Reviews of Delaware Theatre Company
This theater is amazing. It is located in the Riverfront Area of Downtown Wilmington and less than a 5 minute walk from the Wilmington Train Station. Every seat has a spectacular view and all the plays I have seen here were exceptional. The Black Angels over Tuskegee is currently running until October 30 and the tickets were about $70 each including taxes and well worth it. This is the Broadway of Delaware and if you check out their website you can see the line up for the season. This is a cute date night and family night in my opinion. I will be back again and again for sure!
There isn't a bad seat in this theater. The show, One Man, Two Guvnors was wonderful.
Went with family for a small Christmas musical . The employees were informative and friendly and the theater has a great cozy vibe and great views of the stage!!
One of the most Underrated theatres in the tri-state area. Not a bad seat in the house. Wonderful staff, dedicated performers and the set designs are always on point. Great location, right off I95, and close to some incredible restaurants. Right off the waterfront which can have nice views. Do yourself a favor and make it to a show!
My first time at DTC. I like the parking close to the Theatre. It's an attractive and clean venue and the restrooms were also clean.
I was surprised by how well done the musical was. We saw Other World and it was great. Happy to have such a great venue in Delaware.
What a great gem in Wilmington! Every seat in the theater is phenomenal! The acoustics are wonderful and the play we saw last night (The sign of the times) was fabulous! We are looking toward to visiting this theater again very soon!
Not a bad seat in the house. Funny an entertaining....One man, Two Guv'nors.
We saw my mother's Italian my father's Jewish and I'm in therapy, theater is comfortable, small, easy parking. The show was absolutely hilarious, enjoyed the whole encounter
I absolutely love watching plays, and I have to say that this theater, the service, and the actors are amazing 10/10
Small, modern, purpose built theater. No obstructed views. Comfortable, banked seating; no knees on chair backs. Decor: understated elegance. Compact lobby & facilities, intelligent design, no wasted space, not cramped, comfortable alcoves while waiting.
Back of building, looks like a warehouse, faces the entry road, so trust your GPS the first time you go. Also, the same address is used in the industrial across the river, so get it right.
Strict covid precautions. Polite, friendly, well trained staff and volunteers. Plenty of free parking. Just off Riverwalk (several restaurants from casual, sports bars, to fine dining). Nearby Market closes early, but if you come for the day, you'll have plenty to do.
Play (Brighton ... Memoirs) was well staged and acted. Smiles 😃 and tears 😢. Next season looks good, so we subscribed. Reasonable prices, discounts available.
Highly recommended! 👌
The production The Black Angels Over Tuskegee was absolutely amazing!! It was powerful and emotional!!
The performance (City of Conversation) was outstanding. Top notch facility, fairly small so every seat would be great.
always a good show, small enough that all seats are great.
Saw Ray Didinger's "Tommy and Me." This gem was well acted and is a great story. It is the anecdote to big time and big money sports that harkens back to a time when the players weren't corporations and the fans had access to their heroes. The post play Q and allowed the viewing audience the same unvarnished access to the actors and special guests. We thoroughly enjoyed the play. Bravo and well done!
Price range is great and every seat is good.
This is a nice little community theater that has put on some great shows, and makes going to the theater more affordable.
I have seen some fantastic theatre here with the Christmas Carol production in 2017 being the best stage production I have ever seen, and I've seen a ton! There isn't a bad seat in this place and I believe they put on a diverse set of shows and take some risks with directors and writers that I believe is well worth it. Great location. Near restaurants, river views, and good parking.
Vaccination card or negative covid test, picture ID and mask required to enter. Fairly unfriendly people at the door checking paper work. Talented performers.
Communist facility. Acting was great but they forced me to take a covid test to get in when I have the antibodies. Than they make you pay for the test 🤦♂️ Vaccinated people which are way more likely to get covid don’t have to test though. Makes perfect sense. Have we lost our minds 🥲 felt like my freedom was completely violated …
A great space that does wonderful work!
They are very covid aware and you have to have a vaccination card to get in. Is very beautiful theater with no bed seats in the theater. There is plenty of parking
We've been here for a few shows over the past few years, and it never disappoints. The theater is small and intimate and the actors are always extremely skilled and well rehearsed. The only difficulty you may encounter is finding parking if you arrive too late. No matter what the play, this is a great place to see it.
Went to a comedy show a few weeks ago here. Venue following covid restrictions including vaccine proof or negative covid test. Everyone wore masks. Staff all nice, got into show quick no line outside. Parking was around corner, sign posted.
They put on Broadway bound, Broadway quality shows in an intimate setting. My son also went to his first drama camp this past summer ( he'll be 10 soon). It was a very well run camp, worth every penny, he can't wait to go back next summer and wants to do at least two ( out of three) sessions. The camp and staff have a very supportive atmosphere, they're very positive and the kids follow their lead. I would highly recommend both their shows and their camp.
Generally wonderful performances, although each year of a season there's always 1 I dont like. The actors are super and there's really not a bad seat in the house. The prices are a little high but it is live theater so...
Talk about an intimate environment to see a play. Theater in a semicircle made ever seat a good one. We plan on attending multiple plays and seat in the "cheap seats" because of quality of each one and enjoy dining at the nearby Waterfront restaurants.
The theater is small but very comfortable. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. This is my 4th or 5th year of buying season tickets and have only seen 1 play that I did not care for. I would recommend it to anyone.
Awesome Experience! Every seat in the house good! One Yankee Review worth seeing! Stefanie Powers and Harry Hamlin great performance! A must see!
We just saw the most amazing show, Sanctions. It was deeply compelling and engaging. Deals with topic straight out of the headlines. Great talk-back after the show. A wonderful experience.
Saw the performance of Menopause and thoughly enjoyed it. Music was great and I loved the the new versions of the songs. Even bought the cd. I like the intimate nature of a small theater.
Nice theater in Wilmington, quite easy to access from I 95. But there is not adequate parking. The show was very well produced, and held ones interest but the star performer was a little disappointing.
Nice, well kept facility. All seats have great views
DTC member and saw Tommy and Me. Enjoyed the show and the night with dinner @ Banks Seafood. Perfect together.
Resubscribed for the umpteenth time. Shows are fascinating, well-done. No bad seats in this intimate theater. Discount on nearby dining. Can park near restaurant, have dinner and take Riverwalk to theater.
Beautiful theatre. Inside and out. Show (5 Women) was honest and creative. Fantastic women with great stories!!#
Totally enjoyed an old favorite played out by a wonderful all female cast. Dickens would have enjoyed seeing his own Christmas Carol reimagined.
Really great performances. They get wonderful actors from all over the Philadelphia and DE area. Great choice of plays as well!
Easy location to find. Staff, from the box office, to concession, to volunteer ushers, were all very pleasant and helpful!! Will definitely visit again for future shows.
Delaware's gateway to newer productions. Wonderful, dedicated staff working to bring new shows to the stage. A great place to see an amazing show before anyone else!
Top quality theatre in an incredible, intimate setting. I love seeing shows at DTC. They do an excellent job with their programming, each season offers something for everyone!
Seats are very small. Felt like person next to me was half in my seat. That person was not with me. Very uncomfortable.
Fantastic theater. I've seen many, many shows here and never been disappointed. I'm so glad it's in our community.
Great theater, not a bad seat in the house!!
For many decades, theatergoers have given the bulk of their patronage to the prestigious Dupont Theatre in downtown Wilmington in the vicinity of Rodney Square and Market Street. However, I think that not many people have explored the small but fabulous theatre on the Riverfront called the Delaware Theatre Company. It is a terrific place that is near Harry's Seafood and Grill and the Wilmington Market. They offee quality and top-notch performances like the well-known Dupont Theatre and the seating is comfortable. The attendants are friendly and professional and I enjoyes watching "The Diner" in early January of 2016! More people should give the Delaware Theatre Company more opportunities to dazzle them with raucous laughter, fine performances, color and pageantry, and wonderful memories to come once the final curtains have closed.
I've only been twice but each time I'm amazed with how clever they are with props and this most recent visit was so much fun! Convenient location and excellent value for the money!
Here for the first time to see "Something Wicked This Way Comes" which was a great and well-executed show. Talent, technical features, costumes, lighting, all.
Very pleasant workers. Felt very safe. Tommy and Me play was entertaining.
Wonderful theater. Pretty close to Broadway professionalism and experience.
I saw the Melodic Movements dance recital here and it was amazing. The theater is beautiful, seats are stacked and the sound was perfect.
Nice theatre. No bad seats. Great production of Xmas Carol. Super friendly atmosphere.
Good shows with good views from every seat in the house. There are often opportunities to stay for a Talk Back with the cast afterward.
Play was well done. Seating is comfortable. I'm 6 foot plus and had knee room
Theatre camp was a meaningful and molding experience for my daughter. A positive environment and dedicated staff and interns.
This is a great venue for shows. All the seats are good and they produce quality shows.
We saw HONK! Great show! Quaint theatre, not a bad seat on the house.

I've been here numerous amounts of times but acting something I'd like to get more involved in because I really like it. Would this be the right place to start?
Lovely facility - small, intimate and easy to maneuver - bathroom was cleaned.

Local theater!!
Great little theater nearly on the Wilmington river front. We saw a clever British farce, One Man Two Guvnors. Lots of laughs, great work by the cast. Theater nicely laid out, literally no bad seats. Thought ticket a bit pricey ($70) but had a great time.
Sensational! First Class Service.
