I came in to Ultimate Performance with pretty simple goals for myself - to get moving again and learn a bit more about how to set up a nutrition and fitness routine. From Day 1, the program and my trainer Giulio have far exceeded my expectations. I have already accomplished more than I ever thought possible, and we’re only halfway done! The program clearly lays out every step for success: proper technique and nutrition information of course, but also motivation, encouragement, and accountability. Each time I put my trust in the program, it delivers on the goals we set out. Each time I listen to Giulio’s guidance in my workouts, I progress faster and farther than I would if I were training by myself. He knows when and where to push to achieve the maximum return from my time and energy investment. Additionally, the gym is immaculately clean and well equipped and everyone on the staff is super friendly and welcoming. Everything here is absolutely top quality.

I was so wowed by the facility and there promising result’s that I actually chose them over a place that was only couple of miles from my house (they are about 9 miles). It’s been amazing 2 months so far and one of the best decision I made for my health.
My experience working with my trainer Anthony Spear has been absolutely life changing. He is extremely knowledgeable about each exercise and patiently explains them to strike perfection in execution. Precisely monitors each repetition and corrects my form when needed. He genuinely wants his clients to succeed, equally enjoys each milestone and passionate about fitness. Gerard has been my trainer at UP for several months now and the progress I have seen has been incredible. I’ve had several personal trainers in the past and none have ever measured up to Gerard — he is super attentive, knowledgeable and friendly, and definitely knows how to push my limits! The gym itself has state of the art equipment and is a really comfortable environment to work out in. Everyone is really relaxed and compared to other gyms, I have never felt anxious about going or being judged. The plan UP puts you through is definitely tough — you need to commit to 10K steps a day, follow a nutrition plan, and commit to going at least 3 times/week to the gym, but it absolutely works if you’re willing to push yourself. Even though I was having difficulty finding motivation at times, Gerard was always there to help me and keep me committed to achieving my goal. Thanks so much UP and Gerard!

The Ultimate Performance program was an amazing experience! Completely exceeded my expectations. I was paired with the best trainer I’ve worked with, Robert Guerra, who helped me achieve all of my goals faster than I thought possible. I hit my weight, percent body fat, and body appearance goals in half the time I expected. Thanks to a very effective meal plan that he developed with me and I found to be very easy to stick to, a really intuitive app to track my habits and progress, and most importantly several intense workouts a week that I always looked forward to and felt fantastic after. Robert‘s workouts pushed me to do things I didn’t think I could do and made me much stronger. He has a really lovely way of coaching and encouraging that I appreciate very much and helped me feel completely supported on this journey. I can’t recommend him and the gym more and I would absolutely go back again next time I have a big goal.

I became a client of UP in late April, in the midst of recovering from a traumatic accident that left me off my legs for 4 months.
Being someone who grew up always having an active lifestyle and wanting to be physically fit, I felt that I hit rock bottom and lost my sense of motivation and commitment to my fitness goals.

I found UP to help with getting fit for my wedding over the summer. I also had goals of strengthening my upper back and learning how to properly weight lift. The program and trainer I was assigned helped me achieve all 3 of those goals. Gerard who was my trainer helped me focus on proper alignment and posture for each exercise so that I could better understand what I should be feeling/getting from the movement. It’s definitely a challenging program but if you commit to it fully you will see the results you’re looking for!

They provide the most in depth, individually catered training program for your body and abilities as well as a totally private experience. I’ve never seen more than 5 clients working out at the same time. UP trainers focus on proper form, consistently demonstrating how to do the exercise right to ensure that all of your muscles are working and to prevent injury. My trainer Jeff always takes into account my body’s conditions and allows me the time to recover after each set. What I liked about the UP process is the multi-faceted approach that tackles nutrition, healthy habits, workout routines, and a mindset shift centered around self-discipline and personal growth, all at the same time. My PT Giulio is excellent at keeping me accountable towards my goals at adapting to my personal style of learning.
The program is a challenge that requires commitment and hard work, but the support system (the app for quick and constant communication, the facility, the flexibility trainers display in adjusting to personal schedule and to workout needs) is overall incredibly impressive. I leave the program with a better understanding of what my body needs, which is all I can ask for from a program like this.

If you're looking to truly transform your workout and your body, this is the place. I've had multiple trainers throughout out my life including post baby and through the pandemic and I've never been fully satisfied. They were always alright or pretty good. UP is on another level! The program and trainers are dramatically different and I credit the program and most specifically my trainer, Roxy, 100% for the transformation I've undergone. I'm 5'2" and in four months, I've lost over 20 pounds and almost 9 inches of my waist. That's huge for someone of my stature. More importantly, I've gotten stronger, fitter and my entire perspective on how to eat has changed. I completely credit the process of UP and my trainer for these changes I never thought could happen.
When I spend my hour with Roxy, she is absolutely vigilant about my form and my technique. Roxy is the only trainer I've had who is constantly watching my every workout and always adjusting me and giving me advice as I do my reps. She has never looked away, checked her phone or chatted with others while she is training me. She adjusts my workouts, my macros, and my steps and exercise outside to work with where I am in life and to get me to that next level. Outside of the gym, she is a constant support and cheerleader, checking in on my and encouraging me to make right choices. As great as the UP program is, I don't know if I could've achieved what I did without Roxy being my trainer. She's so amazing, I've also introduced two of my friends who were looking to start training to join UP and also introduced them to Roxy. They could not be happier with their experience and results.
I have never been stronger, fitter and lost so much weight with any other trainer. If the cost worries you, consider it an investment in yourself and your health. It is 100% worth it.

I came to Ultimate Performance after experiencing a delay in my exercise routines due to COVID and a personal family loss. I was the most out of shape I had ever been and my recent lob results confirmed I needed to prioritize my health first. I found UP through some online research and loved it was walking distance from my home.
I have been working with Kurt wince August 2022 and have never felt healthier! I have lost 14 pounds and am very close to being the lightest I have ever been (since college). I knew I would not make the transformation quickly but Kurt assured me that slow and steady was the way to go. I also love the accountability that comes with the app, tracking my food and activity has been a huge part of my success. I have been able to maintain the continued loss of weight and muscle increase while traveling for work and having the occasional night out.

I chose Ultimate Performance on Wilshire because it’s close to my apartment and I have a very busy work life. I don’t have the time and energy to learn about transforming my body and keep track of my progress at the gym. I can tell you that was a very good decision.
I started working with Gerard Bruns at UP in May. My first body fat measurement was 23.4%. My original goal was getting down to12%. I hit my goal in September (in 4 months). To be honest, with enough discipline it wasn’t too hard so I got greedy and changed my goal to 10% down the road. It was a more challenging goal. I hit it in November so in 2 months. Now at 10% I have my dream body and I feel better than I’ve ever felt. I’m stronger, my sleep is better, my energy levels through the day is higher and more stable. I feel confident in my body.
In my opinion the most important part of my transformation journey at UP has been the diet. Gerard kept track of my diet, my activities and my lifestyle. They hold you accountable. They ask you to walk at least 10k steps everyday. I got addicted to night walks because I complete my 10k steps at night. I’ve been eating so much better for the last 7 months. I now realize my previous eating habits were very unhealthy. UP completely changed my life. I’m never going back to my old habits.
I recommend Gerard to everyone. He’s so meticulous that he remembers my lifts better than me and even knows my schedule outside the gym. He remembers EVERYTHING! At the gym, he knows when to push me and when to give me time. I had a few injuries from running and soccer along my journey. He knew exactly how to work around my injuries. I've been working out at UP for almost two months, and it has been transformative in many ways. I feel physically and mentally stronger. I've also learned a lot about diet, water intake, and sleep, as well as ways to motivate myself in and out of the gym.
My trainer Jeffrey has pushed me with a combination of tough love and positive reinforcement. He answers my questions thoughtfully and checks in on my progress. I've also worked with other UP trainers when my trainer has been out, and they've uniformly been knowledgeable and supportive.
As you'd expect, you'll get more out of your experience if you put in the energy and effort. But in this case, the results are largely in your control. I remember my trainer telling me on day 1, "If you do everything we ask, you should get to this point in 12 weeks." You actually can't say that about many areas of life.

I’ve been training here since June of this year, and the results I’ve seen so far have been astounding. Overall I’m feeling and moving a lot better, and this is the best physically that I’ve felt in years. It’s just an amazing environment to be in to train. I come here 3 days a week, and no matter how stressful a day is going in, I always feel a lot better after finishing a session. They really make a great positive environment for everyone, and you can tell everyone is really enjoying their sessions and the progress they’re making.
One of the best parts too is just how convenient they make everything. The app they use makes it fairly easy to track everything you need to do, to the point that it’s just become second nature everyday. All I have to do is just cook my meals according to the meal plan created for me, track what I eat/drink, and just make sure to get enough activity everyday. It’s about as straightforward as you can get, and a lot easier to achieve than if I was trying this on my own.
I’ve been working with Gerard, who’s been great to train with. He always making adjustments to the diet or training program to make sure I’m constantly moving in the right direction, and I’ve made a ridiculous amount of progress so far. He’s done a great job too of constantly tweaking the exercises to make sure they fit me, since I came here to recover from a car accident and had to be careful with my back initially. He does a great job too of highlighting just how much progress has been made since I started here, and it’s just been an amazing time with a ton of positive reinforcement. I’ve noticed a ton of great positive physical and overall health changes since I started here.
I have lupus, which is an autoimmune disease that can be fairly serious if not managed and controlled. I used to get flareups about 3-4 times a week, and they would be so serious that they’d knock me out of commission for the rest of the day. The training and diet routine Gerard put me on here have been perfect for my lupus, which is managed by low inflammation and reducing stress. About 2 months after starting here, I noticed that I hadn’t had a flareup all summer, and the 1-2 I’ve had since then were incredibly minor, and managed a lot more easily. I had my 6 month follow up with my specialist, who told me that my results are so remarkable he wants to take me off my medication because I’m in remission. The only change I’ve made since my last check in was starting the program here, and it’s had a tremendously positive effect on my health. Signing up here has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and it’s created amazing, long lasting, positive impacts for my health

With the help of my trainer, Chris Weatherholtz, not only have I gotten into the best shape of my life, but more importantly, I’ve built sustainable habits in nutrition, sleep, activity in + out of gym that will keep me in this shape for years to come.
The biggest reasons to choose UP are for its track record of proven results (you see all the success people have had and it instills confidence that the trainers know what they’re doing) and the personalization towards the individual. Starting in my mid-40's, I started noticing changes in my body. A lot had to do with perimenopause and my sluggish metabolism. I had severe swelling in my lower body and joint pain. I knew I needed to make a drastic change to do something about my health.
Over the last 9 months, my trainer, Chris Weatherholtz, has really helped me with my transformation. Since starting the program, I've lost 20 pounds and 7.5% body fat. I lowered my cholesterol from 238 to 183. My LDL went from 160 to 116. But more than that, he helped me change my daily habits around eating, sleeping, being active and being disciplined. Before I joined UP, I was averaging about 4000 steps daily. Now, I average about 12000 steps/day. Since I've followed their nutritional coaching plan, I've been eating very clean. My skin has cleared up, I sleep better, I'm in a better mood and I don't retain as much water. I can now tuck in shirts into my pants. My whole life I've had an apple shaped body with a bigger midsection. It is the first time that I show off my waist. Losing the stubborn baby weight has really boosted my confidence. I've also gotten stronger because I eat more protein and do weight training. The UP program is great for busy working professionals or parents who don't have a lot of time but want results. If you put in the work and show up, you will see results. The biggest compliment I get from people these days is how they never associated me to be an active person. But now, they say I've become so neurotic about getting my steps and staying active. If I can do it, anyone can do it. Because I had so many injuries coming into the program, my trainer, Chris, couldn't really push me hard. Chris was always very patient with me and because he was so knowledgeable, he was able to push me safely. He watched my every move like a hawk to make sure I didn't get injured. The trainers at UP are next level. I'm so glad I invested in myself.

I first found UP appealing because it had the structure I felt I needed to really accomplish my goals and really was driven by a mission of putting it's clients first. I am now at my 2-month mark since joining UP, and I am well on my way towards my goals. I think one of the many big factors that sets UP apart is the accountability portion of the program and the regular support and check-ins you receive from your trainer. The program not only pushes you towards achieving your physical body goals, but also focuses on making healthy food choices, monitoring your water intake and getting daily movement in any way you can among other things. I think the latter part is so important to the sustainability afterwards; it really becomes a change in lifestyle. I've been working with my trainer Alicia who I couldn't recommend enough! She pushes me to complete the work-out and go up in weight, while cheering me on when I complete a hard circuit. She is extremely supportive of my journey, and I would recommend her to anyone joining UP in the future.

After turning 50 and gaining some pounds during the pandemic, due to the gym closures and cancelling my Equinox membership... I came to Ultimate Performance with the goal to get back into better shape than ever before. I've had trainers before, but wanted to make sure that I was accountable for my training and healthy habits moving forward.
I travel a lot so I needed something that I can do on the road as well as when at home, but most of all track my progress.
Ultimate Performance's program was the right choice.. I have been working with Kurt, my trainer for about 4 months and have lost over 25lbs and over 10% body fat, but gained muscle back.
This is even through the Thanksgiving, Christmas and NYE parties!
I and am the lightest and strongest than I have been since my college athletic days!
The program has many aspects that make it easy to follow and also accountable as your trainer is monitoring it daily, and they will text you if you are falling a bit behind. They provide proper training and technique, so you can take what you have learned and continue outside the program.
You and your trainer are in constant communication with the UP App. This is where you log and track your meals that are then tracked along with your nutrition program. As well as tracking your daily required steps and hydration.
It's a great way to keep you accountable, but most of all makes you learn what proper eating habits and meals are, and the consequences when you have a few too many drinks or pizza slices one night. I have learned more about how my body reacts to traveling, eating, drinking and fatigue.
The results I have seen so far are worth the work and costs, as I am the strongest I have been in a long time and feel so good. Even though the struggle and work are real, its worth the results.
If you want to change your health, get into shape and need to be accountable, this is the place that will push you to your goals and keep them moving forward.

And what an incredible training gym + program UP is. The facility is sparkling, clean, with top of the line equipment. Your trainer and other trainers train there as well, so you're never lacking for inspiration. They have a convenient app which makes logging macros, sleep, water, etc. easy and holds you accountable.
The results and the joy of the process speak for themselves. I lost 30+ pounds over 4 months with a tough but enjoyable training routine and food routine -- and I've learned a lot about how to be consistent with them, so I'm confident I can stick to these principles for a long time. Unfortunately moving away from LA otherwise truly would have kept going to UP as long as I could.

Becoming a client at Ultimate Performance has been one of the most positive and life-altering decisions that I have ever made.
For years I have struggled with my weight due to an inability and fear to be active due to genetic physical limitations. I have always given up on trainers because I either didn't trust that they were understanding of those limitations and the pain I tolerate on a day-to-day basis, or were unwilling to work with me to find exercises that not only I could do, but helped strengthen the rest of my body in a way that would eventually alleviate some of that pain. When I came to UP, I wasn't in the best health... mentally or physically. I had broken my leg, my injury had healed with a malrotation, and I was unsure whether I could ever run or jump again without undergoing a painful surgery. Additionally, I had put on a lot of weight. I felt pretty alienated from my body.
From Day 1 working with my trainer Julian, I knew my experience at UP would be transformative. He took the time to understand my injury and worked carefully both explaining and adapting the exercises to accommodate my leg. His insistence on good posture ensured I remained safe while learning to deadlift, squat, and bench-press. And his attention to my form each session, ensured that I had the knowledge to not only do the exercises correctly, but self-diagnose my own bad habits.
Training with Julian was like the best combination of teacher, coach, and inspirer. I felt pushed to my limit each session. And even on the days I wasn't at UP, Julian would check in on my diet, my step count, or any concerns that arose in my nutrition or exercise.
Throughout my training, I lost over 26 pounds, regained the ability to jump, can run over two miles, and can now do about 8 pullups with 15 pounds of weight strapped on. I came to UP with the hope that I could overcome my injury, I instead found myself stronger, fitter, and healthier than ever before.
On the vanity side of thing...I now have a six pack, well built pecs, and a pyramid back.
My time at UP has left me in such a better state mentally and physically. And I know I can carry the nutritional habits and workout routines onward in a sustainable fashion. I highly recommend Julian. He is inspirational, he cares about his clients, and he is a highly knowledgeable and excellent teacher. One of the things I appreciate most about KeAndre is his ability to tailor workouts to each individual client. He takes the time to understand my fitness goals and any physical limitations I may have, and then designs a plan that is both challenging and achievable.

As an athlete in a past life, I have very high expectations for anyone that I was going to pay to train me. At a minimum, in addition to weights, I expect a plan to include nutrition, hydration, aerobic exercises, sleep and flexibility. And I expect that plan to be tailored to my goals and capabilities while taking safety seriously. All of that is just the basics. They met all of that as their default, so yeah, I recommend them highly.

Though I have only worked with one trainer (Eddie E) that, by the way, they choose for you based on their attempt at finding a good match for your style and goals, all of the trainers that I see working with other customers are just as professional, respectful, polite, knowledgeable and focused as the one I have.
So again, I highly recommend them. BTW, I’ve lost 50lbs and dropped from 33% to 14% body fat since joining in May 2022.

If you have any doubts about the program at Ultimate Performance throw them out the window! My 7/11/22 Starting weight was 234lbs/ 33% body fat and on 10/13/22 I weigh 191lbs/ 15% body fat. The program here has not only helped me lose 40lbs+ but my blood pressure is down from 140 to 110. The program is challenging but even more rewarding, just follow it to the T, (dont rush the process) trust the process, and get results! I'm in the best shape of my life and the best is yet to come! Not only am I in the best shape of my life in my 40s, the results speak for themselves (down nearly 40 pounds and 11% body fat), which have far exceeded what I thought was possible, even though I aimed for what I thought were far-reaching goals. The program and approach from the very beginning are very intentional and authentic. The very first sit down intake meeting with Sean my trainer allowed us to go deep, get vulnerable and find my true why and motivations for seeking out UP, which allowed Sean to connect at a deeper level with who I am and what kind of program will work best, hold me accountability, and how to push me harder than I've ever been pushed to achieve amazing results. It really does lay the foundation and tone for the rest of the journey. From there on, the program is very efficient and effective and you just need to follow the recipe they layout, stick with it, put in the hard work, and enjoy the progress, and you'll not be disappointed. It's been an amazing transformation. One of the most effective tools is having the UP Transform app integrated with iPhone and iWatch to conveniently track daily weight, sleep, meals (macros) steps/activity, hydration, and issues, plus all of your workouts programs, body composition and skinfold measurements, etc. Having all there in one place is critical and removes any obstacles and excuses. Additionally, it was recommended to get on a meal delivery program (Macro Plate), which I think was a major contributor to my success it made navigating my nutrition needs a breeze.
Sean and the rest of the team are top-notch, very knowledgeable, enjoy what they do, and take their role seriously. Very professional and focused on the client and the results. I'm very analytical and like to gain a better understanding of the methods, the technique, etc. and Sean was always able to explain and provide a educated answer and always a great resource for helping navigate challenging situations. Specifically, I had pre-existing knee and elbow injuries and we were able to modify and adapt various exercises to avoid re-injuring or causing pain, while still progressing through the program and getting results. Additionally, he was very knowledgeable about the nutrition and diet side of the program and helped customize a plan that worked for me and the program, educate me on the science behind why it works, and helped me plan for and navigate difficult situations like vacations, dinner parties, events, etc., while staying on track toward our goals. It was easy, but I'm sure without him as a partner through this, I wouldn't have achieved these outcomes.
Ultimately, UP has helped create the healthy habits and routines that enabled the space and time in the day and week to focus on the specific goals and priorities that have resulted in significantly improved energy levels, reduced stress and anxiety, or improved capability of performing well under high-levels of stress (let's face it life happens) and this has helped me immensely with being able to manage stress much better, increased my confidence, improved my well-being and just feeling healthier, and really the looking good part is the outcome of executing on all aspects of the program.
For me it's been a great education on how my mind and body handle changes in nutrition and diet, hydration, physical activities, and sleep and opened my eyes to how important and interrelated those different elements are to achieving a high functioning and performing state.

I started training at UP for a lot of reasons, but primarily because I was pretty depressed -- something I've battled in one way or another for much of my life. The idea of looking better than I ever have was a nice bonus, sure, but I know how closely tied physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing truly are, and I hit a point where I wanted to be at my peak in all three.
Prior, I was waking up late every day, beyond tired and after multiple alarms. I never had an appetite. My diet was basically a morning coffee for the caffeine shock, and then sometimes an entire pizza after a long, unintentional fast. I worked from my couch and my output suffered. My attitude and dating life suffered.
It took a while to convince myself that I could do something differently, but when I committed to myself, I knew that if I was going to really give my all and spend this kind of cash, I wasn't willing to settle for anything less than the best training I could find.
I did immense amounts of research, and I can confidently say there is not a more scientific, data-driven program that exists. Everything (sleep, steps, meals, water intake, weight, reps, routine, etc) is tracked to be able to analyze and adjust, and to instill accountability and discipline. I take progress pics every week (which are blowing my mind at this point), and do 19-point body fat caliper measurements to see exactly how my body is changing. (Look at the transformations. They're real.)
I've gone from 21.8% to 7.9% body fat in three months, now putting on muscle and maintaining that percentage. I'm lean, and I'm proud. I'm hungry at a healthy cadence, I eat cleanly and love it, nutritional tracking has become second nature, and I've learned proper form/routine across a wide variety of exercises that take care of my entire body. I'm disciplined, and I know that all of these skills and knowledge will be with me for the rest of my life.
There are marked differences around my mental/emotional well-being, too: My energy levels are significantly higher. For at least the last two months, I've woken up without an alarm without fail, generally eager to eat and get started on my day. My job -- which is very stressful at times and demands great mental rigor -- has become more manageable. And while I still do get hit with sadness spells here and there, they're less arbitrary, and I'm far better equipped to power through them.
I should talk about UP's staff, as well. Every single trainer is unbelievably skilled (I've trained with several when mine had to take a little time due to a personal emergency) -- and they're all clearly passionate about what they do. I have to give a special shoutout, though, to Abigail Jachera, whom I've been fortunate to train with directly. I'm convinced she's exactly the right coach for me, given my (and her) demeanor, constraints, and goals. I'm very grateful for the thoughtfulness that was put into matching us.
This is a woman who was a professional ballerina, with a background in biology and endocrinology, and with voluminous knowledge of physical fitness. Her energy is infectious, she knows just how hard to push and motivate me (without turning me off), and she's deeply informed. I've never had a question about my program she was unable to answer (or find an answer to), and I know I can trust her entirely in her guidance. She's appropriately mindful of some weird physical quirks I have, and she knows exactly how and why each movement is impacting specific areas of my body. She's reliable, considerate, and responsive. She puts in the time and effort to the same extent that I do. I can tell that she deeply cares about me and my results.
Abi is also authentic to herself as a human, and at this point, I consider her a friend. I'm optimistic this is a relationship I'll carry with me well beyond my time at UP.
I never write reviews, but I'm doing it this time because UP has improved my life at the most foundational levels, and I'm hopeful I can maybe pay that forward.

I signed up at UP in early November and they got me started from the waiting list right after Thanksgiving (perfect timing). I was incredibly hyped to start this program and begin my transformation. After 3 months into the program just about to finish my last session (although I may extend after my vacation) I have lost about 30 lbs. I'm in my early 40's and after covid just couldn't get out of a rut. The changes were dramatic and took lots of work, and dedication. I'm truly grateful for my trainer Alicia Reyes and the UP Team for everything they put in their process to benefit others. I actually drove from Orange County 3 times a week (ya'll need an OC location btw) and the effort was well worth it. Alicia was always supportive, patient and positive. She consistently checked up on me on the UP app at all times and was consistent about my form.

Tips if you are going to sign up
- Sign up for the Meal prep service they recommend before the training begins. They recommended me Macro plate which I started halfway through the program and it made a world of a difference. Although after my vacay I may try their paleo plan instead of the low carb plan.
- The app is awesome. USE IT RELIGIOUSLY. Follow their IG page and also Nick Mitchell's page. It was very supportive.
- invest in some good flat shoes. I think this deserves to be a great article from UP and could have some ad revenue / affiliate link potential. I never did this and I wish I did before attending my first class.
- Be ready to be focused and dedicated to yourself. You deserve it. If your dog was sick you'd probably spend 15k on a surgery. The least you could do is invest in your own health so you can be alive to pay for your dogs surgery!

I just finished 27 weeks with UP and can't speak highly enough about the program and the trainers. My personal trainer, KeAndre took the time to ask questions, listen to my goals, concerns and answer my questions before we started. I had never joined any gym or done any weight lifting before and KeAndre was patient while I learned proper techniques and methods. While you train, the trainers aren't looking at their phones and they give you their undivided attention. The work doesn't stop in the gym either. You monitor your food and activity outside and that is a huge key in succeeding in this program. I felt the communication was probably the biggest driver to succeeding with UP. KeAndre asked all the right questions, and when I asked him questions he wasn't sure about, he'd do his research and get back to me the same day whether about diet, possible injuries or exercises to do outside of our sessions. All the trainers are friendly and say hello and make you feel like you are welcome. This isn't a place to go to see and be seen. This really is a results driven program where the trainers guide you to achieving your goals.

It’s said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. It’s entirely true, but what isn’t discussed nearly enough is how critical it is to have a GUIDE with you along such a journey. In my case, that guide was my personal trainer at UP Fitness, Chris Weatherholtz, who I have been training under for the past 36 weeks and counting.
I came to Chris with the following baggage: I was a sleep-deprived (though I didn’t know it), self-employed 43-year old attorney, father of 2, living in Orange County, weighing in at 153 lbs, with a staggering 34% body fat measurement. I had a sore left shoulder, mild asthma, suffered for 20 years from a respiratory disease called AERD (which is associated with tremendous amounts of inflammation), I did not (have time to) exercise, carried a gut, could not do a single chin up, had never been inside a gym in the previous 8 years, and, quite frankly, was not bothered by most of this. The only things that bothered me was that despite my best efforts, I could not lose my gut. And the main thing that bothered me was that I could not keep up with my two young daughters. I would get winded before them while playing with them, and I could not hold them for as long as they asked. That feeling always killed me inside, but “Hey, there’s only so much time in a day, and the ‘dad bod’ was just bound to be, right?” A busy work lifestyle, eating/drinking at social gatherings, family commitments, the list is endless, I know you get it…
What I soon came to learn is that UP employs and trains the world’s greatest personal trainers, and Chris Weatherholtz is basically a Jedi Knight. He is extremely knowledgeable, incredibly patient, but above all, just knows his stuff and makes it his job to know yours. Under his constant watch (and I mean constant!), he miraculously increased my sleep from 3.5 hours a night to 6 hours. He increased my water intake from 4 glasses a day to over 3 liters a day. He increased my average daily steps from 1 mile a day (2,000 steps) to over 5 miles a day (10,000 steps). He did his Houdini magic on my gut, bringing my waist down from a size 34 to a size 26 (hint: reserve sufficient funds for wardrobe changes along your journey), and shredding over 30 pounds of pure fat from my skin and making it disappear. He straps on 25-pound weights to my waist, after I’ve already given him 20 pull-ups, and then knows what I don't even know, "You got 6 more in the tank." I am now at record lows in cholesterol, record highs on my pulmonary function tests, and he has eradicated by all measure any prior feelings of left shoulder pain I ever had.
My kids know Chris as the “bad guy” who watches over what their dad eats and drinks, and makes sure he gets to sleep on time. But the truth is Chris gave me something that they say no one can give you: time. Not only did he help me to find/make time in my day to do all of this (which I thought was impossible), but he also gave me back years into my life. I am the strongest I have ever been in my life, the most energetic I have ever felt, the happiest that I can remember. The scary part is UP reminds you that this is just the beginning, there are no upper limits.
Today, my kids get winded before me – and that’s the way it should be. I can only thank Chris by giving him more of what he alone knows that I still have inside of me.
I used to detest gyms and working out. I would poke fun at friends who would count calories and log meals into an app. And here I am today, driving 200 miles a week just to spend 2 hours with my trainer. That is how good Chris is, and this is coming from a lawyer who bills by the hour. (They don’t have an UP Fitness in OC yet!)
Nothing is more valuable than your health. UP Fitness easily is one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life and yet the best decisions I have ever made.

Ultimate Performance is by far the best experience in fitness I have ever tried. It’s worth every penny. My trainer, Otto Konrath transformed my body in 12 weeks to a level that I didn’t think was possible to achieve. I started at 18% body fat, minimal muscle, and poor endurance. 12 weeks later, I was at 10% body fat, packed on 5lbs of muscle, got shredded, and drastically improved my endurance. None of this would have been possible without my amazing trainer Otto. This program is perfect for new or experienced athletes. They provide you with a complete roadmap that is easy to follow. I was given a macro profile that was constantly tailored to my goals, a nutrition plan, supplement guide, food recommendations, and a work out plan. Training at Ultimate Performance has change my life for very good in many ways.
I went to UP as I am approaching my 40's and wanted to work towards having strong bones, building muscle, and getting my hormones balanced. Also, I have scoliosis, and every time I tried to lift weights, my lower back would hurt big time, so It was imperative for me to have a program and most importantly a trainer that could support me in my way of getting stronger while avoiding getting injured.
So, I have been training with Jen for the past 6 weeks and I am in owe to see the positive, drastic changes not only in my body but also in my performance at work and my increased overall energy. I can't thank Jen enough! She has gone above and beyond to make sure that my routine fits my scoliosis needs. She is always monitoring how I feel before, during, and after lifting, carefully checking my body position while I'm lifting the weights, and adjusting as my needs change. I am extremely happy to report that not only my body looks amazing but I have NO back pain. If something, the contrary, my back is changing as it is stronger and my body is more balanced.
Another thing that I also love about this place is the nutrition, good habits, and accountability program. Jen is always checking that I am being consistent with my nutrition goals, water intake, daily steps, sleep patterns, everything to make sure I keep improving.

If you’re looking to make a big change with your lifestyle and fitness in 2022, there really is no better place to start than UP. Like so many people over the course of the pandemic, the effects of wfh and a sedentary lifestyle had not only added pounds but affected my confidence to be out in the world again. After 18 weeks of working with UP I’ve seen a huge improvement in my fitness, confidence and qualify of life. I’ve lost over 40 pounds and feel better than I have in years.
Chris has been an amazing coach and supported me throughout my entire transformation. I was dealing with a lingering back injury, and re-injury was one of my biggest concerns going back into a weight training program. Chris was able to adapt and shift the workout focus areas to build strength, and developed a plan of progression that helped me get stronger safely. Just finished up a 6 week program at Ultimate Performance. Could not be happier with the overall experience and results that I had in just a short period of time. Let me start by saying that I already worked out frequently on my own, but had never had any personal training before. I was a little hesitant because I was not sure what to expect but had hit a wall and was struggling to shed my Quarantine - 15 (pounds). My trainer, Gerard, did not disappoint! This guy helped me with implementing healthier eating habits, different meal options to optimize my training and pushed me during out training sessions. Very supportive and enthusiastic attitude and helped me to shed 10 lbs in 6 weeks, both increasing lean muscle mass and reducing body fat %. Not only do I look better than I did before Covid began, I also FEEL much better. More energy, better sleep and overall better mood. Looking back to myself just a few months ago before joining Ultimate Performance is awfully difficult. In such a short time, all aspects of my life have drastically improved. Physically, mentally, socially, romantically, and spiritually - the clarity of mind and purpose of time I've gained through this rigorous program is most definitely what makes this all worth it for me. I've learnt a lot about body mechanics through my sessions with Otto, and probably most importantly was to work through and develop my pain tolerance (responsibly). I'm sure my story is similar to many others: mid-40s, busy with work and kids, unhealthy eating habits, little-to-no exercise, progressive weight gain over 5+ years. The resulting issues (physical and mental) caused by that trend finally led me to the front doors at UP in desperate need of help.
I can't put into words how much my trainer Anthony Spears means to me, and how much he has done for me in such a short amount of time. 35 lbs lost, 10%+ body fat reduction, 5+ inches around my waist gone, visible abs last seen during my college years, BP levels dropped from hypertensive to normal levels, and the list goes on.

I'm a 41 year old male and have been doing personal training with UP for about 6 weeks and I'm very happy with the program. I was about 25-30 pounds overweight and about 29% body fat when I started the program. By week 3-4 I'd gone down 2 belt notches...and people really started noticing the results and complementing my fat loss...my body fat % had gone down from 29% to 22% by week 4 or 5. I just finished 6 weeks of 3x per week training and look leaner, fit into pants i hadn't fit into in years, and started looking stronger and more muscular. I also feel younger and more energized. I like the results so much that I'm extending by another 6 weeks to see what a full 12 week term will help me accomplish...at this rate it should be a nice six-pack or at least the outline of it :). For a guy in my 40s who was becoming fairly overweight, this will be a great accomplishment to get me back to how I looked in my mid 20s. Geoff is a fantastic trainer...very knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition, and pushes you to as hard as you can go without being overbearing. The rest of the staff greets you by name and are all super nice, friendly and supportive. It's a great atmosphere unlike any other gym I've ever been to. The equipment is state of the art. I literally look forward, for the first time in my life, to going to the gym because I see the results and have learned what it takes to get those results. My experience at UP Brentwood/ Los Angeles has been nothing short of amazing. I went in with modest expectations, given my busy schedule and my fear that I may not be able to follow through on a tough program for what seemed like such a long period of time.
I was mistaken on both parts. My trainer, Kurt Heeren, was gracious, understanding, kind and motivating. He worked to accommodate me and work around my busy life. Additionally, the sessions were tailored to help me grow in strength and endurance as it went, so it didn’t seem as tough. Towards the end I looked forward to each one, and rather than worrying about keeping it up, I began to worry about it ending.
After training at Ultimate Performance, I feel 20 years younger. In 5 months, I dropped nearly 30 pounds, and went from about 30% body fat down to 13%. I feel healthier than before, and I’m stronger than ever.
While all the staff at the facility is great, I can’t say enough about Kurt and his help in getting me to achieve my goals. While Kurt is quite young, he is mature and professional beyond his years. He was gracious and flexible not only in terms of scheduling sessions, but in accounting for any aches and pains I had and tailoring exercises and routines to work around them as needed. He’s motivating without being overbearing or annoying. He’s also just a great young man who is passionate about fitness in a way that’s infectious. I don’t think I would’ve reached the goals that I did or made it nearly as far without him. It also wouldn’t have been anywhere near as much fun doing it without him. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trainer at this place. He’s awesome.

I came across UP when a friend forwarded one of their online adds. I was in terrible shape and initially looking for some motivation to get me back into a consistent workout routine. So after my consultation, I decided to give them a try. Hand down the best overall experience I've ever had with personal training. Not only do they customize a goal oriented strategy including a nutrition plan, but they actually maintain that plan by testing your body fat every 2 weeks, making sure you are properly following the nutrition plan, and taking before and after photos throughout your progression. When I started I was 205 pounds and 30% body fat. I am now 185 pounds and 15% body fat. I've been consistently losing fat and gaining muscle through this process. What I like the most is that my trainer, Eric has been amazing in retraining me to lift using the proper technique after years of developing bad habits. All of these guys know you on a first name basis, they're fun, professional and the facility is top notch. I recommend them to everyone I talk to.

I have trained here for 12 weeks and with a lot of work and discipline coupled with the great knowledge and training from UP, life changes are very possible. I have has a complete change in my physic and point of view what I thought was healthy life, versus what is truly a healthy life. If you are looking to get into shape, change the way you look, and have some real result, this is definitely the program for you. No excuses are allowed, and you are supported all the way through, it is not easy, but it is not impossible. Working with Geoff the last three months has been eye opening, and I was not even in that bad shape when coming into the facility. When I started at UP, I was 6 months postpartum after baby #2. I’ve never struggled with my weight, but I wanted a more structured way to “reclaim” my body, and someone to really hold me accountable, especially during a pandemic when it’s all too easy to put on some pounds with so much time spent at home. After almost five months training with Chris twice a week, I can safely say I’ve never looked the way I do, I’ve never been or felt as lean as I am now, and it’s given me a confidence I honestly didn’t expect. Yes, you’ll learn how to eat better and you’ll learn exactly what foods cause you to retain water and feel bloated so you learn to stay away from them…but for me, personally, the biggest lesson has been how to weight train. I have been blown away with how meticulous Chris (and I know all the trainers are) is when guiding me through lifting weights…my form, taking note of how much weight and how many reps and how strenuous it was for me, to either push me harder or make an adjustment. As someone with a history of back problems, it’s been incredible to continue to lift more and more weight –getting strong and stronger—without really ever feeling sore the next day…and that’s truly a testament to being guided by an expert. That’s what you get at UP – experts. You’re not just working with a personal trainer; you’re working with someone who is prepared to influence your entire lifestyle top-down, and if you let them, improve it more than you can imagine. I can, for example, confidently put to rest the idea that cardio is necessary to lose weight. At UP, you learn pretty quickly that fueling your body the right way, combined with proper weight training, can be totally transformative. Since joining, two other friends have joined as well after being so impressed with my own results. I’m so grateful to Chris for really pushing me to achieve my goals, and for always telling me I’m stronger than I think I am.

Thank you to Ultimate Performance and my trainer Chris Weatherholtz! I joined 8 weeks ago and signed up for the 12 week Female Fat Loss Program. I was hesitant at first because I was nervous about weight lifting and sticking to a healthier eating lifestyle. It has been amazing!! I get my measurements and progress photos taken each week. I saw results right away and by 6 weeks I had abs!!! I no longer drink coffee (personal choice) but I have more energy and get up earlier than I ever did before. I have fun keeping up with my tracker and receiving feedback from Chris. I love having his accountability for my food choices as well as how much he pushes me in the gym. I would not have been able to get these results on my own.
The program isn't easy, but it works. I feel so accomplished and proud of myself after each session. All of the trainers are really friendly and encouraging. There is a sense of camaraderie with the other clients. We all give each other knowing looks because we know how hard it is, but also that it's worth it.
Prior to coming to UP I was a member of Equinox for about 12 years. This is a completely different experience and I wish that I had found UP much sooner. Going to Equinox was fun, but I was just going through the motions and not seeing any real results. I've been training at UP (with Andre) for 15 weeks, and I am very happy with both the process and the results. The diet is challenging, but my trainer is always available to answer questions or make suggestions. I started seeing results very quickly, less than 2 weeks into the program. I started training at UP LA because I wanted a holistic approach to my fitness, and I could not be happier with my decision. Although I’ve worked with trainers in the past, none have come close to the level at which Kevin operates. It became quickly apparent to me how invested the trainers are in our success, and Kevin was great at listening to my needs throughout the program. From the beginning of our sessions together, he identified the strategy he would be using for me, and always made sure to explain to me why we were taking that approach, especially since every few weeks, he would change the exercises and food plan.
Diet is a HUGE part of the program, but Kevin made sure that I stayed on track and was always quick to respond to my texts about what meals I could eat at certain restaurants, or whether I should be changing quantities.

The impact of UP on my life has been one of the most significant experiences that I have lived. I started with Chris in January 6th and his knowledge and professionalism has lead with results on my body that I would have never imagined. It takes A LOT to impress me and I have to say, UP LA is the very best. The entire experience is first class and the results you achieve are AMAZING. I lost over 15lbs in 6 weeks and this was the easiest and most enjoyable experience I've ever had. I've tried everything to lose weight from personal trainers, meal delivery, Yoga 5x / week, running, $400 cleanses, shakes, etc....and UP is the only thing that -- as they say -- delivered impressive results. More over, my trainer Cristian was so awesome, extremely knowledgeable, supportive, and kept me on track...and I managed to achieve great results during the Thanksgiving / Holiday Party time period (from early Nov. thru mid Dec.) and it didn't feel like torture. In fact, I looked forward to every session and weighing myself in the morning became a daily highlight. The facility is spotless and you can tell that all the trainers are highly dedicated to their clients. For each and every training session, Cristian watched my every single move and made sure I was learning how to do each exercise with the proper form. Speaking of learning, I've gained so much knowledge from this experience. At almost 39 years old, I FINALLY figured out how to properly feed my body. My experience training at Ultimate Performance was amazing!! I worked with my trainer Kevin Jones and lost 7% body fat in 12 weeks. Kevin was extremely thorough and shared a lot of scientific knowledge to back it up. Prior to training at Ultimate Performance, I was a classic yo-yo dieter, but I finally feel like I have a scientific foundation that has helped unlock a whole new relationship to eating and training.
Throughout my 12 week program, I learned the importance of macro and micronutrients AND the importance of water, sleep, and protein in a training program. The most significant result throughout my time at UP was learning how to eat to support my body and, as a result, no longer eating emotionally.
Kevin went above and beyond to tailor a program that suited my specific goals. There are so many workout program options online it can be so overwhelming, and it gave me peace of mind to know I had a personalized game plan that was driving real results.

My experience at UP LA has been great. I came in with the mindset that if I follow what I’m told I will get results. It’s hard not to think that when you see all of the success stories on the wall. I started seeing noticeable results after two weeks and have been off to the races ever since. I’ve been submerged in the program now for 7 weeks, and I’ve lost 20 lbs so far. I started at 190 lbs, and right now I’m at 170 lbs. I realistically can lose another 15-20 lbs by the time this program is over if I stay disciplined to my program. Since starting with UP, I’ve really concentrated on my fitness and overall health and it shows. Besides the complements of I look much healthier and my skin is glowing (I get those the most) I feel that I have much more energy throughout the day and wake up refreshed every morning. For me UP has really helped me fine tune my diet. It’s important to follow these professional trainers’ advice on both diet and exercise. It was pretty simple; I told my trainer Cristian what I was looking to accomplish, and he put together a game plan for me. He took all the guess work out for me. I just follow what he tells me to do, and I get the results. It’s a great deal for me! Cristian is also very supportive outside of the gym and is always texting me encouragement which I find very beneficial to keep me focused on my goals. I've been training at UP with my trainer, Louis Zito, for about eight weeks. After an in depth consult discussing my history and goals, he put together a full training schedule and nutrition plan.
In the gym, everything we do is clearly explained and structured so I feel safe and educated in the process. I never have to worry about doing an exercise incorrectly or inefficiently because Louis is there on each rep making sure my form is perfect.
It took a couple of weeks in order to see results in the mirror, but almost immediately I felt benefits like improved energy, stamina, and mood. It made me regret not joining a gym way earlier in life.
I have enjoyed my time at UP so much that I renewed my membership to stay on and continue working with Louis.
The UP crew and facilities are top notch and I can't recommend them enough. Even though my trainer is Louis, all the other trainers still say hi and all of the other clients are very friendly. UP is an extremely professional and regimented workout program with talented, personable staff and trainers. I had a very positive experience with my trainer Kevin. During my 12 weeks with UP, I made noticeable improvements in my body composition, if not a full "transformation". More valuably, UP gave me what I needed to commit to long-term fitness habits: a completely new relationship with nutrition and the confidence and knowledge I needed to commit to a regular gym routine. For me, UP was worth the (considerable) cost.

I signed up for UP’s 12-week program in late 2019. I was a skinny guy with gym anxiety; my fitness goals were to gain muscle mass and improve my understanding of exercise form; I wanted to build the "toolkit" I needed to jumpstart long-term exercise habits.
First point to drive home is that UP has fabulous, talented personnel. My experience at UP started with a consultation with Sara, the gym manager. It would be difficult to overstate how warm, organized, and helpful she is. UP is lucky to have someone as talented as she is at the helm. Sara matched me with a trainer based on the preferences I described at the consult.
I trained with Kevin for most of my 12 weeks in the program. Kevin is friendly, warm, and knowledgeable about form and fitness research. In the world of trainers, I’ve noticed that there are those who have achieved impressive personal fitness and those who are actually good at teaching other people to improve their fitness. Finding the latter, I believe, is critical to achieve your fitness goals. I can say confidently that Kevin is a good teacher who could adapt to the way I think. My brain works systematically (in checklists, for example) and responds well to very exact explanations of movements, down to the angles each part of the body should form during a movement. Kevin presented information about each movement in a way that made sense to me, and was endlessly patient with the frequent questions I’d bring up each session.
The second point to emphasize is that UP’s approach to fitness is regimented and scientific. I appreciated the number of spreadsheets and resources that UP uses. It translates how changing your body composition is really just a numbers game; if you eat the right macros and lift progressively heavier things, you will see results. It sounds simple, but it was something I couldn’t fully buy into until I experienced UP’s approach.
Before the program, I ate without intention. I didn't think about what I ate, what macronutrient targets I should aim for each day, or how my macronutrient intake would affect my body composition. UP recommended specific macro targets customized for my body and fitness goals. Most importantly, the UP system facilitated my fidelity to the nutrition plan through intense accountability. I sent Kevin a picture of everything I ate during the program, updated a spreadsheet tracking my weight and macro intake every day, and started and shared a MyFitnessPall account with him. I could not have radically changed my diet without this social pressure, of sorts. This new awareness and strategy surrounding diet is a tool I think I will carry with me for life.
The third point I want to drive home is that UP’s approach, and especially their 12-week transformations, may be most effective for those looking to lose weight rather than gain muscle mass. I spent the entire program in a calorie deficit, and sometimes a deficit that was psychologically and physically difficult to maintain. Over the course of the program, I dropped from 13% body fat to 7%. After having lost some extra body fat, I admit that I like the way my body looks. However, my goal going in was to gain muscle mass. I’m no expert, but I have to assume that the loss of extra body fat came with some compromise in the amount of lean muscle I built during the program.
Overall, UP fundamentally changed how I approach nutrition and exercise, and I'm highly satisfied with my experience with the 12-week program and with Kevin!

My experience training at UP LA so far as been amazing. I started to see results in the first 2-4 weeks. Weight training has improved my fitness routine and knowledge on correct form. I also see my physique toning much more quickly than any other type of workouts I've done on my own. The weights combined with the nutrition plan and coaching are a powerful combo because I saw the results quickly and felt amazing. I’ve had an awesome experience at UP and have loved working with Louis Zito. Its been the best investment in my health and fitness I’ve made. The program takes a methodical approach – they track your diet and weight daily, along with body fat percentage other body measurements every few weeks. They record your strength on each exercise and coach you through every rep. I saw real progress in strength, muscle growth and body fat % right off the bat and it becomes very motivating. The gym is state of the art, they have all the best equipment, and nice locker rooms. It’s a great environment with great people.
Louis made the experience educational and enjoyable. Over the course of 12 weeks we spent a lot of time together, so it was great to have someone who’s both fun to be around and very smart with a ton of education and experience in fitness/nutrition. I also came in with a shoulder injury from years ago that never improved despite months of physical therapy and prevented me from bench pressing or doing push ups. Louis carefully designed the workouts and we’ve gotten back to full use and strength in my shoulder. That alone felt miraculous and worth the cost. Louis is super professional - always on time, focused, and prepared for our workouts. He’s efficient in the gym, and outside the gym he’s always responsive when I text him with diet and fitness questions.
This is a life changing program. I’ve loved the results. I can’t recommend Louis and UP enough.

UP has been one of the best decisions I've made in my life for my health and well being. I lucked out with my trainer Geoff Sampson, who has really changed my life for the better. He's incredibly knowledgable about nutrition and fitness and is always expanding his personal knowledge with seminars and certifications. In the time I've been training there I've lost over 20 lbs of fat, gained 10 lbs of Lean Body Mass and more importantly I've stayed that way and continued to improve instead of constantly going up and down, which I used to do. When I came in last year I started to see results within a couple of weeks. Seeing those early results inspired and excited me and kept me going. I've learned the hard truth that nutrition can determine around 80% of your visible results, and that my ability to gain and keep muscle mass is often determined not just by my efforts in the gym but the food I eat--it's proper nutrition + consistent strength training together that creates the best outcomes. Everyone in my life, especially those I haven't seen for a while comment on how much more fit and muscular I look, which of course feels good, but I'm never satisfied and always have further to go. I would highly recommend the gym to anyone who is ready to really commit to doing the hard work that's required to make a lasting change in your physical fitness/appearance. It's hard, consistent work that makes the difference, and that is what UP demands of everyone. No shortcuts, no easy way out. Only hard work and discipline gets positive results. You'll be amazed and thrilled with the results if you listen and follow their lead.

I have tried a variety of exercise programs and a variety of trainers over the last several years.
The issues were either no real change, or temporary change at best.
My trainer at UP, Adam Davis, is honestly the best trainer I have ever worked with. His methods and professionalism translate into confidence that I am doing the exercises correctly and without jeopardizing an injury.
You will be encouraged and guided to do more than you thought possible. It is a commitment on your part with both food and training but, the results are incredible. I have lost nearly 15 lbs in about 6 weeks. Body fat is down and cardiovascular has improved. In Summary, I am leaner, more muscular and in better overall shape. I can do the activities I love like, surfing, skiing, basketball and cycling without fear of injury and perform at a much higher level than before.
There is an additional cost involved, you will be buying new clothes since your old ones probably won't fit ! :)

As I reach the end of my 6 week training program with UP LA, I can say with certainty that I have been incredibly impressed with the transformation that my trainer, Cristian, has helped me achieve in such a short period of time.
I came in to UP with no prior experience with working out or dieting and was unsure about how much I would be able to accomplish in just 6 weeks. From day 1, Cristian took the time to educate me on how my transformation would be driven by 1) my diet and 2) proper technique / consistency in my training. With regards to my diet specifically, Cristian taught me about how many of the foods that I had always considered "healthy" were actually the opposite and provided me with easy-to-implement alternatives that I could use in my day to day routine. Despite my hectic travel schedule that took me to different cities across the US almost weekly, Cristian would check in on me daily and even review menus of every restaurant that I was eating at to provide healthy menu recommendations, which was key to helping me stick to my diet even when I was away from home. With regard to the training, I was really starting from square 1 given my lack of experience but Cristian started from the basics and taught me the essentials of form and consistency.
Just 6 weeks of training with Cristian and UP have completely changed my diet, given me confidence in the gym and have made me stronger and leaner than I have ever been before. UP has given me skills that I can take away from the program long after my 6 weeks are over, and I highly recommend the program to anyone looking to transform their diet or body or anyone looking to instill discipline / accountability into their life!

If you are trying to make a change in your life, health, and fitness, then I highly, highly recommend UP. I’ve always tried to get in shape and work out on my own, but I would see very little change. Going to the gym would feel tedious and not fun at all. I decided to invest in a personal trainer because I was tired of not making any progress. I came across UP after looking for personal trainers in my area. I saw all the 5 star reviews and transformation pictures that UP had, so I decided to give this place a try.
Now after completing their 12 Week Transformation Program I can attest that all those reviews are true! I was paired with a very funny and fantastic trainer, Evan Eames, and I have to say that I learned so much from Evan and I truly transformed my body during the 12 weeks I worked with him. Evan taught me everything from nutrition to working out properly, and would constantly check on my diet and sleep to make sure I was making progress. The workouts are intense, but you definitely leave feeling accomplished after each session because you see how much you’re able to push yourself. Evan, along with all the trainers, truly care about you and your journey. Everyone at UP is very friendly and super nice. I know a lot of people feel intimidated by gyms and are afraid of feeling judged, but I can honestly assure you that this place will provide you with all the support you need. I wish I had invested in program like this a long time ago instead of trying to figure things out on my own for 5+ years.
This has been one of the best investments I have made for myself. By the end of the 12 weeks I had dropped 25 pounds and 11% body fat, and I’m leaner and feel better about myself. I constantly have people notice the change and compliment on my physical appearance.

UP has been the best fitness experience in my life. I have gone to other gyms and had tried other personal trainers but UP has been the only facility that has produced substantial results.
I have been very obese for practically all my adult life, and I hadn't been under 300 pounds since I was 19 (currently 31). My previous attempts at fitness I would lose maybe 10-15 pounds max, but it would always come back. I started a 6 month program at UP at 316 pounds, and at the end of the program I have lost 70 pounds. I have also learned to listen to my body's needs when it comes to food and have made fitness an enjoyable habit instead of an unwanted obligation.
My trainer, Chris Weatherholtz, has been the key factor to my transformation. He was able push me to my limit during every session. He taught me proper form, technique, and built up my skill level from basically nothing. I was doing so many things wrong in the gym until Chris showed me how to do them right. But his work with me was not just confined to the gym. He would also monitor my weight, macro intake, and daily activity, making sure that I continued working toward my fitness goals beyond the time I spent inside the UP facility.
While my fitness journey isn't over, UP has given me a life changing experience and has given me results that I realistically wouldn't be able to achieve on my own. Awesome! The best ever! Highly recommend UP. The staff is so friendly, welcoming and I love the gym equipment. The trainer (Geoff) took the time to teach me the technique, rather than quickly get through a session and moving on to the next client. The trainer involvement is not just for the hour of training but for the entire program. I believe it is a different level of strength training mixed with knowledge of understanding the importance of nutrition and diet. My experience at UP has been mind-blowing: in 8 weeks I have been through a complete transformation. Before going to UP I was 8months postpartum, 10lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight and felt very self-conscious about my baby belly. I had diastasis recti (abdominal separation due to 3 pregnancies) and was very weak overall. Fast forward 8 weeks and I have massively dropped my body fat percentage, have a 6 pack and look super toned overall. I’m 39 and have always struggled a bit with my weight. Never paying much attention to food, I would find myself rubber banding between skinny-fat and just plain overweight every few months. UP made sure I was properly doing all the lifts in the correct way not only to not injure myself but to work muscle groups in the proper way.
The facility is fantastic. Because this is personal training gym your aren't waiting for racks or machines and your workout is all predetermined by your trainer based on your goals.
I started seeing results almost immediately. I have been training there 6 months now and have dropped +40LBS. I have personally not felt so great in a long time. Generally, I have a lot more energy to participate in activities that I used to avoid before.
I have learned counting all your macros is not as daunting and time suck as you might think at first. There are great apps out there that make it easy. Once you can get that down and couple it with proper weight training results will occur. There is no magic diet or fad workout routine.

UP is amazing. The trainers carefully plan your diet and exercise, and, most importantly, motivate you to stay on track. Before signing up for UP, I wouldn't say that I was unhealthy, but over the last 12 weeks I've completely changed my diet and lifestyle -- leading to an improvement in my overall appearance and health. I've gained muscle and cut my body-fat in half. I doubt that I could've done it without help from Adam (my trainer). It took about 3 weeks to see results and the first couple weeks or so were really challenging, but it was definitely worth it. If you're looking for a gym that will not only get you in shape but show you how to maintain your new level of fitness (through proper exercise and diet), look no further than UP. Easy 5 stars.

I love the culture, live style, and results UP offers. It's hard to put into words how rewarding the program has been, particularly training with my trainer David. His positive attitude, dedication to his clients, and knowledge, is unparalleled to anything I have experienced prior to joining. He continues to keep me accountable during times away from the gym - making sure I don't lose the progress we have made together including my well-being. I am forever thankful to have him and the UP community in my life. I have never felt healthier and more confident. Not only am I stronger, I am more energized, sleep better, and have more positive outlook on life. The psychological aspect has been just as rewarding as the physical.

While this may be a bold claim, I can honestly say without hesitation that this place changed my life. As someone who has struggled with diet and exercise my whole life, I always felt like I didn't know where to begin to make a sustainable change. I've tried fad diets and workouts, but nothing ever seemed to stick. Nor did I ever see those drastic "before/after" results you always see. A couple years ago, I had a rude awakening, and had to have major heart surgery. From then on, I knew I never wanted to be in that place again and health became a priority.
When I stumbled across UP, after some soul searching, I decided to invest in myself to make a change. I knew I had to put in real work to get real results. I was partnered up with my trainer, Kevin, and feel like we were destined to find each other. From our very first session, he was there to support me every step of the way, inside and outside of the gym. Stepping into a gym was always like a foreign language to me, but having a guiding hand throughout made all the difference. Kevin is a wealth of knowledge, ready to answer any question with a well-informed response. You can tell he doesnt just go through the motions, but actually appreciates the science behind it. He also focused on proper form and made sure every motion had control and purpose. He squeezed every bit of juice your muscle had to offer. And the workout was personally catered to me. It wasnt just some template that he forced you to fit into. We set goals and worked towards them, and having the daily motivation and accountability made them attainable. I almost feel bad for the amount of grilled chicken and broccoli photos I sent him.
I will admit, at first, I was exhausted and questioned why I was there. But as the sessions continued, and i started to see results, I walked out of UP feeling great... still exhausted, but great. I almost wish I had a time machine to go back to my first day of training, because even I wouldn't believe I was capable of getting to where I am today. I have a better understanding of my body, my nutrition, and feel like I've been given the tools for a sustainable future. I've dropped over 50 pounds and over 15% body fat, and I'm in the best shape of my life.
Gym wise, the facility is pristine. It's a private facility that is maintained with everything you could possibly need. Since you need to work with a trainer to be there, you rarely interact with others, which is perfect for social distancing. The trainers wear masks, check temps, and disinfect every surface after use.
TL;DR - If you're committed to making a change in your health and fitness, this is the place to start. Put in the work and you'll see results! Also, Kevin rocks!

Since working with Chris, I'm down 110 pounds, healthier than I've ever been in my life, and feel like I've done it in a sustainable way. I knew this was going to be a long process, but I started seeing the results right away and Chris has found ways to keep me motivated and keep things interesting!

I have been training with Ryan for 6 weeks and could not be happier. He is an incredible trainer, unlike your average trainer he is extremely knowledgeable in and out of the gym. Ryan is also very detail oriented, not only in perfecting form in the gym but in observing every detail of your life and finding a way to improve things. He has a tremendous work ethic and will give you everything he has, he truly has made my life much better. I am pushing myself farther in every facet of my life and choosing UP has been the best investment in my future and health. Ultimate Performance has nothing short of an amazing experience and transformation for me. When I joined, I was weighing in at 186lbs / 84kg / 36% body fat and after 12 weeks I was at 156lbs / 70.76kg / 22% body fat, Now after 15 weeks I'm at 148lbs / 67kg / 19% body fat. Needless to say I have transformed and am continuing to transform myself.
Chris is my trainer, but the whole gym really does an amazing job of working closely with me and cheering on my progress. Everyone from Eddie to Dani and all the other trainers, it really is a very supportive environment to train in and the gym itself is top-of-the-line and unlike any gym I've trained in before.
As someone who works 12hrs or more per day and has a very stressful job, I was stress eating a lot. Even though I have a vegan diet, I wasn't eating right and my calorie count was very high. So when I joined UP, they changed the way I was eating and worked with my vegan lifestyle to make sure that they could create the ultimate nutritional plan for me and my day to day lifestyle. Chris is on me every day to make sure that I am working hard at my goals and making progress. If I come into stressful periods in my work and life, he adapts to my needs. Which really makes me feel comfortable.
At the end of the day, I was a 3 sport athlete with many other sports as hobbies growing up, I also trained hard. After some injuries, I became lazy, ate poorly and the pounds started adding up. Tried training myself, tried other gyms and trainers, and nothing comes close to the effectiveness of Ultimate Performance, they have transformed me and my belief in personal training. They never take it easy on you, but they work with you in pushing you to your goal physique weather it is to lose weight, bulk up, become leaner, or whatever your ideal body type is, they will get you there.
I really think the experience, the team and the gym is amazing. I am so glad I signed up when I did because it has made a new person out of me and I look forward to the next 12 weeks.

I saw UP featured on the Channel 7 morning news and thought that I would try one more program! I started with the group class and started seeing results within a few sessions. I decided to sign up for one on one training with Chris. Chris is amazing. He pushes me on my workouts and works with me on my nutrition. I've lost almost 10 pounds since starting with UP. The results have exceeded my expectations. I'm at a weight that I haven't been at since high school (I'm in my 50's). I feel great! This program is not easy but if you're committed - it absolutely works!

In 10 weeks, I've lost over 20 lb, my body fat % decreased by almost 10%, and I've rapidly increased muscle mass. My experience at UP fitness has beyond exceeded my expectations. I'm sure I am one of many who has tried TONS of gyms, fitness classes, nutrition plans etc... and none have ever given me the results that I've gotten through Ultimate Performance. This place has transformations down to a science and that's why they are so successful with their clients. As someone who (naively) spent a hefty amount of money seeing a nutritionist who works with the Kardashians and training with a personal trainer who works with the Lakers, I can genuinely say I've seen way better results with UP than I ever did with those other professionals, and I know I have my trainer, Adam Davis, to thank for that.
You start out with a target weight and body fat percentage, which in my case, I was trying to reach by the end of 12 weeks. At the end of 10 weeks I can say not only am I on track to meet my goal, but probably surpass it, which really shows how effective this program is! Of course I'm elated to reach my goal weight, but even more than that, Adam has helped me reach a level of confidence in my body and appearance that I haven't had for many years. In all our workouts, he's pushed my mental and physical capabilities to levels that I never thought were possible. Even when I don't think I can push harder or go for more in a session, he always motivates me to get there because he knows I can. One of the biggest lessons Adam has taught me is to always strive for better, even if it isn't easy, which is something I know I will be applying even outside of the gym.
If I were to sum up my experience with UP it would simply be: IT WORKS. I will 100% be continuing past my initial 12-week session, as almost everyone here ends up doing. If you're lucky enough, ask for Adam as your trainer. Not only is he there for you both inside and outside of the gym, but his passion for what he does is unparalleled.

My journey at UP with Eddie Baruta has far exceeded all of my expectations of what my fitness levels, lifestyle, mental clarity and outlook on life could be. I started UP after a series of consistent, full-throated endorsements from a number of colleagues and friends that I respect and admire. As someone who is going through the trifecta of a young growing family, accelerating work pressures and aging parents, I really needed to find time for myself that would be efficient, effective and a positive influence on my health and life. Thankfully, I walked into UP. The extensive knowledge and experience, highly customized approach, and most importantly, unwavering and deep dedication to my success from Eddie, all the trainers and the entire UP community is an approach like none other. The meticulous attention to everything from each rep in the gym to every aspect of my life (diet, sleep and travel habits, mindset), and ability to maneuver around the constraints of my life / schedule continue to amaze me and produce results that I couldn’t have imagined at the start of my training. I am 5 weeks in my body transformation and so far my experience is excellent. Before I came I had a training schedule that was unsustainable from my time commitment and plateaued. My physique was kind of okay. Now I am much more leaner, lighter but look better. My trainer Christian is awesome. He is very knowledgeable and always available (via text) when I have a question. He also gave me a died which is effective and which helped me to understand what I did wrong and what my macros and cal intake should be. He is excited when I progress and motivates me when I am not having a great day. And there is another thing which I have not seen before with other trainers: they pay full attention to you all the time. They watch and check form and muscle activation and squeeze the last bit of strength out of you. Every day is more challenging than the other and 1h there is more intense than anything that I could do alone or with a personal trainer in a normal gym.If you are not fully committed it won't work but if you are, the results are amazing and worth every penny. As stated above I am almost half way through and I am excited what comes next.

I've been working out my whole life in some way or another but never seen any real changes in my body. I discovered UP and skeptically decided to sign on - I honestly thought their claims were a gimmick and had very little faith that it would work for me - maybe for those in their 20's or 30's but I'm in my 50's. Boy - was I wrong. I'm only 6 weeks into my 12 week journey and already I have lost 15lbs but even more importantly my body has changed drastically. I have tone and definition I never thought possible. My trainer, Emily, is a passionate professional who is infinitely knowledgable and extremely dedicated to my success. It's not like other gyms where you just see your trainer when you work out. Emily is in constant contact with me - making sure I'm staying the course, checking in with my nutrition, guiding me and giving me helpful tips along the way. All the trainers and clients are there for a common goal and so working out amongst everyone there is incredibly motivating - you really feel that they're part of your team as well. UP has not only changed my body but also my mind as it concerns fitness. I enjoy going to the gym now and challenging myself because I can see and feel the difference in my body and mind. I told Emily when I started that my dream was to be in the best shape of my life - and already only 6 weeks in - that dream is becoming a reality.

Ultimate Performance has been my best experience ever, when it comes to fitness and getting in shape.
Being an athlete all my life, I have always been skeptical about what trainers can do to help me “look and feel better”. After all, I know it all, right?! Well, Ultimate Performance made me rethink this whole view about trainers and trainers’ gyms - for good. It’s not just that they have the most knowledgeable trainers, it’s the system they develop for you, and the rigorous follow-up they make. I am now 50 years old, and just when I thought I was feeling great, Ultimate Performance is now making me feel that there’s is so much room for feeling even way better. I went down from 22% body fat when I started, to almost 11% (and counting!), in just a few months. I look more ripped and toned than I ever looked, even during my pro soccer years.
My trainer, David, is truly great: his knowledge, his adaptation to what I need accomplished [I just had major surgery less than a year ago], and in how he adjusts and modifies the program/system perfectly for me, are all major reasons why I love this place.
I travel a lot, but that has not made any significant negative impact on my progress, thanks to David’s dedication and to always being on point.
Most of the trainers there are very cordial, professional, and helpful. You get the positive energy that they all care about one another’s clients, something I have not experienced at trainers’s gyms before.

I have loved the whole UP experience. I've been going for 8 months, having originally signed up for the 12 week program.
It has genuinely changed a lot of stuff for me. My physical appearance has changed relatively significantly but the most important thing has been that I have felt very different. My energy levels are much higher all day, and I sleep much better. I fell healthier, lighter and stronger.
The best part of it for me is that that they teach long term sustainability, rather than a short term fad diet or training program.
David has been fantastic. He has the right balance between pushing very hard when required, and making sure that the experience is enjoyable.

If you're looking for a transformational change in your fitness and health outcomes, it requires discipline, sacrifice, and commitment. Some people are able to accomplish these goals individually and I applaud them. I'm not that person. I had always been in decent shape, but had let myself go a little bit. I was plateauing and did not have a solid strategy to change my physique. In a city like Los Angeles, there are a plethora of options to improve your fitness, all with varying promises and price points. After vetting multiple options, I decided to take a flyer on UP. I was paired with Kevin Jones, who is an encyclopedia of knowledge and incorporates scientific literature into his training programs, which enhances the legitimacy of the program. The combination of training and diet proved to be the magic elixir in my transformation. I dropped roughly 20 pounds and went from 23% to 10% body fat. Kevin was instrumental in helping push me over the edge into a result I never thought I could achieve. My disclaimer is that this program isn't for everyone. You have to truly dedicate yourself to the program if you want to see real change. You have to hold yourself accountable and modify many aspects of your life. But it's worth every penny and I'd recommend it to anyone who's truly serious about making a change.

I joined UP Fitness in Los Angeles in March 2019 hoping to lose five pounds and get in a little better shape. I did not realize that I was 30-35% body fat and that I really needed to drop 30-40 pounds, but this was the case, as hard as it was to initially admit. The training at UP is phenomenal and the personal hands on experience of the trainers is the best I have ever experienced.
I have lost over 30 pounds of pure fat, have added many pounds of lean body mass (muscle) and could not be happier about it! Also, joint soreness has dissipated, blood pressure and cholesterol have improved, as well as my general feeling of well being and happiness. Plus, after a few months at UP, training several times per week, I had to have all my clothes altered, up to six inches on some…or just had to purchase new clothing. I feel stronger and more fit, love going to my weekly trainer sessions, and working on my diet with my trainer Geoff Samson! He is incredibly knowledgeable on diet and food, its effects on the body, and is also a degreed nutritional expert!
Geoff is an experienced trainer, having trained athletes, and has designed a tailored weight training program that fits my needs and body type, and has built my endurance and increased my lean tissue. Sometimes the weight training is very intense physically and mentally, and Geoff pushes me to rise to the occasion and achieve strength milestones that I had assumed were not possible for me.
It’s not always easy for me to stick to a diet as I travel for business every other week approximately (sometimes more). Airports, hotels and business meetings are not conducive to healthy diets, so Geoff works with me to craft ways that I can eat healthy and find time to exercise on the road.
My training at UP has culminated in my looking younger and extremely fit. Friends, family, and business associates have noticed the change, and their compliments are motivating! Also, I feel more energetic and youthful in my business career!
I started to see results in the first month, and was losing 2 pounds a week, then after a few months was at 1 pound per week. I am currently in maintenance mode, however, in the new year, my goal with Geoff is to train and build another 10 pounds of lean body mass, cut fat and target a 10% body fat percentage. Since starting UP, I realized that when I thought I was eating healthy in the past, I was really eating a lot of junk and my good carbs, fats and proteins were not as defined as they are now or in balance, and I did not really understand the nutritional content of the food I was eating, which is so bad given how much processed food is available.
I am sticking to mainly green veggies and leaner proteins, have dropped over 30 pounds from my peak and went down to the 12-15% body fat range, with a renewed goal of 10%! With another hectic year of business and travel ahead for 2020, I am excited for the next step forward, and to have the renewed energy to keep up with my wife, who also does UP, and my little kids, who are full of energy and keep daddy on his toes! It's the best decision I've ever made to lose the Covid weight & regain my confidence, as well as learning how to eat better and how to maintain weight loss in a hectic LA lifestyle. Sean Chism is the best trainer!! He is not only knowledgeable, but he genuinely cares about you and your journey, while pushing you to your maximum limits. I could not have asked for a better trainer or a more helpful program. (All trainers are awesome btw, I just am obsessed with Sean).
Ultimate Performance offers the BEST app I've ever worked in (forget FitBit, Noom, MyFitnessPal, etc - all which I've tried). Their app is now public and the greatest app I've ever used to track exercise, food, learning tool, progress, etc - all in an easy to understand and review format. Seriously, they thought of EVERYTHING.
The U.P. facility (Brentwood Location) is clean and has every important equipment / machinery you can think of. And most importantly, no parking issues! Also, I love the fact that it's just the trainers and their clients in the facility allowing everyone to hustle / workout in an environment where there's no chit chat or waste of time - everyone is motivating everyone else. It's awesome. Oh, and they have great supplements!!
And finally, while it is costly, it is worth every. single. penny. Sean doesn't know this yet, but maybe if he sees this review he will find out that I plan on continuing the program with him. He and the world of Ultimate Performance, have been instrumental in helping me achieve my desired health and weight loss goals, even in my hardest moments where I struggled (and will likely struggle again) the most. Needless to say, the next time anyone asks me for a recommendation on a gym / trainer, it's just 2 words: Ultimate Performance. THANK YOU UP!!!

Ultimate performance has been completely transformative. I found UP through Instagram and saw that they had this 12 week fat loss program and I knew I had to give it a shot and see if this program really works! Previously I was at equinox but I felt no progress at all even though I did personal training with them too.
I was paired up with Chris, my trainer. Chris pushed me every step of the way, and made sure I was kept accountable even outside of the gym. What sets UP apart from other gyms/trainers or weight loss programs is that UP uses an extremely strategic and structured system and tracker and the trainer tells you exactly how much you should be eating. Every week the trainer measures your progress so you know where you are at and how much more you need to be pushing yourself to reach your goal. I reached my weight loss goal in the end and I couldn't have done it without my trainer pushing me along the way. Sometimes it just takes one person to be tough on you and most of all to believe you can do it. Thank you Chris and UP!

Trained with Cristian in UP LA for three weeks now. I do love the experience here and appreciate much for Cristian's professional guidance on my training and diet. Actually I have trained with UP in Hong Kong for half a year before, so I am quite understand and confident the training model and methodologies of UP. But I have to say Cristian is the most diligent and responsible trainer I met so far, and the result in such short three weeks surprised me as well.
Cristian helped me to focus on my training, push me hard, plan on my diet, and most importantly, motive me to keep on track. He notes down every detailed figure when I was on exercise so I could have the most accurate guidance for next better reps. He also always reminded me to adjust my diet and training plan from time to time, even when I was travelling in New York. Although it was only three weeks, I do notice the transformation happened on me, not only the lean body and less body fat, but also more confidence and energetic for myself. It is really cool.
The environment in UP LA is also quite good, comfortable and encouraging. Everyone in the gym is nice and friendly. The head coach Eddie also gave me quite a lot guidance. Thank you Cristian and UP LA team. I do hope I can stay in LA for longer time.
I would recommend UP LA to anyone who wants to get into top shape. I would say UP is not just a gym or a personal training programme, but a life style for a better man.

I was looking to make a change in my fitness and push myself, and transform my body like never before, so I decided I would look for a trainer. I came across Ultimate Performance and had a good feeling this was the place. After an initial consultation, I was paired up with trainer Cristian. I was nervous, because I had worked with trainers in the past...you know those "bros" who kinda watch you do you sets while they look at their phone, not keeping track of what you did last session, not following your struggles and efforts. You know, just....there physically but not present.
With Cristian, things are completely different. First of all, tough! With Cristian leading me through every movement, I push myself every time I step in the gym. I see myself getting strongly literally day by day. Real results, tangible and visible almost after the first session. That's what you pay for. The sessions are tough but super productive. Not a moment wasted.
This is all not to mention the personalized attention Cristian has given me in reaching my nutrition goals as well. If something isn't working, according to schedule or something, he is nimble and smart enough to have options that will still work. It's truly incredible. This is has been a challenging experience, and one that I am not yet done with, but painless under the direction of Cristian.
It's been about 7 or 8 weeks, and to make a long story short, I am in the best shape of my life, I feel more confidence, I have seen major improvements in my strength. No joint pain (I have been injured before working with other inattentive trainers). I feel healthier and better than I ever have. This is the best investment I've ever made. And it's all thanks to Cristian. I have no intention of ceasing my work with him. It's that great.
Oh, yeah...and he's a super super nice guy that I now consider an actual friend. So that's nice.

Emily is not only an incredibly knowledgeable trainer but in many ways it feels like she is more vested in my success than I am. In fact, the atmosphere that is created at UP is one of extreme positivity and motivation. From the very minute you step into the gym, everyone knows your name and greets you. They complement and encourage you to push harder and succeed. Little things like recognizing how difficult the last set of an exercise might me and then other trainers, in addition to Emily, motivating and encouraging you to push harder. I started my 12-week program with UP in early November (because it's normal to start these things right before the holidays, right?), and I am THRILLED with my end results. My trainer, Evan, was a major source of information and support throughout the entire process. He countered my grumpy self with endless enthusiasm and encouragement, and he did it with humor and without judgement. In fact, one of the things I loved about UP was the fact that all the trainers were funny and supportive. The UP gym very quickly felt like a community to me, and I will miss going there on a weekly basis.
I'm very proud of my physical transformation, but I am most proud of my change in attitude. I see now that I am capable of sticking to a program, even when it would have been so easy to cheat. UP gave me the tools I needed to succeed, and I will continue to use those tools even now that my program is finished.

I have NEVER been a person who works out or pays attention to my diet regularly. I am, however, a person who likes to complain about the way that I look and feel. Finally, after years of not doing much or sticking to any one plan, I was ready to start with UPF, because my husband saw incredible results after working with his trainer here and I was ready to make a change in my lifestyle.
I was paired up with Cristian and from the moment we began he has kept me on track and held me accountable. It's been an incredibly difficult process but I've stuck with it because I know he believes in me and I trust what he tells me we can accomplish, together.
The first session was a lot of preliminary kind of stuff- weighing in, body fat, measurements, how I use the equipment...It was hard as hell and really intimidating but that made it clear to me that this gym was going to be different from others. I got super sick the next day and struggled with my health for the next couple of weeks but Cristian continued to be very involved in helping me through that. I saw dramatic results even in the first couple of weeks because of the changes I made in my diet. Cristian and I text a million times a day, about everything, and I can't imagine getting through the last two months without that constant contact. He even gave me direction on what to eat and how to work out while I was on a trip to India. Probably the first trip I took without coming back five or more pounds heavier.
We've had to adjust our plan a couple of times based on what I'm able to do or tolerate but it has continuously felt like a team effort. I'm really looking forward to getting more into the weight part of the plan because the times that I've been able to perform in the gym have felt great. Cristian does an incredible job at showing me how to use the equipment and not hurt myself, and pushing me to go beyond what I think I'm able to do.
Even the way I eat and think about food has changed in a positive way, I feel way more informed than I used to be. So much so that the eating part of the whole plan is the easiest part. I never feel deprived or hungry and if I feel like I need to "cheat" I know how to do that in a way that ruin all of the progress we've made.
It's a really involved, intense process but it's starting to feel like more of a routine that I can live with and get used to. I've even elected to get more movement that I'm obligated to on rest days because it feels wrong not to. That's amazing for me, no joke. I used to just sit on the couch all day every day and now I actually enjoy walks.
This place doesn't mess around, you have to really be ready for it, but if you are there is no better gym to go to because it works.

The only constant in life is change, and about four months ago I embarked on my fitness journey with Ultimate Performance Los Angeles uncertain of what I would be able to accomplish or the results I would achieve. In my first week, I remember looking at the volume of before and after photos both online and on the walls at the gym, and the obvious success stories of so many people almost did not seem real or attainable in such short time frames. I never imagined I would close out this decade with less than nine percent body fat and in the best shape of my life!
In searching for a new program, It was extremely important for me to find a system that I could integrate into a very busy schedule as a finance professional that often works seventy hours or more on a weekly basis. I was always very active, worked out with a number of trainers, and participated in a variety of fitness programs throughout my twenties, but none have compared to the experience and attention to detail at UP. From the form and injury-averse nature of the exercises to the minute tweaks to my diet on a weekly or sometimes daily basis in response to my own individual progress, I developed an immediate confidence in the approach. UP is the real deal! I have to say this has been the best fitness experience I’ve encountered. I’m 47 years old and have been working out on and off since high school. I’ve tried multiple gyms, kickboxing, cross-fit, Orangetheory, many different diets, workout videos, phone apps, etc. I can honestly say I haven’t seen results like this before. After 12 weeks, working out 3 times a week, I’m down 25 lbs and 12% of body fat. That’s results!

When you sit down on Day 1 to discuss your goals, your trainer will make sure you have a realistic idea of the time and changes to your life you need to commit to. And if you’re willing to commit, to do the work, you will get the results you want.
It’s not easy. But it is that simple.
When you see trainers at your standard gym - be it 24 Hour or Equinox, they seem as interested in their phone and their Starbucks as they are in their client. And at the end of the hour, not a thought is given till the next time.
That’s not the way it is at UP. Adam checks in with me during the day, making sure I’m following my eating plan properly, doing my assigned cardio, or just telling me I did a good job with my training that day. The bond you form with an UP trainer is what drives their amazing results. They are as invested in your success as much as you are. When Adam tells me “Don’t give up on me” i know he knows I can dig a bit deeper, push a bit harder. That he wants me to succeed. And when you hit you limit, and you just can’t do another rep, he’s there to say “Good job. That was more weight than last time.” or some other aspect of how you didn’t fail.
Training at UP is a precise affair, with technical notes on form given with most every rep. Your trainer doesn’t just stand there. They circle around you, watching your sides, your front, your back. Coming in to adjust you, tap on the muscles you need to be focusing the work through. That hour you are working hard, they are working hard.
If you’re used to mega gyms that take up a whole city block, you might think UP to be surprisingly small. But with only two or three clients in at a time, and every piece of equipment there for a specific reason, it’s all you need. And after your first time down the track on the prowler, you’ll be thankful that track is not any longer. You’ll encounter equipment you’ve never seen in any gym before, none of the useless stuff, and all perfectly maintained.
The locker rooms are basic but kept clean, with self-locking lockers, toiletries, and showers that are actually hot. Pre-workout supplements and post workout protein can be had at the front and just charged to your account. A variety of carefully selected, top quality supplements are available as well.
The professionalism, the precision, the results. There’s nothing in Los Angeles like UP.

I don’t think I have the words to adequately express how much I love training at UP, particularly with my trainer, Eddie. I’ve spent my whole life trying to figure out how not to be at war with my body - no matter how fit i looked to others, I never felt good - and before I started with UP, I had given up working out for years because I was so burnt out and adamant that I wouldn’t do anything unless I KNEW it would work. I was depressed and uncomfortable in my own skin and yet too burnt out to change things up on my own. Thanks to two friends who both told me and showed me how amazing their experience was at UP, I trusted that this was as close to a sure thing as I could get, but I had NO IDEA just how much of a difference it would make and how fast. The program Eddie put me on was so simple (if not easy, I have had to put in the work, but he was there to support me every step of the way), and within days...not weeks, DAYS...my depression had lifted and I was feeling better about myself, my energy was higher, and I was inspired to do more. He made it simple to make the right choices - both nutritionally and with activity - and I was blown away with how quickly physical results were coming. And while yes, my appearance was improving visibly and that was a huge thing for me, the biggest joy has been FEELING better - stronger, more energized, better sleep, inspired in other areas of my life...it’s been a complete game changer in ways I didn’t expect. He’s been involved not just in getting visible results, but tangible improvements in my well-being. And an added bonus was that even though my work schedule took me out of town for a long chunk of time, Eddie worked with me remotely to help me make sure I didn’t lose my gains when I was away...he’s been incredible at helping me make this a change that I can carry throughout all the challenges life might throw at me. From everything I see and hear, this is the whole culture there at UP...all of the trainers are invested in their clients’ success, and it shows in everyone’s positive attitude there. If you’re unsure whether to try it or not, just go. If you’re like me, it’ll be obvious very quickly that it was one of the best decisions you ever made.

After failing to self-motivate at-home workouts and losing my way on nutrition, I turned to UP for help. I chose their 12 week program because I wanted to be sure I was building habits that would last beyond the term of the program (at the 6 week mark, while excited to see some great results, I was really glad I had another 6 weeks ahead of me to make even more progress).
I ultimately lost 19 pounds and 8% body fat, but the real victory for me was the education of the process: nutritionally, learning what my body needs to feel full and have energy, getting back into the swing of meal prepping, and having accountability for what I'm putting in my body; physically, the intimidation of the gym was shed as I was learning proper form, becoming stronger and learning how to build well-rounded, challenging workouts. My trainer Sean pushed me harder than I thought possible every session and I left each one feeling so proud and accomplished and excited for the next challenge.
A gal in the locker room asked me after her first session, "does it get easier?" And I told her no -- and I am thankful for that. Every time I could complete a full set, we went up in weight, or added reps, and that's WHY I got stronger and fitter. I've been going for about 8 weeks now and I am a believer. I was reluctant at first, but after the 1st week, I was on board. My trainer, Adam, challenges me mentally and physically. He always gives me 100% and demands that I give him 110%. Because of him, I sleep better, eat better, and feel better. Even when I'm not training he's emailing and texting me to make sure I am doing what I am supposed to be doing. It makes all the difference.
I think what really set UP Fitness apart is the accountability. The trainer's success is tied to your success. If you fail, they fail. They don't get promoted. It comes from the top down and it really shows. If any of the trainers don't give 100% during your session, Eddie (head honcho), is there to make sure you get what you paid for. There is no slacking and it's addictive.
Bottom line, if you want results, this is the place to get them. I couldn't be happier and I'm only getting started.

UPLA is a great place to train - super clean facility, A+ aesthetic, and good vibes from the trainers in there who are clearly very knowledgeable and dedicated to what they do. Programs are very robust in terms of nutrition & training and tailoring to what makes sense for you. Matt has been super helpful in getting my form, nutrition, and motivations dialed in and makes training fun (saying this as someone who usually likes to go to the gym to get away from interacting with people!) Would definitely recommend to people who are serious about achieving fitness goals.

I have been training at Ultimate Performance LA (UP Fitness) for 12 weeks, have surpassed my initial goals and now I am after new, never-thought-possible goals. UP Fitness is second to none in its highly client-focused approach and incredible attention to detail. After an initial consultation and learning about my goals, personality, and health and fitness-related background, Daniella, who coordinates new client liaison, introduced me to my trainer, Sara. Daniella took the time to listen and understand what is important to me and what motivates me, and she paired me up with a trainer who is exactly the partner that I needed for my transformation. All the trainers are very knowledgeable and extremely professional, and Sara is an athletic mentor that I never had before. The team of trainers is a cohesive team. They support each other and they hold each other accountable for their respective clients' results. I am training with Sara, and along with her the entire team of trainers has my back. Every trainer knows me, my goals and my progress. The entire team has a vested interest in my success, as trainers are incentivized based on their clients’ accomplishing previously stated results.
The UP Fitness approach is a three-pronged approach: it is weight training, clean nutrition and an active lifestyle. My trainer Sara is there for me to support me in all three! She taught me the importance of correct form while training. Correct form facilitates a very targeted training and more importantly, it prevents injury. When we are training, Sara is laser focused on every move, every angle, my breathing and my mental focus, and she pushes me to the next level. After 12 weeks, my arms are defined, my back is pronounced and my core is strong. I also lost 35 pounds, and not having to carry that weight also means a stronger performance during my cardio workouts.
Clean nutrition is an equally important component at UP Fitness. Each client has an individualized nutrition plan comprised of macro goals (grams of protein, carbs and fat intake per day). I was overwhelmed at first and during the first week, I had no idea what and how much to eat in order to stay the course. My trainer is also responsible for ensuring I follow the nutrition plan and checks my food diary daily. Sara helped me make smart choices when grocery shopping or prepping meals for the week. She is available by text if I need help staying away from bad food choices, and she helps me avoid cravings.
The third component, active lifestyle, is initially introduced by a certain number of steps you have to log each day - generally somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000 every day. But it is really about teaching you to keep your body moving throughout the day - be active throughout the day.
Clients keep a daily food diary and a daily progress tracker for body weight, nutrition (calories/protein/carbs and fat consumed), training and activity/steps. Trainers review it daily and the training team reviews each other’s clients weekly. My training and nutrition is adjusted periodically according to my progress.
After 12 weeks with Sara and UP Fitness, I am significantly leaner and stronger. Friends and family noticed a huge change in the way I look, as well as my energy level. I am down two to three dress sizes and I can run again without feeling pain in my knees. Of course I have to do the work and adhere to the nutrition plan, and my trainer or the UP Fitness team cannot do it for me. However, it is incredibly empowering to know that they have my back every step of the way. They push me, they challenge me, they cheer me on and they cheer me up, they keep me focused and they celebrate milestones and accomplishments with me. Initially, I only wanted to sign up for 12 weeks to get in shape, and now I am starting round two to become the athlete that I always wanted to be!

After only being 6 weeks into my training program with UP LA I have already crushed a goal I set with my amazing trainer ADAM DAVIS, which was to push his Silverado Pickup Truck! I’ve never felt stronger or more badass in my life!
I’ve always been a petite woman and felt physically weak when I knew mentally, I was the exact opposite. I was attending HIIT workout classes and ran marathons regularly, but I never felt strong or happy with the way my body looked/felt. I knew I liked lifting weights, but was afraid to approach them in a male dominated lifting room and doing weight lifting videos at home with minimal equipment just wasn’t cutting it.
From day one Adam was there listening to my personal goals and NEVER made me feel he was just doing what he did with every other female he was training. I'm in my mid-40s and have been stuck at a certain middle weight (not out of shape, but also not "in shape") for years and after 6 weeks at UP, I'm not only at my 23 year old weight, but have more muscle definition then ever before. He not only knew how to motivate me (push and hold off when needed), but he also really instilled in me the proper technique on how to train and lift. So much information I thought was right and was completely off. Ultimate Performance has completely changed my life for the better. Not only have I reaped all the superficial benefits of weight loss and increased tone and definition, but what surprised and impressed me the most were all the other side effects of finally focusing on my health and fitness with a dedicated, compassionate, knowledgeable, and effective training professional in a supportive environment.
I began training in January 2019. I am a mother of 3 young children in my mid-30s with zero prior experience in weight training. In fact, I’ve never had a trainer before. Prior to UP, I had not exercised in about 3 years. When I used to exercise pre-kids, it was never that intense. In short, I was someone with limited experience and knowledge of fitness and exercise. In 12 weeks, I lost all of my remaining baby weight and then some. I lost over 10% of my starting weight and 7.5% in body fat. I surpassed all my general weight loss goals and am currently at a size I haven’t been at in the past 18 years. However, while I’ve reached my 18 year old weight, I’m far stronger and healthier than I ever was at that age.
As someone with limited fitness experience, I was worried about being yelled at by a trainer, put on a really limiting (starvation) diet, and forced beyond my physical limit. None of that happened. For me, I’ve been and continue to be challenged and pushed in all the right ways to obtain results I didn’t think were possible. My trainer, Emily, not only is an expert in her field, but is extremely attuned to my personal needs, motivations, and limits. Together with her guidance, I am able to make progress, feel challenged, yet also motivated and excited about my training. In less than 6 months, I’ve now become someone addicted to weight training and eating healthy and have truly embraced an active lifestyle.
Other than the physical benefits of improved fitness, I’ve experienced so many additional positives in my life as a result of UP. As a busy mom of 3 young kids, I often woke up for the day already tired, engaged in emotional eating (e.g., cake as a reward for a hard day), and ended the day feeling completely depleted. While UP obviously cannot eliminate life’s daily stresses, it has given me a better perspective and helped me cope with my busy days. For instance, being in overall better health has given me so much more energy. With more energy I’ve been in a better mood and thus better mindset to focus on healthy eating. Eating healthier in turn provides me with more energy and motivation to maintain this healthy lifestyle. As a result, I’m a better mother to my kids and am able to go through the day with more positive energy.
I could not recommend UP more. I truly believe anyone can find success with UP. In my short time as a client, I’ve seen other clients similar to myself and many other clients older and younger, and in different stages of fitness. Currently training with Geoff and he is amazing :) Having an autoimmune condition, I had no big expectations and wasn’t looking for a miracle, rather a continuous physical activity (exercising with Hashimoto’s is a challenge and one of the very few types of sport one can do is weight training). Another challenge for me is my tight travel schedule. Geoff makes all this work smoothly and encourages me constantly! I am very happy with the results so far and am looking forward to continuing the hard work in 2020!

Can't say enough good things about UP. I've been training with Eric Bowling for two months. Eric's attention to detail both during and in between sessions is great. I've seen a huge improvement in not only weight loss and strength, but also in my attitude towards fitness. It's so much harder than anything I've done before but it's worth it beyond measure. The facility is great, the atmosphere is fun, and all of the trainers are positive and professional. The trainers know all the clients, even the ones that aren't theirs, and offer encouragement, and even tough love when necessary. Really a unique and well run studio.

There are not enough superlatives to heap on Ultimate Performance LA and my trainer Chris Weatherholtz. From the initial consultation, I just knew I made the best decision in my entire life as it pertained to my personal fitness and overall health. I was at one time a competitive athlete during college, but since moving out to LA and being chained to a desk 10 hours a day for almost a decade, poor decisions befell poor decisions with regards to fitness. I also have two children under 3 and for the last 3 years my fitness and nutrition took an even further backseat than they were. Things were dire. I might have split a few pairs of suit pants at the seat. And then I made the decision to prioritize my health, both for me, and for my family.
I came into UP with a residual hamstring injury, but having lost 15 pounds in the 2 months prior just by changing my diet. STILL, I clocked in at 22.6% body fat, 176 pounds (I’m 35 and 5’11’) and still feeling self-conscious about taking my shirt off. Well, 18 weeks later, I got down to 148 pounds and 8.4% body fat, while adding 6.5 pounds of lean muscle. It would not have been possible without UP and my trainer Chris Weatherholtz. From day one, Chris brought his positive energy and wealth of knowledge to the table, and he has held me accountable every single day since then. He has always been quick to respond to a random question via text, anytime day or night. Chris pushes me to the limit every day in the gym, three times a week, but we NEVER went beyond 60 minutes. But it really has been the knowledge that Chris, and for that matter the rest of the UP trainers, have passed onto me that I consider to be the most valuable part of this process. I now understand my body and what it needs and how it responds to food/stress/lack of sleep/exercise in a way that I never have before. That’s just the difference with Ultimate Performance. They go the extra mile to help ensure you have everything you need to be successful. Chris and I are always tweaking my diet based on my DAILY feedback. I’m now more confident in myself and my body image. I have Chris and UP to thank for that. One thing to add though, YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE WORK. UP will give you all the tools and knowledge, but ultimately, it’s up to you to put those tools into action. Chris asked me on day one if I could give up alcohol to help achieve my goals. I stayed dry for the full 18 weeks. He gave me my nutrition plan, and I didn’t “cheat” once in 18 weeks. I had the full support of Chris, Ultimate Performance and my family, and that’s all I needed. It has not been easy, but things easily attained are of little value. I’ve learned so much about myself during this process and achieved things I wasn’t quite sure were possible 18 weeks ago. My journey continues, as I am now transferring over to UP online training, but I am in the best shape of my life and couldn’t be happier with my transformation. Walking into Ultimate Performance was the BEST decision I have ever made.

Signed up about a year ago starting at 245 lbs and finished at 178 with 18% body fat. I was fortunate to have started with several sessions with Geoff before the pandemic lockdowns hit because he provided me with a basic toolkit of a nutrition and exercise regimen that I never learned to apply effectively before. I did not sign up for any online support, but Geoff went beyond expectations and checked in with me every week anyway, which I very much appreciated. Through that encouragement during the time on my own, I was able to pick things back up once we were allowed to return to the gym. He was attentive to my goal of creating a routine that will be sustainable for the long term and his background and current education on exercise/nutrition put me at ease that I was getting bro-free, thoughtful training and feedback.
On top of Geoff's support, their mobile app update was very helpful in keeping me accountable since all the elements I had to track were in one place rather than navigating between multiple apps and documents to count my steps and macros. If you look past the questionable posts and newsletters by the company/owner using the pandemic and COVID-19 related data to promote health/fitness, their overall program is robust and structured enough to produce results if you put in the intense work required.
While I did not get the ripped body like you see in all the pictures posted online, I did gain more muscle tone (and clothes that fit right!), control of my eating habits, and more confidence to walk around the weight room and pick up a dumbbell. Highly recommend working with Geoff and investing in the program if you can budget for it.

Some people in life come along and change it in ways you never imagined. (Doctors, teachers, mentors...) For me, it was Ultimate Performance.
Training there with Emily has been a life changer. I have every excuse not to be in shape. I'm nearly 40. I travel for work nearly full time, entertain customers, eat out a lot, etc. Despite all this, I dropped nearly 50 lbs in 12 weeks and went from the worst shape of my life to the absolute best.
Emily kept tabs on me nearly daily; monitoring my meals, ensuring I was getting enough sleep, and tailoring my workouts to get the best results. I realized I had to change something if I was going to lose weight and finally get fit. I saw the pictures on the walls and I didn’t really think I’d be able to make a transformation like the ones I saw.
I’m only two months in but the transformation has been nothing short of amazing. I’ve come further in 8 weeks than I was able to do on my own over the last 8 years.
Louis is the key to the change. He knows the right exercises to keep me progressing and changes the workouts as I change. Just as importantly he pushes me in the workouts right to the edge. Having that extra push and accountability has been critical.
Maybe the biggest surprise is the education I’m getting. Louis is constantly teaching me the how, what, when and why of what we’re doing. The key is the nutrition plan he put in place. Completely changed my life. A month before I started my 12 week program I weighed 175. As I write this review I still have 3 weeks left and my weight is now 153. I’ve lost fat weight and gained muscle weight. I haven’t been close to this weight in nearly 20 years. My transformation has been absolutely incredible and totally worth it. It’s a program that changes your relationship with working out, the gym, what it means to be healthy for you the individual, it inspired me to learn more about food, how to cook better, and what I put in my stomach. My experience at UP has been AMAZING thus far! I came in feeling and looking "skinny fat” — and that all quickly changed thanks to my trainer David Park! I specifically was looking to trim down for my wedding and David custom tailored my fitness program and nutrition plan to what worked for ME and for MY goals that I wanted to achieve. He took the time to teach me proper technique which made me feel comfortable on otherwise intimating gym machines.
My trainer's involvement wasn't just at our gym sessions but throughout the entire program. He would check in on me throughout the week/end and was super supportive of my fitness and wedding journey. He sent informative weekly newsletters out and was on top of confirming each week’s session. He really catered to my food allergies and was mindful of putting together a meal plan that was tailored to my dietary needs.

I did a 12 week program at UP and my trainer was Kevin Jones. I started at around 25% BF and ended at about 16% BF. Over the course of my program, I lost approximately 22 pounds.
I had been lifting for about ten years, but I had never managed to achieve the results I wanted. I started the program at UP to enhance my knowledge and to gain insight from industry professionals. The price tag was a little daunting, but consider this an investment in not only your immediate future, but your long term goals, and the price actually seems like a bargain compared to the results you can get out of it.
That being said, I could not have asked for a better trainer than Kevin. Right from the start Kevin took the time to familiarize himself with my background and goals and he tailored the program to suit me. Kevin didn't just tell me to lift heavy things and to try hard, but he explained the underlying reasons, the WHY behind each and every exercise. He expanded upon my existing pool of knowledge and made me appreciate the nuances of even the most fundamental lifts.
Kevin didn't get in my face and scream, but he did manage to push me to train harder than I would have on my own. Kevin was always motivated, even though our sessions occurred in the evenings when he was gearing up for his own debut as a professional bodybuilder. Kevin showed up for me each and every day during this program and he never wavered. I looked forward to every work out and I took away a wealth of knowledge from this entire experience. He also showed me alternative workouts I could do at my gym, which doesn't have the choice equipment available at UP (oh, and it is absolutely *choice*).
Also, have you ever actually felt every part of your lat? Doubtful. Ask for Kevin, because he's the unofficial king of lats.
All in all, a great experience, worth every cent and every ounce of effort. I will carry the knowledge I gained forward knowing that I can count on Kevin Jones as a future resource and source of motivation. I've been doing the group training for about two months and it's the best work out experience I've ever had. Chris and the other trainers strike a good balance of pushing you hard and keeping the intensity high but maintain a positive and encouraging environment the whole time. Beyond the workouts the team is really focused on nutrition and always takes the time to talk things through to make sure you're meeting your goals. I have been very impressed with the crew over at UP Fitness. I have been training there for six weeks and every session has been a huge lesson. I have been working out for years on and off with varying results. Since I have joined UP, my perceptions on working out have changed. I have had a dedicated trainer, Adam, working with me every session, watching my excercises very closely. I never realized I was doing so many excercises wrong, derailing my ability to build muscle. My first 12 week program at UP LA was more transformative than I could have hoped for. I have lost nearly 30 pounds and my body fat percentage has gone from 30% to 13%. I am thrilled with the results that I seen in the mirror. My clothes fit better, I have more energy and I am just generally happier with life as a result. I thought it was going to be a long process, but I started to see results after two weeks of steadfast adherence to my training and nutrition program. The results came faster and more consistently than with any other training program I have tried. My trainer, Onur, was constantly (but not annoyingly) checking in with me to make sure I was staying on course. If you are 100% serious about investing in yourself and putting in the work... I’d 100% recommend Utimate Performance. Don’t waste your time and energy looking for something better, it doesn’t exist.
The training environment operates similar to a D1 college and/or professional weight room (but nicer than 90% of those facilities), yet you don’t have to be a high-level athlete to participate and/or see immediate results. Everything about the experience is premium, each trainer knows exactly what s/he is doing, everything is tracked/monitored (including weekly body measurements w/ photos), and it’s impossible not to see a transformation if you’re open to the coaching. Literally impossible.
Some proof points of my personal experience. At the ten (10) week mark my body fat is down ~11%, my weight is down ~15lbs, my strength is unrecognizable... and, we’re nowhere near my ceiling. The results were so obvious and immediate that I’ve already committed to another 15+ weeks with UP/Chris.

I’ve never had a personal trainer before and wasn’t sure it was something that would work for me, much less fit into my hectic schedule. I’m a mom of 3 boys under the age of four so I’m constantly picking up and putting down children, in and out of the car and grabbing food on the go. I had a consultation with Daniella Means at UP Fitness after seeing and hearing about my husband’s incredible results with Emily. I told Daniella I was ready to give it a shot and she did a wonderful job pairing me with Adam Davis. I’m not extremely competitive and so need to be pushed here and there. After making sure I had the correct form, Adam would increase my weights and/or reps and then encourage me to keep going and to keep pushing harder. I fill in a progress tracker every evening and Adam stays on top of my nutrition, giving me tips to meet various goals and offers alternative food options (as my childrens’ scraps weren’t the epitome of eating clean and I had little time to figure it out myself)... I’ve truly loved my experience and am so impressed with Eddie’s staff and expertise.
I began to notice results after 4 weeks of training with Adam. The combination of eating clean and training hard 3 times per week is definitely paying off. I was never able to get lean on my own whether it was training in the gym by myself or Pilates - my family and friends noticed my results as well and wanted to know had changed. UP Fitness has exceeded my expectations!
Having the dedication and will power to stick to a diet and work out regimen is one thing - being held accountable by a personal trainer that tracks your daily progress is another. For me, a trainer makes all the difference. Adam has done a wonderful job educating me on which muscles to focus on based on the results/outcome I’m looking to achieve. I now feel more confident in the gym on my own but am also grateful to be able to go to a place like UP where the trainers are truly focused on reaching your target weight/look in as little time as possible. This is the first time in my life to have tracked my caloric intake and more importantly macro nutrients (ie protein, carbs and fats). I had no clue how much fat was used when eating out and even in salad dressings that I used at home. I’ve learned to pay closer attention and eat cleaner with Adam’s tools and guidance. I have more energy when I’m eating right and even get compliments on my skin looking clearer. After having 3 children within three years I wasn’t sure how long it would take me to get “bikini-ready” but after seeing results in just a month I’m excited to see what UP has in store for the coming weeks.

I'm not new to working out with personal trainers and following nutritional programs, but the experience with UP still blew me away, especially on the fat loss side.
I started at ~15% body fat, which was not too bad. My goal was to lean down to under 10%. With UP's weight + metabolic training and detailed nutritional plan, I started seeing results right away. On average, I was losing close to 1 pound of fat each week. And over the entire 12-week, I lost close to 10 pounds of fat! And guess what, the most amazing part is, I didn't lose any lean muscle. So at the end of the program, I got down to 10% body fat goal and maintained all my muscle mass and achieved the lean muscular look that I wanted.
The trainer assigned to me was Geoff, and he's really great. Very experienced, knowledgeable, patient and friendly. I also had interactions with other trainers, including their global head trainer Eddie, and they are all super nice and experienced.

Training at UP LA is like nothing I've done before. This is not a gym for you to hang out. This is next level performance one-o-one training. I'm a ultrarunner athlete coming back after a long non-running period. I choose UP LA because I trusted they would be my best shot to get in shape asap.
I started to notice the results after 8 weeks of training. I won't lie. It's a very strenuous training and obviously not fit for everyone. But I enjoy the sessions and the variation of movements. Even the repetitive exercises we need to do, I re-discovered them and understood the mechanics of each one of them. The pain is there, but the gain worth it!
I can feel that I can now run better, breath better, move better and my overall health improved immensely. It's not only about feel your body responding to the movement, but on my daily activities, I just feel more energetic and ready for everything.
I also learned that nutrition is not something you can get along with. You need to be focused and learn how to log your nutrients. I came across the UP’s website while looking at transformation stories of other people. I was a big guy for most of my life and always wanted to lose weight but couldn’t get there due to many reasons. At UP you don’t just get trained but actually learn from your trainer, it’s more like taking a class, you learn about exercise, nutrition, etc. I have learned so much about my own body that I didn’t know before. Everything is uploaded by the client on a tracker which can be annoying in the beginning but it’s worth it. It helps to be more accountable for what you eat or do throughout the day and helps you to be more mindful overtime about your food and other decisions you make even without the tracker.
If you are ready to put in work then UP LA is the best place to be, no BS you will get results if you put in work and do what you are told to do. Push yourself harder than you have ever before, and they will help you reach the best shape you ever imagined. This is the best I have looked and felt since I can remember to be honest and I am looking forward to what I can achieve with their help. Yes, it is an expense but it’s worth every single penny and trusts me you won’t regret spending a single penny.

Before I joined Ultimate Performance, I knew I wanted to be more fit and feel healthy after years of a more sedentary lifestyle, but didn't necessarily know whether it was possible, how to get there and do it in a way that was healthy and sustainable. My coach in this process was Matt Leeb in the Brentwood location. We worked together for 12 weeks, during which time I lost 20 pounds and improved my strength and endurance. Matt helped me achieve these results by teaching me good form while weight training, setting up a strong foundation for continued progress. He challenged me to work harder and realize I am capable of more than I thought. Because I'm vegetarian, I struggled with incorporating enough protein but Matt helped with dietary recommendations. Importantly, the program and Matt's coaching have helped me become more mindful of both my dietary and exercise habits. This is hugely important as I build upon everything I've learned. To start off, let me assure you, there is no other training company like UP. They are literally WORLD CLASS!! You will not get more efficient results anywhere else.
The trainers are the real deal. I've had a few other trainers over the years in an attempt to battle my obesity issues and, while they were nice and all, my results were always minimal. UP will NOT accept minimal, I don't think it's even in their vocabulary. All of the trainers here are so genuine and kind. I was over 300lbs when I joined UP 5 months ago and I was extremely apprehensive starting out as I'm not their "typical client". I was fearful of judgement and being low-key "fat shamed" but that couldn't be farther from reality. My trainer, Chris Weatherholtz, who is so insanely knowledgeable, made me feel welcome from the beginning. He is a miracle worker. He has pushed me further than I ever thought possible. I cannot believe how strong I've become in 5 short months. As though like some sort of sorcery, Chris always knows EXACTLY how far he can push my performance. When I think I can't get in the reps or there's no way I can go heavier, Chris is right behind me saying "YES YOU CAN and you'll do it RIGHT NOW!!" (paraphrasing 😉). And you know what? He is always right.
WARNING: You will be pushed to maximum effort each and every session. Your trainer is the best of the best and knows exactly how far you can go. I believe, in those moments where you are pushed beyond your preconceived limits, is when the REAL results are created. Trust in your trainer and trust in their program.
You not only get amazing 1 on 1 workouts. You also get customized meal planning. You are provided with an amazing tracker your trainer will use to observe and make modifications to your program. If you are a spreadsheet junkie like I am (yeah, I know, NERD) then you will LOVE this tracker. It's a great way to determine what macros and activity level works best for your body to get optimal results.
If you want real, actual results, this is the place. It may be a little pricey compared to the big box gyms but you could train at L.A. fitness for over a year and not get the amazing results you'd receive from UP in a fraction of that time. For this reason, UP is the Ultimate Value (pun intended).

I can't say enough good things about my experience so far at UP. I've been training with Eric Bowling and he has completely changed my thought process about everything from food, to training to sleep.
Before going to UP I honestly felt like I was in a never ending cycle of yo-yo dieting and working out 5 days a week (mostly cardio) and as I got into my 30’s I just started to see my body slowly fall out of shape. Some weeks I would feel like I was exhausted from working out everyday and I still wouldn’t see any change in my body. Although I wouldn’t consider myself overweight I was seeing how my mood and my confidence was being effected by feeling like I didn’t really know what to do. Of course it’s easy to say “eat healthy and exercise.” But I had been doing that for 15 years and after a while you start to get burned out if you don’t see the results you’re after.
Anyway… I started training with Eric and we talked about my goals and he introduced me to weight training (which, for my whole life has freaked me out because I didn’t want to look big or muscular)… and in the first few weeks I already started seeing and feeling a huge difference. I started tracking my meals and he taught me about macros.
I started lifting heavy weights and getting kind of excited about it. I got so. much. stronger. in the process. I started out being able to do ZERO chin up’s and by week 6 I was doing 7. (which is a win for me).
I started doing things like squats and working out my legs with heavy weight and honestly I have never seen my legs look smaller or leaner.
I’m still not 100% to my goal yet…but i’m excited about getting there with UP. I feel like my body composition has changed a lot in this process and since I started my goals have changed in the process too because I can now see what’s possible.

The atmosphere is great and the trainers are great. They want you to succeed as much and even more that you do. I originally got the 6 week package and have been working with Derik. I am so happy with my trainer and the results I achieved in that time. He has pushed me even further than I thought my limits were. I dropped 14 lbs, about 9% body fat and 6 inches in my waist and 10.5 inches overall. I've gained muscle as well and have gained so much strength that I can't even comprehend. I do have a long way to go for my ultimate goal, but this was a great start to my fitness journey. I am so satisfied that I just got another 6 week package. I highly recommend! As long as you are willing to put in the work, show up, and do what your trainer says, you will definitely get your money's work.

I've been training with Ultimate Performance (Brentwood) since mid-December 2018, with the goals of becoming more fit while losing weight. Under the guidance of my Personal Trainer Andre Habowsky, I am pleased to say that I have gained strength and improved stamina, and have lost 24 pounds in 11 weeks! Andre is very attentive and imparts his bodybuilding expertise and training wisdom into each workout.
The gym provides a professional, yet comfortable and clean environment in which to work out, and all of the Trainers are friendly and helpful -- many even know my name and greet me upon arrival, even though I've never worked out with them. They are serious about their business and really want you to succeed, so expect to put in the necessary efforts and dedication to achieve your goals (through proper nutrition and exercise/workout techniques, all of which will be shared with you).

I was traveling to LA from Washington DC and didn’t want to miss a workout so I checked in at UP Los Angeles for a one hour session with Matt Leeb. The gym was busy but all the trainers worked with their clients and didn’t get in each other’s ways, and I received the same consistent, exceptional experience I’ve come to expect. Matt had my progress from my DC trainer ready to go, pushed me hard, was mindful of some minor limitations we had to work around, and left me tired but feeling like I had continued to progress. That was just what I needed, and I’m grateful that I was able to keep things moving in the right direction. We started on time; we finished on time; we got everything done we were supposed to. Seamless.
Overall, the location was clean, busy, and full of people working hard. That challenged me to do likewise. I will definitely return any time I have to travel to LA.

I have worked with trainers on and off for the past 15 years and UP has completely changed everything for me in the best possible way. The trainers are not interested in trying to sell to clients, and in fact, they can't. Their job lives and dies with your results, which is different that anything i have experienced.
When i first met with the manager Dani after hearing about UP, I told her i wanted a 6-pack but felt like i never really get one. I thought it was just my body composition. She literally guaranteed me that I was wrong and i'll have one. I have never had a trainer guarantee me results. Of course, i had to promise i would follow the program but still...i've followed ALOT of programs and not received results.
Then i met my trainer Emily (who somehow is now in my head everytime i eat anything or workout while travelling) and the training has been intense but simple. No hours of cardio, no training 5-7 times a week in the gym, so starving with low calories, no bag of supplements i had to buy. I see her 3 times a week for an hour, keep active in my life and eat properly based on her plan. Doing this the results have been consistent and amazing. I have had trainers basically run me into the ground and received 10% of the results i have received in a couple months with Emily. We work out hard but with proper form and slowly, every rep counts and form is everything. What's also great is that she checks in with me at night, on weekends, when i had an ache or pain she makes sure i'm resting or it's healing and makes sure i get my rest. I sleep more now, get less injuries, train less than the past, and get 10 times the results.
UP is best investment I have made in myself in years and as someone who has spent tens of thousands over the years in training, this is the first time i was guaranteed results and got them. I can't wait to keep it going and what i have learned about being healthy has been invaluable.

I live in New York and first got to know Ultimate Performance in London on a trip overseas. Over the last 10 years I have trained with a variety of people, including Halevy Life in NY and Cordell Fitness, which I consider both to be excellent trainer gyms.
London was such an incredible experience I was giddy with excitement to fly to LA on a business trip recently.
In my experience, nothing has come close to the quality and goal-oriented culture at Ultimate Performance. While my technique is solid with the other trainers, nobody has perfected it like Nick and his team. I really can't thank them enough for re-mapping how quality training should be. I gather they get your goals done in 1/4 of the time based on their scientific approach alone.
Atmosphere:
Posh, high quality and serious. It feels like your own personal higher scale gym but with the most tailored and compelling equipment I have trained with. Would you want anything else when you pay around $200 / session? They are modern with a strict equipment adherence to maximize all of your muscle groups. Insanely impressive.
My session with Derik:
Derik crushed me. He was fantastic and his attention to micro detail shows and boy does this make a difference. I have been pushed by a lot of people but this session is engrained in my mind and I can't wait to fly back to LA again soon.
Sense of Teamwork:
Everyone checks up on you. They have constant team meetings to make sure every client is making huge progress. It's a big deal for them: they want real outcomes and they don't mess around for one nanosecond.
My view:
If they were in NYC I would train with them every single day forever. I am completely sold. I would never go anywhere else if that was an option.

After training for about six weeks with UP LA (12-week program) they have blown away my expectations in terms of the results I've enjoyed and the quality of the training. My assigned trainer, Cristian, has been fantastic to work with.
I would emphasize that they are extremely professional with a rigorous and systematic framework that is followed worldwide. If I could use an analogy, they would be akin to a big business consulting firm. Simply professional, polished, experienced and knowledgeable. When I first spoke to UP, they kept using the word "transformation"... "get ready to be transformed"... "when you go through your transformation"... etc. I was a bit skeptical, but indeed, I've seen a huge transformation in just 6 weeks.
Some hard stats after just six weeks of my 12 week training program:
- Lost over 10% of my body weight (16 lbs)
- Body fat percentage declined from 26% to 20%
- My clothes don't fit anymore having dropped two belt notches and about 2-3 inches off my waist
- Blood pressure dropped from a range of 120s/80s to 100s/60s
- Cholesterol dropped from 230 to 160
- Roughly speaking, I have been losing a little over a pound in weight and 1% of body fat per week on average. Also, the 16 lbs I've lost so far are net of 3 lbs of lean muscle mass gained!
Only halfway through my program, yet my physique is nearly back to where it was when I was in college 20+yrs ago. I also have more energy throughout the day and generally feel better and healthier.
One of the best things about training with UP is how much I'm learning along the way about diet and how to train. I think diet is half (or more) of the battle and there is an intense focus on tracking and understanding your diet and how to plan your diet to reach your goals. They are systematic and don't leave much to chance. The weight training is very controlled, slow, low-impact, yet very intense at the same time. I feel comfortable knowing that they will push me hard but are very diligent about preventing injury. Although I lifted weights when I was younger I never learned the proper technique. Let's just say that learning the right way to those same old exercises has been eye opening.
I believe I can apply what I'm learning for the rest of my life. I realize that most people exercise and diet and cross their fingers with hope for positive results. In contrast, UP has taught me that it's more like a formula. You need to know how to be be precise, measured and plan for an exact outcome.

They have the best technique’s for maximizing transformation with the least amount of time. I started training with Eric just to get in shape and feel good being healthy and fit. Always pushing for best results, Eric talked me into getting on stage competing for men’s Physique body building. This was never a thought in my mind, after the first competition I looked at this as a tool to push myself to reach unthinkable goals. I wake up in the morning looking at myself in the mirror and thinking is this really me. The feeling can’t be matched. Others spend money on alcohol, clothes, shoes food, and dining out everyday and wish they can look better but never do anything about it. Same action same results. Invest in yourself take the steps I did and you will understand later that this was the best investment you will ever make.
What you get at this gym that you don’t get at others; one on one training with the top trainers that have been tested before hired for experience with training nutrition and communication with others, progress picture weekly or biweekly, along with body fat measurements done with the progress photos, and a daily tracker that keeps you accountable while your trainer is checking daily.
The best motivation is results! People that notice the change and ask you how you achieved such great results also fuels the motivation. Other trainers in the gym I’ve never spoken to know my name and know what my strength and weaknesses are and what I struggle with as the trainers all share techniques between each other! I struggle with shoulder, knee and back injuries from a previous car accident and the trainers customized our workouts around my injuries. I was definitely on the fence joining this gym and spending that kind of money, but seriously it’s been the best investment ever. My girlfriend started training with Eric let’s just say in a short period of time she has friends and coworkers asking her what she’s doing and telling her she looks great. Geoff has been amazing at pushing me beyond my perceived limits. I was in a workout rut and couldn't seem to get passed a certain point. This would cause me to get frustrated since I was not seeing the results I was working so hard for. Geoff did a complete full assessment, from the types of food I was eating, the amount of food, how much sleep I was getting, my stress level, and of course the types of workouts I was doing day in and day out. My body responds a little slower to change than I would like, so it took about 7 weeks before ANYTHING started to budge -- talk about frustrating! But Geoff told me to just stay with it and I'm glad I did. After that, everything starting falling into place. The scale has dropped consistently, I'm now seeing muscle definition, and my clothes are fitting better if not looser. Most importantly, Geoff taught me how to workout more efficiently. In January 2020 I was looking for a gym that would transform my body. I chose Ultimate Performance because their transformations are phenomenal. Kevin was my trainer and is a wealth of information. He always provided thorough answers to each of my questions. Kevin also has an immense amount of integrity. At one point, I started to make the same old mistakes with food. But because he kept me accountable every single day, I managed to reel it in and stay focused.
I was making real progress, but then COVID-19 hit. Fortunately, I signed up for the Lockdown Program and continued working with Kevin from home. In addition to the virtual training sessions, I sent him lots of videos of me performing the exercises to be sure I had proper form. He would respond with follow up videos showing how I could improve.
Unfortunately, I hit another snag in my fitness journey a few months into quarantine. I tested positive for COVID-19 in June and went from exercising six days a week to zero. For several weeks, I exercised off and on, as much as my body would allow. All the while, Kevin modified my workouts to reflect my ever-changing health situation. Thankfully, I made a full recovery.
After almost eight months at U.P., I lost nearly 20 lbs. and went from 32% to 22% body fat. I never imagined I would love what I see in the mirror, but here I am, loving it!
I’m grateful to Kevin and Ultimate Performance for transforming my body and mindset. It’s not easy, but it’s worth every damn penny!

tl;dr In 5 months with U.P I’ve lost 45 lbs and 20% body fat, training with U.P has been one of the best decisions I’ve made I'm in the best shape I've been and truly feel 10 years younger.
I started seeing results about a week after I started training when the weight started to fall off. My program was a combination of 3 weight training days a week and a comprehensive and detailed diet plan.
When training at U.P you don't just lose weight and gain muscle you also learn a lot, the first thing that hits you is how terrible you were training before, form and technique matters, reps for the sake of reps not so much. Most importantly in my mind you learn a lot about nutrition and what works for you and your body.
This isn’t your regular ‘I’m gonna spend some time at the gym with a trainer to quiet my guilt’ kind of place, you will work very hard and they will push you well beyond what you think your limits are and the results will follow shortly after.
It's not a question of if they can get you where you want to be (they have done thousands of transformations and wrote the book about it, literally) it's a question of how much are you willing to commit to this process, like my trainer Eric always told me 'you get out of it what you put into it' and I couldn't agree more.

I came across UP by just googling "personal training in LA." At my first meeting, Eric took the time to talk to me about "why" I wanted to do this. I honestly didn't have an answer. My wedding was 5 months away, but more than anything I wanted to learn about nutrition, exercise and foster a lifestyle. I am a physician that works anywhere from 10-12 hours a day on average. I tell people daily to "lose weight and exercise." But what does that really mean? I wanted an individualized approach to truly give my future patients the best advice. My motivation was more internal than external, but my journey thus far has been incredible...
I have been involved in private training sessions with Derik at UP for approx 6 weeks now. I bought the 3 month package to start with. This investment in my own body and health has been the hardest and most rewarding experience I have ever gone through. (Yes, even more difficult than medical school.) I'm 28 years old, 5' 7" female, started at 126lbs and 30% body fat. I am only half-way through my journey and I have lost 7 lbs and more importantly, 5% body fat. I haven't been this low in weight since high school!
UP will not only kick your a$$, but every trainer there is knowledgable about coaching, lifestyle goals, nutrition, body mechanics and fosters a positive attitude. The trainers live a similar lifestyle and have gone through everything we are/have been going thru. Everyone at this gym has become my motivation and more importantly a friend to confide to, cry to, text daily if I'm feeling off and more importantly--sweat on!
Being a female, I can get some negative feedback saying--"you're so skinny, why are you training so hard?!" It's not JUST about losing weight. I wanted to feel stronger, tone up, gain muscle mass, learn how eating clean synergistically works with the effort you put in the gym. Fortunately, Dani and Taylor have also been incredibly motivational in sharing similar experiences and connected with what I was going through. This experience has taught me what it means to have time management, daily self discipline and to better yourself everyday.
I recommend this to anyone sincerely trying to make a full lifestyle transformation. FYI-being a vegetarian hasn't hindered me either! They provide you with full meal plans, nutrition trackers and go over everything with you daily.
Lastly, I have also tried the group classes in conjunction with my private training. We motivate each other, we yell and complain to each other, but more importantly we LIFT together! #WeatherMeltdowns are the BEST!
Honestly I can't say this enough. Everyday I leave UP, I feel like a better version of myself. I didn't think I could ever achieve the results I have thus far, and I haven't ever been this happy about my overall health. Derik--you have been nothing short of incredible. You push me when I can't anymore, pick me up when I fall to the floor of the gym (as I win the dramatic Oscar of the year), and always aim to get an extra rep out of me. Thank you for everything thus far, I can't wait to see what 6 more weeks will do!

Now that we are shutdown and no gym I am still getting coaching from my trainer Matt who by the way is a great person who really understands nutrients and how to incorporate workouts that help you achieve your goal.

I grew up in Martial Arts from when I was 7 to 21years old – got my black belt and was pretty fit! Then, life got in the way and adulthood responsibilities became much more important than my physical appearance. Needless to say, my 20’s didn’t really experience physical workouts. Sure, I did dabbled in group classes such as barre, cardio, some cross-fit, whatever other classes seemed interesting, but I didn’t see any real changes to my body from any of those and found myself getting bored very quickly. By the time I hit 30 I realized I was tired of feeling lousy and always tired and looking super pudgy and not toned. I used to be super fit and the day I found myself saying “back when I was younger…” I realized I didn’t want to be that person that lived in the memories of the past. I wanted to be proud of my body as it was but at that moment, I was very sad that I let myself feel so pudgy and sad. By my late 20’s, I started dancing again. I LOVE dancing and found myself doing it almost daily to find technique again and just plain kill it on the dance floor. After 2 years of onstage performances in very revealing outfits I discovered that although I was physically active my body didn’t look or feel as good as it should. Afterall, I was still pudgy.
In early 2019, tired of feeling tired and pudgy, I told a friend I needed to really make real changes to my body. She mentioned UP and after seeing her results I was convinced I needed to join. My initial goal was to lose weight and to start weight training in hopes of losing the pudge. But I discovered that UP is wayyyyy more than just personal training for the body. It transformed my body AND transformed my mental awareness of so many things: my eating habits, workout habits, sleeping habits, bathroom usage, everything down to my relationships with food and family. Its all changed thanks to the UP program. I finished my 12 weeks and signed up for 12 more weeks. At the end of my 24th week I had a dance performance in San Francisco (front and center!). I loved the way I looked on stage, how I felt, and most importantly the stamina I had for that show. My family and friends have all noticed the difference in my weight, my skin, my attitude and my overall confidence and well-being. Most importantly, I feel amazing! I feel in control of my choices and I feel alive and confident in my body now. I feel better than I have my whole life. David-my trainer-taught me so much. He taught me about myself.

Highly recommend Derik Scott. He is committed to your success and has a great balance of pushing you and encouraging you. I have completed 9 weeks of training so far and have been very pleased with the toned and fit form that I have achieved.
For a bit more detail, I have somewhat of an athletic build and have always been fearful of lifting weights, as I bulk up quite easily. Derik has had me lifting more than I ever have and no bulk-up has occurred at all. I have actually achieved a slim down in the tricep area that I thought would only be possible with lipo/surgery. Ladies, I highly encourage you to seek out training at UP (and especially with Derik) before taking more drastic measures.
Last point - the training is not a cake walk. You must be committed. Push through the hard parts and the results will manifest!

There's a lot of people who spend money on clothes, cars, food, bars etc. That's lost money. Hey Dumbdumb! You're doing it wrong. Spend money on your health because you've got nothing without it. Your health isn't a cost, it's an investment. Ultimate Performance is the kind of investment that gives you the knowledge to get dividends for the rest of your life. I found them because social media knew I was looking to get in shape and their ads showed up in my feed. I did a internet deep dive, read the reviews, saw the results. I went in when the gym when first opened up and it and it's the real deal. It's nice.
Of course, a gym is only as good as the people who work there and everyone on the UP team is truly dedicated to their craft. Day in and day out they bring their expertise and motivation to help you achieve success.
I say help, because the results are really on you. You have to do the work. Your success will be because you have discipline to do what they tell you to, even when no one is watching. If you're going to cut corners, don't waste of your money. If you're willing to put your trust in them, and do what you're told, and push yourself harder than you've ever pushed yourself, you'll reap the rewards.
In the past, I thought I was in shape. I assumed I knew most stuff about the gym, but the reality was that I was clueless. UP opened my eyes. At the end of my first session I laid on the ground, gasping for breath, heart pounding in my ears, and thought "I have made a terrible mistake." But I didn't quit. I wasn't going to let them beat me. I kept at it. Two months later I'm in the best shape of my life on the home stretch of my program. I've got muscles I've never seen, my weight is where it was 10 years ago, I have gained confidence that I know how to eat properly and maintain my body after the program ends, and I've made some awesome new friends in the people who got me to this place.

After meeting with the gym manager and realizing this would be a life changing moment for me, I joined Ultimate Performance September 21, 2021 weighing 192 lbs standing at 5'7". I started my 12 week program and I am finishing my first round December 21, 2021 weighing 157 lbs. I set out to write a review of my time here at Ultimate performance, and more specifically with Chris Weatherholtz, and I was shocked at how difficult a task it would prove to be. Not for a lack of positive things to talk about, no not at all. No, it has proven difficult because I find myself fearing that I wont properly put into words how eternally grateful I am to have found this incredibly special place, and thus would fail to convince somebody to take the first step in potentially changing their lives forever.
Seems like a pretty dramatic statement as I read it back: “Life changing.”
But it is. Plain and simple.
I have considered myself an athlete for most of my life. I played sports as a kid, and transitioned into the weight room as an adult. But over the past few years, I found myself lost. Drowning in a sea of conflicting and more importantly miss-information from so called “professionals” who populate our social media feeds. Never have I felt so lost. “Carbs are bad!” “Cards and Good!” “Do lots of cardio!” “Don’t do cardio if you want to get big.” And on and on and on...
If you are reading this, I don’t know if you can relate, but I was fed up trying to stick to a plan that, to be honest, I had absolutely no faith or assurances that it would even work. I was beginning to lose hope.
Then I found Chris and the team at Ultimate Performance. After my first sit down interview, I was in. Not only was it clear how knowledgeably the team was, but there I was, sitting in a room filled floor to ceiling with success stories of people’s transformation, and for the first time in my life, I could see my self reaching my own goals. I could see my own spot on the wall. And I could see my story helping show someone else, sitting in my chair a year from now, that they too can finally achieve their goals, and that they have come to right place.
It’s an incredible feeling to have somebody believe in you and want you to achieve your goals just as much as you do. That’s what I feel from Chris. Every time he cheers for me, and ever time he pushes me to be better. He wants me to be on the wall. Not for him, but for me. Because these trainers are a cut above. It isn’t about success for them, its about significance. And let tell you, it is a feeling like nothing I have ever experienced.
Now I know I have made it sound as if by signing up, everything will be amazing and we’ll all be fit and happy, and everything is wonderful... but I do feel it is also my responsibility to tell you that this is the hardest thing I have ever done.
It’s simple, but far from easy.
They will give you the roadmap, and be your guide, but you still have to do the walking yourself, and let me tell you, its a road like I’ve never faced before. Pushing my body and mind to the limit, each and everyday.
But that’s the beauty of having the a guide. One who has walked the path before you and can say I know its hard, I know its scary, but trust me, just put one foot in front of the other, you are right where you are supposed to be.
I’ll leave you with this. If you have gotten this far in my long winded remarks, then you are probably looking to see whether this is all too good to be true. And all I can say to you is, if you give UP everything you’ve got, it will give you everything you have ever wanted. Good luck on your journey, and as they say at UP, I’ll see you on the dance floor.

I've been training here for about 2 months - I had been lifting for a couple years but had reinjured my torn labrum which kept me out of the gym for months. I decided to train here with Julian and he's been great. I hadn't flat barbell benched in years due to worries about my shoulder, but Julian showed me the form to not reaggravate it. I always have a ton of questions about form especially in regards to bigger movements like squat and deadlifts and Julian has been exceptional in not only showing me the correct form, but also what I'm currently not doing correctly.
I didn't come in with the goal to lose fat, but the measurements, tracker, and diet were all major focus points and I've lost over 10 pounds already.
Would recommend Julian and UP to anyone looking to learn more about fitness and get in better shape!

I used to go to the West Hollywood location (was also incredible), but switched to this one when I moved to Santa Monica. The gym has all the equipment I need to get a great workout, but what really sets it apart are the trainers. In particular, Sean is an amazing trainer who has helped me achieve results I never thought were possible.
From day one, Sean has been pushing me to do my best and helping me set achievable goals. He's incredibly knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition, and he takes the time to explain everything in a way that's easy to understand. Thanks to his guidance, I've been able to make progress and achieve better and better results with each passing week.
What I appreciate most about Sean is that he's always positive and encouraging, even when I'm having a tough day (or sometimes a week). He helps me stay focused on my goals and reminds me of how far I've come. I always leave our training sessions feeling motivated and energized.
Overall, I can't recommend Ultimate Performance gym and Sean as a trainer enough. If you're looking for a gym that's welcoming, supportive, and has great staff, this is the place for you.
