It seemed as if the fellow that did the inspection was trying to avoid helping us with a potential flea problem. We had to insist on having a full spectrum “bomb” of this hoarder house. After convincing him that we suspected the building had possible infestation of fleas, he acquiesced and dealt with the problem.

Too early to report if infestation is gone. However Mike was polite and knowledgeable with 5 yrs experience, will come back in 30 days. I hope the goal here is to be rid of the bugs and not need monthly service if I am diligent with keeping watch for NO further infestation. .... Needed a 2nd visit to blast the roaches in my 8x10 shed when I pulled my mower out. Do they eat Weed n Feed? Cuz there has never been food in shed! So far, my house is bug-free. Sept: I have learned there was reported infestation in nearby mobile homes!! I will continue treatments bi-monthly. Mike is an awesome technician!

Didn’t know they were coming this time No review conversation about any new activity- asked person to check garage for rodent activity, but didn’t check in after. Too expensive for what is done. I know mice will start to move in, but we’ll try setting our own traps for now.

Absolutely amazing service. My parents used them on my current house I bought from them back when I was a little girl and I couldn’t agree with them more about how great they were. The young man who came to my house was early to appointment time and listened to my concerns about the carpenter ants I have found on my property. He spent a great deal of time really covering every area of my home to make sure the issue would be dealt with. Couldn’t recommend anyone else to do as a thorough job as Blake did for me.

I got a bed bug inspection from Orkin. There were the fastest service to respond and schedule an appointment. The tech was on time and thorough. He didn’t find anything but he stayed to answer all my questions, told me what to look for moving forward and offered a free second inspection if I found evidence of bed bugs later

We have a contract with Orkin in which they performed an initial inspection then sprayed, laid bait and traps and come back every two months to do it all again. They fill cracks up to 1/2” then recommended how to patch and prevent in bigger spaces. If services are needed between appointments they come back any time free of charge. Our Orkin Man, Ben, is always so patient and sweet with my three toddlers who follow him around asking a million questions while he works. He’s very professional, friendly, and timely, and I always feel comfortable with him working in and around my home. Highly recommend!

When I spoke to someone on the phone, I was quoted a price with a one month follow up. Will arrived the next day within the two hour window, inspected my house and then applied the ant deterrent. Then we discussed payment and I didn't realize they wanted a one year commitment, I could cancel anytime. That is not what I wanted, just the one month follow up, so we were able to work out my payment. I may regret not taking the contract, but was otherwise happy with the service.

I was very pleased with the technician who came to my house to spray for wasps and flies. He was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I’m addition to that, I had a great experience with customer service. Orkin canceled and rescheduled my original appointment at the last minute, which frustrated me since I had already rearranged my personal schedule around when they could come. I called to complain about this. The customer service rep was very apologetic and understanding and worked hard to get a technician out to my house within hours, which I greatly appreciated. Overall, a great experience with the company.

The technician comes monthly and thoroughly sprays our backyard, trees, and brush for mosquitoes. Today I watched from inside the house and noticed he did not wear a mask or respirator which surprised me as it was somewhat windy.

I like the products used to help with mosquitos but scheduling has been a problem since day one. We’ve had Orkin for 3 Months and never have the technicians come on the days the email or texts say they are coming on. With kids and animals who need outside time it’s frustrating.

I am very pleased with the time they take to get to you. They keep you notified by text when they will be there and when they are in front of your house. Service men are very personable and thorough when explaining things. No response from local serviceman, so I called the main office. I did not receive the return call from the main office, as to when a return serviceman was coming. Only downfall, responsiveness.

We've had this service for years. What we like: they will return for no additional charge if there are any issues between visits. Orkin has a good product and service and they stand by their work. What we don't like: They made a proposal of changes to us and said we were way under the federal standard of insulation in our attic. When visiting the government's page I found that to be an untruthful statement entirely and felt that deserved a full star loss.

Update 9/16/2021: Justin performed our followup service on the 13th. He was wonderful, and so very helpful. Once again, a tech that made a stressful time so much easier. We have had absolutely no bedbug activity since the first treatment in late August, and are extra comforted that Orkin makes a second round to make sure these nasty little things are gone! Update on 8/30/2021: Jeff was our extermination tech today. He sure deserves a certificate in counseling services for this nervous nellie! He was very thorough in his explanations regarding process and steps going forward. I see he also took care of a few extra things beyond the contract. We will have a follow up treatment in 2 weeks, and I'm guessing things will continue to be just as great as they have been. The team members who are out & about, interacting with us thus far have been great! Original Review: So far so good, the inspection went great and was super informative. Christiana was fantastic and great at putting me at ease with the fact that this situation can happen to anyone at any time. I definitely plan to rethink how I travel and shop secondhand! More to come after treatment on Monday.

We used Orkin for the first time tonight to take care of a massive yellow jacket wasp nest in our foundation. Yes, you read right; our foundation (very rare situation). We were assigned a tech named Drew. He showed up eager and excited with a smile. He was very motivated to find a solution to our problem. He said Orkin wanted to send out a master tech for such a large nest but he knew he could tackle the job on his own. He explained the whole process to us and by the time he left our house situation appeared to be 100% better. Soooo happy he was assigned to our case. We hope this never happens again but if it does we will be calling and asking for Drew. Thank you Drew!! The first company we called was trash. They took our money and left us without any help or a solution. Orkin was worth every penny and got the job done I will update my post if anything changes. But, as of right now we are VERY happy customers.

This tech is amazing — He listens carefully to my concerns, makes a point to look at exactly that to which I refer, and comments as to what he says. He’s very courteous and thoughtful.. He covered his feet with blue booties when he walked in the house To protect my floors, I’m very carefully explain the paperwork. Then he went to work – – he carefully worked around my dogs, and treated the inside of my home and my dogs were outside, and the outside my home when my dogs were inside. He explained what he saw as he walked through my house, treating corners and edges. He gave suggestions. I’m very happy with this Orkin/tech.

John was willing to return for inside treatment but this will require re-scheduling and finding another day to have to make myself available. I’m starting to question whether Orkin is still the right company for me.

I contacted Orkin because I was having a problem with ants outside. During my first call, the operator educated me on ants and their colony behaviors. It was enlightening and I was impressed with how knowledgeable the operator was on these pests and the entire service process. After signing up for a 1 year service plan, a technician came for the initial inspection. He took his time and really helped to pinpoint a few problem areas. I have had 2 follow up visits now, as part of the service plan. My technician's name is Lobsang Dutsang. He performed both of my follow up/maintenance services so far. I really like him because he is very professional, and pays attention to detail. He listened to me when I pointed out more problem areas. He used a couple different tactics and I have seen only 1 ant outside in the past 2 months. He does a great job spraying and inspecting inside my home as well. I also really like how he always puts boot covers on before entering. I am very happy with my technician, Orkin and overall experience. Would highly recommend.

Our technician was extremely professional, kind and very informative. He went above and beyond, sprayed our huge wasp nests multiple times to ensure he got a good application, as an individual he deserves 5 stars. However, I am not giving Orkin, as an entity, 5 stars because they do not protect their technicians. They do not give them bee suits, they do not give them safety goggles to protect them from the chemicals & they do not give them gloves. Very disappointed that they do not value their employees safety.

We heard rustling in our attic and called Orkin the following morning. They were able to come to our house within 4 hours of us calling. The gentleman was masked for safety, respectful and spoke with us about what he saw and remediation options. We won’t know for a few days how the traps resolve our issue, but I felt comfortable and confident in the options presented. He also did an exterior inspection and recommended additional services to aid in our pest control.

Filled out the contact form online they called me back in a couple minutes. They happened to be in my neighborhood the next day so they came out and sprayed for mosquitoes. Said it would be 3-4 days till I noticed a difference but I could tell immediately. Prior to spraying I couldn’t go outside without bug spray on and now I have had zero mosquitoes.

While they are on time and come I feel like it takes longer then 4 minutes to service my house. I know they were only there for that long as I looked on my ring doorbell to see exactly how long they were there to do the job. Yes he did show up at 8 and leave at 816 but spent more time waiting to see if I would answer the door(was at work) then servicing my home. Not only that I have contacted the branch manager number 3 times to get the quote for my mouse problem as it’s been 3 months now and still haven’t heard back. It’s always the same response when I call saying they will reach out to the person that came out to inspect it but I never hear back. I’m highly disappointed and the only reason they get 3 stars is they do come when they say they will.

I'm unhappy about the fact that the salesperson over the phone said that the annual agreement (6 extra visits at $90 a piece) could be cancelled at any time, and then the technician told me that it could not be cancelled once he arrived for my appointment... This seems like a sales tactic to get them in your door, be aware! Although, I was very pleased with the technician and the service provided.

I called on a Thursday and they were able to come by Saturday morning. They have me a 2 hour window and they arrived within 30 minutes of the earliest time. Called 30 minutes ahead. My review is immediately following treatment for our fly infestation and I hope our wonderful and positive experience continues. Our exterminator was friendly and very attentive. I was impressed on how much I learned and immediately saw results. We discussed all our issues and solutions and I feel like he was at our house providing treatment inside and out for a fair amount of time. I am very happy with how this process has gone from booking on a Friday and receiving treatment on Saturday.

The branch manager, Michael, even came out a few days later to do a follow-up inspection. There are a lot of shady bug companies out there, but Orkin (specifically Branch #617 that assisted me) is not one of them.

We have a box elder tree in our yard so we get tons of box elder bugs in our house and orkin does the absolute best to make sure none get inside the house. :) along with the wasp nest we had, they also took that down too. We bought our house this past December while we were still in Texas so didn't get to physically see the house. While replacing the flooring and doing upgrades we discovered the house had a mouse problem, so we called orkin. The guy that came out was very nice and respectful, but when we called to schedule the appointment they said they would remove the insulation and we told them we would replace it, however they only remove insulation from the attic which we did not need, only the walls. Not super impressed since we paid for the service and didn't get what we needed.

We had such a wonderful experience today with Jaime at our home in Waconia. He was thorough, explained the process to us, and was patient with our questions. If we were rating based off of just the experience of working with him it would be 5/5 hands down. We are only giving a 4 because our original appointment was scheduled for 8am and Orkin rescheduled last minute and a technician wasn’t sent out until 3:30. This isn’t the technicians fault but this was a frustration of ours at the time since we purposefully chose this company because they could see us first thing in the morning. There was more affordable prices and options elsewhere but we chose here based off of when we were quoted to have someone here and unfortunately we didn’t get someone here when we were told we were going to. Luckily for us, the technician you sent was remarkable. He was one of the most personable people I’ve met in the industry and you are all very lucky to have him. He deserves a raise! I had a really bad experience last night with mice being in my apartment and early in the morning I called a company that wasn't Orkin because they had really good reviews from former customers but their response time was terrible. In fact they were supposed to call me back to set up my service. However they were taking hours to call me back and I didn't have time to wait for them to respond as I really don't like mice and freak out every time I'm around one. So I needed something urgent that would respond to me right away. Orkin did just that! They were extremely professional. I did call a little skeptical because of what I previously experienced with a different company and I wasn't sure about their business but when I reached someone they were understanding of my situation and didn't treat me like I was an annoyance or problem for them. They heard my story and responded right away. They let me know upfront what to expect and the price range for my situation. They gave me details and let me choose the time that they should show up. When they showed up, the service was great. They made me feel human and understood my situation and how I felt about it. In fact the (Daniel) the person who came to service me explained things to realistically and put himself in my shoes. It didn't take him long to figure out what was going on and he explained everything to me which was understandable. He did what he could for my building in my apartment, as there are other tenants here with me and they were coming from their apartment to mine, to help me get rid of the mice and also explained to me further what I could do to prevent and protect my home further. I really appreciated his help and definitely will contact Orkin again in the future whenever I have pest problems. Orkin has become a support for me with situations like this because what they do as a company and how they service people really shows in their work. It is very much appreciated! Thank you.

Last fall we had mice entering our home and thought we could eliminate them ourselves with traps. When that didn’t work, we called Orkin (recommended to us by a friend). Our representative is prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. He noticed two areas of our home exterior where mortar was broken and allowing the mice to enter. He filled the spaces effectively until we can permanently patch them in the spring and we have not had any more problems. I was impressed enough to sign up for a monthly service to also have them eliminate the pests that tend to show up in the spring/summer. Based on my experience the last four months, I highly recommend Orkin.

UPDATE: I was contacted first thing the following day & Ben, the service technician cordially & promptly arrived to provide treatment. I understand that communication can get a little skewed, but happy to now (hopefully) not be sharing my home with unwanted guests! Way To Go Orkin on quickly rectifying a situation! Thanks so much! Hmmm... I cannot rate the service very well at this point as a technician would need to have provided service to rate! I had an appointment set for someone to arrive between 12 & 2pm today ((Rick). I received a call at 1:45pm from a different technician (Micheal) stating that he was double-booked & could be out later or he would call me back to see if another technician could do the service... by the way, he had the scheduled time as 1-3pm... really?? After 30 minutes, I called HIM back & he did let me know that someone would be here between 4 & 6pm. Great...so I thought! I then received a call & voicemail from Ben (as I knew I’d be working during this time) at 4:15pm stating that he was at my home, knocked a couple of times & rang the doorbell but no answer so he was just going to get started... Mind you, I have a Purple house (unmistakeable) and it doesn’t have a doorbell!! Yep, he treated the wrong house. I understand that “things happen”, but this was just so many THINGS! Please help ASAP as I tried to call back to reach a technician but you were closed - would love to get someone out here early tomorrow if possible! Thanks! D Higgins

Just when you think your mouse problem has been solved... good thing I have an Orkin contract. They came out and did another assessment (at no additional charge) to ensure any potential entries were plugged. He found a couple of areas (missing dryer vent flap and a finger hole in the top of a sprinkler system cap) that needed to be fixed. A quick trip to Menards and a few bucks later should do the trick! It's good to know that Orkin is just a phone call away if additional issues arise. (April 2019). Very professional and thorough. He even checked my outdoor patio cushions for signs of mouse nesting.

The service has been great, particularly these past two years when I requested the service switch from spraying the chemicals inside the home (baseboards, lower cupboards, wall corners, etc.) to spraying the chemicals outside along the perimeter of the home. We haven’t had rodent trouble since then, whereas, we continued to have rodent trouble when they sprayed the chemicals inside the home. One issue has recently occurred. For some reason, during their service these past few months, they have sprayed each window of the home on the outside. This has left white, unsightly foam stains on both corners of each window. I am not about to add window cleaning to my list of chores anytime soon. Orkin should take care of these stains and wipe them off after each service. I will be contacting this company to clean these window stains and to switch from spraying onto each glass window to spraying the outside corners of each window.

Inspector was very nice and, I think, thorough. Set up a plan for services for our commercial business, which I signed on June 26. Plan included quarterly spraying, plus bait boxes for mice and an under door sweep to keep critters out (these last two were to be a purchase item). Three days later (6/29), commercial applicator came to do initial spraying (which was effective, by the way). He apologized that we were put on his schedule on short notice, and he did not have the bait boxes or door sweep, but would make a note of those. That same day, I sent payment for the spray, and also contacted my initial Orkin inspector and notified him that the applicator did not have the bait boxes or door sweep, and we would be needing them. Received no response. 120 days later (July 10), I sent a "second request" email, and again have heard nothing. It has been more than a month later, and there has still been no follow up by Orkin to my two emails. Seems Orkin is more interested in signing people up than in following through with customer service. I'm thinking, since Orkin has not fulfilled the original plan, then I am under no obligation to do so, either. I received a response to this review from the owner saying they would follow up on this and get me the bait boxes as soon as possible, adding "We don't do business like this." Well, apparently this is VERY consistent with how they do business, because it has been another THREE WEEKS since that response, and I still have heard nothing. OH ... except that I got a statement for payment for the next scheduled service treatment. I plan to cancel service before that scheduled date.

I'm amazed at how quickly the services are performed in and outside my home. Like...20 minutes? Is that all it takes for inside and outside - setting mouse traps, treating doors and windows? Makes me a bit skeptical, but we'll see what happens when spring turns into summer, as far as insects and mice.

I really liked our service guy Tyler that came out however, when we called the service center they quoted me prices but never mentioned a contract for a year ! We were a little disappointed in that since it’s a rather large fee! I would’ve liked to go with a 6 month or three month minimum but this wasn’t allowed! We have been using Orkin for about 1 year with no great results for mosquito and Asian beetle control, our two main issues. When I talked with our technician about our concerns he replied that sometimes if the chemicals are applied before rain they aren’t as potent. And then he proceeded with the application as it began to rain... Also, that doesn’t really explain why there haven’t been great results for two summers. It has helped with interior spiders and bugs, although we still got some ants this spring.

In the subsequent years Max has been replaced twice (as techs get promoted or move on). You have the solution to your problem in your home, like dangling a carrot, then the price is changed. Time will tell if the service was worth the price switch.

Jamie was a great tech. I was really nervous about having someone come treat our (massive) flea problem, as we have two cats and I was worried about toxicity. I love Orkin. They are very good at what they do. I pay for the standard pest control which is close to $45 a month. They are supposed to make regular stops to spray every other month. However, if I ever have an issue, I call them and they come out at no extra charge, and they handle it. One thing I don’t appreciate about Orkin is that sometimes they email me to schedule a regular appointment. If I don’t catch the email and confirm or reschedule the appointment, they will consider my silence as a confirmation of the proposed appointment time and show up when nobody is home. It’s kinda dumb.

BUT BUT BUT......................within LESS THAN 1 HOUR of leaving my review the Branch Manager, Mike S, called me & offered to come out to North St Paul on his way to Eagan from Apple Valley to do the service....hich if you are from the Twin Cities you know during rush hour is not a pleasant drive....Shortly after the orignial tech, Chris, came back after the office texted him. He was very apologetic & understanding saying he would have complained also He did a VERY thorough job, and told me not to feel bad when his manager showed up also because he would have complained also. I think the communication issue was with the Atlanta office. But if you live in Minnesota, I can tell you I feel like we really got the MINNESOTA NICE treatment from TWO Orkin employees. And I am so so grateful they were both so helpful and accommodating.

The actual service call was great, the tech was thorough and very informative. I’d give him five stars, but had a notable schedule issue and so gave an overall of four: I didn’t receive notice for this appointment, it was apparently sent as some sort of IM or text. I still have a huge issue with a system that just chooses/sets a time without any confirmation from the customer, this used to happen with them via voicemails as well, the IM thing is supposedly an upgrade to that. A service company can’t just leave a message and then have their tech show up if they haven’t confirmed that the proposed time will work. This system is so frustrating that I may discontinue their service because of it. I would really like contact from the company to discuss what can be done to remedy this.

I looked them up on the internet. The information online was scary as hell. I couldn’t tell if it was bed bugs or not! The 4th of July holiday was 3 days away and I had company coming to my house. I couldn’t get an Orkin tech to come to my house until the day after the holiday. Also, they didn’t come but instead called to ask if I still needed someone. That was not ok! I called and complained. They rescheduled for the following day. It was a LONG week and emotionally draining. I don’t have bed bugs but I do have PTSD from the entire experience.
