Carmen Kissinger
It was an amazing show, all the Drag queen were outstanding, very professionals and accurate with the roll they were performing, very entertaining, my daughter and I love it and definitely will see them again, we are fans since their individual season, but after tonight, they have all our admiration and respect, drag queen crew you all are amazing. Thank you for the exquisite show.
Brandie Galaviz
Ive been here a couple times. Really neat place. Chairs are crampped and tight for bigger people but the shows here have always been fun. The bathroom is upstairs and absolutely gorgeous!
Tony Foster
The show was 5 stars... the balcony seats are a little close together, so if you're there for a show be prepared for your knees to be near your chin. Also if in the balcony come down the wall steps as there is a hand rail. We saw "Who's Live Anyway" and it was fantastic. The sound was great it was easy to hear and interact. Highly recommend seeing the top notch shows they bring to town.
Terri Chu
Of course I got the honor of setting up for a show here. And really this building has so much character I did not realize how old the Orpheum was . Plus the history that I never really realized it has as well as all the performing artist that has performed for wichitans here. So my advice to you is to put this down as a must do. Just to say you have got to be entertained by what ever show you choose to see. Just go!!!
James Jones
Seats are a little strange that slide forward just a tad. No stairs, just a very steep down grade that'll catch you off guard and make you stumble. There is lots of history and classy place with a great sound system. For a special night out, this place is the ticket. Remarkable experience! 5 stars
Kerri Jones
Went to spidy and friends, sat in the middle bottom balcony. It was fun and could see the stage well.
Tommy Bunce
Such a cool venue with a long and interesting past. I hope it continues to get great concerts at reasonable prices and that they get enough donors to bring it back to its former glory. Maybe some of those Wichita billionaires can help drive that 😏 …
S M
Downtown but decent parking nearby.
There were bag checks and metal detectors but the line moved quickly. Older historic venue, bathrooms are upstairs. Concessions available, card only.
Volunteers were very friendly and helpful.
Darren Cook
Had a wonderful time watching Mania an abba tribute band. There is absolutely no leg room for the front roll balcony!!! I understand this is a historical building but Why do they not at least touch up the paint?
Ryan Smith
Really cool historic theater, plenty of free parking within a block, only complaint was the seats need updated.
Veronica Kwareh
The Blue October concert was fire! I’m glad that Wichita can bring in great bands. I love the intimate atmosphere of the Orpheum. It was so much fun.
Jason Hedlund
Needs renovation work but it's a great venue. Concerts here are much more intimate. Not a bad seat in the house and good concession prices!
Jennifer Clough
Classic. Saw The Black Jacket Symphony. Staff was amazing as usual
Melinda Gillespie
The Orpheum is an amazing venue and beautiful location, a local treasure
Grant Bickell
Beautiful venue. Went to see Jim Brickman and it did not disappoint.
Though I will say, when the lights came up, the deferred repair of the building could be seen.
Richard Pohlenz
We went to see Liverpool Legends, a Beatles tribute band. Good show, lots of fun. The theatre will be 100 years old this September. The original decor is still present but in need of continuing renovation. A great venue for an evening entertainment.
Kaylee McCullough
Took my 11 year old to see Lindsay Sterling's Christmas tour. It was beautiful and magical, the seats were great, the view was excellent, the bathrooms were like a palace to her, popcorn was delicious,... well worth our money!
Steve Stoffregen
Evening with League 42 showing of 42. Staff and guests were kind and helpful. Funding for the completion of the plaster and seat repair needed for remodeling to make this world class again. Bathrooms were 5☆.
J STEPHEN WILLIAMS
Amazing! Best place to see a live performance on Wichita.
Bradley Lymer
This was my 1st time experiencing an event at The Orpheum. I was pleasantly surprised with how well the place still looks and operates. The fact that this review comes days before the venue turns 100 years old, should say enough about how well this place has been upkept. I highly recommend attending anything here.
Kaylee Cavender
I went for the interactive rocky horror picture show and it was awesome! So much seating(but not so great parking) and so many people. It was a wonderful experience and I'd love to go again!
Ric Wright
Cool 1920ish era theater. Good acoustics for the concert. Just remember the bathrooms are on the second floor, no elevator. It needs serious renovation, it would be beautiful if restored.
Nick Brown
Very much enjoyed the show w/JP Sears tonight! Great venue, love the atmosphere and style. The view from the balcony was excellent.
Teresa Campbell
Loved it. Love the historical look. My Father in law Lee Woodard did comedy skits back in the day there so it was very close to my heart ❤️
Russ Bender
We just finished seeing Black Jacket Symphony perform Led Zeppelin IV in its entirety along with other hits. Won tickets from our local radio station.
Well worth the time.
AuntyNamaw11
I wish they wouldn't have been selling alcohol at a Christian concert, but I understand.
I love the architecture and the fact that they had Chonda Pierce there and I was with my daughter was amazing.
Briana Roets
The show was great seating is very tight you are elbow to elbow so if it's a sold out show be prepared being crowded
Lucas Lockwood
Loved the atmosphere. Biggest drawback is that I am very tall and the seats don't have much room. Prepare for sore knees.
Kathy Cochran
Beautiful building, so glad it is being restored rather than the wrecking ball. The seats leave a lot to be desired though.
Chris M
1920s building in need of repair. It used to be beautiful. The seats are odd scooting backwards on a whim. The acoustics are good, front row has great legroom
Kathy Haxton
We watched the Russian ballet here a month ago. The intimate setting draws you into the performance and I hardly felt we were in a far away from home theatre. The hot chocolate bar was one of our favorites. And I love the little Russian doll and ornament I bought there.
Alan Fitzgerald
I really love this place and all they do to bring smaller venue type entertainment to Wichita! The atmosphere as well as the staff is to of the line and I always feel welcomed!
Jamie Douthit
The theater is beautiful and the staff was so kind. If you or someone in your party is in a wheelchair, keep in mind this is an OLD building. The ramp to get to the stage is extremely steep. There was one gentleman from the staff (I didn't catch his name, I'm sorry!) helped get my mom up and down the ramp a few times and made sure people didn't step in front of her. I would 100% go again.
Gloria Wallace
I really enjoyed the Freddie Jackson concert. The seats were decent, the bathroom was clean and the staff was very pleasant.
Madison Anderson
A classic Wichita staple where you can hear amazing live music or any other kind of show. Always a good experience when I go.
connie west
Saw BYU Vocal Band! High energy! Fabulous voices! Amazing beatboxer, Alex!
Donna Wise
Great acoustics. Garrison Keillor had the audience singing and it was awesome.
Karri Fisher
Beautiful absolutely stunning theatre with original artwork and architecture! Very impressed. Will be back!
Denise Pywell
Retirement party for Barney! Had a fantastic time. We will miss you so much Barney.
Steven Harader
I love watching concerts with friends, such as the great Robert Cray to taking the nephew and niece to seeing classic movies from my childhood or even before my childhood such as Willy Wonka and Princess Bride.
Dan Wiens
Had seats in the balcony for a live stage show. View of the stage was very good. The seats and cushions are in poor condition, and have very little leg room. Two plus hours and I had to keep changing my seating position. The theatre has retained many of the original interior features from when it was built in 1922.
Tamara Harrison
Very pleasant and helpful employees. Cool building, nice bathrooms. Seating was tight but that's expected of an old building.
Bob Hendershot
Orpheum theater was monumental as always. Joe Bonamassa was fabulous 🤩. It's a great place for a concert. …
Leonard Dale
Glad they keep it open
More work is needed on seating and floors. Update this grand old theater please.
Nancy Dinell
We have an annual date to watch GRIDIRON which is a benefit for journalism scholarships.
We enjoy the historic facility at the Orpheum. The staff and volunteers always make us feel very welcome. The women's omfort station is gorgeous. The renovation work makes me realize what a "grand lady" the Orpheum was years ago. Let's keep up the preservation. Its a wonderful piece of Wichita history.
Sharing popcorn & an adult beverage while we laugh our heads off at the satire skits is so much fun!
Rebecca Russell
I absolutely love my experience every time we're there. The old theater is beautiful, we recently saw Weird Al and it was the perfect venue for his show!!
Misty Ralph Lester
This theater is quite historic & simply beautiful. The view is fine across the house & the sound is nice. The amount of oddly spaced stairs is a problem & I witnessed several falls. If you have any issues with steps, I'd avoid anything but a floor seat. The seats are very very small & several people either could not fit in the seat or had to be moved in order to fit next to a smaller person. One couple left without seeing the show because they couldn't sit in the seats. The staff is phenomenal. The drinks are good (about $8...canned beer & mixed). The entertainment that the theater draws is very nice. Glad to have this gem in town.
kate sullivan
This place is seriously run down. It has cracks in the walls and ceiling, the chairs are very, very old and slant forward. You literally feel like you might be tossed from your seat. That's being said, it is ran by volunteers, and everyone was very pleasant. The show I was at was sold out, and it was just way too crowded.
Neah
The theatre is a beautiful historic building and the sound was amazing. Everything about the theatre and show were amazing except our seats. I ordered tickets on the lower level balcony in the second row but when we were seated, our seats were in the highest balcony second row from top. Several people around us had the same problem happen to them.
Cheyenne Sejour
Always a great time at the Orpheum theater. Enjoy the shows they bring in as well as getting to marvel at the architecture of the building. Staff are very friendly. Don't forget to look at the detail of the building including the bathrooms. They are gorgeous and a must see as well.
Belyndae Johanningsmeier
Wonderful place! Easy access and always the best shows.
Duck Deer fish
Jp sears was great. The building is like traveling back in time. 5 stars!
Susan Coonce
I love going to events at this beautiful theater! It's been too long since we were there last. This was our third time seeing Lisa Rock and her band at the Orpheum. We enjoyed it so much!!!
Linae Bouche
My first time here to see a show. Seats are on the small side with absolutely no elbow room but truly enjoyed the atmosphere and beauty. Chonda was outstanding.
Merry Matthews
The Orpheum, an historic theatre in downtown Wichita, Kansas, provides a wide variety of entertainment. They host concerts, comedy shows, lectures, educational programs, movies and plays. They have also hosted Science Friday, a weekly program from NPR, public radio. The facilities are currently being renovated and each time I attend an event I am thrilled to see the progress that has been made.
Roy Hammar
Great venue! We will be back for future shows!
Tracy Callard
Great acoustics and super cool literally 100-year-old historic venue. This is the view from the balcony
David Michael
Turn of the century theater, it's a bit run down, but slowly getting renovated. Very cool place to see a show!
Haley Bursack
This is a beautiful building. Lot's of history and charm. Out of this century architecture. A must see and keep for future generations.
Les Nelson
Had a great time at the Gov't Mule concert at the Orpheum Theater great atmosphere friendly staff they had Liquor beer & snack bar clean restrooms God bless you all
Sheena Youngers
I love this venue! Parking is easy and they always put on a good show. I’ve been to Gridiron, Jim Brickman, local concerts, and many many more shows here and am always delighted by the experience. There’s one staff lady that’s always a bit grumpy, but if you go often enough, you’ll recognize her and keep your distance. It can be a bit stuffy, but overall it’s a great venue.
James Outhet
Historic grand lady still a project it the works, but what they have done so far is stunning
M. M. Summers
We've been going to the Orpheum for many years and it's wonderful to see how the restoration project is getting along. The shows are amazing and the creativity that goes into giving people what they want is just 10 out of 10
Natalie Rowe
Love coming here. Always a fun atmosphere with good shows. I only wish the box office had better hours. Getting tickets there before the night of the show is difficult.
Tim Davis
A jewel of Wichita. So much history in this place. Saw Smokey and the Bandit there last night and it was a riot. Can’t wait to go back!
Dawn Fountain
Great venue, beautiful theater, fabulous volunteer staff....been for films and musical performances.
A Bart
What a great work of architecture! Beauty and workmanship isn't done like this anymore. A great Dennis DeYoung concert!
Kindra Whitmore
This theater is amazing built in the 1920s and still providing an amazing experience!!!!
Kyle Grandy
Got to see Who's Live is it Anyway! Great show, great atmosphere!
Jeff Mitchell
Been to plenty if events/shows here. Patton Oswalt was the latest always a great time! Place needs more fixin' up, but nothing that affects the quality of performers and atmosphere.
Chris Pham
Historical feeling when sitting inside. Soundstage is the best. This place needs funding to keep it going so they can bring in enjoyable events.
Lisa Corcoran
This building could be really beautiful but plaster is falling apart and just looked kind of dumpy since the last time I visited several years ago. Concert I was there for was awesome though.
Pamela Aikman
Fabulous nite at this historic venue seeing Whose Live.
Steve Curbelo
Love the history of the place! Hoping they keep getting funding to restore the whole thing! My daughter had to use the restroom and has said it's the best and fanciest bathroom she ever went to.
Ron Dorsey
Excellent! This venue always has incredible talent! Post Modern Jukebox!
Michael Bourell
Nice rustic downtown theater . We love attending this venue. Good dance production by Synergy starring Mia Bourell .
DJ Trivia and DJ Bingo Kansas
Geat theater and venue for shows. Acoustics are wonderful. Needs a major upgrade in seats and cosmetics (paint and carpets).
William Bascombe
The concert was great, just a really tight fit.
Tristan S
I loved the theater, the architecture is beautiful, and with some friends it makes a wonderful night... as long as you're willing to go through a metal detector and spend $5 on a bottle of water.
SSSSongbird
Love the Orpheum. Love supporting this historic theater. We need to preserve things that make this city special...I'm tired of our city constantly tearing things down. Only complaint was with the concessions. I wanted a combo (2 "large" drinks, that are actually medium size, and a popcorn.) Wanted a diet Pepsi and a bottle of water (which was .50 more than the drink) I offered to pay the difference between the two but the people behind the counter couldn't figure out how to do that.. really? Ended up getting two diet Pepsi's and an extra bottle of water. Would be nice to offer nuts or a sugar free/low carb option (for us diabetics).
Larissa Elliott
The Orpheum is a beautiful building and is always a great place to see a show or act from out of town!
Jennifer Fouquet
Very cool place, all decked out in it's 1920's decor! The bathrooms are amazing!
Cliff Richards
It is such a great venue for small groups. We saw BYU Vocal Point which is an Acapella group. Great acoustics in this 100 year old building.
Lielyn Arboladura
Oldie but goodie. Went to see the Jokoy Funny is Funny tour. The balcony is a little to steep. But still a good theater. Could use an update.
Scout1
Fantastic Wichita attraction! It is a special place in our hearts, I proposed to my fiancé in front of the Orpheum under the marquee.
Jason Brabander
Have had the chance to see a few things here. So much fun. Orpheum staff and volunteers are all very friendly and helpful. Can't wait until they get some newer seating though. Projected movie was easy to see, nice and bright. Sound system is good.
Wendy Culp
Tonight was my first experience at The Orpheum Theatre. We saw Ryan Bingham. Great show!! It was a really cool venue and the sound was amazing. However, the best part of my experience was the staff. I am in a wheelchair and every one of the staff went out of their way to make sure I was able to get to my seat, the ADA accessible bathroom, the bar, everything. Thank you for making this a great night for my husband and I.
Scary Starbeing (Stephanie Cary)
Best Show Ever! Let's do the time warp again!
Rebekah Sanchez
Great show nice venue 👌 I have been to multiple shows and no matter where I sit always good view of stage!! …
Christian Trotter
Cool vibe about the building but definitely need to do something about the floor and seating if they are going to keep using it for big crowds. It feels like you're going to continuously fall out of your seat.
Wendi Salyer
Absolutely beautiful! I love that the staff is so knowledgeable and passionate about the history of this building!
slhelper
Nice old theater. Smaller venue brings one closer to the stage. Restrooms were updated with touchless fixtures. Seats are a bit cramped, but this is an old theater.
Dani
I had a great time. The program was excellent, the bathroom spacious enough to accommodate the ladies during the intermission although I did notice a line outside the gents. The seats are smaller than your average movie theater so plan accordingly. Concessions are somewhat limited but they do have alcohol
Melanie Summers
Really neat place but needs some love.
Keith Thompson
Nice place that's being fixed up and at this time looks beautiful
Carey Younkin
Great place for a concert sound was amazing
Scarlett
Very nice old theatre slowly being refurbished as the budget allows. Local performaners and traveling shows both use this facility.
Bathrooms upstairs are stunning and modern. Dressing rooms downstairs are spacious and well lit, be aware of very steep stairs to stage area though (watch your step). Seats downstairs recline slightly and have leg room. Seats upstairs are very tight knee to back and again stairs are steep getting to you seat. If you a bigger person you may want to avoid the balcony seating for comfort reasons. Street parking available with meters, a small lot is behind the theater but it fills fast.
Kevroc
This is one of Wichita's oldest and true and true theaters. It is in need of some repair and hopefully the city will sometime remodel it. This building has tons of history in it the volunteers that work there are extremely friendly and hard working and I would highly recommend you take in a movie or a show here. Last night with Bob Weir was epic.
natasha gilbert
Been here a few times for concerts and always had a blast!!! The seats are angled so you can see the stage. The balcony is a bit high up though.
It’s definitely an older building but it has heart and I respect that.
Rachel M
I've seen several shows and what a treat this building is. Being a "sturdier" gal, the seats are smaller but that's really more my problem, but I've heard that from a few people. I've seen legendary acts that have blown my mind, like when Elvis Costello unplugged and sang to the rafters all alone at the end of the stage. Beautiful, historic, the place is a real treat and the people who work there are great.
Jake Lemen
I love old theaters, and this a nice one, but it looks like it hasn't been maintained very well and is in dire need of a restoration.
Patricia Meshefski
The ambience is terrific. And the overall size makes it feel more intimate with the performer. However, the seats are not the best. It's not so much the seat itself, but the placement. There's no leg room because the seats are so close to the row in front. If new seats are not an option, maybe reconfiguring the seats would be a good compromise. I feel bad for people who are larger or have any sort of disability. This was my first visit to the Orpheum and I would definitely visit again. Thank you!
Maggie Cates
Went to see a movie with my family. It was a fun time. The parking could be better. The seats need to be updated. Before the movie was half over I wanted to leave. But it was a good time, clean, and we got inside with hardly any waiting. It got a little congested at the concession stand and people coming in to the theater, but other than that a nice place to be.
Mitchell Sturdivant
It may look run down but part of the reason is because it is a historical site, and hoops must be jumped through to will on the building.
I will say the acoustics are great for musical acts.
Chuck Haines
Love seeing shows at this place. I just wish they would renovate a few things. I know it's a historic place but many things are in need of repair including the seats and flooring. They are working on it but still needs more work. That being said all the shows I've seen here are awesome. Saw the Oak Ridge Boys recently and they were amazing. Recommend seeing something in here at least once.
Marcia Pike
Other than climbing stairs to use the restroom this is a great old facility. The theater has a close up and personal feeling. They bring in class acts like Chonda Pierce. She was very funny and well worth the ticket price.
Jennifer Boyer
Great concert. Cool venue.
Devlin S
I went to a comedy show here and it was great! I love the rustic look of the theater and all of the staff is nice! sound was clear even though we were wayyyy up in the balcony. Absolutely no leg room so be sure to get an end seat if you are tall or you will be hitting the people in front of you.
Dave Rogers
Always a good time, enjoyed Who's Live Anyways!!!
James Webb
The accoustics are amazing. The staff is exceptional. Saw Need To Breath. Great show. Building does some Reno work to really show it's beauty. View from upper balcony is not that great and seating is horrible if you are over 5 ft tall. Balcony area is not conducive to seniors or people with any kind if disabilities. If I can't get main floor seating then probably won't attend any more events there.
Darla Hammar
Attended the World Premiere of God Save the Wings. Historic theatre to relive the history of Wichita Wings Professional Soccer. I almost didn't go for fear of trying to park & walk in downtown Wichita. We found a spot just few blocks away. Then a short, brisk walk & we were there. No long lines. Because it was a middle age, mature crowd we needed better lighting & signage to know where to go. Saw 3 different people tumble down the stairs, poor lighting. Immediately those around the person helped out. I wouldn't mind a brief education on The Orpheum Theatre before any show or event. Get customers interested in the ongoing preservation of the bldg. I didn't realize the scope of events, shows @ the Orpheum. Eager to return, highly recommend to others.
Angela Curtis
Great looking theatre. Good space in general good sound quality. The balcony has tiny seats way too close together. If you are tall/long legged/have a big butt you are going to be uncomfortable even with an aisle seat.
Lori Beeson
Seats in the balcony are too close together. You are almost sitting on top of your neighbor. It was too hot inside and they wont install an elevator for those who have trouble with stairs. I enjoyed the show but not the venue.
Derek Day
This is a very cool, old, restored theater. All the decorations and the layout is time-period correct. It has a great atmosphere!
Time is not always on its side however. The seats are horrible. They are the old movie style seats where you share BOTH your arm rests. The seats themselves are fairly padded but still somehow not all that comfy. The leg room is very decent however, way more room than you usually get.
Time has also done a number on the floor. It actually flexes in places as you walk over it. This maybe normal for that style of floor but it was a bit concerning to me as I was leaving.
My advise: pull all the chars, put in ones with dual arm rests but put the rows closer together so you can keep the number of seats the same. The arm rests bugged me enough that I'll likely not return unless it's an amazing act. I know this sounds weird but I'm tall (6'6") and it got rather uncomfortable after about 90 minutes.
Keah Benck
I don't mind how worn the building is because I enjoy the history, but they are in need of new seats.
Little Colt
One of the coolest theaters I've ever been in and seeing Steve O live for the first time was magical!
Jason Lewis
I love the charm of this old school theater, we went to see Halestorm perform live there, the show was great, although the steep stadium seats were very tight and not too friendly to people not so stable on their feet. And near the back of the venue where we were sat, it was stifling hot, like the AC wasn't working up there. If you do go to a show, I recommend getting seats on the lower level if at all possible.
Tony Young
Love this place have seen some amazing performances here
Joelle Roach
Saw the Black Jacket Symphony, it was an amazing experience.
Arthur W. Allen
Such an important historical place in Wichita but so sad and need of help and cash! Please someone step forward to save this crumbling masterpiece.
donna talbott
Black jack symphony is really good.
Roxanne Tesar
I attended Tallgrass Film Festival and had the pleasure of watching films at the Orpheum. Only the sound system was found wanting. The decor was absolutely beautiful.
Rob Griffin
Definitely a work in progress and that's not a bad thing. Attended a concert this evening and had a great time. The building shows its age in some aspects, but is renovated where it matters most, clean lobby and restrooms. Our seats were in the balcony and we had a great view of the stage. Looking forward to attending future events at The Orpheum.
Mk Epperly
Great old venue. There's not a bad seat in the house. The theatre is a work in progress before its perfect but I have a soft spot for the place. 50+ years ago you night have found my green Schwinn StingRay locked to the stoplight pole with me inside watching a John Wayne movie.
Derek Purcell
Very fun, great atmosphere. The place is very dated, but that could be the look they're going for. Any way you look at it, it's a fun place to take in a show. The area around the auditorium is like stepping back in time.
Alex Smith
The Theatre over all was pretty nice. I liked the design. I sat in the balcony for my show and was very disappointed by the seats. I am a petite 5'1 woman and my legs were very cramped. There is no leg room. I would not recommend sitting in the balcony.
Brian McAlister
Great, an bob Saget tonight, was an awesome show. If you have never been here, go, is an awesome venue. Highly recommend
Robyn
Love the entertainment. Love the old, historic ambiance of the theater. However I hate absolutely hate the old seating. The chairs pretty much you're sitting on a bar on the back so it's like your tailbone is on a bar there are the most uncomfortable seats in Wichita.
Dana Wright
This is a historic theater still raising funds for restoration. Something to keep in mind when attending events here. The snack bar is in a very small foyer so it is maneuver through the crowd to get to the theater. The restrooms are on the 2nd floor. I do appreciate the beauty of this 100+year old theatre and hope they can raise funds soon to finish the restoration.
Did enjoy getting to see John Cusack at my last event I attended there.
On a fun note, my great grandpa saw Houdini perform there. A theatre with a great history.
Kimberly Harrison
Seen Rob Schneider here tonight and Orpheum never disappoints!
Alan Schmidt
We went to see Three Dog Night however there was a warm at band that we would have rather not seen followed by a 30-minute break. We were sitting in the upper balcony and the sound was overwhelming to the point of not being able to hear because it was too loud. Three dog night was outstanding and we did enjoy their music. We would rather not have a warm-up band and also keep the volume at a reasonable level.
Henry Witt
Went to see Theo Von, Amazing venue.
Cherie Hodges
I love coming to see this place. The architectural design is mind boggling, not to mention historic. Still has lots of restoration work to be done but, it's coming along. The shows are great too!
Jeanette Clement
Sadly this historic and iconic Wichita landmark is falling into such a great disrepair. I am always taken aback by how gorgeous the interior could be and love the feel of the history that it represents. However, it is falling apart, the seats are so uncomfortable and it has a layer and f filth that covers everything. I want to love it.
Mike Gisick
Always a great show. A Wichita Treasure.
life with Rachel
This is a nice place to watch plays
Jeremy Biltz
The first show as the Orpheum opened back up was great. Social distancing was enforced. Quick service at the bar. Overall a great experience.
Clyde Tav
Went to see Paula Poundstone, great show.
The only complaint I have on the theater restoration is that it is proceeding so slowly.
Wish they would put in new seating with wider more comfortable seats.
EagleTurtle Yarnell
3 Dog Night at the Orpheum... This is my favorite venue. Small enough for every seat to be outstanding... Convenient enough for a short walk into the venue... Beautiful decor. Always enjoy historical preservation in architecture. celebrate Wichita Old Town.
Joe Noga
Beautiful venture built in the early 1920 s, I think. They are in the restoration process and doing a great job. The event staff was super friendly and knowledgeable! This place is a good reminder of what was and a good reminder of what can be...the potential...in all of us!
M C
Cool, historic place. Not surprising that it's not super spacious, but if I could see any musician or comedian in Wichita, I'd choose the Orpheum.
DOOD J
A very cool, century old Vaudevillian theater with much of it's original equipment and decor. I've been attending shows, concerts, acts and events here since I was a kid. I'm always happy to hear it's so active, I'm always happy to see the acts that love performing there and I'm always happy to come back. Old theaters somehow just add to the experience of a good show. Brian Setzer's live set here years ago was awesome, the old movies they show have a great feel, and last night The Mads brought live entertainment, personal interaction and laughter back through 100 years after it began the very same way. Keep it coming!
Ryan W. Gates
The Orpheum is so cool...but the seats suck. I cannot wait for the renovation, once the seats have been updated I'll be buying tickets to all the shows and events there. Right now I mostly keep to Tallgrass Film Festival. This building is an icon of Wichita we need to renovate and preserve.
RJ Johnson
Came here for the first time to see Diana Krall, and the show was amazing! Although the seats got so uncomfortable right when the encore started I desperately wanted to go home. Renovations are needed but the place is lovely and historical I know.
Clayton Handy
The overall experience of the show was great. The only complaint is that the seats where super close together. Other than that concession where every cheap. Like a large soda is only $3. Very cheap. Cheaper than going to the movie theater.
Steve Speck
Great venue. Beautiful place.
Kenneth Amaya
Wonderful beautiful classic theater, bar equipment, the restrooms are beautiful staff are friendly.
Ashley Brinker
The building could use a face-lift. My husband and I have visited similar places in other cities and were sadly disappointed but the disrepair of The Orpheum.
Donald Foulk
It is hard to believe this was the first time I have been here.
It was a wonderful experience and has an amazing feel to the venue.
Justin Woodruff
Currently undergoing restorations, but a fantastic venue. Old architecture and period photos give a glimpse into its history as a Wichita landmark. It hosts film festivals, concerts, stand-up comedy, and other stage productions. There is a parking lot to the north and several other lots nearby so access to and from is pretty easy.
Peggy H
The show great, staff great. Seating needs replaced and flooring. My seat was front row it was sad the condition of the seats.
Andy Debes
We recently saw the Breeders. AWESOME show! If you are going definately spring for lower level seats. We sat in the balcony for Eddie Izzard a year or so ago and those seats are small and close togoether... I'm 6'2" and a bigger guy, but was plenty comfortable during the Breeders show... about 5 rows back .
Bruce McQuillen
Went here for the Sebastian Maniscalco show. The theatre is a wonderful old theatre with a ton of history. It's a beautiful place. Great venue for an awesome comedian like Sebastian.
Linda Brown
The venue is being remodeled and hopefully it will be finished soon
That being said. The performance of Under the Streelamps was amazing
Lisa johnston
Historic opulence is the first thing you notice. You will have a grand time in this grand theater. The seats could be softer, and leg room in balcony seats is a little minimal . But everything else is grand.
Mike Mcconnell
ABBA Mania concert was fantastic. Great theater. Wichita needs to get behind its renovation
Stephanie Dechant
Love this theater! They have many AWESOME events from showings of older films (recently saw Carrie and Willy Wonka with a friend, we had a great time!) to great concerts (saw BareNaked Ladies) comedians (Lewis Black, Brian Regan, etc...) and book events in conjunction with Watermark Books (Alton Brown's cookbook signing). They've always been well managed and everything goes smoothly, even when they have challenges with the aging building, but it's a beautiful building worth restoring as a Wichita Landmark!
Chris Brooks
The Orpheum is a work in progress, a pleasant one bringing class acts in to perform. I recently saw Mary Chapin Carpenter, Chris Isaac, and Gordon Lightfoot there, all for moderate ticket prices. Sound is good, lighting fine. Some seats are still barely comfortable and offer limited leg room. That's the "in progress" aspect of The Orpheum. It deserves a chance to improve on an already impressive resume.
Lee Knaus
Excellent place in downtown and a beautiful atmosphere. Love going there
Nicholas Holder
We caught the midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It was a blast!
They had goody/prop bags for $5 with all the typical noise makers, confetti/glitter, water pistols, etc. that go with the show.
Plenty of people dressed in costume or drag. And some had plenty to shout out at the screen. 😳😏😉 Nobody took themselves or the movie too seriously, or turned into a spoilsport.
We only had one minor glitch and that was with Select-A-Seat, not The Orpheum. We ordered tickets three weeks in advance and requested they be mailed to our address. They never arrived but two days prior to the show I simply called and they noted my account so tickets would be ready at the will call window. Problem solved.
Never dissatisfied…or unsatisfied attending The Orpheum. Thank you!
Suzanne Ioerger
This is the best place for up close and personal contact with the performers! The atmosphere is beautiful and the people who set up the entertainment here are very nice! One of the best Entertainment places in Wichita , Kansas!
Georgetta clark
Wonderful place to go if you just wanting to have a a quiet night out on the town perfect place to come and enjoy a show
Scott Marcum
Great piece of nastalgia. Love their retro/classic movie series. This is not the Warren. No stadium seating, no THX sound and no digital projection, just the look and feel of an old - but classy theater.
Adriana Fisher
Beautiful theater to see such a fun show! And the concessions really are reasonably priced!
Kimi Dowling
Great location, loved it for the concert I went to, to see Johnnyswim.
Scott Wise
Great little venue for seeing one of my favorite artists.
Jeremy Mirarck
Great old Theater w/ many years of use & probably stories to tell. Only drawback is the seats were certainly designed for people living a century ago... not for the candy-@ss.
patricia haskins
Lots of parking within a short walking distance.
John Cartland
Great venue for live music
Sandy Flinn
Way to top was hard for me to get to and seats are small and maybe my age, but couldn't hear. Next time will spend more and get a lower seat.
Edgar Delgadillo
The inside is so cool and original. Plus. Everyone that worked the Steve-o event tonight was awesome.
C.B. Patterson
Love to support local venues that attract great entertainment
iSeries Fixer
They just don't make them like this anymore. The theater most have been spectacular to see in its prime. Once the inside is restored, oh my, this will be a Jewel in Downtown Wichita.
Jason Ramsey
Beautiful setting to go see a show. The history is amazing, and they have lots of very cool acts in many different genres. Not a bad seat in the house.
Ashley Heberly
Old style theatre. Lots of seating. Drinks and food are normal price. Neat looking inside. Decently clean. Nice staff!
Janie Gleason
Awesome ad usual!! Love that place!!
Jess Reynolds
Old but a classic theater. Little nervous someone would fall off the balcony since there were no safety features to prevent this but otherwise a great theater still. Needs some work but everything is there still for great producions!
Leah Perry
What can I say? The Mads came! What a dream come true! I really really really hope they can come again! So awesome! Thanks to the Mads for coming, and thanks to the Orpheum for bringing them here!
I also like the classic film series. Princess Bride was the best!
They show something for everyone here. Check it out!
Tamra Magner
If I could give more stars, I would. Had the best time and evey employee I dealt with was exceptionally friendly and helpful! Great experience alllll the way around.
Clifton Brown
Went AND SAW ABBA MANIA. IT WAS A GOOD SHOW. I THINK THEY HAD 2 NEW GIRLS SINGING. IF SO SOMEONE LET ME KNOW. THANKS!!!!!!
Shea Z
The Orpheum is a cool old school theater! Intimate enough that all seats are good. I'm often impressed at the caliber of acts they are able to get in there.
Joan Ashworth
Love this historic theater! They attract artists such as Jeannie Robertson, Diana Krall, Gordan Lightfoot & Johhny Rivers farewell tour well worth keeping this gem around! Bravo!
Therese Herdler
This beautiful building is the poster-child for "looks can be deceiving" or "don't judge a book by its cover!" I never would have guessed the Orpheum would look so extravagant on the inside! The staff, including security guards, fit the etiquette of this building - professional, friendly, and inviting!! The Orpheum's beautiful design will take you back in time to where it all began!
Arlin Eicher
We had the privilege to see "HOME FREE" live!!! Put it on your bucket list, you won't regret it. There's soooooo much talent going on, y'all!!
#homefree #christmasconcert
robert lund
Staff was courteous and friendly. Our seats were in a great location for Who's Live is it Anyway. The actual seats are terrible. They are incredibly uncomfortable.
Shelly Gunderson
We saw Weird AL there. Good venue. The seats are a bit tight though. You can see well from anywhere. Pretty good sound.
Mike Hays
Cool place for a comedy show could use a bit of touch up and more restoration.
Caralynn McKee
Really cool place, just needs more restoration because she's showing her age. Needs more airflow, gets pretty warm in there with all of the concert stage lighting.
Jeff Mauldin
You are in another time and place when you step through these doors

The staff is friendly, the atmosphere of the old theater is enjoyable.
Katelyn Ashlee
This theatre is very beautiful however it's very cramped and crowded and the seats are so close together you are touching everyone around you. Other than the seats it was a good experience.
tamatha maddox
Always enjoy a classic . This place is perfect to watch movies and have concerts here. Limited on food options. Always has liquor. I enjoy my experience every time I go.
Diana Brown
Such a great place to visit. Love the events there. They had an open bar & pizza which was perfect for our girls night out!
Lisa Wallace-Al-Rukabi
Sad to see the movie theatre of my childhood crumbling and peeling. I don't want another unique architecture torn down and a cookie cutter faceless goes up.
Todd Hansen
Super cool theatre and great ambiance. Friendly staff and super neat architecture. A nice place of Wichita history to visit.
Rianna Tibbets
Always a good time at the Orpheum. Drink prices are reasonable. Seats could be more comfortable but you are only there for an hour or so.
Carlos Benjamin
Amazing art-deco theater but somewhat dilapidated still. Hopefully they’ll be able to continue with restorations, because it truly is a thing of beauty.
Kendra Nguyen
Fantastic theater and amazing staff and volunteers! They are incredibly involved within the community and a staple for art in culture in Wichita!
Jeremy Burris
Great place to see shows but seats are a little small and they need to fix all the little broken pieced by the stage. Get a 3d printer and you could knock that out in a day.
Kenny Schmidt
Great concert, friendly and helpful staff, very clean. Still working on renovations. Very nice and elegant
Thomas Sutter
The owners have a dream to renovate The Orpheum to it's former glory. However, they don't seem to be moving very much. It takes money, I know. But there doesn't seem to be any progress at all.
David Rutschman
Awesome Venue for basically anything!
Frank Woodman Jr
Great place if you like seeing the old theaters and such. Still a lot of restoration work to be done but a grand old building.
