When COVID shut down all the gyms, Mean Training was there with a personalized training regime tailored towards my individual goals. They built the training program around what I had available to me and allowed me to track my process via their own app. Ricky met me at my home once a week to go over various workouts and check on my process. 3 years later and I haven’t returned to the gym andO don’t plan to. I’m in the best shape of my life. Highly recommend.

I’ve been training with Hannah and Ricky for 3 years. I was never a very active person, and I had a couple of trainers before Mean Training but I would always quit after a few sessions. Hannah and Ricky are different because they genuinely care. They are always encouraging you to push yourself, but they will always cater to your needs and abilities. I can say with certainty that I would not have been working out with consistency for 3 years if it wasn’t for Mean Training. Through nutrition coaching, they helped me form better eating habits that are sustainable to achieve my fitness goal. Aside from the fun workouts and nutritious recipes, Hannah and Ricky are also some of the kindest, most sincere people I know. Their motto “Be Kind, Train Mean” really says it all!!

My experience with Mean Training has been great thus far. I attend a small group training class for women, which has become a welcome addition to my health and fitness routine. I enjoy the small class size because of the camaraderie I receive from a small group setting; as well as allowing me to receive individual coaching throughout the entire class, which can sometimes be lost when participating in a larger class. April and Hannah are fantastic coaches—very supportive, knowledgeable and motivating! They do a very thorough job of explaining all the moves, as well as modifying movements to make them accessible to everyone, regardless of one’s fitness level, mobility, etc. Whether you’re new to fitness or have been exercising for a while, they are there to support your needs and help you reach your goals.
Overall, the team at Mean Training are a joy to work with:) Keep up the great work!

Working with Mean Training has far exceeded my expectations. Having a program I don't need to worry about conbined with dynamic workouts has made me more consistent than I've ever been. Part of that consistency is actually due to it being online and remote, it's easy to shift workouts as the week develops since I'm totally in control. Ricky and Hannah being great people and great coaches is the cherry on top!

I live in California so I did remote personal training with Ricky and Hannah. I worked with them for about 9 months and it was truly a great experience. I work night shift as a nurse and Ricky worked around all my needs and curate my workouts/schedule according to my work schedule. I’d send videos of workouts and he’d review and correct my form. We’d talk on the phone or FaceTime regularly to check in and see how training was going, what was working and what wasn’t, what I felt needed to change, how my body was doing, etc. The personal training was worth every penny. It set a foundation for me and gave me the tools to be fit and healthy in perpetuity.

Let me start by saying that I had an elementary knowledge of nutrition, because of my athletic background and what not; but Hannah took my nutrition above and beyond. She always accommodated my needs, and I always walked away from our check-ins learning something new. She made this lifestyle change for me so easy and not at all terrifying. I was able to turn on one of my other teammates! She reassured me every step of the way, and that I just needed to trust the process. My goal was to be at an achievable weight for my powerlifting competition, and that I was going to “cruise” into my weigh ins, which is what we exactly did!! Because of the work we put in prior to the meet, on the day of weigh ins I was able to scarf a full meal with lots of water to drink! (If you know how weigh ins go for any competition, you’ll know it’s hardly EVER like this) I’m continuing my nutrition with Hannah, we got some big goals lined up for the upcoming year! Thanks Hannah and Ricky, and thank you for letting me be a part of the Mean Training Team!

Mean Training has been such a consistent supportive presence in my fitness journey. They have never shamed me for my struggles in adhering to my workouts in the midst of my mental health. As someone who is very sensitive to the "no excuse" gym talk, Hannah has been genuine, supportive, and sensitive to my needs and boundaries when working towards my goals. Mean Training is an incredible personal training company. It’s run by an absolute powerhouse of a couple who always inspire and motivate me to achieve my goals (fitness or otherwise). Ricky and Hannah are always available for questions and support no matter the circumstance and never before have I felt stronger and more motivated in my life. I have been lifting for a few years but Ricky has really taken me to the next level as I have been able to hit numbers I have never even come close to before. Truly the most kind of people and the meanest of training. I was procrastinating on getting back into a steady routine after the pandemic. Hannah took me on as a client and it feels SO good to have routine again. Not only do they help set realistic goals, their programs are effective and very personalized. The uniqueness of Mean Training is how they meet you right where you’re at. Knowing you individually, they coach you through exercise, cardio, nutrition, and mental health. When you have struggles, it’s met with encouragement, suggestions and sometimes teaching you to have grace for yourself. Learning to be intentional in staying healthy, trusting the process and to persevere has made me a better person. They’re great with building athletic prowess, coming back from injury, preventing injury, longevity, quality of life and learning to love yourself no matter what season of life you’re going through. I've been a part of the Mean Training family for 2 years and counting. Hannah and Ricky are the only reason I stick around and actually achieve the goals I want to. Their approach to fitness and nutrition is looking at the bigger picture. It's getting you to move properly and once you have the mechanics down increasing the weight to challenge yourself. As they say "consistency over time is the key to progress". Same with nutrition. It's understand how our body processes food, training your brain to want to eat more nutritious food, then see the results. They provide delicious recipes that doesn't take being a gourmet chef to prepare. Their 80/20 method makes the nutritional adjustments sustainable. Their vast wealth of knowledge is one thing, but they are just very likable, down to earth people who truly enjoy helping people live healthier lives. I could go on and on, but who wants to read reviews this long. Just make the commitment to better yourself and give them a try. You won't be sorry.
