out and show off their wares. Fun to walk around. Food stalls have a variety of good food, especially for lunch. Support local artists, and have fun!
Mr Me
It was fun. A little hectic. Some items were a great deal, while others were ridiculously over priced.
Isaac Sebastian
Great food and the street performers keep kids entertained! Also great collection of oregon made products!
Kasandra Natewa
It was fun, but nothing too extraordinary. The art pieces were unique, the atmosphere was chill, they had some good music going, but nothing that "wowed" me. It was just a nice walk.
Ana Laura Raya
This place is amazing! Always enjoy myself here. Open on Sundays as well! They have live music throught the day, my favorite bars the Super Duper Marimba Bros! Beautiful well made art pieces for sale made by the artists themselves. Do not expect to pay department store prices! These item are delicately made and thoughtfully pieced together by some amazing people found at this market!!! A great way to spend the weekend in town 🙂 and a great place to take friends and family. Did I mention the Ice cream you can get there?!?! Hands down THE BEST ice cream I have ever had in my entire life!!!!!
James Rogers
Had a great time. Lots to see and buy
Shel D
We visited this market on Saturday morning and it was so much fun. They have everything from jewelry to flowers to henna tattoos to great food & drinks. Most of the boots take cash but others have evolved into accepting credit cards which makes it easier for people to shop. No need to run to the ATM every second anymore.
After walking around and a short bike ride around the water where the market is located, we got hungry and decided to give one of the food stands a try. A Thai place. We got Pad Thai dish with shrimp. It was amazing!! I couldn’t stop eating. It was perfectly cooked and delicious! I’m so happy we got a chance to visit this market. If you go do not take a car. Red an orange bike which you can return there as well and enjoy your time.

For us living in the Portland area it is a accepted regular. Just when we have visitors coming to town or need a little special gift. Then we remember what essential institution this market is. I bought a lot of gifts and brought a lot of friends. And then it is amazing how awesome the market is.
Thanks to all who work there. It is not just a business they add to the core value of the city, make it lovely and special.
Randi Ann Castro
Cool idea, really crowded not a lot of space for the food lines and people to walk past. Maybe if there was more space around the food stalls it would be better. I got a veggie Gyro and it was amazing, want to go back just for the food!
Odessa Michelle
I have been visiting since I was a kid and it has always been one of my all time favorite places! You cant beat the great people, food, entertainment and shopping! Theres something there for everyone! Any age, and any budget! I love to bring my daughter and watch her play in the fountains after walking through all of the vendors! Perfect way to cool down and end the day!
Kate Wirth
I hate to say, I was rather disappointed after going here for the first time my last visit. There seemed to be a lot more junk and really odd stuff than nice artisans and makers with something you'd really want to buy. There were a few nice stalls with talented folks and appealing wares, but not enough to go out of one's way for a visit, in my opinion. My mom, who had been there a few years prior, thought it felt not as good as before. Shame, as it's a great spot along the river.

The Saturday Market is one of my most favorite places in Portland. I've been coming for years. Not only is it a great place to see local artist's work, but it's great for kids (they'll love the wading fountain and elephant ears!!), great food, great music, great vibe in general! If you happen to walk down the waterfront, you'll probably see music circles, buskers, spray paint artists, and so much more. Definitely a must-visit!!
Monika Piazza
This market is so cool! We come here every time we are in town on the weekend. There is something unique to find for a birthday or holiday gathering. The food is fantastic. The wares are quality. The artisans are just fabulous and quite varied. It's in a perfect location, right along the waterfront too. We highly recommend this market.

Saturday Market it's really cool to visit!!!🤙 …

Fabulous way to spend an afternoon, there's all kinds of creative works, whether it be art, food, wearables or other products.
It was a lovely stroll with plenty of interesting and diverse things to see and smell and taste.
Perfect to meander on your own, with a friend, or with family.
I found some absolutely lovely things that I could not leave without. Make sure to bring your wallet.
Jason Kusch
They really have cleaned it up and made this a pleasure to visit. Last time I was there with the kids they were scared from all the homeless and druggies but they loved it this time. Weather was nice, great choice of vendors and food. We had a great time and the kids loved to play in the water fountains. Would definitely go back!
Jose Aguilar
Not a bad little market. There are so many homeless people in the immediate area, it made it feel a little unsafe for my family and I. We had a few bothering us while we were walking around the market.
Noah W
Such a fun place to browse local vendors selling their goods. I really enjoy browsing all of the art that is being sold. There are a lot of forms: jewelry, wood carvings, yard art, and paintings. Personally, I enjoy viewing the paintings the most. There are a lot of really unique and inspiring pieces and it's really cool to view them.
If you're looking for good food, there's plenty to be had. Coffee, beer, Mexican, Thai, and more.
There are some musical artists that perform, as well. All in all, it's a fun mix of vendors and people to experience.
Terry Cassis
Great eclectic market, kinda whacky in a charming weird way. Lots of cheap junk, some pretty cool stuff, some very unique and nice things. Good food stalls. We visited Salt and Straw and had amazing ice cream chocolate hazelnut in a fresh made waffle cone with olive oil candy dip. Very unique and good!
christina cudworth
I've been coming to this market for 22 years and its still my favorite for so many reasons. They have a great selection for all price ranges. The flowers are worth going just for that. You can get great, unique gifts for anyone.
jennifer kinney
Great market!! Lots of local artists have booths as well as local foods and many interesting things. Definitely got that great Portland vibe of weird and fun. There’s usually locals making music as well which is great, somedays you can even catch a didgeridoo player!
Stacy Gildersleeve
Been here many times. This is the place to go to find great local artists selling their amazing wares!
Enrique Cendejas
Awesome time seeing so many unique artists
Carolina Margaria
Fun market to explore local artisans works and sample some food stalls.
Mizuki Sakurasora
Lovely walk, good food, a nice circuit of crafts and local talent. I'd recommend the smart park off naito and Davis, they do validation for many places, even if you don't visit somewhere that does it's fairly cheap.
O S
Always worth the visit! I usually stop in a couple times a year. Even if you're not spending any money, there are always cool things to look at. Lots of unique, high quality handmade items. Perfect for gifts or furnishing your living space.
Yamho Chan
Current COVID pandemic the number of vendors isn't at what it was. It was still good and interesting picked up a few items. I'd recommend grabbing a bit from the nearby food trucks and people watch on the promenade.
Thomas Huckabee
I love this place for Christmas. I picked out a vase for an gift and went to another booth to buy the flowers to put in it. I bought a Lazy Susan for my Christmas Party, along with some beautiful bowls. I do my shopping here every year. I fill up with soaps to throw in some stockings.
Mahadev Eakambaram
Great way to spend a lazy Sunday morning. Get some fresh air and Sun (if possible). Peruse through the local artisans ware. Encourage and support them as it has a good positive effect on the Sunday market. Variety of handmade artistic pieces available for a very reasonable price. Some good restaurants are close by off you get hungry. Overall time and money spent is worth it.
christine Mox
Nwe was Aot the Saturday market we used to hv, but still nice. Wish there was a little bit more variety, I mean, how many different soaps can u buy?? Food carts although not as many still really good 👌 …
Ellary Deferrers
It is also open not just Saturdays. The entire strip is clean and ppl are well mannered. The food prices are a little more expensive than other places as expected. A good walk along the water. I loved the market, so many artisans selling their wares. We ended up buying quite a few bits to take home. Loads of crafts & food alike. A must do if you’re in Portland on a Saturday.
Kemley Nieva
A lot of different stands with many things affordable! Great vibes and a must do if visiting Portland! Kids and dog friendly! They also have a little water fountain for small kids to play in. Lots of food options from gluten free bakery to gyros to shaved iced!
Amy Olsen
So many artists! This is a great way to spend a morning. You often get to meet the artists and hear about their process and inspiration while getting some great deals on local gifts/jewelry/art. There's also a yummy selection of food trucks for brunch.
JaiLinnS
I seriously love going to the market!!! There are some great gems here. I also love meeting the vendors and getting to talk to them on how they started their craft. They have music, food, and tons of things to look at and buy. This place is always a go to when I visit Portland!
Reza Moghadam
I loved it. I found very valuable things over there like leather products,, skin care products, and most beautiful flowers that one of the booths was saling.
Shanice H
I had never been to this market before, I loved it. I am a fan of these finds of things though. I picked up some artwork and ate some decent good. Which the exception of masks, things almost seemed back to normal.
K J
This is a craft fair/flea market/food tent thing. A fair number of the artisans and crafts folks who sell here are selling local and unique items. You can find some really cool stuff. It is busy and crowded, but they do their best to plan for that. It is an enjoyable experience.
D Tefft
I love this place. It's been a family favorite for years. The only down side is the that downtown is full of homeless people these days. For the most part they leave you alone, but there is always the random person/people having full on arguments with some invisible foe.
Sam Keske
Local art, local food and drinks, and a great view of the river. Alcoholic drinks have to stay in a tent area, but they're a good way to warm up for meeting the local artisans. Can get chillier than the surrounding area in the shade due to breezes off the river. Good stop in conjunction with Voodoo or the other nearby sites.
Dakota “Kota james” Lawhead
Had a lovely time today at the market enjoying the amazing, and fresh food. I believe this was only the second weekend of the new season so there wasn't too much foot traffic to deal with, however there was a big section of vendor spaces still missing. I'm very excited to see what new vendors will join this year.
Patty Piazza
Never a disappointment for natives or visitors. Talented vendors with an array of products. There's something for everyone. Great eats available on the grounds. Mingle, shop, eat and enjoy a day outside in downtown Portland! Dog friendly.
Malcolm Steele
Nice market. Well worth the visit.
Paul Carrow
Best of Portland Art scene! The Sounds, Smells, the Excitement in the air! Most of all the Treasures to be found here, handmade at that! I've adventured down to the market since I was in middle school back in the early seventies when they opened. It's part of my history and fun memories. A Must do if you visit Portland!
Nova Damion Maddux
Always such a pleasant way to spend a saturday. The food is always delicious, the drinks as well. I also love the plethora of options that you have to choose from when it comes to the shops. The owners are all kind, and answer whatever questions I have. I visit quite often.
Clifford White
So cool. You can spend the whole day here.
Devin Dabney (HHLH)
This is one of my favorite things about Portland. This market is of an amazing scale - bigger than most I’ve been to, and certainly some of the best scenery around it. A wide array of vendors with various creations, a plethora of food carts, and a ton of performers - all along a beautiful waterfront scene that spills into the urban landscape of downtown Portland. There may never be a Saturday that I won’t want to come here.
JJMarishka
Wonderful place to spend your money for very good (I would say Great) products.... Everything is made 100% by the person @ their tent! Awesome way to support your local ma & pa businesses. They have everything: fine hand blown glass, Jewelry, Framed art ie. sketches & photography, hand made hemp & leather purses, wallets, wrist bands, & collars for your Doggy! This is just the tip of the iceberg here.... You won't be disappointed going even if just to look around. They always have live music & tons of food carts/trucks/tents.... Excellent way to spend Saturday or Sunday in
Portland, Oregon!
Zevanix
Very nice! Lots of interesting product stations and people to talk to. Good food as well, lots of variety in food for all tastes. Wouldn't recommend food for people with extremely sensitive food allergies (especially nuts and peanuts) because of any potential oil in the air, even around food booths that don't use it. Besides that, amazing environment! There were people selling jewelry and nicknacks made from spoons and forks, Henna designs, wood work like cutting boards and bowls, places with paintings, and lots of different clothes to fit anyone's style.
Josephine Mico
Although my sister has to drive us through the traffic the experience is worth it all! Truly delicious and memorable memories. We try to make this a tradition when our schedules allow us to do so. It is a wonderful experience every visit!
Cecilia Díaz Enríquez
Lots of great spots to see local art and products!
virginia
Always a lot of fun to make a day trip of visiting the Saturday market! The location surrounded by some local favorites (Voodoo Donuts, lots restaurants and bars, more shopping, etc.). The market is MASSIVE and the variety of merchandise makes shopping fun. Definitely would recommend visiting, you never know what you'll see!
Allie Marini
It's just fun to walk around. Lots of cool vendors but I'll be real, my favorite part of visiting is the Rose City popsicle from Kulfi PDX. And the stuff you see around. Spoiler: I don't think that bat is coming back, LOL 🦇 …
Keith Gilchrist
Awesome outdoor market showcasing local cuisine, artists, and vendors. Good prices. Fun scene. River backdrop. Amazing artists and artisans. Live music, fun vibe. Open March through Christmas Eve. Don't miss this market when you're in the area on Saturday or Sunday.
Mel Pedersen
Such a diverse group of artisans... FABULOUS
Patrick Johnson
This is a massive collection of local vendors with one of a kind handmade crafts. Everyone visiting Portland NEEDS to go and experience this. There are food vendors on hand if you get hungry. The only thing I would warn is that the prices are extremely high. Especially if you’re traveling frugally.
PO
Use smart park$4. It's great fun for the whole family. Be prepared to spend about $10 per plate for food and $15 to $20 per item there.
DON'T BUY THE FRUIT CUPS!!!🍉🍍🍌 They are not good! They looked good on a hot day then we tasted it.
Ken Cousens
This is a really cool part of downtown Portland. It was a little crowded because of an event going on. The parking isn't too far from the area also. They have a variety of restaurants in town and they also a lot of food truck options available. The streets are somewhat clean.
Robin Bennett
This is a magnificent arts and crafts market with a wide variety of artists/vendors in a gorgeous setting. Jewelry, clothing, stained glass, pottery, tea, sweets. and tons more. Lots of food vendors, too!
Christian Giffin
Portland Saturday Market is always a good time. There is never a shortage of good people watching and I finally ran into the. (50🌲) guy and got me a tee shirt! So excited!! The owner/creator is a super amazing guy. If you haven't ever heard of his brand I highly recommend you check out his website. Just running into him made my whole month!
latefa redjouh
Very touristic place, with great, cheap food. Lots of local vendors more or less interesting. Good place to drop by if you are in the area. The park and the river are right there as well so very pleasant neighborhood. I had a small pic nic there and that was very nice.
Abby Wright
Great market!! Lots of local artists have booths as well as local foods and many interesting things a great way to spend a weekend so much to see and but plenty of food to choose from a very large variety of local vendors selling their various crafts edges along a part of the waterfront so you can break away for a little walk.
Phil Osophy
We love the Portland Saturday Market. So many cool and unique item's from northwest artists.
Great selection of things to eat from around the world. Performing street artists and beautiful waterfront park. It makes for an enjoyable day.
Douglas Calkins
So much beautiful, unique hand made art and craft! Hundreds of booths to browse for souvenirs plus super tasty food carts with an amazing variety of options. Don't miss this truly Portland experience
Karina Kisselite
Can spend an hour walking around checking out local artisans. Stuff ranging from jewelry and art to teas and craft chocolate. Open on Saturdays and Sundays. Bunch of food trucks as well.
Jonathan McGrath
I go to this almost everytime I go to Portland. It's a nice little market with shops and tasty street food. There's always music or some attraction. It's a really awesome just hang out and casual social event for anyone and all ages .
monica rodriguez
Pretty cool! Lots of talented artists/vendors, art, jewellery, food, soaps, leather goods. If you park at "SmartPark" parking garage, you can validate your ticket for a free two hours.
John Bemis
This is a downtown craft market, highlighting locally produced goods. The food available was pretty much standard market fare. There is beer, but you have to stay within the relatively small tent area. A nice collection of crafts and products with average prices for a craft market.
Ash Bunny
I really enjoy the Saturday Market. There is a huge variety of foods, things to buy, musicians who play around it, talented buskers, etc.
There are some outlets along the waterfront, though they are sparse. Spots to sit are somewhat limited the farther you get from the eating areas or the waterfront.
It is a very Portland experience though that can be fun for the whole family.
Marty Greer
Lots of fun items, some very unique. Tons of jewelry. No produce but good food selection. Long lines at the potties and the cost to park for 30 min was $15 due to the jazz festival - a bit of a rip off for out of town guests.
Micheal Niday
Fun place to go just to get out for a day. Lots of cool stuff to look at and buy. Food is good. Watch out for the homeless and sketchy people. Be very conscious and aware of your surroundings when your down town.
Rob Moore
Biggest Saturday market I've ever been too. Very awesome. I got some great hot sauces and very nice craft scented soaps that I love. Giant water fountains for your kids to beat the heat. Awesome food stands as well. Only advice is to remember where you parked as walking deeply into the market may have you turned around and eventually lost, as I became. Lots of homeless sleeping on sidewalks but what are you gonna do? It's portland...
Briana Cordova
Fun little place to go on a Saturday morning! Lots of good food truck choices and art stalls. Amazing pieces and a diverse selection, too!
Jamie Harris
Oodles of little stalls selling unique items, food, art and just about anything you can think of. The Saturday market is a great place to spend the day browsing, eating, listening to music and of course people watching! Portland is weird and proud of it, and nowhere is weirder than the Saturday market!
Eugene C
We spent about two hours here. My wife enjoyed all the different arts and crafts stands. I liked the local food vendors setting up shop. My favorite were the sapousas! It flows across the street as well. Park at the three story parking lot on Davis St for $5 the whole day.
Karen Jones
What an experience! It was huge and there was something for everyone. So many beautiful items. Jewelry, clothing, art, woodworking....the list was endless. Did get quite crowded as the day went on. If you really want to be able to shop, get there early!
Amber Toler
This place is so cool. Even if you don't buy anything there is so much to look at and its a nice area to walk around especially on sunny days. The food trucks are diverse and all of them always look and smell so good.
Kyrie Elizabeth
Lots of different, locally made shop tents. Not many food options but elephant ears are always good. entertainment is limited unless u have extra cash on hand. Sometimes the silver man is there. Dont get pick pocketed, bring a purse that zips up.
Brooks Payne
The Saturday Market is amazing! So many incredible artist and unique booths. This is one of our favorite weekend stops.
Tra Diggz Certified Fresh Media (Gunnjakc)
Nice to get some Oregon art or food
Jessica
This place is so much fun. I go quite often and there is always so much to look at and so much to do. Paintings, clothing, food, they have it all.
Randy Brown
The wife insisted we stay in Portland one more day so we could visit the Saturday market and do glad we did. This was the most amazing market place I've ever seen.
The market is a mix of great food booths, arts and crafts, metal sculptures, jewelry and a theme of keep Portland weird.
We didn't buy anything except breakfast, coffee and ice cream because we had to catch a plane home but if we lived there we'd have found lots of good items for home and decor. No charge to get in, except we paid for parking. Best $6 expense in Portland, Ore.
William Pulley
Great place to kill an afternoon, generally some local music playing and the food carts are pretty fantastic. Homeless everywhere though, generally high or incredibly drunk, most of them leave you alone, that's the only downside.
Paul Marshall
Great event . Parking is a major pain but once you get parked plan on a few hours of looking around. There are 2 sections. One is 50 or more venders selling goods and trinkets from all around the world. Move closer to the river and you have another 50 plus artesian selling all types of hand made goods. Lots of food to be had for everyone's tastes. Been there 3 times now. Always find something special.
Brett Harper (Killer Space Bunny)
Portland Saturday Market has been a staple of Portland, OR for so long! I love going down here, getting a drink or two and a bite to eat, hearing music from local musicians, browsing the shops, etc. I think that a better variety of carts that would better appeal to those of lower and middle incomes would be helpful. I think some of the items have become very pricey at these things. I would also like to point out that there is a very aggressive Christian group that likes to show poster sized pictures of dead babies near the waterfront and food areas?! Security has done nothing about this for at least three years now. I would feel a lot happier and I'm, sure others would feel more comfortable if pershaps they did.
Neil Watson
A must do in Portland if you're here when it's opened. So many unique vendors selling everything from trinkets to delicious food, from soaps and lotions and oils to the most beautiful crafts. Not to mention a great location by the river. Don't miss it!!!
T RP
I expected a lot more. Lots of t-shirts, trinkets, and stuff I don't need. It's very pretty to be down at the waterfront and the food wasn't bad, but I think there are better ways to spend my money. Unless you're just going to get some exercise and relax.
Francesca Crispo
We visited the Portland Saturday Market from Seattle. It's basically what you would expect from any market - tasty food, cool art and goods, LOTS of people. Everyone we encountered was super nice. There isn't a ton of shade, though, so be prepared to take breaks if it's hot and/or if you bring a dog.
Marlo Baker
This is the best window shopping I've had at an Oregon weekly market. Great food selections, a wide variety of crafts, and even music. The location is great, you can check out the park right next to it. These photos are from the Earthlights booth.
unholyandrotten 666
Been going here since I was 4, I am now 33 and Saturday Market never disappoints. 🤍 …
Preston Mandas
They are making a comeback after the disastrous Covid restrictions. Hopefully the market will host a full selection of venders later this summer.
kavi m
Good experience. Handy to have cash, especially for the food trucks. Excellent way to spend an hour or so in Portland, strolling about and looking and or buying from the various vendors. Parking is a bit difficult, going early helps.
Rosemary Funk
I've been going to the Saturday Market since 1978.I moved away in 1983 but every time I can get a chance to go to the market I go. I love the Saturday Market the vendors are wonderful.
They have a wonderful variety of artesians. I'm posting a photo of a carrot with catnip toy for my cat that I bought and she loves it !!
Beth Posner
Wow! So many vendors with handcrafted products I'd never seen before and we definitely bought more than we had intended because of it. The food smelled wonderful and we filled ourselves with burritos and roasted nuts.
Christopher Van Putten
Amazing market, and almost year-round!
Sheldon Hatcher
Always nice to visit the city.
Angie Olivo
It was an amazing experience, to be with local farmers and their products. Some were very inventive and super delicious <3
Really recommend, for those that visit Portland for the first time. This place you might want to add it to your list of places to visit in Portland, Oregon :)
Pat Ligonde
I was visiting for the weekend and enjoyed the views, food and arts/crafts. Parking was available nearby.
Anthony Alvior
I really enjoyed strolling through part of the Portland Downtown and river area at the Saturday Market. The weather was also perfect for checking out all the arts and crafts kiosks as well as the drink and food trucks/tents. I wish we had something like this back in Houston. There is also live music from a variety of artists and there is plenty of places to sit and just enjoy the view and people watch. There is a variety of delicious yet inexpensive eats to choose from, and I DO recommend trying the Elephant Ears if you've never had them. The sugary pastry can get a little sticky and messy, but it's so worth it! Plus they give you hand wipes to clean up afterwards. After enjoying the Saturday market, you can stroll up and down the park alongside the river along with everyone else. Definitely a very cool outdoor affair!
Lynda Graham
This place has many talented artisans that offer a variety of handmade goods. The vendors were friendly and made my family trip here very fun!
whvtitiz w
Portland Saturday Market is great to support local artist in Portland! In order to have a booth at the market you must make your own items in Portland! Great vendors who are all truly unique and gifted artists. Variety of crafts, art pieces, plants, health tonics, soaps, photography, jewelry, knifes, furniture, hot sauces and more! Great food vendors with music playing and Rogue brewery serving beer. Great for tourist and people visiting or even locals too. Cheers!
Lindsey Webb
A great place to check out local goods and art from area artists and vendors. If you are looking to buy handmade, unique gifts, this is where you should check out! They have a decent selection of food carts and vendors as well, although they do tend to get busy. Whenever a friend visits from out of town, I take them here to show them a little of Portland.
Lonnie Danger
It doesn't get much better than this if you're looking for a weekend shopping market experience.
Max train drops you off/picks you up right at the market.
Market is right on the waterfront so you get great views and a nice break for a walk along the river.
You'll find a nice combination of ever changing artists and some who have been setting up there for years. Lots of food and drink cart-style foods to choose from. Great place to find a unique gift or some new art, jewelry or useful household items. Always some thing interesting to see or buy.
Tami Keller-Sheets
Visiting Portland Saturday Market is always a great experience. All the vendors are required to sell only locally made merchandise (that is the vendors closest to the water/Naito Parkway). I love all the pottery. There are also a lot of neat clothing and decor items made from recycled products. There are also photographers, painters and jewelry makers. Giving oneself a few hours to just walk and browse the booths is a treat. It gets pretty busy after lunch hour. There are usually many well behaved pups on leash.
Allison Tipp
You can find a gift of the arts or crafty type for every walk of life down here! There's so many booths to explore....
Ive been Enjoying this downtown pdx treat since I was a child and now I love bringing my children here also. Take time & spend explore while indulging in yummy foodcart cuisine!
Sam Adams
I love me some Portland Saturday Market: Unique products, arts and food!!!
Matthew H
We love going here to get high quality hand-made gifts for people. We also usually bring family and friends here when they visit from out of state as a fun event. Even if you don't get anything, it can be fun to browse. We usually run over to the farmer's market at Portland State University afterward to grab our weekly vegetables and more local goods while we're downtown.
Steve Sears
Girlfriend took me to the market this weekend and after the problem of finding a parking place, we had a great time. There are many different food booths, some good, some not. It's really a bunch of food carts that I would guess are somewhere else the rest of the week. Lots of booths selling goods, with a rather strange large number selling cutting boards. We bought a catnip toy which the cat loved. Will definitely go back
Chris Towner
Really cool Saturday market. Probably the best outdoor market we have ever visited. There are a lot of vendors of unique art. Great people watching. After visiting the market you can walk along the river. Many great restaurants in the area.
Matthew Morgan
Unique wares with a great smattering of people watching. I saw someone play a didgeridoo here!!
Brian “BK” Koehler
Fun little market for the family to visit - great stop for visitors on the weekend. A wide variety of vendors and craftsman - as well as potential for lively entertainment. We were impressed by the Unipiper - look him up if you have not seen his Facebook...it'll entertain most people. On a nice, Sunny day - this could be a blast for the family all afternoon. However, It would be a bit soggy on a normal, grey and rainy Portland day...
Leslie
Fun arts market right on the water. I bought a very cool plant rooter and Keep Portland Weird magnets since I was a tourist visiting from Florida! Next time in Portland, I'm going back. Just a side note Portland drivers are so much nicer than Florida drivers!
Ryan Soper
It's the Portland Saturday Market! How could you not love it. I've been hundreds of times and it's always fun. They've definitely stepped up their game as far as food carts and beer gardens go which makes it even more fun to go and visit.
Jason King
Very good outdoor Saturday (and apparently Sunday) market. Plenty or makers selling their wares. Look out for the hot sauce sellers, their stuff is good. The Ethiopian stand's food was a bit too bland. There's live background music. Found a couple of presents, plenty of choice.
Jessica
Portland Saturday Market which is the oldest and largest continuous public market in the nation. Been going since 1974 and runs every Saturday & Sunday March 1- December 31
Scott Meriwether
Ok, not a lot of things to do in Portland. Rather dirty and sketchy. Really getting bad and dangerous with drug addict homeless around. To bad. Portland need to get it together. As we will not visit there again. The market is great. Pricey, and obviously semi permanent vendors.
Alex W
Like a real life Etsy, this place is almost overflowing with unnecessary artwork and crafts. Pathways are tight, crowds are thick, dealers looked depressed. One of the best parts was getting to the green space to the south, and finally escaping from it all. The highlight for the family was the travelling fairy who was making giant bubbles. She gets 5 stars. The rest is a 3.
Steven McCluskey
What a wonderful place for the true culture, of what makes Portland what it is today. Enjoy the fine crafts that are made by hand and sold on this huge scale. In the longest running open Market. Portland Saturday Market, has something for everyone. No wonder people come from all over the world, to be a part it. I know because every weekend I’m here rain or shine.
John Chowning
I found 4 great items. Cat nip toy, Small day of the dead style skull painted on a small piece of 2×4, organic/herbal based face cream for roseascia, and the real find...wait for it...A Red Elm 70" D style long bow with a canvas back. True craftsmanship at work from Steve Boss that is functional art as it will rest on its "belly" so if strung the string would be up and resting on the canvas back to allow wood to relax naturally after use. It just looks great!
Reesey Campbell
Had a great day at the Market with my guys! Street tacos, elotes, and so much more! We wandered the rows of booths with ample space to peruse. Hubby was a bit disappointed that there was only one vendor with canes so his search will continue, and I missed out on tamales, but otherwise a lovely experience!
Matthew McLean
Cool market place. Much bigger than I expected it to be. There is a ton of food scattered around to different areas. There is also beer to drink that must stay in designated areas. The elephant ears are delicious and recommended.
K Wa
A great way to spend a Saturday morning In Portland, tons of booths of art and food, a lot of people walking around. I suggest the pizza booth, one of the best. The crafts you can find there are one of a kind, created by and for the market.
Rian Ragsdale
Portland Saturday Market is one of the most iconic parts of Portland. It's all sorts of amazing small and home-brewed arts and crafts that have evolved into full-blown businesses. I love it.
Mark R. Smithson
Portland's Saturday Market is amazing. You would be surprised at what you can find to buy...or just look at. And it's open Saturday and Sunday! My favorite purchase is a quesadilla from the Mexican food stand (I eat one every visit). Most days there's live music, everything from a single musician playing, to whole bands. One interesting fellow was dressed as a Star Wars character, riding a unicycle, and playing bagpipes. One young lady made the sweetest music on the violin. A group played one Saturday which included the longest didgeridoo I've ever seen. The didgeridoo player recorded parts of their music, while playing, then looped the recording back adding it to their song. Talk about multi-tasking!
There are also public bathrooms with running water, not porta-potties.
When you've seen enough of the Market, there's a park next to it where you can relax and watch all the interesting people.
Indaris Nerothan
A great place to go during the weekend! They're open Saturday and Sunday.
The Saturday Market is a great place to go for affordable food. Almost everything is under $10.
There are a lot of homeless that hang around, which is unsettling.
Ann Whittemore
Saturday market is always fun. Parking sucks, but that's pretty typical for DT pdx
Greg Smith
It's fun and interesting, but ultimately not going to be different to most other community markets you have been to. If you like artisan jewellery, candles, soaps and tshirts, it's for you. Otherwise, it's gonna be a little bit meh.
Carol Koehler
We go at least 3 times a year. Like the Napal food, elephant ears, cat toys, variety of art and music. Didn't like the Spirits Fest taking away all the tables and seating area. They should have moved it to the grass.
Xiomara Choto-Mueller
I love this market. Everyone is so joyful and willing to help. There is always something form if live music that adds to the ombience of lightheartedness. I would highly recommend to visit if your are dropping though Portland or even if you live here. It's pet friendly and super nice.
Erin Kelly
Loooved this place! So big and tons of vendors. It’s right on the water so it’s great! Parking was iffy, we ended up paying $12 for all day parking, but were able to walk around the area. We headed towards the Nike store and around the nearby areas. Definitely recommend coming here
Jillian Valentino
Super fun event, lots of local artists from all different backgrounds. The food is cheap and good, and prices can vary depending on what you buy. Porta potties are near the end of the event, also very clean for porta potties.
Drew Beesley
I used to work at a school in the area and a few of our students decided it'd be a good idea to eat an exceptionally hot pepper purchased from one of the stands here. 5/5, would witness a life lesson learned again. Also got some amazing ramen and really nice produce. Definitely reccomend!
Laura Gudman
Portland Saturday Market is like Etsy on the waterfront. I highly recommend coming by every so often and just look around. You will never know what you might pick up!
Savannah Kutkat
I've enjoyed this as a local and while bringing out of towners here. My favorite part: functional art. Handmade ceramic soap dispensers, toothpaste holders, sponge racks... It's easy to find room in your home for handmade art if it serves a purpose too.
Aleja Salando
The crafts available is diverse. From relatively upscale wood work to cheap mass produce keychains 'pasalubong'. The further you are from the river the more generic it gets. I love wood work and have affinity towards carpenters and craftsmen/women, I enjoyed the visit.
Andrew
Large variety of local artisans and food vendors all hawking their wares along the riverfront. This lively event draws a good crowd and is perfect for finding unique gift items and/or tourist memorabilia.
David Warner
The Diversity of craft work and food has had not match for me prior. As an outsider looking in, it was a wonderful experience! Hope to travel back one day to see what's new!
Christina Wilson
May 5th was my first time going to Saturday Market. Absolutely love it so many different booths. Some sell real raw honey, game meat Jerky not to mention the street performers. They are amazingly talented. Can't wait to go again soon!
Fileve Tlaloc
One of the iconic spots to visit in Portland! There is something for everyone, although it can be a bit overwhelming, it is the best place to purchase a gift made by local artisans. Support local arts and crafts. There is plenty of food available as well!
Farhan A
Lots of amazing stands to check out from natural soaps, art, clothing, food, and more. If you go before the week of Christmas I believe its everyday as opposed to weekly. They have more stalls down the street as well. My favorite was Rileys Soaps! They have a cool place to sit down with heaters and a little stand for live performances as well. Information booth is closely to the cross walk. Would recommend checking out if given the opportunity.
I've got to mention that behind there was a pretty big homeless community and it may be off-putting when next to such a nice little market place.
Dr. H
Great selection of stuff. Especially tasty foods and artist created knick knacks. Overall, a great day to spend a couple of hours on a Saturday.
It's a good way to see the "weirdness" of Portland though the local artists eyes.
Kim Hawley Perkerson
This is a must-do when you visit Portland. All kinds of artists, food trucks, live music...it was a wonderful way to spend a Saturday morning.
Cat V
Massive market with all kinds of things. Food, crafts, music, performances, so much fun!
Later edit: not as full now, I guess because of covid. You can find things like art, jewelry, soaps, lavender items, clothing, and cat toys. Lots of food vendors in particular. They also have porta potties with a hand washing station. It is a standard craft market.
Vickie Sorensen
I was visiting from out of town and visited the market with family. This is my new happy place. The food is amazing, performers that play music. We bought some clothing, yummy food and sweet smelling handmade soap.
Ace
Great Experience with all the entertainment from local coty folk or performing gigs. Wide variety of local homegrown and made from scratch venues. Really get a exciting taste of Portlands passion and pride. Always have a great experience from trying new eats to shopping or enjoying the tunes.
K Ta
Quirky little place to visit on the weekends. It's getting extremely jam packed with booths and people. It is a good touristy spot to visit for local items. The vendor booths offer interesting items but I really enjoyed the variety of food booths.
Mother Tucker
Filled with quite a few finds and people. I ended up purchasing a kicker filled with catnip and a strawberry smoothie that helped with the heat. I sat by the water drinking my smoothie just as a river boat went under a bridge that raised. It was a fun experience.
Pete Huffaker
Glad the pandemic is over. Missed going to this place for all that it offers. This is a big part of the Portland scene.
Dailey-Cameron Heath-Smith
So much fun. Many different shops that are from or local to portland make all kinds of things like, jewelry, lotions, clothing, art, and much more. There are tons of food carts and live music as well.
Andra Whitney
Found what I was looking for but the area is very run down these days. Not sure I'll go back
Geoffrey Collier
This is a great way to spend your Saturday morning/afternoon. There are tons of vendors selling all sorts of arts, crafts, and food items. There are several food vendors as well as Rogue Brewery serving near the live music stage. The fountain provides a make shift splash pad for kids. Restroom options are limited to the Honey Buckets near the river and a dirty public restroom on the other side of the road. Cash is King of course. It's great to check out the vendors, people watch and catch some live music. If you get the chance to see him Martin Watkinson plays an amazing solo cello performance.
Wendy Melger-Wingo
TMobil service works here. Good place to play Pokemon Go if you are into that. I like vendors and it’s always a nice place to take out of town friends
Cathleen Manseau
Always love Saturday Market. Amazing handmade items with such a wide variety of things to choose from. Can't go without stopping at The Spoiled Cat and getting more organic catnip for our cats. Rob and Carla recognize me now! And if course my fave artist, J R. Slattum. Can't leave without stopping by and seeing him. And getting another painting. Or three.
Beth S.
I fly from Columbus, Ohio to Portland, Oregon and Saturday Market is ALWAYS a top priority destination. There are 2 "particular" vendors I always buy from. I love the vibe of the market and can spend the entire day there. The food, entertainment, and vendors make for a one stop destination. Something for everyone.
Luke (lukesoccer21)
Much better than your standard flea market. Less old junk and more artisan crafted articles.
Cons are: less than ideal bathroom situation (portapotty) and standard City smell.
This trip I got a real leather belt for my skinny ass and a clay toothbrush holder. Both decently priced given the time put into making them and materials.
Live music and food vendors are scattered throughout the market, don't forget to cross the street, there's more market over there!
Zoë Cauvel
This is a great place to walk the river and enjoy downtown Portland at a distance. Lots of local artists with gorgeous products on offer. Plenty of lawn to walk when the sidewalk gets crowded with bicycles.
Kimberly Kay Scarfe
Love Portland Saturday market! Why I love it you may ask? Love the food vendors (especially the little Polish one at the entrance to the section along the river, best perogies EVER!) Many local vendors it's a fun stroll just looking at everything!
oleti veena
Nice please ,we enjoyed a lot
Matthew Adams
Live music was for kids or old people. Rogue beer served was in 12oz cups. Market itself was touristy and not necessarily interesting. Ice cream by the stage was fantastic! Nice family outing.
Heather Stinson
Variety of handmade or home grown items. A lot of character. I'm a window shopper, so i can't speak on pricing. But i could walk around here every weekend and see something interesting and different every time.
William Johnson
There are so many vendors at the market. You'll easily find something that sparks your interest and discover new things. From food to jewelery, they have it all. And people there are super friendly. You can also do a bit of haggling with prices and not feel pressured into purchases. Live music is played here as well.
Heather Lawrence
Love the Saturday market! Something for everyone! Great place to aquire art and unique, one of a kind handmade stuff! Bought a t-shirt for my new son from a place ALWAYS a permanent fixture..."Eat Locally "I think it's called? (His picture sign is a Dino eating a City like PDX) Also, I think May is my favorite time to go to the Saturday market, there's concerts, food, and the market stretched all the way to the River side! Go you're going to love it! Support the local Artisans!
Jewelz Mac
Great place to get away to or take visiting family & friends. Good eats & so many interesting things to look at & buy. Venders are friendly. They have security & Portland Park Rangers there. Voodoo Doughnuts is nearby as are many other shops etc.
Lauren Oliver
One of my all time favorite places to visit when I am in Portland. So many fun things and creative minds
Christephen Cypher
I love Saturday Market, it always good place to visiting and catching up with my friends, family and have date time with my wife there. Some booth are same as others. I dont know if anyone notice that, I do. Portland of people are so friendly, some arent, its happens sometimes.
Jess S
Absolutely so much fun! If you are looking for a fun day in Portland, go to the Market. Enjoy local brewed beer, tasty treats, and beautiful fares. This is a fantastic way to experience PNW and Portland culture. Enjoy!
Yogilachi Wellness
An eclectic mix of local artists and food along with the typical fare. A must if you visit PDX. Fun to also walk esplanade over the bridges and around on a sunny weekend.
Kimberly Bond
Great variety of vendors. Excellent artists and good food.
Phil Ye
the event offers a lot of fun time for families and visitors. The vendors are not pushy that the very welcoming if you pay attention to their commodities as well as food and beverages.
Jeremy Fezz check out my IG: kaptain_kropdust
It's a pretty average Market. It's got a little bit of entertainment. Large array of foods. A lot of trinkets. It's good for the local community and artisans, something to do with the kids.
Aaron Reynolds
It's worth an occasional visit. It seemed like a lot of booths were seeking the same things: soap, pictures, handmade clothes, etc. There are some good food options, live music, and in the summer a fountain to play in. Plus you can stroll along the water front.
Justin Niles
I've been to many outdoor and farmers markets, but the Portland Saturday Market trumps them all!
There's such a vast number of vendors, you can browse a seemingly endless number of artisan products. And there's some great local food available as well!
Craig Buchanan
Artsy & Weird & Fun, _if_ you're into little stalls & some chaos as people amble about. If working your way through well-meaning crowds isn't your thing, this is not the place for you.
There's an astonishing variety of art & crafts on offer, in terms of media & quality & style.
Deepak Pathak
When in Portland and it's not winter, just go there at least once!
Brian Krauss
Wonderful market, the place was packed with sights, sounds and smells. There are a ton of vendors here spanning from artists to clothing makers. The food smelled fantastic. A great way to spend a Saturday morning
michael peterson
Great out doorr markdoor market for plenty of water as it gets really hot. Not good for small kids, like at all! Prices from vendors are pricey. Awesome food/ beer garden. A must if visiting Portland. There are alot of homeless around however, so be mindful of that.
Master Yoda
This is a awesome place, because not only u can eat good organic food, but also the merchandise u can come across they are hand made buy loving, caring and just down too earth. I'm not from here I'm from the east coast, and we don't have no Saturday and Sunday market I just love Portland it's so awesome to live here
Cole Bredall
Large seasonal weekend Market around Skidmore fountain. Vendors sale delicious food, beautiful local crafts, clothing, and typically some live music. Only drawback is how crowded it can get. Other than that, the Saturday Market is always a fun time and one of my favorite attractions in Portland.
Kill Joy Jr
Its expensive and they food we paid 20 buck for was garbage now we only ate from one place so it might have better places but the Chinese food was grouse I could make that from prepared Costco packages and taste better, stuff expensive but their is cool things to walk around and just look at 20 buck gets you maybe 1 thing 100 maybe 3 depending on the thing I wouldn't suggest for college or younger students it too expensive but visiter it fun to get your Oregon stuff from their and its show our Portland culture pretty well
Dude
In A Nutshell:
-The Portland Saturday Market sells "handmade" items (as opposed to the adjacent Portland Skidmore Market, which sells "imported" items).
-If you are looking for some great, super-soft T-shirts, then this market has what you are looking for.
-The market is cleanly laid-out.
-It's a small to mid-sized market, easy to find & navigate along the Willamette River.
-There's live music & of course plenty of food & more beer options.
Overall, it's also open on Sunday, which I found out during a recent weekend.
Elliot Lisac
A Portland staple that is a must if you're only visiting town for a weekend. There's food carts, local wares, live music, performers, and a cool fountain on one end during the warm summer months. Take a few laps, grab a bite to eat, and sit down for some entertaining people watching.
Maigen Thomas
The Portland Saturday market experience has not improved over the years, with many vendors selling items that do not appear to be homemade or unique. There are still vendors that create their own goods, but they seem to be few and far between. The panhandlers and homeless people with mental health issues detract greatly from the experience.
Kaci Bleau
Worth a look-sy, even just to people watch. Lots of vendors. The food is hard to resist when it smells so good, but then a ton of food carts aren't far from there, so plenty of options.
Antonio Mendiola Jr
Great to walk around on a weekend!
John Meadows
It was nice calm and quiet. Plenty of artwork to observe and a wonderful place to visit if you're looking for a gift. Vendors were very nice and attentive.
Michael Rossi
Love Saturday market! I found a great hat for an event I was going to. They always have cool merchants. King Cajun sells the best spices anywhere. Highly recommend!
David Gregory
It's an ok market. There are tons and tons of people when it is warm out. We go a few times in the summer and the booths don't seem to change much. You usually end up parking a ways away and half to walk past a bunch of garbage and drunks on the sidewalks. It's fun a couple times a year though
Sam “SgT” Sergeant
A must every Saturday if you are able. Great local artists and crowd. Good food cart selection and so much to see. Great for the whole family.
Jovanny Ferreyra
Cool place to check out. Lots of variety of products/selections. Cool vibe, live music, beer/wine, food. Lots of vendors with quality/handmade stuff. Definitely a must check out, especially if you are from out of town.
Brian Amer
The Portland Saturday market is really nice! There are lots of artists and other vendors selling unique clothes, jewelry, and pieces of art. The food selection is very good and the location by the river is perfect! Happens on Sundays, too.
Todd Medema
Lots of fun and innovative artisans
Simply Call Me 'T'
Lots of vendors, very nice variety of great custom made arts.
Lacey
Fun little market of hand crafted goods and food stands. You can find handmade jewelry, soaps, and even a turn yourself into a garden gnome booth. The market is right next to the Max and Waterfront park. The splash fountain is a bit cold, but my son didn't seem to mind
PDX Striker
Love going to the market never a shortage of fun booths to stop into. Great variety of goods a must go if your in Portland on a Saturday.Super close to other great shops and Voodoo doughnuts.
Robert Henderling
It use to be great....oh how the mighty hath fallen. It's basically a tourist destination anymore. You can find a few good artists there and some good food, but for the most part, id say find something else to do
Nichelle Groover
If you are visiting Portland, make sure this is on your agenda. It will simply give you life. DO NOT eat before you go, wear comfortable shoes and open your mind(and wallet lol). Definitely a reason I will return.
Jacob King
If you want local art, they got it. If you want hand made jewelry, they got it. If you want random food, they got it. Alcohol, yup. All different kinds of clothing that are to die for, youbetcha. It is insane the amount of people and stuff that there is in this side of the town. If you want to get trapped in the awe of Portland, this is the place to go... just be careful what you look at because you might end up buying quite a few things you didn't "need"
Taylor Alexander
Massive market with tons of unique art, yummy food and good people watching. I only take public transportation into it, so it makes it a little less stressful because I imagine parking is a nightmare.
Sruthi Muralidharan
Delightful farmer's market, with live music, lots of produce, farm products, flowers, plants, baked goods and great selection of food! Its a fantastic spot to hang out on a Saturday morning.
James T Wood
A Portland tradition that doesn't disappoint. This open-air market is filled with sights and sounds, smells and tastes that evoke the best of the Pacific Northwest. Locally made art, clothing, jewelry, and food give options for just about everyone to find something they'll like.
Jen Bloom
I enjoyed walking around the market on Sunday morning (because, despite the name, it's also open all weekend). The local craftsmen had a lot of really great things that they were selling. If you have a free morning on the weekend, definitely stop by.
Amanda Falsetto
Fabulous fun. Got my Mexican corn fix. Never had anything like this before last year. I had to wait until Saturday Market opened up for the season, it was torturous.
Corn
Mayo
Cheese
Chilli powder
Hot sauce
Spenny
The Saturday market is a must if you're visiting Portland. An insane amount of venders and food stands all with the little bit of Portland weirdness are positioned partly under the bridge and partly in a beautiful section of old downtown buildings. If you can't find something fun to buy you aren't looking hard enough!
J P
Especially during the summer this is quite the happening everyone should check out once. People from all over the area setting up a booth to invite you in to see their wares. There is often live music of various kinds playing, street entertainment for donation, and food being offered for purchase at different stands.
HD
Good food great music.
Dean Beale
Very nice. Interesting vendors.Good area for people watching.
Refreshing change from the Village Fest in Palm Springs.
Suchitra Tripathi
Must go place if you are visiting Portland. And for locals, it’s great place to eat some food from those trucks, shop fresh flowers and art stuff. After that a nice walk near the river. Live this market!
Karla Santarromana
Here you can find many different artist that showcase what they do. There are some amazing things to see. Music and dancers are present at the market also. Food is really good
Renats Stozkovs
A must-see attraction for any tourist. Artists of all kinds gather to sell their crafts. Some products are better than others, but you can always find something unique and beautiful.
Olivia Luchion
The best open air market this side of the Rockies. Almost as good as Camden Locks street side market, that's in England. I've been there too, I should know. Oh yeah, have some food while you are there, it's also delicious, and nutritious. Yummy, and sometimes there is even a local band playing. Check the weather forecast, though from your house first. There's no use coming down without an umbrella when it's raining. :)
Abhiik Bottorff
It's an amazing collection of local artisans who make a variety of art, housewares, jewelry, accessories, food, and more. You never know what you will find, and when you buy you are directly supporting a local maker.
Isaiha Alonzo
Excellent place to find amazing authentic home made arts and crafts as well as cheap good food. There are a bit of homeless around but there is good security there so it isn't as scary as it seems.
Jill Davison
So many choices! Great vendors!
Melinda Gross
What a great way to spend a weekend afternoon. I love checking out the creativity that exists in Portland, and it's a different adventure every time I go. I am not a huge fan of crowds, but this market is always a fun time.
Maurice LaTier
The market is great. Lots of cool artisanal stuff. Wide variety of foods. Live music. A view of the river. Downside? There's only pay parking for blocks.
John C
Keeps growing and moving. Currently on the covered space on the waterfront. Plenty to buy, eat, and look at. Cool off in the neighboring fountain where you can sit nearby and rest while you eat.
Haven Chu
The first time you go it's pretty great. You see a lot of interesting products from vendor to vendor. The food stands are serviceable. After the next few times it gets quite dull considering the same vendors are there.
Keith Odom
This is a fun place to go and check out a wide variety of goods from all around Portland. While "Weekend Market" may be a better name for the event, you can go on Sunday, too. You're sure to find something unique there. It is Portland, after all.
Mark A. Sutton
One of the best attractions in Portland. This is a must for anyone from out of town. There are so many different kinds of vendors there. It's a fun place to take a date. See ya Saturday.
Ron Sheldon
Parking is a challenge. The Max train Skidmore Fountain stop is at the market. Big group of craft and art vendors. Variety of food and nearby restaurants. Restroom available. Flat no stairs. Mostly undercover. Riverfront walk also nearby.
Lori Judd
More fun than should be legally allowed.
Art, food, drinks, fruit snacks, more art, hand made stuff and things, clothing, babies, kids, young people, older people, and weird people.
And the occasional dog.
Go outside and enjoy yourself!
Melanie Sullivan
they had a great selection of vendors. I would just recommend you get there early cuz the later the day went on, the more crowded it got.
Tessa Zen
Fun place to go to look at art, crafts, and cute little things. They do not have produce here but there are plenty of food trucks and cool things to see. A must go.
Todd Barker
Great food selections, interesting items for sale in many of the stands, friendly atmosphere. I would give five stars if it was cleaner and not surrounded by druggies.
Jessica Fasano
Great vendors & delicious food. Great for first time Portland visitors. Be careful & aware because there are large crowds and a lot of homeless people around.
Mark Burris
We have a good Saturday market here in Portland. Plenty of variety. Like most markets its not all nice, there is a decent amount of junk, but there are lots of interesting things and unique ideas. The market is situated in a good area reaching from downtown to the waterfront.
Mary Schroeder
OK. Nothing special. We were visiting from out-of-state and so wanted to check out this popular weekend destination. It's just a big craft fair/swap meet that's very crowded.
John D
Fun to watch all the Portland junkies, vagrants sleeping in their own filth, doing drugs on the streets 👍 …
Água Clara
Fun touristic attraction. Loud and bright with local sellers a la Portland style. Nice on a cloudy day if you are up to a buzz!
Marco V. Lopez-Hutchinson
Such a nice place to shop and get cool trinkets, food, and clothing from locals. Being right next to the river is great for those that want to grab some food from the food stands and eat with a view.
Stephanie Johanesen
Really great thing to do on the weekend. Tons of local artists and craftspeople with beautiful wares. Great food carts too.
Ryan Panzarella
Great local musicians, wide variety of food, and unique vendors selling everything from Kalimbas to 'portraits of you'. Highly recommend the Portland Saturday market for an enjoyable weekend activity.
James Kennedy
Interesting things to look at and buy. It's a great place to go if you are visiting Portland. Everyone should go down there once. Ive lived in Portland for years, so I periodically will go down there.
Andrey Tyshchenko
Even though we were just visiting town, it seems like there are 2 parts of the market: food and stuff. Both are diverse and have a lot to offer. Take a stroll and you might find some really nice and unique souvenirs.
Peter L
A really fun place to visit, I most "window" shop. Make sure to bring water and keep a close eye on valuables, you never know what could happen, but everyone is really cool.
southern romeo
Good place to go for food and looking at things that people made or are selling but the beware that there are people out on the streets that are homeless that will beg for money don't fall for that trick and be very careful because Portland people could be very dangerous that are out on the streets so make sure that you're carrying mace or something to defend yourself with but other than that most of the people that are selling stuff are very nice it's just the people that are out on the streets you want to be very careful
Amy McGraner
This is really fun, and there's something for everyone. Check out the lady who makes framed jewelry trees! I have one at home, and it reminds me of everything great about Portland and the Market.
Christian Garver (Malicoins)
Saturday market always has a soft spot for me. Crazy people helping Keep Portland Weird. Lots of great shops. And food vendors that are to die for all in one place. Definitely worth a visit
Michael N
Smells like pee and there are a lot of bums, but don't let that discourage you because the craft side of the market is amazing with many soapy vendors and plenty of local snacks and food carts. Shout out to the guy who sells carnivorous plants.
Nivia Diaz
Had fun shopping here . So much beautiful art, food and lots of things for everyone here.
Kate West-Douglas
I used to love this place. It's still worth a visit if you've never been. But there is a lot of transient and crime and filth everywhere, so makes it a more difficult excursion.
Joshua Vuong
Came here for the Pride Parade with some friends. This place was full of food trucks, beer vendors, local vendors, and so much more. It was poppin because of the pride parade so I'm not sure how it is on any other day.
Gregory Sun
Summer is here! The Portland Saturday Market is one of the city's precious gems. The creativity that covers the street is streaming with artist waiting for there big break. Easy recommendation to go on a weekend and get lost in the music and talk to vendor because they always will provide you with a unique story to tell.
David Stanford
A lively weekend Market with lots of food vendors and all other manner of handicrafts and unique creations. I also have a lovely seating area to eat and listen to live music.
Kristy Bishop
Hands down BEST of portlandia on a Saturday. From knit hats to Cello music that will make you weep...its there. Food carts...beer...soaps...EVERYTHING. Live music.. Beautiful water front..you arent living until you've been there!
Chris Sanders
Always a blast visiting the Saturday Market. I moved here outa state and heard about this and gave it a shot. Now I can’t help but to always go when it’s open. I love this place from the designs and art to the food. Wish I could give it a 10 star review.
Rose Flores
Nice to walk around and see sights . Music and great one of a kind gifts to shop for. Go early though food tents run out of certain foods fast.
Maria Bermudez
So many things to see. The people are incredibly nice. Absolutely enjoyed it except for some homeless people attempting to pick pocket or grab your backpack.
Craig Reichel
Large market, very busy, spread over several blocks. A large variety of stalls and a little food court area. Lots of amazing artists. It is also right next to the riverside bike/pedestrian path.
Cody Simonsen
What a great experience! We had an 8 hour layover in Portland and went out to experience the city- this is something we stumbled upon and are grateful we did! Great artisans and workmanship!
Nola Darling
I love spending a Saturday walking around this incredible market. So many great vendors, beautiful scenery, and a great crowd.
Erik Schram
I was not impressed. I wish I was.. there were a few interesting booths but for the most part, it's just overpriced bs that you can find elsewhere for 1/3 the price. Also the crowd of people in such a tight space made for a miserable time getting through everything.
Netra McCarver
This is a great place to see people gifts in their art work. Great place to eat and meet new people. They even have a band playing for your enjoyment 💜👍🏾 …
Nate M
Its a cool place to wander around. Lots of nicnacs if thats your thing. Usually a street performer or two. Lots of good beer near by
Nick Toda (TodallyRad)
This is a unique Portland experience that is right downtown near the waterfront on the west side. It happens every Saturday during the year except for in the winter. Given it's location it kind of feel touristy but after a bit of time there, you get a sense that most of the people at the Saturday Market actually live in the area.
Vena Norton
Some nice artists have booths there and some good food, but the homeless have over run the area surrounding it. Kinda ruins the atmosphere - smelling urine...or worse...
Danielo Work
A lot to see, do, eat, and buy.
Right along the waterway which made a great backdrop.
David Bankalachi
Music and shopping of all kinds with an emphasis on hand made locally sourced goods of better than average quality. they have the best of the best and every kind of food imaginable. from hotlinks to indian tacos. yum.
Al Ram
Had a good walking and shopping experience during our visit here. Did think it would be larger but enjoyed our time here.
Craig Swoverland
Always a great place to spend a Sunday morning. Looks to of talented vendors. Friendly people and a great place for a waterfront stroll. Most vendors work year round and have locations to shop when in the off season.
Spencer Hinkemeyer
Always a great choice to visit the market. Even if you don't buy anything, just participating in Portland's unique culture is a great experience. Foodies will enjoy as well!
Adam Lindsay
I love this place! Lots to look at and many different places selling local goods and products. Very tourist spot and fun to be at by the water!
Willow Greentree
A beautiful, diverse, and fascinating way to spend an afternoon. There's local art, food, and music. All reasonably priced and unique. With the stunning river as a backdrop for it all.
Michael Rappaport
A lot of fun with some amazing crafts. Right on the water at a park near the downtown area. No parking problems and you can bring your kids and dogs.
