If you actually need to know more than 166 five star reviews here’s what I can add. My wife and I joined Journey Training a year ago to prep for our wedding. We both have always been active, consistent gym goers, my wife even played collegiate soccer. But there is a HUGE difference between going to LA fitness four times a week and working with a true pro like Tanner. In three months my wife and I each lost 20 lbs. Never done that before. We looked exactly as we wanted on wedding day and that would not have happened without Journey Training and Tanner. Beyond just getting results (which alone should get you five stars), Tanner and his team have created a community at Journey, encompassing of all backgrounds and fitness levels that really makes you excited to go work out. Workouts are always challenging, sometimes even grueling. But everyone that shows up loves being there because it’s a great community of people that want to better themselves. My wife and I do a hybrid approach. Tanner kicks our butt twice a week in personal training. Can’t recommend that enough. And we also do group training which is fun - a great combination of healthy competition and camaraderie. Can’t recommend this place enough, so grateful we found Tanner and Journey Training. It’s changed our lives. No other gym experience will ever compare.

I love Journey training. It is a family oriented, holistic workout facility where they train you with exactly the necessary skills to be a healthier and more mobile body no matter your age or stage of health. I like the app that goes with the membership so I can check myself in, choose the classes I want, and preview the workout. The instructor’s are patient and knowledgeable, and I feel safe and comfortable in the environment. It is a blessing to have this unique training center near me.

My 11 year old daughter who’s a gymnast has been going for some extra core strength workouts for a few months and Tanner is amazing. He pushes her to do better, the way he interacts and keeps Ava engaged with his high energy is out of this world. She looks forward to each workout she has with Tanner. Journey Training is amazing. I am 37. I had never worked out consistently in my life and never had the desire to work out. I was always jealous of people who actually desired to work out. I joined Journey 9 weeks ago and my life is forever changed. I start my day every day at Journey and love it! I love working out now for the first time in my life! The trainers are excellent. Tanner is the best instructor, hands down :) He can also personalize your routine based on your limitations and is great at picking up each individual’s capacity. Best thing is he really cares for you and will work with you individually to understand your goals, come up with a plan to accomplish that and follow-ups with you regularly if you don’t show up . Before we joined Journey Training last year we have tried all other small to big fitness centers around the area, but none of those had as much impact. I'm not normally someone who leaves reviews, but after the incredible experience that I have had at Journey, I had to let others know. I have been a member to many gyms throughout my life, but this is the first place that I have really felt I had to hold myself accountable. The Journey members made me feel comfortable right away and apart of their community. I really like the system that Tanner has established. The competitive nature of the gym, to push your own limits (at any experience level), is what drives me to show up day after day. Tanner is a great coach always eager to help and take time w/ you to understand what you are striving for and will get you there, and further. The work-outs will challenge every level of individual, be it athlete, be it a normal person. Tanner designs them to be very intense and diverse at the same time. Gyms normally have a knack of making you feel self conscious or something of an outsider to the clique of regular iron pumpers. Not Journey Training and certainly not Tanner who is both warm and welcoming and keen to see you meet your development goals. Tanner is the perfect guide providing group or one on one training with experts on hand to help with nutritional advice too. My fitness levels and strength have increased and I am down almost 30lbs in just 6 months. If you are fed up with just being a monthly fee to big box gyms - come and try somewhere that cares about your journey - they even have a creich for the little ones!

My experience at Journey has been nothing short of exceptional. The staff are knowledgeable, professional, & work hard to listen to their clients and help them grow & push their fitness boundaries. As an Occupational therapist with an exercise science background, knowledgeable staff was a critical factor for me. The members are friendly & it is easy to join the group sessions, though I highly recommend their personal training sessions as well. Corporate gyms & fitness centers around the Valley strive to create this environment for members but Journey’s mission nails it in a way I have not experienced before. I've loved my time at journey training. I came because I had pain in my knee for a year and after working with Tanner for less than a month I am back to my normal self ! They teach you proper form early on and walk you through the workouts if you aren't sure how to use the equipment. The classes are always fun and every trainer is extremely knowledgeable and helpful! I've never really found a good fit for group training classes, but my time over the last few months at Journey Training has changed the game. Fitness classes at Journey Training don't feel at all like typical "cookie cutter" classes I've seen/experienced/heard about at other gyms but are instead intentional, fun and personalized. There's plenty of space in the gym, and Tanner has been great at pushing me when I need it and helping me pull back when I need it. I would definitely recommend checking this out for group fitness or one on one personal training!

Hello everyone! Please take time out of your day to read this if you are in the East Valley and are looking for gym that meets you where you are at. Journey Training is not just a gym - its a community of passionate, ambitious, caring people. It's a place where you can walk through the doors and have people meet you where you are at. At JT, they are seeking to care for you so that you not only thrive in a physical sense, but in an emotional and mental sense as well. When discerning if you're wanting to join the tribe, Tanner Allen is so thorough in asking what you want out of your experience. For myself, had come off a college baseball season where I had only gotten four at-bats all year, riding the bench, not because I couldn't hit, but because I had suffered a shoulder injury that had inhibited my throwing for over a year. Tanner investigated my situation, asking me every question he needed to know the answer to in order to get a feel for the situation. He even used his PT training background to check shoulder and back mobility, and he built a well-rounded training program for myself to help get my shoulder back and continue my strength training. Over the summer of 2021, all of my power lifts increased and my speed and agility did as well. I got back to fall training for my collegiate baseball team and had all of the confidence in the world, thanks to Tanner being such a dog and hype man the whole summer for me. I led the team in balls hit over 90 mph (probably thanks to Tanner's strength program, as I did not change anything about my swing or approach) and I have my shoulder back. Tanner referred me to Insight Physical Therapy (shameless plug) for some additional rehab as well. On top of that, I found such a great community at JT, and met tons of amazing, kind people, where eventually I was going to their powerlifting competition, packing goodie bags for homeless people, and doing life with them. One of the cautions people have with gyms that offer a wide scope of options, whether it be athletic training, powerlifting, CrossFit, or general wellness like JT does, is that although these gyms do offer so much, they aren't necessarily able to do all of them well. For JT that COULD NOT BE FURTHER from the truth. Tanner actually does his research, as I have caught him in the act several times haha. If he doesn't know how to help someone, he will go call people, and find a way to learn the best method for them, and he will do it excellence. I hope you can believe me, because I wouldn't be taking time out of my hectic student-athlete lifestyle to write such things if it were not true. Tanner, thanks for being such a homie, and I hope to rejoin the tribe when I move back to AZ for Christmas for Christmas break. I love everything about Journey Training. The owner and my trainer Tanner makes it so much fun but my favorite thing about it is that he is so passionate about helping people meet their goals, get stronger, be healthy, and have fun while doing it. He takes time to make sure that your technique and form are correct. He always has you warm up and stretch so that you don't get hurt. He celebrates every victory and gets everyone involved to cheer each other on. He incorporates strength and cardio in each workout and gives you time to master and perfect what you're learning. Everyone at the gym is nice and at different levels in their fitness and it's not intimidating it's more like a bunch of friends chillin' and working to be their very best.

Journey Training is truly a gym like no other. It has completely changed my perspective on what going to the gym means, what getting fit can do for you and how to approach my health more holistically rather than just one facet at a time. Tanner is by far the best trainer I've met or had the pleasure of working with. At 29 I came in with some chronic injury that Tanner approached with the perfect knowledge base and skill set to mitigate, and within 3 months of his careful coaching I was doing movements I never dreamed of (snatch, hand stand push ups) having overcome shoulder bursitis. Beyond that, the other folks in the gym are all there to better themselves and foster a positive, motivating environment. Goodbye silly gym scene with people subtly flexing around looking to get noticed. Have zero experience or knowledge of the gym or getting fit? DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF GROUP TRAINING AND FUNCTIONAL FITNESS!! For years I have been active by hiking and training at gyms by myself and while I was able to stay healthy, I struggled to break through my fat percentage and strength plateau. I joined Journey at the beginning of this year and since then my life has been filled with gains! The coaches are very patient and take the time to teach form to avoid injuries and even check at the start of class to see if anyone is injured should there need to be modifications. I have lost fat, gained a ton of knowledge on nutrition, gained muscle and most importantly gained a solid gym fam that is happy to see me and encourage me through every workout! Not your average gym. Having done Crossfit in the past, this is probably one of the most welcoming and friendliest gyms I have ever been to. It genuinely feels like family and is a "judgment free zone." If you have never worked out or are nervous about group training you're going to want to give Journey Training a try. The coaches are super helpful/knowledgeable AND are always willing to take extra time to explain a workout, movement, progression, or technique. Again, if you think you can't do it or are second-guessing your ability to meet your fitness goals, come to Journey Training, you WILL NOT regret it. I have had a great experience with Journey. Not having much gym background the classes were a great way to get into fitness. The classes are intense but a lot of fun as well. All of the trainers are friendly and are great at assisting with learning correct form with the different weightlifting movements. The group training seems very rounded with strength training with free weights, cardio and mobility focuses.

Great gym, friendly environment and very motivating! Tough workouts, but you will see results...I did my first pull up working with Tanner along with other personal records. I have continued with him, and the workouts, even after my race was completed successfully as he instilled discipline in my daily routine. I love Journey Training for many reasons – 1. A good balance between strength and flexibility is always maintained. 3. Tanner is a great trainer for many reasons – one, he is not judgmental and works understanding my limitations. With his knowledge of human physiology and body dynamics, he is quick to point out the errors in form and correct them. Sometimes I wonder if he has eyes at the back of his head as he can spot the errors while helping others :) :) 5. There are always enough challenges, be it is fat loss or squats or rough terrain or something else, to keep one focused. I lead a busy and stressful professional life, but I strongly feel that I am able to manage the stress levels in my life with the physical, mental and emotional conditioning I am put through at Journey Training. Okay... I’ was only an aerobics gal, and never an athlete! Never did weights before! Omg , never even did push ups or pull-ups or squats which is only “body-weight!! My bone density has improved, my fat % gone down, my endurance up, and I actually have some definition! I am close to 60 years of age, and feel comfortable being around everyone there! We literally have become like family and certainly friends!! We have fun there! Literally old and young! Never intimidated; but quite the oppposite! Everyone encourages me and cheers me on! Training with Elidia at Journey got me through after 2+ years of injuries and health issues! I've been active all my life but after various issues kept piling on I was left unsure how to get back to 'me' again, how to train safely, and to do all the things I love. Elidia worked with me to set up a program and schedule that fit my needs. She checked in every session on how my body was feeling and adjusted accordingly. This was my first time trying personal training and she taught me a ton about proper warm up and form (again, this from a lifelong athlete!) The only downside is she's such an awesome, interesting person you might just want to talk the whole time so remember you're there to train 😆 I didn't do the group classes offered by Journey but I saw the community they built through them; Tanner and his team are definitely doing something right to encourage their members to incorporate fitness into life as a really joyful, participatory thing which makes consistency a breeze.
