All of my interactions, from initial phone call to signing for payment were handled courteously and professionally. I was informed of all repair needs, given options, and never pressured. Most importantly because I had gas leaks and a very old boiler, I felt my family's safety and welfare was their priority. We were offered heaters due to colder temperatures until our heat could be restored. They welcomed my questions and concerns. Communication was excellent through the whole service.

I had a pressure reducing valve, backflow valve and water heater expansion tank installed and replaced. Dale was the technician who came out and he was extremely knowledgeable and professional. It was refreshing to deal with someone who cared about their work. This is the first time I’ve used Saffer for anything and it will not be my last. Our 34-year-old boiler started short cycling, and another company and a private contractor said we needed to replace it. It was too expensive to fix, they told us. Then the guys from Saffer came over, quickly figured out the problem, and the replacement part we needed was only $100. Saffer's guys said we had another good few years with this boiler. It was such a relief. They're trustworthy and reasonably priced. I can't recommend them enough.

After returning home from a weekend trip, I noticed the boiler was not engaging with my thermostat. I called Saffer as I often see the colorful vans throughout Baltimore City. Chris came over on the same day (my heat had been out for almost 24 hours), and while the problem was not immediately evident as to why my heat wouldn't come on, Chris enlisted another tech, Jerry, who happened to be close by. Jerry came in the house, and noticed that the emergency switch had been turned off accidentally. While it was a silly small thing, both gentlemen were gracious and understanding that accidents happen - and that only professionals know what to look for (I certainly didn't)!! I'll DEFINITELY call Saffer in the future for any heating or plumbing need. They were good humored and understanding!!

Dale was AMAZING! Very methodical in his approach to analyze where the water was coming from in my basement. In the end it was a backed up sewer line. He suggested calling Baltimore City to see if the blockage was from the cleanout to the water main first. If the clog was there it's B-more city's responsibility to clear. He also gave me an estimate for cleaning/repairing if repair needed to be done on my end. It wasn't cheap, but less expensive than some of the quotes my neighbors received from other vendors. In the end, the blockage was on the city side. But that said, I have used Saffer for many projects including new hot water heater and other misc. plumbing projects. I would use them again in a heartbeat. And Saffer, make sure you acknowledge the professionalism and knowledge-base Dale has. He's a true asset to your organization. Renee

Saffer was amazingly responsive - we are so impressed with their professionalism and their service to customers. When we woke up in the frigid cold on the morning of Christmas Eve with the heater not working, I called Saffer. Within an hour or so, someone was out here troubleshooting. He was able to diagnose the problem and provide a temporary fix, with the promise of an electrician coming by to provide a permanent repair the following week. But around 6 that evening, we got a call that the electricin could come out and complete the repair. By 7:15 the problem was completely solved. We are so grateful that these service people gave up their vacation time on Christmas Eve to ensure that we didn't spend the holiday weekend huddled around a space heater. I highly recommend Saffer (and their yearly service contract).

I'm a service tech in a different industry and I really appreciated his honesty and professionalism. He look at our issue, gave us a rough idea, and is sending over a quote. The joys of new homeownership - I tried to clear our tub drain and ended up getting the plastic drain snake stuck. In a panic, I called Saffer and they were able to send someone over that same night. I had not used Saffer Plumbing in the past, but when my sump pump went up last weekend, they couldn't have been more responsive and fantastic. I called mid-day Saturday, they picked right up, and had a tech out within 40 minutes who was extremely professional. Their online quoting process was clear and concise not to mention extremely easy to sign off on remotely since I was not in the home at the time. Payment was also straightforward after the job was complete. The new pump is working great! After using multiple of the "big guys" I couldn't have been more impressed and will definitely use them again.

We had some issues with previous work. Bam came out and took a look at what was going on and quickly diagnosed the issue. He then recommended Rick as the Lead Tech to help repair the problem and I was able to get an appointment within a few days (since it was not an emergency). I needed Saffer plumbing to do a little out of the ordinary job for me. In my kitchen I wanted to have my electric wall ovens removed and replaced with a washer/dryer combo. I had explained this to another plumbing company before I called Saffer Plumbing. And they didn't want to do it. Saffer plumbing had the courtesy to send one of their plumbers to my home to know if they would accept the job. Plumbers Rick and Bam checked out my unusable request and told me it can be done. Rick worked up a reasonable estimate that I accepted. Job was promptly started, plumbers Rick and Bam took on a very challenging job that was completed in 3 days, and a great job they did. SAFFER PLUMBING and their crew will be the only plumbing company I call with a problem.

It's never nice to see the toilet bowl fill up and not empty. Then see the backup flow up into the shower floor. I used the plunger, but fairly quickly knew that it was time to call Saffer. I got scheduled that afternoon around 4. I got a call around 2 saying they could come early. Sure. An hour and 15 minutes later, the roots they pulled out of the drain was the problem. $600. A good price for the expertise and work done.

They called the county for me and put in the request. (Can not say enough good about them) County came out and said my problem was with a different drain. Called Shaffer back (as I was told it was not an emergency by the county) left an voice messages. They were at my house by 7:30 Friday morning. Assessed the problem, had it fixed by 11 AM! When Steve came out he told us what was wrong right away AND brought up another fix that needed to be done before it turned into a problem as well. I THINK i would recommend Saffer, but I was VERY disappointed with Saffer, as a Friday customer, first appointment, when I experienced 2 separate and subsequent leaks after the replacement of pipe on Friday done by Saffer, Dale and Bradley, and being told early Saturday morning when I called several times that someone could not address these new problems till Monday, even though these new problems occurred only after the repair work done by Saffer. Nick came on Monday, follow up second appointment, and worked diligently and resolved these new problems and even another one that occurred.

Saffer is in proximity to me and I was going to call them regarding a minor plumbing issue. However, I called the company after hours on a Saturday evening sounding frantic. I overfilled my boiler/steamer and water was gushing from it and leaking from a pipe in one of my bathrooms. I thought the boiler/steamer would explode! My radiators made screeching noises. He arrived about an hour later after my call on 1-23-2021. He drained it (which took two drums and 2 buckets of water) and made certain that it was working properly. Rick recommended that I get an automatic water feeder so that I would not need to supply the water. Also, he advised to get a water expander to catch water if there is an overfill. He sent the service plan to my email so that I could read it later. The price was a fair one. Rick was professional, friendly, and most importantly he resolved the issue.

Both times they came out and did a free inspection; once of a water problem in my basement- thought it was the furnace, and another water problem with my shower. Both times, it turned out to that I didn’t need service. I was most grateful for the free evaluation and opinion. I doubt anyone else would have the expertise to diagnose either issue as they were.
