Papalia recently installed a mini split heating/cooling system in our home and we are very pleased with the entire experience. We got several quotes for the project prior to settling on Papalia and their estimate was in line with the others. Tony was very thorough in determining what was needed and in communicating the proposed layout of the system. Roger and the installation team were also great to work with. The entire team was very professional and courteous and they kept us up to date as they progressed through the installation. I would not hesitate to use them again.

The crew was in my driveway by 8 in the morning on the day scheduled. Complete replacement of an old gas furnace and electric A/C by a heat pump and new gas furnace was accomplished in about 7 hours. A larger-than usual crew was on site. They explained everything they were doing and were very respectful of the property. They took extra time to explain the controls of the new system. From the initial estimate to the completion of the project, Papalia was professional and efficient. A great experience.

Clara came the night before the installation & was fabulous. Evaluated the situation provided us with the cost & & what needed to be done answered our questions & contained the water. Clara & Justin came to instal the new water heater on Sunday. They were professional , very knowledgeable, pleasant, efficient & went right to doing the work they came to do. They were well organized, arrived right on time & respected our home by using drop clothes on all our floors where work was being done. They showed us what we needed to know about the heater & left our home spotless. It was a great experience I highly recommend Papalia & Clara & Justin as technician. great!!

I am very glad that I choose papalia home services after I met with Joe and Nicole for the estimate. They were very honest. They gave me an estimate and they stuck to it, even when the job had more challenges such as a crawl space. They did 5 new re-wired outlets for my new kitchen and even the city inspector was so amazed of their neat work.They always arrived on time, they keep the area clean, they were corteous and very neat doing their job. I will highly recommend them not 100 instead 1000%. Even my dogs love them.. Papalia needs more electricians like Joe and Nicole. Nicole always doble check to be sure everything was right. Joe worked around the cabinets contractor to be sure one of the outlets were on the right place. Is not any other words that I can use that will be enough to describe their work! Excellent job!

I called Papalia Hone Services in need of emergency plumbing services after a dishwasher installation from another company caused a leak under the kitchen sink. They addressed my call quickly and efficiently and put me in the queue for emergency plumbing services. I received a call within an hour that a plumber had been dispatched and would arrive within 30 minutes. Luis and Cam arrived and quickly diagnosed the issue and replaced the damaged part. As they were finishing up, I discovered another plumbing issue- the valve for our RO water system that I had shut off because of the other leak started leaking when I turned it back on! We thought it just needed tightening but the whole valve needed replacing, which they again did efficiently. My whole experience with Papalia Home Services was great- the woman taking my information initially was friendly and efficient, and Luis and Cam were professional, friendly, and the work is very clean and high quality. They also wore booties in the house, which I appreciated. They took time to explain everything they’d done. Everything was so easy and efficient- we will definitely use Papalia again and recommend their services!

Bought a new house and I needed a plumber, electrician, and AC service companies on short notice. I called EVERYONE in the Acton-Maynard-Concord Area. Only Papalia responded, and they did so immediately. Great customer service by phone, and professional follow up for booked appointments. I have used them for plumbing twice, electrical once, and AC repair once. The work done was excellent. The electrical work was priced mid-range (fair). Pluming prices seem to be in the high range. AC work was priced very high, however, my appointment was a Sunday emergency, so that needs to be taken into account. If you need quick help and want it done right, this is the place to call.

Dan H. is professional, knowledgeable, helpful and very patient. He came in after hours and was able to install a smart thermostat, which provided a temporary fix for my heating problems. He took the time to explain why the system was not working and aknowledged that mistakes were made and noted that his company would ensure that a permanent solution will be provided. He also explained in detail how the smart thermostat works and helped set up the App on my phone. I highly recommend Dan and I believe he represents his company well.

The sales team accurately quoted and matched what we got (no overselling or surprises). Invoicing was professional and we were able to make payments online. They communicated the shipping issues and once they received the equipment were here, on time, with a full crew of courteous and skilled experts willing to answer questions and, more importantly, work around our WFH schedules. They were very diligent about placing drop cloths and vacuuming up when they were done. It was obvious that this is a good place to work because they all easily communicated with each other and were a cohesive and friendly team. Now we are sitting in a wonderfully air conditioned house during a heat wave and we couldn't be happier. Looking forward to lower heating bills in the winter with a more efficient system as well. Highly recommended.

Seamus is absolutely fantastic!!!! Super knowledgeable and professional- great at explaining in detail what was needed. Sadly we have town water that has a lot of minerals so our water heater has suffered. Unfortunately this is the second time that parts inside needed replacing. However, Papilia made sure that the parts will be replaced under warranty. The labor is very costly but I feel well taken care of knowing that their water heater expert, water filter expert, and truly skilled technician Seamus is on the case!!!! I did use this service on august 19,2022. I booked an appointment for someone to come in and check my water. I was told at the time of the booking would be $139.00. Which I was more the willing to pay, when they came is was told the additional cost of $185.0O to test the water. I do believe this is false representation in the part of this company. It took them a total of about twenty minutes to do an in home test of my water. I was then told if I wanted to have my water sent to a laboratory for further testing it was a additional cost. I was very disappointed in this service. I certainly was not going to pay a service charge of $139.00 just for some to come to my house and that not have my water tested. I feel this is false advertising and not very expectable practice to a consumer. The total price for that visit was $324.00, I fine this very costly for the average income customer. I just want to thank this company for the fast respond to my review. They immediately contacted me by phone and acknowledge the issues I had. I am very impressed with the matter in which they took care of my comments and corrected the amount of money. They where very responsive to all of my points and corrected them without question. It’s make a consumer feel good that someone took the time to listen and respond. Thank you!

On call customer rep called me within ten minutes on the day after thanksgiving, a day, the business was closed, when I left an emergency note about a leak in my ceiling. She advised not using the suspected cause of the leak, a bathroom, and scheduled a regular call for the following Monday. This saved me $230 emergency holiday call with low risk. Leak was investigated but not repaired because ceiling had dried and leak stopped with three days of not using the suspected bathroom. Further investigation would’ve required digging into the walls which technician didn’t recommend. No further issue since then. I’m very satisfied with their customer response and technician!

Eddie was very professional in his installation of my AC unit. Unfortunately, he took out the wrong unit. The correct AC unit that was identified as broken and to be replaced was not changed. I have a new system for the wrong part of my home. Senior technicians and management will review the situation with me this week. I need urgent resolution. There was a critical communication gap between sales and installation. My AC has been out for weeks. Extremely frustrating and disappointing.

Bit disappointed. The technician insisted that one of the heater was not included and I need to pay extra. I had to tell him that I have yearly contract and it is paid. Also he told that if we are using the bathroom, he can wait only for 15 min and he will leave.usually they have better service.

The whole team was great see below for more information. I had a leak to the water supply to the water closet (toilet), which could rupture any time and would to shut the water off for the entire house. I had called several other companies and they couldn’t provide me with a suitable answer. Therefore, I called Papalia Home Services and spoke to CSR, and had some close bye me took down all my information. Approximately 5 minutes past, received call from dispatcher and would have Mark there in 20 minutes. I received a text with picture and contact info. Mark was there on time fixed it, however since he was there I requested for him to checked the others. I decided to replace all three them, however he only had two. He used is tablet to order what he need, and in 15 minutes another associate came with what he needed. The whole team was great highly recommended. 1/18/23 The whole team was great again: Leak on Saturday1/14, I spoke to the CSR couldn't schedule anyone till Monday 1/16 7:30 - 8:30 AM. I booked it, the tech arrived on time he investigated the leak as it had self sealed and finalized it was in main line for house cut out two foot section. To date no leak has occurred. One call and fix right the first time.

Water flow in the shower was low and inconsistent. Clara arrived on-time and after some diagnostic work, recommended that we replace components in the valve. She had the necessary parts on the truck, replaced the parts and resolved the problem. She also noticed an issue with a nearby sink drain and offered to fix that as well. Very polite, professional and thorough. Payment for the service was handled via Apple Pay - painless and secure. Papalia has an excellent service program that we also use for our HVAC.

Patrick had recently done an annual service. He rechecked the main system and everything seemed fine but there was obviously a problem. We hired Papalia for a large project to replace our entire heating/cooling system in our 100+ year old home. We replaced an old steam boiler and AC units with a gas furnace and heat pumps through the mass save program. Mark was terrific - he diagnosed and fixed the issue with our Weil-Mclain boiler quickly and got to functioning again until we can get a proper replacement part. Everyone we've dealt with there has been professional, timely, insightful, and good at their jobs. My only issue with Papalia is that they are EXTREMELY expensive... I don't know how much is labor costs vs parts markups, but a $40 replacement part for my boiler was going to cost well over $500 to replace... and it looks like it should be about a 15 minute job. I understand that cost covers warranty, parts, and labor - but still it seems more than a little steep, and I had that same experience when being quoted another seemingly simple job. I love these guys and would use them for everything if they did not cost so exorbitantly much.

During the first spell of warm weather this year, we discovered our AC had stopped cooling. A previous unhappy experience with another company lead us to ask around, and a neighbor who had similar disappointments with other companies was very enthusiastic in his recommendation of Papalia, so we gave them a call. It turned out that our AC needed to be replaced, but they took the time to explain exactly why, and provided us with three options, including one that included a heat pump that not only improved efficiency, but was also subsidized by the state, which made that the most attractive solution overall. Since this was the busiest time of the year for AC work, we were initially told we'd have to wait several weeks for installation, but as the date approached, were offered an earlier date due to a cancellation. When the actual day came for the installation, I was very impressed with not only their professionalism, efficiency and friendliness, but also their willingness to answer any questions I had, in detail. I should also note that whenever I had to call the office, the women I spoke with were invariably pleasant, and if they couldn't answer my question immediately, made sure I was informed in a timely manner, either by phone or email. This is how a service company should be run.

While Nick and his team arrived during the time window provided and did help with the job, however the charges for their services are very high. They could not replace the shower cartridge as they did not have the right size they still took 50% charge for having tried and will charge remaining when they comeback with the right size. I think if you are willing to shell out $$$ then their service is very good. At least our 1 problem for sink faucet replacement has been done 100% and it was a breeze.

The estimate for a replacement system was astronomical and it felt like an upsell. I really commend the technician for his friendly demeanor and diligence, but am concerned that the business may be interested in profits over customers. The contractor chosen to replace my water heater immediately made clear the disadvantages of the system proposed by Papalia and was able to replace my system for 1/3 the estimated price. Addition: Thanks for your response. I do think you guys know what your talking about and really appreciated the service (as I said). However, I think the quoted system was overkill for my situation and I didn't hear much about the ongoing maintenance costs for the system or the fact that I might not need such a high level of filtration based on where my water originates.

This week they replaced our ailing tankless water heater with an impressively installed new system. Our most recent business with Papalia Home Services (our first encounter was a water heater replacement emergency in October-2021) was to have a basement through-the-floor sump and sump pump installed, and to have a whole-house water system expansion tank installed. Having been in the trades and run my own business in the past, I'm very particular (nit-picky) about planning and doing the job right, and choosing and using the best available materials. No compromises. This is a trait that seems to have been lost in much of the services business. But Seamus Craig and his assistant did an exceptional job on both of these projects. Obviously, jack hammering through our basement slab was a dirty and potentially risky proposition, but he planned out the work to be done and did it perfectly. He even sealed the sump into the concrete slab with hydraulic cement, something I see very few people using today (or even knowing how to use). I was extremely impressed with his knowledge of the materials he chose (exactly what I would have chosen if I had done this myself) and his ability to use them properly, as well as his knowledge of general, as well as detailed, construction techniques and local/state building codes. The finished job was immaculately cleaned up, and the results (of both projects) are big improvements to the value of our home, and our (my) knowing that the job was very professionally and properly done. They were in and out in less then 40 minutes. Suggestion is to wave the $99 service charge if work is done same day. Basically I paid almost $80-$100 an hour on top of the service charge if you do the math. Kind of a high price but they were very professional and clean and on time and service was good. In total I paid $231.31 for them to splice wires together in one fixture so one of my basement lights turns on with the rest of them now, when I flick the light switch before going downstairs. Papalia Home Services has a great membership program. My heater stopped working on a fairly cold morning. The Papalia tech persons Mike and Padraic came within a few hours and quickly identified the problem. They made phone calls with the manufacturer and the warehouse to identify the heat exchanger that I needed. Padraic offered to pick up the part himself to save time. Within 48 hours the new heat exchanger was installed and tested along with a new primary circulator pump. While installing it, Mike noticed that the heavy assembly of piping, etc., needed better propping and he himself built a sturdy wooden support structure. A pipe on my older electric water heater was leaking very slowly so I scheduled an appointment with Papalia. I spoke with Robin who was very professional and accommodating to my request for an early morning appointment. The plumber, Mark arrived right on time with his helper, Pete. They were both friendly and professional every step of the way. They were both wearing masks and maintained proper social distancing. They went into the basement and evaluated the issue. Mark came back around to my front door and we discussed repairing just the pipe or fully replacing the water heater as well. I opted to replace my water heater as it was 12 years old. He placed an order for the model that I wanted and told me EXACTLY what the cost was going to be. I appreciated the up front pricing as I have dealt with other service companies that give you an low estimate then hit you with charges once they are in the door. Robin called me shortly after Mark and Pete left to schedule the install, and again, she was able to give me an early morning appointment. Mark and Pete arrived the following Monday and made quick work of the installation. I am very happy with the service I received - the water heater looks great, they cleaned up after themselves and they even installed a pan underneath it. My kitchen sink was beginning to drain very slowly. I called Papalia to make an appointment to have it unclogged. I called on Tuesday and got an appointment for Friday. On the day of the appointment, Nick and Mike texted 30 min. prior to arriving and arrived on time. They were very friendly and courteous. They have done a few of these before :-). They got the drain unclogged very shortly, tested it numerous times to make sure it was draining correctly. He filled up the sink with water, and then started the drain. Papalia is not the cheapest place to go to, but they employ people who seem to take their job seriously in a way that I haven't seen at other plumbers that I've hired- they seem to go to seminars on their own time to learn more about plumbing, and really take pride in the work. The guys (and gals- Nick, and Claire) who have worked on my various installations are generally very chill and friendly people who take their time, and sometimes seem to spend almost more time than necessary, as though they were working on their own house. The finished plumbing on our new tankless water heater looks incredibly neat and well organized, and when there were knocking sounds the supervisor, Mike, came back within days and found the cause to be some important pressure problems with the whole water system in the house that were probably causing issues and wear and tear on all our fixtures, which they fixed on the spot by adding new valves and regulators. They are expensive, but doing these large jobs right, and knowing that they are there if anything goes wrong, is very much worth the money.

There were a few things that they could improve on. It was not made clear to me that I needed to accept their work proposal online. They did not notice that I had air duct filters installed in the upstairs ceiling for easy replacement, and installed additional unnecessary air filters attached to the attic air handling systems. The manager of the installation crew was not familiar with the capabilities of the equipment that was installed and gave me distressing and incorrect information about the lowest outside temperature for efficient heating with my system that needed to be corrected by the person that made the original estimate.

The plumber came to diagnose and repair a leak in our kitchen faucet. He diagnosed the problem quickly but suggested that rather than repair the faucet (quoted $400+) we replace it with another faucet (quoted $370 + cost of the faucet). What he didn't offer was that the fix was an easy DIY with a $30 part (thank you YouTube). More transparency would be nice. At least I didn't get ripped off, but the attempt was made. And charging $400+ to replace the part, which took me (not a plumber) about 10 minutes, seems excessive.

I recently had them come out to service my furnace, within a few weeks it started acting up again, so they sent the same tech back out to address the issues at no charge. While they aren't the cheapest service out there, I think their pricing is at least reasonable enough to not take a star off of the rating. Last Sat the furnace had stopped working. For $200(Sat charge) & another $125(diagnosis), Eddie said I needed both another return duct and a heat exchanger (on a 7 1/2 yr old, top of the line American Standard furnace!). After he rebooted it, the system ran & sounded fine, but he said it should be turned off for potential CO2/cracks. They are sending me the price to replace the heat exchanger and make a new duct. Another Company had also responded to my request, so I decided to have them come for a 2nd opinion. Again, the system went on and sounded fine. He could find no cracks or any evidence that I needed to REPLACE the heat exchanger (took meter readings on several vents over the hour- CO2=0) OR have a new return duct. He said often big furnaces like mine have 2 return vents, but mine has 1 extra large duct which suffices, and pointed out that the town inspector would not have approved the system if it needed another return duct. The system has 4 zones and only 1 had been turned on which Armus said could overheat the system and make it shut down. In fact, my renters set their thermostat close to 70 and we had a few nights below freezing. I could hear it the 2nd stage fan going on a lot, so it makes sense that it had overheated- and only needed rebooting All I can say is thank goodness I got in Armus Mechanical-- or I would have paid THOUSANDS for unnecessary changes!!!! Oh, and several times, Eddie responded to questions with a very curt 'you're not listening to me'. He seemed to have an attitude from the get go. Something about it made me want to get someone else's opinion
