You get what you pay for. Could've gone cheaper, but Rays plumbing services was excellent. The techs Rob and Denis were very efficient and knowledgeable. They showed up on time and new exactly what needed to be done. Customer communication was on point. I would recommend Ray the Plumber and would definitely use them again.

Called Ray the Plumber with a leak when I used the shower. I had called a different plumber who took my money and did not make the repair correctly. They responded the next day. Connor was very professional and clean! I had more issues than just the leak in the shower when I used it. He took videos and explained everything to me before and after the work was done. Very pleasant experience with Tim. We had a leak in the hot water main which he repaired promptly. Also remedied bad plumbing job done previously at washing machine slop sink. The water heater pilot wouldn’t light. So no hot water. The water heater was 12 years old so not worth repairing. They were able to replace it the same day. They put shoe covers and out canvas down so they wouldn’t damage the floors. Super professional.

It was after hours when we discovered our furnace was not working. Even though we had never used Ray The Plumber we figured we'd give them a call since they had great online reviews. I left a message and was surprised at how quickly they returned my call. The technician arrived earlier than the service window provided and was able to quickly repair the problem. They even had a mat laid in on our porch so they wouldn't track any dirt. They completely exceeded our expectations!

I have used Ray the Plumber's services many times. The first time was a slab leak under my oil burner. The job was significant since the oil burner had to be removed to access the leak. Ray himself came to the job site and supervised the installation of my new boiler. Their technicians are professional, friendly and they never leave a mess. Connor is a credit to the company. Hello Everyone, Two days ago I discovered a leak coming from my "terlet", er sorry, "toilet". I found it the easy way by stepping into the water. Prior to my foot contacting the water that area was bone dry for a decade or so. They didn't have an appointment that day but had one the next afternoon. Lucky me, I received a call that asked me if it was alright to come to the house earlier. I said that I was available so they could send someone as soon as possible. It turned out that Alex and Jeff were dispatched. They had a longer than average drive but I said that I was happy with the estimated travel time. They were a bit quicker than the estimated arrival time.They surveyed the problem and then discussed all of the available options. I choose to replace all parts that needed to be replaced. Alex and Jeff were professional, courteous and left the work area as clean as clean could be. Many years ago they fixed a leak from the upper floor bathroom to the downstairs shower. That repair made me a fan of "Ray the Plumber"! If you require anything regarding plumbing I feel that you should consider using "Ray the Plumber".

Just moved to West Islip from the West coast. My wife and I noticed our water heater was quite old appearing and it had some heavy sediment despite being flushed a few times by myself. I subsequently called Ray the Plumber and set up an appointment as I am not familiar enough with water heaters to do much beyond a basic drain and flush, and our setup looked heavily dated. Michael came here on time as scheduled and did an inspection and gave me an estimate for recommended services. Turns out our water heater was from 1989. He was able to set up a new water heater with a tank expander and change out our old gas valves which were quite heavily corroded. He also figured out our house’s main water valve doesn’t fully shut off the water to the house anymore and recommended we call SCWA to repair it incase the house should require the water to be turned off. He was very helpful, polite, and and the total service time from start to finish was just few hours. I would use their service again.

Excellent Service from the initial phone call to set up the service call, to the technician (Michael) notifying us in advance of his arrival eta. The service was preformed on a weekend making it very convenient for someone to be home. Michael was very thorough in diagnosing our radiant heating system and repairing the issues. A pipe sprang a leak on a Sunday, and we had to turn off our water supply to avoid a flooded basement. We contacted a couple of plumbers who were recommended but because it was a Sunday, all we could do was leave a message and hope for a prompt response. We found Ray The Plumber online and were impressed with the reviews. Noting that they were "open" on Sunday, we called, left a message, and were relieved to receive a return call within five minutes from a very helpful and friendly woman who squeezed us in for an appointment after 3:00 the following day. We were surprised to receive a text and call before noon, letting us know that Rob was on his way, earlier than scheduled. Rob was polite, efficient, and quoted us a very fair price for the work. A second repairman showed up shortly after to assist Rob, and the job was completed in less than an hour. We were so thankful to have the repair done so quickly, and have running water once again, even before we expected help to arrive. We still have not heard back from other plumbers we called yesterday. Thank heaven for Ray The Plumber. They helped us out quickly, when we most needed them! Our technician, Brandon, arrived during the time promised. He spent a great deal of time locating our damaged pipe in the basement. Since we had to shut down all the water in the house because of the damaged pipe, he was able to restore water to the rest of the house. He isolated the problem which was limited to our laundry area and did a temporary fix until another technician could return to correct the problem in that area permanently. I have used Ray the Plumber on at least three occasions over the years, and I have found them to be extremely knowledgeable and reliable: they respond quickly and are on time or early. My most recent service, performed by Miguel, was no exception. He immediately identified the cause of the leak and was able to fix it properly, on the spot, with the right parts. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable and courteous, he worked very quickly and carefully, with not a trace of dirt or disturbance to my home. Every experience I have had with Ray the Plumber has been similarly positive. They are perhaps a bit more expensive than average, but they are well worth it.

Long Island Relic Recoveries

To start with, I was very happy when I called and got to speak to a real, live, person. They were very quick in setting up my appointment for the next day, and I was so pleased to find that before they arrived I received a text letting me know who my tech would be, and what time he would arrive! He informed us that the leak under the kitchen sink was repairable but that our best option was installation of a new sink. I called three companies over a week's time because I had to wait for appointments. I called Ray the Plumber the day before and they gave me a 3 hour window of time for the next day. They were Very professional on the phone and explained fully what to expect. Connor showed up on time on the scheduled day and I told him the plumbing projects I needed done. He looked, gave me a quote, and told me they could all be done in one day. The quote was in line with the other two companies but I have to admit that I am partial to the rug they roll out prior to service. I agreed to the quote and Connor got to work. It was a 4.5 hour job and Connor was very professional. Halfway through the job Dennis arrived and the job was completed in the time Connor told me it would be. I had to have lines changed, faucets attached a dishwasher hooked up, etc... All these projects had issues going in and I feel very confident in recommending Ray the Plumber. The plumbing works great, the issues were addressed, and the entire team is excellent to work with. I have an older home with many issues but they made the renovations easier.

2. Victor was our repair technician that fixed a clogged drain on 9/08/2021. He was prompt. He was thorough in explaining how he was going to address a severely clogged bathroom sink drain. He worked hard to snake out the clog and ultimately replaced an 8 yr old PTrap with a style more conducive to future repair if necessary. The price was fair considering the time he spent completing the repair. I would highly recommend using him again. He is the 2nd Ray the Plumber technician who has done work in our co op. No wonder Ray the Plumber business is so successful and it has become our go to service for plumbing repair beyond my expertise. Job well done again 1.Anthony was the Senior Technician who repaired our toilet tank. He was thorough in explaining what he would be replacing and what the charges would be. He even put in a better water supply line than the one that was in place. He was done in approximately 1 hour, which included having to have 1 particular part dropped off he just didn't happen to have. He explained that his supply was exhausted for having to use this part on a higher than normal number of instances on his service calls this week I would highly recommend Ray the Plumber for your plumbing needs. This was the 2nd outstanding instance of customer service as we used them last year for a different bathroom plumbing issue. And I also agree they are not cheap by any means. However, like the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Getting next day appointments is not very common, but they hooked me up right away, awesome. I have lived in Long Island for 6 years and never experienced a level of professionalism like this before, with any contractor or any service provider. I frankly feel like I’m cheating them by giving them a five star review, because they deserve a 10 star review. For starters, they actually answer their phone. Next, they set appointments. They also return messages. They confirm appointments after setting them. They reconfirm the day of. They sent me a photo and bio of the plumber coming to my home. The plumber shows up in a neat uniform with logo. They have a welcome mat with logo so as not to traipse anything into my home. The plumber puts on full protective gear covering his shoes face and hands. I was given an accurate estimate on what it would cost to fix my problem. There was no up selling. The problem was fixed at the price promised. Did the plumber call two hours after the appointment time to say that he was running late and that there was traffic on the Long Island Expressway? No, he did not. Unlike 100 other service providers I’ve dealt with in the last six years, these people make an appointment and then Stick to it. Unbelievable! The only thing I hate about Ray the plumber is that they don’t also do pools and lawns and contracting another home repair services. If you enjoy the traditional game of calling Long Island contractors 10 times to get a callback, and then rescheduling 10 times, and then Wasting several days of your time waiting for them to show up, then you should definitely not hire Ray the plumber.

I was met by the technician Richie. He took his time and explained everything he was gonna do and made sure that I understood. Joey was fantastic. He replaced my leaky valve, and fixed my toilet in less than 90 minutes, but that’s not the reason for the lower rating. They charged me $370 to sweat one exposed toilet valve. And another $210 to replace a toilet shut off valve and connector pipe that took minutes to install and parts that I that I had to buy for the 1 year warranty. I actually bought everything needed at Home Depot for $29 and now I have to return them.

The rep on the phone though warned me about it. I accepted it thinking the job wasn't going to cost as much as it would. ...only my opinion

Brandon came on time (8:30 am) to fix a running faucet-turned out that not only did we need to replace the faucet but had to install a new main water shut off value. The night before he came our toliet started leaking at the base and needed to be resealed. Brandon also repaired our tub that we had been neglecting. All in all-Brandon was called for one issue that turned into 4 jobs. He worked on all issues and didn’t stop for lunch finishing all jobs after 2:30 pm. My toilet tank cracked down the side and was leaking. Mike was excellent. He showed up within about 10 minutes of my call. Had the old toilet out and the new one in very fast. Only thing I didn't like was the price but I know Mike doesn't set the prices. Great service and great technician

Used Ray The Plumber for a gas leak in the hose behind the stove. They were prompt and courteous and the technician was very neat. They replaced the flex hose and the valve but I would suggest that they come to the house with a gas meter to detect any gas before and after the job to confirm the work they did was complete. I found the work to be expensive but under the circumstances- dealing with a potential gas leak - we didn’t shop around. The company called us when the worker was 15 minutes out which was very helpful.

Mike M was efficient in explaining the details and what needed to be done. Though the cost was much higher than we expected, he was patient in getting us cost for different scenarios. They brought plenty of drop cloths and was very careful with the surroundings while working in the kitchen. They even wore slip covers over their shoes and brought their own door mat to ensure as little as possible was tracked into the house. The job was neat and clean and very well organized. The 4 star rating does not reflect Mike's work which was excellent. The drop of one star is because in the world of free estimates, Ray the Plumber charges quite a bit for estimates. Though I realize the argument can be made the charge is for expert opinions and time to acess the problem and travel costs. However, this strategy makes the caller feel more inclined not to get estimates because, no one wants to pay a high price for an estimate then go somewhere else. The estimate tacks on total additional costs out of pocket to the client if they decide to go elsewhere. That price gap has just closed in quite a bit, and could be the difference between choosing a competitor or using Ray the Plumber. In many smaller scenarios the client stands more to lose. There is nothing wrong with Ray the Plumbers services, just the mandatory estimate costs.

We had a loud hissing noise coming from inside the toilet tank and it was apparent that something was going on. I called Ray the Plumber and they scheduled me an appointment the same day (awesome). I was given a 3 hour window for the tech to arrive. Rob R. arrived as scheduled and based on what I told him was happening, he suggested a rebuild in the tank. So that’s what he did. He basically replaced the inside parts of the tank. So far so good. My only issue was it was a little pricey. Other than that, I would highly recommend Ray the Plumber and Rob. Thanks guys!

I called Ray the Plumber this morning when I saw a leak coming from our dining room ceiling. When I spoke to the woman in the office she first told us to shut the main water to the house and she would have a technician there within a few hours. Two hours after I had called, the office called me back and said a technician would be there within a half hour. Our technician, Mike M, was wonderful. He was extremely knowledgeable and checked all the bathrooms on the second floor. He quickly determined the problem was coming from the upstairs shower in the master bedroom. Once that problem was resolved, he pointed out potential problems in valves near our water shutoff that we could have repaired before it does become an emergency. I would highly recommend Ray the Plumber, as well as their technician Mike M, if you have any plumbing problems in the future.

I would give Anthony a 5 star rating, the reason for me only giving 3 stars is the fact that the pricing for the job, which Anthony has nothing to do with, is very high, more than expected. If ray the plumber would bring their prices back to what the going rate us, they would have better reviews. Great company, but paying double isn't fair. Plumbing expert Mr. Anthony McDuffee came to my home and installed a entire house water filter system. The installation required an entire day, It required his designing and rerouting the incoming water lines. Having worked as a plumber's helper for a period in my early life, I can say with no reservation that his work was absolutely magnificent. At the end to the day, he had simplified the pipe lines and installed cutoff valves in a places that allow me to replace filters without any interruption of water service. I had a leak under the kitchen sink There was a large hole in the drain pipe. I called the plumber that originally replaced the drain pipe a couple of years ago. They would not come past 2:00 pm. I was at work at won't be able to get home till 3:00. They said " no ". I called Ray the Plumber. They person that answered was so kind. She told me not to worry someone would be there by 4:00 pm. Anthony was the plumber that came. He was excellent. It turns out pipe that was put in by the " other plumber" was garbage. Anthony replaced it with a very sturdy pipe. I had a leak coming from the ceiling and they gave me a window between 11-2 that someone would be there. Anthony showed up and fixed a burst pipe quite efficiently. We found another burst a few feet away which also got repaired. He was upfront about the costs and made sure he got our consent to continue when the 2nd pipe was found since you pay for each additional fixing. He also explained what caused the pipes to burst in the first place and to have our oil company come to fix the boiler. We found another leak late that night which must have occurred after the oil company fixed out boiler. In the morning I called Ray the Plumber again and requested that Anthony come back for another repair in a different bedroom and he came within the same 11-2 window and got everything taken care of. I was very happy with the work that was done, and have already recommended the company with family members. Although it's an expensive problem to have and I hope we don't need them again, I was glad they were quick and professional and Anthony was great.

On the day of the appointment, I received a phone call from the office, stating that the technician Ed S. would be at our home at 9:00. True to form, Ed appeared at 8:50 and immediately laid down a blue carpet to the doorway of our home, so as not to track any dirt into our home. Had a major water problem in my bathroom, called RTP, they transferred me to Zoom Drain and they dispatched a repairman immediately along with another repairman from RTP, Anthony was lead plumber, ray was drain guy, both worked together, analyzed the problem, came up with a workable solution. So over the course of two days our old bathroom toilet was removed, new drains installed, massive tree roots removed from old drains, hooked up and flushed toilet, dammit, the cesspool is now overflowing, Anthony quickly recommends a cesspool drainage company, I call them they are at my house in 35 minutes, drain it and its all good!! This is my second encounter with Ray/Zoom and both times they were professional, courteous and efficient. Prices are slightly higher than others but the service and professionalism is worth it!!! Not only is Anthony a Master Plumber but also a Master communicator . He put my Wife at ease that this was commonplace. They put a lage mat outside the door as to not trek anything into the house and likewise had drop clothes in the bathroom. All in all the replacement went just shy of 4 hrs and the crew cleaned up great. I believe the price was fair too. After a bathroom renovation, the sinks and toilet fixture in the bathroom began to drain very slowly. I called Ray the Plumber to have a technician check out the situation, and they arranged to have one dispatched. The office also notified me when the technician, was about to arrive here. Neil was extremely professional and polite, and assessed the situation accurately. He then protected my wood, ceramic and carpets with drop cloths before proceeding. Apparently some of the renovation debris, such as tile grout, had gotten into the main drainpipe and hardened there while I was out of town. He investigated alternative means of clearing the rock-like material, such as accessing the pipe through the back of the wall or from the roof, but finally had to remove the Toto toilet completely and run a very long "snake" something like 125' under the flooring. He worked very professionally, explaining what and why he was doing various things, and left the area impeccably clean. I would recommend this company without reservation and hope that they realize what a competent, knowledgeable, and polite individual they have in this technician.
