Downtown pilot fitness is very spacious and clean. The music not blasting so you can concentrate on your work out safely. The staff is professional once again planet fitness staff are well trained well mannered and very professional. That’s amazing thank you planet fitness for clean showers and bathrooms and a very clean carpet at your facility and again thank you for very good lighting. I like that.

I want to rate this location higher because the customer service is great. However it takes a while to fix machines not that they break often. And we need more multiple machines because the wait time is becoming longer. It sounds like a lot but this location is pretty good definitely one of the better locations. It's very clean, not noisy and overall has a nice amount of equipment.

The gym is clean, i guess. Apart from having to tolerate teens fooling around everywhere during the summer promotion, you also share restroom and showers with homeless people that practically live in the lockers, if this wasn’t the closest gym to my place I would not be here unfortunately.

It really depends on which one planet fitness you go to and the people that work there the one off eToro have mostly good people with one bad guy there. He isn't nice at all. The place is pretty clean so happy about that. I do like the hydro massage and the locker room is nice.

Planet Fitness is Open again. It is not that busy and there's plenty of sanitizing stations. Unable to shower at the gym at the moment but it's understandable. Everyone is expected to wear a mask. Every other machine may be used only to social distance a bit. $20 a month for the black card.

The Customer Service here at Planet Fitness DTLA has gotten so much better! The staff is very helpful and informative. I don't expect anyone to go above and beyond there duties at work but they do. And they really care about the cleanliness of the gym. This gym is great. If you're looking for a gym, this is the one to go to. You will not regret it.

I just bought a Black Card at this club location, because I moved from Venice, to the city. My first time signing in was quick and easy, but the experience was still weird. They watched us closely, while I was trying to tour the gym my first day to see where everything was. It felt like they followed us around as well, as if we were up to something. Never had that happen at a gym. Even when I went back tonight, I kept seeing the same worker over and over again regardless of the floor I was on. My second time signing in tonight didn’t make any sense. I’ve paid my membership, as I just bought it THREE days ago. I told him my phone number, and he goes “[Name]?” I confirm, and he says “It’s saying you’re not allowed to work out at this location.” Not allowed? So I’m like, “I was just here 3 days ago when I bought my membership, and everything was fine. I don’t understand.” He says “I don’t know, did you pay your membership?” To which I replied, “Yeah, I just got it a few days ago, and there was no issue when I came in then.” He said it wouldn’t bother him if I went in and worked out, which was nice of him. I’m just left confused, because this months charge has been taken out of my account. Which means that I’m definitely still a member. I signed up at that specific club location, as well. Overall the club is nice. It’s vibey, and the equipment is very nice. There are tons of areas to utilize, and a good weight selection. There’s 3 smith machines! Plenty of benches, and always more than enough treadmills open.

I hope that the owner/manager has the opportunity to read this review because it is well deserved for a employee at Planet Fitness. Whether that is a handshake, pat on the back or better yet a raise and some type of reward, the gentleman at the front desk, OLIVER is a stellar team member of this gym. I work for a class action lawsuit company and on the side when I don’t want to pull my hair out, I do personal training @ Equinox. His calm demeanor is the type that Equinox loves having at their front desk. I am A type personality and difficult at times. The first time I met Oliver, I gave him a hard time about my membership… he was poised, calm, consistent. He is thoughtful, asks good questions, follows through when I want to use the total body red light therapy, displays a positive attitude. Some of the other staff members, I don’t care for, they have an attitude, but I want to put in a good word for Oliver because the front desk is the first thing people notice when they come to the gym. When he is at the front desk, I know that I am in good hands. He’s trustworthy. Job well done 👍

Love this gym! Always clean and machines get repaired quickly. However, the stair masters are always breaking down with an error code. 3 out of 8 stair master machines work. I hope these get fixed soon!

The gym and location is pretty good if you live in the city. If you are one to use the public transit then this gym will definitely fulfill your needs with convenience. However as of late they have had a shortage of hook clips which disables most of the gym goers from using a good amount of machines with clip hook attachments. I’ve opted to purchase my own hook clips for my personal use at the gym however if you are paying for a gym membership (and black card at that) you would expect for simple equipment pieces to be available. The staff has said people are stealing them however even with the new equipment check out system it still doesn’t solve the issue of a lack of clips for the machines and gym goers. If you are looking to have the full option to use as many machines as possible without having to purchase items to use the machine themselves you may want to look for other gyms in the area or another location Planet Fitness because you’ll definitely feel limited otherwise.

The place is great and big I always do my work out at 5 am and they never have paper towels or hand sanitizer in any station in the lower part of the Gim, and right now we are just getting out of the pandemic they should put more attention on their employees work on daily basis.

Love the location, size of place, price, and cleanliness (besides the water fountains that they nevvvver seem to clean the mouth pieces as there is red lipstick there past 3 months and all water faucets of sinks in changing rooms could be cleaned). People always want to gripe anywhere but this place gets the job done and is great in a town of overpriced gyms. Ha

Love the feeling of being fit, strong and able to take on what comes my way. Love that the front counter people are eager to help out and even greeted me with a smile. The hydromassage bed is wonderful especially for back aches. It's kept clean and the employees take their job seriously. I noticed people cleaned the equipment after each use too love that. The gym is big but I find the clip issues annoying. You have to rent a clip for the cable weights upstairs but the weights are downstairs. I personally find they have a tremendous selection of cardio treadmills but not enough weights. To me it would make sense to have the whole bottom floor dedicated to weight lifting it always feels cramped. I come from another Planet Fitness and I always feel rather annoyed with the layout and workflow of this gym. I do appreciate it is 24 hours so I will try off peak times.

Not bad for a cheap gym membership. So far I have not had any bad experience. As I walk in I get to see someone attentive at the counter and greeted. None of the machine seem to be out of order. Clean floor, Halls, walls, equipment, neon decorative lights work and hope they keep it up. Restrooms are clean and is always great to see. Clean, none smelly air and is always fresh. Again not bad for a cheap membership gym. Entrances from both sides. Will continue to come and do my quick workouts.

I think its a great place to work and just be yourself completely. No weird stares or mean people. It's honestly just the best gym I've ever been to and I totally recommend to people who are shy but have no idea where to work out. You should definitely give the gym a try :)

My first time at DTLA Planet Fitness was great! I worked out on the treadmill for 30 minutes. It was a blast! I arrived at the gym on Sunday around 7:15 a.m. It wasn't crowded. As I worked out, I needed to wear a face mask. I also noticed the social distance signs on every other machine. It's a very clean place. It's affordable! I will return!

I signed up last year in November. I've been going there a few times a week. It was great. I have more energy and strength. I lost alot of weight since then. The staff are pretty nice. The facility is pretty clean as well. I really like planet fitness. It's the best.

I live in Beverly Hills California but normally go to the Burbank location I am a Black Card member.. I am in Downtown LA all the time to visit my boyfriend so I’m always at the Broadway Location. Great gym never been dirty from what I’ve noticed... great staff great environment.. However there are a few things that could improve the gym needs more Bathroom stalls and a larger shower area. The Gym is huge compared to most locations and it’s busy so certain things should be made to accommodate the amount of people in the gym.. also there should most definitely be more Hydro massage chairs for both areas. Burbank has 3 but it’s much smaller.. Also black card members should get a little more perks. I’m charged full price for my drinks but other locations I get a discount for being a black card member.. I wish you guys would invest in a Steam Room I’d totally pay more money and the weight area should have more weights or at least make a area on both levels.. other then this I love the gym you guys are New so I’m just giving advice. Thanks for being amazing 😀

This place is excellent. Staff is always friendly and greets you as you come in. For a cheaper gym membership, this is really nice to have. I do have some pressing concerns, which is why I only gave it 4 stars (for a downtown gym, heavily populated during rush hours and weekdays after 5pm, these concerns are very much present during these hours). This is mainly equipment, but with the heavy crowd it gets, these can be a problem. -limited number of adjustable benches: out of the entire gym, there are about four to five benches, not including those placed between the smith machines (if you're doing any kind of presses with weights, you need the bench, obviously). However, two of them are regular, non-adjustable benches. So you've got three adjustable benches for the entire gym. You're out of luck if all three are taken. There's space for more and they are not nailed to the ground, so...more would be optimal. -incline benches: only three--one is always taken with a smith machine, so two is pretty limited. They're also non-adjustable, and I have to go out of my way to grab separate weight plates to adjust the height. even though it's hardly much an increase. -smith machines: only three, and you're lucky if you get your hands on one. Every now and then, some member will so graciously take one up for an hour and staff can be limited (yes, it is very noticeable that only two staff members are on the floor and they are obviously busy taking care of their responsibilities--that's their job and they should not be pressed for that; this is a management issue and it needs to be addressed) -barbells: very limited, with only one 20lb. and 60 lbs. bar, two 50 lbs. and two 40 lbs. and two 30 lbs. And the max is 60 lbs., so if you need anything heavier, you have to resort to other equipment, which are also high-demand ones. I've been to other clubs with up to 90 lbs. -multi-function cable machines and equipment attachments: this is a nice touch--busy gym needs multiple cable machines and three (so 9 workout spots). Unfortunately, the detachable equipment is limited (two rope pulldown attachments, and one of every other attachment) -bathrooms: it's a gym bathroom, so it's obvious it won't always be clean. That's not the issue. The issue is the hand dryers. There's a sign that says it's trying to be eco-friendly by reducing waste of paper towels by having none at all. Great! But all throughout the gym, you have paper towel dispensers that always run out and are always being used...this is really counterproductive and is totally worsened by the fact that the sink counters are always wet. So forget about setting any of your things down--there are no paper towels to clean/dry them up. This is a great gym for regular gym routines and I'll still keep using it.

I didn't go to Planet Fitness. Presently, I own dumbbells and resistance bands. Although I used to be really muscular & ripped right now I just workout for endurance and weight maintenance. My strength never really goes away. I gained a few pounds over the spring. LOL. What I do find interesting is that in some neighborhoods the genders teach one another how to be better. Like, if you're a female it's a good idea to find out how to be prettier and more fit from pretty and fit females, especially if you're going to flirting with people. If you're a guy, green guys take lifestyle tips from other well meaning, 'secure' guys. For me, guy things just come naturally to me although I believe anyone can benefit from improvement. Gyms are ok and I've used them in the past, mostly, 30 years ago but you can gain and maintain fitness outside of any gym. It's easy to build a home gym. Right now, Walmart has an Olympic weight set for less than $200.00. I hear Planet Fitness has cheap memberships. Cheap is good sometimes but not if other features are lacking. For example cheap napkins are good for random snacking but not for dinner parties. Cheap gym memberships might be ok if the gym is not infested with staph microbes and doesn't smell unpleasant.

This is my first time attending this gym. I hadn't been to a gym in many years. I don't feel intimidated here. They have so many machines that I never have to stand and wait. The gym is two floors and has a nice floor plan. The staff is very friendly. Great location because I only work a few doors away and I have monthly parking one block away. I have been coming to this gym since June 21, 2016 and I am actually enjoying working out. Time sure flies when you are here. The first couple of days I have been here my sessions have been two hours. After those first two days I got a routine where I am here only one hour and a half. I had the privilege of meeting their trainer Cory who is amazing. He is very knowledgeable. I attended their "Design your own Program" which was done by Cory. I am looking forward to my new workout routine. Stop by and say hi to Cory.

My bf and I used to come here to workout. The gyms overall nice with helpful and friendly staff. The gyms afforable with 2 typed of memberships $10 for regular and the $20 for the black card members you get access to the tanning booths and massage beds and plus you get to invite a guest. The gym has lockers and showers but no towels so you need to bring your own. The problem of this gym is it gets to packed especially during 4-5pm equipment here gets taken up like no tomorrow so if you see a workout station open take it.

Enjoy going to this gym! I live just a mile away so its nice to warm up on my way to the gym. I'm only in there in the early mornings and there is maybe 10 people from 4AM to about 6AM. Have not experienced the peak hours but there are a good number of machines to work on. Cons: Wish they had more free weights and a platform without the Smith Machine. An addition leg press would be nice as well. Pros: Staff is always nice and I have always seen someone cleaning something. Open 24 hours. Lots of machines.

I come here often, about 3-4 times a week. I never had problem with the staff, I always get greeted when I walk in and the place is pretty clean in my perspective. Well worth the price you pay. I'm a "black card" member and the massage beds/chairs make it so worth it.

Love planet fitness, I have been part of planet fitness for 2 years and recently moved to LA from PA, sadly this location doesn’t have a parking lot ... such a horrible decision specially if it’s located in Downtown at least a parking where you can get validated to go to the gym , it’s totally necessary.... never parking around and near to a lot of homeless people that honestly doesn't feel safe leaving your car out. Since I moved here I visit the gym 1 time because of this situation, hope it changes, I love the machines but while they fix the parking problem ... i will cancel membership.

Very big space and new equipment. Can be busy in the evenings but can't beat the monthly fees. The staff is also very friendly. I wish other visitors would be more consistent with wiping the machines down. Signs might help?! Not a hip crowd but it serves my purpose.

Nice place with newer equipment. Locker rooms could be a bit cleaner and for some reason even though it reads "dont leave lock on locker overnight" somehow there always seems to a lot more locks on lockers than people in the gym. The equipment is nice and staff is pretty friendly but the maintenance really needs to be kept up.

The DTLA Planet Fitness is large. Two floors and plenty of equipment. I usually visit past midnight and I love it because the gym is always looking clean and smelling clean. Yes the parking situation can be difficult but most places in downtown are like this so it's nothing new you should expect it. I'd like to give it a 5/5 BUT... The only complaint I have is the homeless people who come to loiter and shower. Many times have I came to this gym and have seen the same guy just sit in the locker room watching TV for an hour or two. Again, I've been coming here for months and I am not making assumptions. After awhile you start to notice some people aren't there to work out. There's this guy who's there most nights before I arrive and after I leave. Every now and then he walks around the gym and goes back into the locker room. There's at least 3 homeless men who do this and it makes me uncomfortable to leave my items in the locker room even with a lock. Sometimes I arrive to the gym and there's just up to 3 homeless men in the locker room. They are clean of course because they use the showers but they need to stop loitering in the locker room. My complaint is towards the ones that aren't exercising as there is one guy who actually does exercise and is pretty clean. Sometimes it's so ridiculously where I've seen a homeless man (kinda clean because he showers at the gym) come in with a small cart containing all his belongings and takes the cart into the locker room to take a shower, twice have I seen this. Staff does an amazing job of cleaning but I still recommend using flip flops or something when showering or avoid the shower at all costs. The group of people that come in to shower+water= a hot bed for bacteria and other nasty stuff. It makes sense due to the location and price that it would attract a certain crowd but the gym is a place to work out not a premium shelter. Might cancel my membership. I come here because it's the closest gym to me but I don't mind paying another $10 to exercise elsewhere.

The only time I enjoyed Going is after midnight where everything is peaceful... Well except homeless people that come and use the shower like a jail, yeah that man that had a shopping cart next to the shower rink. The night staff and cleaning crew are awesome and most of them I know. Please come after hours if you are cool but if you have an ego... Go somewhere else 😀

There are ample machines to workout on, both upstairs and downstairs. The staff is extremely supportive and friendly. It is open 24 hours. I find early mornings(7am or so) work well. The first Monday night of the month is pizza night and the second Tuesday morning is bagel day. Membership is affordable as well.

It opened on Wednesday June 15 and it is amazing. This facility has 2 floors and is much larger than I expected it to be. Every employee has been kind and willing to help me. There's a large variety of machines and there are a lot of treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals so I don't see there being an issue of not finding something to use. The 30 minutes work out section is very nice. I'm very happy with the facility. I signed up in January and waited 6 months for it to open and now that it's here, it was worth the wait. Such a great place.

Ok now, I enjoy working out at Planet Fitness, I do. Having tried must of the gyms in the neighborhood, this one is hands down the best. It's clean, spacious, newer equipment, friendly staff, not so busy, cheap... But! My go to location was closed for three months, and what do I see when it's back open? The machines that were broken before the closure are still broken, the carabiners that were missing are still missing, it even seems like balls of dust are at the same spots if your face is close enough to the floor! Come on guys! The city has resurfaced a couple of roads around downtown in the same amount of time, you've only managed to mark up the floor and come up with a couple of catch phrases like "Social Fitnessing" (so annoying btw!) I know you can do better than that. 3 months is a lot of time to get the gym together.

No complaints! Much bigger than my home gym in anaheim and tons more machines, two levels. There's usually enough people to be considered "busy" but never do I have to wait for a machine. The staff is present, and friendly if there are any questions. Bathrooms are kept up, and other gymgoers are considerate. A great place to workout before/after work when I'm waiting for traffic to die down before going home.

At first I was so upset that this gym wasn't open and now seeing everything and all the hard work that was put into this Planet Fitness, I must say you all have done an AMAZING JOB. Great gym BUT... Staff not very nice. I have been twice in last couple weeks with my girlfriend who is a member. All I was doing is showering and waiting for her.... They apparently don't like people to SIT anywhere in there gym and I had to leave and wait outside ... Will be back because of location let's see if they still don't let me sit and wait...

Love coming to this Planet Fitness. There are enough machines and free weights to go around there is usually very little to minimal wait time at any station. The facility is kept very clean although I have not used the showers so I cant comment on that. The only downside is parking since they don't have a dedicated lot. Finding meter parking can be hit or miss.

Love this place. I was visiting friends and needed a gym for one and a half months. I just walked in and signed up. No initiation fees, just $1 authorization fee. I pay $10 mo for one gym access only. It's clean, very fresh and air conditioned. Machines are clean and shiny. Lockers are tidy and showers are clean. It doesn't have free weight barbels for bench press but squat racks instead where the barbel is locked and moves up and down. Other then that, there is a ton of treadmills and staircase machines for cardio. Each of them has a tv with local channels (SD). Great, but do they support every body type? Not so much. I think Planet Fitness gives out a lot of fattening food for everyone to snack on. I myself have a fast metabolism and am really slim, but my friend who's more on the heavy set side usually burns off calories and just eats them back up with the stuff Planet Fitness gives out. Trust me, it's tempting when there's 40 boxes of pizza in front of you. Other than that, great place! Huge!

How do they do it?? They are right downtown, in a convenient location, for only $10 a month! Downtown is so expensive I can't live there. However, I can go to the gym during my work lunch break now. This is awesome. The place is clean and totally not crowded. I scheduled my workout for 10am thinking that'd be the optimum time, but, really, other times aren't busy rather. There's never a problem finding open equipment. Plus, they have a 30 minute full body, timed workout circuit so people don't hog the machines. No gymtimidation is awesome.

I have been going to this gym 4-5 times a week for over a year. The staff is friendly and always greets you when you enter. The gym stays clean and is not overcrowded. I've never had an issue doing the workouts I've planned and never had any issues with the staff. There was one review about the Food Network always being on, I've never noticed that and I am at the gym nearly every weekday in the mornings. Usually half the tvs have Fox/CNN on or sports center on. The other half have music videos on. As for individual treadmill tvs, those are controlled by you so you'll only see Food Center if that's what you're trying to watch. I would say if you're looking for group workout classes then this is probably not the gym for you. But for $10 a month it's hard to beat.

I am a Black Card member so my home location for Planet Fitness is in Saint Charles Illinois. I have been utilizing the Downtown Los Angeles location since I am residing near here now. I was visiting this location for about 10 weeks regularly before one of the attendants informed me that my membership only allows me up to TEN visits per month at any location outside my home location. I was definitely not aware of my limits because I did not ask. I had always assumed I would return to Illinois. But since I have not, I need to change my home location. Because of the TEN visits per month, I had the opportunity to visit two other Planet Fitness location aware of the TEN visit limits. The Downtown Los Angeles location is not in the usual strip mall setting but is located in an older building occupying the first floor and lower level which is the basement. You have to check in at the counter on the street level before having access to the lower level. There are two entrances; one on Hill Street which closes at 9pm and the other entrance on Broadway Street which stays open 24 hours a day. The lower level can be accessed by elevator located by the Hill Street entrance or by a staircase in the middle of the first floor. Black Card members can enjoy their perks on the first floor but the free weights, restrooms and lockers are located on the lower level. Considering the club is divided as such, I often see people carrying one small bag with them from machine to machine which technically is not allowed. I have also observed that this location does not have the large industrial fans hanging from the ceiling nor does the equipment come with individual fans atyached. Instead, each machine has an individual television monitor attached thus eliminating the center television monitors found in other clubs. I am spoiled to the floor layout of equipment and supportive areas you can find in other Planet Fitness shopping strip locations. The downtown L.A. location is desirable to me because it is within 5 minutes walking distance so I do not carry a lot of stuff nor do I need to shower. I have used the restroom toilet and found the place not as clean as I would have liked. There are plenty of cardiovascular machines both upstairs and downstairs. The machines with corded weights are located on the first floor. I spend all of my time on the first floor leaving the younger crowd and/or healthier people to utilize the lower level.

I could honestly say this location is close to where I live. I work out much of the time and enjoy the spacious place. On top of all this, the cleaning of locker's as I always see, are always trash everywhere, and this is not because of the staff either, their not at fault(as they clean up all the time, I'v witnessed myself). People are just messy in general. I've read some reviews concerning the issue on homeless people, that is also true to. But.......My major issue and the issue that tops all, is that this place gets heavily packed, and when that happens, people(paid members, non-homeless) have the tendency to just sit on the equipment on their phones not doing Anything!!!!!(but on there phones) Don't miss quote me, I tend to take 10 to 15 minute breaks or stop to change a song, but when I'm finished, I'm finished and get's off so that other people can use it. This happens all the time I come, people not using the Goddam equipment I'm trying to acquire(some even leave items at the equipment, I'm guessing to save it???). It's been many of times I had to leave early due to this situation, now day's currently I have to come at certain times and work out.

First place I have ever felt comfortable exercising. Lots of low impact machines for cardio. And many have TV's on them so you can plug in headphones and watch anything from a soccer game to the discovery channel. Great distraction for self conscious people though I found myself not needing it. The TV's don't all work and they don't seem to be in a rush to fix them. Over all it's clean and except for one jerk very welcoming. They have classes to teach you how to use machines and they will help you design a custom program. There are lots of easy to use weight machines downstairs and ab stations. They also offer tanning booths, massage chairs, and other spa stuff for black card members and you can bring one friend a day with this membership. We all need a little encouragement and accountability now and then.

Sure, you want to get fit! The fear is setting in from the old bones, the juddering joints, the gentle charming wobble is descending into a garish plod. It's happening to me, it's happening to all of us and instead of sitting around miserably watching the decay and miserable chaos I decided to spend my time running on the spot like a hamster or lifting things and putting them down again like a madman. Am I saying planet fitness turns you into a madman hamster? In a way yes. But that's not the point it's better to be a madman hamster than a decrepit lazybones reaching for the chicken and gulping on the bucket of fizzy pop! Sure the end is the same for everyone but if you want to feel good for a low price surrounded by reasonable people I'd recommend this place.
