Khino is the best of the best when it comes to changing your life. Khino’s leadership ways as a trainer teach u not to depend on his guidance but leave u with all the knowledge u will ever need.
13 years ago when I first stepped into a gym, Khino witnessed me doing a squat horribly, out of personal worry about me hurting myself he helped me. Showing me form etc.., I then decided to higher him and after our 3 month contract I was hooked!
13 years later weight training and overall fitness is just a way of life thanks to his leadership. This guys the real deal!

Phil is awesome! I had 12 sessions with Phil, and coming in for training to supplement martial arts it was great to work with someone who has an extensive background in multiple disciplines. Phil is very knowledgeable, understanding and accommodating of different needs, and very open to try out different exercises and really play in the gym. If you're looking for a dynamic workout with an emphasis on holistic physical growth this is the place to go

Khino is an approachable, patient and consistent trainer with a great sense of humor. He leads an amazing team and program. You can really feel the love at this place. The club is so welcoming and safe. The positive vibe is strong and the community is real. Training with PPT has been a balm for all that ailed me, a healing experience; mind, body and soul.
I especially appreciate their intention to create a safe space for queer and non-binary folks. Not even a whiff of toxic masculinity here.

One of the best decisions of my life! I've always struggled with exercising and intimidated by going to the gym, fear of being judged, lack of enthusiasm and excitement. I contacted Nick and he called me the next day. I explained to him that I don't wanna get overwhelmed, pushed too hard and get bulky. He listened very carefully and answered all my questions in detail and with patience. long story short I've been going to the gym every week since then and man oh man I have been enjoying it. I am training with Derek and he's like the most humble awesome trainer I've ever seen. He's extremely knowledgeable and makes sure you're enjoying the exercise. As cheesy as it sounds I LOVE going to the gym now. There are many different options financially and you can chose the one that fit you most. The gym itself has everything you need. The showers and lockers are super clean and you don't have to rent a locker like many other places, you can borrow a lock from the front desk. There is a lounge area which is very cool and the other day I just sat there working before my exercise session, enjoying a free cup of coffee. Another option they have which I am using as well is a small group training session 3 times a week and honestly it feels the same as personal training session. They focus on your work constantly and help you through it. I like the 1-1 sessions because I would like to discuss each exercise with Derek and sometimes I'm really tired or soar, so he updates the sets accordingly. Just go to a free session, they won't force you to make your mind right away AT ALL. even after a month they ask if you want to continue or not. Hope anyone who reads this would give them and most importantly yourself a chance.

I've worked out with Carlee for two years and so much fun! She challenges me and also keeps me accountable to my fitness goals. Nothing is ever routine, she keeps it fresh and inventive. I've had a couple of soreness/sensitivity issues and she was able to easily modify and use her knowledge to help me get a great workout without hurting myself. This was the first time I have pursued personal training, and the experience has been exactly what I hoped for. I needed some more consistency in workouts, needed some accountability, and hoped to learn more about weight lifting. I've always been into running, and not been excited about weight lifting, so I was excited that Nick tailored the workouts to my desires, while still exposing me to aspects of weightlifting I was missing. Nick is an all around great guy, and very easy going, and I found his personality and training style to be really great, and supportive of my goals. I had the opportunity to train with the other trainers in this group also, and had great experiences with all of them. I love my experience with Portland Personal Training! I’ve been consistently going there for 2 years now and plan to keep going. The owner, Nick, I’ve trained with for a year and a half. Nick is professional, diligent, cares about his staff and clients and ensures a productive and enjoyable experience. Most recently I’ve been training with Carmen who is an absolute delight! I am always happy to see her on the mornings that I train as she has a beautiful smile and is upbeat and warm. Her skills as a trainer are terrific and she keeps things moving and also fun. I highly recommend Portland Personal training. All the trainers I’ve met are really nice people; it just has a great welcoming feel. Highly recommended.

I started training with PPT about 4 or 5 months ago with my fiance, and I could not be more impressed. I have done gym memberships before off and on again for years and had minimal results. We work with Khino for our one on one session, and attend the group sessions on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The Trainers are kind, and knowledgeable, and the prices are very reasonable. Its a great community and the other participants are not "meat heads" or grumpy gym rats, but instead every day folks looking to be fit just like us. I absolutely encourage you to give it a go.

Alina is a great instructor and I really enjoy training with her as well as the results I'm already experiencing. I feel great and always look forward to the varying challenges she offers during our sessions. I've learned a lot from her as she's created, guided, and helped me develop my workouts, all the while demonstrating versatility and patience in her teaching. Her experience in competitive boxing makes it very rewarding to be learning the fundamentals of the sport from her, which I've found to not only be great cardio exercise but a great form of stress relief. Going to the gym is generally at the bottom of things I enjoy doing. I have never been particularly sporty or athletic. However, I was starting to get out of shape and really wanted to make healthier choices, so I signed up with personal trainer Sean O’Neill through Portland Personal Training and Weight Loss. It was more money than I wanted to spend as a single mom, but it has definitely been a worthy investment. In three months I lost almost all of the weight I wanted to lose in total, and am staying on track to achieve my other fitness goals. It’s very hard for me to be self disciplined about working out, but to have to show up and be accountable to someone, that’s what does it for me, so this was a good fit.
Sean is an excellent trainer. He is incredibly patient, and works really hard for his clients, researching and expanding his practice according to the needs of each. His workouts are never boring or routine. He always keeps things interesting, focusing on all areas of the body, and incorporates a variety of techniques using a holistic approach. He also seems to know exactly where I’m at during each session and adjusts accordingly. He’s great at pushing me to challenge myself, but not so much that I want to give up and throw in the towel. I have been extremely pleased with the value I have received out of my workouts, and would highly recommend Sean’s services. I just signed up for another three months.

I wanted to try working with a trainer to help me get back into working out, and I'm so glad I picked Portland Personal Training! Sean is an excellent trainer with a wealth of knowledge on diet practices, stretches, exercises and a lot more. He was patient and helpful with my posture related back pain and really helped me get my diet back on track, he even wrote me a meal plan on my request! Having a trainer really helped me be more accountable and motivated me to show up for workouts, Sean was also really friendly and fun to talk to so that helped make an hour go by quickly and painlessly (most of the time ;). I'd recommend Sean to anyone for their personal training needs without a doubt!

She’s made every session I’ve had with her a fun experience and has worked with me in specific areas I need work on with no pressure and absolute ease. She’s very personable and patient, which definitely eased my anxiety of coming in to something new like this. She’s shown the aspects of a great personal trainer that I’ve always thought of them to have. I can't say enough great things about Nick and Portland Personal Training. I'd assumed that we would just work on improving my fitness level, but Nick really worked with me to create a program that took into account my everyday life -- food selections, sleep, stress, etc. Nick is a great person who genuinely cares about his clients, and I've been very fortunate to train with him. (We also got my treadmill pace up, which has been awesome!) Highly recommend these guys. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself.

I took group training from Portland Personal Training for over a year and it was one of the best investments I ever made. Although Nick hasn't been my trainer for several years (I moved and the gyms where he trains aren't as convenient as ones near me), I still apply everything he taught me about physical training and diet, and the knowledge continues to pay off by keeping me fit and healthy.
Nick Davidson is everything one could ask for in a personal trainer. He's very knowledgeable about physical training and diet, and makes sure he understands his clients' goals and needs so he can tailor exercise and diet regimens. Plus he's a terrific person with great social skills. If it ever works out that one of his training facilities is convenient for me I'll hire him as a trainer again in a heartbeat.

Nick and his team are fantastic. I have been working with him for almost a year now. He really pushes me to be my best, carefully crafting workouts that are fun and intense- which for me is perfect! He has a great attitude and really knows how to read my personal moods and what kind of day I am having to bring me to my best energy level. Gym training is really fun with him, making sure that I work hard for both weight training and cardio. But he also planned lighter days to help recover the body whenever need be. I reached my goals that I had set for myself for weight and inch loss, and in the process of training with him, I definitely felt stronger, with improved stamina and focus. SO WORTH IT! I came to Portland in February 2021 and was in desperate need of getting back in shape and I had no motivation to do it on my own, so I looked up gyms with personal trainers and this one had the best reviews. I signed up and was paired with Aly. We met about 3 times a week. She is great with communication, she really motivates you when those reps are getting hard, and she really cares about her clients. I was in school and my schedule was always changing (thanks COVID 😕) and she was more than willing to work with me. She even gave me some great recommendations on food, shops, and sights in the area since I was new to Portland. Oh! And she also put together some workouts for me to do on my own time either at home or at the gym on days that we didn’t meet.
The gym itself has tons of different equipment and is very clean and organized. There is plenty of space, although on busy days you might have to wait your turn to use something. Unfortunately I never attended any of the classes they host but they have plenty to chose from! All of the other staff that I met were very friendly as well, always greeting me when I came in and saying goodbye when I left. It may seem small but things like that make me feel like it’s my family ☺️ I wish I could continue going to this gym but unfortunately my job requires otherwise.

Nick and Portland Personal Training are SO great to work with. Nick helped me in the process of muscle recovery from a broken bone in my foot. I had lost almost all of my muscle strength and Nick not only helped me gain it back, but got me even stronger than I had been before. His sessions and his motivation were truly a life saver during that time. He is intuitive to individual needs in training sessions and is great at pushing you to do your best and go hard. I have had other experiences with trainers in the past but after working with Nick, I wouldn't ever go to any other trainer! 10/10, would highly recommend!!

I started at 270 lbs and began a weight loss journey, only focusing on my diet. One day Nathan asked if he and I could start meeting once a week and work on a plan to start my gaining muscle journey. Something has to replace all the fat I had lost. So I began lifting a few weights, doing some body weight strength training strategies and in between, I’d run on the treadmill. One day in our weekly meeting, I do the warm ups and squats, etc and I’m told to get on the treadmill and do a 0.1 mile run. It was something small like that. I looked at him and said “ I actually like running..” He looks at me with a look of epiphany and said, “Let’s go with that then” and since then, Running has been my passion. I’m not obsessed with it but when I need a challenge, that’s my #1 focus. I do love to run! 115.00 lbs lighter, running and feeling like a whole new person. I couldn’t have done any of that without Nathans encouragement and giving me a plan. Where I’m not quite to my final goal, he has been with me through the entire journey and I really appreciate all he has done for me. I highly recommend Nathan Tyler for a personal trainer!

I’ve worked with PPT for the last...yikes...almost ten years! I couldn’t recommend them more highly. I’ve worked out with Carlee Roe for about six months and she is fantastic. She is able to work around my schedule as well as any injuries I have. Her workouts are tough but doable and always new. She’s not a trainer that just puts things on Repeat. So, if you’re in the market for a trainer and you need someone who can actually work with your schedule, then you can't go wrong with Portland Personal Training & Weight Loss.

The workouts are always just right as they adapt my needs to the exercises they tell me to do. After losing weight on my own with diet and mainly cardio, I wanted to build muscle and incorporate strength training. I’ve recently switched from evening group to daytime group and I’m working with Carmen. She’s upbeat, knowledgeable, friendly, and always smiling! Our small group includes people of varying ages and levels of fitness. Carmen is adept at making sure each of us is working out at our optimal level. The place is welcoming and friendly, without high pressure. I can’t recommend it enough! And there’s plenty of parking since they’ve opened a second parking lot. I have been seeing Carlee Roe at Portland Personal Training since last August though due to traveling and then the pandemic, I didn't have access to training from January through June. Now that the gym has reopened in Phase 1, I have started back for the past few weeks. Carlee and the staff at Lloyd Athletic Club/Portland Personal Training have been following protocol for making the gym and equipment safe for us to use. The club is requiring everyone inside the building to wear masks and to sanitize their hands before beginning to work out, stairways are one direction, and all equipment is sanitized before and after working out during training. Since racquetball is not being played right now, the courts are being used by the trainers and clients so there's lots of space to be physically distanced from each other (there's just two of us in this court). There are hand sanitizing stations in various places in the building as well. The staff are making sure to count the # of people in the gym at any given time so that there's plenty of space and no chance of any crowding at all. I feel safe using the gym in this manner, and Carlee makes me work much harder than I would if I was doing this on my own, especially because sometimes, at age 65, I just want to be lazy. She's cheerful so it's hard to get mad at her for making me bust my butt :-)

I was desperate to get all that unhealthy, unhappy weight off my body. I had to get honest with myself that I could not do it on my own. I knew I needed to find a good, but reasonable personal trainer to help me at this point. I googled and found Nick and this amazing personal training group. This personal training is like none other I have ever experienced or heard of. The trainers genuinely care, take the time to educate, and tailor each workout to maximize the results you are looking for while keeping each session different and moving so that you are not bored and your body is constantly changing. I lost 14 lbs in the first 30 days and am now down 30 lbs since January of this year (4 mos). Each week I still look forward to my group training sessions in the gym and not dread. My experience with Portland Personal Training was not supposed to be so fantastic. Odds were against me - 63 year old 280 lbs male with some medical issues. All I wanted to do was to make tying my shoes a little easier. Then the staff at my gym highly recommended Nick Davidson at Portland Personal Training as the person I needed. It turned out that Nick, Khino and all the staff at PPT had bigger plans for me. They were on the job in regards to a plan for exercise, diet, attitude, and, most of all, remarkable results. I started a weight training program with Sean of PPT thinking that it would be a good addition for my bone strength. Almost a year later, I have found it’s been so much more. Sean’s approach focuses on posture and proper form in a way that is challenging but not at all intimidating. I really appreciate how much better I feel in every-day activities b/c of the lessons I’ve learned on how to hold myself and how to move. His workouts are mindful, goal-oriented, and truly complementary to all of the other sports-related activities that I enjoy. And besides, he’s a really great guy! 💪

My name is Craig Garrison. I have recently completed a round of training with Khino Brackeen of Portland Personal Training. The training was in two phases, a series of 1-hour workouts, 2 times per week and a final phase of 2 weeks of 4 half hour sessions per week. In addition, I did an additional hour of warm up and ropes every work-out day.
I have found Khino to be knowledgeable, responsive and sensitive to the needs and limitations (I am 72 years old) I have as well as the goals I set at the beginning of the sessions. I can state without reservation that I am pleased with Khino and the routines he has developed for me. During this most recent series I was pleased to notice that my posture improved, my strength increased, and my other fitness work improved substantially. For example, I ride 12-15 miles 5-6 times per week during the summer months. While under Khino’s instruction I have noticed substantial improvements in endurance, with my normal ride time going from 1.5 hours to 1 hour consistently.
I recommend this company without reservation. Whatever your goals are, Khino and the rest of the group can develop a program that will reflect your personal fitness goals at whatever level you choose. You will be in the hands of professional trainers that will assist you in making measurable and noticeable progress. In addition, Khino is a great guy and fun to interact with. I am going to continue to work with Khino over winter.

My husband observed and researched personal trainers carefully, before he picked one for me. I am very thankful he selected Nick, because I was 72, and had been completely sedentary for the previous 20 years! The whole family was concerned about me, but I, however, had zero interest in going to a gym.
After four years of training with Nick, I can say I’m in the best shape I ever was. (I was a nationally-ranked athlete in my teens and twenties.) I still don’t love it, but I do it faithfully because Nick inspires me to want to do it. I feel completely safe with him, because he teaches me to trust my body. Yet his attention to detail means he is always alert to any time my form slips to a less correct and less productive one. I now know the difference between just going through the motions, and getting the full benefit of doing it at the highest level.
His Health Coaching has also inspired me to embark on the “Reset Diet,” also called “the Whole Thirty.” After being at the same weight the last twenty years, I have dropped fifteen pounds in a month-and-a-half, and feel as if it will be no trouble to keep it off. I am so grateful Nick came into my life. I know I would not be at the gym a single day if it weren’t for him!

Four months ago I hired Sean to help me improve my posture. I have scoliosis and it is causing me to bend forward and left. Sean has been working with me to activate muscles that have atrophied due to not being used. (I have been using the wrong muscles) By activating those muscles through special stretching and strength building techniques I have been able to experience significant gain in correcting my posture. We have been documenting the progress with photos and it is quite impressive. I first contacted Portland Personal Training and Weight Loss because I was having a really difficult time losing weight and wanted to gain muscle and feel stronger. On advice from a friend I went to Nick hoping that he could help me train and get stronger in a way that wouldn't aggravate my physical issues (bad knees, shoulders, feet and back). As a categorical ectomorph, or “hardgainer”, I’ve historically had trouble putting on healthy weight my entire life. I began working with Portland Personal Training just over 6 months ago. I'd had 3 kids in under three years (twins) and was about 60 pounds overweight and continuing to gain. This is an excellent program. I came into PPT with neck and shoulder pain that I'd had for years, due to poor posture, incorrectly carrying children, and holding onto a ton of unspoken stress. The pain was constant, permeating my sleep and affecting my mood on a daily basis. I cringed checking my blind spot while driving. I couldn't look at the ceiling without wincing. I felt the pain radiate down into my wrists and fingers like an electric shock, or move up behind my eyes in the form of a headache. I was 22 years old when it started, and I dealt with the stress internally, finding chiropractic care a huge relief, but my muscles were constantly seized up, so whatever improvement the adjustments brought, my muscles immediately reversed.
Pain was beginning to define the very core of me. I knew that exercise had a way of "breaking" the pain, but weight training on my own would also aggravate the pain further. I couldn't even address my own pain without making it worse. I needed someone who could help me train effectively, without hurting myself. I was referred to Nick by my employers, who saw that whatever I was doing wasn't changing my situation. Nick listened to my story. He talked with me through all the different ways I'd tried to address the pain. He agreed that what I needed was supervised training, tailored to the specifics of my muscle imbalances and the fragility of my body.
What we did changed as I changed. My biggest challenge was admitting how much pain I was in every time I came in. I had gotten so used to being in pain that the last thing I ever wanted to do was to talk about it. At times, I didn't feel progress. Or, just when one muscle group released, a new pain would develop in a new place. But Nick was not discouraged. This was a fundamental part of the healing process. Nick daily tuned in to what my body was doing and was not daunted or deterred by my ups and downs. He taught me to understand these "setbacks" as normal. He taught me to know when pain should be respected, and when it should be worked through.
By the end of my time with Nick, my upper back and neck had strengthened, resulting in better posture. My headaches and radiating pain had disappeared, and the neck pain decreased dramatically as my body learned to hold itself properly. Now I feel completely empowered to continue my healing and strengthening on my own. I don't feel enslaved to pain anymore. I'm so thankful to Nick and to the people who referred me to him.

I was lying in bed one night, having just finished a Donna Burger and tots from Holmans, second bottle of wine on the nightstand. I was browsing the internet for a gaming laptop. I had a vision of myself, older, more out of shape, playing video games and becoming obese. In that moment I made a decision. I closed the tab, opened a new one, and typed in "personal trainers Portland." It was a life changing moment.
I signed up with Nick for 3 months, with my goal being to get toned and lose weight. I was around 220 lbs and not fit at all. In our initial consultation, Nick promised three things. He said that in the first month I would notice results, in the second other people would begin commenting, and in the third none of my clothes would fit anymore. He was correct on all three.
It is only now that I have finished that I realize how grueling my workouts were at the end. I knew they were hard, but Nick had allowed me to build up my strength and stamina, never pushing too much, always listening and adapting. The few times I worked with Khino were the same. I followed all of Nick's advice, including taking advantage of the group sessions to up my days in the gym to 5 or 6 a week, never balking at an exercise or set, pushing through. In the end, I lost over 20 lbs, most of that fat, and brought my body fat down to around 16%. I literally have a new, lean, fit body, and I have Nick to thank. Around the middle of the 3rd month I caught a glimpse of myself in a shop window, and saw a tall, fit, slim and confident stranger there. Now I have a hard time passing any reflective surface without having a look.
Tips- Use the book! Write down your food. I was vigilant to the point of near obsession about my food, and it was a big piece of my success. Drink water. Get enough sleep. Don't ever give up. It gets better and better.
My experience with Portland Personal Training changed my life, and I am a better person in many ways as a result. I am continuing on my own armed with confidence and skill, and am excited for the next phase of my new, fit life.

khino is terrific. I work out once a week with him. Since I started the workout I have more energy. He is very good at assigning kinds of work out that fit my needs.

I found PPT and Khino after looking a outstanding Yelp reviews. I have always enjoyed working with a trainer to keep me motivated and help with muscle definition. Khino is by far the most knowledgeable trainer I have ever worked with. I am training for my first half marathon and he set me up with a nutritional plan along with a 12 week running plan. I am down 12 pounds after working with him for 6 weeks/2 times per week. He is flexible with location/times which I also needed for my crazy work schedule. The workouts are challenging but the results are well worth it. I can't not recommend Khino enough!
