Ghent Fit has helped me to gain strength and energy over the past two months. I am especially thankful for my trainer Ashlee who is very knowledgeable and cheers me on! I always have fun while getting a great workout. Josh and all of the other staff are super nice too. I highly recommend Ghent Fit. It is worth giving them a try if you want to Get Fit!

Awesome people and knowledgeable trainers. They really customize your sessions to what you need and your goals. I’m so glad I decided to join their gym! The entire staff is friendly, and do a great job of working with you from scheduling to the actual workouts. Ghent Fit was a wonderful experience! All coaches were super knowledgeable and very accommodating when scheduling workouts. I worked with Heather mostly but also with David and Savion. All were great in helping me reach some goals of mine and prepared me to keep going on my own! The nutrition consultation with Sarah was helpful, but it would be even better to have tailored meal plans and maybe some before/after photos to help show progress. Overall it was great and I’d go back again should I ever feel the need for more personalized training in the future. Thanks so much! Kate

So very pleased with everything Ghent Fit has offered me to date. I have been a member for close to 4 months now and I am seeing results in the mirror and in my over strength and endurance. The trainers are accommodating and attentive. My goals were weight maintenance, increase in strength, and learning how to better take care of my body. I strongly believe that the staff is just as committed to my goals as I am. On my most recent training session the trainer asked (as usual) if I were feeling any discomfort or soreness and I relayed that my right calf was more sore then usual. My trainer took a look and noticed that there was some swelling around my calf and ankle (something I had dismissed). After a quick consultation with another trainer they suggested I reach out to my doctor "just to be certain that it wasn't something more". I took their advice and scheduled a visit with Urgent Care the next morning and they referred me to the ER for a possible blood clot in my leg. The ER ran some tests and they did discover a blood clot - something potentially very dangerous to my health. Thanks to the staff at Ghent Fit and their ability to recognize a potential issue, I was able to treat the problem. Literally a life saver! I recommend Ghent Fit for your personal training needs - they really do care and even after only 4 months, I sincerely consider the staff among my friends. Whether you seek weight loss, strength building or just an improvement to your health, you will be in good hands. Trust! 5+ stars all day!

This is not your average gym in the best possible way. Every person who walks in the door for training will be assessed individually and trained with their goals in mind. The trainers and owner are wonderful people who genuinely care about their clients and have great passion for what they do. Your personal well-being is worth investing in and this is the place to do it!

Wow wow wow!! For years I have been trying to find a trainer that was not only affordable, but accommodated my needs and made my confidence come back. They are so amazing to work with - everyone is always in SUPER high spirits, whether it’s talking over the phone or face to face in the gym itself. What I love most about them is the way the gym is set up. Not only is it a smaller gym to make you feel more connected BUT you get your own area with your own equipment to work with!! Who wants hundreds of people staring at you while you’re working out? Who wants to wait on equipment? Nobody! And here you don’t have to worry about that. The trainers are absolutely amazing, everyone in the building is!! All in all a great place to start your journey of healthiness, confidence and happiness at. I cannot wait to continue the journey with GhentFit :))

I am so happy that I found ghentfit! I have never maintained a fitness program for very long throughout my life. At 59, I decided I wanted to commit to getting and staying fit. I’m not getting any younger lol and wanted to enjoy my retirement and be around to see my grandchildren grow up. I immediately felt at ease and welcome there. The one on one personal training in private rooms is a perfect fit for me. I train with Jaron, and I cannot say enough good things about him. He is thoughtful with my training program, adjusting as needed to suit my needs and goals while keeping it challenging. Ghent Fit provides an amazing one-on-one experience. The trainers are super knowledgeable, creative, and tailor every workout to your individual needs and goals. Each workout is logged in their proprietary app so you get tons of data on your performance over time, which makes tracking progress so easy and manageable. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

I have recently joined Ghent Fit and I am thoroughly enjoying my first experience with personal training. My personal trainer Laurie and the rest of the team here have been so welcoming! The personal workout rooms are great for anyone who doesn't want to feel judgement at a public gym and their bathrooms are personalized to where you can comfortably shower and head straight to work right after your session. They keep their equipments clean and really accommodate to your well being. Laurie created a workout plan for me that will help me reach my goals whilst taking my pain areas into consideration. She is helping me strengthen those muscles rather than throwing weights at you and calling it a day. I am looking forward to many more sessions here!

I just started going to Ghent Fit, and I already LOVE IT. To have someone coach you throughout each session, definitely keeps you motivated. Not only that, but the one on one training feels way more comfortable than going to your typical gym where it may feel uncomfortable working out in-front of a whole crowd. Ghent Fit listens to your goals, and plans your sessions around those goals. They also have a great app to track all the progress you make, provide nutritional information, and so much more. I've dealt with many issues knowing that they stemmed from my weight. I also knew that a guided program from a more knowledgeable person would help me on the right path. At Ghent Fit I have the support system I need to build the right program for me. We started addressing flexibility and mobility issues to prepare towards building towards my goals. I've had a month of sessions at Ghent Fit and wanted to share my experience so far. I've also been a member at a local bouldering gym for a few years now and I found myself in a serious performance plateau due to my own limitations in strength and mobility. Still love that place but wanted to find somewhere I could dedicate time to make improvements on my performance and found Ghent Fit online. Very thankful I did because I've beaten my climbing plateau in just a few weeks of working with them! My strength has improved (like adding 65lbs to my deadlifts) as well as significant improvements in my flexibility so I can get into some of the creative positions that more challenging climbing routes require. On top of top of the benefits of getting fast improvements in myself, I get to work with the team at Ghent Fit who are amazing and extremely friendly! I've always felt awkward going to a traditional gym but at GF I feel like people are genuinely happy to see you and say hello. I've been training with James and he's been nothing short of awesome. I'm a bit of a nerd and ask a lot of questions and he's always got a thorough answer and seems so passionate about the "why" for exercises and movements I'm doing in my program. Josh was 100% right that he'd be a good trainer for me when he matched us up. I've also met with Sarah to discuss nutrition and it was so helpful to hear her approach and how they don't encourage any crash dieting or crazy eating restrictions. I've been a lifelong fad dieter and the slow and steady approach is so much less stressful. Can't recommend these guys enough, and I'm looking forward to more sessions in the future!

Great facility, awesome approach and training team. Custom 1 on 1 attention. Professional, well trained and up to date. We didn’t even talk about my specific situation and recent history with physical therapy - they spotted these problems right away, and designed a plan. I didn’t have to research the problem myself and make requests or debate. I’m not used to that. Attention to detail, and illustration of excellence in a craft turns me into a raging fanatic. I’d rather spend my time money here than anywhere else.

Now, 7 months later, I couldn’t imagine where I’d be in my fitness journey if I hadn’t joined. Each trainer takes time to learn you and how your body works. They are super flexible to crazy hectic schedules and will bend over backwards to make sure you’re getting the A+ treatment! This sounds like the basic essentials of a gym / private training, but Ghent Fit takes it to another level by making you feel at home. You can tell that these trainers love what they do, and they all are so excited by your own success, and truly are committed to helping you achieve the goals you want to achieve! I absolutely love this business! I looked so many places for a physical trainer, tried out a few, and could not find anyone who could help me reach my weight & body goals. However, I came across Ghent Fit & requested a phone call & was immediately called within an hour. Josh was very friendly & funny, but also knew exactly what I was looking for. He matched me with the amazing Laurie & she has been pushing me since day one! Everyone is so friendly, they make you feel apart of a family! The gym has personal workout rooms so that you & your trainer have one on one sessions without interruptions. I love this because we don’t have to share equipment & I have all of Laurie’s attention. There’s an app the trainers use to input all of the workouts you complete, along with the weight used and number of reps completed. There’s also a little video, which shows you how to complete the exercise, just in case you forgot what your form should look like! You’re also able to track your progress and log your food intake! I’m ranting now... you get the point! lol I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I have been going to Ghent Fit for over a year. It has worked out really well for me. I find that if I have an appointment with a personal trainer, then I really do exercise. The trainers at Ghent Fit are very good. I've worked with Sarah the most. She knows all about exercising. She is good at pushing me to exert myself, but not so much that I don't want to come back. It is uncanny how well she chooses the amount of weight for me to use in each exercise. Never too heavy, or too light! I don't know where she gets all of her energy. Thank goodness some of it is contagious. Yet she isn't overly hyper. She makes the sessions very pleasant. She doesn't over-do the conversation part.. She keeps me moving. She records every exercise and every rep I do in an iPad, so she can show me the progress I make. If I have to cancel or reschedule a session, both Sarah and Josh are very understanding and flexible. The facilities are always clean. I like having a private room when I work out. There are only three exercise rooms, so the place is never over-crowded. The bathrooms are clean, and there is plenty of room to change clothes if needed. Ghent Fit provides healthy snacks for free, and really good filtered water! There is a part of me that wants to hold back with my enthusiasm because I don't want the place to become too popular! Josh and Sarah do a wonderful job. Check them out when you get a chance. Ghent Fit fits me and my lifestyle to a tee. Chances are it will work great for you too.

Great experience! Private rooms are amazing...highly recommend it. Toby has really helped me out...he’s a great guy, very knowledgeable, and will change your life! I toured the new Ghent Fit and couldn't be more impressed with the facility. Unlike large, warehouse-sized gyms, Ghent Fit has private work out rooms. The staff is very courteous and helpful. I was really impressed that each trainer has a degree in fitness and national training certificates. Where else can you find that? I recommend Ghent Fit to anyone looking to get in shape.

During the winter I am a competitive Ski racer on a Ski team I work with my trainer Jarrett who helps me gain the strength I need. During the off-season we work on reaching my goals. As a man in my 60’s I want to work with a trainer who would maximize my fitness while making sure I do not injure myself and I certainly found such a person in my trainer and gym co-owner, Toby Hartwell. He has a gift for reading people and balancing the challenge and support I need. His sessions are motivating and fun. He has taught me so much about diet, exercise and muscle development. This gym is also a family.where acheievements are celebrated and the staff is gracious and truly interested in you as a total human being. I came to Ghent Fit Norfolk with shoulder and upper back issues. I had pain when I slept, because I'm a side sleeper and always slept on my left side. Because of this my left arm, shoulder, neck, and upper back were always sore and eventually I started losing sleep because of it. I had a few sessions with my trainer Rob who worked on my trouble spots with exercise and trigger point therapy and I feel brand new. Even though I'm 25 years old, I still knew that if I had this type of pain now, I wouldn't be able to live with 3,5 10 years down the road. It would only get worse. I can't recommend this place enough. Everyone is so friendly and the owner Josh went out of his way to accommodate my busy work schedule, listen to my needs and pair me up with a trainer that could help. This place is awesome!

My trainer was able to identify my shoulder issue that was contributing to my back pain within the first 15 minutes of working with him. He gave me a customized exercise routine and explained the science behind my problem. He ran my through my routine and I felt an immediate reduction in pain and an increase in mobility. The facility is spotless and the private training rooms provide for an environment where you can focus on your workout and not on being self conscious. I’d give them 6 stars if it was possible.

I enjoyed my time here even though all my goals weren’t met and that’s entirely on me. I still left stronger than I was when I started just not in the sense that I would have liked. Otherwise everyone is friendly and easy to talk to, the place is very private with a variety of equipment in each room/space and the music was great to workout to. My only advice would be to revisit your goals regularly to make sure you’re staying on track with what you seek to accomplish.

After turning 40 I wanted to get in shape for the long term. With all the craziness of family life I knew for me that I needed a place that started early and would help hold me accountable. I found both of those things at Ghent Fit and a lot more. The trainers have strong Exercise Science backgrounds and some are even Physical Therapists in training. This was beneficial to me so we could work around a bad knee. The owner is very professional and always involved when he needs to be. The gym has both weight training equipment and high end cardio machines. The cardio machines are available for use at all times. There are two showers onsite with towels and toiletries. The place is always immaculate. Since joining I have both lost weight and put on muscle. I have been happy with the results and feel that I am on a sustainable path to good health. Regarding COVID19 all staff wears masks (i do as well while training) and there is hand sanitizer at all locations.

Good lord, the clouds have parted and the sun is finally shining through. When a person goes through trauma, on various levels, we need help. I found these guys and gals and not only have they demonstrated genuine empathy, they have brought me back to life. This is not an exaggeration. With massive amounts of stress, it can destroy the body. Well, that's me. Just getting up and walking down the stairs was just stone-cold depressing because the pain was immense. Just after three sessions with Rob I am, not kidding, FLYING down the stairs. My body feels like it can function again and now emotionally and physically ready to really catapult my way into fitness again. Rob sure does know what he is doing. He very clearly explains the what, why, when of things so my body can heal in order to move forward in a smart, effective way. He is so right. He is FUNNY, well mainly because he laughs at my jokes, that's important:) Seriously, if he can make my tauma-filled body and soul in such a short period of time, three sessions, can't wait to see how things will go in the long run. Worth every penny and I wake up not depressed anymore; good sleep, no more achy body, and the quality of life has greatly improved. Bottom line, I appreciate these people.
