Great equipment, staff is cool but the showers need work. The shower water is usually cold or barely Luke warm. It’s the winter months here and TOO cold outside to take a cold shower then have to go out into the elements!!! Please fix this issue! I’m a member like everyone else and should expect better services in this area! Thank you!!!

Very neat place. Fantastic staff! Signed up for a membership so I have a good place to workout! As far as I can tell, this location hasn't changed. The staff is friendly, they always have a cheerful greeting for members as we come in, and as we depart. This is a fantastic plastic place to work out! 22 May 22 hasn't changed. Still a good place to workout! Some new folks on the staff, They're doing well!

Good for the price. Often busy. Sometimes, there is a bit of a weight for the dumbells. Machines are sometimes broken. One of the Stair Climber machines has been broken for weeks.

I really like this Gym. Just sign up again and it always has a chill environment that I like. Very friendly and will great you very nicely once you say your new (in my experience) outside of that I don't necessarily like being welcomed every time I want to enter a building. I feel like we are all expected to do that in our daily lives all day anyway. Here its not like that. I love that. If you want to say good morning they are kind and do as well. But you can also just scan and go about your work out without being bombarded with a bunch of welcome in. So I give it a 5 star and you can't beat the price for tanning and a work out.😊

Review

The gym is pretty standard. Clean equipment, friendly staff, a lot of overweight people working out in a true judgement-free zone. However, I recently cancelled my membership IN PERSON and was double charged a month later after the fact. Despite closing my account and cancelling all reoccurring fees, I’m still being billed.

This gym is cheap. Which exactly why you would come here. Equipment broken for months and members are not orientated at all so they lack good gym etiquette and sit on a piece of equipment for 5 minutes at a time while they look at a workout video! This is not a place I would recommend if you are serious about your workouts. Below is a photo of a leg press that has been broken for 5 WEKS!!!! Poor service in all locations. Terrible management. Poor customer service.

I absolutely love this place!! Cory is an amazing manager, he's the boss! He's super sweet and goofy at the same time! He's great at explaining things you just have to ASK the right questions! He always has the answers. Just remember that all the employees are doing their job, policy is policy and I respect it. Keep up the great work! 😁

Today was my first day at the gym and it was a great experience! I specifically want to shout out Mack, as she helped me with anything and everything I asked! She was extremely professional and knowledgeable! She was so kind and made me feel so welcome; I look forward to seeing her at the front desk! As a first time gym goer - I would highly recommend!

I really enjoy working out here. As far as fitness it has been great! Staff has been mostly enjoyable to interact with, and it is a great atmosphere! However, I have the black membership and at first LOVED having the access to tanning. But, since I've started a little over a year ago they decided to change rules about tanning that seem pretty "cheap" if you ask me. They have one tanning bed that is newer and larger which leaves me with fewer tan lines, it also has some pretty nice features that the others do not have (as well as newer bulbs and an overall better tan). I have always requested that bed for this reason. When I requested this bed a few months back I was told that bed is not allowed to be used for the maximum time of 12 minutes anymore, only 8 minutes and under. Since I have seen all of the regular people who have base tans use this bed and request it regularly for the full time, I can only assume it was done to keep people from using the nicer of the tanning beds. Which brings me to why I use the word cheap, because even the newer tanning bed is still the lowest grade compared to an actual tanning salon. Which would cost me $10 a month to use at the tanning salon and I pay that to PF to use theirs. All the other beds are old, outdated, and much smaller! Either upgrade the beds or stop putting petty rules on the only good bed you all have. I also found it misleading that the only tanning bed you all have pictured on your website is the newer one, but again you are restricting the use of only THAT bed! I have stopped tanning and am considering either switching gyms (most likely what I will do since it is very inconvenient to travel from place to place when others offer what I am looking for in one stop), or will be downgrading my membership and tanning at the salon. Please upgrade your beds and stop making rules that make the gym seem petty and cheap. I get its the cheapest gym around but don't make it see as if you all offer things you actually do not or restrict something based on not wanting to upgrade.

This gym was absolutely excellent! Forrest and his staff were so friendly and helpful. The facilities were immaculately clean and in wonderful condition. All machines operated as they should and everything was so clean and sanitary. The staff went above and beyond to help me with everything I needed and any questions I had. This will now be my favorite gym because of the staff and how they kept the facilities.

Goog gym for the price, but one problem they have is the staff, the other day i asked a worker that there was no paper towels in the mans bathroom and he said i now someone already told me but im bussy. I worked out for 40min and when i went home they where still no paper towels very unprofessional i dint now it was complicated refilling the towel dispenser

Loving the new equipment and the staff. There is definitely a different feel to the place. I am...till this day...I have been a member for about 7 years now...do not understand why the hours are so short on the weekends and then does not open till 5Am on Monday morning. Most PF's are 24 hours 7 days a week. It puts a damper on people that cannot workout until later in the evening.

The staff here is polite and professional. A wide variety of equipment to use, new rowing machines recently added. It can be tough to find an unoccupied treadmill between 4-6pm. There is a good group of regulars but there are also plenty of people that dont wipe down the machines after use which is not only gross but against the rules.

Great place to get your sweat on. Lots of equipment to use. Only negative are the bathrooms(men's, at least) - stalls are regularly out of TP, paper towels are scarce, and I see a lot of stuff on the floors that is probably bodily fluids. But honestly, for the price, I'm willing to overlook the bathroom situation.

Great place to work out. Inexpensive and convenient. Staff are extremely friendly. General manager there will work with you to accommodate you any way he can. Especially for people like me who have suddenly fallen on hard times.

Water fountain is always less than good cool water, so of course, even though it's a cheap fix, I have to pay a buck for cold water from you guys. Also I absolutely hate people who have to sit on a machine you want to use to get their jam on....MOVE IT!

Really need a sign saying u can't tan after a certain time, if you're open til 7pm u should be able to tan til 645 or 7. If someone drives to use the facilities they pay for and are turned away it kinda sucks. Just a suggestion , if u wanna put a sign that says no checking in to tan after 645 that would be nice. Turned away at 640 is a little irritating. Other than that good for price.

Visiting from Chicago, Brandon was a great host. Gym wasn't too packed and was able to get in some great workouts. This is gym is large and all the equipment was functional. Will come again...

Always people using the 30 minute circuit that aren't actually doing the 30 minute circuit just blocking those of us who are then get pissy when asked to let us through. Sign says staff monitors they don't they should. BUT they fixed their tv issue and staff are friendly fun place with good times.

So I usually work out at the Ankeny one, but they dont open until 5am on Mondays. So i looked this one up and it said it was open online, yet when i drove there, it was nice and closed. Should probably fix those online hours so people don't waste their time.

Planet fitness is an ideal place to workout if you don't have room or money to get your own equipment. Theres alot to choose from for the price. Only issues i have is the locations. It sucks having to drive all the way to the busy hustle bustling southside to workout for an hour. If only they openend one up on the east side or even altoona.

Drove all the way into town to use the standup tanning beds and they had them shut down one hour before close. Tried to argue and plead my case but woman at the counter would not budge it would have taken 6 minutes to use that stand up
