Reviews of Richard Rodgers Theatre
We’ve been waiting to go to Hamilton for a long time and once we got here, it was incredible. This theatre is beautiful! Being an older theatre though, there are many people in the lobby which makes it very difficult to walk around. However, all of that fades away because this theatre is magnificent. The bartenders were so awesome, attentive, and funny! The staff at the souvenir stands were so helpful as well. I found a credit card and the management was awesome in helping us get that card to the person missing it. I would highly recommend this theatre.
Went to the Richard Rogers Theatre to watch the classic Hamilton. Theatre is a bit old but well kept.
Entrance is low and narrow and overall theatre gave the vibe of being over packed for some reason. Can’t explain why.
The play was laced with great performances. No complaints there. The bartender was cool.
I added an extra star for the play and the bartended. Theatre otherwise is average (not good/not bad).
🎭 beautiful theatre
🎭 great staff
🎭 moving performance
This is now off the list of a million things I haven't done.
Caught a Hamilton show in early August.
It's a beautiful theatre. We sat mid mezzanine and had a great view of everything. I don't think that there is a bad seat in the house. The cast was wonderful. Sound was amazing.
Seriously, don't wait.
I am not throwing away my shot to visit the Richard Rodgers theatre again! No matter what seats you chose, you certainly can't miss out on the fun and the sound goes around the whole theatre! The casting is amazing and the whole theatre aesthetic matches the musical completely. The staff is polite and helps you without problems. The musical itself did not disappoint and I don't think you could miss this stop! The only inconvenience is that the theatre might have been easier to get around if it was expanded, because with the pandemic all of the audience was crowded as they tried to exit.
Attending Hamilton on September 6th was one of my highlights during our trip to New York City. This theatre is extremely historic and easy to navigate (can get very tight during intermission.) We had excellent seats but after seeing it in person I could say that maybe if the seats look like they would be a great view! If you have seen Hamilton on Disney+ or listened to the soundtrack and are unsure about going, I HIGHLY recommend it. Seeing it in person is unlike any Hamilton experience you’ve had before
We were able to watch Hamilton and thoroughly enjoyed the show. The theater is beautiful inside with a lot character over the years. The sound is amazing and the stage was beautiful. I encourage anyone to go check it out!
Let’s have another show tonight,
They'll tell the story of tonight.
Finally get my chance to watch the show live in Broadway. The musical show Hamilton itself is extraordinary, one of the best pieces of decade. The view on the mezzanine still quite well. Although the seating and space are quite crowded compare with other musical theatres in similar size, it didn’t affect the mood for enjoying the show.
Nice little intimate theatre to finally see the award winning show Hamilton! Been obsessed with this show since watching it on TV. It was the main reason to visit NYC and see the show live. It did not disappoint!
Our trip to Hamilton was 3 years in the making because of COVID travel delays, with the anticipation unbearable in the days that led to our arrival. The show did not disappoint, it was incredible and the cast outstanding. With my daughter obsessed with the show, I must’ve listened to the Original Cast Soundtrack a 1000 times prior and was concerned how it would stand up against it, but concerns were wasted, they were amazing. Couple of things let the venue down; 1 toilet on lower ground meant the queue at interval was insane. Also, and I know it’s the theatre and expect high prices, but come on! 2 cocktails and 2 soft drinks and some popcorn coming in at $90 is taking the piss. And, the server pouring from premix expecting a tip is insult to injury.
My tips, take your own food and drink and run to the toilet the second the curtain comes down for interval.
Oh, also I believe a age limit should be imposed for under 10s maybe; kid in front of us fidgeted the whole first half, bouncing around in the seat and totally distracted us. Thankfully after telling the parent they were moved, but too late to unspoil much of the show 😟
We travelled 2300 miles to check one more item off the bucket list and it did not disappoint. Elegant and historic theatre. Amazing and dynamic show. We had perfect seats in ORCH, row O, but all seats appeared to have amazing views. Felt connected to the actors.
Nice theater, but it's definitely showing it's age. The seats need to be updated with more legroom. I'm just over 6ft and my knees where touching the back of the guy in front of me. I had to sit at an odd angle so I didn't touch him.
The staff was great and helpful. The restrooms were clean and had plenty of stalls.
I would see another show here. Maybe I'll get an aisle seat so I can put my legs in the walkway.
Great theater, we really enjoyed seeing Hamilton here.
We bought the cheapest tickets available and sat in the mezzanine, and still had a great view of the show.
While the theater is drop dead gorgeous and a glimpse back to a time when theater was elegant, one issue I'll never forget is how TIGHT the seats are! OMG, a day later, I still have indents on my shins from being crammed in between two seats that were installed 4 inches away from each other. I realize that this will never change, but I wanted tall folks like me to be aware! But the show made all my pain with it!
Great location. The Richard Rogers Theatre to classic Hamilton. Theatre is a bit old but well kept and beautiful. This theatre is extremely historic and easy to navigate . . .
What an amazing show ! The performers were outstanding! I heard the music prior to coming to the theater and made the performance more enjoyable. The staff was courteous and the COVID verification line moved efficiently. We arrived to avoid any delays thru covid protocols. The seats are very close to one another but you quickly forget once the show starts.
Gorgeous historic theater 🎭 highly recommend you catch a show at the Richard Rodgers Theater. Most recently we enjoyed Hamilton. Bathrooms on first floor/basement only. Use the restroom before you find your seat. Beverages and snacks available for me purchase to include souvenir cups. …
Beautiful theater showcasing Hamilton. I sat in the orchestra in the first row cc. The performance & theater was breathtaking. I had an incredible experience in this theater.
The theater was absolutely breathtaking! And being able to watch Hamilton in it was a complete dream come true. Will definitely be back!
Sat in row G for Hamilton and it was amazing how much more detail you can see and emotion you can feel from so close! Then afterwards we by chance saw that the actors were giving autographs so we got to get a few autographs too! Definitely with the trip up.
Hamilton is just as epic as everyone says it is. It will give you chills.
Sat in box E, which is as close to the stage as you can get (other than box A), but does have a slightly obstructed view. (You have to lean over the rail to see the King in one scene). Very comfortable. Obviously there will be lines going in and out of the theater so leave extra time.
First, the positives. The performance was terrific. If you haven't seen Hamilton by now, your should. Also, the staff were incredibly helpful. The upstairs and downstairs ushers were able to find me a place to sit when my knees were struggling with the tight fit between seats.
The only negative was that on this night, the theater was unbearably warm!
Great musical (Hamilton)! It's hard to not get fully emerged in this musical (which will make you forget how little legroom your chair has)
We had great seats on the mezzanine. It's a tight fit between rows and you must watch your step getting into your row. But it was very enjoyable to watch Hamilton. So glad we attended.
The best show by far of the last 10 years (not including The Book Of Mormon) I cried I laughed and I felt elevated throughout the Hamilton show
Just saw Hamilton and it was electric! I laughed, I cheered, I cried, I left with a sense of patriotism and the value of women! Great performance. Great venue!
Went with family to this theater to see Hamilton. Absolutely loved the majority of the cast member performances and had no trouble enjoying the show. We had great seats. Would highly recommend this place.
Enjoyed the show, Hamilton, with the staff keen to get everyone in to the theatre whilst it was raining.
More female toilets required but the queue was managed well during intermission.
I took my daughter out during performance and the TV with performance in lobby is a nice touch
Hamilton was great! The only negatives were the venue itself. The seats aren’t built for taller individuals and the venue is a bit small for the amount of people who attend the show. Great experience though and highly recommend
Amazing, the ceiling was spectacular and just the vibe of being here watching Hamilton was awesome.
Went and saw the show Hamilton. Was an absolute outstanding time and will remember the experience forever.
The ticket staff where exceptional and very efficient. They had my tickets ready to go and the process was very smooth.
Hamilton is a phenomenal show. The staff was very helpful. The only thing they may want to consider is putting in additional Ladies Bathrooms. The line was out of the lobby, up the stairs past our seats during intermission
What a beautiful theater. Hamilton was amazing.
I was super surprised how quickly the men's restroom line moved during intermission. Never seen a line go so fast. Lol
Going back again Wednesday taking someone. This cast is amazing too. Love to Watch the Disney+ original cast performance my all time favorite King George Jonathan Groff. This is a masterpiece.
The theater itself is beautiful, it still has a lot of the original interior decorations. Unfortunately a lot of them are covered with lights and speakers. It is still amazing and the seats are actually a reasonable size. The best part about this theater is how steep the seats are though, it won't matter how short you are you will be able to see over the people ahead of you. The staff was nice too, but the bathrooms must be small because the lines reached into the theater itself during intermission. Hamilton is every bit as good as you hear, great show with amazing wordplay and spectacular choreography. The set is well designed and well suited to the show. The revolve on the stage allows them to do some really unique stuff. Unfortunately tickets are way too expensive still.
Lovely theatre but the leg room is non-existent... If you are 6ft tall or more it's going to be very uncomfortable - I struggled to get comfortable which recks the experience of an otherwise amazing production of Hamilton.
Hamilton is by far, the best show ever to be on Broadway!
Theatre is very traditional and there are limited to no facilities for anyone with walking disabilities....lots of stairs. The Hamilton Musical is one of the best I have seen.......
The Rodger’s Theatre is a great venue to watch a Broadway show. It is currently hosting Hamilton and draws very large crowds. The theatre is named after the composer Richard Rodgers and has about 1,300 seats. It is a comfortable theatre for Broadway.
I had the most incredible time with Hamilton at this theater. I won the Hamilton lottery and they had a separate line for those winner, we were taken to our seats (SECOND ROW) and got to see an amazing performance of my all time favorite show on Broadway for next to nothing. The people that work there were fast and helpful, bathroom lines moved quick, merchandise and food lines were similarly quick. The theater itself is clean and cozy. The play was amazing with a great cast. Highly, highly recommend!
In January my daughter and I made a short trip from Memphis to NYC for the sole reason of taking her to watch Hamilton on Broadway for her 9th birthday. Being our first time traveling to the Big Apple and her first time ever flying our excitement was overflowing from the get go. As we checked into Hotel Edison we were stoked to see the theatre was right outside our back door.
Standing in line the day of the show we could help but stand in awe of the beautiful building. Walking in to grab our seats the inside was just as breathtaking. Our seats were in the lower mezzanine but it was apparent that there were no bad seats in the house! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and right away handed my daughter a booster seat so that she would have no chance of having a blocked view.
The concessions and souvenirs were all reasonably priced and the special Hamilton cups were a nice touch.
Our time at the Richard Rodgers Theatre is something we will never forget and hope to return to one day. We can not recommend catching a show, especially Hamilton at the historic venue!
Saw Hamilton. Very cool theater. Cramped seating and bathrooms are in the basement but they had a system to cycle everyone through during intermission.
Got standing tickets for Hamilton! Great staff.
I was there for Hamilton and it was fantastic! The performance, the music and the venue.
Hamilton was an amazing show. The building itself is very nice. The woman’s bathroom is far too small for the number of people that are coming in and out, the line wrapped all the way up a set of stairs and back into the theater! Also there are a few sets of steep stairs, not for the faint of heart! But if you take them slow it’s no big deal.
Official theatre of Hamilton the musical, what’s not to love!
We came here to see Hamilton and thought the theatre was really cool. The seats were a little tight and didn’t have much leg room but that may be the norm for broadway theaters? Regardless, the theatre was great and the show itself was incredible!!
Very nice, intimate feeling theater. You can enjoy the show from any seat in the house because of the size and shape of the theater. Hamilton is exceptional and you will enjoy. But if you win the lottery and end up in the first two rows know that the seats are very low and the stage is a bit high. For shorter people/children this may be an issue.
Great show but don’t bring anything extra except a small purse because there’s no room.
Great theater, seats a little close together but overall not too bad. Hamilton of course is PERFECT!! The staff were great and really helpful in moving everyone along.
Nice theater but the small lobby got a bit cramped. Also the only women's restroom (which is quite large and has lots of space) is in the basement. That's a hike if you're sitting near the top of the theater. It took the entire intermission of the show to walk down, wait in the line, and make it all the way back to our seats.
Beautiful building on the inside and outside. A bit of a logjam right inside the entrance when trying to get in. Drinking fountains near the bathrooms (it was hot and humid when we were visiting). Went to a performance of Hamilton and was not disappointed - the play itself was awesome. You may run into a celebrity (ran into Dave Bautista when getting out). There is a clearly marked stage door to the right of the main entrance to wait for autographs afterwords. Also, a more unique parking lot across the street (but who drives in New York?).
This is a good-sized Broadway theatre. Not one of the huge ones that can feel overwhelming. It’s beautiful inside and the seats themselves are comfortable but, as with all Broadway theaters, there isn’t a lot of legroom to be had. And they need a few more bathrooms.
Hamilton was incredible. Seats are tight but worth it. Loved every second.
Hamilton performance was excellent, audio and stage were great, the lobby area was very crowded however.
Performance was amazing! Don't drink anything before you go, the line to the bathroom was insane. They kept it moving fast, but I still missed the first song after intermission.
We saw Hamilton here. The cast was amazing, and the theater was gorgeous. The staff did an excellent job herding the attendees though the theater in an orderly manner.
My only complaint would be that the seats we had obstructed about 25% of the stage. This didn't affect every scene, but many required stretching across my neighbor to see.
All in all, I would recommend the play, but hey advanced tickets from the Box Office, and you won't pay handling fees, not will have gouged prices.
Hamilton. Seats were near the back but didn't matter. Great performance as always and a fantastic show. Part of King George hilarious.
One word. Hamilton. I am ruined for musicals forever. Worth every penny (and you will need a few jars). Listen to the Cast Soundtrack before going to get a better understanding of what is going on. Enter the Digital Lottery every day you are there for the chance at $10 seats up front. It's free to enter. All this being said, yes it is a madhouse before, during intermission, and after. Like swimming upstream to get back to your seats. Buy your intermission drinks at the beginning to just pick them up at that time. Leg room is not very plentiful, BUT there is not a bad seat in the house. Especially for such an incredible show as this.
Came here to see Hamilton, which was amazing! The seats are very cramped, but you soon forget about it since the show is so engrossing.
Absolutely stunning! We saw Hamilton and were not disappointed at all. Lines moved smoothly, not a bad seat in the house, drinks and snacks were available, restroom lines moved quick and the show was phenomenal!
Went here to watch Hamilton and was blown away. The staff was friendly and made sure that everyone got to their seats in a polite yet efficient manner, and ensured that the experience was overall just a positive one. Which believe me, it was. I would highly recommend anyone who has a chance to come see a show here take that opportunity, you will certainly not regret it.
Hamilton was excellent. As expected, but it fully delivered. Great staff at the theater, etc. as well.
Better LIVE!
Awesome.
Just know, seats are small, cramped..no wiggle room
But hey..it's Broadway!
Hamilton in a beautiful guilded theater. Awesome.
Staff were friendly and they managed the crowd effectively.
Nice theatre, really nice staff all across the board. If you are coming from out of town, I recommend staying at the Marriott next door and grabbing a slice of pizza at the place across the street afterwards. Oh, and of course the show Hamilton was awesome!
Beautiful theater!! Quick in and out! Show started 10 minutes late (thankfully because we got there right at 7!). Had good seats (don't think there's a bad seat in the house) and enjoyed this show (2nd time!) more than the 1st 5 years ago. What incredible talent and *MOVING* performances!!! Miguel Cervantes was a JOY to watch!!
Seats are packed together pretty tight, but that's just NYC real estate. Intermission was too short but I'm not sure if that was the shows fault or the theaters fault. Beautiful theater, and Hamilton was wonderful as well. I would definitely recommend. The bathroom s we're on the smaller side for a theater that large, but again real estate. Had a fun time, just get their early and get your snacks before the show starts.
Beautiful theater, amazing show. Ignore the 1 star reviews given by Trump supporters who do not understand the true implications of free speech (of course, not all Trump supporters acted so poorly, and respected what they did. As did VP-Elect Pence!) Most, based on how they describe the show, are getting the "cannot remember their lines" thing from Trump's twitter. When I have seen it, they did not forget lines, and if they did mess up, it was a word slip up (in pronunciation or just a slip of the tongue). And that is normal on stage!
However, as many people here don't seem to understand, this is the theater, not the show. This is not for show reviews. You wouldn't review a movie on a movie theater's review set, would you?
Regardless, it is a great theater besides the issues with bathroom lines. The theater is gorgeous, the atmosphere is nice, and the staging and set for Hamilton is amazing.
Lovely old theatre with good views from most seats.
Great atmosphere and feels quite close to the stage and performers. Only issue is lack of restrooms which resulted in long queues and congestion during the intermission
I love this theater. The staff is amazing. The theater is wonderful. Plus it also has my favorite play Hamilton. I was lucky enough to see this show twice so far. I recommend this show and theater highly. Hamilton is amazing.
Efficient and beautiful theatre! This show was amazing too!
We have been waiting to see this show and DID NOT disappoint. This Show was absolutely AMAZING!! What a Great Cast!!! We loved it!!!
Went with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend. It was his first Broadway show. I think she set the bar very high for any shows after this one. He Loved it!! Thank you!!!!
The experience here is amazing. I do have to say that if you have standing room, sometimes u can't see the top of the stage. The staff will rush to get u into the show if they have room if you are in the "wanting extra tickets if there is" line.
7/1/2017: Hamilton for my birthday! It was so amazing. We were 5 rows back. I absolutely loved it- even my husband who doesn't normally like musicals. I would love to see it again!
I lucked into box seats for Hamilton and must say the place is incredible. We had an amazing view and could see the orchestra director in action. The accoustics and volumes were perfect. There was absolutely nothing to distract from the amazing performance on stage.
The security lines to get in were long, but quick and efficient. The friendly staff worked keep everyone in high spirits and definitely added to the experience.
Was here to see Hamilton recently. They are able to do quite a lot with such a small footprint, the sight lines were great from our seats (Row A, Left) and the leg room was ample in those areas. The restrooms were accommodating and the staff was courteous and friendly.
Gorgeous theater. No elevator if you have mobility issues. Have to take the stairs to the balcony. Other than that- an amazing building. Saw Hamilton. See it if you can.
The staff at the Richard Rodgers theater were nothing but insanely kind and supportive to my family and I, even when my father had a seizure minutes before the show started. They gave us water and ice packs and kept checking in on us. They even let us stay for a couple minutes after the show so my dad could have extra time to get out! Hamilton is one of the best shows on Broadway and I could not be more happy with our experience!
The best theater I have ever visited, nicely designed for every single seats. I visited here twice the first I sat on the last seat on the right hand side of the orchestra area, but I don't think it is limited view, still really good. Second time I sat on the center of the theatre, much better, this is the best seat ever.
The Richard Rodgers theatre is beautiful. We had seats in the Rear Mezzanine (Row H) and the view was spectacular. Sound is great. Love this theatre.
The show was absolutely incredible!!! I would see it again and again if I could!!!! The theater was gorgeous. The line for the bathroom was extremely long, but I eventually got to use the bathroom with time to spare during intermission, so it all worked out.
Great little theater and we saw Hamilton here. The musical was sensational. About the theater though; it's small, old, ornate, but a little antiquated. The restrooms are small and the lines are very long, barely enough time to use the restroom and it's very disorganized. I say it needs an update and the seats need new cusions and my knees need new cartlidge. What can I say? The benefit of seeing a sensational musical outweighs the disorganizations of the actual theater. I'm not throwin' away my shot!
Hamilton was an amazing show. Best live entertainment we've ever seen. The theater was fairly comfortable. Leg room at the seats was a little tight.
Beautiful theater, clean and happy employees. It sucks the only bathroom is in the basement.
Beautiful theatre! Friendly employees and they manage patrons very well. Plus, what could be wrong when you get to see Hamilton?!
Went to see Hamilton, everyone was welcoming and helpful when sitting us, the bars had delightful drinks.
Hamilton itself is absolutely 5 stars! The cast we saw were incredible. Staff were friendly and efficient in getting everyone to seats. Our seats in row O had a great view of the whole stage and the theatre is beautiful and smaller than I'd imagined (which is a plus). When we attended the theatre got stifling hot during Act 1, naturally worsened by needing to wear masks throughout which the staff were (rightly) vigilant about. Both my husband and I felt close to passing out when interval arrived, thankfully it was much more airy for Act 2!
Musical, Hamilton was amazing. The venue is cramped and only one restroom on the first floor. Intermission was a nightmare.
The Richard Rodgers Theatre is absolutely gorgeous. It feels like you go into a time warp to the high life of the 1920s. It is filled with beautiful detail and accents that make this a memorable theatre. The staff was helpful ushering us in, and helping us find our seat. They were friendly and pleasant.
The show itself was incredible (Hamilton). The theatre acoustics were perfect and made the production seem larger than life.
There are a couple of issues with the theatre though. One is that the seats are very close together. I understand the name of the game on Broadway is more tickets = more money. I feel there needs to be a little more room between the rows. They are so close, it is impossible to exit the row without everyone standing to let you out. This could be problematic for late arrivals or bathroom emergencies.
The other larger issue was the bathrooms. During intermission, the line for the women's room wrapped out of the bathroom, into the hallway, into he theatre, back to the stage and all the way over to the other side of the theatre. It was so ridiculous. Staff kept yelling, it will move... well it did move but not fast enough. I was patiently waiting when the lights flashed as a warning to return to your seats. I was so disappointed, and I slumped back to my chair. I was very concerned I would need to interrupt the audience around me if I couldn't hold it any more. Fortunately,, I managed and returned to the awful bathroom line once the show ended. There are 21 stalls, but this is not nearly enough. I wish they could make some accommodations.
The prices for cocktails and alcohol is steep but the soda and snacks were more reasonable. The souvenirs are also expensive but high quality.
I would recommend this Theatre based on the show not for the Theatre itself.
Great show, my first time seeing Hamilton had to be live on Broadway and it did not disappoint.
Saw Hamilton here. Great show, talented cast and incredible music. Although I enjoyed myself, I think about the money I dropped for the tickets and I do not think they equate.
I'm always amazed at some of the theaters in NYC and this one was no different and didn't disappoint! We saw Hamilton (AMAZING) here on a weekday for the afternoon matinee showing. Our seats were excellent - front and center Mezzanine (row A, seats 107,108) and the cast members seemed to be singing directly to us even though we we on the mezzanine level! As it always is, the intermission was a mad dash to the restrooms - but wow! The staff handled that like a well oiled machine and we were seated well in advance of Act II. Also, the Covid check-in process was efficient and fast as evidenced by the fact that we arrived at the theater at our recommended 25 minute mark before the show and we were in our seats 20 mins in advance. The entire theater staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient and you could tell they knew they jobs and enjoyed them. The theater itself is gorgeous- I believe it has been refurbished but it has lost none of it's charm and it's east to image what it must have been like there a century ago. We loved the theater and of course, Hamilton!
This was a tough review to write because in many ways I love this theater but it can also be a nightmare. First, audiences are only let in about 30 minutes before curtain which leads to a huge rush before showtime. Then to make matters even more crazy both before the show and during intermission, there is one bathroom total for the whole theater and the lines are insane.
The good news is that the theater is gorgeous and you can drink your adult beverage at your seat.
I'm so happy that New York Theaters are open again and feel incredibly luck that I was able to see Hamilton. After all the hype surrounding the show I was afraid I'd be disappointed but the performance was unbelievably good. The theater is beautiful. Like many older theaters the seats are on the smaller side but comfortable and you can easily see the stage over the heads of people in front of you. The sound was amazing.
Four stars because the theater has to figure out a better system for the bathroom...some people missed part of act ii due to the crazy long lines......⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for HAMILTON!! The cast did an amazing job!! I
Amazing musical. Buy tickets long in advance online or few days in advance at theater window. I witnessed speculators who buy tickets at theater window using their proxies (all were wearing tour buses uniforms). That’s explains outrageous pricing at Ticketmaster. We paid $229 for orchestra tickets, row F seats 5,7. No reason to pay more than that.
This place is a bit tight packed for the amount of people in the theatre, so I advise to bring as little as possible into the theatre otherwise you will not have much leg room. Bathrooms are located all the way downstairs, and for some, intermission for Hamilton (15 mins) isn't long enough for everyone to go to the bathroom. Despite some minor complaints, this is still one of the best places to see a fantastic Broadway show that will not disappoint.
Nice Broadway theater but a few important things to know... bathrooms are on the main floor and they're SMALL; this is particularly an issue for using the women's restroom. At intermission the line for the women's restroom reached out to the theatre! Go before the show! The lobby is small too. And the big tip for the day... the Hamilton shop is across the street; go BEFORE the show. You can thank me later.
Our seats allowed us a gr8 view. But the steps!!! There seemed to be a lot of them.
Home of my favorite Broadway show of all time. Went here for the sixth time and impressed with the show. The theatre’s bathrooms are in the basement level but updated and modern. Only a central staircase that gets crowded instantly. Chairs comfy but tight.
Gorgeous architecture and the seats were excellent, mad comfy and with a great view no matter where you sit. Lots of merch spots and startlingly clean and spacious bathrooms. And Hamilton!! Seriously as good as the rave reviews say.
Hamilton was great, very talented actors, entertaining songs. The theatre itself is also fine, I got to my seat without any problems, the staff was helpful, the seats were comfortable enough to sit in them for almost 3 hours and I think that's the most important part about them.
Great experience!! Seats are cramped but you forget that as soon as the show starts. Amazing show and awesome theater.
Hamilton was absolutely amazing, it was well worth the trip! The theater is older and a bit cramped. We had an aisle seat and extra leg room with being in the front row of our section - otherwise it would have been very uncomfortable. Ushers were helpful and very efficient.
Saw Hamilton on Broadway! Hands down the best theater in NYC! Comfortable seating, box seats were amazing!
This theater is a wonderful venue for Hamilton. Right in the center of Manhattan, close proximity to times square, and near great restaurants. There are a lot of stairs, regardless of where you sit so be prepared to climb a bit. Drinks are expensive, but good and come in a souvenir glass. The play is of course, life changing.... This is a theater review so I'll end there.
Hamilton the play gets 5 stars but that theater's seating gets 3 stars. So horrible to have seating so tight, knee room is practically nonexistent. For the amount of money spent on the tickets seating could be better. Btw I had orchestra seats.
It's a beautiful and historic theater. But the seats are crammed together so tightly, your knees will be pressed against the seat in front of you. And good luck getting to the one bathroom in the lobby during intermission.
Saw Hamilton on a Friday 8pm show - beautiful seating, every ticket it a great view. As expected, concesions and merchandise are grossly over priced though the theatre is a perfect home for the show. Beware: bathrooms are in the basement!
Hamilton is a modern day masterpiece that is highly deserving of all recommendations. The theater is well layed out to feel like you don't miss any of the action regardless of your seating.
They have renocated the woman's bathroom. Many more stalls. The long line went very quickly.
Hamilton was definitely the best broadway show I have ever seen and I've been to three other ones. Although, I didn't reserve tickets I waited outside of the box office on the stairs for only about 20 minutes and someone ended up canceling 2 second row orchestra seats.
Beautiful theater. The staff was friendly and helpful. Of course the show... out of thos world!!!
We say Hamilton. The show of a lifetime. I just loved every moment. The actors were amazing. The theater is beautiful and a perfect venue for this show. My only issue was insufficient bathroom facilities for women.
Theatre is astonishing and good sounded. Sadly prices are 4x normal rates elsewhere and AC was turned to freezer mode.
Hamilton!!!!
Great theatre - smaller than others and more quaint. Loved it.
Wished there were better restroom options. You have no chance at the break so go before or be ready to wait it out.
My daughter will forever remember seeing Hamilton here! And so will I!
Wonderful theatre. Well managed and great venue for Hamilton
Great theater. Boxes offer comfortable seating with plenty of room. Clean. Staff was friendly and helpful
I saw Hamilton twice here. Both times were incredible experiences! I highly recommend!!
Took my family to see Hamilton and I loved it. Not into musicals but my family enjoyed it especially my older daughter. The actors were amazing and really happy I was able to experience it myself
Typical old historic Broadway theatre. We were seated in the very back row of the balcony, house right. Basically we were in almost the worst seats in the house, yet the view was just fine. The important part is to be in the room where it happens :-)
Beautiful theater. Balcony still had good views if stage. Drinks/concessions weren't nearly as expensive as I had been expecting.
Seats were a little cramped and there are only bathrooms on the bottom floor.
Highest compliments to the house manager and usher for 10/10/21 matinee. They promptly and kindly addressed the woman sitting behind us who thought it was acceptable for her two children to loudly sing every line. Kudos to them for their professionalism and responsiveness. Oh and Hamilton never disappoints! So grateful Broadway is back.
Hamilton is a once in a lifetime show. A must see if in New York!
I watched Hamilton here last night and honestly I have never had a better theater experience. They were prompt with masks, the cast was amazing and did fantastic, I could here and understand everything said.
The only complain I may have is seating, their was a girl behind me who had to stick her leg at a weird angle to sit because she had a cast - kinda wish they had disability seating so those in similar situations (who bought tickets prior to an accident) could sit comfortably
Other than that it was a fantastic experience and I highly reccomend visiting and or seeing Hamilton live.
This is a very old theater, so be prepared for little leg room and lots of chaos getting through the bathroom line during intermission. That being said, if you're seeing an incredible show the experience will not be diminished by the above issues! It's a beautiful venue with helpful and competent staff.
My first Broadway show. Hamilton. It was entertaining.
Went and watched Hamilton and the layout of the theatre and the set are amazing. No complaints. It was an amazing show!
Finally a chance to see Hamilton on Broadway, and it did not disappoint. Amazingly talented cast... Thoroughly entertaining from beginning to end!
Fantastic venue with a world class performance!! Best musical I have witnessed in person!!!
Amazing theatre .. Hamilton show was incredible the professionalism of the performers is outstanding
Great view of Hamilton at the orchestra level. The acoustics was fabulous. I love that wine and beer was served in adult sippy cups.
I have been wanting to go to this theater for so long, and as soon as I walked in, I immediately got goosebumps! It is so beautiful and stunning!!
Hamilton was so fun! Need I say more? Well, ok, the theater was classicly New York and a perfect place to bathe in Broadway!
Very intimate setting. There is no bad seat. Gorgeous inside. Plus, Hamilton was amazing!
Don't drink ladies. Rest room line is so long during the intermission. U might miss the start the 2nd Act.
Hamilton is incredible. This current cast is so good. I cannot recommend it enough. Believe the hype!!! The theatre teams are vigilant about vaccination cards as well as maintaining mask wearing over nose and mouth.
Great theater experience. Well organized concessions despite a big crowd. Orchestra row Q, fantastic view. Obviously Hamilton was a hit!
Seats are excellent, no one blocking view as seats are stepped like a sports stadium. Hamilton lived up to it's reputation.
Obviously the show inside the theater was incredible but the theater itself was great too. Intimate and beautiful.
Enjoyed Hamilton in October 2021. This review is to help the ladies use the restroom during intermission. First, the line will be wrapped around Exit 5 inside the theatre. Head to that doorway to get into the queue quickly. You may be able to join the line from there closer to the actual restroom, but you will definitely be headed in the right direction. The line actually moves fairly quickly because they designed an one way system inside. You wrap around to the right into stalls and then continuing around to the right as you exit a stall, the sinks. The sinks are staffed by a person, so tipping is appreciated.
Enjoy!
I won the Hamilton lottery and got to sit front row and it was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced!!! The theatre is huge, gorgeous, and very comfortable. The set was exquisite. I'm so glad I was able to go. I highly recommend going to one of the performances! It can be a bit hard to find your seat but the staff are very helpful. Dont be late, because once the performance starts you will not be allowed in. And know that when it ends, it will take at least 20 minutes to get out of the theatre.
Extreme efficiency and gorgeous theater! Kudos to all of the staff for a job very well done! The line was super quick, everyone was nice and patient as I fiddled through my phone to find my tix, and we were able to find our seats quickly and efficiently. Thanks for adding to an already wonderful experience!
Hamilton was magnificent!!!!! I am appreciative that the staff checked for vaccination and enforced wearing your mask. My only suggestion would be a better flow during intermission.
Play was very good. Beautiful structure but uncomfortable seating for individuals over 6 foot. Bathrooms in a very inconvenient place. Were in basement. Lots of stairs to get everywhere.
Saw Hamilton there. Great seats and wonderful show
Hamilton is a show everyone needs to see.
Smaller theater than I had expected but it seems like there isn't a bad seat in the place.
What else is there to say except it was a marvelous and life changing experience. I didn’t have time to look around like I usually do because it was a school trip, but from what I was able to take in I’d say the building is well managed and maintained.
Hamilton was worth all the hype. Loved the whole production. If you could get tickets, pls watch this broadway.
Love the beautiful decor. Also, very efficient and fast entry during Covid.
The legroom was made for a 2 yr old. The show "Hamilton" was amazing.
Of course Hamilton was amazing! But the theatre was great too. Very comfortable seats and seemingly not a bad view in the house. Loved the way the orchestra seating becomes more stadium as you go back so that you can see over the people in front of you.
The man running the ticket booth was super helpful getting us our tickets! The theatre itself is small but the acoustics and stage are amazing!
Lovely theater overall, but bathrooms are not plentiful and hard to get to. Saw Hamilton here from front row (yes, we won the lottery tickets and it was AMAZING!) And the view was actually pretty good being despite being SO close. Seats were comfortable thought and the front row actually had better leg room then other Orchestra seats.
I've had the pleasure of experiencing this theater many times in my life. Although I must admit, I have absolutely no interest in seeing Hamilton, I can tell you that this theater is run very well. I will admit the seats are very tight and the bathrooms are very small but it gives you the charm of Broadway like no other theater. I've been in at least 20 other theaters in Manhattan, this one is pretty special. I had the chance to be on stage and participate in family gatherings here. Be prepared to wait on line for bathrooms and spend a lot of money on goodies. The Box office staff is very cordial and management is very helpful. If you stay outside and wait for the cast, sometimes you even get autographs. Enjoy everyone!!
Love this theater. All seats are good, even back rows don't feel too far from the stage and the acoustics are fantastic.
Hamilton was phenomenal. It still sells out today and is a must see. But pay either as far back as you can or be ready to pay a hefty amount of money.
Beautiful theater, absolutely amazing show.
Hamilton was amazing. The seat doesn't have good leg room
Beautiful old theatre. Thoroughly enjoyed Hamilton.
Went to watch Hamilton for the first time. The space is really great that even at the back, you'll still be able to see the performers well. The theatre also has a great sound system to ensure that no matter where you are sitting, you'll be able to hear the performance at a good volume. Tickets are pricey (even the cheapest ones) but it lives up to its standards in terms of being one of the best and most popular broadway shows!
Of course Hamilton is fantastic... But the seats in this theater are pretty tight and uncomfortable..
Don’t buy any tickets in the back of orchestra… the seating is poorly designed and you can see half the stage if you’re lucky. I wish it were designed better, but overall a cool place
Great theater, feels smaller than the seating chart suggests. If you're going for far side orchestra the right side or the house is a better view
This is a gorgeous theater! The sound and acoustics are fantastic. We were seated pretty far back and still the view of the stage was amazing. The only down side is that there are only bathrooms on the 1st floor so go before the show. And the seats are insanely small. You'll feel like your sitting nearly on top of the person next to you. But beyond that it's lovely theater.
The seating was much more comfortable than the narrow seats at the Barrymore Theatre, the acoustics for the amazing Hamilton were great, the concession staff was (obviously) very friendly and they have a guy there with good charm keeping the ladies room line in order. The ushers could be slightly more friendly, excuse me if I went up the wrong staircase (or shoot me) and I know its not the theatre's fault (this continues to be a sold out packed house at every performance) but the incredible crowd of people leaving after the play and during intermission is to say the least, tricky to deal with. However, the venue does the best with what theyre dealing with during Hamilton.
Beautiful theater. Leg room is not great, maybe the fact that we saw Hamilton here was a good distraction.
Beautiful theatre with kind staff. Saw Hamilton. Wasn’t crazy about the show itself but it’s a lovely venue.
Beautiful theatre, saw Hamilton and was blown away. Seats are a little on the small and tight side, drinks are pricey, but it's Broadway.
Went to see Hamilton. Wow! Best Broadway performance I have ever seen. So well done. The choreography was stunning, the acting superb. King George was a special treat. If you have the chance, go and see it. The Richard Rogers Theater was a classic from yesteryear which did not let down. The seat was super comfortable and the view excellent. The steps were a little steep though, beware for the elderly and infirm.
First time I’ve been in that theatre. It was historic and gorgeous but to be honest the bathroom situation is hard to figure out and overly crowded, definitely not big enough for as many people are there. The seats were comfortable but you can forget about any leg room. The entire row must stand to let someone out. We saw Hamilton and it was so amazing, that I didn’t seem to care about the rest of those things. The cast was so talented! I want to come back and see it again and again! Truly the best show I’ve seen on Broadway!
We attended Hamilton and enjoyed it. It wasnt cheap, though.
Incredible show! They need more women's bathrooms, but the show was so amazing I could overlook that.
Amazing performance. Highly Recommend
Beautiful, majestic theater! Our seats were all the way on the left side of the mezzanine, but still great seats. The stage is huge, and it was fun to see how the actors used every part of it throughout the entire show. It doesn't seem like there's a bad seat in the theater. Everything worked together for an excellent experience!
You must see this show! Hamilton was amazing. The story is inspiring, the set really well done and we even got to meet some of the actors afterwards. I can’t wait to take our kids
Went here to see Hamilton and it was amazing! The building itself was okay, but all the bathrooms were in the basement. Not great if you were in high heels and your seat was in the top mezzanine, especially during intermission when you have to literally run there and back in less than 15 minutes. The hallways with the bars tended to get crowded pretty easily. The merchandise vendors were very efficient. Seating was a bit confusing, as there's a right and left mezzanine, so check your tickets carefully.
First time seeing a Broadway show and I wasn't disappointed. Must see!
Amazing Time! It's was her birthday and her dream since Lin performed. But she laughed, she sang, she cried and overjoyed with happiness. To the people that told her to be quiet,,,thank her she didn't tell me!
Nice theater. Seats we had for Hamilton were very good but very cramped. Seems like people were much shorter when these playhouses were built. Otherwise a good experience. Bathrooms were adequate, even for the women... Lines moved along fairly quickly.
Have seen countless shows on Broadway in my lifetime. My favourite theatre still to this day is the Richard Rodgers. Just the ambience of this place takes you back in time. The colour scheme just exudes hmmm I can't explain it but just stepping inside this place you will know what I mean. Not an overly large venue a little over 1300 which makes for a nice intimate performance.
Was in town over the weekend and went to Hamilton. ( Highly recommended)
I would strongly recommend anyone is will be going to see a performance here to check out their seating plan before purchasing your ticket.
I had Orchestra Row Center D 108 which in my opinion was excellent seat.
But I do know that some seats have obstructed views and being to close to the side of the stage will end up in a lot of neck straining to see the performers.
Oh and don't go on an empty stomach. Since this isn't your local movie theatre where you can sit and munch on popcorn. Only thing allowed into the theatre seat area is water in a no spill cup (provided when you buy the water)
Here is the view from the Orchestra section, row P, seat 101.
The show was great, and the staff was very friendly. Highly recommend.
Great Hamilton Show. Friendly staff.
The Hamilton experience is beyond amazing. The seats are comfy, not too crowded. The line for the bathroom during intermission is enormous so get there fast. Such a gorgeous place to see a Broadway show.
The theater staff is wonderful. The only con the line for the rest room was exceptionally long during intermission causing congestion to and from the lobby & inside theater
Superb performance and the Richard Rodgers theater is an excellent venue.
"I'm not giving away my shot!"
Hamilton was even more amazing than we had anticipated it to be. I would reccommend listening to the soundtrack beforehand, but the cast did an amazing job. The cast brings the story and songs to life and does an amazing job carrying energy throughout the performance.
If you get the chance, it's worth the show. The theater is beautiful once inside, but the concessions and restrooms got a bit congested at intermission.
Theatre was nice. We saw Hamilton which was fantastic. However, with a basement restroom, they should ensure everyone has time to return to their seats prior to starting after intermission. Those tickets were not cheap and the bathroom line was so long that it was in front of the stage.
Very beautiful theatre. Gorgeous architecture. The sound was awesome as well. Lots of steps...even to go to the ladies room.
The decor brings to mind old world splendor. Absolutely gorgeous! The steps are pretty steep though, especially in the 'nosebleed' seats, LOL
Awesome venue for any show, especially Hamilton. Rear mezzanine still has a good view of the action. Center is best, but even the very last row can see. Side view is not obstructed but slightly off for seeing the whole stage.
They sell drinks and merchandise on the top level which is nice, but you have to go all the way downstairs for the bathroom. Go out as soon as the act break starts or you won't make it back in time for the start of act 2.
The theatre itself was incredibly beautiful and relatively comfortable considering how long ago it was built; and of course, Hamilton was excellent and impeccably done. The only drawback were the staff handling ticket entry - they screamed at you the entire time, ripped my open bag off my shoulder as I was actually taking it off, chucked it in a bin, then grabbed my cellphone (which my tickets were on) out of my hand and chucked THAT in a bin full of water. Since my phone got wet, it took me a good 5 minutes to get my tickets to pull up. Ushers, however, were kind and helpful
Very organized with the best show on Broadway. Hamilton.. comfortable seats, top notch acting, staging, choreography, costumes etc.. worth every penny.. magnificent experience.
Intimate venue with elegant appointments. This theater is the perfect place to show Hamilton, one of the greatest musicals on Broadway and important to the history of America! The venue feels like you've stepped back into an era where stage theater was the pinnacle of entertainment. Lines can be long for tickets, concessions, and restrooms.
We waited years to see Hamilton. The whole experience was better than expected and worth the wait.
Hamilton is superb. Lin Manuel is a genious. The cast incredible
Beautiful theater. Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! .... I took my daughter there to watch Hamilton the musical 😊 ABSOLUTELY one of THE BEST Musicals!!!! 😊 …
A great place to watch a show. Not a bad seat in the house. We should know, we had to top right corner and loved it.
Hamilton was wonderful. Worth the wait. The theater is a classic Broadway grand theater. It's been well renovated. Acoustics are good. Leg room is a bit tight, but seats are adequate.
Beautiful theater! Hamilton was the single greatest play ever written. If you like plays AT ALL this one is sure to knock your socks off and up into the atmosphere. Totally worth the inflated ticket prices.
This is a pretty good theater in the Broadway area, though some seats are definitely better than others. We sat in the mezzanine once and it seemed a bit far away, plus the seats were actually across the aisle from each other. But the theater itself is pretty well laid out, easy to get to the bathrooms and to get out at the end.
Play was fantastic, staff super friendly. Line for the women's bathroom during intermission went from the basement into the theater and back. Still had a great time.
We won tickets to Hamilton! Front & second rows! Awesome experience!
As for the theater... Very pretty. Comfortable seats.
Could stand to have more bathroom stalls. The ladies' line at intermission wrapped all the way into the theater itself and down the front aisle. (20 stalls.) Recommend that you get to the restroom quickly, or you're going to miss the beginning of act II.
Just went to see Hamilton on January 12, 2019 and it definitely lives up thw hype!! Excellent musical!! That being said the theater seats are horrible! I understand that it's an old theater and they want to keep the authentic look but my knees werw literally pressed against the seat in front of me. The bathroom situation is horrible as well. They need to make the intermission 30 minutes. Alot of people missed some of the second act.
we absolutely love this Theatre. Hamilton was amazing. We would recommend to anyone to come see this Theatre regardless of the show that it is showing because the seats were comfortable and the theater architecture is absolutely gorgeous. You will not be disappointed.
Old theater can't expect much, learn the layout for intermission, bathroom lines will be extra long. The crowd usually goes through the same doors they enter,DO NOT FOLLOW. Opposite exit leads right to the men's restroom. You are welcome! And duh Hamilton was Amazing, can't wait to see it again!
Here for Hamilton on 4/6/16. We had orchestra center row P. We were facing right in the center of the stage. It's a small theater but beautifully designed. The seats have less than the airline coach leg room. If you're anywhere over 5'2", you will have a hard time being comfortable. Fortunately the performance was so amazing, I didn't have time to feel the leg cramp.
Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theater! What more can I say? We managed to get the best seats in the house (thanks to my wife). The cast was spectacular even though only one of the original cast members was still in the show. (Thanks, Oak!) We discovered that the show was not dependent on the original cast, as good as they were. The quality of the songs and the story allows the show to transcend the original cast members. The new actors are great too, but the songs are the stars.
Why can't Pantages in Los Angeles have cancellation lines? I would always wait in line to see if I could snag tickets to any show. We waited for about an hour for my ticket to Hamilton. My friend was unlucky so we had to wait until basically when doors opened for her ticket. Win win though because we saw Hamilton on Broadway. Can mark that off the list. :)
TIP: Come EARLY. As early as you can. It's worth dragging yourself out of bed vs waiting in line til the doors open at night. It's not going to be cheap though. Starting prices are $229 a ticket. Seats are guaranteed to be amazing since these are seats reserved for cast members.
Great experience, first time attending a musical (Hamilton), excellent performance...overall unforgettable experience!
This review is specifically about the theatre, not about the shows that use it. The stage is good, decent sized set. But there isn't enough space between seats. I was hitting my knees on the seat in front of me. Also, you should let people into the theatre more than 30 minutes before the show begins.
Had a great time seeing Hamilton, but where our seats were, you couldn't see the second level of the set unless you bent over. Not a great seating design. The bathrooms were all the way down in the basement and didn't appear to be handicap accessible.
Hamilton is awesome! Glad we finally got to see it. Was well worth the wait.
One issue: We went to (an expensive) dinner before and had leftovers. Theatre made us throw them out! I have never had an issue before. They couldn't even get their story straight as to why and between employees. Disappointing.
I was expecting to like this experience a lot more. Hamilton is about 30 songs non-stop back-to-back with a 15 minute intermission. You should really like musicals. Too much hype surrounding this. Theatre was pretty cold, seats small even for a short person like me. Not enough bathrooms.
My wife and son Vic enjoyed Hamilton in it! Theater is spacious, clean and have a well mannered staff.
The bathrooms are on a lower level than the orchestra, so it took a long time, and navigating down and up a lot of stairs, to use the facilities at intermission for those of us in the mezzanine. Perhaps as a result, there was a disruptive amount of late seating after the intermission when I saw Hamilton. Otherwise, it's a nice enough theater. They did at least warn us before the show so I knew to race down there, and the long line was managed well.
Show was awesome, but the theater sucks. Only one bathroom for the entire theater....the line at intermission wound down the hall, all the way INTO the theater, and back down the same hall. Seats and small and they oversold tickets. It was hard to enjoy Hamilton in such tight quarters with no timely access to the single bathroom. Would love to see Hamiton again but not in the Richard Rogers Theater
Simply love this theater and I'm not just saying that because I went to see Hamilton there. The theater is very well located near plenty of restaurants. If you arrive early enough, take a walk down 8th avenue and you'll have access to some good food. Just be sure to go a bit farther from the theater as some of the closer ones can be touristy (sacrificing service and quality for charm). Another reason I love this theater is for their accommodations. My wife and I went out for our anniversary but needed some time to pump for our little one. They accommodated us and provided us with what we needed. Not everywhere is as welcoming to nursing mothers, so that is very appreciated. Would definitely come back to this theater.
Amazing theater! Saw Hamilton live and it was a transformative experience! Must see!!
Awesome experience here - not just Hamilton! I was stunned at how efficiently I could get drinks for my wife and I (booze and candy) and kids (not booze and candy). Intermission bathroom logistics was AMAZING. Send these guys to Disneyland, they will get people on rides in half the time. Bartenders were really nice - honor code for pre-purchasing drinks for pickup at intermission, well done. As for the theater, not a bad sight-line in the house, its what you would expect, 5 star. As I said we had two teenage kids with us - and they loved the experience - not stodgy, worth saving up the dough for a great theater experience.
The ushers are very good at efficiently running the theater! Seats far back in the orchestra have an excellent view of the stage because of how elevated they are. I am short and almost always have my view obstructed by the person in front of me but that was not the case. Only complaint is there is not much legroom in each seat.
The performance (Hamilton) was amazing!!! But the theater is small, gets extremely crowded, with few tiny exit doors, only 1 bathroom for hundreds of people to use it in 15 min. In case of emergency it will be scary! It took a long time just to exit the main room after the performance.
My husband and I brought our daughters here to see “HAMILTON.”
Not only was this the best musical I have ever seen, but of course this theater was classic. Beautiful. Well-run... organized. Amazing experience for our family!!
Hamilton was excellent and theater gorgeous! And for all the people there, well manged...the staff members were great!
A nice theater but only one set of bathrooms for the entire place. Went to see Hamilton here and the lines for the bathroom during the break looped around the lobby and into half the theater seating. The show restarted with a good portion of the audience still waiting to use the bathroom.
Home to that juggernaut of a play: Hamilton. Great theater. Seats are spacious enough. Big clean bathrooms. Refreshments are, as is usual to NY, on the expensive side. Just wish that ticket sales are more controlled so there will be no third party sellers who can charge pretty much whatever they want for tickets.
Very cool theatre. Unlike most, as the orchestra section rows increase, they actually move vertically. Scored tickets in row Q, and was pleasantly surprised when I found out they were really the best in the house. Perfect view of the stage.
The Richard Rodgers Theater is probably the most famous venue on Broadway today (or, well, before the pandemic). It is a large one, with capacity of 1,319, and is named after Richard Rodgers. He was an American composer, known largely for his work in musical theater and his most famous productions are Oklahoma!, Carousel!, The King and I, and A Grand Night for Singing.
Many great productions have been staged in the Richard Rodgers. Hits like If/Then, The Rascals: Once Upon a Dream, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess are great shows on their own, but are head and showders below Hamilton.
Hamilton premiered in the Richard Rodgers on August 6, 2015. It doesn‘t need much of an introduction. The show tells the story of Founding Father, Revolution hero, and Treasury Secretary Alexander Hamilton. It follows his life from his humble beginnings, through the war with the British and his times as one of the leading figures of the early days of the United States, up until his final moments, in his duel with friend turned adversary turned enemy Aaron Burr, who is the narrator of the show. Rumors on Broadway has it that Hamilton is the first show to return on stage after the pandemics.
Hamilton‘s creator – Lin-Manuel Miranda has had a long love story with the Richard Rodgers. His Broadway debut - In The Heights, was also staged there. And we‘re expecting In the Heights‘ movie debut!
The theater is beautiful and the staff does and incredible job. Very nice and friendly! The woman who was stationed in the bathroom was THE BEST!! She made sure all of us ladies could use the restroom in a timely manner during intermission!!
Absolutely incredible amazing everyone GO SEE Hamilton
Beautiful theatre! We saw Hamilton 2/21/16 and is was incredible! The bathroom line during intermission was ridiculously long but I didn't stand still longer than 3 seconds, it moved very fast!
Yay, Hamilton! This is a beautiful theater. Like all of the Broadway theaters, there seems to be barely sufficient restroom facilities, but they do a great job getting everyone through them during intermission. The lobby is small but they do a good job of crowd control. Interestingly, you cannot buy merch here unless you are there for a show, so don't try and drop in to pick up a Hamilton shirt if you aren't there to see the show.
Beautiful theater. We took in Hamilton while we were there.
Visited for the live ticket lottery for Hamilton. Line was crazy long and wrapped around the block. That being said it moved surprisingly quickly. Live performance and lottery draw were okay. The crowd pretty much blocked the entire sidewalk, half the street and sidewalk on the other side of the street which was a little scary with traffic still coming through. Odds of winning are pretty low, but probably better than the online lottery for the other show times!
I have come to this theater for many shows in the past years and the stafff has always been super friendly but my most recent visit to see Hamilton with my family was exceptionally great . My husband is has been recently put in a wheelchair and the theater manager Tim Petolina and the bathroom matron Rose Kelly were exceptionally special . They made us feel welcome and comfortable and seated us before the rest the rest of the theater guests . They were super friendly and I can’t thank them enough for making us feel welcome
Great seats amazing play! Saw Hamilton and loved it. Seats are a little tight on knee room, but not uncomfortably. Bathrooms were clean and efficient. Drinks were pricy, but good.
American flag is a nice touch! Love the ornate horsies on the wall. Burger could have used a touch of seasoning, fries were relatively tasteless. Great ambiance though.
Went to see Hamilton and had a blast! Highly recommended the play and venue to everyone, was throughly impressed.
Beautiful Theater!!! Hamilton is AMAZING!!! The staff are very courteous, efficient and friendly. Be advised though, the bathrooms are small and the lines are VERY long! Many did not have enough time during intermission.
Excellent presentation of Hamilton. Although no social distancing . The Threatre requires proof of vaccine and you must wear mask at all times. Strictly enforced. The threatre is stunning.
Saw Hamilton - loved it. Seats at the back of the orchestra are "partial view" because the orchestra is on quite a steep incline. Bar and merch lines move quickly. Staff could use a reminder that theatre patrons are there to hear the *performers*. One usher spoke loudly and at length on her phone/radio for the last two songs of the first act. Ridiculous.
Saw Hamilton & it was simply amazing! The cast was brilliant. The story was funny, sad, happy, and thoughtful. What a terrific experience & lesson in history! Wow!! Bought tickets 8 months ago & totally worth the wait!!!
Hubby & I saw Hamilton here. The Richard Rodgers Theatre, with it's gorgeous royal atmosphere was impressive. The seats were comfortable, but not much leg space for taller folks. Hubby stands 5'9" and felt squished. The lobby is small for the amount of people. The sippy cups are a great idea, because I didn't worry about spilling red wine on my dress or on someone else's whenever I bumped into them. Anyway, RR is one of the most elegant, beautiful theatres I've visited and paired wonderfully with Hamilton. Tip: The ladies restroom is packed during the very short intermission. On the advice of a nice lady, I ran next door to the Marriott Marquis, up the escalator and used the restroom there. I made it back just in time for the second half.
We saw Hamilton. I was afraid it had been overhyped, especially since my wife had been playing the soundtrack for at least a year previous. But it was still a really good show.
I'm taking one star off for the restroom situation. Seems there is one set of restrooms for the whole theater. The men's restroom had at least a 10 min wait, and the women essentially had to choose whether they wanted to miss the end of the first a t to get in line early, or miss the beginning of the second act because their line took so long.
Hamilton was great but $500 for a seat blocked by the balcony above was not good. Had two tall Jones sitting in front of me too. Should disclose which seats have a partial view. I may have missed it if that info was there when buying the tickets.
Hamilton was a truly phenomenal show.
Every seat in the house is great. There is also an area where you can stand to watch the show if you need to stretch your legs. Also, they gave kids boosters and didn't mess up the view of the person behind them. Everything about the experience was great.
Experienced "Hamilton", well worth the super premium ticket price. Theater is on the smaller size which give a more intimate relationship with the actors. The only two caveats is that the seats are on the smaller side, OK for me & my wife (Both well under 170 LBS), but, larger people in the audience were uncomfortable and the women's restroom isn't adequate for the size of the audience .
I very nice old theater. They get you in the building quick, so when you see a devastatingly long line wrapping around the corner do not be discouraged. Seats are a little tight. Bathrooms are only in the basement which was a bit of a journey and led to quite a wait during intermission. Great pizza across the street, Starbucks around the corner, and Junior's is nearby.
Cozy yet grand theater! Sat way in the back and it felt like I had great seats. It should be noted that I have terrible vision as well. New York got it made with theaters like this, so whenever I visit I have to go to the famous theaters such as this one. You can feel all the history of the building!
At the time of this review, Hamilton had been on Broadway for about 3 months now. If it's not too late.... GO WATCH IT, IT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE. Since I'm a tourist, I didn't have time to wait in the lottery, but if you're a local, I hear the cast has fun with the lottery line, so give it a whirl if you got some time to spare!
Hamilton was amazing. The venue itself is what you would expect from any old Broadway Theatre. The seats are tight and not particularly comfortable, the restrooms, bars, and souvenir sales are inadequate for the size of the venue, and the facility is not fully accessible.
The theater itself was great, the musical I saw there was wonderful, but the staff were so rude! Pushing and yelling and barking orders at patrons to get here or there. There were a few nice ones, but the others were reprimanding families for taking pictures together in the crowd, refusing to help people to their seats as there were many others asking for help, or just being plain disrespectful by basically shoving patrons in a general direction. The theater itself was worth it, but I will not be returning due to the incredibly rude staff.
Smaller venue which lends itself to a more "intimate" theatre experience. The downside is incredibly tight seating with virtually no leg room whatsoever. I'm on the smaller side and it was challenging remaining comfortable during the performance. I have no idea how taller people manage. The restrooms were exceptionally clean, and shockingly, the ubiquitous ladies room line was absent after the performance. A welcome surprise to say the least!
I watched Hamilton in this beautiful theater. There isn’t really any bad seatings here because the size is perfect to make things more intimate, although, the seating space can feel cramped, especially if you’re not small.
This is a Great Theatre!!
Spacious seats, very helpful staff! I dont think there is a bad seat in the house.
Went to see Hamilton here with a friend and it was one of the best experiences of my life. We sat in the furthest back row and it was still a great view, not too far away. And it said it was "obstructed" seating but was still perfect.
We had a great experience at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. The lined moved quickly when we entered and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The one drawback was the space between the seats. I'm no giant by any stretch of the imagination but my legs were very cramped. Other than that it was great. The sight lines were nice. We sat in the upper mezzanine and could see the entire stage.
Saw Hamilton which is of course the best musical, probably ever, but this theater is amazing. There are clear sight lines, the seats are comfortable. Not enough bathrooms but that’s true everywhere.
I was there to see Hamilton. It's an intimate spot and I was sitting in the orchestra section and had a great view of the stage. Anyone in the orchestra would have a great view of the stage. All of the attendants were friendly and it's steps from Times Square.
Saw Hamilton best theater production my wife and I have ever seen. We are real theater lovers and have seen many productions before but this tops them all. Cast was absolutely fantastic. This is a MUST SEE!
Saw Hamilton here, show was great, theatre is beautiful but be warned it is a old NYC theatre with small seats and steep inclines if you are in the mezzanine, also only restrooms are on the first floor, not for the faint of bladder
Went to see Hamilton. Even though the line was long it moved very quickly and even though it was raining we weren't outside in it too long. We sat on the second level and it was hard to understand a lot of the rapping. But other than that everything was straight forward and they helped us find our seats rather easily.
I saw Hamilton for the first time and I must say that everything everyone said is true: the dancing, the acting the score, the theater, the set, everything is exquisite. I have already listened to the soundtrack countless times, and never thought I'd actually get the chance to see the New York production of the rock opera/whatever you want to call it, but a friend came through and I jumped at the opportunity. We had great seats, and I was mezmorized the entire performance. I'm still thinking about everything that I learned, and the amazing cast. It just so happened that we saw the actor who played Philip and one of the dancers at a nearby restaurants not long after the show. If you have the opportunity to see it whether it be here in New York or any of the other performances around the states or even in London I would highly recommend it. It is a great piece of art and a wonderful interpretation of a very important historical character.
Saw Hamilton, which was a great show and the theater is excellent as well. A bit small for the crowd - not everyone could use the bathroom at intermission. But it looks great and we had a great view from the second level.
Hamilton in this venue was remarkable. The theatre feels exclusive.
The seats at this theater is way too small. I'm 5'6 and I barely fit in my seat. Probably why they are able to cram in so many people in the theater, which leads to unbelievably crowded entrance, lobby, and bathroom line (that goes into the theater). However, the staff did the best they can to do crowd and line control.
Great theatre and great show! Huge queues for ladies toilets, even bigger than usual, most of the ladies late back after the intermission - just go at the start! Good views from towards the back of the 2nd tier - rear left mezzanine level F21/23. Note seats are numbered in a strange fashion odd numbers on left, even numbers on right, so F21 and F23 are next to each other.
BEAUTIFUL theater. Also, Hamilton. The theater itself is amazing though. There really isn't a bad seat in the house because it's pretty intimate (medium sized theater I'd say). Concession runs pretty smoothly and ushers are helpful and friendly. Loved it!
This theater is in a good location right off of Broadway, I believe most of the seats offer a good view of the stage, however some offer a less than ideal view, especially those at the rear underneath the 2nd floor seating. The theaters somewhat cramped so making your way to the restrooms or to other parts of the theater can take some time.
I was lucky to see Hamilton here. The acoustic is very good but the seats are kinda old and uncomfortable, however.... you went there for the show and not for the place. Long lineups to go to the mans bathrooms, good by far
I won the Hamilton lottery for front row seats - it was the experience of a lifetime!
Blessed beyond everything to have been able to see Hamilton here. So incredibly grateful forever to have seen such an absolutely amazing show in such an absolutely amazing venue.
Saw Hamilton, which was fantastic. Theater is beautiful, good acoustics and intimate feel. Moved people in and out quickly. Very cramped seats with almost no legroom.
The theatre itself is ok (Hamilton was amazing). In a world where real estate is everything.. bathrooms are not a priority. Manhattan has a public restroom problem, which you wouldnt expect to continue at an expensive Broadway theatre.. but yes, you get 1 small restroom here with all the guests and when everyone around you at intermission is talking about the ridiculous restroom line... maybe you take ticket sales from 1 night and dig out a larger restroom area underneath?
Incredibly tight space with nowhere close to enough bathrooms for everyone. The rows were very closely packed but the steep elevation meant everyone had a good enough view. If you're the type who is worried about having to possible get up in the middle of a performance, definitely get an aisle seat!
Bathrooms have been nicely remodeled. Sat up in the front of the upper most section and still had a great view. Multiple bars and merchandise stands helped. Ladies room count was a bit tough for my wife but plenty of urinals in the men's room. Very nice time overall.
Great theatre. Even from a very far place you can see and hear perfectly. Be tranquil about buying anyplace to sit. Tip: not everybody can take translators because they are limited, so, if you need them, arrive early. Tip 2: the pause between the acts isn't too long, so I advise you to go the bathroom in the first floor.
Very European architect and the surrounding sound so nice.....lighting set up is just perfect for the "Hamilton show".....I was on the roll one (CC 101 &102)......
This is the awesome Broaway show that I ever had, it had hip hop , street dance with the traditional broadway music. ....it blend it so well. ....and I understood each single words they are singing. That's is a amazing show, a lots of positive energy. It worth it to watch the show again.
Hamilton! Is fantastic
I was surprised how friendly and helpful all the ushers and personnel were
The show was AMAZING! The theater itself was absolutely beautiful and very ornate; however, the seats are very tight. So for someone like my 6’2 partner, he was pretty uncomfortable by intermission.
This experience was so amazing! I went to See Hamilton with an expectation of just seeing a Broadway play and was absolutely blown away by everything from the decor, the play itself and the absolute awesome staff! An experience I will never forget!
Seats are definitely not designed for taller individuals and it's unfortunate that the only bathrooms are in the basement. Be prepared for long lines during intermission. That being said, more than worth it to get to be able to see Hamilton.
Hamilton is a fantastic show! Loved loved loved it!
Hamilton was PHENOMENAL! Unforgettable. The theater was beautiful (but could have used more than one set of bathrooms). Be warned the line to the RR during intermission was ridiculous.
Hamilton is the best Broadway show
What is there to say about the lyrical genius that is the hip hop history lesson that is Hamilton. Having failed to win lottery tickets to the show for the previous two years, and failing to seduce seats from Lin Manuel himself, I sold a few kidneys and bought 2 upper balcony tickets a year in advance.
One of my biggest fears in going to see Hamilton live and in person was that it would not live up to the hype that it had built up. With a bar so high, who could ever be expected to live up to the near unanimous praise it had received. Luckily every single inch of praise heaped on this play has been well deserved. Even having obsessively listened the soundtrack, seeing the play is a whole different ballgame. Anyone who can see this play should!
My daughter had an amazing time staff was so great with her and her enthusiasm if bring there
Spectacular Venue! Very special surroundings, ultra friendly staff from the moment we entered the building. 1923 building is so spectacular . Comfortable cushioned seats. Very clean. Smells great everywhere you attend, such as bathrooms , lobby, auditorium. Extremely incredible entertainment! Sound evenly dispersed, all around sound in every corner. Seating/Veiw is excellent no matter where you sit but up front seating really involves the audience like nothing we've ever seen before. Lighting in audience section is safe if you have to leave in middle of show. Handrails so safe and everywhere if needed, but didn't ruin your view of the show. Bathrooms well kept, very clean, plenty of restrooms, and generous attendants. Snacks and beverages available. Everyone is treated like a V.I.P. Best show we've ever seen! Best venue collectively that we've ever been too. Hands down! So worth every dollar! We now understand why this place is so popular. Every word of awesome is so true.
Amazing performance of Hamilton!! It made for an absolutely beautiful evening in the ciry!!
Hamilton is amazing, but I am posting to give an enthusiastic & grateful shout-out to Eric in the box office, who found me a great deal on tix for last night’s show. The seats were fabulous! Thank you so much!
You really must heed the comments about the bathrooms. Don't drink before the show and empty your bladder upon arrival. Also there is a huge merchandise store across the street so don't feel compelled to stand in the lines at the theater. Of course the show was amazing!
I never knew this place existed until my girlfriend's daddy bought her tickets to see the show. Pretty good for being my first Broadway show. That being said the seats are very crammed. Show only recommended for people under 5'5
We sat in the balcony and still had a good view. User tip: you can turn in your drivers license during the show for a set of headphones! Warning- only one womens restroom- all the way in the basement so intermission lines literally go up several floors.
Saw "Hamilton " here... Exceptional performance!
Good theater with good sightlines and spins (sat in the Mezzanine for Hamilton). The only bathrooms are in the basement which is a small inconvenience since by the time you get down there, there is a line. Exiting also takes a while and needs better coordination by the staff.
Lots of stairs to mezzanine level. Be advised, no bathrooms upstairs, off the lobby. One of the ushers said the bathrooms were 66 steps down from the mezzanine level. There is a small souvenir stand on the mezzanine level. The show, of course, was Hamilton, and was brilliant. Several understudies were appearing today, but all did great. By the way, the actor playing Thomas Jefferson may look and sound familiar -- he won a Tony Award for his portrail of the Genie in the musical Alladin.
Saw Hamilton and it was great! Seating is very tight, including leg room; this is an an old theater. Staff was excellent. Sound, lights, and views were all excellent.
Seating is pretty cramped. I am 5'3" and wouldn't want to be any taller. During intermission the line to the ladies' room wound into the theater! Not cool! We were in the orchestra, and stadium seating meant no one blocking my view.
Great little theatre. Lobby area is small and the women's bathroom lines can get out of control. Ushers and the other people that worked there were all very pleasant. Great place to catch a show. Really not a bad seat in the house.
It's a great theatre and Hamilton is a amazing show.
Hamilton was incredible. Theatre is small though so plan accordingly. Orch Ctr row T were pretty good seats. Nice view.
Classic Broadway theater, friendly staff, great sound.
Hamilton!! One downside is that the bathrooms are all the way down in the basement level and the lines to get there went all the way into the Main Theatre area to the stage and up and back and all around and it took forever. Intermission should be a little longer to accommodate the lines. I did not make it back to my seat before the next act started.
Seating room is tight. Our knees were touching the back of the seats in front of us.The bathrooms are all downstairs so you have a long trek to them if you're sitting anywhere in the mezzanine or balcony. Still, it's all about the show! You go for the show, so it's an inconvenience you're willing to put up with if you're out for an evening of theater.
What more could be said about Hamilton than what's already been said! The Script, The musical score, The Talented Cast ... All First Rate. The energy of the entire cast, even the energy in the audience, made for an exceptional evening. Can't wait to see it again!
Currently home to HAMILTON! Such a beautiful and open theater to see the iconic play! Easy to get in and out, go to the bathroom, and order drinks. I recommend getting a double on the wine before the play starts so you don't have to go back at intermission!
Saw Hamilton! Excellent theatre!
One of the very few theaters on Broadway with comfortable seats. Most seats, including upper mezzanine, have good views. Only problem is that the bathrooms are only in the basement so it's a long way down from the upper seats.
Hamilton is perfectly crafted 18th century set up musical play complemented well with modern scores.
Saw Hamilton here and it blew me away! The theater staff was really well organized and moved people around well. The sound was amazing! Great night out!
Excellent show "Hamilton". Seats are too small for modern person and times. Anyone over 5 ft 9" cannot seat in those seats comfortably for such a long period. TIME TO CHANGE THESE SMALL SEATS.
Georgous and intimate theater. Getting in and out with a packed crowd especially during intermission is a hassle. Seats are tight if you're tall. But it's great
We sat on left upper mezzanine and the view was still great
Went to see Hamilton and sat front row center. It was great definitely a must see. The staff was great very efficient alt getting patrons seated quickly. Also, the show starts on time which was a plus.
If you're wondering whether it is worth the investment in seeing Hamilton at the Richard Rogers theatre, the answer is YES! Print your tickets before the show as this theatre does not accept digital copy from your phone. After hot footing it into FedEx next door and printing my ticket, the staff at the theatre made sure I did not miss one minute - from ticket through snack bar to coat check and seating, the service was excellent.
The show was amazing but good lord I think that there's more leg room on airplanes than in this theatre! My legs were asleep within the first 15 minutes. I felt less like a human and more like a sardine.
Well, Hamilton is life-changing, but the theater itself? Like most Broadway the seats are crowded and for someone with broad shoulders, the experience is a bit worse than sitting in coach on airplane. Be prepared to sit sideways.
We saw Hamilton, a great musical, charging obscene prices for which they should be ashamed. We sat 5 rows from the back, in the balcony, and the seats were almost $400 each when you include the even more obscene $60 ticket fee, which should be illegal.
How lucky we are to be alive right now and enjoy this work or art
The venue and the show were stunning. There was hardly a bad seat in the house, and it felt like a very intimate space.
This is a great Old Broadway Theatre in the heart of the Theatre District. Parking and public transportation is all around and there is no scarcity of good to great place to eat before and after a show - I saw Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theatre and Hamilton is GREAT!
Amazing! I love the history, the seats are comfortable, and I was amazed at how well I could see everything from the third row from the back! I would definitely go again, especially if I got Hamilton tickets again!
Saw Hamilton December 2018. Bathroom is located down 2 flights of steps, seats are typical theater seats... TIGHT. Clean theater great price at concession stand
The theater is on the smaller side, so you feel closer to the action of the show you're seeing, which is nice. However, they have one bathroom for the entire theater, which resulted in the longest line during intermission that I've ever seen.
Terrific old theatre with great sound, lighting, and seating.
Saw Hamilton there and thought the theatre and the set and stage we're great; as was the show! Of course, as a woman, the bathroom lineup was crazy but moved along well enough.
Clean and well maintained. The staff seem to have well honed and respectful crowd control skills. But the building did not appear have a fire sprinkler system installed. So beware of that if you are going to have seats on the upper balcony.
Really enjoyed seeing Hamilton at the Richard Rogers theater. We were in the rear mezzanine and had no problem seeing everything. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house.
My mother has been living in America since the early 80s. She sacrificed everything for her children to see a better life. As a matter of fact she sacrificed so much, that she never cared to do nice things for herself and give all that she had to her children. Now that we are older we try and do nice things for her. For the first time in 30+ years, i took my mother to see a broadway show. It happened to be the award winning Hamilton. Lets just say that she has never seen anything like it in her life. We sat all the way in the front and her mouth was open the whole time in sheer fascination. The music and performances were out of this world. Before the show starts, i recommend you look around and look at the detail of the architecture, chandeliers, and get ready for an amazing show because... that is what you are in for. I appreciate the cast because of the hard work that goes in to perform day in and day out so that the audience can take an experience that will be cherished for a lifetime. It was my mothers first show, and she couldnt stop saying "WoW" the whole time.
Came here to catch If/Then. We got orchestra seats towards the back, which offers a decent view of the stage. However, the mezzanine above us blocks part of the upper portion of the set design. So you might get a better unobstructed view in the mezzanine instead.
Bathroom Radar: Men's room is located all the way in the basement. Get your running shoes ready during intermission, otherwise you'll have to deal with the concession and merchandise crowds on the first floor. Good thing the bathroom is quite high-capacity (and newly renovated), so the line moves along quickly.
Tight, tight, tight. Don't expect to use the bathroom at intermission. Don't expect to cross your legs in your seat. They are good at getting you out quick at the end of the show. Excellent view of the stage from many angles because you're packed in there . . .tightly.
This is not a review for the show, it was great. But come on the lines for the bathroom during intermission we're ridiculous, and they started the show again while my wife was still in there! How is that OK?? Not her fault at all yet she suffered for it. At $450/ticket, her missing 5 min of the show is like $15!!
I have never been to a Broadway show before and didn't think I would like Hamilton but i really enjoyed it. I would have enjoyed it more if you could see the band.
I saw the play Hamilton there. It's a typical Broadway Theater. One of the smallest, I think. The play was long but a good (Hip hop/rap) musical about Alexander Hamilton. A must-see for historians.
Beautiful theatre. Sat in upper level on left and could still see everything. Have to check out Hamilton while it is there. It is such a wonderful show with amazing music!!
Um Hamilton, hell yeah! Seats are compact but comfortable. They move the lines quickly and kept the show moving on time. They sat 39 minutes before the show.
The show was amazing, but the line for the ladies' room snaked all the way around the lobby, back into the theater, up to the stage, back into the lobby, and down the stairs. Then, after waiting patiently all that time, they started the second act before the ladies' room cleared out! A whole bunch of us missed Thomas Jefferson's big intro.
Great experience , lots of history at this venue!
Beautiful setting and Hamilton was amazing!!
caught a showing of "hamilton" here, but that's as maybe! the theatre itself is cozy, well-appointed. we had seats pretty far to the left side of the auditorium but our view was not obstructed or difficult in any way. drinks were, as one might expect, vastly overpriced. $18 for a half-shot of jack daniels in a plastic cup. but hey: broadway!
Classic theater. Intermission restroom line is a traffic jam but place is gorgeous. Let's invest and increase footprint of theater district!!
Great theater! Awesome employees! Beautiful! Hamilton was absolutely spectacular! So overjoyed we were able to get tickets!
The play was fabulous, however the theater itself is very tight. Hard to sit for hrs. The rest rooms are far from the seating areas. Too many stairs going up and coming down into the basement to the rest rooms.
Stunningly beautiful theatre. Saw Kinky Boots here and was amazed by both the show and the venue. All of the employees working there are very friendly and willing to assist in taking tickets, finding seats, etc. They serve snacks and alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages.
Saw Hamilton here the other night with a great seat from Ticketmaster, whose service fee was more than half the original cost of the resold ticket I bought (nice to see they've figured out a way to make scads of money from the scalping business when producers try to keep prices in the same county as "reasonable", at least, even if they're not in the same city). The sound system was missing treble response, and my knees were on either side of the head of the person in front of me (sorry for tapping your ponytail), but the men's room was like an express -- well designed -- can't say the same for the women's.
The theater is pretty inside and exciting was easy. The only complaint is the rows of seats are too close. I'm 5'4" and I could barely cross my legs without colliding with the seat in front of me.
Saw Hamilton. Great show, great sound, seats are a bit too close together if you're over 5'9"
Had an amazing time watching Hamilton! What a great show and venue (obviously.... it's Broadway)
A lot of the seats have obstructed views either from the balcony above you, you are too close to any one side, there is a pillar in front of you, etc.
But great shows, great music, and amazing staff. I loved my visit.
Hamilton! Comfortable seating.
Beautiful interior architecture and design. Chairs may be a bit uncomfortable for some sizes. My husband is tall 6'2 and his poor knees suffered. He had to sit sideways bc the chairs in front are so close. Luckily we had aisle seats so his sideways sitting didn't disturb anyone. Bring a light sweater or jacket as it does get a bit chilly.
Such a beautiful theatre, designed such that you feel so close and connected to the performance! Saw Hamilton here and it was absolutely incredible - a must see.
It was amazing seeing Hamilton so powerful the music brilliant actors and actress was so good.
I had such a great time! The show was amazing! You should definitely stick around after and meet some of the cast at the stage door. Everyone is so sweet, and it was great.
Hamilton was spectacular. Only negative was the mask requirement.
Love Hamilton but I don’t think I have ever been more uncomfortable in a theater. I wonder if my knees will still work after the show.
Extremely cramped seats. I'm only 5'3" and the last half hour of the show wasn't even enjoyable because everyone was so uncomfortable. Really a bummer.
Beautiful place! Wonderful seating arrangement. Not a bad seat in the house.
