We got a membership for the pool in the summer. It is amazing. I have recently started using the gym and it is the cleanest and most organized gym I have ever been to.

The gym is newly renovated and is mostly suitable for.swim lovers. They have two pools - one huge outside and the other one for professional swimming inside. For group fitness lovers - body step athletic and hot yoga is a must!

It's the best club in town. Seriously! BUT with Corona... A lot of goodness is out the door - towels, soaps, shampoos, ability to workout 24/7. etc. I just hope all this goes away soon, so I could have my club back! Update: So, I'm back and most of club's amenities are back as well. That is really good. I say most because my branch is still not 24hrs and that sucks. There's one other thing that I've noticed since I've been a member of another club for last couple of years, and that is how little this club's workout equipment zone is in comparison. Some of the machines I would like to use are... just not there and I don't think there's room for expansion. Now, please don't take me wrong - you can "substitute" for all exercises I need with what is there, but... It is still good to be back!

Merritt in Towson is a great gym. The staff is very friendly, the equipment is new and well-cared for, and the overall environment is bright and clean. More recently, we've done swimming lessons for our young kids as non-members. The prices are reasonable and the instructors fantastic. A few years ago I did swim lessons as an adult with the Michael Phelps swim school; I previously had difficulty learning to swim but was swimming (very basically) by the end of the first lesson. I would definitely recommend going to Merritt Towson. I can't speak to the current price of membership, as we're not members.

I love the Towson club by far the BEST. I have visited other clubs as well as a member of other clubs and none compare to Towson. You are part of the family here. We are greeted every time we walk in and when we leave. Staff says hello in passing no matter who it is. My son loves Kids Club and the activities. Frequent cleaning procedures/protocols so I feel my child is safe as he plays. Equipment is spaced out according to safety guidelines, plenty of hand sanitizing stations and wipes to clean equipment. Various spacing for you to work out like turf room, TRIBE room and other isolated areas to socially distance. You ALWAYS see staff personnel cleaning and wiping down areas. Overall I feel safe while I work out and while my son plays in the Kids Club. Such a great club to be a part of.

Merritt has been great! Not too crowded. Occasionally a pile up in the weight room, but to be expected at peak times. Classes are well run by instructors that make you have a great work out. Always a friendly place too - staff and members.

Lots of different equipment for the casual or serious lifter. Powerlifting platform, weights get real heavy. Swimming pool. Yoga and spin studio. Kids center. Clean locker rooms. No shortage of cardio machines. Very rarely crowded. Great fitness club.

Great gym overall, and undergoing some much needed renovation to fix a few fatal flaws (putting the yoga studio beneath the free weights for example). Indoor (lap and warm) and outdoor pool (with concessions [and liquor license], baby pool, kid area, dive area and 2 adult-worthy slides plus adult swim hourly), cardio cinema studio, multiple event/class spaces, kid play zone (child aftercare coming soon!), massage therapy, steam rooms, racquetball courts, smoothie bar.... I'm sure there's more which I'm forgetting, but I hope you get the gist.

Wonderful gym where the employees will remember your name. In terms of lifting it's got everything you'll need. Plenty of space if you want some privacy as well. Summer time the out door pool is a blast! Highly recommend this gym

I recently joined the club and it is a really clean and well maintained place. Towels are ready and have indoor and outdoor pools, a children area in case you have kids, and a variety of free weights along with classes and other activities to keep you active. I would give the place 5 stars but the ladies that work the front counter often don't greet or say anything to people coming in.

I was a member of MAC 26 years ago in Towson when I first had my children. I took advantage of the wonderful children’s center then and enjoyed the facilities as well. We then moved to Hunt Valley where I was a member of the cockeysville location and worked out while my children were in school. I’ve been a couple other places, but now I’ve come back to the Towson location. Consider me a lifetime member of Merritt!

Perfect. The outdoor pool was fun and accessible. You could play basketball in the pool, and If you don't want to be outside they also have a indoor pool. And they have a nice workout room.

This is my favorite Merritt location; the staff is always friendly and available. The club continues to add amenities. They just announced they are building an outdoor pool that will be opening this summer! I love to swim and this club always has one swim lane open. Can’t wait for the new pool! Keep it up Merritt!

Also a fan of this location as well. Perhaps not as impressive as the Canton location, but for convenience purposes, it fits the bill. Only two rowers? Yeah I guess I'm the only one begging for four, at a minimum. Otherwise the bathrooms are clean, and the gym in general is a nice place to be

While a little pricey, you get what you pay for, and then some! This location is HUGE and I rarely have problems getting machines/weights even during peak hours. The new outdoor pool (with 2 water slides) is pretty awesome too. Definitely recommend it.

It's the best gym around, amazing outdoor pool... But it's pricey. If you use the facilities to the fullest, it's worth it. If you are one of those people who join a gym and walk on a treadmill, save money and go somewhere cheaper.

Today the club is closed, as a result of "electrical problems". This is day two, I call the club to see if they're open before driving 25 mins. but there is no answer, not even a courtesy message...because I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering. So yesterday I called another Merritt club location to see if my daughter and I could use the rec pool and I was directed to the site down in Baltimore city despite telling the club that I called that I have a six-year-old child and we wanted to use the pool she directed me to a club were no children are allowed, only adults. Needless to say, I was upset after I spent an hour in the car trying to get to one of their pools. Another complaint I have is if it's supposed to be a 24 hour facility, why aren't the pools open later on weekends when families can enjoy them? This location is open 6:30p on Saturday and 4:30p on Sunday, but 9:30p most others nights WHEN PEOPLE NEED TO GET UP FOR WORK AND KIDS HAVE SCHOOL....makes NO sense to me. Forget about rec swim during the week, there are a ton of kids at the swim school (lap) side, octogenarians in the Rec pool doing arthritis aerobics AND swim lessons. Really very little room for anyone else. If someone could recommend another gym that has a pool or another community pool that's open over the winter please let me know thanks!

Great place to work out. I use the cardio movie studio alot. Great movies, cool, and allows for a good run. Just watch for prime times with kids. Can cause the locker room to be extremely crowded, wet, and a mess. Very family friendly. So if you prefer an atmosphere with less kids, try Canton, Ft. AVE, or Downtown locations.

This is one of my favorite Merritts. I really feel safe, the classes are diverse and have lots of different times available, and the instructors are great. Highly recommend BodyCombat, BodyPump and BodyStep. Truly a judgement free and family friendly zone.

A nicely appointed gym of the Merritt group. Contains both indoor and outdoor pools, weightrooms and workout machines. This Merritt also has a physical therapist onsite as well as various rooms for fitness classes and children.

(Translation) I really like the club. Never have to wait for trainers. There are a lot of simulators, they are all spaced in different rooms. It's easy to get away if you don't like noise. There is no background music in the hall. They offer for an additional fee work with a nutritionist and a personal trainer. But for me, it's too expensive. But the price per subscriber itself is acceptable. There are group classes, you need to sign up for them in advance through the application on your phone. Two pools (tracks and for aerobic exercises in water), two saunas (dry and steam). The locker rooms are not carpeted, as was the case, for example, in Golds Jim. Accordingly, it is easier to clean and the locker rooms are cleaner than in some other clubs. Although, of course, they do not clean the way the Russian soul requires) In the women's sauna for 10 days, there has been an elastic band for hair under the bench. Although, cleaning was done there, but the gum is still there. Cleaning is formal. And the clock has not been working in the women's sauna for a month already) Hanging "for decoration". These are small things, but it speaks of an approach to cleanliness and a love of detail. The staff is friendly, nothing negative. There is free drinking water in the hall. (Original) Очень нравится клуб. Никогда не приходится ждать тренажеры. Тренажеров много, все они разнесены по разным комнатам. Легко уединиться, если не любите шум. В зале нет фоновой музыки. Предлагают за доп плату работу с нутрициологом и личным тренером. Но по мне, так дороговато. Зато сама цена за абонент приемлемая. Есть групповые занятия, на них надо заранее записываться через приложение в телефоне. Два ассейна (дорожки и для аэробных занятий в воде), две сауны ( сухая и с паром). В раздевалках нет коврового покрытия, как это было, например, в голдс джим. Соответственно, проще убираться и в раздевалках чище, чем в некоторых других клубах. Хотя, конечно, убирают не так, как русская душа требует) В женской сауне уже дней 10 под лавкой лежит резинка для волос. Хотя, уборки там производили, но резинка так и лежит. Уборка формальная. И в женской сауне уже месяц не работают часы) Висят "для декорации". Это мелочи, но говорит о подходе к чистоте и любви к деталям. Персонал приветливый, никакого негатива. Есть бесплатная вода для питья в зале.
