Good YMCA for the city. Has lots of class options. Swam in the pool when I was very pregnant and I was happy I was still able to exercise. My older girl had swim lessons here for a few sessions that were great. My only complaint is that the parking is nearly impossible so it is better if you live within walking distance.

I just signed up for this YMCA today and can’t believe how impressed I am with it. The front desk team that gave me the tour and helped me sign up were incredibly welcoming and kind. This welcoming energy extended to every area of the Y as well. I was also so shocked by all of the facilities and things that they have to offer. There’s a massive basketball/pickleball court, pool, sauna, kids zone, cardio room, weight room, and studio for classes. The cardio room even has two pelotons for members to use. Schedules are posted everywhere so it’s easy to find when a class is or when members can use the basketball court. They also have an incredible app. I think my favorite thing was seeing all of the young kids, moms, and dads having a place to spend their Saturday morning. All of the little kids seemed so happy to be there, and it feels like a real staple in the community. I could not be happier that I switched from City Fitness to the Y, and I’m already recommending it to all of my friends!

I like how they have every equipment in there to get you’re work out in but for the swim schedule their always changing the schedule. It makes you not want to go there. Especially when you drove there and they tell you last minute when you get to the counter that swim is close. Even before notifying it on the app.

Great place to work out. The gym is a little on the small side but it has all of the equipment I need. There's a lot of family programming too. The facility is a bit dates but it's clean and the staff is also very nice!

Majority of children activities are all set forth and scheduled. So one need to be prepared to follow their schedule in order to part take in most children activities. This mainly includes but does not disclose GYM. For the children's physical activities which varies different age groups and schools I would assume. I always thought schools had their own GYM activities at their own location? Not sure, why they hosting entire after school programs there at the Y? Much has changed since I came up. I guess if you can meet their schedule and pay extra for some activities, you can make it work for you and your family. The experience was an enlighten one, on the down side. Children were expecting a nice swim. So disappointed they both became, no pool nor GYM for that day. Their first time interacting. They do have some out going staff there especially in the children's day care center. Takes time to get used to it and aline your schedule around theirs or pay to fit in. It's like this one pink rose my four year old Granddaughter nursed to life again. It had to adjust and fit in once it was given the proper nourishment and location. I simply thought it was time to dispense it? Move on, but my Granddaughter decided to deal with it keep going at it. After playing with it for two or three days. Moral of this story, give yourself some time. To adjust to their schedule and grow as you go alongside of other's. This way you can adjust as your family are being nurtured into different activities. Don't *clap* pour *clap* water *clap* on *clap* the *clap* electric *clap* sauna. Been going to this place for a few years now. Great place. Google activity in Maps is pretty accurate with showing the busiest times of the day.

Nice locker rooms. They just installed new flooring. Mens locker has a few private shower stalls (clear shower curtains) and a couple "open" shower heads with direct access to the Olympic size pool. Exercise equipment is on the second floor and has all the basics. Front door staff has always been friendly and polite.

The staff is amazing, with a focus on customer service and a huge dose of friendliness. The facility is well appointed with cardio equipment, free weights, pool, and a big selection of group classes. And I love the neighbor feel!

The YMCA is great! The staff is outstanding & the facilities are well maintained with a great selection of classes. My personal trainer - Moonstone - has made a world of difference in running support, tailoring training to my personal needs. I look forward to getting here in the morning!

It's a very hospitable place and the staff are very polite and easy to talk to. The only downside is that children can use the "Wellness Center"(the Gym) as long as they're with an adult(and some even without). Also, occasionally people come in trying to act as personal trainers for others, I assure you that in coming to this YMCA, that is unnecessary. This YMCA has experienced gym staff, don't be shy, ask them for help if you don't know what to do or if you feel like you're doing it wrong. There is no judgment, everyone has to start somewhere, better to be in the gym struggling then lazing around at home.

I only go here to swim and many times the pool has been closed due to poor maintenance (too much chlorine), lack of lifeguards, bad temperature and many other excuses. If there was another indoor pool this size in Philly I would quit in a heartbeat. Edit: new pool manager has improved things significantly

Consistently well run with diverse, wholesome activities managed by great people ever since practically living here via a daily routine of meeting up with friends to play basketball, swim, shoot pool (billiards), play ping pong, watch sports games on "TV" since ... the sixties (1960s that is). This Y has always been historic! Long live the Christian Street YMCA! :)

The Staff are both very courteous and knowledgeable in physical activities. They are extremely professional and safety focused especially with children, and while it is true that it's not the most modern facility- its,very clean and has all that you need.

The sad truth about this is, Some of it is true and some of it is false, I've been apart of the YMCA Sense I was a little person and I've seen it change dramatically over the years It still has the family (EveryOnes)Welcome Feel to Me. but I must say those Woman at the desk can use a touch up on how they deal with the public, even I've complain to the manager in charge she's really a sweet woman handles everything whether it be a complaint or compliment professionally.

A great place to do things with regards to your health. YMCA provides private lessons for swimming, mostly in late afternoon and in the evening. Fitness dance with a coach, fitness facility and a basketball court.

I love Zumba on Tuesdays and Thursdays! Great class, great teacher! The pool is amazing, and they have weights and everything a regular gym has. Very friendly service.

I'm a member of the Grove City OH YMCA and was here in Philly for a conference. I went there to shoot some baskets on Saturday morning, only to be told by the clueless counter person that they couldn't find any basketballs, and didn't know where they might be. Since I had been there the previous afternoon and shot baskets, I knew they had some, unless they all magically disappeared overnight!

We live in West Philadelphia but travel to Christian Street because of the friendly staff- especially Ms. Aisha. There is much to do there and the facilities are clean and well maintained.

Pool locker rooms are dirty. Gym upstairs is small and cramped. Only one squat rack, which is constantly in use, often by people who are not even squatting. Dumbells are never placed in the correct order. No space to clean or deadlift (unless you want to do it in the squat rack).
