I hired Coach Chris last year with the goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon. He’s been such a great fit for me. The one thing that really sets Chris apart is his level of attention he gives to each of his athletes. He’s always available and is a GREAT listener. His style is very personalized; none of his coaching is cookie cutter. I would definitely recommend hiring Coach Chris regardless of fitness level or goals.

Chris has been an unbelievable asset to training and racing. He is knowledgeable across any distance from the mile to marathon. Chris has been instrumental to bringing consistency to my running. Chris is a great run coach. This was my first time working with a running coach and I found it extremely helpful to keep myself on track with not only running but my PT, strength and activation/drills.
I initially found it hard to let go of my own training and give it up to someone else but by the end of our training together I came to trust Chris’ guidance and training plans. Chris is open to suggestions and always flexible with accommodating training changes depending on how your week and general training is going. He is responsive through the coaching app and always has his plans uploaded for the week ahead. He is also able to provide rational for specific workouts and training situations if you have questions or concerns. He will also incorporate specific strength work and other exercises if you so request. For example I requested PT be plugged into my schedule a few days a week to help keep me engaged with important prehab work. The only improvement/divergence I had from Chris’ training plans was probably wanting more track based speed work and more long runs in my training plan but this is because that is the kind of work I was used to in a build up. We did end up plugging in a few more LRs at my request and mid week tempos after a good discussion. I did not end up finishing this training cycle due to a personal health issue that had absolutely nothing to do with running or training but I have absolutely full faith that had I stayed in my normal state of health I would have met and possibly exceeded my goals for my marathon based on Chris’ training and how I was progressing. 10/10 recommend!

I used to run ages ago but have not had a coach since high school. This year I truly wanted to focus on being a runner and competing in road races and completing a half marathon in Berlin!
Chris has been extremely knowledgeable, motivational and dedicated to helping me reach my goals. His running plans are fantastic and he works with runners to find their groove.

I was a distance runner in my 20s (10 years ago) and had some success, running a number of half marathons, and the San Diego Marathon in 3:20. But hip and knee injuries forced me to take up other forms of exercise. At the beginning of COVID I decided to get back into running. I needed a better plan than winging it like I did 10 years ago, so I googled run coaches and came across Chris Knighton. He’s developed a plan that’s totally realistic, and adjusts it based on my goals and schedule. Over the past few years, a 5k was the longest race I’d run. Last month, I was able to run the Blessing, a 10 mile road race in Narragansett, at 7:10/mile, which was way faster than my expectations and didn’t think I’d get back to that shape as quickly as I did. I’m running the Black Goose half in September and the Narragansett full in October, and feel like I’m on the absolute right path with Chris’s coaching. He gives practical advice, while building confidence. He’s always available to answer questions, and meets to game plan for races so you feel extra prepared. Couldn’t recommend him more highly.

I came across a podcast interview about Marathon training with Chris Knighton and so glad I reached out...I am extremely happy with it...the workouts are detailed and easy to follow (with instructional videos), very tailored to my busy schedule/needs and the platform used, makes it easy to access and sync workouts with Apple Watch/Garmin/Strava! I am starting to train for my first full Marathon and could not be happier with my choice!
