Almost a year ago when I signed up for this gym and I have nothing but positive things to say. love the energy I get walking In, it provides a safe, functional, and comfortable workout environment, and creates a pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere for recreation and socialization but, most importantly and what I love the most is the staff. They are very good people who love their job, take it seriously, extremely helpful and have always behaved very well and professional. I am super happy here and I don't think about switching gyms for a long time. Thank you Family Fitness!!!

Joined here a few months ago and can say this is the best gym I have worked out at! They have every type of equipment from weight machines, cardio, stretching, and etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is overall a 10/10. Would recommend this gym to anyone looking to make a switch!

I've belonged to about a half-dozen gyms over the years, and this one is easily the best. Spacious facility, tremendous staff, affordable, and they have a diverse clientele in regards to level of fitness, which helps it feel less intimidating. It is definitely a supportive environment, as opposed to one that is competitive or judgmental. Would highly recommend.

The best gym I’ve ever been to. It’s a 25 minute drive from my home and still worth the drive everyday. Its clean, the staff learned my name within weeks of me showing up, and it’s an environment that has helped me achieve all of my fitness needs and then some.

This is one of the best gyms I've been to! The equipment is a mix between old school and new school and really just an all around great place if your trying to build yourself! From the family fitness staff to the trainers everyone has a great attitude in a very cool environment. I'm glad to be part of this experience so come on in and join! Low prices, great equipment, and awesome people! AND they host amazing classes which are great for multiple ages!

This is the biggest ACTUAL gym in the area! They have great equipment and an awesome staff! I always see Jason at the front and he is great at figuring out classes/ personal trainers that are right for you to better your lifestyle. Keisha is my personal trainer and she is great! She set up a great plan to meet my goals and is on top of her scheduling to always makes time to meet when we need to. Between the staff and the equipment and the size of the place it would be hard to go anywhere else!

They have some of the best personal trainers in West Michigan.(Chris,Chad Keisha, and Tad are just a few of the great trainers here) I personally have Tad as my trainer and have had my BEST results yet. Hands down, this gym is absolutely fantastic. I have gone to a few gyms and this is by far the all around best gym I have ever been to. Not only do they have all the equipment and room you could need, but their staff and trainers are some of the most genuine, friendly, and motivating people. I've never felt so at home at a gym, it really is like a big family there. I would recommend this gym to anyone and everyone!

My absolute favorite gym in the area. I have been here for over 4 years and couldn't be happier. Our staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Our trainers get our clients some of the best results I've seen. It is a family friendly environment but has all the equipment you need as a serious athlete. There have been so many updates in the last 6 months and our members are super excited about them. Give us a call or stop in see us. Family Fitness has an awesome staff. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. The gym is always clean and equipped with towels for during your workout as well as for showering. The staff is always friendly to my Bf and I. They also accommodated a short term membership for us because we were placed in the area temporarily for work. The atmosphere is the best, I like the old style gyms, where people are there to work hard and you get that vibe when you walk in the door. Happy we found this place.

Aaron and his staff run a great gym. This is a gym for most anyone, whether you've been training seriously for a long time or are just getting started. They just got new equipment as well. They also have a nice boxing room with six different bags. Based on what's been said about the place, I'd have to disagree. If you're looking to avoid hassles with recurring monthly charges, just buy a six month or year membership up front. There's no chance of any confusion that way. I've been a member three years now and it's by far the best gym I've ever trained at.

I've been going to the gym for two years and so far it has been nothing but pleasant experiences. The staff is always very helpful, and the fellow gym goers are very welcoming. Plus they make amazing protein shakes and have scoops of pre-workout available if you didn't bring your own. The entire gym, including the locker rooms, are very well maintained.

I just recently became a member and I have enjoyed training at this gym so far. It is clean, organized, and full of plenty of equipment. The staff are also very polite and professional. Quite a few treadmills seem to be out-of-order, but things like that just happen over time. The atmosphere feels very welcoming to people of all ages and health status. I know a lot of negative attention has revolved around the company, but it seems that has ended. My contract is simple and I have yet to experience any shady incidents.

All the staff that I have met at Family Fitness of Alpine have been phenomenal. The gym has a great atmosphere. The trainers that I have met have been super friendly. Also, I can't say enough good things about Chad Curtis, the director of personal training, at least I think that's his title. I have met with him multiple times, and he is awesome. He definitely knows his stuff, and it shows when you just looks at the guy. He is totally willing to set anyone up with the trainer and training plan that they need to achieve their fitness goals. From fitness to nutrition, he is the one that I go to for help and advice that I need. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

Being a student I was looking for a gym that would be affordable and work with my schedule. This gym has been both. The gym has a lot of quality cardio machines and weights. There are plenty of extra weights and machines which makes it easier to get a good workout without the wait. The gym is also really clean and there is usually a staff member cleaning every time I am there. I am greeted by an employee every time I walk in. Overall I am very satisfied with this gym and would recommend it to others.

I love this gym! I've been training here for close to 3 years now and ever since the team at Family Fitness took over this place has been the cleanest I've ever seen it and the staff are amazing! They have lots of equipment and even a women's area on the upper floor! Chris hooked my fiancé and myself up with an awesome price on our membership. I love this gym! I think it's great that they offer childcare services while you're working out, and they are great with our kids. It has a real gym atmosphere to at as opposed to previous gyms I have had a membership to in the past. There are always classes going on if that is more your style. The staff are upbeat and personable which is always a plus and they will help you get into the best shape of your life.

Not only did they make me feel special when they showed me around, but Maggie (super nice) and Aaron went a step further and asked me what my goals were. Large gym with a lot of free weighs and cardio machines, had a great friendly tour with Aaron who was very knowledgeable. They have great monthly rates, and everyone we came into contact with was super friendly. Plus they have a lot of different classes which is an added feature that everyone will like. Also for the ladies out there, they have a women only weight machine zone, so you gals can workout in peace. Recommend this place 100%

When I first posted about this gym, I wasn't sure how I was going to like it. I just knew the staff was phenomenal with the care and attention of the guests. After going for a while now, I could not be more happy with the choice of making Alpine Family Fitness my gym. Not only is my trainer Derick pushing me in my workouts, other staff members at the gym will say very supportive and motivating things to me as well. If i have a question I can text my trainer. If i need to reschedule, just ask. The members here truly are concerned for your physical and emotional well being. If you want a gym where the members will celebrate your victories , this is perfect for you. As for the establishment, the gym is kept clean at all times. The convenience of 24 hrs is great , no need to make changes with your daily schedule, just come at your leisure. They have an array of equipment you can use; from cardio, to cables, to free weights, to heavy bags, you name it they probably have it. Other services at family fitness include; massage, tanning, classes (yoga/zumba/cycling) and even hair salon. This has been a great investment for my confidence! So if you want to start investing in yourself too, go see the wonderful Aaron at the front desk to set up your membership. 😀

Hi! my name is Linda, I have been a member at Family Fitness of Alpine since December 2016. I have to say for me personally that working out and tanning at Family Fitness has made a world of a difference for me. I lost my daughter last August and became severely depressed, and stopped taking care of myself. My gym family has assisted me in regaining my confidence and I now have my great love of life back, and most importantly my sense of hope has returned. At age 61 my main concern is healthy cardiovascular and muscle tone. After 6 months of working out I have a much more firm physique then I did when I was 30 and I'm smiling again! I feel so healthy! I really like Family Fitness. They're open 24 hours, so I'm able to get in there before work at 5am. There's a lot of space and a bunch of different machines. They've got showers which is a plus. My personal trainer is awesome. Her name is Keisha. She makes you feel comfortable while still pushing you. She'll answer any questions you have and always remind you to call if you need anything. She's a great person to have on your side during your weight loss journey.

Having to move from Buffalo, NY, trying to find a new gym was a bit challenging, found family fitness online. After checking it out, I love the location, the price and the staff. Keisha is my trainer, I enjoy working out with her. She knows her stuff and makes sure I work out hard. I'm glad they are doing some renovations to the gym and adding new equipment. This is my kind of gym. There are plenty of weights and machines that keep my workout moving. Katie at the front desk signed me up on my first day and has been extremely inviting. I travel here for work so it's nice to have someone greet me every day. My only complaint is that other patrons don't always pick up or put the weights away. The dumbell rack is always out of order and the plates are always mixed up (EX: 10 behind a 45 with a 5 on top of it).

Elite Fitness has been great to me. I've always been welcomed by friendly staff who share my enthusiasm to work out. They are not just employees, but fellow gym members. The staff have always worked with me to give me the best service they could. Even when the cost of membership went up and even though my contract had expired, I was still billed the lower rate. Once, my friend and I showed up on labor day, because we thought it was open reduced hours instead of not at all. When we found that the gym was closed, the owner of the gym opened the doors up and let us work out while he did some paperwork for about an hour. Elite Fitness is a company that values their customers and it shows. The gym itself is a tad small, but packed full of equipment. There are loads of free weights as well as weight machines, including treadmills, stair climbers, and other aerobic exercise machines. There is also a small gym area with a punching back and some step-boxes that I've used for core exercises. The locker room is also a tad small, but never really that busy. I've not personally used the showers, but the bathrooms are clean. I've had to cancel my membership due to lack of funds to have any gym membership. I emailed them at the email provided on their website and they were quick to respond with instructions and information, such as the 30 day cancelation notice and my ability to use the gym during that time. I highly recommend this gym.

My boyfriend and I joined Family Fitness late in August. I had never joined a gym before and was nervous. But, everyone there is so nice and made me feel welcomed! We hired Tad as our personal trainer and it's been one of the best decisions I've made! He is so energetic and really pushes me to be the best I can be. I've already lost 12 pounds and so has my boyfriend! I was worried that I wouldn't be motivated to come to the gym, but I look forward to going every day!

Absolutely amazing staff and awesome place to work out. I've been training twice a week with Tad Larkins since Jan, 2016. He's totally hilarious and knows how to keep you motivated no matter what. I had a serious ankle injury and we worked together so that I could continue my workouts. He works around my full time student and full time work schedules, and never gets mad when I have to reschedule.

I have a Planet Fitness membership but tried this place because my daughter is a member. Much of the equipment is older, the space is pretty dated in general and I don't care for their pushy sales tactics. I would pay more than double what I'm paying at PF per month and it just isn't worth the extra cost, in my opinion. They do offer daycare which is a huge plus to those who need it.

The gym offers 24/7 access, tanning, kids daycare, training, group classes, free weights, machines, cardio, a salon, and much more! There is even a protein/smoothie bar. The staff there is great! Prices are SO affordable for anyone looking from just a basic membership. Overall, great gym/location/prices! Highly recommend joining!

I use this gym regularly it is both convenient in location and very accessible with open floor plan. The gym has all my needs from Spin bikes and treadmills to free weights and machines. Very friendly and helpful staff. They put in a stair master after I asked for one, which was great! Plenty of free weights and lots of cardio machines. Some of the equipment is "older" but still works well. Always very clean and the locker rooms are large and clean. Chris Johnson is always willing to go above and beyond when I ask him for help or advice! Very affordable prices.

I love attending the cardio and strength training classes taught by Sandie. She has a great attitude, is very personable and knowledgeable about how to get a good hard workout in without getting injured. The gym is pretty clean. I also really appreciate Ms. Julie who runs the child-care. She is excellent with my son, and the other children. Julie is very caring and goes above and beyond in taking care of the children. I appreciate the fact that they have child-care, it makes getting a workout in, much less complicated.

Aaron is an outstanding manager, I am 50 years old with a back injury. Aaron welcome me with open arms and was happy to show me around. He set me up with a trainer right away to help me to get my back back in to shape so I can get back to work. The equipment is top notch, and they have enough heavy duty treadmills for heavier individuals like my self (298 lbs) the treadmills at most gyms keep popping fuses when I use them, I have had no problems at all. If you like the machines over free weights they have every kind you will ever need if not two of them. If you are more of a free weight person they have all the right equipment you will ever need, basically thay have everything you need and the last thing is (which I find important ) the other customers there are friendly and nice and willing to help if you need it, even at 4:00 am, yes also they are open 24 hours.

All the qualities you would want in a gym; tons of equipment, day care services, extra classes throughout the week, tanning, personal training, a special area for Women only, the list goes on. There are also multiple locations so you can bounce around and see which location best suits you. I've been a member for 2 years now, I signed up at the Standale location before it opened but this one is closer to my house so I use the Alpine location primarily. I love that I can bounce around from location to location in Grand Rapids if I have to. I did sign a 3 year contract, but it was not unknowingly. I do not understand all of the reviews I've seen that state they were tricked into signing a 3 year contract or signed it unknowingly. How do you not know what you're signing? Read the contract, people. The annual "maintenance" fee of $44 seems silly, BUT it's not something that isn't written into the contract and that I wasn't told about. I am also very aware that if I want to cancel within my 3 years, it will be hard to get out of. But that's what a contract is. And if you want fitness to be part of your lifestyle, paying $25 a month for unlimited access to gyms all around Grand Rapids for 3 years is a decent deal. I've been going for two years now and I don't intend to quit in the next year. Aaron, the manager of this location is fantastic as well. He's very friendly, helpful, and ALWAYS greets you by name. My only issues with this location is the parking lot is very poorly lit. Also, the women's area upstairs has an awesome bay window - however the sun beats down into the room and there aren't any curtains or blinds. That would be REALLY nice. My ONLY concern with the company is what will happen when my 3 years are up. I'm not sure if they will try to auto-renew my membership or make me pay a fee to not renew it. I have seen dozens of reviews of people having a hard time breaking their contract before it expires, but I haven't seen many people talk about what the process is like for them once their contract is up.

At my first visit, I met Aaron, the manager of Alpine F.F., and we fixed up a deluxe membership at a surprisingly low monthly rate. Then, I started up personal training sessions with Brandon Mundy and he pushed me to achieve lifting goals beyond what I thought was possible. The encouragement from Brandon and others at the gym motivated me to start Powerlifting training. I have gotten stronger than ever over the course of the six months I’ve been at F.F. because of the fantastic atmosphere the gym brings. The F.F. staff & gym members are so friendly and motivating! Rather than kicking my butt to get to the gym, I always look forward to getting to the gym after work to lift with all the friends I’ve made. F.F. has stimulated my love for fitness and has practically became my 2nd home. By far, Family Fitness has brought me more gainz in such a variety of aspects, which has made this my top gym of choice here in Grand Rapids.

This is the best family fitness location in west Michigan. You have something for the entire family to participate in, but the real draw here is the staff. You don't just have people working behind the desk who have no certification. You have staff ranging from a 4 year degree from esteemed universities to the highest national certifications, as well as everything Inbetween. If your looking for a weight loss plan they can do that will great sucess(I am living proof). The staff is personable and always ready to help you(or leave you alone if that's what you want as well). I spent a considerable amount of my time with Chad Curtis. This guy has knowledge and he knew exactly how to apply it to my situation. He tailor fitted me with a diet, workout, sleep, water intake, cardio, stretching, posing, and even just texting back and forth when I needed help. You don't get a cookie cutter plan that most places will give you(eat less, more cardio). I was eating more food week after week after week, according to chads explicit detailed plan, and the fat was melting off. Chad hand picks his team at this location and it shows, his attention to detail shines through with this team. Go in check this location out and show me a better family fitness location in west Michigan. You won't find one! Great rates, clean, wide selection of equipment, women only area, the list goes on.

Elite fitness.... Tom changes my previous view about this fitness club, had a good time with him last saturday. In a min he solved my member ship issues. Now i'm back to the club to keep me fit.
