Reviews of David Geffen Hall
Attended Harry Connick Jr. Concert right after Thanksgiving and the theater has just complete ld a major renovation. The lobby is massive with comfortable seating if you have to wait for a show. Entry is easy. Seating is comfortable. The acoustics are amazing. Beautiful theater and an outstanding job on the renovation
The concert hall was nice in every way. But it being new means that the ushers are new as well? They didnt do their job well. Especially the usher on the 1st tier righthand side. Also while the orchestra is playing, i could look down and see audience keep walking around in the orchestra section, and some are using cellphones with possibly the brightest light . The ushers inside the hall definitely need more training. And I really do not understand the idea of gender neutral restroom in the lobby.
Amazing opening weekend! The location is great! Enjoyed going through the hall and all the options there are for viewings. Will totally recommend you join the listserv.
I attended “Emanuel Ax, Beethoven, and The Year 1917” on Dec, 2nd and I was really amazed by the renovation made to the hall. Acoustics absolutely perfect: you can hear a single element playing even if you’re sitting far away from the stage.
I suggest to attend at least once even if you’re not fond of classical music because you’ll feel surrounded by every note.
A great experience in a great theater. The seats weren’t “too small” like many on Broadway. The performance was amazing. Everything one might ask for.
The refurbished concert hall has improved acoustics. For those of us who sit in the 3rd tier, the new 3rd tier is a huge disappointment. In fact, I will never buy tickets for this seaing again. The cages on the ceiling are too much in the view of the audience. The seats have a wood addition on the back that people sitting behind you constantly hit with their feet. Outside the concert hall, the restrooms have been reduced to 1 toilet in 2 separate rooms (long lines), no place to sit and chat with friends, dark wood which makes you feel closed in, windows to the wonderful plaza closed off so that no view of the outside is possible. The concert experience includes the whole experience. Going to the 3rd tier is unfriendly and depressing.
The grand reopening was jam packed with aficionados of jazz. The venue theater was sparkling clean and the sound was amazing...and we were far up in the 3rd tier. I can't imagine any "bad" seats here. Looking forward to many more concerts and special events!
The reopening of this hall has been underway for quite some time, and the improvements they've made are extraordinary.
Lincoln Center has put emphasis on being inclusive to everyone and anyone, with features such as all-gender bathrooms, increased wheelchair accessibility, as well as increased compatibility with hearing aids for people with hearing disabilities.
Apart from that, the performances are always amazing, and the sound is immaculate!
The acoustics are incredible, but do not sit in the upper tier on the sides toward the stage. These seats do not turn. Instead, they face straight ahead. This makes no logical sense, especially when the seats on the side on lower tiers are facing the stage. It seems as though these seats on the side on the upper tier were intentionally designed to give you an uncomfortable view of the stage. They are definitely only intended for single patrons.
This is an amazing auditorium. Great acoustics and really great seats. There are bars right outside if you want a drink during a show.
The renovated hall is a revelation! You have to hear it to believe it!
I loved sitting on the side, above the orchestra. A wonderful way to experience a concert even if there was so little leg room I couldn't cross my legs.
They did a wonderful job in renovating the seats. Last time I was in there was nearly 20 years. No bad views. Always world class performances.
Music was great! But you can't easily get to the subway. And it was pouring rain so we got soaked. There is no indoor way and the escalator we were told to use was out of order. Not a great way to end the evening.
Seats at the front of the first tier are still tight and require some neck twisting. Patron lounge is way too small for the number of folks using it. Acoustics are much improved with only a few noticeable holes.
The David Geffen Hall was constructed to hear the acoustic sounds from the symphony in an extraordinary way. Lincoln Center is a great place to visit and the Hall is a class act whatever may be headlined.
I went to see the NY Philharmonic and superb pianist Yuga Wang. Beautiful hall, perfect acoustic!
Wonderful place to see the NY Philharmonic. Seats are comfortable, every seat has a good view. Security is slow and creates long lines. We were allowed up 30 minutes before the show. Should have been letting people up earlier. Bathrooms are small and and there can be long lines for bathrooms and drinks at intermission. The best part about upstairs is stepping out in the outdoor balcony looking out over Lincoln Center. It’s a great spot for a picture. Try dinner downstairs and parking underneath. It’s convenient.
Excellent overall experience, saw the New Philharmonic preform Strauss Alpine sinfonie. It was absolutely mind blowing, it was my first Symphony and I will be coming back again.
Great acoustics in this stage. We came here for the lunar new year performance with lu yiwen and were absolutely amazed.
David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center is a phenomenal place to see a show. The view of the stage is great throughout, the acoustics are impeccable, and the quality of performances here (e.g. the New York Philharmonic) are world-renowned.
By George they've got it! Finally. I now go to Carnegie & wish I was seeing it at Geffen. The programs are so exhileratingly crafted. Run don't walk
Love this place all that time!!! My husband and I went here last night for enjoying NY Philharmonic orchestra. Last night they played Beethoven and Mozart. It was F A N T A S T I C !!! We really enjoyed that wellknowned classic music. Especially, it was the first snowy day of 2017 in nyc. For perfect dating place and music!
Extraordinary acoustics for the Gala concert, NY Phil in full glory with 97 musicians along with Juilliard Chorus! A joy to behold; NYC has a world class concert hall!
Hello: I am thrilled with the new hall and experienced a concert there on Sunday, October 23 in which the renowned and wonderful NY Philharmonic played. I am writing because on Monday eve I attended Tosca at the Met and because it was raining and I was early I sat in the lounge at the Geffen Theater. I was appalled by the "elevator" music that was playing. It was straight out of Walgreens. Wouldn't you think that the home of probably the best orchestra in this country would have classical music playing preferably by the NY Philharmonic. ? I was sitting with some other people who were also very disappointed and surprised. Why? Who chooses the background music for this lounge? Why "elevator" music sung by pop stars? Please - this lounge should be a respite from the ubiquitous pop music many of us are subjected to so much of the time. At least, the DAvid Geffen lounge should provide us with classical music and why not recordings of the NY Philharmonic or others? A very disappointed music lover of classical music: JOyce Zaritsky
It's part of Lincoln Center. Some issue with the elevator at the time, so I'm going to say generally accessible for some, but I am am not assured by the way the situation was explained to me. Acoustics are still booming and the seating is cinema type velour. It's a hall, not going to argue Lincoln Center is legendary. Used to be called Avery Fisher Hall. What the name change for a pop culture icon does for the future is tough to say at this point.
Good acoustics. Comfortable seats. Excellent screen allows everyone to e up close.
Pretty solid place to see the NY philharmonic performance. Reasonable pre show drinks also. Subway station is conveniently located under the hall so was especially nice during the evening downpour after the concert.
So gorgeous and the sound is state of the art. Great selection of shows. Can't go wrong
Mostly Mozart is a summer tradition in NYC. A beautiful and acoustically perfect place to enjoy fine classical music.
Newly redone concert venue, home of the NY Philharmonic.
Lovely room, great sound.
One of the top music halls in town. Saw the London Symphony Orchestra perform Mahler’s Symphony No. 9. Inside not as fancy as The Met Opera, but great nevertheless. Tip: bathrooms on first tier floor have shorter lines ;)
Watched the philharmonic play the Jurassic Park soundtrack alongside the movie. It was like watching the movie for the first time all over again!
I just attended one of the best concerts of my life!!!
Very nice music hall! Good room acoustic. But I personally think it can have better sound system for people sitting far a way.
Great venue for symphony concerts. Good balance in the hall, and even seats on the side like ours afford good sight lines. As a first-time attendee, it was a bit confusing finding my way to my seat, but staff was quick to help.
Beautifully renovated space. Saw a wonderful performance. Looking forward to going back.
Great hall for a great day. Congratulations Michelle. Great job Touro College and staff on site choice and smooth execution.
Excellent sound and the NY Philharmonic is just excellent. There is no other word. Beautiful performance drawn forth by the conductor, the orchestra was responsive and incredibly accurate, synchronized, just about perfect.
Amazing classical concert...the venue is amazing as well
Outstanding performance and nice concert hall.
A marvelous concert hall now, best acoustics i ever experienced
Great venue. Seating in the boxes and be a little iffy if you want to see the stage and acoustics take a little bit if a hit.
Personally, I prefer sitting in one of the center tier sections... if you can get the front row it's fantastic.
If you're 35 or under, don't miss the program they offer to get $35 tickets (available in most sections) when you buy 3 tickets. The tickets don't all need to be for the same show.
First visit to Lincoln Center. Very ritzy and pricey outing, but glad I went. Love the fountains outside after the show on a moonlit night.
Fun night watching Psycho, the conductor's intro was super fun and set the crowd's mood for the evening. Excellent performance, maybe Trouble with Harry next autumn ;-)
Great place to see a live orchestral performance
A fantastic symphony space with amazing acoustics. A staple of New York city culture. Beautiful place.
The 2022 renovation is sleek and stunning, and the excellence of the NYPhil can’t be denied.
Had a Good time watching my brother perform and make history at the same time.
It was an awesome experience to hear the Philharmonic Orchestra live. They sounded so amazing.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 …
Beautifully redone. The temple of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
My friend and I visited this Hall to eat at the excellent restaurant there called "The Kitchen", before we went to the Metropolitan Opera. The restaurant is excellent - we invariably order the salmon, which is always perfectly cooked and delicious, and the desserts are wonderful too.
David Geffen Hall is also the main location for performances by The New York Philharmonic, and the Mostly Mozart festival, as well as the White Light Festival, and it is a wonderful concert Hall in which to attend concerts. It is spacious, well laid out, and comfortable. The acoustical elements were recently upgraded, and I find them quite impressive.
Thus, this Hall receives five stars both for the restaurant and for the concerts!!!
Elegant, classy, and lavish. The acoustics are fantastic. The music sounds so layered, rich, and evocative. One doesn't need to be tight at the front to hear the music well. The venue itself is almost reason enough to come here. It's so grandiose and wondrous- fitting for a place that so radiantly appreciates music as the high art that it is.
Great place to see a show. Only too few bathrooms. Try the balcony over LC during intermission awesome view.
My question was how does one dress for a movie/orchestra event... I wore a suit but business casual would have been fine.
fantastic sound snd cosy chairs. The concert hall is great for classical music
Beautiful. Concert was world class.
A great music hall which is hard to judge separately from the fantastic NY Philharmonic that calls it home. The staff are courteous. The lobby is nice. The hall itself is in need of a remodel, which thankfully is planned to happen in the next several years. The layout of the seating is essentially an enormous orchestra level that stretches quite far away from the stage in a long rectangle. There are three small, two-row balconies lining the sides and a small section at each tier in the far back. The acoustics are fine, but the layout makes balancing being able to resolve anything on stage with being able to see everything at the same time. The upper levels are only accessible by stairs or one crowded elevator. The bathrooms are large and numerous.
It's a beautiful hall home to an amazing orchestra, but don't sit in the back of the orchestra because the hall is very dead. Try sitting in a box, the high brass, piano, and woodwinds cut through really well. The sound is a lot clearer from the box, even though it's further back than middle/back orchestra. Highly recommend going, just don't have high hopes for the acoustics of this place, focus on the musicians instead and you won't be disappointed.
Really fantastic space with great acoustics
Such a beautiful hall! Sound is gorgeous!
Spectacular Handel Messiah, next time seating downstairs cause the upstairs too uncomfortable
Great venue to hear and see the amazing New York Philharmonic. The acoustics in the orchestra 2 section are good. The seats however are not staggered, so a if a tall person sits in front of you, the view is obstructed.
Very nice hall
One of the best orchestra in the World
One of the most impresive music halls of the world. Home of the New York Philarmonic Orchestra.
We had an excellent time at the Mozart festival.
Very organized and clean. Nice staff and helpful.
Went to the rehearsal of the Mozart Festival. The orchestra was phenomenal and the soprano was wonderfully divine. The arias were crisp and heavenly smooth. They served refreshments before the performances and the restrooms were clean and accessible. Very comfortable seating. The check in process was effortless.
It was a pleasant experience. Our first time seeing the New York Philharmonic so there were high expectations given their reputation. Even more so given the nature of their performance that night - Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. As long time, die-hard fans since childhood, the opportunity to see the movie with live music was ... well, magical. I hope they decide to do the rest of the films in the same fashion.
David Geffen Hall is a part of Lincoln Center. Subway 1 is very convenient as it connects internally to the building, which is very helpful during winter.
Beautiful concert hall and always a pleasure to see and hear classical performances at the legendary Lincoln Center. You feel a part of history when going to a concert at this beautiful performing arts center. I last saw a concert here of Handel's Messiah and it was lovely. It was also nice to see a wide range of various types of people in attendance.
A classic New York experience. The hall is iconic, the New York Philharmonic is one of the best in the world. Students tickets are available at a very reasonable price. It's a great way to spend an evening and fyi for those who worry about these things, casual dress is appropriate. Just enjoy the music.
Young people's concert was pretty amazing. They were able to turn one song into an hour long, interesting, fascinating and captivating experience. We learned about the different layers of music, different musical expressions and left enchanted!
Nice venue and seating arrangements.
The performance we saw was excellent. However the box seating leaves something to be desired, as the safety rail cuts through your filed of view. It's not bad, but is noticeable.
The concert was wonderful (Budapest Festival Orchestra Mahler program), but the hall itself needs refurbishing. Sight lines are terrible. I was in the Orchestra Row O. I could not see the solo featured vocalist because the seats are not staggered and there is no " rake" to the floor.
Love the venue. Walk outside the theatre and take plenty of pics by the water fountain.
Had a great night at David Geffen Hall. Look forward to coming back another day.
Excellent hall, where I had the privilege of seeing Gustavo Dudamel conduct the NY Philharmonic. The sound was super and the seat, although in the third tier, allowed a decent view. After all, it was about the music.
Great venue to watch the New York philharmonic!
Experienced the Philharmonic's performance of The Messiah as a Christmas present to some of my family. What a thrill! A peak experience. Thank you for a perfectly executed symphony. Could not have been better. A memorable evening that will not be forgotten.
New York Philharmonic Music at it's finest.
Every seat will equally hear the sounds of wonderful music from a live Orchestra. The maestro will preform with his wand and each section will go on his command. I am not a fan of classical music and the shows are just so amazing I keep going back for more.
Prices vary and you can get into a rehearsal, if you can't afford a main show.
If you haven't been here yet, it's time to Up close and personal.
One of the best music theaters you will find in the world. Awesome vibes, awesome people. You can find NYphil here, not much more to describe.
I've seen so many concerts, orchestras, but NYphils performance today is going to be in my heart for a long time
I'm not sure if I'm rating the hall itself, or the performance(s) I saw in it. Either way, The hall is very goregous on the outside, even if a little plain on the inside. The New York Philharmonic of course is fantastic all the time, and if you ever have a chance to go, you should absolutely take it.
This venue for performances by the New York Philharmonic Orchestra is spacious, bright, and tidy overall. The performance itself was superb and totally worth our time and money. It was the first time I had seen a jazz-themed performance by any Philharmonic Orchestra. The only issue I had was the attitude shown by the rude middle-aged lady at the ticketing counter. When I said I wanted to retrieve my pre-booked tickets, she raised her voice (and fake eyebrows) and said, 'You mean pickup?' She threw the tickets at me when she finally found them.
This is a very nice concert hall with and elegant restaurant on the first floor that appears to serve dinner before the concert. The long flights of stairs to get to the third and fourth floor seating areas was annoying. Seats were comfortable and marginally small.
Magnificent sound. Magnificent site.
There are not enough bathrooms to go around for intermission and the prices for food and beverages are insane.
Parking there requires a second mortgage.
Fountain in main plaza is beautiful...especially at night.
I was running a bit late (but still on time) for an evening performance of the NY Philharmonic. A kind usher let me sit in the back row of the orchestra section in lieu of making me climb the steps to my cheap seats so that I wouldn't miss out on the show. Wonderful staff.
Great big space for pop up magazine! The staff are kind, welcoming and helpful. Be prepared to go through a metal detector and wait on long lines for drinks. Event was a success and the space is nice and large for socializing and meeting new people.
New York Philharmonic Orchestra performed the great sound track of Home Alone. We stopped for dinner at the Kitchen, right in Geffen Hall. I had the the short ribs which was incredibly tender and juicy. Because I could not spot a real, real kitchen, I can only assume (I could be wrong - but no matter) my meal was microwaved. But it was so good, it could have come out of a French Horn, and I still would have enjoyed it. I'd get it again. Happy holidays and Enjoy the show!
A classic music hall. Handsome wood, warm decor, comfortable seats. A nice layout makes for easy viewing. Bathrooms are small, dated, and crowded during intermission. Definitely enjoy the tremendous New York Philharmonic if you can.
We enjoyed a great new experience -- watching the movie THE RED VIOLIN, on a huge screen, with a string orchestra playing the soundtrack live below the screen on the stage. The incredible Joshua Bell performanced the solos. What a wonderful experience!
Home of the NY Philharmonic. Joop rules. Saw Fire in My Mouth. VERY powerful.
This place was an experience. I got box seats, which were outstanding. (I couldn't see the tuba players, though, which made me very sad). The sound carried to my seat very well, and the whole show was an experience I won't soon forget.
We saw a circus next to the hall. Big Apple Circus came back for show after bankruptcy. This show has been our annual go to spot with kids. Grandma 🤡 clown this year was unique. The trapeze show was jaw dropping. Kids loved the animals. Horses, ponies and dogs were a fun to watch. There was food outside. Come early for closer seats. Some fortunate audiences even got to participate with the clown.
I really enjoyed the performance here. Nice place to visit at Lincoln Center.
I love the NY Philharmonic and especially love their Young People's Concert series. The shows are fun, informative and the right length for kids. I always look forward to our conversation and me dates here. We get dressed up, go out for lunch and get a little taste of what makes living in New York City so special.
Always incredible seeing the New York Philharmonic. Truly a NYC gem and a treat. Do try and get here early if you're considering eating onsite (or even in the neighborhood). It's incredible, but everywhere just seems to be packed by about 6pm. Frankly it's a good thing if you think about it. Oh, and if you live in town consider a subscription; it's a great value (you get a break) and you'll snag better seats.
Great location. Parking was in the building and very reasonable for NYC. The seats were very comfortable with seemingly more space then I have seen in other NYC theaters.
We attended the January 26 concert by the New York Philharmonic. The music was quite well performed, and I loved Julia Wolf's "Fire in my Mouth" as well as the Copeland clarinet concerto featuring the brilliant Anthony McGill. It was a fantastic night of music.
If you have any neck problems or back problems, make sure you're not sitting on the sides. Those seats just point directly back to the other side. The bathrooms were clean but are showing their age. None of this is enough to keep me from going again.
The concert hall is fully forgettable from both architectural and acoustics perspectives. Nevertheless, it hosts many top quality musical events, great artists and artistic ensembles.
Great place to see ballet...
Beautiful performance hall. Arrive early for shows. The lobby can be a confusing mash of over a hundred people making. The staff makes sure things run smoothly but still.
Unique museum with unique contents. The house (which is an exhibit unto itself) is filled with self playing instruments. I'm not just taking about player pianos, I'm talking violins, organs, taxidermy birds, and all manner of instruments. Definitely worth a trip if you're in the area.
Beautiful! Great concert hall and even has a cafe in the fron part of the hall. The ushers are really nice and get you to your seat quickly. Fantastic performance venue!
The hall badly needs the intended remodel. Compare to Alice Tully next door (a gem) and it's really aging, uncomfortable and mediocre. The NY Phil and other performers deserve so much more. Nice recent reconfiguration of the stage, with onstage seating on three sides. Is that permanent pending the renovation?
Sound is good, all views excellent. This time sat behind orchestra. Interesting and close, but prefer to be looking at orchestra to pick out each instrument's sound
It's a pretty nice hall and architecturally interesting from the exterior, however their process for dealing with a large crowd of people trying to enter the theater leaves a lot to be desired. They appeared to be understaffed and the process was extremely chaotic.
Five stars for many of the I credible musicians that grave this hall, one star for the acoustics! Notoriously bad acoustics following the first remodel continue to plague Fisher/Geffen Hall, unless you are smack dab in the center of the orchestra. Looking forward to the latest, forthcoming remodel project.
Tip: Lincoln Center offers discounts to a number of constituents, making great performances accessible to wide audiences.
Went here for a Beethoven sympony in May! Didn’t even know who David Geffen was, until my family and I were searching up movies later on and realized the building was named after him. And it is a nice building indeed.
In april 29/18, I have the privilege to enjoy Gustavo Dudamel and LA Philarmonic's concert. They play Beethoven's 9th Simphony and the NYC choral sung outstandin. It was marvelous! Good acustic, lights and ambience. The Hall looks quite old and a redecoration is necesary.
A magical venue with performers to match. The music is a pleasure as well as the area - Lincoln Square is one of the most beautiful places in the city. Will come back soon!
A beautiful hall where there are many events, mostly music. My son even had his graduation here. I have heard the symphony rehearse here. There is a restaurant. Lots of variety.
The NY Philharmonic with it's world class musicians has a terrific performing space in David Geffen Hall (or Avery Fisher Hall for you throwback types). The seats could use some updating as they are getting a bit worn, but that's also a testament to the numbers of people who come to performances.
Ah, the opera. The delicious food. The ambiance. Simply, divine. Buy your tickets early. Affordable chat and baggage check on the premises. Take a photo by the fountain. See Porgy & Bess. Posh attire. Dress up. Have fun.
Excellent acoustics and a fabulous time
The views from the top tier side seating is quite uncomfortable to the neck. The chairs face forward, but the performance is either on your right or left depending on what side you are. Hence, you have to turn your neck to see the performance. This is quite uncomfortable after a while given that these performances can last for hours. Overall, a great place.
As a personal opinion as someone who's been on multiple tiers and on the orchestra floor, you know the seats that say "view obstructed" on the tiers? They're fine. There is no obstruction to your view.
Went to the matinee performance of the New York City Ballet on Sunday and it was absolutely spectacular. This venue is a must-see for any NYC local or visitor alike!
I had a pleasant evening listening to The Alpine Symphony by Strauss and a contemporary composition. Both pieces were well conducted and the horn section was especially amazing.
Excellent overall experience, saw the New Philharmonic preform Strauss Alpine sinfonie.
I love this venue. I find the acoustics are sometimes actually better in the upper balcony cheap seats than the rear orchestra as the overhang seems to dampen sound.
A wonderful program of classical music at the beautiful David Geffen Hall. Too bad our world demands security checks even in a musical palace like this. The music was soaring however and brought a bit of relief from the deep in winter blues on a rainy Sunday afternoon.
We loved our time in your Hall. We loved the performance Room Full Of Teeth, with the New York Philharmonic. It was a fabulous evening. Women sitting next to us, loved RFOT , she said their sound is wonderful. Thank you, Pamela Yingst Griffin
Great seating, recomend paying for the inhouse parking, your able to walk in from the garage into the haul via an elevator, night we came for the show it was pouring it was great not gave to walk from the outside.
Excellent experience. Great performance.
Lincoln Center home to the NY Philharmonic, the American Ballet, the Metropolitan Opera, the Film Institute, the Newhouse Playhouse and the Juilliard School. Within walking distance to the Jazz Center, Lincoln Center's annex at 59 St & Broadway.
An aesthetic, architectural, and a tourist must-see performing arts center experience when visiting New York City !
I had the opportunity to experience Carmina Burana one of my Absolute favorite pieces in one of my Absolute favorite places. our 200 great artists on stage ... Must see and hear for yourself!
It's an awsome experience to visit this historic theater in upper west Manhattan, NY. The David Geffen Hall is a portion of this very large complex. If you're planning a trip to New York, you should make this a part of your visit.
Professional Performing Arts High School Choir prior to the Handel's Messiah Sing In
I always had tears streaming down my face at the sheer beauty of talent emanating from that stage. I always felt so blessed to be able to buy a ticket. I live in the West and I absolutely love NYC.
New York Philharmonic orchestra. Just grand.
I work events here all the time. Very beautiful venue. Great views as well and definitely great to just walk around and enjoy during the summer
I highly recommend second tier center for a superb sound and great view of the entire orchestra!
Never once have I been disappointed in a performance here!!
Terrific venu and concert.
Beautifully redone. Sound was incredible.
It was my graduation and it was beautiful. Great for pictures.
I saw Semyon Bychkov conduct here with the debut here of the vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth one Friday afternoon. They performed Berio's Sinfonia for Eight Voices and Orchestra. Plus R. Strauss' Eine Alpensinfonie, Op. 64. Everything was beautiful and great in this setting.
If you love classical music, the New York Philharmonic rehearsals are the best deal around at $22 per ticket.
I look forward to returning to the scene of a wonderfully memorable meal last night at Avra on 14 E 60th.
Having systemic nickel allergy syndrome, dining out is fraught with pitfalls. Few in the Foodservice industry know anything about it.
After explaining to my server why I needed my fish simple grilled with absolutely no other ingredients, he returned a while later with a concerned manager, Steven Muntean. Steven immediately Google information about my allergy and immediately printed out key information. He came over to learn more and to make absolutely sure that I would have a wonderful meal and enjoyable time in spite of my food limitations. His genuine interest and passion for fulfilling a great meal at Avra for every guest is a quality that ripples to all diners.
Complimented by server, Abigail, who also lended her special class of genuine interest, the meal was sensational.
The bronzino is unrivaled! The atmosphere is just as yummy. The consistency of all things wonderful is why I had to write this and say thank-you to Steve, Abigail and the entire Avra establishment.
Karen Hope Moss
Five star staff, the venue is nice, but as with most spaces, not enough toilets for women, line out the door and a short intermission make it a bit frustrating.
New York's Premier concert venue. One of the great theaters of Lincoln Center .... the cultural Mecca for NYC events. A definite must-see for anyone visiting NYC!
A lot of beautiful performances occur here. Mostly orchestra and ballet. Usually crowded but not too much to enjoy the scenery.
Said the elevator was broken ( it was working) made me walk up four flights of marble steps, pregnant, in heels 🙄 …
Very nice theater in Lincoln center. It does not seem cut out for classical, but is probably good for other music.
Beautiful venue for music. Staff is professional and friendly. Don't bring outside food and drinks, and be ready for them to inspect bags.
Beautiful. As a first time and possible only time I will ever be there. What an experience. The venue and the Philharmonic. WOW!
Saw Gustavo Dudamel conducting the L.A. Philharmonic. I still have chills thinking about it! It was the fifth time seeing Dudamel. Can't wait for his next visit to NYC. He is a rock star!
The hall is gorgeous and the performances were epic.
Just a beautiful place with wonderful staff. The show was perfect and the haply hour special on drinks is actually a decent deal at about 6 dollars a drink.
Went to world premiere of A Fire in My Mouth, a new multimedia oratorio by Julia Wolfe. Breathtaking. Too bad tonight was its last performance. Jaap, the new conductor is amazing.
A great venue with awesome acoustics. All seats are good and the staff is friendly and efficient. The NY phil is awesome!
Just fantastic
The home of the NY Philharmonic. I have to say the sound is not as good as Carnegie hall and the seating capacity is not as big either. But if you want to see the NY Phil, this will be your go to place
This is onces of NYC best concerts halls, always try to get ticket while in NYC, always very affordable. The whole see is nice
This house is the home of The New York Philharmonic. In addition, other companies perform here. If you like great music this is definitely for you.
Very clean. Good lighting. Easy stage viewing from anywhere. Seating is dated with very limited space
NY PHILHARMONIC is a top orchestra and the program of Mozart Respigi and Hayden was very pleasant. Seats in theatre could use upgrading.
Been there several times, great performance, great artists and staff. Being a student the only issue is that it's not easy to find an affordable restaurant nearby.
Handel's Messiah performed passionately and with such precision by the New York Philharmonic. How lucky we are to live in this city where art of this quality is accessible.
The NY Philharmonic didn't disappoint, went for a Phil the Hall performance and what a great way to bring world class performance to the masses
Performance New Year's Eve was excellent, but I was surprised and disappointed that the program was so short. Prior years' New Year Eve concerts have lasted much longer.
The concert hall remains acoustically superb. And the restrooms remain easy to get stuck in or locked out of.
Great, exciting first time experience. Dinner at the Kitchen was perfect. And of course the NY Philharmonic fantastic.
There is no bad seat anywhere, except if you sit really close to the front. Great music! I go about once a month.
The home of The New York Philharmonic is a bit outdated stylistically, but the experience of hearing this world-class orchestra is exceptional.
Never a bad experience in this beautiful concert hall. Terrific acoustics and comfortable seats.
Fantastic concert hall. For memorable experiences. We enjoyed an evening with the philharmonic.
Beautifully designed hall with amazing acoustics... Audiences are lively and respectful... A must- see!!!
Modern, new, acoustically designed
Very comfy with half price drinks!
Clean, open space. Resembles the Kennedy Performing Ats Theater in Washington, DC. Beautiful. Loved it!
The Graduation was awesome, the center was the perfect spot for the graduation, problem with parking, but still work out great.
Unbelievable experience today. My daughter and I got exceptional treatment by the staffing for the college fair. Thanks for the great day!
Beautiful hall with great acoustics and the shows here are nothing short of masterful. Come here to see the greats.
Wonderful venue to see Mostly Mozart (and any other concert, I'm sure)!
Harry potter with the philharmonic omg
Acoustics are sublime!
I noticed that the stuff in this place is very caring and polite with elderly people. It was a pleasure to see it. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism!
Very nice my first time there I love it
Matthew Edward Hall is the hottest guy on Earth and his music and words are mind blowing!
The NY Phil is one of the Big 5 orchestras for a good reason, and David Geffen Hall is an ideal home for them.
The heart of orchestral music in NYC. Perhaps not as impressive as Carnegie Hall, but still necessary for the "Lincoln Center Experience." Must do!
Beautifully Done Cardozo Law School Graduation
Outstanding concert and very nice venue with good sightlines and acoustics.
Splendid Philharmomic performance of Britten's Sea Interludes and Elgar's Enigma Variation's under the baton of Simone Young.
The philharmonic is a wonderful experience. David Geffen Hall is a very special space for me. Would recommend.
Awesome experience at the Phil....as always

Always a great place to see one of the best orchestras in the world.
Went only to listen to a rehearsal, but still the concert was incredible.
Our seats were towards the back of the hall, but they were still great.
A great concert venue, especially when you are hearing the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.
A famously flawed hall improved acoustically by the new placement of the stage, at least ,for Mostly Mozart.
Fabulous performance space and home of the NY Philharmonic. A must see and hear when in NYC.
Amazing hall with great accousts!
Magnificent ! Beautifully restored !!
Excellent acoustics, but the building itself needs some TLC!
Beethovens 3rd Symphony (?) Was great.Very relaxing after just flying into town this morning.
Small and the seat is not well organized. I was easily blocked by the people in front of me.
Awesome performance of Tchaikovsky's 4th Symphony. An absolute aural delight!
Beautiful and not too cold. Comfortable seats and elegant design
Young people's concerts - fantastic and inspirational children's introduction to classical music
Love this theater
Only drawback is long lines into restrooms can make you late getting back to seat after intermission.
It was a very clean and organized hall. I had my graduation here and it was very professional.
So much culture. The sound is not as good on the top balconies but maybe that's just all in your head.
The First Ring Seats are the best, relative to price. Out of this world experience!
Beautiful venue in the Lincoln Center complex. Home of the NY Philharmonic.
Great spot for performances and even a quick bite before or after the show
It was very fancy. They have a wonderful waterfall in front.
Saw the New York Philharmonic and they sounded great. It took some time to get in due to security.
The problem is acoustic. It is unfortunate for NYP to have to continue to perform in this rather poorly sounding hall.
NYC Philharmonic, great performance. Not a bad seat in hall.
Security line can get a little long. Orchestra seating is good.
Great sight lines, and the balcony tiers don't feel too crowded.
The performances are amazing but the facility is in need of the pending renovation
The sound of the orchestra is heavenly... I will go back to feel transported.
