Matt is amazing! He has a wealth of nutritional knowledge which is so helpful in learning to make better choices. We still eat what we want and go out often, but are mindful of what we’re eating. I’ve gotten more critical if the food is worth the calories etc. He understands the psychological part of eating having been there himself, it gives him credibility. In addition to nutrition he’s also passionate about transforming 😉 bodies from fat to fit through his individually tailored workouts. He’s able to pin point particular muscle groups and improve their appearance and strength. All of the trainers share his passion and desire to help people work towards being their best. So thankful to have found Transform and Matt!

Losing the weight is always tough. Knowing what to eat and not to eat , working out , ect. With 3 kids and a full time job just makes thing even more difficult but once I found Matt Barker things got so much easier. He was able to help me with food and workouts. He taught me how to manage how I eat without feeling like I am deprived. It was still difficult getting in gym time but with just the help of eating I began to see changes. He was very good about checking in on me and making sure I was doing ok and to see if I had any questions about anything. He made helpful suggestions and when I was having trouble gave me motivation to keep going. It has most definitely been life changing and I am glad that I took the leap to get help when I was having trouble doing it alone. Great space to workout with personal trainers either in individual or small group sessions. Matt barker is an awesome trainer. He takes into account diet and other lifestyle changes to help you reach your goals. He is knowledgeable about various ways to workout muscle groups so it’s never a dull session. In about 4 months time I’ve noticed fat turn into muscle and now working on getting definition. Everyone at the gym is pleasant and friendly. Would recommend this place to a friend.

I did my consultation with Matt Barker. He explained all the benefits to one on one training with their nutrition support. He really knew what he was talking about so I agreed to sign up. I knew I made the right decision when I met Becky and started training with her! I started working out a couple days a week and I quickly took Becky's advice to see results faster I have to put in the time. So I went to 3 days a week and couldn't be happier. They are great to work for my goals with and give me all the support I need. I highly recommend this gym and these trainers if you're serious about getting healthy!

I had a great experience with Transform! Matt was my trainer and he was professional, experienced, knowledgeable and very supportive in helping me meet my goals. I have worked out throughout my life but was needing a kickstart to get me motivated again and back into a routine. The whole staff is very friendly and accepting, no matter what stage you’re at with your fitness, from beginner to advanced. They also help with nutritional coaching and instruction, and combined with the exercise sessions you can really see results. If you’re someone who has trouble getting to the gym on your own, want to supplement your exercise routine with a few sessions with a professional trainer, or are just starting out and want a safe, nonthreatening, accepting and friendly atmosphere, I highly recommend Transform!

I have been really pleased with my experience here. The gym is smaller but has everything you need to get a great workout. It has a welcoming atmosphere and knowledgeable staff that are willing to take the time to make sure your nutrition and workout goals are being met and answer any questions you have. My trainer Sierra is great! She is highly motivating and pays attention to detail to avoid injury. After several months of training I am stronger then I've ever been and have seen great results.

Pretty amazing place. Meeting Sierra and the team was probably one of the best things that has happened to me. I thought I was reasonably healthy - exercised regularly (weights, hockey, running, soccer) but not feeling that great and looking for a change. Within a month working with Sierra my health had totally changed. With 3 young kids, long work hours and lots of travel, I still feel way better at 37 than I did at 27. Have lost around 25 lbs in 3 months while getting significantly stronger, more flexible, etc.
I highly, highly recommend Sierra and the entire team. She is incredibly knowledgeable, makes training fun and is a great motivator. Maybe most importantly, she always follows up between sessions to see how things are going, makes recommendations and just keeps things on track.
The atmosphere is also great, fun place to be and the entire Transform team makes you feel welcome.
I never do reviews online but I just cannot stress how life changing and positive working with Sierra and Transform has been!

With nutrition, he makes reasonable goals that are achievable while still being able to indulge. Shelby is one of the most knowledgeable trainers I’ve ever known. She empathetic, body positive and trauma sensitive. It’s possible to achieve any goals at this personal training gym! Everyone is so friendly and very experienced. I did not originally think my goal was possible to execute but with the help of my trainer, Sierra, I have made it!!!! Sierra has always helped me stay motivated and is easily reachable at any time I’ve needed her. While this can be an expensive journey, it is worth it. I have had to cut back on training days and was never felt pressured to continue or do more than I could afford which is amazing. I love this gym. GO! NOW!!!

He is dedicated to his job, and he is working towards getting results for his trainees. The level and intensity of workouts are adapted to my capability of performing them. I contacted & visited Transform a year prior to actually joining. I wasn't 'ready mentally / financially at the time that I first contacted them.
Timing is everything, as they do not always have availability to accept new clients, so I feel fortunate my timing was spot on.
One of the many reasons I liked Matt's training method/ideology was there was no 'meal prep' or 'you can/can't eat this or that'. It was everything in moderation, tracking and balance. At any time if you ask Matt a question he has the answer without hesitation. Another important reason I chose this facility was that Matt, himself, has struggled with weight and what better example to learn from, than himself. My personal experience is that you have to want it and be dedicated to your journey. I will admit, even after starting with Transform, I lost my own drive and stayed stagnate for far longer than I should have. I am thankful Matt didn't 'fire' me as he had every right to do just that. There is an amount of personal dedication one must have to obtain their goals. When I got my 'head together' and started really listening to what this man had to say I started to see results. At 55 years old now, I've struggled with menopause for the last five years. For the majority of my life I've been athletic and fit. Hitting menopause threw my mental state and body into a whole new level of anxiety ... I wasn't prepared for handling. My hormones were in check when I came to Matt, but my mental state was not. Because Matt has his own ongoing journey and dealing with his internal struggles (as we all do) he is more than empathetic and sympathetic to his client's needs and concerns. He is always available ( maybe not immediate, but eventual ) to his clients. He's as dedicated to your journey as you are. All of the trainers in the facility seem very dedicated to their clients and process. I am now down 25 lbs and have more muscle than I've ever had in my entire life. Thank you Matt, for your continued dedication and efforts to helping people better themselves. Kudos to all at Transform Scottsdale.!

Sierra is an amazing trainer. I worked with her for 8 months and saw such big transformations. She has incredible intuition and knowledge of perfect form, caters the workouts based on the individual and watches you like a hawk so you don’t slip. I began training at Transform in early 2022, and it’s been the most rewarding experience in my short time there. I predominately work with Becky (owner) and Matt Barker about 4 days a week. I cannot express how fantastic my experience is there. This isn’t your typical ‘big’ gym, where everyone does the same movements or offers generic advice about nutrition & tries to sell you on a weekly plan. This is a facility that offers personalized training in increments of 30mins, 45mins or 60mins. This is a facility that will check in on you next day or even same day, they ask about your food, your everyday lifestyle to make small changes to reach your goal. They (Becky & Matt Barker) sincerely care. As soon as Becky saw I couldn’t do more than 2 days a week she instantly sent me information for Matt Barker to see me, because he has classes & it worked with my schedule. The classes are incredibly small & you still get that individualized attention. Knowing that I can see more than one person there & that they communicate about me amongst themselves to create a better plan.. well, I cannot think of a bigger flex than that. The gym is clean, the atmosphere is entirely welcoming, it’s not crazy crowded, towels aren’t an extra charge like other places, there are showers, they offer packages that are affordable for every budget.. it checks all the boxes.

Matt is a one of a kind trainer-I work out 4-5 times a week on my own when I trained lower body with matt, it completely kicked my a**!!!!! When training with Matt, he made sure to pay close attention to the motions of the exercises so that I could really feel my muscles working. I cannot begin to explain the impact training at transform has had on my life already. Clean gym with top of the line equipment. Compared to other trainers it is very affordable considering you receive both nutritional coaching and personal training. As someone who grew up in athletics and being on a variety of eating plans, working with different trainers my body has gone through a large series of physical highs and lows at different points in my life. Before I had come in to see Matt and the team I was at my heaviest weight and most unhealthy point in my life. I am not finished with my transformation but can say after 2 months am down 28 lbs.
Not only does Matt and the Transform team help with nutrition and exercise, they coach you on why each aspect is important and the direct impact it has on your body. Everyone is so inclusive and beyond supportive no matter what point of your journey you come in to visit them.

I have been working out at Transform for about 4 months. Tom O. is absolutely amazing! When I first started with him my main goal was to get back in shape after having a baby a year and a half earlier. Instead I have had a transformation in my attitude, self-confidence, and fitness level. I have been a runner for over 25 years, and the training I have done with Tom O. has helped me increase my speed and distance much more quickly than I ever could of with running alone or working out intermittently by myself. Meeting with him twice a week has not only improved my fitness level but has kept me motivated and on track the other days of the week to work out and stay healthy.
The things I like most about Transform and Tom O. is that the focus is really on high-quality intense workouts that deliver results. He is able to focus on my weaknesses as well as build upon my strengths to really make an individual program that is getting the where I want to be. He has been flexible with his schedule to make sure that I am able to make my training sessions every week regardless of my own work commitment, which has made all the difference in the world to keeping the on track.
Lastly, and most importantly I enjoy my training sessions with Tom O. He has a great personality and is completely committed to his client’s success. I cannot recommend him and Transform highly enough

Underground Fitness was PERFECT, and Tom was the most amazing trainer! I can’t say enough wonderful things about transform! They are truly interested about your fitness goals and they educate you on what your daily caloric intake should be by breaking down the macronutrients for you! The trainers clearly invest their time in your progress through fitness and nutrition unlike any gym that we have come across.
Becky is an exceptional top notch trainer!!! She listens to your goals and focuses on your problem areas and desires. In just 1 and ½ months, I’ve noticed my arms transform from flabby to where I can see the striations in my arm muscles. I usually leave the gym soaked in sweat and it is truly remarkable how I’ve physically transformed. My husband can definitely see a difference and I am no longer embarrassed to wear tank tops!
Not only is she a stellar trainer, but she really guides me to make better dietary decisions. I use the fitness app (my fitness pal) to track my daily caloric intake and it’s been a huge help in making better decisions. Becky makes changes accordingly to my intake or encourages me to stay on the path to my goals. She also gives me suggestions on how I can fulfill my nutritional goals every day.
Becky is also very likeable and has such a great energy about her! She makes it really fun to train with her and she pushes you with words of encouragement. Becky is always so positive and most importantly, she believes in you!
My husband and I truly love transform! This is the first gym that personally listens to our goals and helps us meet our needs by customizing each regimen per body type!

I have been to other Personal Trainer's before. I have gone to enough to get a general idea of what to expect. Before meeting Matt, and visiting Underground Fitness I was completely expecting the "car salesman" pitch. I expected to walk into the gym during my first free session and workout for maybe 35-40 minutes then be taken to a big old desk and sold a pile of packages I could not afford.
My expectations were shattered, and Underground Fitness broke the Personal Training stereotype for many reasons. First, I explained to Matt my personal goals (shed the fat, tone, and look good for my wedding that was 6 weeks away). Matt listened and was excited to take on the challenge. Second, Underground Fitness offers two free sessions which includes a nutrition plan breakdown. And can we talk about the nutrition plan? Without revealing their secrets it is COMPLETELY attainable and you do not have to buy special meals or starve yourself. Third, Matt Hoodie, the owner, is a walking success story. Matt has been where most of us have been and currently are. He lost a mountain of weight and has shaped his body to what most of us believe to be ideal. His education in Dietetics and Exercise Science offers much more than meets to eye because he can explain his motives behind certain things and teach us what we are doing wrong.
Overall, I will never go anywhere else for my personal training needs. I still have a long road ahead of me, however for the first time ever after meeting a trainer I felt like my goals were achievable in within reasonable reach.

I’ve been training at Transform Scottsdale once a week for 30 minutes with Rhianna Scolli since the beginning of 2019. I regularly go to barre and spin classes, but wanted to supplement that with some personal training to target the other areas of my body that aren’t addressed through barre and spin. We mostly focus on back work, and I’ve noticed a huge difference in my back strength and posture over recent months! Even just going once a week, I’ve noticed a difference and can handle a lot more weight than I could when I first started going. Rhianna keeps things fresh by switching up the exercises and coming up with all kinds of creative and fun ways to work me out. They have all kinds of equipment and weights to work with. Rhianna is a stickler for good form and helps me to ensure my body posture is correct when I’m doing each exercise so that I get the most benefit out of it. She also got me started tracking my food and calorie intake so that I can make more informed and healthy food choices. Most importantly, she asks you what your goals are so that she can tailor the workout to what you’re looking for. In my case, I’m not really looking to lose weight and she recognizes that. The other trainers seem really competent and nice. I highly recommend Transform Scottsdale for personal training! Many of their customers have experienced significant body transformations. Rhianna will work your butt off!

I have always been active and for most of my adult life, yet even with being active, I was on the chubby side.
Around 10 years ago I changed my entire workouts and eating routine; on my own without a trainer or advice from fitness professionals. I dropped close to 30 pounds and would describe myself as a “thin” person, keeping the weight off until this past year. Introduce Marriage, 3 moves and the normal hectic schedules of life.
Slowly a few pounds crept back on. Even though I continued to be active and work out, I got soft. The dreaded word!!! SOFT!!
I sought out a gym where I could get personalized training with REAL ACCOUNTABILITY.
I found Transform and specifically Tom Welch at the beginning of May. He discussed my history, my eating and my schedule. He shared an eating plan (calorie/macro counting) and we agreed to train 2 times per week (one hour each session) added onto my 2-3 times per week HOT yoga.
At first I was resistant to the idea of calorie and macro counting but dedicated myself and committed to using the MyFitnessPal app to monitor my meals.
At first I wasn’t seeing any changes on the scale yet Tom’s regular texts when we weren’t together and our chats during the workouts kept encouraging me to stay on track, to not lose sight of my long term goals and to keep at it, was exactly what I needed. He was never pushy or bossy and instead was / is the right mix of accountability coach and “boss”.
As of today, the scale shows just a few “pounds” lost yet I have shrunk and I mean shrunk. I fit into all my clothes (some are even loose in certain areas) that used to be tight, so tight I couldn’t wear them. I’m muscular and strong. It’s a huge visible change in just 4 months.
Tom has shown me not stop looking at the scale, to trust the process of “fat loss” vs weight loss!

let me share my personal experience about the personal trainers, I have been working out for last few years but not regular like On and off , But had a very bad opinion about the personal trianers as I have seen many of my friends and fellows joining a personal trainer in the gym I used to trian. I have never seen them transforming for years and most of the trainer I have met have no idea of the body style or the nurition thing they have to suggest. All they say was eat salads and low on carbs , which made me stay away from the personal training stuff, but I was more into fitness. Then I met SAIDEEP my buddy and my workout partner now. I have seen his transformation and was really suprised then I asked him to get an appointment with TOM, that decision of asking him for appointment changed my life now. First thing I liked about TOM and Transform was they dont ask you to cut down or change your diet completely or the quality of the diet they restrict only the quantity of fat you eat per day , that impressed me alot that I can eat my favorite food and even I can transform.From past 6 month I have been training with TOM, I can say the best trainer ever. I could not be happier with the balanced plan Matt has created for me. He has provided nutritional education and challenging workouts. I can't wait for my sessions each week and more importantly have seen quick results without being on some crazy unsustainable diet.

First off, let me say that I DO NOT work with 99% personal trainers.The reason is because they usually take a weekend course and all of a sudden they think they know everything. That being said, the trainers at Transform have impressed me and are in my 1%. What I love about them is ALL of them have an education with a bare minimum of bachelors degree. They are not the average, they understand the SCIENCE! Whether you are looking to get rid of some unhealthy weight, get that bikini ready body or that shredded six pack, the people at Transform will do exactly as their name says--Transform. Don't settle for just any "personal trainer." Come here, let them explain the science to you and watch the weight come off.

I’ve been at Transform for several years now. You Can’t go wrong with any of the trainers there but I have to say that by far my Favorite is Matt Barker. I can’t say enough good things about him. He has taken the time to get to know me and my goals. He’s there to cheer me on when I am doing well and to help me get back on track when my husband and I make a small detour. He genuinely cares about his clients and what’s going on in their lives within the gym and outside. He is a fantastic trainer but most importantly he’s a great person. I couldn’t recommend a better trainer
