Outstanding service, and a great show. The fact that you receive outstanding service from the actual participants in the performance makes the experience even more appreciated. For the size of the stage and venue, they do an exceptional job with the production. The meal is well prepared, tasty, and from what I understand, you can get as much as you like. One of the best places to visit in Delaware! Saw Memphis on Friday night and the cast was phenomenal! If I Could give 10 stars I would because it was just a fabulous performance! The dinner was also wonderful with multiple things to choose from or you can try a little of everything. I had not been here for a show before and now I am a total fan! I will definitely be coming back for the Christmas show and bragging to everyone what they are missing out on if they have not been here before! Hey single guys... this would make a great date that will definitely be a memorable one!

I am a huge Monty Python fan so when I saw that Spamalot was being done nearby at the Candlelight Theatre I decided to go see it. I had no expectations before my arrival because I had never visited it before. What I did find was a scrumptious buffet that included wonderful varied items and the wait staff were the actors and actresses of the play. While bringing the drinks and offering to help in any way, they were friendly and told stories and interacted with the tables of people. Anthony, Sir Robin, was at my table and was a delight. He pours the hot liquids expertly due to his training when he was 4. (Ask him to tell you the story 😆) When the play started I thought it would be fun, but not well polished. What I got was a perfectly done play that was so enjoyable I was looking forward to coming back even before it was finished. Upon leaving, the actors and actresses lined up at the exit to shake hands and thanked me for coming. Perfect end to a perfect day. If you are reading this review, try to get there before the end of February and see Spamalot!

This place is phenomenal! We went for the first time this weekend and enjoyed every second! The food was excellent and unlimited. Great entrees and desserts. All seats have a good view of the stage. The wait staff, who are in or help with the show, were friendly and so helpful to us newbies. We saw CLUE and if you loved the movie you will LOVE this show!! Funny, well acted and just plain fun. My only negative is to say it was quite cold in there, so if you go take a sweater or light jacket, but honestly it isn't worth dinging them for it. I know it's hot under those stage lights! We will be going back and I will be recommending to everyone. Just a fantastic experience. So glad we went!!

We had an enjoyable night but didn't realize there were 2 hours between the start of dinner and the start of the show. We we're done eating at 6:45 and had to wait until 8 for the show. Next time we'll come later for dinner. Food was about average for banquet type food but there were plenty of options and we certainly didn't go hungry. Our server Sophie was great. The show was very entertaining although because some of the actors we're so young, it kind of felt like I was watching a high school show. Hi

Loved the performances. It's a cute little theatre with a big feel. It's nice not having to go over an hour away to see a Dinner Show. It feels more close and personal too. Can't wait to go back for next season! I hope they bring back season passes, maybe they still have them but I couldn't find how to get them.

I haven't been to the Candlelight Theater for a while but is was nice to go back. This theater is an old barn and they have the most talented youngsters performing their shows that it is worth the money you put out on a ticket! It includes dinner, and believe me when I say their food is Delicious!!!! It would take to long to give my review, can't wait till I go back to see "Ain't Misbehaving" starting on July 31st. Can't forget to praise the servers, believe when I say I have gotten absolutely better treatment here than at some Restaurants my husband and I go too!! Kudos to our server Cody!!!!!! 🙂

I’ve attended the Candlelight Dinner Theater, for shows, many years. I was just in for my recent Birthday, with my daughter. I’ve always had a wonderful visit there. I ordered tickets for a upcoming show, and Betsy was extremely courteous, in my show tickets purchase. I highly recommend the entire staff to my friends, and family.

This is a very good dinner theater and it is becoming more of a novelty as these types of places seem to be disappearing. They had a good selection of food here. The quality of the food itself was decent, but it was a bit lackluster. The desserts were very good though. What makes this Dinner Theatre stand out is the perfect balance between courtesy and efficiency. The staff here obviously knows what they're doing and they move quickly and purposefully before the show starts and during the intermissions. You can tell they've done this a thousand times, but they are careful to treat you like customers and not numbers. The acting and the quality of the show was very good and definitely accomplished its purpose. The writing and retelling of the show, Brigadoon, was well done, although it did speed up the pacing of the stage play to uncomfortable speeds from time to time.

I really love the candlelight dinner theater. It is so great to have a local place that puts on quality shows. I think that the buffet is always good also, with a good variety of food and lots of tasty deserts. We always get other people gift certificates for shows and take friends and family. Our kids like it too.

The food is good, and being a buffet, pretty much anybody can find something to eat. Plenty of drink options, and a really good brownie sundae you can add on. But the real treat is the theater. I don't think I've ever seen a bad show here. Their is some serious talent appearing on stage here. They also have interactive shows, comedy and trivia nights. Highly recommend checking them out.

Most importantly, the actors & actresses were wonderful. Well acted play with beautifully sung songs by the entire troupe. The food was fine. Certainly not gourmet but as good as you'll find in most restaurants in this price range. Speaking of price, $63 for an expansive buffet meal plus an enjoyable play is very reasonable. The facility was clean and neat but it was showing its age. It needs updating, but from what the folks there said, that's in the works for the near future. All in all, a fun night out and well worth the expense.

I'm regularly impressed by the quality of their shows. The performers/staff do a great job of setting a fun atmosphere. The buffet served beforehand is quite good, but after having season tickets, it did start to feel repetitive despite the variations.

One of the coolest places on Earth! The buffet is off the charts and the local talent is mind-blowing. We have been coming there several times a year for many years and it is a 2 1/2 hour drive for us. Recently retired and moved to FL, we will miss our trips to Candlelight, but hope to catch a show each August when we come back to visit family and friends

Took my wife to see Beauty and the Beast. This isn't really my kinda thing but the show was good, they did an excellent job. Dinner was buffet style and there is enough for most people to pick from, it tasted pretty good also. Great staff, make sure you bring cash for a tip, they deserve it.

A fantastic experience. The staff (which double as the cast members!) is EXCELLENT. The place is cozy, yet large enough to not sit on anyone's lap. The food is very good. The show was so much fun, great crowd as well. Will definitely go again! (1st timer)

We saw three shows there in the two years we relocated to Delaware from NYC and have never been disappointed. Broadway quality shows with a delicious dinner for half to one third of the price Broadway shows. Tonight we saw an excellent production of Cabaret with a live band. We are eagerly anticipating the next show in late February 2020.

We've been going to Candlelight for a couple of years now. We bought the season pass this year because we enjoy going so much. The sets are always so well done and the actors and actresses are incredible, especially Anthony. The food is delicious and the people are kind. Jodi is so accommodating and always greets us with a smile. I'm not sure I could ask for anything more. Highly recommend for a great night out.

My daughter performed in The secret Garden as Mary Lennox .The director Bob Kelly did an amazing job on directing such a great show with a very talented cast. It was my first time watching a show and dining there and what an amazing experience it was. The location was great . Nice neighborhood . Food was really good . Its nice to be up close with the actors while they serve you. Everyone was very nice. Overall ....awesome!!!!!

We attended the production of South Pacific and did they really do the show Justice. The female lead did such a wonderful job that I almost thought I was listening to the movie. Everyone made the show a great production. We had 3 couples at our table and everyone felt the same way! The food was also done really well. The ribs were so tender and flavorful we went back for 2 and 3 servings. What a wonderful evening. Thanks!!! We were so taken with the show that we immediately signed up for the current show "Catch me if you can" about the true story of imposter Frank Abagnale jr. Can't wait for opening night on September 14th.

Anyone who has been to Candlelight will return for another show. The plays are always professionally executed and the atmosphere is to kill for. The servers during food time are your performers later, so you get to know them a bit before they head up on stage. Been many times, and will go for decades to come.

I had the pleasure of seeing the play The Drowsy Chaperone. It was very entertaining and kept your attention. Connor McAndrews did an excellent job as the narrator. It was a lively cast in general with a couple of outstanding singers. They did a good job on the dinner buffet that was included in the price of the ticket. Drinks were reasonable.

I saw Beauty and the Beast and let me tell you it’s my all time favorite Disney movie! Candlelight Theatre did an amazing job! Not only do they put on a show but they are also the staff during the dinner part of the night! They had to be super busy all night long and put on a fabulous production! A quaint dinner theater .My 2nd visit. This little place Blew the roof off with their latest show "DO BLACK PATENT LEATHER SHOES REALLY REFLECT UP?. Well do they? The performers were fantastic the food was good, the service was great. The seating was to capacity, but everyone was fed some with second portions. I'm not a meat eater so I stayed out of the entree line. The salad had everything but hard boiled eggs an red onions. Terrific place for dinner an a show.

Talented people, excellent food and service. However, bring a cushion for the chair, hard to enjoy the show when you can't think of anything else except how much it hurts to keep sitting-whole family experienced same issue. They desperately need to replace the seating!!!!

What a wonderful surprise this was. We were virgins to the "barn" and watched the play Sweeney Todd. Seriously you have to treat yourself and your loved ones. I actually hate giving you this info as I would love this gem to stay as it is a lovely, quaint,charming small wonder in Delaware. The actors are personable down to earth sweethearts, the food is off the hook delicious and I am the worse critic so that is saying something! I just really cannot say enough about this place and the awesome experience we had. In fact I am in the process of booking " mame" for my entire family as a Christmas present to them.

Too many tables create an uncomfortable seating situation. I would not return for this reason. Sound system needs an upgrade. Sound was painfully loud. Food was good/great buffet with something for everyone.

It's a great place to go to and enjoy lunch/dinner and a show. The cast have been great at the two shows I've seen thus far, White Christmas and Sister Act. The food is delicious too! I would recommend and plan on coming back for more shows.

Food 3.5+, service 5.0, show 4.5, performers 5.0, overall experience 4.5+ I loved the players lined up after the show to thank us as we departed and give us a chance to thank them for their excellent work. The story (Sister Act) followed the movie closely enough with a few twists to make it its own. The music was original for the play and proved to be a real treat. All of the performers were good, a few were outstanding. I don't set the bar high for local theater, they have to squeeze the pennies, but these folks cleared the bar by a mile. Kudos! Bravo! 👏🏽 This quality of theater deserves support and Candlelight delivers above and beyond. We'll be back; hope to see you.
