Brian was on time, friendly and so helpful!! Great job and will always use Applewood for services! We had a new 240v outlet installed in our garage for a vintage power tool that needed a different type of socket than normal and he was great and quality work!

Our water heater went out suddenly making a mess. We called Applewood Plumbing and they had someone in route within an hour. The technician Brian N. came out and explained everything to us and gave us the available options. It was too late in the day to replace the hot water heater, but he was back out by 8:30 the next morning and removed the old heater and installed the new one in just 2.5 hours. The new heater now has a tray underneath it that drains to the floor drain and a water alarm installed in the tray to warn if there is a leak. Brian was very courteous, professional and knowledgeable and did the job quickly and efficiently. Overall an excellent experience with Applewood Plumbing and with Brian. I would be comfortable recommending them to anyone I know.

Stephen came out to help diagnose and correct an issue with our air conditioner. He was very knowledgeable, professional and thorough. He explained a lot along the way, which was much appreciated. He also wore a mask and shoe covers in our home. The office staff and dispatchers are very friendly on the phone as well. Both times that I’ve used Applewood, I’ve been incredibly impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the technicians. The people setting the appointments on the phone seem to be humans who actually enjoy working with the public. I needed an emergency response and they kept their appointment on time within only a couple of hours of my call! Very impressive! I’ve heard they run on the expensive side… but I believe sometimes you get exactly what you pay for. No nonsense, fair & thorough explanations of the work needed, appropriate behavior in the home, fun attitude while working. Loved it. As much as a person could love a surprise plumbing bill.

In the past, I have had great service from Applewood employees, and I expected no less this today. However, today, Milo Sandoval superseded all expectations I had for my heater maintenance appointment. Milo was so pleasant and informative, offering suggestions on how to best maintain my heater (and plumbing) in between appointments. Additionally, he offered memberships for cost savings, and answered all my furnace-related questions related. Not only do I feel ready for winter but am also prepared to take care of that monster in the crawl space until its annual service next year. I called and spoke to a real and professional person who helped me get an appointment within the day. The time frame given was reasonable and I was called when the tech was on his way. Also received a text with tech info. The technician arrived on time and listened to me explain my issue with the furnace. He explained it was a common issue and he would do a thorough checkup. I joined the gold member club last summer when they came out to do repair on my AC. After he cleaned and ran tests he showed me what the results were and that my check up was part of my membership and there would be no fee. I appreciated all the excellent service and felt I was well informed and got good value for money I previously paid. I will definitely recommend their services to anyone! Well done Applewood!

I called Applewood for sewer line snake and drip leg install on gas water heater. Kyle came out and was on time, friendly and honest. He took the time to explained the scope of work, quoted me the prices. He was very knowledgeable and nice. I contracted with him to do the work. He got to it right away and had all the right tools and parts on his truck. He got the job done in a timely manner. He was courteous of putting booties on his shoes and machines before entering the house. I would highly recommend him for any plumbing work you need done on your house. We called for service and they had a next day appointment. Ty did a great job of quickly fixing a kitchen sink leak and then crawling under our crawl space 3x to fix our sump pump. He was a good sport. Very knowledgeable and very friendly. He expressed several times how much he loves working for Applewood. That was good to hear. He gave us a quote before he started working and even replaced a light bulb and vacuumed in our crawl space. Will use Ty and Applewood again.

I highly recommend Applewood. Our water heater was leaking and they came out same day and replaced. I have to admit I was shocked at the expense but after the job was done and I saw what was involved and what was included in their service, they definitely do everything possible for what they are charging. The next day unfortunately a pipe started leaking from air in the pipes but David came right back out and he replaced the whole pipe at no additional charge. David was super friendly, explained everything he was doing and why. Now I know why they charge higher price, because they do a first class job and stand by their work.

Been using Applewood for years. Frank (who is awesome and is very knowledgeable) determined my water heater needed to be replaced, and thank goodness it’s under warranty! My advice: buy the warranty that Applewood offers that’s above and beyond the warranty of the product. Because I did this 10yrs ago, it is saving me over $10k now, not to mentions some other repairs I’ve needed over the 10yrs also. The warranty has more than paid for itself. Best add on purchase ever!

Josh Cruz and his team were outstanding. They replaced our sewer line which had been backing up repeatedly, a big, complex and potentially very dangerous job, all in one day including passing two city inspections. Unlike a number of companies who worked on the problem previously, Applewood's combination of advanced technology and highly experienced workers allowed them to determine in advance exactly what the problems in the line were and propose two possible solutions. We were able to go with the less expensive one and achieve a very satisfactory result with a lifetime guarantee. Josh is a special individual, extremely knowledgeable, able to explain complicated issues clearly, extremely polite and present until everything was completed. Highly recommended!

I had called the business that did the original work on my furnace over the holiday weekend and wasn't even able to leave a message.that my furnace was out. I called a second company told me they would have someone out on Monday before noon after making 2 calls when I wasn't contacted finally found out they wouldn't be here until Wednesday. I called Applewood late afternoon on Monday and said they would have someone out on Tuesday between 11 and 1. I was a little skeptical because of the previous company. I received a call from their dispatch at 10:45am and Tyler was here by 11:20. I gave him the history of the unit and he got right to work analyzing the issue. Once analyzed and he knew the part was on his truck he fixed my furnace and everything is working great. I really appreciate that Applewood was able to respond quickly with a professional Technician. I would recommend them highly.

Have had several positive interactions with them. The main advantage is they come out fast.. But even someone who works there told us not to use them for big jobs that can wait. Received an estimate that was more than 4x the estimate we had received a year prior from another company..$19k + for a 4-5k job - we compared scopes and there was no significant damage that had occurred after the first scope. This particular worker was a bit shady, asking me if he could see the video of the old scope and after careful consideration, I feared like he was going to take advantage of my lack of experience interpreting such, so I told him I couldn't find it. I clearly told him I wanted to compare them w my wife but he suggested we weren't the professionals here and should defer to him. He also suggested that someone might put something down our sewer cap.. what? Maybe a neighborhood teen in the 80s but unless YOU are considering committing such an atrocious crime, who thinks that? What world do you live in where people worry about these things? It reminded me of my Subaru guy saying that he knew mechanics who would literally sabotage people's cars so they'd come back and pay more; I'm not suggesting he did this to me but it begs the broader question of company practice, no? Other technicians at Applewood have been better but the price wasn't - 7k for a Jackhammer job into our foundation to replace bathroom pipes/fix a sewage back up. Another time $260 to unclog a different backup. But at least they answer the phone and arrive reasonably close to stated time. I guess in 2022 the professional (and political) bars have been set so low that we just are who we are..

My technician, Milo, was able to thoroughly explain what had happened, why it occurred and the options that I would have to remedy the situation. Sometimes when you are a female dealing with repair personnel, you feel like they are trying to pull one over on you so that you pay for more than what you need. I was able to google the test results he was getting from the furnace and view the issues myself so I was completely confident what was happening with the furnace was the issue and would resolve the issue. I was really grateful that Milo was patient and answered all of my questions. I would recommend using Applewood for the quality of their technicians and customer service.

I was having issues with no hot water on a 2 yr old tank. Calling late in the afternoon I was able to get an appointment for the same evening. Not knowing what was the issue, I was informed that the service trucks are fully supplied and stocked so any repairs would be completed that evening. No waiting for parts. 👍 The technician that came out was Robert. He did an outstanding job of troubleshooting obviously starting with simple/minor issues. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and informative as he explained to me and my son. Later that evening when I received a call back from the office, I told them the same and without a doubt if needed again, Applewood will be my first call! Working for the same company, I’m sure all the technicians have the same customer service, but I would have to request Robert. 👍👍

Nathan was on time and got to the heart of the problem quickly and efficiently. I especially appreciated the clear instructions on how to light the fireplace. I’m the new home owner and the previous owner did not use the fireplace. I now have peace of mind about using the fireplace. The company was especially considerate in waving a fee when the plumber was not able to make the scheduled appointment. That’s great customer service!

From my first inquiry on Thumbtack, Kayla called and immediately provided me with useful information to have our routine furnace maintenance inspection scheduled. She was thorough with process and pricing, and as luck would have it, I could be scheduled same day, just 2 hours after inquiring! I would have been thrilled with same week, but same day was just unreal. Kayla was kind and professional! Jacob Murphy came out to service our furnace, and WOW I am blown away. Had to pick a new company for our HVAC needs. I chose Applewood based on online reviews and other recommendations. I do not regret that decision. Christine was the tech that came out for our annual furnace inspection. She was punctual, informative, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. You could tell right away that she really knows her trade well, and that meant a great deal to me as a customer. Due to medical matters, I’m having to assume care of my parents’ house. There’s a lot to do, and working with people like Christine makes things much easier.

Furnace wouldn't work and a snow storm was approaching. Applewood technician was available at a convenient time. Communication from their end was stellar. Thankfully, the problem was easily remedied, but they also replaced the batteries in the thermostat, replaced the furnace filter, and cleaned the "insert technical word here" without even charging the $29 service fee! Hunter (the technician) was right on time, thorough, took pride in his work. Very professional and easy to understand. I generally prefer to work with family-run businesses, but you just can't beat this kind of customer service.

There are not enough words for me to describe how Applewood PH&E exceeded my expectations when they replaced the sewer pipe at my home. Everyone in the office and onsite for the repair were flexible and easy to work with. Master Plumber Josh Cruz explained what problems needed to be corrected in my sewer line and exactly what steps Applewood would take to address those issues. Josh alleviated all of my concerns about having my yard trenched in order for them to do the sewer line replacement. Josh & the Applewood crew were at my home at the exact day & time they said they would begin and were there from the beginning of the job until it was completely finished. Everyone in the Applewood crew was excellent to work with. They kept me advised every step of the way. They were thorough, professional, and respectful of me and my home. They left my front yard in better shape than it was before they began! Josh & the crew took additional steps to ensure that a buried gutter line was properly re-routed so as not to leak and potentially harm the new sewer pipe install, they installed a water stop and cleanouts, and made certain that my yard's sprinkler system was intact. I am incredibly humbled by the hard work and quality that Josh & the Applewood team provided to me during this sewer line project. Applewood PH&E will be my first call for any future plumbing or home service repair needs because they are honest, and you can trust that they will do the job right. Applewood will restore your faith that there are companies out there who value doing the right thing for their customers.

Applewood dispatched an electrician (Cody) within minutes of my call. Cody was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, took extra time to answer questions and learn about my concerns. He even took time to educate me about my system. Since Applewood charges by the project, not the hour, there was no sense of rush. Their electricians are not working on a commission, so there was no pressure to sell. Cody quickly fixed my immediate concern, and helped me troubleshoot two other issues. I will be calling (and requesting Cody) in the future for several future projects as I expand my system.

Jason Rademacher was incredibly professional, super honest, and very, very knowledgeable. He told me plainly and clearly exactly the work that needs to be done, the minimum amount that would need to be done, and the amount of work he recommends to make servicing the area easier in the future. I’m going to call back soon once the water damage is fixed to have Jason fix the issue permanently, but he told me exactly what I would need to do to temporarily fix the issue myself before he can come back and fix the issue for real. He also helped both replace a valve in my bathroom but also educate me about the causes, how to identify the issue myself in the future, and showed me what he did to replace the valve so I could do it myself. I have never had such transparency and honesty from someone coming to fix something at my house, and I will absolutely come back in the future.

We needed some work on our furnace and Christian Hall came out almost immediately. He quickly diagnosed the problem and even figured out that our humidifier was not wired correctly, so had probably never worked since its installation in 2018. He quickly fixed the wiring so everything will function correctly for winter. Great guy and I highly recommend!

Super pleased with the service we received from Applewood. Nate was informative and honest. We had a valve leak in our radiant floor system and had a pretty good idea what the issue was, but wanted a professional opinion. He confirmed that we could do the repair ourselves with the parts we had already purchased and avoid a costly bill if they were to complete the job. He also caught that our water pressure was too high (which we had confirmed in our purchase inspection a couple months back) and explained the risk/benefits without any sort of scare tactics. We decided to hire them to complete that work and will be returning to them for any future plumbing needs. The other plumber we contacted was trying to get us on the hook for $2,500 of work that wasn’t necessary I’m addition to the $1k+ cost of valve replacement and didn’t bother to check the pressure in our system.

This company is amazing and the technician is great! This is an honest company who will not take advantage of you. I called for a second opinion after one company quoted $2000, and Rachel fixed the problem for a few hundred. She has been to my house twice and even remembered us a year later. I have used the company three times and every experience was excellent.

The service was great and Dell was wonderful, but it was $7100 to have our water heater replaced (Jan of ‘23). Considering a water heater is about a grand from Home Depot, I would consider shopping around for quote before solidifying a company to replace your water heater. We had a water heater replaced in our last home in 2018, and it cost about a third of the price. Not sure what the discrepancy was because we didn’t get an itemized receipt, but not too happy about the price. Otherwise good experience.

Was having an issue with my furnace and Mat the technician was able to find a loose wire. once found he also completed a diagnostics to make sure that was the issue. Furnace is working fine now. Very happy with the service and Mat was really nice and easy to work with.

I like that they are fast and guarantee their work and they have been Good about coming back to fix warranty items that needed some additional work after install. They do seem to find more "problems" than other plumbing and heating companies so it makes me wonder if All the money spent with them has been necessary. Especially considering I had a contractor plumber who worked on my kitchen update and when I told him about some of the things Applewood said was necessary, he told me that it wasn't necessary at all and I had spent over $1,000 with them on those unnecessary things. So if they point something out that needs to be fixed and it's a high ticket item, definitely get a second opinion on whether or not it actually needs to be done before moving forward.

These guys have saved my bacon twice now, in a house I've recently purchased. Both incidents, involving valves and pipes in our home, were emergency issues that they were able to fix same day- at no additional charge. Always friendly, always professional, and honest about what they are doing, they are the real deal, and I never feel yanked around or upcharged. Though they are a bit expensive, I feel like it's worth it for their level of knowledge and professionalism. Customer for life.

Since it was just replacing the thermostat, I decided to do it myself since I was already remodeling and doing a bunch of electrical work. He didn’t even charge me for the drive out plus diagnosing the problem. I’ll definitely call them back soon for a complete furnace inspection this winter and for the eventual replacement.

The old addage “ you get what you pay for” still holds true for Applewood. Yes, they’ve never been the cheapest in town, but there is something to be said for being able to count on their consistent quality of workmanship and getting the job done without leaving a wake of disaster in their trail. Damien arrived on time on a Sunday and repaired a leaking faucet and a clogged shower wall-tile body spray. I supplied the parts in advance, so he performed the labor. The original installing plumber unfortunately left him with more challenges than he probably would have hoped for, but he took the job on with a positive attitude. Moreover, I was impressed with the care he took in handling the job just as if it were his own home. How refreshing it was to have someone who was conscientious, cared about the quality of his workmanship, didn’t make me feel like I was just another rush job to grab the money and run, and bonus……didn’t leave me with a mess to clean up. So, we've used Applewood Plumbing Heating & Electric for one of our rental units. The Pros are they schedule quickly, they were spot-on time the first time and the second time they had to reschedule numerous times due to running behind. That said--they let us know in advance they were running late and handled the matter as best they could. They do not provide written estimates and they do not break down their invoice parts & labor. To replace a Kohler Shower Cartridge / Temperature regulator (a part that is $50.00 - there was no written estimate at the time they are on site - they just quoted the job at $666.00. To be clear, they went out ONCE, called us w/ total price. We were traveling and just wanted it to be fixed so we moved forward with the work, only to find out that 2 other companies would have charged $89/hour + parts and $99/hour x 2 hours + the part respectively. (1/3 of the cost that Applewood PH&E charged. They called immediately after the job was complete asking if we were satisfied, it wasn't until 9 days later after calling twice that we were able to get an invoice. No transparency and 3X the cost of 2 other places. I would avoid Applewood in the future unless you like to pay too much.

Have used Applewood several times to fix plumbing leaks and diagnose HVAC problems. They're expensive, but their quoted prices include all contingencies, so there is no surprise at the end. They are also available 7 days a week. They are also very honest about whether they're the best option - in one case, they recommended we get our AC system serviced by a certified dealer since it was still under warranty and it saved us thousands.

Jovanni showed up same day to my home as he was called. When he arrived, he looked carefully at what was going on with my sump pump. He didn't just take my word for what was wrong, he ran tests on his own and explained additional circumstances of what was happening and what could happen. I was already in the mindset to hire him and get this pump repaired and to have the water leave my home, however, he wanted to make sure that he took the time to explain my options before I jumped to a conclusion. He detailed out information and because I had a rare piece for the cover of my sump pump hole, he immediately got on the phone and made calls. We had to special order the cover and I let him know what I wanted. He ordered what he could and went above and beyond to design a cover that was safe and that provided me with my request. He took his time and kept in communication with me along the way letting me know that the part was ordered and when the part had arrived. We set a time for him to come back and he arrived right on time. He gave me an estimate of departure time and he was done in the time frame. Every tech that has been to our home has been extremely courteous and even sympathetic and understanding when we've had to finance repairs we've been unable to afford - and to that point, they have fast and easy financing options available if you need it. Call it what you want - brand loyalty, good marketing, whatever - when I see one of those orange Applewood trucks driving around town, my first thought is "That's our plumber!" Had furnace problems that would not repeat when tech was her the first time. When it repeated for me and I was able to give him an error code, he came back out. Though the code had to do with exhaust, and he checked everything out. Hovever, whenever the upper cover was installed, it repeated the problem. He figured out that the problem as a clog in the INTAKE pipe. He had to cut and splice the pipe to clear the clog. Everything works now with all covers in place. I am over the moon happy with the outcome of the service I received from John at Applewood.

Old sewer pipes, 1927. Have been having them rotorooted for years. Old company was fading out so thought I'd try APHE. Got appointment the next day. Was so impressed with professionalism at all levels, explanations from Josh the technician with 10 years experience, and that for the first time I got to watch the video and see the roots and breaks in the old clay pipes, as well as for the first time seeing the exact location of the connection to the city line - which showed a little encroachment onto neighbor's yard. We discussed the clearly deteriorating pipe situation, and various actions. It's apparent there's a risk of the pipe collapsing and serious excavation for the whole 117 feet. Josh gave me no pressure, no timelines, just pointed out the situation (clearly visible) and presented alternatives and costs. It seemed pretty clear that something had to be done before disaster. It seemed the "bullet" pipe replacement with excavation only at each end would be best and necessary - but the unexpected expense set me back on my heels. I called over my neighbor who is an expert in old house fixup and she strongly said I needed to do the "bullet" replacement. So I made an appointment - in just one week! Josh is so personable, so knowledgeable, so understanding, so good at explaining, so willing to take time. I enjoyed the entire interaction with him. Update: Sewer line finished in one day by 4pm. Amazing crew – such professionalism and expertise, such smooth teamwork, so cheerful and friendly, so considerate. They explained everything they would do, and cleaned up very well afterward. Josh in particular makes the experience a positive one in spite of the shock of the expense.

I used to view Applewood as a 5 star company but I can no longer justify that. Let me start out by saying the technicians I’ve had out to my house have all been really great and when I did have them do work they were always friendly and did quality work. However, I have a hard time with their pricing after being quoted $24,000 for an A/C condenser and evaporator. I understand they only hire the the best techs and from what I can tell the company treats their employees well. I will pay more to support that in certain circumstances but I can’t say it’s worth it to pay 3 times more than comparable quotes, especially when the service is already going to cost thousands of dollars. I’m not saying don’t hire them, because they do great work and warranty it as well, but you should always get a second opinion before hiring them.

Applewood always does a great job of understanding the problem and figuring out the best solution to meet your needs. This happened to just be an estimate for the installation of an EV Charging station in my garage, but the thoroughness of the work in evaluating the situation and coming up with the best options to move forward was perfect. Thanks for the estimate, I'll be calling you guys when it comes time to do the installation.

Alright first of all I hate calling repair people. They are more than usually late and charge way too much. I got a recommendation to try out Applewood to repair my finicky condenser. We were told it's a 5-7 window for him to show up, he showed up right at 5! Friendliest guy in the world! Josh Stevenson sat there and listened to us drone on about the issues and attempted repairs we have tried in the past and all with a smile on his face! After finding the cause of the issue he offered up several options to get us going again and he knew the prices of it all! We went with a repair and he was more than willing to stay at our house until it was done! I can't speak for all of Applewood but Josh Stevenson is THE best possible representative they could have for their company! No more self repairs and YouTube these guys and gals will forever be my first call now!

I have had multiple technicians out from Applewood for different services at my home. Every time they are knowledgeable, prompt, professional, and genuinely seem to care about helping me get my issue corrected. I have an old home and things come up from time to time and I love knowing I can call them out to help me identify and solve the issue. I am a part of their membership program which gives me discounts on service and they will come out for free. Highly recommend!!! I have had Jake and Jon as electricians, both are geniuses, and Jason as a plumber and he was amazing too. So grateful this company exists.

I've had two great experiences with Applewood! The customer service is absolutely outstanding! They installed a new hot water heater and performed a furnace repair for me on another visit. I am willing to pay more for quality and great customer service -- they have both. They are definitely not the cheapest in town but you get what you pay for right??? Why would you cheap out on important appliances for your household?! Ben installed my hot water heater and Jeremy performed my furnace repairs.
