Reviews of Straz Center for the Performing Arts
We were able to catch Hamilton here! It was canceled in our SWFL area, so we decided to make the trip to Tampa to see it. The show was great, kids really enjoyed their first theater experience. We sat in the balcony section, and honestly I don't feel this place has a bad seat in the house. My only complaint is that the seats feel like they were designed for little people. I'm talking kid size. The width of the chairs seem okay but a little more height and leg room would have made the experience feel a little more comfortable. Thank goodness for intermissions. The bathrooms were clean, but if you have a packed house, expect to wait in a very long ladies line. The men's line moves a lot quicker. Drink lines moved fairly quickly as well.
The Straz Theater is beautiful! The performances I have seen have been really good. I love live Theater Performances, just Amazing! It sits On the River, and a wonderful place to go for a walk after the show. great parking, easy place to go to. If you have not seen a live Theater Performance you definitely need to check this place out. It’s In Tampa in the middle of everything and easy to get to and from the intestate. A lot of restaurants and Entertainment all around the area, Minutes away from the Hockey Arena and the Tampa Convention center, and the Riverwalk area as well. Good location and a lot of stuff to do downtown!
Hamilton was was superb. Our seats were on the Mezzanine. Unfortunately, the sound wasn't the best at times. The location is beautiful- on the river. There is a nice restaurant on site.
I would recommend using the valet for parking.
We had a wonderful experience watching Little Shop of Horrors. The theater was small but all the seats had perfect views of the stage. The actors very fantastic, BRAVO!!
This theater is great acoustically and well laid out! Even tickets in the upper galleries feel as if you are in an intimate setting! We go every year around Christmas and we've seen The Nutcracker, Wicked, The Lion King, The Dance Theater of Harlem, and just saw Hamilton and it never disappoints!!
I was at Water Works Park which is a part of the Starz Center. Listened to good music, overlooking the river, nice breeze, plenty of seating and watch people passed by. All was awesome and a perfect Friday. Oh it was a free concert!!!
Long review ahead loll,
I've lived in the Bay area for over 20 years and this is the 1st time I've been able to go to any sort of show at the Straz center and I gotta say it really was an experience. The cast was all very talented although there were a couple of instances where they don't enunciate super clearly but that also could just be that my hearing kind of sucks since I also found their voices get drowned out a bit by the chorus or the music playing behind them. But the main cast almost always shines through very clearly and they obviously choose the most talented people to take the leads which is amazing. That's not to undermine the Background dancers/characters because during the Hamilton show that I saw they did such an excellent job it was outrageous. Specifically the scene where they rewound time to show another perspective from a different sister's point of view was absolutely insane and I remember audibly gasping.
As for the theater itself- the actual building is 4 or 5 stories high and is absolutely beautiful. It well kept and felt fancy although a bit small. The outside area with the canopy have these beautiful lights that blew me away since it was raining when we got out so it glowed. It really did feel like you were walking out of a Broadway show. They do have elevators but between shows I feel like the building feels very narrow and all of the people storming out trying to get to concessions is almost impossible to fight through and makes trying to get on one almost as hard as getting out of the parking garage haha. I did manage to make it through concessions with like 2 minutes to spare and all I got was a water ($3-$4) but all in all the building really is beautiful and made things feel a little more worth the price.
They do offer merchandise for the show you're seeing but tbh alot of the Hamilton stuff felt like things I could have gotten 80% cheaper off amazon... I felt I had to get a tshirt (40$) to remember the night but I was a little sad to see they didnt have the showing dates on the back of it since that would have made it more worth it... but yeah keep in mind the prices are super high once in the building and if you're giving tickets as a gift maybe also give a peice of merch with it to save some coin or also get food before or after the show outside the building. The straz is in downtown tampa so if you're willing to walk or sightsee you might be able to get good food for cheaper elsewhere.
Also!! A note on what to wear!! The center site says to wear whats most comfortable but I will say the crowd seemed to be wearing mostly dresses, suits, polos, or nice tops and dress pants. The only people who seemed dressed 'down' were teens and one or two young adults so keep that in mind if you're someone who gets nervous feeling under dressed. I wore a turtle neck and black shorts and felt ok :)
Anyways 10/10 would recommend 👌
Multi purpose venue. As we were enjoying a concert, they were able to have a large graduation in a different area.
The accommodations were good, sounds, light and atmosphere
Tonight was the opening night of the 2022-23 Florida Orchestra Season. It was a truly magical performance made even better by the talented vocalists of the Master Chorale of Tampa and the charming commentary of Conductor Michael Francis. A roller coaster of musical emotion felt by all in attendance.
Went there last night with my husband to celebrate my birthday we had front row seats for Hamilton and the show was amazing we will definitely return for more memorable moments ❤
Amazing Talent and Music Coordination with the movie: Dirty Dancing .... This is a must see and get the balcony tix too!
Beautiful venue. Comfortable and spacious seats. First time visiting for Hamilton, but I'll be back!
Really, really nice venue. Seats were excellent, roomy and comfortable. Need more ladies restrooms as the lines were so long that the show started again while people were still in line. Songs we're recognizable but some lyrics were not clear enough to understand.
It was a super special experience going to see The Nutcracker with my son and granddaughter! Great seats, amazing performance!
First time visiting the theater here, and was delighted with the small but airy three tiered venue. Not a bad seat in the house, and the show was absolutely delightful. Definitely would benefit with at least one extra bathroom, considering the lines at intermission and the end, but since I can't imagine where they could put it I decided not to deduct a star.
This was my first experience seeing a play at the Straz Center. The play was well done regarding acting, costumes and overall aesthetics. I really liked the modern touch, adding in the genre of hip hop, loved how upbeat it was! The actors are very talented, it was as if you were watching a movie. The reason I am giving Hamilton three stars is because of the language. This play would not be suitable for younger children. I was surprised that they chose to take the Lords name in vain several times throughout the play, that was disappointing and not needed at all. So for this reason I am giving this play three stars due to language.
Immaculate, on the inside and out. The premier place to see a musical in the Tampa Bay area .
The food and drink are high-end (and a bit pricey) but the quality is there.
The Main theater has great acoustics and is very large. An upgrade for the seats would be nice though
We visited the Straz Center to see the 80’s concert. The performance was awesome and the staff was very knowledgeable. The theater is clean and the sound was amazing.
Outstanding! I love thisndesign soacenwith multiple halls for entertainment. Has a touch of elegance. Would be more beneficial if at least a half soshi screen wall would separate the diners from the general public in the open dining area
Awesome theater experience. Loved the show, the staff, and the location.
#DRDERISE
The staff was amazing! As one of the performers, I was very well looked after. Lori Ann took great care of us. The theater was beautiful and the dressing rooms were very comfortable.
A wonderful venue. Great shows, courteous staff. I can't think of a better way to spend a night out.
Went to the first performance of my new season ticket: Nunsense. A rather good show - tons of laughs and lots of fun music. I didn't have to park, but I think there is plenty nearby. It was in the Jaeb Theater (the smallest one) with tables very close to the stage, and two levels of balcony about 50 feet from the stage - there are no bad seats. I can't wait for the next show!
Very nice venue. My husband and I went to see Hamilton. Even though we had balcony seats, we had no trouble seeing the stage. Also, there is a restaurant and concession areas onsite where you can buy food and drinks.
One of the best theaters in Florida!! Great for any of the touring Broadway shows. Have seen shows here and in Orlando at the Dr. Phillips Center and Straz Center has the better acoustics all around. Definitely better views from anywhere and you can actually hear these shows - even from the balcony. We currently drive the hour+ from Orlando to see shows here!
The staff is so friendly, the views of the Hillsborough River are incredible, nearby dining options are great for pre-show meals, and access to I-275 is so simple!! This is the place to see a show!!
Randomly popped in for a spontaneous concert, The Ojay’s and The Manhattans were performing. Staff was great, very professional. The venue was phenomenal, you had a good view no matter where you sat and it’s right on the Riverbank. Perfect area to walk around pre and post show.
The Straz center is phenomenal, my partner and I couldn't get seats together at first and the staff worked really hard to put us together and even have us front row seats to make up for it. The staff is amazing and so courteous I can't wait to go back again!
Had the most amazing time watching Hamilton with my wife and friends! Worthy of standing ovation!
I'm loving the shows at the Jaeb! Wonderful productions with very talented people! Drinks are now allowed inside and masks are not mandatory (Sep 2022).
This is a nice place to catch different kinds of shows in a variety of hall sizes. It's busy and bustling inside with plenty of options for drinks and snacks. They also have a restaurant there that's open before performances.
Excellent place to watch a good show. The only complain is about the parking lot building. We bought tickets online, parking lot included. But when we were trying to validate parking lot ticket, instructions weren't clear enough. So, the tickets machine charged us $10. We payed expecting to get a reimbursement later, but when we went back after the show, we read that if you overpay they not reimburse your money.
Had the pleasure of enjoying dirty Dancing. Excellent seats, excellent show.
Did valet parking for $20 handicap. Way worth it. Right by entrance.
Beautiful theater
It's the best place to go see a show. All levels...large productions to intimate settings, on the water options for food and drinks. Convenient parking lots all around the center. Enjoy!
My wife and I enjoyed seeing Hamilton, sadly the lines for Diet Coke as well as alcohol hardly moved and were very slow and even if you were able to get in line at the beginning of the intermission, I barely got halfway to the concession before I had to go back in to see the performance that I paid for it. I would like to think they would have more locations to overcharge for 2 oz of wine, a 12 oz bottle of soda or various alcohols and beers.
This is a great place to see many different types of live events. It has 2 large theaters with great seating options at different prices. The only down side is the line for the bathrooms and bars.
This place is simply amazing! It was my 1st time there when I saw Hamilton (which was absolutely incredible!) And certainly won't be my last! Looking forward to MANY future shows!
The sound mix needed work for each band that played, so it could have been more enjoyable if they sounded better, and the rows in the orchestra section are entirely too close together. But, overall clean and friendly staff.
The gallery water fountains near gallery 3 dispensed YELLOW water. Disgusting! The play was excellent, and the bathrooms were clean, but they need to fix that plumbing! 2 hours with no water is too much!
They make it very difficult to impulse purchase tickets. I wish you could walk up to the box office on a weekday, see all the shows for that weekend, and buy a ticket (movie theater). Instead you are forced to use the website to view current shows and times. I feel they are missing out sales to younger generations.
A great place. Acoustics lighting and design are all fantastic and made with the theater goer in mind. Two very big thumbs up!
Ok, excellent. Just go sometime, esp if it's to see Hamilton. Seriously,
Very nice place! White coat ceremony for SFU school of medicine!
Went to see Hamilton! First time seeing the play, second time at performing arts center. Nice venue and seems to always have a great selection of plays/shows.
Great shows here. The Broadway series in usually really good. They also host the Florida Orchestra and lots of other shows.
I went to see the Nutcracker this month and it was fantastic! The staff was friendly and there wasn't a bad seat in the house. Will be returning soon for another show!
Beautiful building, inside & out. Came to see Hamilton on NYE, only complaint & reason for 4 star rating was the speed of bar services & bathroom options. Bathroom lines during intermission were really unacceptable, most of the options are single use...so lines really stack up quick.
the physical facilitiy, the sound. seating comfort. lighting. snacks and beverages all combined with a top notch production of Hamiliton. First experience. I will return. P.S. born and raised on Broadway and off- Broadway theater ( my home town). Tampa deserves kudos for creating this theatre didtrict.
Saw Hamilton here. Big theater but good line of sight everywhere and good sound system. Valet parking unexpectedly popular and efficient.
Really neat venue. I attended a play that was put on by the local casting company. The seats in the balcony were not my favourite, but they were not terribly uncomfortable.
Premier venue for shows in Tampa. Many theaters allow for presentations of varying scale at the same complex. Very accessible and in a beautiful setting.
Always a great time seeing performances at The Straz!
Great show! The Straz is top notch!
We were in Balcony 2. It was hard to understand a lot of the lyrics of Hamilton. Don't know if it was the acoustics or microphones. Staffing was good.
Great Hamilton performance at the Straz. Lots of restaurants close by to eat prior to a performance. Parking was easy too.
Love this Venue. Very clean. Chairs are comfortable. The location is great and parking garage are very close. Looking forward to attending more events here.
Excellent acoustics, Great views from almost any seat. Staff is super friendly and very helpful.
I didn't really visit the Straz. I ate at the little sandwich place on my walk along the Riverwalk. That was really good.
Well laid out, spacious place. All of the amenities close by, most outdoors. Close, reasonably priced parking. Beautiful surroundings.
The Hamilton play was amazing! It was my first visit and the Straz Center did not disappoint.
I truly enjoyed my visit to the River Walk...the attention to details to please the eyes were truly well done...it was clean and scenic by most standards....the only issue, which is big, is the bathroom issue ...the lack of them depending on where you are on the walk...but I will be back....
I love the Broadway shows. Thank you Straz for bringing these shows to Tampa. And the Straz is a lovely venue.
Frozen was awesome! The sets and special effects were amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
The Straz is THE premier theater in Tampa Bay with the Jaeb, Morsani and Ferguson Theaters being the ones we frequent the most since it opened in 1987. In fact, we bought the Broadway series that year just so we could see CATS. We have loved most of the shows that we have seen in these theaters, especially the Broadway shows. Even in the nose bleed section (all the way at the top) for TOMMY, we enjoyed the show.
At Tuesday’s 7:30 DEAR EVAN HANSEN show, on 2/1/22, approaching the entrance to the theater, I was asked for a negative CoVid test or my vaccination card (this is what I had). I also walked through a metal detector and screening (my pulse was looked into). In my seat, I sat next to a chatty gentleman on my left and 10 empty seats to my right. He was attentive during the show, but after intermission I chose to sit in one of the empty seats next to me. I could see better. This show was fantastic! Of the 8 parts, four were played by understudies, and all 8 players were phenomenal.
The educational programs are first rate, and heavily attended. The Center also has an app for enhanced listening in Morsani Hall for the hearing impaired. Upon request, the visually impaired can request audio description and use the same app in the Morsani. I believe this feature is only available n this hall for the Broadway Series, for the Saturday 2PM show. It would be nice to know if it is offered for other shows or in the other theaters.
All of the staff, especially the theater ushers, are amazing. They are friendly, accommodating, and pleasant. Water is permitted in Morsani Hall ($3 for a bottle of Dasani), but no other food or beverages are permitted at this time (2/1/22). I believe the Jaeb has more relaxed rules in place since they have tables and chairs, and for past shows they have sold alcohol and soft drinks. We watched SPAMILTON in this theater twice! It was so good.
The parking is the worst part of attending shows at the Straz. THAT is why I am giving 4 stars instead of 5. In the past 35 years, condos, apartment buildings, and hotels have replaced ground parking which was convenient and fairly priced. The Poe Garage used to have a walking bridge to the Straz that gave walkers covering if it rained. Now, you must bring an umbrella or wear a raincoat. Valet parking and self-parking on site is also diminished. With all of the road work in the area, driving to and from can also be hazardous.
Love this place! Can’t wait until the shows start back up this fall. It’s been way too long.
Took The Girl's To See Their FIRST Show
Frozen and It WS Amazing.
The Girl's Were In Awwww....
The Set Were Absolutely Beautiful and The Snow & The Ice 🧊 Comeing From Elsa Was Amazing !!! .Wicked The Girl's Said Is Next

THEY ARE PROVEN TO NOT WK !!!
Fallow The Science !!!
We DIDN'T Wear Them & Won't !!!
Pretty Woman was great one of my favorite movies brought to life. They did put a twist on it in a few spots but still loved it. We would love to see it again with the original girl playing Vivian. We had the understudy playing her for the first full show. We were told that half way through Friday nights performance she had to take over, but I don't know why. The other great news is you can bring drinks into the theater again it has all gone back to normal and I am so happy about that. Now what they need next is some good restaurants. My wife and I have only found one restaurant that we like, wish it was like downtown Sarasota there are lots of good places to eat.
Great place, the valet parking is too small and it takes long to get the keys back, but I definitely will come back
While I prefer a more traditional Broadway theater to see musicals, acoustically, this is a great place to see a show
Best live show performances! Perfect audio and overall sound quality! Great customer service! Employees really go above and beyond to help in any way possible! I have seen many Broadway shows and I have had multiple season passes! I recently saw two different top notch comedians. No complaints! Great venue!
Easy to get in and out of the venue. Multiple parking garages nearby. Super helpful staff and you can enjoy beverages in theater.
Very modern theater. The Frozen show was perfect. Nice atmosphere and comfortable.
Had a great time at Taste of the Straz! As always. Glad to see it back after the 2 year hiatus
The area is under construction but the place is amazing with the riverwalk going across it. It is beautiful
Just saw the Hamilton show it was pretty awesome. Not really a bad seat in the house just some further away than others. The hall has great sound.
finally there are some restaurants nearby where you can park and walk without paying for parking
The shows are wonderful. Jessica the manager of the parking really has her valet staff on a great rotation.
Omg ! Best place ever in ALL of Tampa Bay to see a performance !! I quite liked seeing Nunsense A-MEN the musical last night with my parents !! The show was entertaining with audiance participation , and our seats were perfect !! Yep , I LOVE the Straz Center in downtown Tampa , FL. 5 Stars ALL the way !!!!!
Overall great service and decent looking place. However, if you have wide hips like me you will find that the chairs uncomfortable. It made it difficult to stay focused on the show.
Great place to see the Broadway shows. Coming from NY, I love that! Easy parking and a restaurant on site to dine in before your show.
What an awesome performance of Hamilton! Wonderful staff, who go above and beyond.
It was amazing performance and I can’t wait to go again 😊and there I am watching Tina …
Awesome place for the performing arts. Tampa’s Premier place to go to see a Broadway show or a play or just any of the arts… Top notch a must visit if you’re in town
Space is clean, seats are very comfortable, the teather is well designed and equipped to makes you enjoy an unforgettable moment with any performance.
Always an excellent experience! Best shows in the biz!
Great venue with great staff. Been here for musicals and a Janet Jackson concert. Great space.
Great event location with some really great shows.
Great seats! Friendly, helpful staff.
The venue and the show were AMAZING. Will definitely be going back and I recommend Avenue Q to EVERYONE!
This was our first time. The hall is impressive with very nice acoustics.
Great experiences. There’s always something going on. From theatrical events to musicals to business meetings the Straz Center is used for all kinds of entertainment.
The center itself was great and beautiful. Since it was located on Tampa downtown, riverside of Hillsborough River, its outside area offers a fantastic atmosphere with an excellent view. The restroom is quite small and old, though. People can find free street parking somewhere nearby and walk to the center or valet. The Margherita was not too good. During the Intermission, there was almost nothing to do but buying the souvenir, having a snack, and chatting around. Good news is there was strong and free Wifi signal throughout the theater. The concert I purchased the ticket for was The Phantom of the Opera: North America Tour, which sadly was a disappointment - looks good (visual effect) but did not sound right (the orchestra was not full size and I have listened to higher singing voice). The falling chandelier was dropped slowly above the customers.
A great place to go for performances! The staff was wonderful and seats were comfortable. Had a great time there!
I went to see my sister perform here. The staff was very nice and helpful. She performance was amazing! Couldn't have been a better place for her to perform.
Saw "Dracula" by Jobsite Theater @ The Jaeb. It was amazing. And the staff was beyond friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back!
So fun to see shows there, some can be pretty pricey though depending on their popularity. I've heard that their classes are greaft too, but again pretty pricey.
Had a great time seeing a show here, the staff was very courteous & the ushers were magnificent.
Went to the Jaeb theater, all seats are great. We saw Dracula, very good show.
I do dance there if your considering putting your child in the dance program here it really is one of the best in the Bay area
There's no bad seat in the theater, and the performance was incredible. I highly recommend the Straz.
Nice atmosphere, treats , a place to eat on the property, clean bathroom, lots of choices of entertainment
The staff was great and very helpful. Beautiful place and many different venues available.
Parking can be a little crazy at the nearby garages but the venue itself is great
Hamilton was the greatest show I have ever seen. Spectacular delivery......amazing talent.
This was our first time to the starz theater. The personnel was very friendly and helpuful. The play was great. We got tickets where the tables are at and it we regretted it. It was so crowded. If there was an emergency that area is a hazard. Too many people confined in a small area. We had 2 young ladies sitting in our table and they had to turn there sit around in order to see the play. They barely had space to stretch their legs in front so they kept pushing on the table. We did moved the table a little back but their was a stoop behind us that wouldn't allow us to move any further. One of the young ladies kept pushing back to stretch her legs and we were afraid that she would spill our drinks on us. Also if we try to use the bathroom there was literally no way to get out. I think if we ever go back we would definitely not purchase tickets where the tables are at.That area is uncomfortably crowded and also makes it hard for shorter people to enjoy the play.
We went to go see 'The Little Shop of Horrors' awhile ago and had a blast! It was my first time attending the Straz Center and hopefully will be able to go again soon. I do wish that they had more small eateries attached to the building. We were only able to find a small bakery/coffee shop.
First time at the Straz Center to listen, and enjoy the Florida Ochestra play John Williams scores from Star Wars. Heck, Han Solo was on trombone and ObiWan plays keys!
I have enjoyed every performance at the Straz theaters so far. Quality stuff!
Went and saw Cats today. The performance was awesome. The theater is huge, and our seats were excellent!!!
My Fair Lady was excellent. The seats could not have been more uncomfortable
Great location. Very helpful courtesy staff! Great musical of Hamilton!
A great venue for smaller concerts. Elegant and most seats are great.
Wonderful theater venue in a lovely setting along Tampa's River Walk and Hillsborough River. Several dining options.
A friend and I went to go see hundred days at jaeb. Such an amazing theater! It is so cute and fun! We got our table to ourselves and it was so nice to be able to adjust and move without having to worry about bumping others or something. Totally recommend seeing a show at this theater purely for the experience!
Great place very accommodating. Good restaurant and cafe also for before the show.
The show was fabulous!
Really loved the history of the building really nice.
Hamilton was an amazing show. The girls absolutely enjoyed the experience. The sandwiches were surprisingly delicious. We were sad we couldn’t finish them and had to toss them before going in. Get there early to enjoy the food! Hamilton as a show so so great. Wonderful weekend activity.
The Phantom of the Opera was awesome. This is a beautiful hall. The staff was very professional and helpful.
We thoroughly enjoyed the evening! Everyone was kind and helpful from the security guard out front to the ladies that bid us goodnight. The size of the theater is perfect. It made it seem more intimate and cozy than it was. Definitely 5 stars!
The Stars and Stripes presentation in the Ferguson theater from the Florida Orchestra was fabulous. The director was also excellent, he made the audience participate and was comical. We had an excellent night. This show on Memorial weekend was perfect.
Saw Phantom of the Opera here and it was absolutely PHENOMENAL. Excellent venue.
Fantastic shows. There are no bad seats. Even sitting in the very last row on the topmost level, I've had an excellent view.
I hated the check in , but as a transplant patient I was able enjoy an amazing show with some semblance of safety in this crazy Covid world
Was awesome!! Absolutely loved it . Charming at the very least . So much talent on stage!
It's such a pretty theatre!
Loved it. The venue is beautiful. The staff was congenial and fun to interact with and the show was fabulous!!!
Wonderful show and helpful staff. We asked about greeting the musicians after the show and found the answer. Well later out floor plan with easily accessible bathrooms. The main theater is beautiful and modern. Have seen multiple shows here from kids performances to Broadway. Sits are slightly stiff in the upright position but it's not a movie theater. Have enjoyed every experience.
Great location. Plenty of public paid parking close by. Awesome performances. Friendly staff.
My daughter had such a good time at Pal Partol live. Made some awesome memories
Just the best! That's all I have to say. Your expectations will be exceeded.
Great place to enjoy a show. Beautiful.
Wonderful place to see live entertainment. Beautiful theater and every seat has a good view of the stage.
The Straz does a great job putting on productions, and we always enjoy the selections. The theater is always clean, and the staff is always friendly. We appreciate the valet parking, too. It is way easier than finding parking in the garage.
Beautiful location and love to see performances there
Not a bad seat in the house! They are not the most comfortable seats, but that has never mattered.
It’s a great place to see a show. There’s a lot of variety from plays, music, to standup comedy.
We have been there several times and had a wonderful time every time. This time for Fiddler on the roof. We got there early so we could enjoy the entertainment on the outside stage. STRAZ thought of everything. Tables, chairs, drinks and entertainment. There's an army of guides inside to help you anyway you might need. The show was in the large theater (2600 comfortable seats) there are no bad seats. There are 3 additional smaller theaters in the complex. Everything went perfectly. If you have the opportunity to go to a play at the Straz i recommend you do so.
Great venue, helpful staff, fantastic performances. Can't go wrong at the Straz
The great time going to a Home Free concert here
The Straz Center for Performing Arts is awesome! It was our second show at the Morsani Theater, a delightful performance of the all time favorite Broadway musical, My Fair Lady!
Very nice venue for a NovaSoutheastern Medical school white coat ceremony. Good hospitality staff working. Everything was orderly and coordinated.
Broadway play of Frozen we saw tonight and I have to say it was awesome. The scenery, the cast and their voices were fantastic. This is a play all just see. There was a mix crowd, many adults alone, some kids, and many young adults.
Donated more this year knowing how tough it was for the performers. I was never offered season tickets as I had been before ,(been a donor since 2018 so I have history) even after I called to buy Wicked tickets for 2023, successfully. I know everyone is suffering and challenged during these times. Just want to pay and enjoy this beautiful venue that I have tried to support the best I can.
Any evening at the Straz will truly be magical. There isn’t a bad seat, everyone is excited and happy, the energy is so good, and it’s truly almost impossible to be unhappy here. The Straz offers something for anyone and everyone. The staff is really great at what they do…I mean everyone! The performers, composers, and musicians are amazing each time. The Straz is a must.
Love this place. Went to see Rocktopia, great venue for concerts. Very comfortable seating in the orchestra pit.
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde was wonderful. It was really amazing how the small cast was able to totally engage the audience while telling such a profound story. The cast members played multiple roles that completed the twists and turns of the event. The venue was small and intimate. I will definitely return!
My granddaughters dance school performed there nice place, needs a proper parking garage.
Great theater! Intimate setting- every seat is a great seat in this house. We saw Dr. Jekyll and Mr.. Hyde and it was fantastic! Only down side is no food or drink allowed inside...still worth it because we could grab a drink at intermission. :)
Hamilton was a fantastic production which I enjoyed greatly.
A wonderful venue for many Broadway shows! Try the informal Maestro Cafe on the river. Decent food options, plenty of seating, and nice view before your show.
Was here to see Wicked. It's a beautifully appointed theatre. Sat in mezzanine 6, great seats. The seats in the mezzanine are just chairs that are movable which seemed odd for such a beautiful building. The show was extremely well done. The set and stage were fantastic.
We went to see Little Shop of Horrors at the Jaeb Theater. It was really good, but the bar, was the best! They're really good drinks and there is no need to even bring your own flask.
Well designed, friendly and courteous staff, Great entertainment venues.
amazing place with great ambience everyone's polite and quiet during viewings and actors are amazing!
Went to an event here recently and had a wonderful experience. Fantastic venue!
Omg I loved the theater and Aladdin was amazing! The snacks were reasonably priced also. Follow me on IG @kingdomfitlife for more of what I'm doing
Amazing time seeing Hamilton. Beautiful theater.
Always enjoy the shows that l attend there, beautiful theater.
Had a great time going to see Home Free in concert at David a Straz Center in Tampa Florida. Although their drinks are very very expensive
Love this place ..always have , always will xoxo Been going here for a very long time. Always feels amazing.
Always a great experience! Courteous knowledgeable staff, very clean & great dining options on premises or nearby to round out the experience. You can done alfresco & enjoy the Riverwalk (pic below)
Great venue. Every show and every event we have been to has been a great experience.
Broadway Pops was a fantastic show! The Tampa Orchestra is fantastic and so tight! I will now seek out wherever they play. Hooked on Tampa Orchestra! I left my expensive sunglasses in my chair next day I called Ted from Security and he found them! Karma to Ted! All the ushers and staff are the sweetest ppl!
Saw Hamilton...the center itself is nice...and will come back
Always amazing. Looking forward to 2022-2023 season
Venue is wonderful, great staff, great places to eat nearby, many parking options.Great fun, good price,
The employees were very attentive and helpful. The show was great!
Went to see Hamilton. Not a bad seat in the house
So many awesome moments at the STRAZ! @LocalGuides #LocalGuides
The parking is easy and there are plenty of fun restaurants and pubs within a short walk. 🙌🙌🙌 …
We had an amazing time watching Cinderella. First time ever and I would definitely do it again. My daughter enjoyed it very much.
Ist time there and was very impressed. Had good seats to see Cats Broadway musical.
Beautiful surroundings and love the atmosphere. Been a few times already and enjoyed all the productions. Modern with a classy feel. Took a star away due to being served a drink in a plastic cup. Sorry dispite the reasons that can be given, just a big stickler on plastic cups when you spend good money already.
Great show with Arial Dragons.
Easy in; easy out. Plenty of nearby parking. Sat in balcony AA11. View and sound were nice. Did not have to stand in line longer than 3 minutes.
Nice venue! Comfortable seating. Great sound and lighting. Hamilton was amazing!
Great experience..Make sure to book an reservation if you want to dine at the Straz or local Restaurant on the river..The place gets packed so make sure you arrive early..Shows are AWESOME..I've seen Wicked and Aladdin.. You can order drinks and a snack from one of the many food booths though out the main lobby.. Not to many seats in the main lobby so prepare to stand.. i cant wait to see another show..Dress is casual but you will see a few dressed to impress..
I love the Straz center, they have veru nice shows, you can access the river walk from there , take the water taxi, rent bikes and scotters, and it is family oriented
Great show, fresh tunes; not your typical worn out Broadway-style music
Nice performing art center, my daughter was in the fine arts festival through the school district of Hillsborough County, and the kids were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF THE PERFORMANCE❤
Went to see George Lopez. I had VIP tickets, so I got to go to the VIP lounge. The bartender was awesome. Very friendly and has a great taste in music. The auditorium was nice. The sears were comfortable and there was plenty of space to get in and out of your seat.
A beautiful location for large group photos #yagp #mcairnsphoto #heeseoabt #southkorea #ballet
Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood were wonderfully entertaining. I laughed all evening.
This is a very nice venue with on site dining for select performances. We attend regularly and its always a pleasurable experience. Plenty of restaurants and hotels within walking distance and a stroll down the riverwalk is alway a favorite after evening events.
This review is for the entire events committee. It starts with Marisol. She helped coordinate our son's Rehearsal Dinner on the outside pavilion. There was a broadway show the same night and another Christmas party but Marisol ensured every detail was more than taken care of. We had security for our event, the tables were beautiful, the buffet food was INCREDIBLE, the staff and bar staff was just unbelievable. I cannot recommend enough having your event here. Marisol will take care of every detail. Thank you to the entire team at The Stratz for giving us the perfect night for our very special event.
It was easy to book our reservation. Upon arrival, parking was close and easy. There was staff to welcome you through every step and to our seats. Waiters were attentive during the show. The show brought culture and education. The atmosphere was wonderful and we enjoyed the show, 'Plena y Bomba.'. It was very nice to see such a diverse group performing and such a diverse group in the audience.
Always a good show, there's no bad seat!! We really enjoyed Anastasia, I can't wait to see it again.
Went in to see Hadestown. Great production. Staff made experience whole.
Great venue. Staff is always incredibly welcoming and there's not a bad seat in the house.
Wonderful experience! Friendly, clean, beautiful.
Really nice theater!
Very family oriented, relaxed atmosphere extremely clean and well kept staff is professional and awesome.
Took my daughter here for her 7th birthday to see the little mermaid. She absolutely loved it and wants to go a bunch more. The only thing I didn't like was the seating is way to close together and the air conditioner wasn't working correctly but other than that it was great.
We visited the Straz center for Hamilton. We parked in a parking lot adjacent to the theater...it was rather expensive ($30) but it saved us a long walk. Valet available as well. Maesteos cafe, an elegant, and pricey, venue is located at straz. The menu was creative, as it catered to the performance with dishes named after characters or song titles in the production. The candy bar was a hit! There were several mini bars throughout so grabbing a drink didn't take too long. There were a couple of photo op spots. Bathrooms were very clean. Although there are lots of stairs, there are elevators and roomy seating. The theater seats are comfortable with a decent amount of walking space. We sat in balcony 4 and the acoustics were perfect! We would definitely return to this performing center.
I was at Straz performing art center a few times and I always love it. Beautiful out door with water fountain and great view of Hillsborough river. Theaters with comfortable seating and amazing sound. They always have great show like orchestra, musicial shows and specially Broadway. Easy parking and sky walk through from parking garage to the theater. I watched the Phantom of the Opera last night and it was amazing. And I felt appreciate that when I saw the sign language interpreters so everyone can enjoy the show. Coming early 30-45’ for parking and enjoy the time with some drink before the show because the door will close after show starts and they don’t let you in until break time( it used to be) but last night I saw they made some exceptions, a little annoying and distracting so I hope next time everyone will be come on time.
Very nice. The play was excellent. The acoustics were great. Can't wait to go see the next play there.
Musical was very funny and songsters we're high quality.
Saw Hamilton here. Great seats up top.
We saw Lost 80's Live in Morsani Hall... It was great.
Great venue. Seating is a little tight but has a great aesthetic. Great atmosphere outside to hang out and get some drinks and food before you go in.
Excellent job to the men and women of the cast Crown
Beautiful theater but felt very uncomfortable in the seats. Also very hot in the theater. Maybe it was just an off night for that.
Nice theater lots of seats. Shows were awesome saw Tom Segurra And Burt Kriesher. Anyhow seats are cramped people sitting next to you constantly bump into you. Very little space to get to your seat if youre inside the row. Its also warm in the theater. Long wait times for entering and alcohol if thats your interest I suggest you get there early. Appears to be plenty of restrooms for the amount of people. Overall good experience would go again for a good show.
Great venue for all types of performances.
Excellent theater floor seeing off Broadway shows.
What a wonderful place. Many performances and support of the arts. Food is pretty good too
The venue was clean and staff were curteous
Went there for "Russel Peter's" stand-up comedy show. It was an amazing auditorium.
Excellent time taking the grandson and his aunt my baby girl to view the Paw Patrol Musical! I'm always impressed with the Starz Center. The shops and restaurants both indoors and outside never disappoints! We will be revisiting for Mean Girls and the Illusionist coming next year. Amazing time my grandson chanted as we were leaving the Straz.
Saw Hamilton which was excellent.
Saw a comedian there last Sun. 4/24, Sat on the Mezzanine, in the back practicaly, & the view was great. Sound is solid, good place for any show. Very comfortable.
I did not attend any actual events. I was enjoying the Super Bowl festivities. It was such a great time.
Great proformers ,we watched The lighting thief,my family was very happy!
So great to be back to the live theater! Enjoyed the outdoor bar while waiting for the doors to open. Reasonably priced for theater drinks ($16 for double titos')
Saw Wicked for the first time at the Straz Center. Nice facilities, friendly staff, great sound and views from all around. Parking is kind of a hassle when they're at full demand, but that's to be expected at any large scale event.
Went to see mean girls. The view was good, but I'm wondering what was going on with the air-conditioning it was crazy hot!!!!!! No joke I've never sat so high up but it was really hot. Don't know it if was the location or if the air-conditioner was broken. ........something to think about.
Not a bad seat there! Anastasia was incredible. What a venue easy to park and get around. Excellent service convenient refreshments.
Great venue, saw Avenue Q which is a must while it's in town!!!
Great venue for enjoying live performances of a wide variety. Check out shows at the smaller theatre within the Straz Center
Great venue!!! I absolutely love the Straz Center! I have seen many performances here! The latest was Aladdin!!! It was amazing! So much fun and very entertaining!
I took my class to see the Youth Orchestra. They had a great time.
Great place to watch a play!! Best place and you don't have to take a trip to New York.
Went to see Lets Play Live. The theatre looked very aesthetically pleasing, the seats in the front row were comfortable, the staff was friendly and the sound from the crowd was perfect.
Loved it.
Saw Aladdin. Beautiful production. Straz very nice and personnel were great
Love the different smaller events they do as well! I was able to meet Roxane Gay and it was such a great opportunity for me to meet a hero of mine!
T’was a girls night out had a lot of promise but just didn’t deliver. The performers seemed a little lost and overall seemed like a rushed show. The story line was good but not enough to hold the show.
Saw Avenue Q here last weekend, awesome experience! Lovely time!
This venue was awesome. Open seating. Not a bad seat in the house. "Meteor Shower" was hilarious.
Amazing theater. Accommodating staff.Theater is accessible. Great production of Hamilton.
Had a great night seeing Frozen, easy parking and great seats. Really enjoyed the night, we also ate at restaurant in front of Straz on the boardwalk, the food was pretty good.
Guest services is superb. When we got there our app wasn't working so we had no access to our tickets. A customer service person took our information and off to brunch we went. within 15 minutes he and a manager brought the tickets to our table. What a wonderful experience
Enjoyed seeing "Shock-headed Peter" here and we'll look for other shows at this venue. This theater is more intimate, smaller, comedy club feeling that we enjoyed.
We saw Frozen and it was wonderful. The acoustics are great, we sat on row V dead center of the stage. Only thing that was not great was the bathroom situation at intermission.. too many ppl crammed together. Overall we really enjoyed the experience.
This is our second year of holding Broadway passes. Plenty of parking ($10), food onsite/nearby, and great shows. So happy to have seen Hamilton! More shows still to come!
Great venue. The Florida Orchestra, Holiday Pops show was amazing!
Was informed 2 days before attending the event via phone call recording that I was required to have proof of vaccination or negative covid test and mandatory mask use while in the building.
The ushers and general staff were all very pleasant and courteous
The "mask assault team" they had barking at anyone whose mask wasn't covering their nose was a bit much.
We will not be attending any future events at this venue..
Seen Wicked and it was truly amazing!! Best play hands down and the Straz venue is always nice.
Very much enjoyed the show though wish we had been closer. The sets were absolutely amazing.
I drove from Orlando to catch one of the last Hamilton shows in Tampa. The Straz Center staff could not have been nicer. Even their security and valet teams were cordial. The seats were comfortable, the Playbills were equally detailed with local and theatrical information, and the venue was very accessible to those who are handicapped. The restrooms were very clean and also quite accessible! Should a show or performance be sold out in Orlando, I will absolutely actively add Straz Center to my search.
The good, it's a great venue. The bad, waiting an hour for a drink. Partly the fault of the 20 people in front of me ALL paying with credit card. But the rub comes from having to drink it before entering the theater. CHUG CHUG CHUG!
Been there twice this year. Always a wide selection of artists! It’s a elegant place. Saw Jim Jeffries and Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Had a blast. Valet parking is worth it!
Very cool place to see
We went to see Dear Evan Hansen. Note that you are required to wear a mask a bring your COVID vaccine card or a negative test to get in. We didn't know this was their policy until we got there, but luckily someone was at home to send us pictures of our cards.
Nice place to go to see Broadway.
Loads of fun; very courteous staff
Hamilton was unbelievable. Best play of the decade! Can't wait to see it again!!!
Wonderful theater. Will definitely go back when I visit again.
Great experience, lots of vendors to purchase drinks/snacks from. Didn't feel too crowded. The bathroom lines can be quite long though.
Always has great shows . Not the same since covid. But still good
The performance was great and the people whale worked in there to fast flow great directions and they were very helpful
The best play of the year! One of the very few I would love to see again!
Saw Tyler Perry as Madea. Great facility, lighting and sound.
Great place to see a show at. It's always clean, classy, and well maintained. Production always looks and sounds great. The seats are pretty comfy, but only gripe would really be that the beverage lines take a bit too long.
Could not make out 2/3 of the words.
Nice building.
I love this local performing arts center. They offer so many wonderful traveling Broadway shows, opera, ballet from amazingly talented artists.
The fountains were off. 10 am in the morning
Very nice facility and theatre. The play happened to be awful. Left earlier.
Beautiful venue. Hamilton was incredible.
Less expensive than Doctor Phillips center in Orlando and not a bad seat in the house. We couldn't have been happier with our $39 tickets!!!
Very fun theater. The show was a very entertaining experience. I've been here 3 times and this was the first as a group. I definately recommend a table that seats 4. All locations of these provide a great stage view.
Very nice theater, even though the parking situation is a little difficult.
Amazing we saw Hamilton and was just the best experience
Fantastic venue with incredibly friendly staff. Their dedication to keeping patrons, performers, and staff safe is commendable. Policies are clear and concise. Proof of negative COVID test is the requirement. A vaccination card can voluntarily be presented instead but is definitely not forced. Staff very helpful with suggestions of how to get local free COVID testing for unvaccinated members of the party. Really appreciate the options given during such a chaotic time.
Love the Straz! Seats are very close together for those that may have difficulty with mobility (deducted one star for this), but otherwise it is a wonderful venue with great acoustics. I enjoy every show I see here! It is clean and the staff are courteous.
2018 Miss Florida USA Pageant was here. So much fun!!
Just love from me❤️amazing theater and the productions are always nothing less than amazing just made season ticket purchase can’t wait 🥳 …
Very nice, clean place. People working there are very helpful and kind. Highly recommend.
We were in the Morsani Hall. The show "The Sound Of Music" was great but the seats in the balcony and gallery were incredibly uncomfortable with a straight up 90 degree angled back. The view was unobstructed. The view is from Gallery- door 2- row BB- seat 9.
Very nice venue. Doesn't really seem like there are any bad seats in the hall.
They have some spectacular shows.
We saw the Prom.
It was fantastic. I want certain what to expect but it was funny, entertaining with great musical numbers and a great performance.
Wonderful energy until the curtain was called.
I recently had the pleasure of seeing Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables at the David Straz Center and it was such a lovely performance. The acoustics were awesome and the seats were comfortable during our 3 hour show. The Center had several bars set up for the crowd and the wait wasn’t too bad considering how many people were attending this show. The attendants were very helpful and incredibly efficient at getting everyone to and from their seats. One star off for the limited bathrooms compared to the number of individuals that had to line up during the intermission, it was utter chaos and rather unpleasant as an employee shouted directions in a jarring tone over and over again, similar to a cattle call. I recommend valet parking at this venue which was reasonably priced and took the pressure off of parking and walking a considerable distance in downtown Tampa on a Friday night.
We went to the Straz Center for the first time to see Hamilton. This photo is from the back row of the Mezzanine level dead center in the middle. The theater is as nice as I expected. The real star of the theater however was the ladies restroom attendant. She got about 20 people in and out in under 4 minutes! Otherwise, the lobby was traditional theater fare. They sold souvenirs, snacks, a candy bar where you fill your own bucket, and regular bars. They take credit cards at all of the vendor stations. Beware of the prices! Two mixed drinks and a bottle of water was 30 dollars. Not bad for theater prices, but expensive if you are on a budget. Outside they have beautiful fountains and a riverwalk area that had a small bar in an airstream trailer. It was a really pretty area to talk about the show before we made our way to the parking lot. Speaking of parking, we found a lot where we paid two dollars!!! It is the Royal Regional Lot located on N Tampa. You have to walk a little bit to get to the theater but for 2 dollars it is worth it. Overall it was a great theater experience and I will be back.
Went to the production of "Doubt" (just like the Meryl Streep and Philip S. Hoffman movie) the cast was AMAZING! I knew the story, my wife had never seen it however I was thoroughly entertained. They also had a special Covid 19 seating arrangement as well as a protocol. We will definitely return, the cast was not the only awesome part of the show, other employees and theater members were very polite, professional and courteous. We (pre covid) routinely visit the jobsite theater next door (in the same building) and have a fantastic time. It's fun to take out your significant other to a killer restaurant nearby, there are so many to choose from, then a show. My wife has taken her mother to see shows and dinner too, as in Mother-daughter dates. I'd check it out if you've read this far into my review!
First time. Concert and movie. Good sound and great service
Had a good day at the Straz!
I have learned wonders here worth it, Ive met long life freinds.
Went to the starz for the first time since covid to see Tootsie. The show was fantastic and very funny. The Straz however can use a facelift. It’s totally understandable since it was closed for over a year but I will be back to visit again. The owner came on the stage and informed us that new updates are coming because the Straz received some additional funds. The only thing that was unfortunate is that they didn’t allow us to take our drinks inside of the theater. C
This is a wonderful theater with fantastic acoustics and colorful lighting. The hive fixtures overhead are very modern and really interested me despite my focus on the Paw Patrol Live performance. Ok. I was mostly watching my children enjoy the show and the theaters appearance but the show was well done in this versatile environment. The venue was clean and accessible. We were on the 3rd floor and it wasn't as steep as Amelie Arena which is very good when terrified of heights. I will say though that the seats are narrow for my hips. Size 3x beware. It hurts to sit, so do it fast.
Wonderful place to see and hear a play, musical or concert.
Love the Straz! Always fun and educational!
Lucky to have a great place like this to see Broadway shows
Watched the bee movie on the way here, pleasurable experience. When I got my pamphlet I saw an add in it with a really dapper looking dog. I highly recommend eating the dried peaches, they taste like tea bags, I didn’t like them.
Excellent theater very nice and clean, great customer service and attention from the staff and security staff 👍🏾 will visit again. …
Beautiful facility. Parking is difficult unless you valet park. Try eating at the outside Cafe before the performance, good fast food.
Good performance of Little Shop of Horrors for Easter Sunday! Great cast and very nice venue.
Simply one of the best places to see a show.
Great show, moved smoothly in and out
Always enjoy the theater. Jaeb and the smaller theater I enjoy more for the personal experience.
Loved the venue and the ushers were very nice
Amazing service. Candy and staff went above and beyond to be accommodating and helpful.
Concert was great only thing don't like there was no drinks concessions where close for the event not even water 😒 …
An amazing venue and so enjoyed the open and friendly staff !!
Be reasonable about your adult drink prices
Great place to see a show. We just watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Live in Concert. What a treat! Our seats were great but there were some distractions. We survived. Wish they had a better handle on parking. Waited 20 minutes to leave the garage as they were checking tickets on the way out?
Clean, not much seating for before the shows and the Ferguson theater smells musty and old.
Love seeing musicals and plays here.
We have so much fun going to Maestros for Latin Nighta❤❤❤ with the Orchestra Infinidad!!
My wife and I love it, I wish we could go more often. I've seen 5 or 6 Broadway series plays, 3 stand up comedians, and a Chinese acrobatic team there over the years in three of the auditoriums. I haven't experienced a sound or other technical issue yet.
Parking isn't ideal, but I expect that in a downtown venue. It's plentiful, but can be difficult to get out if you're on the upper floors of the garage.
Getting better about COVID restrictions. Inside snack counters were closed but had food options just outside. Good selections out there!
The Straz Center and surrounded ng parks and Riverwalk are a true Tampa gem. Bars and eateries all over, overall great place to be.
First time here since i moved to FL and will definitely be back. Easy to get to and right on the river is beautiful.
Sometimes looking at life through another Angle is key. iG @Abundance26
Went to see with a group Donna Summer the musical was fantastic and the seats were great
Massimo evento ieri sera con Il Volo.... Bravissimo ragazzi.... Great, great venue... Easy parking at Poe Garage for$10. Easy drive from anywhere on 275 N. Very reasonable ticket prices. NOT a bad seat in the house. Great service by volunteers!!! Amazing view of the nearby Hillsborough River ... It and the River Walk is just a few steps from the Straz... The River Walk itself is a fun venue... There are 2 restaurants: a formal one inside & an informal one outside, also a coffee shop, and of course, mobile bars inside and outside the center. You gotta go!!! Pick a good show!
Great local theater, fun experience. Would have loved to have had more audience participation in the play, Shockheaded Peter. My grandkids (10 & 13) really enjoyed it.
Incredible place to visit and take in one of their many different types of shows and plays. Impeccably kept and staff is awesome.
Almost all seats are great. Have awesome performances. However, when you order tickets on line, there is a seating chart. Downside, there is no choice between the rear orchestra and mesonine seats. When I purchased my ticket, the chart showed I was in the mesonine, instead I was rest orchestra. Still OK seats.
So we'll done! The cast is so talented and magical! Thank you for sharing your talents to this story!
It was a great show and amazing dinner ❤😍❤ …
Wonderful nice sitting outside before plays
Awesome place. The theater is always an exciting date night. They serve drinks for most of the events and sometimes merch.
Anyway you look at it, the performing arts are not dead.
Wonderful venue! The staff were accommodating, security was efficient and non-obtrusive. We had a delightful time...!
Cozy theatre, allowing an excellent view of the stage Bistro type seating. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices for shows. We saw Shout and loved it. 90 minutes of Laughable fun
I attended the Florida Orchestra's close out of its 2018/2019 season with Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 5. I sat in the Mezzanine level and the acoustics were surprisingly good. The ticket prices vary but for what you pay for in the Mezzanine level, it's pretty solid. The venue itself is gorgeous. The drinks were rather expensive but it is typical theater prices. I look forward to coming back next season.
I was only on the out side.....nice view along the River.....nice walkway along the river with plenty of places to sit.....even has a stop for the RIVER TAXI...we might try that next time
The show was excellent but the space was so small it didn't need tables
Beautiful theater and experience. I highly recommend.
Gorgeous theater, great sound, beautiful stage & lighting, confortable seats, need more leg room.
Nice always they make activities in walk river....he have talent...
Great venue for an amazing show! Hamilton was well worth the wait!!
Once known as the Tampa Bay performing arts Center, this facility is a great place for shows, concerts, and other performing arts. The attached Patel Conservatory offers child and adult classes in theater, music, comedy, and others.
The facility has great acoustics and seems to be laid out as good as possible given the size. Some of the balcony seats make viewing shows difficult.
Great shows and family oriented
Keep up the great profomances the holiday shows were fantastic .
Volunteers were so joyfully happy and of great service of there time and efforts .
Thanks to all .
A wonderful venue for some world-class musicals.
Beautiful theatre great shows
awesome local show place. ballet school and live theatre plays.
Beautiful center and happy to see their covid policy is prioritizing safety first! We will be sure to come back more often now that we know about it.
I lovely place to watch a show in the evening. Yes some of the seats are kind of small, and yes it can be a bit confusing to find parking, and yes I have no idea where all that money from million dollar donations, expensive seats, free docent labor, and $4 soda cans goes, but it is still enjoyable. Parking can be a bit confusing, but once you have gone a couple of times, it gets easier to make your way around.
Jaeb Theater is an intimate cabaret style venue offering musicals, comedies and more. Nice place for an evening out. Catch local talent here.
It was great I loved it mow we are on are way home...it was exciting!!!
Nice venue except you cant drink in your seat.🤔 …
Saw Hamilton. Able to get around easy.
It was my 1st time visiting downtown Tampa since I got here. Enjoyed the concert so much. The area around it is amazing, too.
What a beautiful area. A museum, a riverwalk, a one of a kind eating area, and a center for the arts. This is a treasure. A myriad of things to do !
The concerts on the 3rd Monday have been very interesting. Would have gone to see a few today the artist on their own tickets otherwise. Joel & staff are.doing a great job putting it together each year.
Cats was great. The meal upstairs was even better. All was cooked to perfection. Would. Go again. Costly!
Fantastic place to see live shows. Always clean and the staff and volunteers are so friendly. We had season tickets and really enjoyed all the shows. A nice date night or family night.
Loved Hamilton!!!
Beautiful venue!
Great venue, moderately priced drinks, ample seating
The Disney Frozen performance was amazing! A little annoying we had to mask up but Disney needs to keep their performers well to go to the next venue.
Went to see Avenue Q and the whole experience was amazing.
The musical Frozen eas definitely one of the BEST shows I've ever seen !!!
Was that the restaurant food was fine it's fine service was good would would go back
i love this theatre, very intimate, plays can be hit or miss but always enjoyable to see actors work up close. highly recommend seeing anything that's playing here just for the experience
This is a great place to see the Florida orchestra perform. Very comfortable seating.
Beautiful facility, excellent staff, and incredible performance of Frozen!
Nice place to go for lots of different cultural events. It's definitely worth going to check out some of their shows and events to get a better picture of what's offered and experience it for yourself.
The Phantom of the Opera was amazing last night!!!!
Top notch... wasn't bothered by the traffic. Great evening!
Great venue and the staff is super helpful.
Had a great time with my 6yr best friend to watch the "Frozen" musical.
Great intimate theatre . Close up to the action, you can really feel the action! Chairs are set around tables, there's not a bad seat in the house! Grab a drink and a snack and enjoy!
A great place to go watch fantastic music or plays with that someone special. Been here twice and enjoyed both occasions.
Broadway quality theatre in downtown Tampa showcases some of the greatest plays and concerts that can only be seen in places like London and NY. Hamilton, Wicked, The Nutcracker just to name a few
Easy to get to Valet parking very convient
Im sing their praises after seeing The Sound of Music at Straz and having dinner 🎶 at Maestros. …
Always a great time no matter what hall the show is in.
A taste of Straz event. Beautiful setting, great samples. Wines and drinks. Thanks to my roommate.
Seating is great and the shows are amazing.
Saw phantom of the opera there. The place is nice. The seats are comfortable, the drinks are affordable. Make sure you arrive early so you can find a place to park or reserve your parking in advance online. Parking can be tricky.
Good for the river walk.
Waited in line for 30 mins to get drinks for the show. Only when at the counter to order can u see a sign that says no food or drinks at our seats...
Also the digital tickets said "mask required" when we arrived we learned proof of vaccine or recent negative covid results were required for entry. No where on the ticket did it state that. Seen people turned away for a last minute rule they claim was emailed only a few days ago. We all know emails from a venue are disregarded as spam/advertisement...
Luckily I'm vaccinated and had to taken a photo of my card for instances like this. This is not a stance on vaccines/mask etc. This is just a lazy horrible way to treat paying customers. Put the requirements on the digital tickets.
Little Shop Of Horrors was awesome! Wonderful singing! Cast was amazing
Fitst time visited the "Straz Center" We had The best experience, the stuff super friendly, very comfortable seats, good location. Overall a beautiful building. ♥️
Costumer service is beyond excellent in this place. Clean facilities, easy access, great place for any event.
A nice place to sit back, relax, and enjoy some amazing shows. I had a great time here and you will too if you’re into the types of shows that hey offer. Clean facility, and some food choices allow for a lovely experience.
Florida orchestra + Beatles music..magical!
Everyone we have encountered at the Straz has been overly kind and helpful. Can't wait for the upcoming season's shows!
Good time and nice place for a show.
Great shows, way parking, volunteers friendly
Beautiful theater & Great show
Love coming to see the shows with the family not a bad seat in the place. And the staff are super friendly and helpful.
Very pleasant environment, easy access off 275
This is a beautiful theatre that hosts high-quality productions. The biggest issue is parking. It's in a very crowded area if downtown Tampa and parking is both expensive and spread out. The other annoying issue is the uncomfortable seats. My grandson is a big man (over 6'4") and he could not get comfortable due to the narrow spacing between aisles. I noticed the man seated at the end of our row was also uncomfortable. I am petite but the seats were not comfortable for me either. As we were leaving, the lady seated next to me also mentioned the uncomfortable seats. We did have a nice view of the stage from the balcony, if only we could have stayed for the entire performance.
Very nice. Elegant. Didn’t require pointless masks anymore on 4-24-22.
Pricey drinks, nice layout and food.
Lovely theater, well organized, love the box seats.
Saw Piff The Magic Dragon here. Had a chance to meet Piff and Mr Piffles, the chuwawa (sp,,)
Great place, better then expected
Clean and helpful staff. Event prices are typically way over priced, the vendors ran out of almost all snacks. The entrance is very slippery. Saw several people slip on the way in. The bathrooms have someone stationed within, this was helpful in making sure all stalls were being utilized and people were moving along but as in any large event the lines were nuts!
Always have wonderful experiences here.
The place was so Beautiful,The water view the weather was amazing and my children showed me a great Mother's Day! All the events they had for us was great Thanks for an amazing time I wouldn't want to spend it anywhere else.....
Nice venue but parking is a royal pain. Puts a damper on the event.
Excellent performance, great family atmosphere with a snack bar for kids/adults, great drinks and wonderful service from the ushers!! Will continue to go back
Great entertainment!
