The staff is nice and this location is very clean. I also appreciate how clean and accessible the locker room is. There are handrails throughout the bathroom in the locker room and the last stall even has a sink. The equipment works great! My only qualm is that the area with the TRX doesn’t get AC and is extremely hot and tough to workout in.

Great workout. A little older and more used than the gym in kemps river crossing. Compared the two within a few days of each other. Kemps River is a tad bigger and cleaner. There was a lot of competition for machines at the Holland location. Didn’t experience that at all at kemps river. If you have to choose one go to KR.

The gym is surprisingly well maintained compared to what you might expect for 10 bucks. Staff always seems to be actively addressing things as needed and the overall cleanliness is impressive. Rare gym where the locker room doesn't smell horrific. Only comment is the paper towel dispenders for wiping down machines could be restocked a bit more often.

Equipment is seriously older here. Spinning bikes . . . Just forget about it. I guess i was spoiled at the other locations with newer equipment. On the other hand, 24 hours is nice.

The first time I went in I was nervous as all get out. Bryan really helped me get over a lot of my anxiety, so kudos to him! That being said, most of the staff are pretty nice. They even have trainers should you want some professional help. This particular location is open 24/7! (Holidays not withstanding.) The atmosphere is super chill and casual. The temperature of the place is pretty agreeable. And bless whoever came up with the giant fans keeping the funk levels down over the cardio area. They have water fountains complete with stations to fill your water bottles at if you need it. The variety of equipment this place has is amazing! If there's something my little out of shape body could do they have it there. There're things I am still unaware of their purpose for. But if you ever want to know what something does there are little qr codes all over that you can use in conjunction with the app and you'll get little run downs on that piece of equipment that you scanned the code from. There are stations all over the gym for you to disinfect your equipment between uses too, which makes me a bit more comfortable considering the pandemic and all. The locker rooms are neat and tidy (or at least the women's one was, can't speak for the men's). There are tons of lockers in various sizes. The room itself is super spacious. My favorite part is probably the black card lounge with free use of the massage chairs and hydro massage beds (if you have a black card membership). After working out, getting a massage is just heavenly. There's even tanning beds if that's your cup of tea. Side note, the creepy looking purple hand chairs are oddly comfortable? So if you've got to wait for someone and you don't want to do it while exercising at least there's a comfy spot to do it.

I live in Norfolk and I always go to the Planet Fitness on Little Creek Road. I take classes with T - absolutely love his classes. He has helped me so so much! My sister asked me to join her at the Holland Rd for a change. I was reluctant to try a second trainer. Gerry, however, was amazing! What a great workout. So personable! So thorough! I now plan on making my way out to the Holland Rd location once a week.

I have been a member of PF for over 10 years. This PF has been my home gym since around 2015. I cancelled my membership about 10 months ago due to an injury and moved an hour away. I finally have figured out how to schedule it back into my life! Love it! Inexpensive and has very nice equipment.

Nice place. Very clean. Great staff, very knowledgeable. My go to gym. Haven't had any issues. Has everything I need. Now if you're hard-core in weight training might not be the best place for all your needs; but you could still benefit from this place with all the equipment. Great price for all you get.

Good friendly staff. Very helpful Clean environment. Only problem is the towels and hand sanitizing stations often are empty, multiple ones. When they should be out checking them more often than they are. It happens here and there on some days but NOT every single day which is good. They just need to keep up on that a bit more other than that everything's great. Lockeroom and bathroom stalls are exceptionally clean as well!

Not a lot of people at 1230 a.m. 1 o'clock., so that was nice. Only planet fitness open in the middle of the night...but they do close from 2 am to 4 am for cleaning. Tons of equipment, the staff was really nice & most everyone wore masks...only saw 1 people working out together..2 guys without masks...but machines are taped off so that only every other machine can be worked out on in order to maintain social distancing. Lots of cleaning stations so you can disinfect the machines, plus big spray bottles of hand disinfectant too. Overall it was worth the 20 minute drive one direction. Hard to get motivated 2 go... But I have never said I wish I had not gone to the gym...its the getting there that's the hardest part. Afterwards you feel less stress, a sense of accomplishment & confidence knowing that despite the pandemic you can still safely exercise.

This gym is awesome! People who work here are really friendly and professional! Have been here for a few weeks, and can't think of anything bad! I have there black card and it's awesome to work out then get a good massage afterward! They also have tanning beds too. Place seems to stay clean too. Love it here!

This gym is always clean, equipment seems to be well maintained although perhaps a little dated in some instances - The Kempsville rec center ellipticals are vastly superior for example. I enjoyed the times I came here.. What however really annoyed me was when I moved out of the area and time came to cancel my membership. They will not accept cancellations over the phone nor will they online. You either have to go into the facility (which given I have moved is not an option) or send a certified letter? Seriously - snail mail in this day and age. It's things like this that mean I will never consider rejoining if I am ever living near a planetfitness again. EDIT*** Thanks for the response. But you missed\ignored my point that you make it inconvenient to cancel. Why cant we cancel over the phone or send in an email - or even better via the online membership portal... Hell - even fax would be an improvement.

I am new, I switched from a private center to here because of the hours mostly, and the cost. So far I love it. It's clean and that fan is amazing while on the cardio machines. The air is heaven sent, I hate being HOT while working out. The machines available are great, and the staff is super nice. I do wish on my first visit someone had asked if I wanted a tour, but everything else has gone so well it's okay. I'm sure if I had asked they would have given me one. So far I am very happy with my switch!

Called to change my 'home gym' initially the person on the phone seemed polite. I asked for information about my account because online it was saying incorrect. Their response was to change my keycard number to my phone number. I was audibly upset because I had just gotten the keycard to work with the app and the gym system. Again, the response was polite but now condescending. " You can change it back when you go in." Thanks. Then I find out they have the wrong zip code in my account as well. So I can't change it online. I ask them if they can change it on their end. OK, just stay on the line. Alright, it's done and over. Then a snide condescending remark about how" Everything has a solution and YOU don't need to get so angry." My tone changed. I didn't yell, cuss, insult or berate anyone. This sideways, sarcastic, toxic attempt at a lesson in positivity was unnecessary. I replied, "I can accept that's your opinion." which garnered me a "Fine, Stay Mad." I'm frustrated and disappointed. Called to fix one issue and now I have another.

I like this location. However they do not have the same equipment as other locations 🤔Massage chairs and beds only allow 5 minutes at a time. Its unfortunate I have to make 3 trips to front desk just to get another 5 mins. There has to be a better way. Hopefully you will give immediate attention to this matter.

I love this gym. I have had nothing but, positive results from the staff. They are always friendly and welcoming and you can't beat the price. I am not sure what other bad reviews are speaking of with cancelling memberships but, my son went off to college and I had no problem cancelling the membership. They are very helpful and you can't beat the amount of equipment at this place. It's awesome!

Fast service. I called to freeze my membership and they responded quick. The other gyms are much complicated when it comes to dealing about cancelling/ freezing your account, but Planet Fitness has an excellent service. The people that work there are friendly compare to the other gyms that i used to go to. The place is clean and bright. Love the environment there.

This location is not open 24/7. It's located in a strip mall, behind DQ. They have most of the same equipment I'm used to using, but no torso rotation machines. The employees are nice, for the most part. They don't seem to know how to address black card users from out of town, every time I came I was treated differently, one time I stood at the counter for 20 minutes. Ugh. This location has some very lazy employees who would rather play with their phones in the locker room then to do their jobs...ladies. This location is also very dirty. Dust is EVERYWHERE.

I love coming to this gym when ever I'm in town. However I work on cruise ships and am only home for a month at a time. I've become a member and canceled twice before because I go out to sea for months at a time. Is there a way to just suspend a membership so I could resume it when I'm back in town? Today was my first time at the Windsor Oaks location and the staff were so friendly and helpful, introducing me to a new safety policy for the tanning beds and making sure I knew where everything was! Every day no matter what time I go to do the 30 minute circuit there are people just sitting on the machines half the time just playing on their phones and clearly not following the stated rules. Any time I mention it to the staff they do nothing. A man was sitting on a machine in the circuit room loudly talking on his phone while two different staff members gave tours to other people and at least three other staff members walked by and saw this happening after we said something to the guy at the front desk. Nothing was done about it. I don't think it's asking too much to have staff enforce clearly stated rules.

If you want to have a truly accepting place to work out, with tons of machinery so you never have to wait and a helpful staff to show you how to use some of it, this is the place for you! And their trainer Sharifee is amazing and will put you on track to a healthy lifestyle. I was able to lose over 20 lbs and be taken off high cholesterol medications in my 9 months here, and wouldn't leave if it weren't for having to move to my next duty station. I like this place other than if you want to use the 30 minute room. I like to use that room when I really don't have a lot of time to workout. Problem is, seems the employees do no monitor it like the signs state. I have never seen an employee come in and make sure people are using it correctly. There are always people sitting on the machines doing long sets or bouncing around all out of order instead of moving with the red/green lights. 90% of the people in there are never doing what the room is intended for. So, it is pretty annoying and I don't feel like it should be up to me to explain this to every person sitting on a machine. People get attitudes and become defensive when you say something to them. I end up giving up and just using cardio equipment to avoid confrontations over and over. Other than that, the place is clean and huge with tons of equipment and the staff is friendly. Just wish the 30 minute room situation would be fixed. Although I am not sure what could be done about it other than having a designated room monitor since people can't just follow the instructions.

Everyone is friendly the people who work out teach you a thing or two about using the equipment and you do meet and make alot of friends among the way. Everyone is here for a reason whether its for toning up, losing weight, or building muscle. Everyone is here to be motivated. I will eventually go to other plant fitness's but for now I'm sticking with this one. !!

Can't beat the price, or the convenience. I have never waited for a treadmill even during peak hours. For $20/mo and no commitment, I can hit any location. One is convenient to home and the other is convenient to work. 24 hrs means I can never use 'the gym is closed' as an excuse.

The good- the place is clean and taken care of, anytime something is broken it gets replaced quickly. The lockers are free and always available. Bathrooms are clean and they have changing stalls. There are 3 showers. They have a trainer you can schedule time with to setup a workout plan for free. There are lots of cardio machines and tvs on several channels pointed at them. The bad- to many members: the parking is terrible for the amount of members the gym has. In the hours after work between 4-8 its to busy to use the weight machines and sometimes even all the treadmills are taken. They only have one 20 lb kettle bell thats near impossible to get. They also dont do any fitness classes here although for the price its expected. To sum it up. If your just looking for cardio you will probably be ok but if your into serious weight training and you have to go in the afternoon then you will have to fight to the death to get use the equipment you want if you can find a space in the parking lot.

Equipment set up and atmosphere is pretty much what you will expect from a Planet Fitness. Although I would be careful about the filtered water tap, both times I've refilled my water from it I had gotten sick.

I have been a member at several big gyms in the area over the years. I do miss the movie rooms & the variety of classes at the bigger gyms. However I really like the price at Planet Fitness & it's great to have tanning & massage chairs included for only $20/month. Plus it's great that a can bring a friend for free every time.

There isn't a fitness center better. People keep calling it a gym..it isn't. The staff is friendly..could use more barbell racks..maybe one or two more..but its still awesome. Depending on what time of day you go..you can see some of the most BEAUTIFUL WOMEN Virginia beach has to offer... I love to workout..but would never join a gym to see a bunch of lunk dudes walking around patting each other on the tails and calling each other bro..lol. If that's what you are looking for..go somewhere else. As far as atmosphere...cleanliness..PF rules. Could use a track..or small pool..either way..I love this place.
