Reviews of MAD Fitness

Love MAD Fitness! Can't say enough wonderful things about all of the trainers. I have consistently trained with Sue for the past 6 years but have also trained with Eve and Rhia! You'll get fitness knowledge, accountability and a demanding workout! I started to see Sue due to severe migraines and neck/back issues. Over the years my focus has been to reduce these issues, while building strength in my core! Still working on all of this, but with the words of encouragement and accountability I continue to improve each session! Thank you, MAD trainers!

A friend and I have been going here for a couple months for personal training. FANTASTIC! Eve has been great with us and our old bodies aches and pains. She is very knowledgeable and through her guidance we are feeling much stronger and healthier. Do your future self a favor and make the investment.

Best workout ever, love these fun and challenging classes! Instructors know their stuff and help customize your workout. Highly recommended!

I have been working out at MAD Fitness (classes with multiple instructors & personal training with Eve) for 3-4 years now. I am athletic and I like (demand!) a hard workout, but I also have some previous injuries that act up every now and then and require accommodation, sometimes unexpectedly in the middle of a workout. Every time something like that happens, the lead instructor/trainer is immediately ready with an alternative move or exercise so I don't miss a beat, even in a class with multiple other people.
The other thing I really like about MAD Fitness are the other clients in the classes. It is a very friendly, non-judgmental crowd. Every class has a broad spectrum of ages and abilities and we all get a legitimately great workout. I'm constantly impressed with how the instructors/trainers are able to structure classes and workouts that are challenging for me and anyone else in the room, regardless of ability or strength level without anyone feel segregated from the rest of the group. It is truly a great community of people and I'm so happy I found MAD Fitness!

In addition to being an adorable mother-daughter local business, they are very skilled trainers. Workouts are balanced and varied. And it's affordable.
I hope the daily 6pm class comes back!

MAD Fitness makes me strong! After five years of classes a couple of times a week, I'm in better shape at 68 than I was 10 years before. I've been taking Zoom classes since the pandemic started and it's been almost as great. Sue even loaned me some weights to use at home, and with those and some resistance bands, she has devised workouts that get the heart beating and the sweat flowing. If you're thinking about it, don't be afraid to give it a try. Everyone has to start somewhere, and there's no better time than now.

The teachers/trainers at MAD Fitness are skilled, knowledgeable, encouraging, and enthusiastic! They help make exercising fun, give helpful feedback, and work with each person to accommodate injuries or issues. I can tell they really care about us!
The fact that it's a small gym helps promote a feeling of community with the teachers and the people I'm exercising with that I haven't experienced at larger gyms. During the pandemic, classes are on Zoom, and since we can all see each other on the screen, and the teachers still give us feedback, I still get that small community feel.
About seven months ago I committed to doing at least two classes per week, and often I've done three. This past weekend I swapped out my cold and warm weather clothes. I tried on some pairs of pants that last fall had been significantly too small on me and had been in a box labeled "too small pants." Now, they fit great! I was so surprised! Never in my life have I gone down in clothing sizes; I've always gradually gone up, which was frustrating. I also have a few pairs of pants I wore last fall and winter that now are too big, which has also never happened before. I changed the label on the box to "too big pants." What a triumph!
This is clear evidence of how my doing MAD Fitness classes has made a difference. I've gotten stronger, too! I had never done any regular strength training exercises, and I used to feel intimated by weight machines and bored by free weights. Now I use them regularly and feel comfortable doing so. (Well, until the pandemic... No weight machines right now, but Eve and Sue have lent out dumbbells and cables to keep at home). I've realized that lately I've felt pretty satisfied with how my body looks, which is also a new thing for me. What's more, I generally feel more confident!

I've been going to MAD for a few years now. When I worked part time i went 3x a week: one training session and two classes. I felt amazing. Now, back to full time, the only thing i seem to manage is one training session per week. But those sessions with Eve are a lifesaver.
The classes are rigorous and completely scalable to your fitness level. The personal training is always tailored to your needs. Just as valuable: I am constantly grateful for the community and connection i find there. You guys rock.

Have always loved MAD Fitness - Sue and Eve have created a great community that allows everyone to work at their own level, and Mary Duke consistently finds new ways to challenge us with her online classes. I also want to give a big shoutout to a couple of their newest class additions. Wednesday and Friday morning at 6am in the studio with Kasia kicks my b... every time (in a good way). If you're in the mood for something different, the Monday evening belly dance class with Rhia is a blast (no skill required - I'm living proof :).

I highly recommend MadFitness. First off, Eve and Sue talk to you about your ability level, any injuries, any goals, concerns, etc., etc. Second, the classes are small and designed for you to get out of them what you put in (with some pushing, if needed). And because Eve and Sue know your abilities, they know how to push (or not push you too much). Third, the workouts are varied enough that you don't burn out on doing the same thing over and over. Fourth, the other people in the classes are always nice and fun to be around.
MadFitness has really changed my thoughts on working out. It doesn't have to be about being the biggest dude in the room. It absolutely can be about functional strength, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle while having a busy schedule. Highly recommended!

I started at Mad Fitness to try and counteract years of sitting at a desk. AND it’s working! It’s been challenging in a fun way and Sue and Eve just won’t let you hurt yourself… which is pretty cool. They used to come over and tell me to do this or that differently or use a lighter weight, or do a different exercise. Now, I don’t need that so much. Progress! One thing that makes it easy is the flexibility of scheduling if you buy a package. You can go as many times as you want and swap days if your life gets crazy busy. The other day we were talking about why we came to the class and I jokingly said, “I don’t want my kids calling each other and saying, Mom fell and can’t get up, it’s your turn to go over”, which is kind of true. Try putting your socks on while standing on the other foot. I couldn’t, and now I do. Little things, but they sure add up. Oh yeah, low back pain…GONE.

Really nice little studio across from the Co-op, run my a friendly mother-daughter team who know their stuff and teach fun but hard classes. I've taken a few and my wife has become a regular. The hour goes by super quick doing functional movement exercises with all kinds of weighted equipment (not straight-up weightlifting/spnning/aerobics if that's what you're looking for). Classes every morning and evening, plus a new yoga class one night a week. Well worth checking out!

This is a great little gym. It has dedicated coaches and a variety of classes. None of the fancy-pansy equipment that a fashion-gym would have but it's complete with the true stuff you want to use. If you are thinking of working out with a coach, this is the place. There are group and individual classes. Highly recommended!

Dr. Evil always leaves me in pain. (The good kind from a good workout.)
