Reviews of A.R.T./New York Theatres
I’ve see several shows here and without fail the theater has been great, whichever stage it is. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The bathrooms are clean. Acoustics in the theaters I’ve seen shows in here are good as well. Highly recommend seeing a show here!
Theatre staff are friendly and attentive as soon as you walk in they direct you to the theater. Very clean spacious, new and fresh throughout the whole building. Theatre is small but comfortable. Wheel chair accessible.
We were first time patrons of A.R.T./New York Theaters and viewed the production of Powerhouse. The theater staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The freight style elevator made for a fun ride with about 15 other theater aficionados. I like the no frills in terms being concession free and our theater was an intimate space that allowed us to "feel" the play's pulse. Bravo!
Very nice theatrical spaces. Very friendly staff. Good view from any seat. Very affordable prices.
Very nice off Broadway theatre, sometimes has been International productions.
Metaphors abound... decent acting. I was not impressed with the production. Honestly, the play fell and felt flaT. Small theater, seats a raised on a narrow catwalk, making any sort of movement DANGEROUS. After the production, we were not 🚫 allowed to wait for our car 🚗 service in the vestibule. I'm NOT 🚫 sure if race was an ISSUE. BEST part of the production was it's short time run! Shady space...not too inviting in terms of DIVERSITY 👀🎯✌🏾. I doubt I would EVER go 🔙!!!
Beautiful space with 2 theaters.. Very comfortable, spacious.. Seats can be configured depending on the production, WiFi, cleans rest rooms.. Go see they play there now.
It had plenty of leg room and ability to see from your seat.
My Acting group called Epic Players used the Theater space to perform our production of "Almost Maine" and it was a huge success. The backstage dressing room was good and has enough space, looking forward to using the spot again
This theatre is very nice. I went to see dropping gumballs on Luke Wilson and I really enjoyed it. Very small and intimate feel. The staff are so welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I would love to visit again and see more productions.
"Romeo & Bernadette: A Musical Journey from Verona to Brooklyn" is why Off-Broadway exists, to find the show with legs to make it on the great white way. The show was freaking amazing. It was so funny and the singers were off the charts talented with near operatic voices. (Some could and probably have sung opera) What was really great was meeting some of the cast afterwards when I suggested they were having a great time doing the show. One of them said they're having such a good time they (almost) crack each other up during their scenes. All I can say is this show should be on Broadway and if you haven't seen it GO NOW!!!! You will not be sorry .....
Been here before know two theaters are at this location. They have elevator.
Despite what Theatermania says, this theater is on W 53rd! Don't go to the wrong place like we did! Thankfully, the production crew was awesome and held a few minutes for us. Saw a production featuring actors of all differing abilities in short plays talking about diversity in life. It was wonderful!
Nice small off Broadway theater. Friendly staff, comfortable lobby.
The venue is in a location that is wonderfully removed from the hubbub of Broadway. Parking right next door for us out-of-towners. Superlative writing, cast and production of Romeo and Bernadette. Left smiling! And wanting to go back again!
To see thoughtful, independent theatre and musical productions in NYC, check out the line-up at this very Midtown West performance space. Luminous, clean, fully wheelchair-accessible. I’ve been to different companies’ shows here, and it’s always been a positive experience.
New, comfortable, off-Broadway, multi-theater space.
Nice small theatre. Convenient to get to by mass transit. Attended "What To Send Up When it Goes Down". It was absolutely amazing. Much love to the actors/actresses and playwright for this one!!!
Great new venue... Space I was in on 2nd FL seems like it has configuration options, great views (Stadium-like seating) and the sound (system was impeccable [don't know if it was the productions or the theatre's equipment]).
Theater was nice and the play was good
Beautiful clean new space, all covid precautions in place. Great theater experience!
An elegant black box theatre, and a good cast of actors in a real play, with a real ethical dilemma at stake
Great location and a beautiful theater they remodel about 2 years ago. They also are doing really interesting work and I look forward to seeing more shows here
This is a gorgeous new theatre space. I recommend checking out a play here. I saw Theater Breaking Through Barriers' presentation of "The Other Plays." The space is very accessible.
In a building that’s only about three years old, this place is home to small theater companies and provides performance and rehearsal space. Saw a play here and was very impressed with the facility!
Awesome show!! Regan Sims..wonderful addition to the cast!!
First time at this well appointed far west theatre for a PlayCo production of "Time's Journey Through a Room". A haiku of a play. Quiet. Short. And then it's done.
Absolutely beautiful state of the art theatre spaces with the biggest control room I've ever been in. The staff is wonderfully helpful as well
This is a great off Broadway theater with unique shows that are entertaining. Very helpful staff as well.
Gorgeous theater . The staff couldn’t be any more helpful. Love the vibe of the place . Definitely will be back .
I did the Broadway Teachers Workshop here and it was such a phenomenal experience. So much so that I'm taking a group of my students to the next one!
Lovely space. It would be a pleasure to go again. I just recommend that they put coat/bag hooks in the restroom.
Beautiful, modern theater space with a HUGE elevator for productions bringing in large amounts of stuff.
Saw Matilda, was very impressed and encouraged by the talent of the young cast. They were off the chain.
Lovely new small theatre venue with two state of the art theatre spaces.
Great off Broadway space, intimate
Beautiful modern theater space. Saw an intense and wonderful play
Excellent! The show Romeo and Bernadette was fantastic, I want to see it again!
