The technician and the whole scheduling staff has been awesome to work with! They sent email reminders and text updates when they were coming. I’ve enjoyed working with Orkin for the most part. It started out a bit bumpy because of some staffing issues, which is why I put in 4 stars. I also didn’t feel like the initial house inspection was as thorough as it could have been. But my past few services have been great. Super easy, punctual, quick. And I hardly ever see any live bugs in my house anymore. I can’t remember the last time I saw a cockroach, and my crawl space was infested with them when I moved in so that’s saying a lot! Will continue with Orkin because it’s easy and the results have been good.

I called several pest control agencies in the valley, and of the 7 I called, only 2 showed up to physically inspect our condo. The other company that came out wanted 3 times what Orkin charges. We very rarely have spiders after starting with Orkin. We have been very happy with that. Our only complaint is that some technicians are more thorough than others. When you pay for pest control, you would hope they treat every area and take a lot of caring in catching everything. Some technicians are awesome that way, others not so much.

We had a bad mouse infestation at our house. It was so bad, we no longer felt it was healthy to live there and moved out til we could get a handle on this. They set all kinds of traps and came often to check. At one point there were 19 mice in the traps. We have been mouse free in the house for a few months and only 1 in the garage. We have cleaned up the awful mess and will be moving back soon. Such a relief to know the mice are out of the house. Thanks Orkin and thanks Lee for being so helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable.

I called to make arrangements for someone to come out to my condo. I had caught 6 mice over the course of 2 mo. That is 6 too many. 3 were in the last 3 1/2 wks. I have a parrot but it’s been out of my house for a month. Orkin was able to come out the next day and the window period was just 2 hours! Tony arrived 40 before the window and waited for me to get home from work. He apologized for being early because I had to leave work earlier than planned. Wasn’t a problem and an apology wasn’t expected/wanted/needed. Who comes 40 min early and waits?! Other services have left and came back later when they were early. It snowed the night before. He was conscientious to cover his shoes each time he came in the house Tony was thorough, kind, optimistic, and compassionate. (I’ve been spazzing.) My AC, water heater, and furnace are outside. I hadn’t checked around the AC. He did and found a possible/probable point of entrance. He saw a hole by the furnace that I had missed. I didn’t think the mice could reach a spot by my water heater. He did. He closed off 2 other outside possibilities that I hadn’t seen. Tony had been impressed w my efforts (but clearly I missed some key areas.) The feedback was appreciated. He educated me as he worked and reviewed again before he left. Tony gave me his cell number because of my level of spazziness. He said that the traps will catch any remaining mice within the next 48 hrs. Empty traps = no more mice. He said to call him if there are mice and he’ll be back. Early, super professional, and compassionate. Initial fee and monthly follow-ups (no contract required) were on point with what I hoped for. Better. I’ve lived in my place for 9 yrs (with the parrot) and this is the first time I’ve had mice. I wish I had called after the 2nd mouse. I recommend them 110%!! Thank you Tony for being awesome!!

spencer was the best , setup traps , took care of the dead mouse , clogged up some entry points , checked in areas we had concerns abt such as under the couch , gave us some extra traps and told us to text him anytime we needed him . very reassuring and easy to talk to .

Although the service was good and they were friendly, we did choose to end our service and this where it got bad. Upon closing our account, we no longer had access to pay final our bill and they refused to take payment over the phone. We were advised once an account is closed it goes to another company for billing. We contacted that company and they said they will not get the billing until the account reaches 60 days past due and they directed us back to Orkin Utah location. We went back and forth and both companies refused to take our final payment. 60 days later, we get the nasty past due letter advising our account is now 60 days past due. Finally they are willing to take our payment. Their account closing process is unprofessional. When we decide to bring back pest control services in the future, we will not be using Orkin. To Orkin, please review your account closing process and ensure internal communication on proper procedures are trained and followed to ensure your customers are not put through this hassle in the future.

I wrote a review 3 years ago, but had to share my experience from today. We had a pest problem and called. They told us if we could wait a day, we could have Hayden. The guy told me Hayden was the best. Saying he’s the best is a gross understatement!! He heard it, so he went after it. He caught and killed it on the spot!! I have 2 little boys with lots of questions, Hayden was patient with them and kind. We would go with airline again in a heartbeat!!

Spencer came on time for our initial treatment. He did a wonderful job, going above and beyond to make sure we’re satisfied with our service. He has very high emotional skills to patiently deal with my fussiness, as I asked him to wear disposable shoe covers when he came inside the house and he happily agreed. When he was about to go into the bedrooms I requested he wear a disposable coveralls with hood suit and he willingly did with patience. He was very professional, thorough and clearly explained what he was doing. He is an expert in his field with a very friendly and positive attitude, you are lucky to have such a professional employee. I will definitely recommend your company to our family and friends.

I really wish they would tell me when they were planning on coming. They set up the schedule without consulting me. I had to constantly reschedule because it was always a surprise when they were coming. The last time they came, they didnt even give a warning. I just got a service report and a bill. I was not made aware of how things were going, or what rooms they did, or what they found. the service report just tells you what products they used. That's all the info I had, and when I called to ask what was done, they said they would have the tech call me. Which never happened. The roaches were less after their treatment, but 6 months in, I found a roach in a sticky trap, so I guess not completely exterminated. The people are generally nice, I just wish they were more professional and effective.

We have used Orkin for four years now and had been very pleased with their services especially when we had a tech named Matt coming. Lately their service has gone downhill a bit. Some months a technician shows up without any warning and yesterday the technician tracked dirt clods all through the house and I had to sweep and vacuum as soon as he left. That was really disappointing. The bug prevention overall has been great, we just wish the customer service was a little better.

While hes executing the plan he inspects and adresses other issues. All of which are covered in the plan we are on. Our exterminator was very friendly & quick, however scheduling an appt was another story. They did not properly inform me when i asked about after care/ before care of inspection and also scheduled me for the wrong time than we agreed.

They helped us solve an extensive mouse problem we had 4 years ago when moving into our new home. They spent hours looking for the problem areas and soon the problem was resolved completely. Since then they have come every few months to spray etc and we never have spiders or other bugs in the house. They are friendly, on time and always wear shoe covers to protect out flooring. Definitely recommend them!

UPDATE: After failing to come to two scheduled appointments, without a phone call, the Branch Manager called me and explained the situation. Rather than make excuses, he owned the mistake and we had a good conversation. He was extremely fair in making up for the missed appointments and we rescheduled. The tech showed up within the two hour window and did an excellent job finding the sources of the problem and was more than willing to explain what he was doing so I could do main pest control in between appointments. The tech worked quickly but efficiently. ORIGINAL: I've heard nothing but good things about Orkin, but I don't think I can trust that. I scheduled my initial inspection, left work early to meet the tech and they never called or showed up. I sat on the 800 number line for 45 minutes before calling Orkin HQ and rescheduling for the following day. Same thing. Left work early to be there for the 2 hour window the tech was supposed to come by. At the very least, they owe me for the time I missed at work (5 hours). That's the bare minimum discount I'll accept to do business with them.

The tech wasn't any more sure than I am that I have mice, since the indications that I have experienced haven't been very clear or specific. However, whatever is there, I think in the walls, needs to be eradicated. He put down some traps and sealed two entrances that mice could enter through, one under my sink and one outside by my air conditioner. He was very thorough, professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. He was also very concerned about my issues and I appreciated his friendly attitude and that he even gave my puppy attention as we discussed these issues. I would like to give him a commendation if that's a possibility.

They do a great job; over several years the insects in our house have significantly decreased, and we are far less annoyed than we were when we moved here. Our house is a restored 120 year old stone building, and we’re very happy with the service and the result Orkin provides.

Orkin is very professional, effective, and competitively priced. They have always done a terrific job of pest control for us. We've used Orkin at our home in Chicago for many years and now here. The scheduling system is excellent and our Tech was even 30 minutes early on our first treatment. Outdoor carpenter ants and wasps were our main problem. Orkin is getting them eradicated. Our Tech, Antonio, was very well trained, knowledgeable, and customer service focused on our specific needs. Extremely satisfied so far.

I recently got treatment for box elder bugs done at my house using Orkin’s service. The treatment seems to be working great for the exteriors of the house. I’m trying more intensive treatment for the interiors of the house. Their manager who’s looking after the North Salt Lake region is a professional and reasonable man. I felt at the core of their service is the ability to work with the customer for their satisfaction. It’s this humility of theirs that made me go for their service after talking to their competitors. Box elder bugs is a seasonal issue with “no silver bullet” and “Orkin doesn’t have a new secret formula that’s going to revolutionize their treatment” , but having the ability to empathize and connect with a customer at a human level will go far far in establishing customer loyalty than any monetary factor or google review. I hope they realize this subtly and keep doing a great job.

Update*** I called in bc I thought I saw an unauthorized charged. Called in and got told what happened which the agent explained perfectly. Told agent what I actually wanted to be done on my previous call and she offered to cancel my service over the phone but did still need to wait the 30 days which fine. I’m changing my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars bc this agent made a WHOLE difference and changed my perspective on the way the company runs. Shout out to her! Original **** Still not sure how I feel about the service overall but I’m very upset about how we have to cancel service and their billing. Before signing up GET CLARIFICATION. Was told I have to write a 30 day notice letter stating “ I want to cancel my service” in order to cancel which is in my opinion ridiculous. I’ll be putting a block on my card so they don’t try anything funny while they get my letter. I’m making sure I get a copy of it and copy of it being delivered. I feel like I just got scammed $100 + the initial $150+ I paid to start the service.

They were very thorough and checked the entire house and we feel confident that the problem will be solved and that we didn’t wait any longer to take care of our pest problems. We usually get an email or call to schedule the appointment but instead had an 8:30A doorbell with someone who had not serviced our location before. We have appreciated Russ’s attention to the areas of real concern. It is always nice to have him here. We asked our treatment to be done later as we were not prepared to walk someone through at that time. He offered to just do the outside but that would have been only half the service we needed. Your service rep was obliging and returned at 12:00 and did what we needed. He was pleasant enough.

Loved the tech (A.K.) that came out to help us. He seemed to do a thorough inspection. He didn't mind my million repetitive questions. Explained what he was doing as I followed along and watched. He didn't try to pressure us into a long term multi visit contract. He made recommendations based observations after inspections. The appointment coordinator wasn't as nice in many of those regards. They wanted to set up a schedule for a series of appointments without seeing the level or degree of our mice visitors. To paraphrase, there was a legal concern about making a single appointment compared to a single visit and used that to emphasize the need to create a plan for more visits rather then seeing the degree of attention needed first. As A.K. (our tech that came out) was our real point of contact with services, couldn't be happier. Would recommend based on his service. (Will amend review if our visitors come back within 30 days.)

Fourplex tenant called complaining of roach issue. Called Orkin and explained that I need the treatment. Person on the phone recommended treating the whole fourplex for best result scheduled for 10/9. Arranged for all tenants to stay home and provide access. Unfortunately, I was out of town and could not be there. Three of tenant stated that no one came. Was not able to get ahold of the 4th tenant yet. Called Orkin. They read the "work order" to me saying that both units were treated and that someone will reach out today on 10/11. Called to follow up twice so far. No one reached out but someone promptly responded to this 1 star review before I could type up this narrative. The office folks don't know anything and refer you to the tech who is always "on the job". Will update as I interact with the business. 10/18 - got a call from service manager to reschedule to do the remaining apartments. Took 5 calls back and fourth to get this corrected.

Orkin continued to be responsive even when I needed to call them several days in a row, and we got results. I am pleased to report that their knowledge, tools and approach proved to be effective for our pest problem! Initial Review: First Visit, I would give 5 stars but I don’t feel comfortable doing that until I see some visible success. I will provide more feedback after I give the remedies time to work. However, this first visit was excellent in that Kent was very knowledgeable and professional as he assessed our situation, answered my questions, and completed the initial treatments. The response time was remarkable (within a couple hours of my initial phone call). Given my level of anxiety about continuing problems after another Company had already been here 3 times with the problem getting even worse, the quick service and reassurance from Orkin was great.

My husband and I like our Orkin service, however our technician was not wearing his mask when speaking to my husband concerning our service. My husband had his mask on. Now, I ran out when I got concerned and then the technician got his mask out of his vehicle and then put it on. All your technicians need to have their masks in their possession at the ready when confronting the owner on the owner’s property. If this problem isn’t corrected we will find another company to complete our pest control service. Also, when knocking on my door, I want the technician to wear a mask. What if I need to open the door and talk to the technician? I need to be assured that Orkin is protecting me and my family at all times! It isn’t necessary for the technician to wear the mask while outdoors, unless we are talking to him. If we request indoor service, then a mask must be worn by the technician at all times. We, the owners, will be wearing a mask.

He was extremely thorough and went the extra mile in helping identify any openings and what to cover it with to prevent future entry of mice. He also made sure to spray every inch of the house. The initial visit was $92 with a free follow up visit in one week. After that, it will cost $92 ever other month for additional treatments. I compared prices and this was the lowest. I didn't necessarily go by the lowest price, it just worked out that way. I went with Orkin because of their reputation and guarantee.
