Before coming to Awaken I had never done personal training. I always thought it would be too expensive to be worth it.
I have been training at Awaken twice a week for a year now. In that time, I have seen noticeable improvements in my physique and my strength. Todd is a great guy and an excellent trainer who makes your workouts interesting and challenging. He varies the routine so that it doesn’t get mundane and pushes you to keep improving. He does a great job of tailoring to your needs/preferences.
Getting trained at Awaken has been worth the investment. My only regret is not starting earlier.

Todd is an excellent trainer! I have worked with him during 1-on-1 and 2-on-1 training with my spouse. He takes the time to understand my fitness goals and then caters each workout to those goals. He is very supportive and encouraging, which extends beyond our scheduled sessions. He checked in on me after a race I had been training for, which I really appreciated. During our 2-on-1 sessions, he quickly and easily adjusts each activity to fit both me and my husband, despite our different builds and strengths. Not to mention, his gym is well-equipped and clean. Highly recommend!

Training at Awaken is my first experience with personal training. I’ve historically never felt confident lifting. I either didn’t see results or ended up getting injured. Working with Todd has completely changed my outlook on weightlifting. Todd is great at keeping the workouts unique and challenging. I went from barely being able to do a single pull-up to doing 5. Since starting at Awaken I’ve hit new PRs pretty much across the board. I’ve done solo and group workouts and would recommend either. If you’re looking for a great downtown gym, Awaken is your place.

My wife came across Awaken and after reading Todd’s website knew he’d be a fit for me. I have had trainers in the past so I knew what to expect, but still approached the experience with an open mind. Todd trained me for over a year and worked with me in the gym with a focus on building overall healthy habits. He is excellent at meeting clients where they are and setting them up for success. Not only was I able to decrease my weight and improve my strength, but I also improved my health which my doctor measured through lab work (e.g., stress hormones). I highly recommend trying out Awaken; not only is Todd passionate about his work, but he has state-of-the-art equipment and great staff that are welcoming and build customized plans to improve people's lives. I wish I could move him to California with me!

I highly recommend Todd and Awaken317! I started going to Todd about 5 months postpartum and was feeling all the things: nervous about going to a gym, uncertain of my postpartum capabilities, tired and not very confident, yet hopeful and eager for some movement, me time, and strength building.
Todd has been so supportive, kind, knowledgeable, and encouraging! His postpartum certification is a special bonus for my situation, but I know with all of his clients he makes sure the workout is focused on their needs. He has many longtime clients, which is indicative of his high-quality work and welcoming, positive personality.
I'm about 6 months in to training at Awaken, and it has become a highlight of the week for me! I'm stronger, feel more capable, and am grateful for a trainer that pushes me while also is able to meet me where I'm at in my process.

Todd is both extremely knowledgeable about fitness and overall wellness and he has a great personality. And the equipment is top notch. I just completed a half marathon with a personal best, which I owe in large part to Todd. Give him a try. You won’t regret it.

Todd is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to understand his clients. I started coming to Awaken 3 months ago and I feel substantially stronger already. Todd does a great job of adjusting the workout intensity based on how he sees your body warming up and moving through the priming portion. I had all sorts of rehab on an AC separation injury and still felt instability and some pain nearly 8 months later. Working with Todd for the past few months has made that shoulder feel stable and strong in much less time.

I have been at Awaken for 3 months and extremely satisfied with my decision! I’ve lost 15 lbs. to date while building muscle at the same time. Todd has always available for food/meal advice, designing a plan when you’re not at Awaken, and cheering on accomplishments.
The 1 on 1 training has helped me become more body-aware with overall technique and muscle isolation. Todd is very knowledgeable and talented at teaching me the differences in movements. This has been especially helpful on the days I am on my own and have to substitute in a busy gym.
Overall, Awaken has been an awesome opportunity to push myself while reaching achievable goals along the way!

Todd is incredible! A few years ago, I found myself facing the unknown where I was suddenly stricken with some sort of autoimmune disorder that was causing significant joint pain-causing zero motivation. Honestly, I was nervous about working out for fear of causing damage to my body or worse. Two years later, I was fed up with feeling weak and living with the idea “this is normal.” I discussed with my doctor what I should or should not do, and they suggested a personal trainer. In the past, I went to many different group training programs and found that I either saw minimal results or got injured. I started my search and eventually was pointed towards Awaken fitness. Todd was fantastic and listening to my concerns. The modified workouts are tailor to my specific needs and have made a considerable improvement in how I feel! I’ve never had results this fast. Did I mention this was all during part of the pandemic? Extra points to Todd on handling and taking all the necessary precautions to protect his clients!

Ive been going to Awaken and training with Todd since February. I've been guilt of blowing hot and cold when it comes to exercise over the last few years and never found something that I could stick to for more than 6 weeks.
I am now stronger than I have ever been and healthier and its down to training here with Todd and working on getting a little better every time. The workout is never boring and everything is meant to drive you towards your goals. I would highly, highly recommend!

I’ve been a client of Todd’s for about a year. I’m 62, a retired engineer and have plenty to keep me busy. Exercising for me is an investment in time, money and emotion so I was looking for a good ROI (return on investment). Because of his knowledge, skills and professional attitude, Todd has been able to match exercises, sets, equipment and workouts that have "efficiently" and "effectively" moved me toward my fitness goals. He understands that working out is more than just lifting heavy things (although there’s plenty of that too!) and I always feel there’s a purpose in what we’re doing. It turns out he’s a fantastic guy to work with and I love both the in-person work and the straightforward, simple (but not easy!) programming he’s built for me to do between sessions. Being in my late 50's and working a high stressed job I just never seemed to be getting any results in my desire to get and stay fit. We had a gym at work which I used religiously 4 nights a week with little or no results. My waistline was getting bigger not smaller so I decided this was just not working and I had to try something different. I was a bit hesitant to "pay" for a personal trainer but trust me it's been worth every cent!
When I interviewed Todd and he said I could get better results from two 1 hour sessions rather than going to the gym for 4 nights a week for 1 hour it got my attention. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical but why not give it a try. I have been working with Todd for 7 months now and have seen amazing results. My "gut" is gone (dropped 5 notches on my belt)! I have built muscle mass and lost weight. Now I have incredible energy, my balance and flexibility have improved immensely and I now have muscles where I did not know I had them. Now when I see people who I have not seen for a few months the first question is "What have you done?", even my own Mom who is 80 recently saw me with my shirt off and said "Son, what ever you are doing keep doing it as someone who is pushing 60 normally does not look like that!" When I look in the mirror I love what I see and when I go out I feel confident in what ever I am wearing.
