Called Mullen at 3:30 PM on a Friday and they showed up at about 6:30 PM that day. I had a complete backup affecting the whole house. They were able to easily diagnose my problem, gave me my options and up-front cost. They were done and gone by about 8 PM. Everyone from I I tracked with from the first phone call, to the onsite plumbers were very friendly and courteous. They even called me a few days later to make sure everything was OK which it was. That is great customer service. I can't explain how important that is to me. 5 stars all the way.

Call Tuesday morning asking them to look at issue, They were here by 9:00 am and problem repaired for No Charge. Outstanding Service and Professionalism. Mikey and Dakota came to install a new gas furnace today. They were punctual, polite, and worked fast. Overall, happy with their work, everything looks good and mikey came up with quick solutions to any problems that came up like patching holes in the ductwork. We did have some issues scheduling the install. We felt like we were getting juggled between people while trying to get an estimate confirmed and an appointment set, and waiting a long time for calls back all while having no heat.

Three weeks ago we experienced an AC malfunction. Of course, it had to be during the hottest days of the year! I contacted Mullen using their online help request and had a callback by 0830 that morning. The scheduler said someone would be by early in two days. On Friday, two techs showed up and diagnosed the problem. A part needed ordering. It would take a few days. Back and forth a couple of times, I was starting to lose heart when I got a call from Cody. He showed up, looked over the system and suggested an alternate plan. The man knew his business. In two hours he had it running, explained the HVAC system thoroughly and signed me up for the yearly service plan. It was the right thing to do as I was more familiar with hot water boilers than this system. Less than a week later, we were running as expected and secure in the knowledge that Mullen's Plumbing had people that knew how to work and fix the system. Thank you, Jerry

Jason and Tyler arrived early for the appointment (before 8 a.m.). They were courteous and professional. They worked in freezing weather for hours installing our heating unit. There was one vent that wasn't blowing property and they went back under the house after all those hours to make sure it worked. They wore booties over their shoes to make sure they didn't track any dirt in. I really appreciated that as I have new carpeting. Only complaint I have is that their office did not call us back after our first call to them. We had to call them back a second time.

Thank you "John O." (known to be one of their best HVAC techs). After EJ Thompson and Son "No show / No called me" TWICE and had me waiting 3 weeks, Mullens' John O. came out and diagnosed/fixed my heat pump same day. Even though I didn't buy the system from them he was still able to get warranty coverage for me on the parts that needed to be replaced, 100%! All I had to pay was labor and it was reasonable. It's so nice when someone actually does what they say they are going to do and are competent / professional. He didn't do anything without explaining everything to me thoroughly and giving me an estimate. Very good!

They came virtually immediately! With warmer weather, it’s a given that these A/C guys are extremely busy. I fully expected to wait several days before someone could come out and was totally shocked that Crystal gave me the option to have the guys come that evening on OT or the next morning!!! Rob was very nice and knowledgeable. He was very upfront about what he was doing and prices. He did a wonderful job diagnosing the issue. He gave us a temporary fix so he could find the leak. He also explained the different scenarios depending on where the unit was leaking. He returned exactly when he said he would, found the leak, fixed it, stayed to make sure it was fixed, showed me exactly what he fixed and explained it to me. He also showed me that the heat pump wasn’t working and instead of pushing me to get it fixed or making it as if the system wouldn’t work w/o it being fixed, he explained how I could bypass the heat pump to just use gas. He also was able to tell me how old the unit was and gave several tips to help extend the life a bit longer. Very pleased with everything from Crystal, who did the scheduling to Rob, the service tech. Would 1000% recommend!!

Update: I only recommend them for plumbing. Friday Nov. 11, they came out and found water had been in the main gas line. They charged me an $89 diagnostic fee for telling me to call mountaineer gas and have the line pumped. Remember, I had previously happily paid them $4,700 for a plumbing job. So $89 to tell me to call mountaineer gas was a little bit petty, but I paid it. Fast forward to today, Nov. 11. Mountaineer gas has come out and told me the water is in the house line, not the main line. So I needed to call mtg back. They tried to charge me another $89.00 diagnostic fee to tell me they can't touch the furnace. Their HVAC technician found no problem with the furnace. Multiple calls to their office for clarification, no answer and no response. Previous plumbing review: They came out about an ongoing plumbing problem I was having. I had already power augered 75 feet of the main line myself, and cleaned the vent pipe. My stepdad hand augered the mainline and a few inside drains. Plus we tried pouring liquid fire in the cleanout, which I don't recommend because it didn't solve anything and it's very difficult to deal with. You can't plunge or auger anything until it's sufficiently flushed out, which is extremely difficult with a main line stoppage. They came out and augered my line to about 150'. The blockage was still there, so they jetted it with a high pressure gas powered water jet. Their plumbers are very honest, knowledgeable, skilled, and efficient. They earnestly want to solve the problem with a long term solution and they want to do excellent work for you. The jetter cleared the line and they were able to put a camera down so we could see everything. They let me record the display with my phone which is so useful because I can refer back to it and I have the recording for future work that may need to be done. They also marked my line and the depths of the line at various locations for me. With the camera and locator we were able to find out that the problem was unfortunately on the city part of the line. Mullens could have made way more money and dragged out several service calls had they been dishonest, but they aren't. They really wanted to help find a long term solution to the problem and wanted to get the job done right on the first call. The workers are very clean, professional, and knowledgeable. The office staff is pleasant to talk to and they make sure to get you the help you need. There are multiple financing options available on their website for (G_d forbid,) larger jobs. I cannot praise them enough. When the city assessed my problem independently, Mullens also offered to send senior managers out to help me communicate with the city. They are top notch. I imagine they aren't the cheapest around, but the quality of work is well worth it.

My Water Supply Line went bad and I had to call for help. Thankfully, my call was to Mullen Plumbing. Crew Leader Brian and his associate Darrell were 100% Professional, they gave me 100% Customer Service and it appears that they did in fact, correct my problem 100%. Their work was done in a timely manner and they cleaned both work areas well. Plus, they were both just genuinely nice to me. I will undoubtedly recommend Mullen to anyone that needs help with a Plumbing problem. I have a feeling that they will handle Heating and Cooling issues the exact same way. Looking for a 2nd opinion for my HVAC after seeing their add with Haus Media. I was told originally told i needed a total replacement. The Mullens tech went over everything in great detail, explaining the costs and making sure i was okay with any repair. He did what was needed and advised me what I needed to do going forward. They saved me thousands and with the costs of two kids in college, we are very thankful for Mullens and their tech. Strongly recommend!!!

My AC stopped working. It went from 70 to 80 in my house real quick. Caleb came out & found the problem in about 30 seconds. He fixed it in about 5 minutes. He explained everything to me. From what was wrong, what he did, levels of the ac & warranty parts, etc. He was super polite & made sure it was working & the house was cooling down before he left. Also a couple months ago Eric from the plumbing side hooked up my hot water tank that I got from them. He did a great job & was also very fast, polite & explained everything to me. I really like that they explained everything to me instead of just saying “here’s the problem. I fixed it.” Like most companies do. Highly recommend Mullens for plumbing & heating & cooling.

I called Mullen Plumbing and Heating because I thought our air handler was leaking. What I learned was the stand pipe was leaking because the rubber surround had after being installed in 1980 finally rotted away. In addition, I had two toilets that were running continuously. Not only did the people who came out fix the toilets, and the Stand pipe. They also removed the apex of the roof installed screening and then put the apex back on the roof. The two men who did the work completed the work in two stages. They fixed the toilets first, then tackled the vent pipe and finally took care of the roof vent. The cost was very reasonable the work was done well and the critters will be locked out of the attic. I could not have asked for faster or better service. I will continue to use Mullen for my HVAC systems, plumbing, and other problems that arise in the house. They provide excellent service, their prices are reasonable and they arrive when they say they are going to. I can't thank them enough!

I had a leak late at night and out of all the people I called who offered "24 hour" service they were the only ones who answered and came out to help me with my leak. I can't tell you how much I appreciated their response. I needed to replace my gas hot water tank. My old one was not up to code, so they had to modify the installation. The new one needed to be 18" off the floor and be moved a little distance from the gas furnace. They had to order additional valves and fittings. It was an all day job, but I know it was done correctly and safely. They did an excellent job, hauled away the old tank, and left the area clean. Even though the cost was double the quote ( due to the code requirements) I am very satisfied with the workmanship and professionalism by Doug and his apprentice. Great job guys!

I have been doing business with Mullen since we moved back to Charleston in 2003. They have installed a water heat and have repaired my HVAC units two times and were very responsive on July weekends (both times) and did a great job. For the past 2 years I have had a service contract with them for my HVAC units. They have always been prompt on my semi-annual check-ups and we always ask for Rob who is our favorite tech. He came out both times to fix our units and always services them. He and Mullen are great people!

Where do I even begin? Our AC died on a Wednesday and everything was replaced and good to go by Friday. I submitted a request online and got a phone call within the hour. Turned out we had a bigger problem with our unit than we had predicted, but these guys were honest (not just trying to get a sale), clean, on time and safe with Covid restrictions. I can’t name any other local place that would guarantee that our unit would be fixed by the next day. Seriously so helpful esp with a newborn baby. We used Mullen for the complete replacement of our home HVAC systems (heat pump, 2 furnace with AC and a gas garage heater). Everything was perfect from start to finish. Jason and Allan were our technicians. They were on-time every visit. I was unable to be there during the day...they kept my wife posted throughout the process. So clean at the end of each day that you couldn't tell they were even there. I have had the privilege of using some great HVAC companies in the past but this service was incredible. We could not have asked for a better experience. In addition, John worked with us from start to finish, helping us choose the right units/options and ensuring everything was to our satisfaction. Recently had one 26 years old furnace bite the dust, and another has been limped along far too long. Mullen’s service tech (Burton) was straightforward that the repairs on the broken one would be very costly but could be done, but it might be wiser to look at a new unit. John C. came out and went over everything with me, including options. We decided to replace both HVAC units and while Mullen was here, to replace two 26 years old hot water tanks. Alan and his crew arrived promptly the next day and set to work on removing the old units and installing the new ones. The plumbing crew installed the hot water tanks and worked seamlessly around the HVAC crew, too. It wasn’t an easy HVAC install and they encountered some challenges dating back to the home’s construction so the project took four days. They tackled each problem and solved each one, while being the most professional, polite, and pleasant crew I’ve ever dealt with. Drywall and paint work, when completed, made it so you never knew how complicated it was. We love our new system, and love not worrying about the hot water tanks anymore, either. Thank you for taking great care of us.

Installed new natural gas line from main utility company valve to meter, tested line to meter and then meter to home. Worked flawlessly with gas company inspector to get digging, installation, inpection and filling of trench in less than 1 day without having to leave trench open for gas company inspection at later time. The crew sent to do the work was adequate in number for the task and very good at their job. They were curteous, professional and worked well with the gas utility company onsite. Also, they were on time and call prior to arrival to verify all was good to begin the work that day. Mullen's bid for the contracted repair to be submitted to my insurance company was within less than $10 difference of what the insurance had told me they would pay me for the repair (even after my deductable) so, Mullen's bid was so good of a value for what I needed done, that I had no out of pocket expense or price hassle with insurance company. There was no need to shop around for bids and waiting for all other companies submittals when my heat was out during this cold ice storm. The insurance company had no issue with their bid and I could quickly accept it and get scheduled for reapir with no out of pocket expense for me due Mullen's prices for the work. I can't thank them enough for restoring my gas heat, Hot water and cook stove this winter in a fast and professional manner, especially when having to be cleared/inspected by a utility company before it could get turned back on and with all the ice, power outages and cold weather to contend with. Their office staff was a pleasure to deal with over the phone. Couldn't ask for a better group of peiple to deal with when facing a home utility dilemma in my opinion. I can't give them enough stars for a review!

Another great experience with Mullen Plumbing! I originally called them for a leaking hot water tank. While onsite I asked them to check for an outside water leak (my water bill kept going up!) They did determine I had a leak and ended up having to replace the line from the meter to the house. It was a very difficult job as my yard is very steep and rocky. They came several days in a row and finished the job quickly. Techs were very knowledgeable and professional.

Came after hours in timely manner, were very professional, fixed the clogged drain, and even cleaned up the mess. Would have been 5 stars but extremely pricy, they looked it over, gave me a price, fixed the clog, and did paperwork all in 1 hour for $650 dollars! Technician tells me when he was done that it was not as involved as he thought it would be but since that was the price he quoted me that’s how much it would be. I think that is a bad way to treat a customer when clearly it wasn’t as big a deal as was quoted, while I don’t know market rates are for unclogging a drain in an hour $650 certainly feels expensive to me.

I recently had my 40+ year old System replaced with a new Rheem Heat Pump System. The guys were on time ready to work, professional and I believe that they left my furnace area cleaner than it was when they got there. They had the whole job done that day and didnt leave until they made sure everything was up to par and went over everything with me. Im extremely pleased as I have been everytime they do work for me. High marks to Ben, Josh & Mike. Due to the configuration of the space to install our new tankless hot water heater & HVAC system, they had to design, manufacture, and install vent configuration in our garage. They did not leave until system was running satisfactorily after putting in a 12 hour day. They replanted flowers that had to be dug up for outside venting and swept out the garage once they were done. And we are loving the new system.
