Reviews of Queens Theatre
We had an indoor event due to weather conditions. It was classical Indian dance, which required a great sound system. The acoustics were great! I guess they fixed the issues with with it earlier.
Nice set up for snacks and buffet dinner.
Great, clean and medium size theater. Great location with free parking and if waiting, you have a huge park with food vendors all around.
Queens Theater, in Flushing Meadows Park, is a beautiful, home-like theater, perfect number of not busy seats, great views for everyone in the audience. You felt at home by the Theater's manager of over 30 years welcoming everyone. Tonight, seeing Parsons Dance Project, was just another joyous reason to attend Queens Theater. Take it from Professor Jan, who loves Parsons as well as coming back to this theater, a total joy!
The whole family really enjoyed the Cenicienta play. Super talented actress that made it fun and easy to watch.
It was also nice to have a discussion afterwards about the play as well as the future of the Queens theater.
Amazing variety of performances. Friendly comfortable space with multiple theatre areas. You can rent this space. Beautiful haunting architecture left over from a World Fair. Queens Theatre can be hard to find for Ubers and those unfamiliar with area. Navidad by the Calpulli Mexican Dance company is a must see.
It's a gem in queens, they have lots of events and shows suitable for families. The venue is very well kept, the spaces are intimate.
What an undiscovered gem of a theatre! Set in a beautiful park with free parking & excellent seating for 495, making it an intimate theatre experience. We paid $55 each for center seats about 10 rows back from the stage!
It was amazing, love the dancers they did an awesome job.love side effects it was nice.
One entrance! South of Roosevelt Ave/LIRR/Subway and walk all the way down past the fountain (just south of that). Website and Maps placed stage in wrong location, so we approached from south of the stage and had to walk 1 mile in the dark over uneasy terrain around the closed off stage area to find the north entrances. No easy signs to tell you where entrances are. Once inside (past scanners and detectors) we had to push past 20,000 people to find the VIP entrance. Long, long lines for food and drink in gen-pop. Eat beforehand!
This is the same theater I visited almost 60 years ago. It has kept its appeal all these years.
A wonderful venue to visit in Fresh Meadow Park. We were there for Cherry Blossom Festival2 weeks ago
Very Proud of our theatre in the Queens area . Recently attended Steel Magnolias & Frida Kalo ...The performances were awesome !!!! The staff at the theatre are very considerate : Manger to the Concession Stand staff.
Great Park! Tennis going .. extra busy! 365 days of fun. M
I was so proud of my neice ballerina dancing at the Queen Therther.
Michael Mallia and Lisa Robert's at Queens Theater to celebrate Daniel Zausner.
Only theatre I know of queens 👸... located in the heart of flushing meadow ... right by the globe 🌎. Very modern. Venue is diverse. 🤗 …
Loved the show so much.
Lovely theater. Chicken and Biscuits was an amazing play. Will definitely promote the play and be back for additional events at this theater.
I performed there .. it will be perfect if I could manage the sound system
This is one of my favorite venues. It's nearby has excellent shows performances. It has convenient parking and you can always count on having excellent entertainment. It's always a great evening when you don't have to travel into the city to see cultural events. It's a small venue and very very pleasant. The people who work there are extremely welcoming. The venue is not expensive and it's very diverse
This place is great - if you love history you'll love this place. There is so much history here from the 1930's World's Fair to the 1964 World's Fair to so many other things that they have had there. This is a fun place to go with the family, I went this winter for the first time since I was a newborn in my stroller in 1964. And cant wait till I go back this spring/fall.
Saw a wonderful dance show. It's a small personal venue where the artists can interact with the audience.
Don't be put off because it seems difficult to get to. It's really not.
They are reopening with health protocols in place.
Came here to see "The Queen Bees". It was a yelp elite event that brought me here. I never knew Queens had a theater until that day. It's a fairly decent sized theater and you can purchase small bites and sandwiches to eat. The architecture of the building is unique. You would have never suspected such a building to exist in the park. The building is located right beneath the ruins in the park (the tall circular building that looks like a huge torturing device). Parking was free.
The show was enjoyable. Definitely well done for their budget range. I don't know the details but in comparison to Broadway shows who presumable have a lot more funding, this was well done. The performance was not sold out but a lot of people were there. Only thing I didn't like about the show was the transition to the song " ". I think they could have made that transition a lot smoother. It really felt out of place. A subtle critique is that sometimes when the singers sing really loud in the higher octaves, the voice sounded a little "tinny". However, I do understand it can be difficult to preserve the tune quality in that regards.
Overall, it was a great performance. Story line was good. I would recommend it to others.
As a small theater, it still can give the impression of being in a large space, with a Greek theater arrangement and great acoustics.
I was there for my daughter's school performance of "The Wizard of Oz." They put on a beautiful, professional-style performance. Having been to school plays before in school auditoriums and gyms, this theater was a real pleasure. I enjoyed the performance not only because my daughter was in it, but because I could see and hear everything.
I would definitely recommend this theater for any performance for a small to medium audience. The stage offers everything that a professional show could want, from flying across the stage to coming up from below.
The theater also offers local shows from theater groups. There is also an outdoor area that was built for a World's Fair.
I went for my niece recital and the theater was a bit small but seemed very clean
Was on location as an extra for a iconic NYC TV Show. Never been before. First thing I thought of, was that famous scene from "Men In Black", while the alien roach was trying to climb the tower and take off in a ship and return back to its galaxy. Such a hilarious scene. Will have to return and explore more. The "World's Fair" took place here.
The theatre was intimate and the staff is top notch. Mr. Fernando is a really cool guy. I had a great time while visiting the theatre. They were able to accommodate a large group on short notice and nailed it. Great venue.
It’s a nice venue in Queens. However driving there or getting via public transportation is a bit problematic. They need better signs to get there. Once you find the place, they have ample parking spaces, a large hall to meet and chat with friends who attend an event.
The theatre is just amazing. They have great plays (adult and children ), comedy, dancing, performances. Prices are not expensive. Took granddaughter to see Frida Libre play, it was wonderful. A most go place with family and friends.
My son graduated middle school at the QT 3 years ago and it was beautiful. Just as Paul Simon's Farewell Tour concert was phenomenal last Saturday, September 22, 2018. I grew up in Flushing Queens during the mid 60s, 70s and 80s. We rode our bikes to Flushing Meadows Park everyday for years.💜😊 …
Fantastic outer-boro spot offering a mix of drama, music and dance. Comfortable seats with good sight lines from almost every seat. Cute cafe in the lobby serving beverages and light snacks. Ample parking. A gem in Flushing.
It's one of the oldest theaters in Queens New York....Located inside the Flushing meadows park. The theater accommodates everything from dance to theater to singing and musical performances. Much needed theater for the area. Hope they continue to get funding!
Attended my son's graduation there. It was nice.
Who knew that such a lovely theater existed in the middle of Flushing Meadows Park? This theater has been renovated and is state of the art. There is a free shuttle to/from the entrance of the 7 train subway so you don't have to trek through the park at night. The theater is deep in Flushing Meadows. Shuttle service or car is highly recommended.
I love volunteering at this facility. Lincoln Center school of American Ballet did a free program of what these young people learn to become professional both boys and girls seem to love it. Many started at a very early age. The kids love it and they participated.
Was a member for 30 years. Great venue! Interesting shows! Liked bigger productions like Chix 6 they had in the past. But budgets change. Check it out!
This place was amazing, beautiful interior, and the lighting effects really added to the performance of the night. Unfortunately the food area before the hall did not take credit cards and there was no atm. Besides that, highly recommend.
This theatre is cozy but nice. You have a great seat no matter where you are. We have had shows here and have attended other shows here. The rental price can't be beat for the quality of service.
It's a small venue but the shows are awesome. We had front row seats at a fraction of the cost vs going to Manhattan. Great class trip!
We saw a flemenco show at Queens Theater. The show was very enjoyable with very good quality dancers. There is free parking on premises. The theater is not overly big so all seats are good.
Came here with a show in April 2018. It's a bit of a walk from the train so leave plenty of time to get there. It's in a lovely location, museum close by, there's not a cafe or restaurant onsite but there's a coffee shop in the Queen's museum close by.
The shows at Queens Theater are spectacular, but there are not enough restrooms to accomodate the large audience. I would still recommend any one looking to soak up some culture check out Queens Theater.
Love it very romantic and nice place for musical concerts.
Went there for a field trip and the show was very fun
Gorgeous, perfect place for the family to get away from the city and tiny apartments. Enjoy the day with family, go do it. I bet you your going to have a ball. Go now
A nice little gem hidden in a much bigger gem that is Flushing Meadow Park.
We were watching a production of Hamlet in one of the small theaters. It was very cozy but not claustrophobic. We were very close to the performers but not so much that we were in their way.
Each time I've read Hamlet I do it thinking that the King is guilty and killed his brother just like Hamlet assumes, after meeting the ghostly apparition.
The other assumption I would make is thinking Polonius wanted to dissuade his Ophelia from Hamlet because he thought Hamlet only wanted her as a fling.
The actor playing Polonius was able to show that, after Ophelia showed the love letters from Hamlet, that he was behind the idea of them courting. A small detail I hadn't picked up just from reading the play.
On the former point, watching the play this time I felt that the King, or uncle, is innocent and that Hamlet just went crazy. His grief mistaken with a lust for revenge - and his uncle manifesting as the ire of said revenge.
Hamlet was played by a woman, didn't have a playbill so dont know her name. I suppose she did a good job at portraying a person on the verge of, and then going full into, insanity.
My instinct is to say that she could have done a better job, or done itdifferently, but I'm conflicted because it could be that I find Hamlet himself to be too schizo in his state.
Nice theater at a beautiful location, with the Museum right next door. Only complaint is that there was a dance performance that ran into the time of our play. We could hear the stomps next door and it was an annoyance while it went on
Designed by Philip Johnson in tandem with the New York State Pavilion for the 1964 World's Fair, the Theater, now the Queens Theater is an International Style jewel that needs some restoration work. It seats about 400 people I think. It is not very large and originally the screen surrounded you.
Definitely fantastic performance today! Sense & Sensibility!
Excellent seen prince's original band tonight. Another great concert. Thanks to rainbow sound the sound was excellent too.
You have to come and see Any Exhibition they might have here.check your calendar if events wont be disappointed.the theatre size is somewhat small but that invites to intimacy and conection with the play or movie or whatever they present.
Good shows in Queen ❤️
It was. A great time .my cousin's daugther was performing and a lot of other kids .amazing an earlier age can do so well ,and on the front of public
Quaint theater. Came to see Calpulli dance company. Note waze will leave you lost somewhere across the park on other side of highway, so use googlemaps to get there instead. If there's a big even parking can be a problem, arrive early.
I went for my young niece's dance recital and was pleasantly surprised to find refreshments being sold. Cheap beer and snacks plus the money goes to support the theater and park.
Great experience. Really enjoyed the play. Clean, well airconditioned. Even though seating was older, it was comfortable.
Remarkable documentary in a period 1964 theater designed by Philip Johnson for the 1964 World's Fair. The adjacent New York State Pavilion should be restored. The Unisphere is nearby, so is the New York Hall of Science and Queens Museum, Botanical Gardens and the Zoo.
I loved the layout of the place and the parking is awesome. They have diverse calendar of activities too.
Beautiful structure that was left to Rot to Hell. So sad. Nice to look at. They should refurbish and have orquestra nights during the summer.
Just saw Titan Theater Company's Christmas Carol - exceptional low cost production, fantastic cast, great costumes, simple but effective staging
Belly dancer was awesome
It's a nice theater. Nothing special about it. Has an old feel to it and the seats are stiff but comfortable.
Great little theatre, saw a few plays here. Very pleased. Easy parking.
Great shows, prices inexpensive, definitely not like NY.wonderful way to spend Sunday aft.or Saturday night.
Its a great theatre
Neat, clean beautiful a hidden gem.in Queens.
very beautiful place
Went to the theatre for a site visit. Theatre was closed at the time.
Great children's theater series. Shakespeare and other fare is offered for the parents. And every year, A Christmas Carol!
The 'spaceship towers' and giant globe used as the alien landing site in the "Men In Black" movie are the remnants of the 1964-65 New York Worlds Fair in Flushing Meadow.
Looking forward to seeing the Nutcracker :)
Tucked away in Flushing, this gem is worth discovering! Flamenco Navidad was truly amazing! Thank you!
Supports community events. I like the design.
Awesome place!
The Titan theater company put on a great Christmas Carol. Always enjoy their shows.
Offers a convenient option to see some good plays but is not ideal in terms of seating.
Very cool theater, very hard to find. It's right next to the world's fair mushroom buildings.
A JOY to work & meet so many wonderful people. THANK YOU Borough President Melinda Katz

Perfect place for events of all kinds. I have been in several made by the Hispanic community in NYC, very well done. With adequate space and perfect organization.
Very cozy, I liked it a lot
Super, it was my first time going there, Leo Dan's concert was great, the place was very nice, and its people were very friendly, GREETINGS FROM BOSTON. I went from Boston to see it, I enjoyed it a lot, thanks for existing.
A very nice experience
Lack of signage to get to the site. Access to the train is difficult. The theater seating should be a bit more modern.
Excellent theater in the heart of Flushing Park, where excerpts from the movie Men in Black were recorded.
Setting of the first movie of the Men In Black saga... if you're in New York and have some time... you must go
It is a small theater but very comfortable and cozy, good sound and great views of the entire theater
It's good, but there's a lot of garbage on the ground
It is a very special place to have a good time in the company of the family, congratulations
Renovated older performing arts venues, sound effects are average.
Theater with 470 seats a stone's throw from the Unisphere and the Queens Museum.
