I first discovered Huffman Dance during the spring when I decided to start learning. I began taking bachata lessons on Monday evenings that were offered with Marcus. I quickly fell in love with dance and the learning process. When the opportunity came to take an intensive weekend workshop of Bachata, I jumped at the opportunity. Now I am taking weekly classes and learning the fundamentals and choreography. Elena is dedicated and hardworking and it has been a wonderful experience learning from someone who is so highly trained and committed to her students.

I’ve have gone to a few bachata group classes and one private partner class with Elena. We have learned a lot in just a few sessions, the instructors are patient and understanding, taking their time to make sure we understand each new move before moving on. I had taught my boyfriend a few bachata moves and I was the only one he had ever danced bachata with. We signed up for a private partner class because I could no longer teach him anything myself. He learned so much in just one class, and now we intend to be regular customers of both the private and group classes. He was nervous at first, but is now very excited to learn and practice more. Elena was kind and patient, which was encouraging to him, as he is very new. I highly recommend Huffman fitness.

I took a two-hour workshop with Elena recently, where we covered turn technique for traveling turns and for spot turns for the first hour and learned a bachata combo for the second hour. She did a great job of breaking everything down while keeping things moving at a good pace. While it was a relatively small class, Elena made sure to pay close attention to each participant and give helpful pointers about footwork, posture, and signaling. Highly recommend!
