Technician provided detailed explanation of solution. Technician acted professionally and treated my home with respect while on site for service. Pricing and payment options were clearly discussed prior to any work being performed. I would absolutely recommend this company for your emergency needs

Within 2 hours of calling to set up an appointment I had two professional and personable workers out to my house and had the problem fixed within an hour! They even threw in a $25 coupon just to help. The price was less than I expected and my weekend stress was gone before the weekend truly began. Had a clogged drain on a Sunday night of a holiday weekend. Roto Rooter was able to send a technician out early Monday morning. Jason was very professional and kind. He helped move items that were blocking his work area and did not try to overcharge me by suggesting services that I did not need. It's an absolute pleasure to leave a great review for Jason from Roto-Rooter. I called this morning and he came out promptly today to diagnose a water leak and drain back-up in my basement, which happened only a week after moving into my new home. He was professional and courteous. He cared not only about the job, but also took extra steps to make sure my floors stayed clean during his entire time in my home and arguably left my bathroom floor in a better condition than it was when he arrived. He thoroughly educated me on the plumbing issues I had and didn't seem at all bothered by my many questions. I felt he was truly honest and totally trustworthy. The total price I paid today was very reasonable for the work he did. Although I hope I never do, if I ever have another plumbing issue, I wont hesitate to specifically request his help again.

They sent 2 workers very quickly and they were very nice and friendly. They took less than 20 min to check and replace a sump pump/check valve. This company charged me $625. A worker mentioned the value of new Zoeller sum pump is $300, (the check valve might be around $15 and tax for the parts. The parts will be under $350) Then the labor for 20 min will be $275. The receipt didn't have any information in detail. They solved the problem quickly, and I really appreciate your service. However regarding the charge, I hope Roto-Rooter can explain it here for the potential customers. After review: I got a call from the agent. She told me their price is fixed no matter what : the time consuming and there are a lot of things (ad, fuel, skilled workers so on) that set up the cost for replacement of the sum pump. She processed $20 discount that I requested yesterday also. Thank you for your call.

The professional noticed right away that an outdoor cap was missing. The pipe and missing cap were noticed at the driveway. He asked that I flush the upstairs toilet and another cap blew off of the sewer pipe downstairs. He cleaned the drain and installed a second cap. This was on the basement sewer pipe. Basement water has been a problem with this house since 2011. No one else identified the problem. He did. Thank you.

I've had Roto-Rooter out for three projects now, and the experience has been good but not great. They've been fairly quick to send someone out, which I've appreciated as plumbing issues always feel like a bit of an emergency (even when they're not). For this most recent visit, the tech was polite enough, worked quickly, and seemed to address the problem. However, they were coming out to fix an issue they had already addressed about one year ago, which didn't inspire much confidence in their work, and their pricing has gone up significantly in that time as well.

I was really impressed on how quickly someone was able to come by to give a quote and then do the installation. I had a new fridge delivered on Thursday and called Roto-Rooter that night to see if I could set up a service to have a water line set up for the fridge. Levi, the plumber, was able to come by Friday evening to give a free quote and he was able to do the installation on Saturday. The plumber was very professional and did a great job. The water pressure is extremely good in comparison to the saddle valve we had set up with the old fridge. The shut off he put in is also a lot quicker and better then the one that our saddle valve had. I definitely know who I'm calling the next time I need any form of plumbing done.

Very pleased with our experience with Roto-Rooter. We contacted them through the website to schedule a new toilet install and received a return phone call from the office within an hour. Tiffany in the office was very professional, efficient and answered all our questions. On the day of service, Tate arrived promptly and was very professional and friendly. He was knowledgable and gave us confidence that he knew what he was doing. The entire install took him less than an hour, and he left the room cleaner than it was before. He took away our old toilet to be disposed of, as well as all the packaging from the new toilet. Our kitchen sink wouldn't drain, and after trying everything we could, we called Roto-Rooter. They were able to send someone out the next day to look at our sink. The communication from their office was great, and they arrived at the beginning of the time frame, rather than at the end of the two hour window. They were able to work on the sink and get it draining. I do think their price for snaking the drain was high, but I was glad to get it taken care of ASAP.

I live on a very tree lined street and have had continual problems with water backing up due to clogged drains over the year. I had the water jet in May 2018 and was put on a list for followup to make sure the drains are staying open. I received a call for a followup on my drains--did I want to have someone come and check -- I said YES. The initial service was performed by a great tech who explained what was being done and showed me the pictures of the before and after. Casey was the tech on this visit and provided excellent service. He showed me what he was doing and what he suggested needed to be completed. This is money well spent to keep water flowing . Great young man who serviced our needs; would recommend him to my best friend or any friend. I understand profitability having owned 3 businesses in my past working days but I thought $185.00 reduced to $165.00 having a reduction for a coupon was quite a bit too much. And looking to file this, I found where Senior Citizens get a $35.00 reduction and trust me we are senior citizens. The young man took approximately 5 minutes to resolve our issue because I nor my wife could do the work nor did we have the equipment. Again as I said earlier I'm totally in agreement that a company like yours has to be profitable, but there were other factors at work here that made this less than an enjoyable experience.

Last week we had water leaking through the basement ceiling so I called Roto-Rooter because of the positive reviews. Even before Matt-the plumber-was scheduled to come Leo-the supervisor-stopped by to assess the situation and came back again later to see how much needed to be done to dry things out. Matt came earlier than I expected and quickly figured out the problem and quoted a price. It took much longer than he expected because the very old pipes wouldn't come apart, they had to be cut out. I was very pleased that even with the extra effort it took the whole thing was done in 2 1/2 hours. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no extra charge for the extra time it took. Both Matt and Leo were very professional and polite. And I appreciate that they were friendly and gentle with my very pregnant dog. I would have written this review sooner but we've been very busy with 9 newborn puppies in the house ! I will absolutely recommend Roto-Rooter and I will certainly call them again if I have a need for plumbing services.

My single handle shower faucet was coming away from the tile wall and I knew I needed to get this taken care of. Chris came out first thing Monday morning and gave me an estimate and told me what the best way to take care of the problem would be. He came back the next morning with everything needed for the job. He was on time and he took less time to finish than he had quoted. I needed an access panel put in behind the shower wall and he told me an access door would run about $30 from Lowe's. He threw it in at no charge. He did an amazing job! I'm talking he soddered new copper fittings and he used fresh caulk as an extra sealant. He also made sure to bracket and screw in the new fixtures The new shower fixtures look great and are tightly sealed. They'll last at least 20 years. He even fixed my loose sink water faucet handle for free. He also noticed a sewage drain cap in my driveway that had sunk in and could have caused major issues in the future. He replaced it for free as well. He answered all my questions and concerns. I would normally be upset at spending money on a home repair item like this, but I actually feel really good about it. I definitely feel like Chris cared and he took care of all issues I needed. I would highly recommend him and Roto-Rooter to anyone if they want a job done right.

He scoped the line and discovered roots in the drain which he proceeded to remove. This took a bit over two hours. He explained everything to us when he finished including having me see the problem along the way on his TV monitor. Very educational. We've used Roto-Rooter before and have always had good results. I'd recommend the company highly and with a 6 month warranty against additional problems, It's a no-brainer.

Found myself with a huge problem, that being well you know,... stuff backing up in the basement. Got online and made an appointment for today 3/6/2013. George, the technician called prior to showing up at the door, arrived promptly on time and ready to tackle the problem. He sent the video camera down quickly finding the blockage 130 feet out into the front yard. He explained the tools he had, the limits of them and all options in detail that he had at his disposal of fixing the problem which allowed me to make the best choice of how I wanted him to proceed. With his suggestion for what to try, and within a few minutes time the blockage was well on its way to the treatment facility! George also took the time to reinspect the pipe and locating it out in the yard so that I knew where the blockage was located and he measured the depth. It was found to have a dip in the pipe which will with no doubt cause another blockage at some point in the future no thanks to the high efficiency toilets that haven't enough water volume to push things along. Knowing this he made suggestions as to what could be done to help prevent any further issues other than spending $10,000 in excavating to level out the dip that is likely nothing more than a result of 25 years of dirt settling. So in the end I highly recommend Roto-Rooter Plumbing and Drain services of grand Rapids, MI. for excellent service and thanks to George (the technician or plumber) for taking the time to explain in detail all available options available to solve the issue. These Guys were great. Very professional. Fast response. When you are having a sewer back up and it is coming out all over you basement, yuck! They came fast, were very thoughtful and kind. My wife and I were freaking out at the smell and mess. It was a Sunday of course and we were really worried about not being able to get help. They arrived and within a hour we were back in shape. They even sent a camera down the sewer line and we could see that the line after 50 years was in great shape. Best money I ever spent. May 2, 2013, a pipe in our backyard, just off the foundation, was broken and needed to be repaired. Originally, this was discovered after we had a sewer backup in our downstairs bathroom. Dennis, the plumber, correctly determined this broken pipe issue while he was thoroughly inspecting our entire plumbing system prior, after I had called about a sewer backup in our downstairs bathroom. He returned back to our address again to repair this broken pipe. The work required to repair this pipe, while labor intensive, was done quickly and neatly. I have much peace-of-mind, with Roto-Rooter and with Dennis. The cost was minimal, considering the problems, and I would highly recommend this company again. The first thing I really liked about Roto Rooter is that they offered late night appointments (without an extra charge before 9pm). An evening appointment prevented me from having to miss work to have our kitchen faucet replaced and the leak from under the kitchen sink fixed. Matt was on time and even a little early for our appointment. When he got to our home, we went to the basement to find the main water shut off and he noticed some issues with the way our water heater was installed and piping used that could cause a serious hazard. He did a great job installing the kitchen faucet even after running into some bumps with additional poorly installed hookups under the sink. Matt was also pleasant to speak with and willing to explain anything we didn't understand. It was an added plus that he wasn't bothered by our overly friendly cat that insisted on being under the sink with him at several points while he was working. The team from Roto Rooter exceeded our expectations big time. We had what we thought was a small clog issue in our upstairs bathroom. After trying to fix it ourselves we thought it would be best to just let a professional handle it and be done with it. Boy are we glad we made that call. Turns out our main drain line going to the sewer had been taken over by tree roots outside and they had to dig up the main line in our yard and replace an entire section. The crazy part is that even though they discovered this after they gave us the initial quote to unclog the drain, they didn't charge us any more than their original quote. I started my New Year off with a flooded basement... which is not awesome. What is awesome is how great of service I got from Josh, Rob, and Kevin! Of course the problem occurred late at night during the holidays so I was panicking at the thought of having to wait until Monday to get help. Rob showed up first thing the following day to walk me through the what is wrong, make sure I understood, and let me see it with my own eyes via his pipe camera thing. Once again, the next day Josh and a co-worker showed, got to work, let me visit and see the damaged pipe once it was out, put everything back together, cleaned up the mess, and left me with plumbing that no longer flooded my basement. As much as flooding your house is a bummer, the guys at the Grand Rapids Roto-Rooter did great job and made the entire process as pleasant as possible. Great people!

I recently had my main sewer pipe clogged and water was backing up through the basement floor drain, I tried cabling it with a 100 foot rental snake from Home Depot and got a majority of roots removed and it seemed to fix it until 2 days later it backed up again. I worked with Roto Rooter for 2 days on my clogged/backed up sewer main, my residence is unique in that the sewer main was around 150 foot to the main city sewer. Jetting was first attempted by Roto Rooter because I recently used the 100 foot snake and some obstructions were removed with the jetting but others still remained and possible pipe breakage was in sight as dirt was backing up into the basement floor. The next day the owner of Roto Rooter inspected the sewer and we discussed our options, they used 200 feet of snake cable and they successfully removed all roots and or obstructions. Pricing was fair for the amount of work they invested into this extensive project . All staff members were honest up front and prepared me for the worst case scenario when the jetting to not initially fix the issue. Roto Rooter worked tirelessly to get the job done amidst doubt and fear that the roots or possible pipe breakage were preventing them from clearing the obstructions. In the end Roto Rooter did a great job by using a 1/2 blade, professional, hard working, I would definitely call them back for future service. I am looking at Roto Rooter possibly installing a fiber glass liner on the existing clay pipe to prevent repeat root issues.

About five years ago Roto-Rooter visited my Grand Rapids home. The plumber opened my kitchen drain. I had my pipe shield. Everything was GREAT. Then I was hospitalized for two month and recovery two more. The guys forgot or just did not put the pipe shield in the drain. So after four months I started to put the pipe shield into the drain, when I remembered. Then the drain needed Roro-Rooter again. My nephew said he could snake the drain, he did, it worked. But two months later I needed Roto-rooter. No money. So I used a tub for dish water and only a little water down the drain for five months. When finally, I had the money. Roto-Rooter came, Jason really worked, eighty minutes later I had my drain working again!!! Now every 5th of the month pipe shield and the drain have a date and all the guys know.
