I find this to be a decent location. The machines are in good working order. The temperature and ventilation is spotty or non-existent The layout of the place and machines is "ok". The employees are courteous, nice, accommodating. But no cleaning by employees anymore, or extra staffing to do this. Nice location. Would use whenever I need. Does get busy

Location is across the street from my job, so it's perfect as I often take my hour lunch break at the gym, for a sweet workout followed by the massage bed/chair before returning to work. Equipment is top notch and available. I also love the atmosphere and friendly & super helpful staff. Like the chestnut location. Was going to attend the one closest toe but chestnut has a better vibe (?). Also their machines for deadlifts and such work or rather there are more of them and i don't have to fight for one for long.

I absolutely love the facility. The staff, the cleanliness, the various equipment and amenities, and overall feeling. Unfortunately I joined from home on the app and ended up with three memberships at once so was charged three times. It has been a little bit of a challenge to get back the two overpayments which I need to live and that is my only problem. I don't want to give up on planet fitness because I love it there I just hope that they can rectify this faster than they have because it's really a hardship on my family.

Glad I was able to find another PF location that's convenient for me between work and home. Site is clean and the newer machines definitely feel better to use. It's relatively well populated so it's sometimes hard to get to a machine you want to use. Otherwise it's absolutely fine.

This gym has been a mixed bag for me from the start. Some staff are very friendly and helpful while others don't even say hello and stare at their phones behind the desk. The hours of the gym on the weekends are problematic for those of us who work weekends. 7pm? Why not at least stay open until 10pm on the weekends. You are in Center City, loads of us work later in the service industry. The equipment has everything I need which is fantastic, and its always clean. However, now the power has been out at the gym for 2 days straight and I've been told to go to the PF on Market St? That's a mile out of my way every day. How can you have all these paying members, and not get the power back on after 2 days? Or even have an estimate posted for your members on when it will be fixed? Also how does one building on the entire block have no power, while all the rest do?

Planet fitness gyms are pretty consistent from my experience. Nothing amazing nothing really bad. I go afew times a month usually during working hours so it’s less of a crowd. Front desk workers are usually nice with a greeting…Not all of them but it is what it is…a $10 gym.

I think it's a good size and location, definitely clean. And omg the massage chairs are wonderful after my workout. Wasn't crowded and they are structured for the pandemic guidelines. No complaints and the front desk staff was helpful and polite.

I was there for a couple of weeks visiting my daughter recently. I was at the gym probably 10 or 12 ×'s. I hit P.F.'s all over the country. This is among the nicest, most well run clubs that I've come across... Kudos especially go to the front desk staff who were incredibly kind and friendly. Especially the tall, skinny black girl, what a rock star! I'll make sure to get her name next time.

Very friendly staff. Louahn showed me around and made me feel at ease even though I was a little intimidated by the thought of joining a gym. Crowded when I was there but the app shows you when it's crowded or not. No dance aerobics here per se, but talk to the trainers, they have smaller classes that can be "aerobic-y". Very clean and reasonable prices. I'll be joining.

Clean facility with friendly staff. The only thing is the hours are still not 24 hours despite not needing to have to wear a mask if vaccinated, which doesn't make much sense to me. Not sure if this is the decision of this planet fitness or the city of Philadelphia imposing this hour restriction. I am writing to express how very grateful and impressed I am with every single one of your team members at the 11th & Chestnut St. Center City, Philadelphia location of Planet Fitness. I have a lengthy history in the Philadelphia fitness industry, and taught spin classes for 5 years at various fitness clubs around Center City, everything from larger chains to small, independently-owned facilities. In my former career as a group fitness instructor, I have encountered countless friendly faces and helpful people in guest services at our local gyms; however, your team at the 11th & Chestnut location is absolutely exceptional. I joined Planet Fitness 3 weeks ago, and the 11th & Chestnut location is most convenient to me at this time, as it's right off my bus route. I live with rheumatoid arthritis and a small collection of past fitness career-related injuries, and go to this Planet Fitness 3 times/week to feed my love of movement and exercise, and for rehabilitation and health/mobility maintenance purposes, as well. From day one, this staff has been friendly, helpful, and informative. I get greeted every time I walk in the door by a "Hello!" and a smiling face, and on my way out, somebody always says "Have a good day!" I have already had the pleasure of chatting with many of the guest services reps at this location, and each one is just as friendly and pleasant as the next. Today, I met Club Manager Brandon Wood, and he deserves applause for the positivity and solid leadership that he provides to this team. This team is all about the little touches that make the member experience so memorable, and keeps them coming back and looking forward to their workouts. Today, I left my favorite water bottle next to a hydromassage bed, and one of the team members grabbed my bottle and ran it out to me. This young woman did not want me to forget it, and that meant so much to me. Additionally, this facility is so well-maintained and impeccably clean. The women's bathroom is spotless, and there's not a single speck of dust or dirt... not even a stray paper towel to be found on the floor. I applaud the 11th & Chestnut team for not just making me feel like a valued member; but for going above and beyond in all areas of guest/member service. Please be sure that they see this email. They deserve to be commended and to be let known how very much appreciated they are.

My husband and I were looking for an alternative gym since The Sporting Club closed for renovation until fall. WE LOVE THIS PLACE. We may never go back. For the price, clean clean gym, hydro beds , massage chairs and clean restrooms! I was very very impressed. And, what a bargain! Between 12th and 11th on Chestnut.

Possibly the best Planet Fitness on the east coast. Definitely best in philly. I think. 26000 square feet of brand spanking new equipment. I’ve been there to work out all times of day. In the morning usually the older crowd and doesn’t get too packed until about 8 or 9. Around lunch usually a bunch of nurses and college students. I would avoid going between 5-7. Easily the most hectic and frustrating time. But since it’s such a large facility it’s still not that bad. I love going between 9pm and 2am. It’ll feel like heaven. Love the staff. If you’re thinking definitely join. Get the black card for $20 a month. It’s worth it

I want to point out an employee by the name of Glenn who works at the front desk. He is always smiling and eager to help. He went above and beyond for me when I brought my son as my guest because I am a black card membership holder. He showed me how to add him to my app that way I never have to worry about signing him in. Employees like Glenn make my experience at Planet Fitness a joy and a great place to workout.

With the pandemic there are a lot of restrictions on gyms. Planet fitness adheres to all safety and cleanliness protocols while still offering a workout which you do not have to sign up for before entering the building. Add to it half price drinks, massage and tanning along with a ton of cardio and a moderate amount of exercise machines. Only knock is no free weight bench press, other than that it's pretty spot on.

Been going here for about a year, loved that it was 24 hours and could easily accommodate my schedule. Now it’s only open until 10 on weekdays and 7 on the weekends, which is a major bummer to say the least. I understand the gyms are independently owned and that from a financial perspective it probably doesn’t make sense to staff the gym overnight for the number of people who use it at those hours, but what used to be a nice relaxing workout for me is now a crowded and cramped experience. There is nowhere near enough room in the dumbbell section and you constantly have to dodge and tiptoe around people just to get from one side of the gym to the other because there’s not enough room with the current layout. That being said, it’s generally a clean gym and the staff has been unproblematic, aside from one guy who was pretty condescending to me once. Price is good. It’s probably because it’s Philly but I never have to hear that dumb lunk alarm which is a godsend - I’d leave in a heartbeat if that was a regular occurrence. Also if you’re gonna have four Smith machines it’d be good to have the padding for more than just one bar.
