I've been a runner for years. Never thought I needed CrossFit despite having horrible mobility and an ever-slowing pace. But a friend convinced me to give CrossFit Hartford a try after she achieved a huge PR in her last half marathon despite a dramatic decrease in her weekly mileage. That first workout was humbling, yet inspiring as the other members and coaches gathered round to cheer me on. It's that community combined with super talented owners/coaches and purposeful programming that keeps me coming back. The improvements I've made in my strength, mobility, flexibility and running during the past year have been incredible. I wish I would have started sooner! #9am4life

Great place for a traveler to drop in. Coach was welcoming and friendly. The “regulars” were friendly. And I got a great work out while on the road. Bonus that they have showers in a separate area so I was able to shower, change, and have some time to settle back to life on the road. Great place!

I’ve been going to CF Hartford since I moved to CT in 2014. The coaches and community are amazing! I was worried I would not find a CF gym that I loved as much as the one I had left in North Carolina, however, CFH has become a home away from home. The coaches are dedicated and knowledgeable. They always prioritize safety and work with you towards achieving your fitness goals. The membership is mixed from individuals new to CrossFit to seasoned athletes making the atmosphere welcoming and inspiring. CrossFit Hartford is definitely worth checking out if you are looking to join a fitness community!

I joined CrossFit Hartford about two months ago. The mindset and atmosphere in the gym is the most positive fitness environment I have ever trained in. The coaches and members are all welcoming, motivating, and positive. I trained at CrossFit Hartford for a month and it was such a beautiful experience that I wish I’d do it again. I loved the coaches and how professional they’re. I learned a lot from them that until today I remember the tips they taught me. Members are also very friendly and welcoming. Definitely by far it remains my favorite box.

No doubt 5 star. Excellent coaches who are fully committed to get you fit. I was there almost for a year and it's been amazing experience with the coaches and with workout routines. Coaches are really dedicated/knowledgeable and has great positive attitude towards every individual. They have shown great support throughout and I certainly would like to be part of Cross fit Hartford one more time in future.

I have been going to CrossFit Hartford for 5 years now. I walked in on day one a person who was feeling really down and lost because my daughter had just been diagnosed with autism. I went to CrossFit hoping to learn how to be a little tough for my kid. I have gotten so much more than that out of the experience. First, the coaches are amazing. They do not look past poor movement. They notice it, and they correct it so you can avoid injury and get better. They also care about the whole person. They know when you need more or less and they really want their members to have a great experience that fits their needs. Second, the other members are incredible. These people have become my crew, the people I want to spend my time with. The community is so strong and so supportive of each other. You want to be surrounded by these people! Lastly, this place has helped me to get into amazing shape. I was a runner before and while I was fit, I wasn't strong like I am now and able to do what I can do. It all takes time, but with great coaching, progress happens in this place. You feel good about yourself, not just physically, but about who you become when you are a member of CrossFit Hartford. I highly recommend it.

I have been training with owner/coach Mark Balkun for about 10 years. Both he and owner/coach Kevin Doyle have created a gym with a strong sense of community. From the moment you walk through the doors of Crossfit Hartford, you feel welcomed. Their purposeful programming enables each and every athlete to be successful. You must come ready to work! If you bring the commitment, they'll take care of the rest! At 46 years old, I've never felt stronger. Crossfit has been my home for a little over a year. The coaches are phenomenal and will modify your workouts. I just recently started boxing one on one with a coach that gives huge cardio. The coaches talents are a huge plus. I love working out with this group of people that help you persevere through the workouts. Nothing but team atmosphere from the coaches to your work out group. Best decision of my life being over 50 to get me in shape!!!

I joined this gym about 2.5 years ago and it was the best decision I have ever made. This gym is the gold standard of fitness facilities lead by a coaching staff that shows some of the highest level of expertise I have ever experienced. The more you go to the classes offered at CFH the more you start to see the bigger picture of what the coaches are helping you attain. Further, they will often take the time to share and teach to individuals and the class as a whole why we are doing things, the benefit, and how we can improve further. Their passion for their craft and the drive they have to be masters of what they do is the heart and soul of this facility. This extreme level of professionalism with an at home environment and feel I did not know existed. You feel like you are just hanging out with friends and family, joking and laughing, but at the same time you are learning more about yourself and improving your fitness in the most efficient and effective ways possible. I do believe everyone should check this place out, no matter what level of fitness. I got my fiance to start coming here and she loves it, I wish my mother lived closer so she could be a member of this gym, and if I had kids you can bet they would be active members of this gym as well. This place will change your life, all you have to do is show up as regularly as possible. You will find yourself in an environment where every single person wants you to succeed and coaches providing you the tools to do so. There is no prerequisite to starting the program here, you can get off the couch with no knowledge of movement and these coaches will work with you to get you where you need to be. Don't wait to join up because you feel like you have to get in shape before joining, the benefits of starting NOW will outweigh anything you think you can do on your own by a long shot. In my time here I have seen several people come in and have their lives changed, all you have to do is muster up the courage to walk through the doors. I want to thank Kevin Doyle, Mark Balkun, and Justin Talbot for providing such an amazing service I look forward to attending every day.

I've been around the CrossFit scene for a few years and visited many boxes in the Hartford area. I can confidently say that CrossFit Hartford is the best around. The coaching staff is comprised of highly credentialed individuals with advanced degrees in strength and conditioning and exercise science. They're not a bunch of folks who thought CrossFit is cool and opened a box - they're real professionals. If you're ready to train in an intimate setting and excellent programming, then visit this gem of a box.

I played sports in high school and college; after graduating college I bounced from gym to gym around the West Hartford area. Each big box gym tried to upsell me on personal training, meal advice or extra classes when all I wanted to do is workout. I felt like just another number when I was there; everyone has their head down and no one really gets to know each other. My friends told me I should try CrossFit gym. I, like many people, have seen the videos online of people hurting themselves or pushing themselves beyond their physical abilities. It was intimidating to say the least. A friend from college told me she was going to CrossFit Hartford and I should drop in and check it out. I emailed the coaching staff beforehand to let them know I was going to stop by. When I walked in I was greeted by one of the owners; showed me around the gym and introduced me to some of the members. One thing I realized was everyone was very engaging and open to talking to you. The class was hard but everyone was positive. I soon realized the gym was more than just a place to workout, it’s a community. The owners of the gym have extensive backgrounds in health and fitness, they enjoy modifying the workouts to adapt to any personal limitations you might have. I’ve now been going for over four years and in that time have met new friends as well as turned around my health. I highly recommend anyone of any ability to stop by, try and class and meet the family!

I joined CrossFit Hartford a little over 3 years ago ! After “shopping” around at other gyms CFH was my last stop . I was immediately greeted by a friendly coach who eased all my nerves . The programming here is top notch . Safety is #1 but the classes will push you and transform you into an all around better athlete . If you can trust the process you will see amazing results . You put so much trust into these coaches who are also your biggest fans and at the end of the day a part of the “CFH family “. The community here is without a doubt one of the best aspects . There is so much support in and out of the gym . You have people cheering for you while huffing and puffing in the middle of their own workout! The supoort never stops ! It’s truly a family atmosphere and everyone wants you to succeed. Your time spent here becomes so much more than a workout but a time to be with friends !

I’ve been a member for about a year now. The coaches have been in the business for years and it’s abundantly clear. They preach safety and they work with you to meet your goals. The intensity level is high but also accessible to people of all fitness levels. Whether you’re an experienced cross fitter or just looking to get started, it’s a great place.
