Reviews of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts
Located in upper west Manhattan. This is a prime location for the arts. You can easily access Central Park, Juliard, metropolitan of Opera, NYC Ballet, and the New York Philharmonic.
If you’re into the performing arts.. this is where you should be!
Easily accessible by the 1,2, A,C lines and very close to NY staples such as TJs and Levain Bakery.
High end entertainment comprised of rich culture, lavish architecture, and wonderful performances. From the moment you step foot on premise the grand atmosphere is pervasive. The spacious plaza is buzzing with excitement prior to a performance. Ample photo opportunities exist with the extravagant decor that contribute to the opulent vibe. Wide range of performances cater to the gamut of attendees.
Lincoln Center is STUNNING. I have only had the privilege, at this time, of viewing the space from the outside, but, you can sense the grandeur of this venue by simply standing at the threshold of this structure. I am so excited to experience a ballet or an opera in this space at some point. The whole complex is absolutely beautiful. If you're in the area, and just want to explore, this space has great walkability and there is so much to see just by being in the outdoor spaces of Lincoln Center. Absolutely incredible!
This is such an iconic location to come listen to excellent music.
We wanted to see Xian Chang during the Summer for the City event going on these few months.
It was absolutely incredible seeing this massive theater and iconic halls. Every seat has a fantastic view of the area and allows for a perfect experience.
They do have an outside bar where you can buy drinks and snacks.
They don’t do physical programs anymore, however there are QR codes near the doors to allow you to pull up programs for the event going on that night.
I highly suggest coming here if you want to experience a once (or more) in a lifetime musical performance that will take your breath away!
An awesome venue for all performances! Seats r spacious, velvet, and the explanations of the singing on the individual seat screens is just fantastic! It makes opera intelligible 4 the average fan.
A beautiful place. It’s actually a complex. Several buildings in the same area with green areas between them and a nice plaza with a big fountain in the middle. Absolutely would recommend visiting it. It’s worth visiting. and there is a few restaurants/bars nearby for drinks/food after.
Beautiful buildings. First time seeing a show at the Lincoln center and I saw the New York City ballet. Place was nice and clean and the staff were friendly. They are very strict about not eating and using your phones while inside the theater. The seats however are very narrow so I took a star off for that.
It was so chaotic. However, the kept their cool. Impressive. I guess organized chaos. The theater, of course, is impressive. My first time, better than I imagined. I recommend you explore all levels. Lots to see.
The most beautiful opera house in the world. The MET has the best singers. I have been to the MET since my high school years and it was my favorite place ever since. The art works are amazing.
Summer for the City was well needed and much appreciated as I caught activities on two different days in the outdoor space in the Lincoln Center complex. The massive disco ball lived up to the hype with multiple performers bringing different vibes to the stage and coaching the audience to get their inner dance bunny out. I didn't miss my opportunity and the shared dance experience outdoors, with plenty of fresh air to enjoy, really was a great stress reliever after a couple years of health crisis. It's a large space, concessions are available, and the wife front staircase (each painted a rainbow color during Pride month) from the 9th avenue/Columbus side are an easy place to meet up friends coming from different locations.
This is the leading performing arts center in New York and one of the best in the world. Lincoln Center has buildings for the performing arts, jazz, music, cinema, etc. Currently, the Big Apple Circus is in a tent in Lincoln Center.
Big Apple Circus is a great little circus. It's definitely worth attending.
Love Lincoln centers Summer for the city!!! Midsummer nights swing was always a highlight and I’m glad to have this to scratch that itch I’ve been missing for two years! I did prefer the dance floor in Damrosch park, since I feel the fountain breaks up the dance floor and makes it feel more challenging to socialize and find fellow dancers, but the disco ball does look cool in photos 😝
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is a wonderful place to visit, explore, and enjoy the arts. Summer 2022 sees a special opportunity to disco the night away under the stars and a giant mirror ball.
Enjoy the sculptures, rest areas, and just sit back and people watch.
April 25, 2014 and we caught the New York Philharmonic Orchestra concert. The venue was huge and ornate made even better by hearing professional artists playing at the top of their game. I had to turn my phone off before they started playing as it was against the rules to have it on, for fear that a ringing phone might interrupt performance. The pool in the Courtyard also had sculptures in it! The area was generally well kempt and it was all professional. I'm glad to have come here for the experience.
I went to see BAANG dance program brought to us for Lincoln Center and it was amazing.
This was a free event where 5 dancing school came together to delight New Yorkers during the summer.
I really loved each dance school, each of them present their art and cultures and different but vivid ways.
Thank you to Lincoln Center for such wonderful event.
A New York must visit!
There are shows ongoing through out the year! The ambience is perfect and you get to meet people who enjoy similar things as you do. It is pretty family oriented as well.
Amazing venue with some beautiful architecture to watch and enjoy the ballet. The circular water fountain outside makes for a fabulous focal point for family pictures.
We were there to watch Shen Yun a
Cultural song and dance performance before Communist China. Tickets were super expensive, the show lacked. On a scale from one to ten? I would rate a 6, the Costumes were colorful and the digital screen staged the scenes for each story line. The orchestra was amazing.
The new David Geffen theatre is spectacular. The architects did an excellent job improving the view and the carved wood is really majestic. Kudos for opening ahead of schedule!
Must see if you're in Manhattan. Comfortable seats with personal electronic subtitles. If you want to visit the restaurant - make a reservation, it gets crowded in the intermissions.
As a former New Yorker, the Metropolitan Opera is a perfect venue for Opera. Plan ahead if you make a pilgrimage to see your favorite opera or singers. Reasonable prices if you're willing to sit in the balcony or standing room.
Lincoln center is a wonderful place, the different theaters have a variety of performing arts. And during the summer there are often events in Lincoln Plaza
Went and saw Mozart's Magic Flute. An amazing opera, with beautiful sets. This opera is good to take children too. Must show your vaxx card and ID to enter Lincoln Center. Lincoln Center is located 64th and Columbus
My family and I spent a wonderful afternoon at Lincoln Center. We were on our way home when we heard a contagious Latin music, live. We enjoyed the dance classes, then we ate a delicious gelato, while we enjoyed the calm and the fresh breeze of the plaza. Later we saw a ballet performance, which was above and beyond. Lincoln Center offers a variety of enriching cultural activities for all ages, many are free this summer. The experience was wonderful, especially for my girls.
Thank you Lincoln Center!
A must visit while in new york arrive early so you will have time to admire the architecture. There is something playing every night at The Met
We went to the LA TRAVIATRA OPERA AND IT WAS GREAT 👍 AND THE SEATS WERE PACKED FOR A WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND IT WAS GREAT TO SEE THE SHOW AND ON BRAKES WE GOT CHAMPAGNE 🍾 FOR THE BIRTHDAY PART OF THE DAY AND NIGHT, FOR MY HUBBY WHO I LOVE ❤️ AND CARE ABOUT SO MUCH ♡♡♡ …
My sister and I purchased tickets to see a French ballet play. It was amazing it was our first time. Such an incredible experience we really enjoyed ourselves and met a nice older couple. Strongly recommend for dates or bonding time!
I love the easy access and underground Opera drop-off area. Very family and senior friendly.
The Met Opera is always a treat and the main reason for me to visit
Stunning. Stunning. Stunning. I went on a date to go to the New York City Ballet and I was blown away! The architecture and the space is just so impressive! WE found these amazing tickets that are $30 for people who are under 30 years old. If you want an affordable and artsy date in the City this is the spot!
The renovated Geffen hall is amazing! Sitting near the orchestra with the sound so soothing and permeating in the space.... amazing.
Even if you don’t go in to see a show this is a really cool area for pictures, food and to hang out. Love the vibe! You can find decent street parking after 7 pm and it’s fairly safe to walk around after dark! Highly recommend
If you love artistic performances then this the place to go. Different performances ranging from Xmas shows to operas. Something for everyone. Just check in advance and buy tickets early. Family friendly, couples or friendly get together are all ok. Near public transportation so, leave the car home.
Great spot to sit around in summer time at nights. Inside is nice small concerts.
Beautiful theatre inside and outside. Highly recommend to experience this beautiful place. Came here a few times already. The only issue is the restroom. Very small and gets beyond crowded before, intermission and after show.
There are many soft pillows or beds outside surrounded the beautiful fountain. It's so relaxing laying down, and listening the water sound.
What an amazing place to be. Lincoln center for the performing arts is a jewel in New York City's west side. In my college days, I had the distinct pleasure of having private study with a member of the New York Philharmonic. I will cherish the memory of those days forever.
Several concert halls to consider, including NY film festival showings. Search for free concerts.
Masks required at the time of this post.
Beautiful American ballet theater is back.Three amazing pieces. Great costumes, performances, music.New Ratmanski piece is very interesting.Wonderful night! So glad to be able to see it again!
The West Side Story New musical Movie there was great..funn.cool and a Wonderful nightcap to a Festive season of events at Lincoln Center. Look forward to repeat of this next summer.
A perfect dining venue before a show at Lincoln Center. Food is put together by a professional kitchen and made with care. I had a wonderful time with my daughter.
Great place for Quality opera, ballet and classical music performances
It was such an honor that Fire Shut Up in My Bones was our first Met Opera live performance. The opera was incredibly moving and the theatre was as stunning as I’d imagined. We sat in row F of the Grand Tier and the view/sound balance was just right in my opinion.
Awesome experience. We watched Taylor a new era, which is a mordent dancing show. Loved it!
Acoustics are great. We were sitting on the back of the orchestra. It is cool because you are nice and close....
My kid performed in the Lincoln Center recently. It was one of best performances I ever saw. Very proud of her!
A distinctive title for art and displays a distinct period of the era of art and architectural design in the 19/20th century
Really nice place, nice staff need to know a little bit your audience went to a hispanic concert and they didnt shift to the spanish side of been happy people
The nutcracker ballet at the Lincoln Center Koch theater was incredible. The venue was clean and the staff very polite and helpful. We found our seats with ease thanks to the ushers directions, and the performance was so wonderful. They even took the time to put an extra paper into our programs informing us of a last minute cast change for some of the performers over all a very nice experience and I’d go again.
Great place to see performances… plenty of restaurants nearby and hotels
The Josie Robertson public space has transformed into one inviting guests to stay even longer. There is a temporary artificial turf around the famous fountain. It’s a great space to picnic on a date or with family. There are two concession stands selling ice cream and small plates. Worth a couple hours of your time as we wait for the traditional high art shows to return.
A center of cultural fabulousness! What doesn't offer to new Yorkers and visitors? :)
My favorite place in Manhattan. Often I go to the opera there and it's always like stepping into another world.
Updated Review: The last time I was here was to see Shakespeare's Macbeth performed by a famous Japanese kabuki group on a rainy day. It was excellent. I have seen so many things here, my family doing the same across the generations! It's so refreshing to see the arts & charity still flourishing here.
Very kind staff and security who helped me find out more about recent events as well as direct me to facilities that were, to my pleasant surprise, not only accessible but gender-affirming!
Continue to grow and shine, Lincoln Center!
Original Review: One of my favorite art centers in the whole city.
So many cultural options on this sprawling campus. The online portal connects you to each organization’s site with more event schedules and details.
One of a kind art installations always bring a vibrant energy to this space especially around this time of year!
Beautiful space with the iconic lit up stairs. Such a great place to watch a show/performance and enjoy a lovely nice out in the city. Highly recommend visiting and supporting the arts. You can also get great shots of the fountain, buildings and of course, by the stairs!
Lincoln Center . . One of America’s premier performing venues . Stunning buildings and theaters on site - Easy to reach from anywhere in Manhattan!
Went to see a comedy show there. Nice theater.
We were going to the ballet for a birthday celebration and sadly, the birthday boy got sick. Rather than dragging him to the performance while he was sick, I asked at the box office If we could receive a credit to go another time. The Box office employee was so kind and understanding..... I really appreciated it. We look forward to going another time.
A true NYC destination for all types of cultural events . If your in the city
Look for events and attend.
Metropolitan opera is one of the best in the world, and there is not much else to say. Only one minor wrinkle: their buffet only serves wines and some sweets, while in other areas of the world you can expect caviar and other delicacies in theaters.
The 1960s architecture is still fresh and exciting. It attracts an elegant, well-dressed crowd. The concept of one-stop shopping for all the performing arts holds up well.
Fabulous artistic performances that tickle your intellectual fancy. Have your tickets ready, but be prepared to pay for premium parking or dining options! Otherwise, it's a memorable night out.
Beautiful performance space. I was here recently for the opening of the new David Geffen Hall. They had free performances for a whole wekeend including an outdoor acrobatics team that scaled the outside walls of the new hall. It was amazing!
The new Geffen hall is incredible. It sounds amazing and the design is fantastic
Went for the globalfest. Loved the performances I attended! Drinks line was unbearable. Wish water was more readily available.💦 …
This review is for the new Geffen Hall. I am sharing my thoughts after attending a Christmas choral concert.
The newly renovated hall is attractive in a comfortably spare style with plenty of natural stained wood, and, since it just reopened this month, has that pleasant new-Honda smell. The acoustics seem decent, and I imagine, is improved over the old hall. I sat mid-first tier and could hear the single flute and cello in their glory. The chorus also sounded great, especially when at full throat.
HOWEVER. Someone made the unfortunate decision to mike the soloists, and their sound through the Geffen Hall speakers were dreadful.
The sibilant raspiness and overall harshness is only marginally better than the PA system on your average subway train.
By all means go hear symphony music at Geffen Hall. But run the other way from any concert that involves amplification because something is very wrong with Geffen’s speaker system.
The revamped David Geffen Hall is very nice itself is very nice - and was nice to have The Richard Tucker Gala there this year. They need better signage though for the restrooms!
My family and I had a marvelous time at the Metropolitan Opera. It was absolutely stunning. The whole experience was outstanding. I look forward to going again.
We seen "Magic Flute". Really enjoyed the opera.
The ballet shows are always fantastic 👌 👏 …
I signed up to take the backstage tour, and learned a lot about how a repertoire company can perform multiple operas in a week. There are a LOT of people behind the scenes, and I suppose they are all paid a living wage or better, so remember that the next time ýou are tempted to comment on ticket prices.
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (also simply known as Lincoln Center) is a 16.3-acre (6.6-hectare) complex of buildings in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City.It has thirty indoor and outdoor facilities and is host to 5 million visitors annually. It houses nationally and internationally renowned performing arts organizations including the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, and the New York City Ballet. Juilliard School of Music also became part of the Lincoln Center complex
Attended Opera at the Met. The Magic Flute, costumes and set were fantastic.
It is the stage that all artists look forward to, and it is also the New York Cultural Center with a theater, opera house, concert hall and outdoor concert hall.
The Lincoln Center is a meeting place for performance venues and the largest art venue in the world. It can accommodate a total of 18,000 spectators at the same time.
It is mainly based on the three theaters surrounding the Fountain Square-the New York State Theater, the Metropolitan Opera House, and Avery Fee. Snow Concert Hall is the main venue, as well as the Guggenheim Open-air Plaza in the west, the New York Performing Arts Library in the east, Julia College, and Ellis Durley Concert Hall. The center will also hold some regular events, such as Midsummer Night Swing Night, Mozart Music Festival, and the Emmy Awards at the Lincoln Center.
You can take subway line 1 to get off at Lincoln Center station, or take lines A, B, C, D to 59-Columbus Circle station.
Excellent. I went to see the Nutcracker. I did not see the dance of the Toy Soldiers, but I enjoyed the evening and performance anyway.
Went to Metropolitan Opera twice in couple months and I really think that Lincoln Center is nicely built cultural center. Also it is not far from Metropolitan museum and I recommend people to combine those two visits.I myself go to Metropolitan Museum at 10 am and then from 1pm walk to Lincoln Center through Central Park ,have lunch near by Lincoln center and then go to Metropolitan Opera at 3pm for show. All walking distance.
NYC Ballet and symphony is fabulous. 🩰 …
This was one of this best shows I have ever seen. “My Fair Lady". The girls are still talking about this show today. The facility was very clean and neat. I love the women’s bathroom, it was very unique. Inside the theater we had an excellent view. It wasn’t a seat in front of the stage, but the way they have designed the theater made each seat great. The staff was very helpful, they will assist you if you need help to locate your correct seating. We will definitely return again.
I love this place! I’ve been going since I was 3 years old and my brother was 5! It’s always been the same classy and amazing place and I’ve been going for over 30 years. Thanks for all the wonderful memories and may Lincoln Center live forever!
Definitely worth a visit. If you are a New Yorker, this is a must at least once. Get there a little early to take pictures. It gets crowded very quickly. There is a restaurant inside and snack bars. I would suggest you do not seat in the boxes. When they state that the view is obstructed, they mean it! The boxes are small and tight. Not worth it. Seat somewhere in the middle even if its in balcony. The snack bar is super expensive so eat before going. Its a long show but there is a break. I love that they have translators on every seat. Its pretty cheap, starting at 30 and goes up depending where you seat.
We went to see the ABT. Absolutely loved the performance and the building itself. As it was a weekday matinee during pride super quiet. Would gladly return again and again. Tickets on the upper balcony extremely good value. Just dont buy interval drinks. 27 dollars for a lemonade, coke and biscuit....
Very quite and romantic setting for two or if your a group even better. Love the ambiance and open feel of the place. You can see the kitchen and chefs whip up their master pieces, and the open bar section is great. Everything about this place was a great experience. I had ordered something that wasn't to my tasting and the staff and chef made it a point to accommodate me and my guess with a complementary dish as a great way to satisfy and offer excellent customer service. Lincoln Restorante is now on my list of special places to take guess out while in the city.
Opening night of Porgy and Bess, It was magnificent. It was my first red carpet event and the energy was lit. The show was great my first Opera and I felt like a movie star. Lincoln Center is the the diamond stud of performance arts. The crowd was stimulating and everyone was so polite, I must invest into going to more great events at Lincoln Center.
The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts serves three primary roles: world’s leading presenter of superb artistic programming, national leader in arts and education and community relations, and manager of the Lincoln Center campus. $1.2 billion campus renovation, completed in October 2012.
Gorgeous, expansive space. The outdoor courtyard and fountain are great places to take photos. Great acoustics through the whole space. Production was gorgeous. This is something to get dressed up for!
New York City Performing Arts Center, an amazing menu of Opera, Theatre, Chamber music and great outdoors events
A gorgeous opera house situated on tranquil and beautiful grounds. This place is really a reminder of the emphasis and investment that New York places on and within the arts. We saw Wozzeck in German and the MetTitles made it a great experience.
Great spot for catching up with someone with some nice scenery, and possibly free shows to check out nearby. Nice in the day time as well as the night. Can absorb alot of the energy of the great minds that have passed through this place, and refocus yourself as well if you're just chilling.
The whole complex is quite impressive, even in a very cold winter night which was the case for us tonight. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the rendition of My Fair Lady at the Beaumont Theater. Compared to some of the other theaters closer to the Times Square it is a much more spacious venue. However it is a bit out of the way so you may need to figure out some sort of transportation when the weather is quite cold.
Such a beautiful place. We saw the NY Ballet do The Nutcracker and it was absolutely stunning. Definitely worth the price of admission!
I took my son here to the Big Apple Circus for his 6th birthday and he had a blast!
Lincoln Center truly is a magical place to see music and performance art of any kind. The view is great from any seat, the acoustics are excellent, and there is always something interesting on the events schedule for everyone.
Attended a Summer for the City free event. This event was located at the Oasis at Josie Robertson Plaza. This outdoor venue was beautifully created. Additionally a talented merengue típico band was playing called Típico Urbano.
My first ballet happened to be the Nutcracker at the Lincoln Center so now I'm spoiled for life. The building is exceptionally inspiring and fitting for NYCs premiere performing arts. I'm excited to return for more performances.
Beautiful, peaceful, and remarkable, this place has changed. They added a line of fashionable black blocks/stones to protect the plaza. It is not only safe but also remarkably comfortable to observe the plaza and the fountain!!! Lovely experience! You should try)
This design by Clint Ramos is spectacular! Beautiful creative use of the space!
Went for Swan Lake Ballet show here. Gorgeous Metropolitan House just blew my mind away. Swarowski crystal chandeliers and ceiling is 24 karat gold. Seating capacity is 1500. Loved it.
One of my favourite places in the city — the performing arts here are world-class. This area is certainly one of the reasons NYC is known to be one of the cultural centers of the world!
Love going to performances here
Attended the outside dance concert. Amazing time!
It's an iconic place to hang out or visit if you're tourist even though if you're living in the city. There are many architecture and theater to see and very interesting.
Saw "The Nutcracker" here and it was fantastic! The theatre is so beautiful. The production was so well performed and the sets are beyond belief. It's a must see for sure!
A phenomenal place to take in a show this legendary venue offers it's patrons the opportunity to immerse themselves in all things theater. Take a tour of the expansice 16 acre facility, take in a show, or take to the architectural and horticultural beauty that is the Laurie M Tisch illumination lawn there truly is something for everyone at the world's largest performing arts center.
(The included photos are from Bartlett Shars revival if Lerner & Loewe’s MY FAIR LADY which was held in the Lincoln Center Theater. With an expansive stage there really is not one bad seat in the house)
We enjoyed an outdoor concert at this venue, there were a number of acts including " Something Positive dance company".
A wonderful collection of performing arts spaces ranging from the home of Metropolitan Opera to the various smaller spaces for theater and chamber music. Beautiful during the day or night to just steel through and explore the various views.
This place is quite magical and no matter what event you go to that is held here. You guaranteed to have a great time and the event will be really good because it's not easy to book a event here.
Beautiful at any time of day. Not only known for the wonderful shows including the New York philharmonic but also the metropolitan opera house, the theater house, the library, the ballet house, the Lincoln restaurant, the amphitheater, and Juilliard right next door. Worth a walk.
I have enjoyed the Lincoln center every single time I have gone . Being at the premiere of Escape at Dannemora and after party was an amazing experience . I’ve heard actor talks , listened to fantastic music and seen some really good movies . All of the staff is top notch. Clean and polished set up here . Never disappointed.
The Best Summer events! Summer for the City:
Jubilee for Jimmy: what a literary tribute to James Baldwin!!
I loved coming here to see Tchaikovsky's No.5 when I was in town. The hall is massive, beautiful, and clean. The staff were very professional, and the experience was amazing. The halls acoustics were also fantastic. Definately catch a symphony down at the Lincoln center.
Perfect place for the whole family to see Bailey, Opera and classical music. Must to visit.
A great performance by the "Sun of Latin Music" Mr. Eddie Palmieri & his band! Seating arrangements were good {2 seats per ticket holder), well separated from the others due to current conditions. Lighting on the stage was very impressive with different colorful effects. Had it been 2 years ago there would've been hundreds of people dancing & socializing, but all in all it was intimate & very exciting as far as the music!
This is the view from Family Circle (seats are only $25 - $30). The sound quality is superb. Many people think you have to get dressed up, but this is not true. You can go in jeans or casual pants and a decent shirt. Sneakers and comfortable shoes are okay. Some people will be very dressed up, and that is great, but it is not required. There is a designated parking lot so you don't have to go outside. Line by line translations are on the back of the seat in front of you, so you turn it on if you need it. It takes longer to sing the line than read the line, so you can read and watch the show easily. Multiple languages are available. Highly recommend you go. It couldn't be easier or more enjoyable. Buying an inexpensive ticket is not a sacrifice! The sound quality is superb.
Incredibly talented musicians of the New Philharmonic. I saw Strauss Alpine sinfonie was amazing, really powerful seeing this live.
Trips to NYC are not complete without seeing a performance at the Lincoln center. It is great that now we can also take our young girls.
Saw the Big Aple Circus at Lincoln Center, and it was an amazing family activity. Prices for tickets were great and food and drink was not overly expensive.
The newly renovated Philharmonic Hall is outstanding visually and acoustically. Plus it's so warm and welcoming. A true success!
Visiting the iconic Lincoln center makes you feel like standing in the center of the performing arts world. With world renowned organizations such as New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, New York City Ballet and Julliard School to name a few calling it home, you just admire in awe, the socio-cultural significance of Lincoln Center. The 3 main buildings are exquisite and the plaza with it's iconic fountain in the middle is always a refreshing sight for your eyes.
Stunning center for the performing arts. Make sure that you know what event center to go to because there are a few performances going on at once. They could have better cocktail service. Lines are long and slow.
Pro Tip: you can take your drinks into the theater only if they are covered. That means you need to buy the souvenir sippy cups, not the regular cups
My life will be not as wonderful without Metropolitan Opera
So much to see so little time but Lincoln Center is a world famous location and its a must see when you come to NYC. Best part you don't need to spend any money to enjoy its beauty. There is an amazing fountain perfect for pictures , reflecting pool and green spaces to chill out. Of course if you can see the Ballet or take in a show. Its worth it .If you go now you get to see a world class Ballerina waiting across the street for a cool picture
What can one say about the largest artistic cultural center in the world. It's the perfect place to go, both for tourists and New Yorkers. Lots of security. Safe clean and family friendly. Lots of activities for the children. When I die I want to be buried there.
A cultural center in the heart of NYC. We have subscriptions here to the NY Phil and enjoy the proximity to so many great restaurants in the area. It's a visual and aural treat coming here!
New York opulence at its best. Great theatre and sound. Truly phenomenal experience hearing Michael Douglas talk about creating The Kominsky Method. Great place for screenings. A lot to do in the area.
Came to see the magical flute play. Very nice show and well done. Staff is friendly and helpful. Great venue for theatre plays etc. Very elegant arena and place.
Great opera house and very elegant.
Saw the opera Peter Grimes. A fantastic production of an amazing opera. The Met is always a great experience.
Xmas season is time for Nutcracker. Go and enjoy a magical and timeless winter experience. Your kids won't never forget it.
You really feel like youre at the heart of it all! What a privilege to attend a show here! Makes for a special experience. The plaza renovations are beautiful and fun to explore.
This if probably one of the most beautiful theatres on the planet. It is such a wonderful venue for seeing any kind of production, however, I personally love seeing ballets and dance productions.
Opera was outstanding. Music was excellent. Singing was out of this world. Definitely suggest seeing.
Saw American Ballet Theatre's Romeo and Juliet at the MET...Breathtaking!
Beautiful!
My children and I, along with my mom went to see the Big Apple Circus!
Lovely, through and through.
The nutcracker ballet was magical!
There is no other place like Lincoln Center to enjoy excellent classical music, Ballet, Jazz and art in general. Take pictures and enjoy the beautiful view of this magnificent place!!!
Nice opera , beautiful sound and hall. You can buy cheap tikets in last sets and still enjoy the show and sound.
It’s gorgeous. The iconic water pond. The beautiful chandeliers. Unique architecture. Lovely restaurant, and wonderful ambience. Tourist from all over come here. It’s always busy and bright. Sometimes you’ll see a famous dog, MrPancake!
The venue is beautiful with amazing chandeliers and comfortable seats. The staff is very efficient and helpful. We saw Swan Lake and thought the production was amazing from the talent on and off stage. Designs were amazing, sounded amazing, beautiful lighting, and the orchestra was brilliant.
Amazing venue! I saw the NY Philharmonic here, and I thought it was gorgeous. The plaza is super clean and well kept. I really enjoyed seeing the fountain lit up at night. I’ve been here a bunch of times just to look around, but I finally saw a show here and I was really glad about that. Definitely want to go back again sometime soon.
I just love the vibe this place has even if I'm not going to a performance.
One of my favorite spots in NYC. You are in the middle of the hustle and bustle, you have picturesque NYC all around you, walking distance to the Hudson river park, mass transit right there, not to mention if you are looking for some brownie points, take yo chick to a ballet. Dress her up, go in there ballin, watch people tippy toe around a stage, go home and be the HERO.
Stunning architecture. Beautiful opera. Covid protocols very secure. Pro tip: hustle at intermission to get into the line for the bar. Line forms quickly.
Beautiful center. I'm glad to have this place in my city.
Beautiful! Amazing how premier facilities are.
First time at an opera and The Metropolitan opera didn't disappoint. Magnificent. I'll be back.
Amazing place, very clean and organized. Went to see the orchestra tribute to the notorious Big and it was perfect
Great performances and I really love the venues.
A great free concert. Colombian Artist, children's /parent workshop. A great day.
It looked amazing !!!! I love everything about this and the play. At one point they broke the screen but honestly I thought it was still amazing and looked like it was planned out ! I love this
Should you find some place to look around during your travel, never hesitate to visit here.
You will see its beauty of art.
We visited NY with the sole reason of going to The Met. What a great experience. Stunning building. Great views, we had a box, which was worth it. Loved every moment. Will definitely be going back
Easy entry, organized ushers and NYCB never fails to enchant.
This is like being asked to rate Central Park or Trafalgar Square - what we say will make not enhance nor diminish this awesome institution that’s bigger than Google, TripAdvisor, etc. Lincoln Center Out of Doors had a screening of “Liza with a Z” (look it up!) and we came with friends to enjoy the free screening. What a lovely gift to the community. As is the fountain, which, at night, goes from merely stunning to downright magical with the water dancing in the lights. Wow...
Incredible hall with great sound design, staging, lighting, acoustic treatment, great for conferences, opera, performance, many fond memories here for many new Yorkers.
There's any place so diverse! Exquisite theaters for ballet, jazz to oprah. We always have superb experiences when we attended with families and friends.
Really amazing. The art around, the shows and the organization. Really love the experience
The performance was overwhelminng. Stages were extraordinary explicit.
Only some functions of the aged building need to be taken care of.
The new Geffen Hall is wonderful
Lincoln Center added surf turf to their lawn They also they added tables and chairs to the lawn to sit and relax. A lot of construction going on but not noisy.
Saw a show at Vivian Beaumont Theatre. I think any seat would be good there.
Great shows and atmosphere. Can sit near the fountain to take in the views!
Had brunch on Sunday at the Metropolitan Opera House. It's a pre-fixe menu and all you can drink bellinis. The food was great, the eggs Benedict was my favorite. The best part though is at about noon and 2 they have a singer and a pianist perform about 4 songs while you're dining. Definitely not an experience to miss.
Love the outdoor plaza and park in the summertime with the free concerts and dance performances and the Midsummer Night Swing. Love the atmosphere of Alice Tully Hall as well. And the fountain and the outdoor grassy area on the Hearst Plaza and the sculptures
This place is super peaceful, beautiful and amazing. You can stop by and sit on the bench, spending time. The building looks so geometric, which is really remarkable!! At night, it looks more beautiful. So classic but modern. I want to visit this place and watch a show everyday
I think it's better to visit at night so you can see lots of lights. There is not much spots to sit, instead there is a small grassy hill to have a rest
Home to the Metropolitan Opera (MET) and American Ballet Theatre (ABT), Lincoln Center is top destination in the World for opera and ballet lovers. Staging, decor, orchestra and performances are the best even compared to Italy's famous opera houses like the Teatro La Scala or Teatro La Fenice. Pricey for premium seats but definitely worth it
The place is very nice and peaceful and calm love it. They have water fountain outside and the place is big. I was there for the umbrella event
aida is long but a triumph.
I went to the nut cracker show it was awesome 👍.me ,my supervisor and seniors from union settlement.we had a great 👍 …
Every visit here is a wonderful experience. Historic, beautiful New York City.
Beautiful place to go to see performances, there is a water fountain in the middle
Only the best of Opera, Ballet, Chamber Music, etc. Beautiful theaters and performance spaces with food venues. Cocktails available before and at intermissions in most cases. Dinners before and after with reservations.
The staff and service are awesome, but some of the carpeting could be cleaner, overall liked the performance and would recommend anyone visiting NYC to see it
I enjoyed sitting on the Green by the fountain. Cool breeze & very relaxing.
If your into that kind of thing it's a wonderful place for Oprah and musical lovers are just a walk but me I'm more into video games and bass fishing so not my cup of tea but maybe it is yours
The best venue in Manhattan and worldwide to see fabulously lavished Opera productions.
The best place in nyc to see the ballet, opera, symphony, etc. Even if you aren't seeing a performance it's a wonderful place to just go sit at the fountain or on the green
Came to enjoy the Opera. Was a lovely experience, the seats have different subtitle options and the visibility was great even at the back of the room. The production was out of this world. We saw Figaro's Wedding
Worked a party here. All the truly big society names of New York.......how shall we say, " no ghastly show business people here"
Went to see a ballet show of Romeo and Juliette with my boyfriend and it was such a romantic night. Amazing interiors and the people were dressed beautiful.
What an iconic area of the city. You can feel the creative juices flowing through the air
Beautiful water-fountain in the middle. Picturesque especially on a day its not crowded. Next to multiple theatre halls and an outdoor area where bands often play.
Always a wonderful experience. I've seen two operas and an orchestra performance so far and looking forward to seeing a ballet at some point soon. It's a beautiful venue and always provides a fun excuse to get dolled up for a night on the town.
Such a wonderful place. Great shows and events. Some summer events offered for free. My family loves Lincoln Center.
It's like going to Mecca for the performing arts.
This was one of this best shows I have ever seen. It was "My Fair Lady". We are still talking about this show. The center was very clean and neat. I love the women bathroom. Inside the theater was excellent view, I did not have a seat in front of the stage but design of the theater made each location great. No poles or signs blocking my view. Also staff very helpful, they will assist you to find your correct seating. Will return again.
I enjoyed our time spent at the Lincoln Center for the Arts. We watched the NYC Ballet perform "The Sleeping Beauty."
The exhibit of the grass and the colorful steps are wonderful. I took my daughter here to take some graduation photos.
It was nice going there the ballet was great the show outside with people hanging climbing the walls was also
I'm in love with the place. It worth to visit and captured some great photos. Very quiet and fresh. The performance is beyond description, the design and building are authentic and unique.
Amazing art monument. I had such a great time experiencing the sights and sounds of Lincoln center. Got a little shopping done too.
It’s still the best place to be! Very clean, well organized. Buy a Binoculars theater glasses if you get a balcony (even if I found it useless as the sound is perfect)
Koch theater... very nice place to see the ballet. Excellent view even from the top tier.
As a volunteer Shenyun art promoter. I came to LincolnIt's every year. I especially spend several days during our performance period. I could feel proud to say tickets for our show sold up so well. No empty seats left. Westerners came to see the profound meaning of Chinese culture. One thing I also want to mention that the coffee of Lincoln Center is Good 😊👍💫🌟
I had the privilege of experiencing the one of the dopest(if not the dopest) presentations of history in history! I took my high school students. Everything was top notch--the music, the images, the attire(art-tire may be more suitable because they all looked like works of art onstage in their Ankara prints). Soundtrack 63 tells the story of the African/Black experience in America so powerfully, that it drew cheers and tears from my teenagers, and you know that's not easy... If you ever get a chance to see this show, you must!
Lincoln Center is one of the MOST AMAZING places in NYC for the performing arts. I grew up going to see The Nutcracker at the NYC Ballet, and later on (after college and grad school) I even worked @ Lincoln Center for a couple of years: in the Box Office at the Vivian Beaumont Theater and at the New York City Opera (NYCO) which was housed at the State Theater 🎭 -- my career highlight there was working on the marketing team of the 29th Anniversary NYCO premiere production of the Opera "Roberto Devereaux" back in 1999; it had originally opened at NYCO in 1970.
My high school's graduation was also held in Avery Fisher Hall (now the David Geffen Hall) where the NY Philharmonic is housed. We had a graduating class of about 1,000 students (plus all their family members); SO, it's one of the only venues that's large enough to accommodate NYC public high school graduations.
And of course, my parents used to go to The Met ALL the time (my Dad in particular ❤️'d the Opera) so I saw La Boheme, Aida, Il Trovatore, Tosca, Madama Butterfly & Le Nozze Di Figaro, Rigoletto, The Magic Flute & Turandot all before I was even out of elementary school.
The Lincoln Center has the best free summer program "NYC's largest outdoor dance floor with a 10-foot disco ball is now open!"
It's a great honor to be there, in the audience, and as performer as well! Professionalism at both sides of the stage! Chapeau!
Amazing! If you are into the arts as I am you will love it. There are people who may not appreciate Lincoln Center because it's not for everyone, but it's worth your time to see the beauty of the property with the beautiful fountain as well as the gorgeous lights from the Center. It really is something to try if you've never been to a ballet or opera. Spectacular!
Have been going to the NYC Ballet since I was a young girl.
Always love the majesty of it.
Yesterday, we encountered not one or 2 GRUMPY staff, but 4!!!
The MOST PLEASANT employee was the coat check attendant.
It was a 2 o'clock matinee.
I was in a cast with a cane.
Greeter at door , security inside and ticket checker at door on 2nd ring left..all unnecessarily nasty in tone and attitude.
Performance and music however, MAGICAL!¡ DANCERS AWESOME!!
really cool experience just hanging out on the grass lawn of Lincoln center with these amazing performing artists and families from the local neighborhood just enjoying the sun and a little bit of rain before the weather gets too cold to even go outside...
The place is marvelous a great views ✨️ and the shows are amazing 👏 🙌 ✨️ …
SAT. JUNE 4TH -Swing band played some great live music. They had amazing energetic dancers. And then they played more tunes and everyone was out of their chairs dancing. The energy in the atmosphere was fun and happy. Then we walked over to get a peak at the silent disco and it was packed. People were dancing and bopping along. It was amazing definitely coming back a lot this summer.
Best art film theatre in NYC. General ticket 15/Student 12.
Wonderful place to come and see a show.
Almost started on time
Get used to slovenly millennials.
Jeans and tee shirts
No couth
No class
No shower
Parents did a poor job.
We just love the Met: all the performances we have attended were nice!
We enjoyed the show there, although the ticket we purchased was on the third floor, we could see the stage very well, the center was designed well, that all seats have great view.
I have so many memories visiting as a kid that there will always be something about this place that makes me feel at home. It is difficult to describe how I feel; the vibe, the people, the sounds, the city. This place is part of me and who I am today.
From Tatiana to the bar at the Phil to the gorgeous Koch, Lincoln Center is a luxuriant plaza of the arts.
Had a great time seeing the Nutcracker with my beautiful wife and some great friends who moved to Manhattan recently.
My company had an evening event here so I can't comment on the shows. I would absolutely come back for the views alone. It was lovely to have a glass of wine and watch the fountain and the crowds going to their performance. Staff was attentive and kind, and very professional. Great spot to stop by at night even if just to stroll through the Plaza. The food wasn't the best I've ever had but everything else made up for it and so it gets 5 stars.
The epicenter of arts in the US. Support the arts anyway you can!!
One of the great urban spaces in the world. A visit to New York is not complete without attending one of the any events held on this campus.
Top notch facilities, check out the super large LED screen in the lobbie!
What's not to like about Lincoln Center. There is something for just about everybody. Geffen Philharmonic Hall, the Met Opera to name my two favorites. There's chamber music lazz, classical, ballet, opera, theater and on and on it goes. Not to mention all the FREE events all summer long. Must see!
I just want to add a very personal note. I lived in an apartment on Amsterdam Ave before it was demolished to make way for Lincoln Center. At the time, I was 13 years old was very upset about the whole situation and swore i would never step foot in the place. I guess I matured!
The world famous Metropolitan Opera is located here along with famous dance halls. Personally I have only been to Operas and it's an incredible experience. If you are a fan of classical singing the Met Opera has some of the greatest singers in the world! The translation of the singing is actually on the seat in front of you and is "blacked" out to the person sitting next to you (they are unable to see it). Along with great performers are first class sets along with a terrific orchestra. Truly a musicians dream.
Went to Lincoln Center if you've never been you need to go. Beautiful & elegant but you can go casual and still have a great time. We went to Riverside Symphony featuring Hartke for Ship of State; Schreker for Chamber of Symphony; Weill for Little Threepenny Music was beautifully done. Never been to live orchestra show so this was free and fabulous. Compliments to David Kittay for getting BARD Clemente class to attend. It was amazing!
Opera…stepping into the past in a fantastic theatre with excellent acoustic and a good view (even from the back). Turandot by Giacomo Puccini with the Zeffirelli’s scenery is fabulous in its music and arias. If anyone has experienced it with Luciano Pavarotti, then there will be nothing but nostalgia. Nonetheless, this year production was decent and the Opera House is still one of the best in the US and the world.
It's always nice spend a little at Lincoln Center, great vibe, awesome concerts, operas and ballets.
Lincoln Center is incredibly beautiful. A friend of mine is a contributor and she gets free tickets to opera dress rehearsal, which are wonderful. We recently went to a lecture and cocktail reception. The lecture, in the auditorium, discussed the new season. The reception was on the Grand Tier. it was a lovely evening.
My daughter got tickets to see Romeo and Juliet . It was a beautiful show. Orchestra music was amazing .Ballet performance was was great! There was a silver balloons art display .Show started at 7pm to 9:40
Lincoln Center Out of doors is a wonderful free event running from July 24 - August 11. So many great performers.
Be prepared for very long lines and limited stage seating. You can hear from everywhere and sit on the planters.
There are several concession options.
House for some of the finest ballet and opera performances in NYC. Consists of three separate auditoriums. I have been to the Kotch auditorium, which houses the performances of the New York City Ballet. The auditorium has very good acoustics, the stage is very well visible from (almost) all sections of the auditorium. Snacks and drink (alcoholic and otherwise) are available for purchase. Conveniently located, near Times Square.
Went to see the New York City Ballet and the show was great as was the facility. I had a great view from my seats. Only negative was they allowed me to buy snacks just before entering to see the show but upon entering was told I could only have water in the theater. I wish the person at the consession stand would have told me before I made my purchase.
Lincoln Center should be experienced (at least once) by every person. Shows are great, they have an orchestra that plays starwars songs and the people dress up as characters and hang outside to welcome the crowds! Please make time to enjoy the outside and fountain on warmer nights as it is also an experience!
I love this place it has many options you can go to. You can enter the website and check the different options that interest you and attend.
This place is great for any non new Yorker looking to enjoy art and other performances.
One of my favourite place to spend evening -> after Central Park ⚜️🍀 …
This space next to art theater was a great idea for summer a space to dance wearing headphones everyone 🕺 having a clean good fun.they also had a bar 🍸 you can buy drinks also delicious ice cream.Fantestic gorgeous water display the floors are dark blue I believe they are done with this activity area is still hot hope they come back fun to see people injoy no Crack head's allow lol.
One for the Books,
No words can describe the opera.
Flawless performances and breathtaking sets.
Attended their restart Program in Damrosch Park...great seating, comfortably separated...all protocols followed...BUT, chairs were VERY uncomfortable to sit in for two hours without a chance to stretch.
I always enjoy it in this time what's no difference I enjoyed I will continue to go for the years to come and I highly suggest to bring you family and friends
Saw the Paul Taylor modern dance company here the other night, it was spectacular. Great show for anyone looking for some dance therapy!
So happy New York performance venues are open again. Especially this one. Lincoln Center has always been the benchmark for concerts, Opera, and ballet. Especially like the Metropolitan Opera. Lincoln Center has recently dropped the mask requirement.
The Greg Tate tribute by Burnt Sugar was amazing!
Went to the George Gee and his Make-Believe Ballroom Orchestra ballroom dancing event at the Lincoln Center.
It was a nice dance event, but it’s really way too warm at the moment to have things like this outside where there’s no a/c…
Gorgeous performance space! Got to see NYC Ballet here for $30 thanks to the 30 for 30 program. Also saw Alvin Ailey and Paul Taylor at Koch Theater. Have not been disappointed yet.
The students had a trip today @ Lincoln Center. I had a great time/experience learning about the home of where the world's best and most respected & renown performing artists showcase their talent.
Love this place. We go there once every few weeks to watch acclaimed international films. It has become a regular theater for us to visit. They have discounted tickets for students, which is a bonus.
One of my favorites places in NYC. Classical music and Dancing is here.
Beautiful place...The Nutcracker was amazing! My granddaughter loved the show.
Uniquely landscapes to inspire art. Don't forget to visit library for performing arts
Great building and square.
If you have the opportunity to see a show at the Met, any show, Go! It is an amazing experience. Truly breathtaking.
Saw the Paul Taylor dance company perform and was very impressed by both the dance and venue. Great location near the park .
It wouldn't be a far-fetched statement when I say that this very particular place between W 62nd and 65th street is North America's most important pivot for performing arts and lovers of them. People would come here, see and hear beautiful things, and leave the place with an ignited urge to make their own world more beautiful.
Just the Summer for the City program is worth the visit, the building the plazas and of course the other venues within it hold world class performances of.the different arts.
Beautiful building to see World class ballet. I am not a ballet fan but I really enjoyed my visit here.
This performance art complex got everything it's offer opara , musical , ballet, in summer also offer many free program like Lincoln center out of door s
Leg room is lacking and the stage is pretty small. But overall the view was great and the show itself was amszing
Watched 'My fair lady' at the Vivian Beaumont theater. Great theater for an evergreen musical. Very friendly staff and perfect ambience. Beautiful surroundings and the julliard school nearby finishes the classy touch to the place. Feels like another world in Newyork city.
First attended a symphonic orchestra performance in David Geffen Hall and it was a great experience!
I like this place cuz those design of construction are elegant! I bet it must be really pretty at night when the lights on. Here is not as crowd as other sightseeing spots.
I love Lincoln Center and what it has to offer. My experience shows that if you go there to enjoy shows, you’ll be surrounded by interesting people who appreciate the art. The building inside is very beautiful, of course.
So many things going on here outside of the ballet and opera. Free music and movies, beautiful grounds to explore and a dedicated library of performing arts.
Excellent hall. The performances held there are always awesome.
Such a pretty place! I LOVED IT! FANCY AND FREE!
I love Lincoln center. We went to Nutcracker at David Koch Theater. It was amazing performance.
Saw"Flying Over Sunset." Thoroughly enjoyed it. Excellent staging, great lighting and sound. The 50's inspired costumes divine. The ensemble acting was coherent and cohesive. The tap dancing scene was one of the best parts in the production. The actress that played Luce & her Italian maid have phenomenal 🔥🔥🔥 voices. Sad to hear about this production early closing. This play is worthy of a Broadway debut.
Great seats. Even at the very top. Nice center to see shows.
True Jewel, world class facility and lovely in the evening. White Lights Festival is the best.
Always have a good time at Lincoln Center. Music was great.
Check out the performance calendar! Always something going on at Lincoln Center! For those who are elderly or need adapted seating arrive earlier as you might be seated in the very front of the orchestra or in a location that require elevator waiting time to get to. Expect there to be others who will need to take their time as well :)
My wife wife I had a lovely time experiencing the Magic Flute at the Met Opera House. An absolutely beautiful production!! The vaccination requirement is a huge part of why we felt OK attending an event in NYC during the pandemic, and it is comforting to know that there are two impactful layers of protection in place at the Met. I'll enjoy a show with a mask on for as long as need be. This was a truly great Saturday date!
The ballet, opera, music events, they have everything and if you go to the box offices you can usually find some cheap seats for an upcoming event. Quintessential New York.
Excellent shows! Have the City Nights entertainment. Last night Thursday was Disco night.
Nutcracker Ballet was amazing and inspiring. Such fun. Kids were excellent and the adult performers were flawless. Awesome seats too.
I have been a regular to the Metopera and was very excited to be back. As always, world-class performance (Don Carlos this evening) great ambiance, same delicious lox sandwiches and brownies, one notable mention is the theater where you can go to listen to the first act if you are late as you will not be let in. It has decent sound.
Amazing place for musicX drinks and food, all in one block, every time a visit NYC is a must to see a show.. prices always are very accessible
Went to see a play with my cousin and had an awesome time!
I went to see The Skin of Our Teeth at the Vivian Beaumont Theater. Parking is available with various entrances. When I went I did have to show proof of vaccination and masks were required. Beautiful venue, great place to take pictures all around!
A cultural hub and NYC must see, if you like Opera, Orchestra, Ballet, Broadway, History or just really nice fountains, The Lincoln Center Plaza is the worth the visit.
Performance was wonderful. Orchestra seating comfortable.
Transformed by my time there. Two great operas and the most impactful ballet I've ever experienced. Thank you to these artists and all those who make their art possible. I am moved.
A peaceful plaza uwu
Gorgeous theater and amazing performance. A lovely night out!
Have been seeing performances here from a young age, it's an iconic plaza and space.
Great production. Great acoustics. Seats quite old fashioned so kind of uncomfortable for a long Verdi Opera. No food nor drinks in the lower section (annoying considering it’s the most expensive seating area).
I was walking by Lincoln Center on my way to the bus and saw a red carpet so decide to stop and take in the sights . I didn't take great pictures but, I saw Brooke Shields , Ryan Sescrest, and some beautiful gowns.
I have been to the Lincoln center. I was 31 years old (I am 43) and I really don’t remember anything but I rememevr a lot of great live music and ballet dancing all over the stage. But Barbara D have been only last month for the heart of alps the best show of Switzerland! (I didn’t understand her) but Barbara D really enjoyed the show as well. The fountain in Lincoln center never turns off even in the winter when it’s super freezing. How does it work? We’ll never know.....
If you like ballet and grey buildings and consistent water fountain shows it’s a great place for you to live.
Fantastic experience, if you decide to get the tickets, it’s worth investing more to get a better view.
Fun free activities every evening all summer king
Still the culture center of NYC The prison house of music. New music is not getting any commissions and it's concerning for the future of the arts. Mostly a preservation of the establishment. New music for now audiences is the only hope for the future. I love Lincoln Center. And I don't want it to go away anytime soon. Living composers can save the legacy of only for the programming will keep up with the generations.
Superb performance. I only wish everyone had to wear their mask.
Free event on June 28 2018. Translucent Borders, an NYU/Tisch initiative, has spent the last three years bringing renowned artists from around the world together to develop ways that dialogue can fuel creative work while retaining cultural identity and integrity. This evening's concert brings together leading Cuban, Ghanaian, Palestinian, Israeli, Italian, and American artists to premiere a new collaborative work and celebrate the power of music to transcend borders. Awesome performance.
Awesome place, sharing with your friends!! Here's 3 photos 2 are murals that are only shown in the evening hours!!!
One of my favorite places in the city. Always iconic, always stunning.
I have seen several ballet shows here and none of them disappointed. The orchestra, the ballet the majestic vibe of the place are simply great. It makes a big difference sitting by the orchestra vs higher up (3rd or 4th ring). Do not recommend 4th ring as the views may be obstructed. Or if you're scared of heights.
We had an amazing time at Lincoln Center somehow our son Zander got us backstage with his new friend that knew who the percussionist was. So we got a private little tour and they got to play on the instruments in the pit.
Exceptional music, beautiful place
Went here for the big apple circus. The whole family enjoyed it
Beautiful place and enough place for everyone. If anyone want to visit there is a good places.
Beautiful Library, Gorgeous Decor Multiple Levels. Great!
Nice place. There are cultural performances in the theater and the square in summer.
Saw Mike Birbiglia here in December. Nice and comfortable theater
We love all of the venues at Lincoln Center. This visit, we were seeing My Fair Lady in the Vivian Beaumont Theatre. Great show!
Amazing place! Great staff! Awesome performance!
Go to see the New York City Ballet at least once. Took in The Nutcracker, a work that has been done thousands of times.
It’s a fine line between sugarplums and prunes: Anything but cliché, NYCB’s performance was fresh and sumptuous in its dreamscape landscapes. Release your grip on ordinary time, allow the buoyant music to bear you up, fly with the dancers, and keep your spirits up even as you fall at snowflake speed back to your seat.
Find my words are too flowery? Ok. At least give those flower-athletes a shot. They make the very difficult appear very easy.
A must visit when you come to NY. This large complex features classical music, jazz, ballet and Opera. The seating is very comfortable and the performances are always changing.
Always a delightful event whenever I am attending something at Lincoln Center.
What a luxury place! It is really awesome to visit!
They have gorgeous things to see and it was a wonderful place to see pretty things in NYC.
Each building has different performing arts. Opera, ballet and orchestra.
Very nice evening of entertainment the show was fantastic
The whole complex (the Met, the NYC ballet, and Geffen Hall) is beautiful. It's right next to the train which is rather convenient.
A Tribute to Paradise Garage. We got two hours in before the rain 🌧️ commenced again. The Paradise Garage Reunion DJ was there, but did not play so I wasn't feeling the dude that played. He was too hit or miss. Ehhh, that was disappointing. Hopefully he won't be playing for the Garage Reunion. …
Wonderful staff, performance, art exhibit and dj special event. Always a pleasure to visit LC!
Lovely facility. Unfortunate name for the theater (Koch). Many people working and/or volunteering, so you never have to look far for an answer. Onsite parking is a big plus.
Always a great place to visit. Regardless of whether you are going for a specific event (Concert, Ballet, Opera, Movie, ...) or just passing by, Lincoln Center always brightens up the mood. Highly recommend taking out of town friends here when you are showing them the city.
Always a great experience when we go to Lincoln theater. It’s not just a theater. It’s a combination of NYC the ambience of the people in the in the center. It’s just an overall very well experience
Beautiful buildings, friendly staff...always a treat to visit Lincoln Centre and enjoy music.
Beautiful as it is historic - a must see if you're in NY !!
It was a gorgeous performance and a beautiful way for the met to open up again. Every seat was full and people seemed so happy to be enjoying the music. All singers and musicians were amazing. We had a wonderful evening
Love the shows here. Grand theatrical experiences that really transport you. You also feel very classy and special during a night at the Lincoln Center.
They always have something nice going on here, whether it's a public art installation or just their usual fountain. Great space to visit as well as to actually see a show.
Great vibe, the open space is a nice relief from the tall buildings of the city
My fav place in nyc! I missed going to the Opera and the ballet. Nice venue, great performance and we got amazing tkts on the Metropolitan opera website.
Would recommend anyone visiting ny to go and see any performance they may have on the calendar.
So beautiful, dancing jazz
Wonderful experience ... Attending Mostly Mozart is a treat and a New York City experiences.
This place has come a long way it looks so different down here it's been awhile since I've been here but I came here with my daughter to go to the circus and we had a good time. Plus it wasn't so crowded because we came down so early in the morning so we were able to enjoy the atmosphere without so many people trampling over each other.
Always enjoy seeing operas at the Met! Stunning, world class venue.
Beautiful decorated for out door get together
Lincoln Center hosts outdoor concerts on video with headsets that provide excellent sound quality without disturbing passersby. Highly recommended!
Visiting The Met is always the highlight of my trips to New York. Never seen a bad production.
I went to see the Metropolitan Opera which is within the center. I have been to the Big Apple Circus previously, which is located in the large circus tent located on the left side of the center building. I love the area and the entertainment. Never disappointed when I visited.
Very good performance by the philharmonics. Very short performances though. Not what you are used to when you are from Europe and the quality is not comparable. All in all would recommend if you are in New York for a longer period.
Set up for some outdoor summer fun!
This Summer I went many times to picnic at the plaza around the water. All green to lay down.
Rooms are generic and doesn't wauv in any way or form. Music programs are often quite conservative and safe. Chairs are very uncomfortable and it's almost impossible to get that $14 drink in time. It very much seems like an ancient pyramid scheme.
Not satisfied enough with ballet performance(I might expect too much..) but still good to visit Lincoln center!
Probably the only theater in NYC with decent knee room which is a plus on top of its many other features. Always courteous staff, great acoustics and easy to get to. A first rate venue in a great city.
I was so lucky to have been at the opening of this center in 1962,just came in from India to study. Nirmala Cherukupalle
As for being able to go see hamlet the opera in Lincoln Center it is a wonderful place to be and its a nice place to go see any shows there you really feel that you are part of the show and that you forget where you are in the moment which is a nice way to be able to disconnect from the world they also are good if you have hard of hearing from where you are sitting they have subtitles on the back of the seats in front of you so you click the button that is on the righthand side and if you press it then it will give you the subtitles so you don’t get lost and can still have a good time the staff there was also very sweet and helpful would definitely go there again to see another show also if your looking to fit a lot of people like a school or class it has the space so no one really feels cramped which is nice as well
My family's favorite spot to hang out in the summer evening. It is always calming to watch the water fountain. In the past summer, they place a lawn and it was great. Looking forward to see what they offer in the coming summer.
Oh, how I wish we had more time in NYC. We were able to stop by the Lincoln center and marvel in its beauty, but that is unfortunately as far as our visit went. It was awe inspiring to be there, so I can only imagine how it must be to attend a performance inside.
A great place to relax and watch the people
Stunning to look at and to spend time in. Excellent acoustics, magnificent sets, talented artists on stage and in the pit. Dynamic schedule of performances. Tickets are not inexpensive, but well worth it!
Public venue for performing arts has many free shows in the center
Excellent can't wait when the performances start in September 2021👏👏👏 …
I had a fantastic time at the Bernstein and Gershwin concert by the NY Phil. Unfortunately, I had no idea how scary sitting in the balcony of David Geffen Hall would be. I thought I was going to fall over the edge at any moment!
The stairs with lights, a water fountain and artists all around. It is the place to be with your family.
How do you review one of the paragons of the arts in America?! Went to the Nutcracker and it was incredible. Become a member, it is WORTH it. Front row at face value.
The Opera House was far more welcoming than it seems. Our dinner at the Lincoln Ristorante was fantastic. Lots of small plates and large plates to choose from. Porgy and Bess was outstanding, even though I've seen it performed many times. This was a great excuse to wear a tuxedo.
One of the landmarks in the city, it offers cultural attractions and a nice water work from the fountain in the midst of the square.
A solid place to go for high-quality, albeit expensive, entertainment unlike anywhere else in the city.
This is the center of the world's cultural universe, and a great place to watch New York stroll by.
The place itself is okay. The performance was great. The accustic is amazing.
Beautiful venue with many interesting performances. I loved Big Apple Circus!
Took the tour. Interesting information about origin of Center and mission. 8000 people would come to the Center for performances that night.
Was lucky enough to see a classical performance years ago. Such a beautiful building.
My wife and some friends came to see La Boheme Opera we had a great time it was amazing.
Home to the inimitable NY Phil. Every piece I have seen there has been world class! Pro tip, order your intermission drinks at the start of the show and they’ll put them out for you—no more waiting in line for your bubbly!
Such a pretty building. Went to Aida and sat in the family circle, while we didn’t have full view of the stage unless we leaned out over the ledge, the views were good.
Gorgeous theater. Comfortable seats. Good air-conditioning. Well organized staff made the entry lines move swiftly.
I attended the showing of "Norma" on the plaza. The sound was great. We had great seats. (It was FREE!). The singing was magnificent! It was perfect! ❤👍 …
Fantastic night the best place of arts in the world 🌍 …
Love it. Especially the Met Opera, but the whole complex is great. Geffen Hall - the NY Philharmonic Hall - is shut down for renovations until sometime in 2022 (hopefully not later!). But after the pandemic closure, both the Opera and the Ballet are back in business! Yea! Nothing like seeing these great performances live. I went twice in Nov 2021.
Gorgeous architecture combined with a very helpful, friendly staff made for an amazing experience, would definitely come again!
Make sure to take in the artwork when you visit. They have John Singer Sargeant and a glorious water fountain on the grounds.

Nice place being a tourist or a local, for go to any show or just seat around, read or even work
The picture is from my driving past recently in the area. I used to go here religiously to snag rush tickets. Worth it at full price too, Orchestra seats about $90, but a steal at $25 for like seating
Always classy and gorgeous. An NYC must-see.
Came here after 5 years ago. Both occasions to see the Shen Yu performance. Different performances each time, yet breathtaking beautiful. I completely foregone my phone camera to fully enjoy the show and respect the performers.
New York Philharmonic is absolutely wonderful when seen here. If you have never been, be prepared, this is a complex of buildings not one single theater.

Great photo ops here day or night.
Friendly staff and for seeing shows bring a pic of your ID and a vaccine card.
Saw the philharmonic. Was amazing. Suggest sitting in orchestra as it's really about the music and listening and not the visual.
Other than still having to wear the ridiculous mask it’s one of the most important cultural institutions in the North America.
