Great acoustic, spacious, there is standing area and seating . Easy access if you park in the lumen field parking center. Very ventilated space doesn’t feel crowded. Food and drinks are average price for a concert . Very clean restrooms.

Went to WAMU to see The Deftones! Great concert 🙌 we had a blast!
Make sure to buy parking at the garage before hand - you cannot pay when you get there. Also make sure there is not a Mariners game and a rave in the area on the same night 😂 it took us 2 hours to find parking. We almost gave up, and we missed the openers but we parked a mile away and walked and made it in just before they came on stage! Great venue, sound was great and staff were super friendly. 10/10 for the venue, will definitely see more shows here! Parking gets a 5/10, the parking garage at the stadium was marketed for the concert, but nowhere did it say you could not purchase at the gate. We sat in line for 40 minutes to park there just to be turned away at the gate. It was also only posted at the entrance to the garage that you had to have parking passes purchased beforehand, no notices anywhere else in the mile long line of traffic waiting for the garage.

Great venue space that allows concerts to feel intimate and also seat a lot of people. Once doors open getting in is quite fast, and merch lines seem to go quickly. The space outside the seated area seems kind of large and barren. I recommend taking public transportation or a ride share here because the parking seems hard to come by and the traffic after events end is definitely undesirable- no fault of the venue itself, this happens at all concerts. NOTE THEIR CLEAR BAG POLICY. Definitely bring the bare essentials for coming here- card not cash! Great sound quality.
Daniel Resendez
Amazing venue with all types of shows and concerts. Typically standing room only so get there early. Also note the new clear bag policy to make entry quick and easy

Saw Lauv in concert. The venue is pretty large, has a seating area and a beer garden. You'd have to come early to avoid lines for merch or even to get a front row spot at concerts.
Overall, easy to get in and had no issues with the theatre.
Daniel Rexus
Went to see the Zach Bryan Concert and the venue was nice with lots of concession locations available. They had raised bleacher style seating with nicely padded chairs. You also had the option of standing on the floor closer to the performers.
Gryffin Rust
Plenty of space, went to see baby gravy tour, had all sorts of cool lights. Was areas to sit or stand. Cool theater, and there was street parking available.

I can’t imagine not going to this Deftones 2022 tour with Gojira & Vowws. These are on a whole different level when playing their shows and I’m pretty sure I experienced astral projection at some point. Currently battling post-concert depression so wish me luck.

Large venue. Concert i saw there was great. All General admission could stand or sit in chairs. Large bathroom rare wait times. 2 large bar areas. Food and non alcoholic drinks also available. Starbucks coffee. Friendly staff. Sound of music was great. Parking at lumen field parking garage recommend

Went for a Wednesday night concert and the WAMU has definitely improved since the last time I went! I was pleasantly surprised by the service and ease of the venue. Navigating this venue is very easy, the employees really help with the flow. For being in Seattle in one of the most expensive areas, the food and alcoholic drinks were decently priced. The bars were more impressive than other venues I've been to. I had been putting off events at the WAMU for a few years now but now I will keep coming back!
Isabella Petramala
Pretty big venue, General Admission seems to be better than assigned seating, assigned seating was far from the stairs and looked like bleachers. Great atmosphere

Went to see Kehlani and I had a blast. I like this theater because they way it was constructed was convenient.
Helena Ramirez-Watson
A large yet comfortable place to sing and dance to your favorite band. I went to see Flogging Molly and everyone watching was so considerate of others and their space. There was enough space for everyone to enjoy themselves but still fell part of a huge crowd enjoying punk rock music.
Jesse Kahlvik
BOO! 2022 attendee, all I can say is that the venue well equipped to handle the volume *if* anyone had informed insomniacs staff of the buildings natural flow. Plenty of space for water stations, staff and ammenities. The stairs were divided on the second night making traffic jams less rampant but the maps available were all additions to the venue done by Insomniac and an actual map would have made things easier and safer in general. Very good show, mad appreciation for letting us have a bass stage in the parking garage, that was so lit.

I was there for the Halloween Boo Rave event. The space was so huge that they could fit two carnival rides in the back space of the venue. With the amount of people there the space never got overly hot and still had plenty of space to walk around without bumping into people. One down side to the space was the restroom situation because there weren’t many area to except two main areas and the lines were long.

We had seats in the 4th row center on an end and had a wonderful experience at a comedy show... arrive early to get a place in line for refreshments. Women's restroom was out of toilet paper in at least one stall (I was unlucky enough to use it, but I grabbed hand towels and put them in the trash after). Beautiful theater and a wonderful venue!
Gloria Procella
Decent place to see live shows. It does get very packed during sold out shows. The crowd on the floor stretched from the stage to the bleachers.
Taitum Allen
I went to see Olivia Rodrigo the performance itself wasn’t bad although I could barely here Olivia singing it was way to quite. Also it was very cramped and the show had to be stopped at least 5 times because fans kept passing out which is not ok. I kept hearing people screaming “water!!” But the security payed no attention and Olivia herself had to stop the show to help them and it’s not even her job the security should have done better. It is very hot in the theater which also is an issue and the security needs to give people water when needed. The staff was awesome, very nice. I would definitely go back I just think there is some issues that should be fixed.

Wamu is one of the better places to see larger shows in the Seattle area, however it's light on amenities and atmosphere
J M
It's a great concert venue. Great sound, love that there is open seating with great views if you want to sit. Bathrooms are actually super clean and I've never had to wait in line.
Madeline C
Security was easy to get through, they have designated drinking areas. The venue has a very large GA floor area and they offer bleacher seating. Parking can be tricky so expect to walk or Uber
Stefanie Howrad (Showrad)
Loved it! Saw Flogging Molly and The Interrupters and had soooooo much fun! Big bar with lots of space to hang out and couches to chill on! If only the would open the curtain enough to see the show from the bar...
Petko Bozhilov
Great venue, great artists, fantastic experience.
Katrina Backman
It was a beautiful venue. Great sound. However the air quality wasn't very good once the concert began and the tech crews began setting off fog machines etc. And people around us had vapes and vape pens which added to the smoke in the air.
Grace Patton
Went to a concert here, and it was not a bad experience, but there is one thing I want to talk about at the bottom. The venue is a great setup overall for concerts. The bartenders and concessions were fire. The security at the front of the house was passing out water, making sure people were good, pulling out crowd surfers. What I want to talk about was the interaction that I had with the security at the back of the event. I was up in the crowd and got really dizzy and started blacking out, so I immediately excused myself to the back. I couldn't make it up the stairs to sit, but there was a chair at the bottom that I grabbed. I was immediately reprimanded and told, "You can't sit there. You have to go out to the concessions. " To which I said, "Hey, I will in a second, but I'm gonna pass out." The person said that they were going to get medical, but instead, the manager came over. He starts reprimanding me too and says, "You can't sit here." To which I pleaded that I just needed a minute because I was going to pass out. And then he gave me the old adage about how if I sat here, everybody would start sitting there. And I repeated, "I needed a minute, and I would get up." Mind you, I couldn't really breathe, let alone talk. But they left me there and didn't make sure I was ok or ever got medical. I'm sorry, but when someone tells you they are actively passing out, I would assume that would be cause to either get help or stay with the person.
Zachary Toliver
This is such a great venue, especially from trap/EDM sort of stuff. So much room to dance and vibe. Love the midnight end time too lol. It makes getting back to Tacoma by a reasonable hour nice.
Nick Tollefson
No reusable bags are allowed but it's completely fine to bring weed vapes and nicotine vapes in. The venue itself is fine and food is relatively good considering it's not a restaurant. People are good here. I might have lost a shoe but it was well worth it!
RAYRAY LAMPLEY
Love seeing shows here! Production and sound is always top notch! Just wish they had a smoking section and security wasn't so handsey! I think the last one almost got to third base 🤮 …
Freddie Riojas
The event was nice was there for boo Seattle
2022. Just know parking is expensive and will cost $40 which is crazy , I recommend parking by the main free way exit. It was $30 traffic in the city gets crazy and lots of one ways and got lost.
Matthew Gowey
Went to the trinity of terror concert and as always wamu was perfect! Great service, very clean, and all the staff was very helpful
Aaron Johnson
Nice venue. Adequate restroom facilities. Very friendly event staff.
Ryssa Montaño
The stair situation is problematic with large crowds. They neeeeeed to sell redbull for events like raves!! How else are we supposed to stay up that late!! Over sold the event and they need to have staff up front guiding people away from the scummy lockers that stole our card info
The Krampus
Attended the Ghost: The Ultimate Tour Named Death show at WaMu Theater tonight. The venue was great, despite a few strict rule policies like no bag bigger than a handbag unless it's clear and a hair trigger fire alarm. The seating and sound and lighting were all wonderful. I would certainly attend a show here again!
morgan cook
So far this year I've seen dillion Francis and then I just saw yung gravy and bbno$ both were great shows and the venue was on point
Deborah East
This is a nice smaller venue that is well organized and managed very well. We attended a concert here had a very good experience. Upon entry you immediately have the option to check coats. Then very nearby we hit the bar. The bars were very nicely layout through out the venue. The lines were not too long at all. Once in the bar area, it felt very roomy. Many times you are stuck in a tiny over 21 area and this was much better. One area for improvement would be the merch area. It wasn’t big enough and the line was too long for too much of the time. Didn’t make it worth getting merch, so we passed on it. Once inside for the concert, it was very spacious and well laid out. There were plenty of options to sit or stand. It looked like the area with seats fills up quick, so get there early if you want to sit in the chairs. As for standing, there was plenty of room and it was a fairly polite crowd and people didn’t mind if we got close to the front. We will definitely look for other concerts to see here.

This is my first vist and review of WaMu Theater to see Of Monsters and Men perform, Sept 26, 2019. Keep in mind your experience might be different from my review based on performer, event and how the venue is setup.
Getting there was a breeze from the 90 and parking at the venue was easy at $20. I'd discribe the security as very good, comparable to most other events. Suggest visiting their website for guidance on rules and restrictions. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly.
The layout of the theater is the stage, the floor area and bleachers with open seating in the back. I chose to sit at the back while my daughter stood at the front of the stage. Having read past reviews about the venue, I noticed a lot of negative comments regarding the sound. As a sound engineer in my previous life, I can attest the sound for this performance was simply amazing - almost studio quality. After the show, I spoke with sound engineer and he indicated that we was with the band and not the house engineer and he credited the improved sound quality due to the huge curtains that are hung all around the performance area. Once the floor is filled with the crowd, there are no smooth surfaces for the sound to bounce and echo, creating a balanced, crystal clear audio experience. Of course all of this is dependents on the skill of the sound engineer behind the board and type of band and performance. Not sure how a heavy metal band would sound in there with the volumes pushed to 11!
I appreciated the fact the show started right on time and ended on time - no surprises there.
The theater was clean with a huge bar just outside of the performance hall with lots of seating and tables and the free WiFi was very fast. The washrooms were clean also and easy to get to. Overall, it was a great experience for us. Hope you found this review helpful.
Aryanna
The situation with drinking alcohol at the venue was very weird due to only having designated areas to be able to drink at. Other than that everything else was decent.
William Phelps
Really cool venue sound was great in there and concert was amazing! Would definitely come again to see more artists. Came all the way from Spokane and was not disappointed, made the trip worth it
Tristan
First time attendee and will definitely be coming back. Most of the staff were awesome at the event but some were straight up a$$holes. Still, will definitely be coming back.
Daniel Hewitt
Went and saw Bring Me The Horizon, Sleeping With Sirens, and Poppy. The theater was amazing. Everything was set up nicely. Staff and other employees were all extremely nice.
Neal Bauer
Saw Alice and Chains at the WaMu and the band experience was exceptional. The whole "getting through security" experience, not so much. We had to go through the same line three times for a water bottle, an iPad, and a purse that was 1cm too big and needed to be checked. We had to check two items and wait in a security line for over 45 minutes to get into the venue. If you are going to an event here, be sure to measure your stuff and arrive a good two hours before the doors open.
Haris Nadeem
Loved the theatre, loved the staff, loved the experience.
We had the tickets for the back rows. After a while, one of the staff member came up and gave us tickets to the front rows and that just made our experience out of this world!
Thank you to the staff member for being such an awesome human being!
Loved the WAMU theatre vibes!
Anatoliy Maslyanchuk
Love this place. Great place for music festivals, particularly EDM. Definitely would recommend everyone to go to any music festival as long as the music you love is played or the artists you like. It is highly recommended to wear earplugs otherwise you'll have trouble hearing for a day or two and if you constantly go you could get permanent hearing damage as you age. I got Eargasm earplugs and they work great.
Hunter Fruth
I had an incredible time at the Dropkick myphys and rancid show!! They had 2 drinking areas that are 21+ as well as purse stronge because you cant have it apparently? Water, snacks, and merchandise, like any other venue but one thinks i found odd was that you cant go out to smoke at all...? But other then that its amazing!
Nicole Mickelson
Noticed the older employees were arguing/ antagonizing black people at a concert. Even on my way to the parking garage the girl who j walked with me got berated and I waited until she got in her car and asked them (white “traffic controllers”, unsure what they were actually helping with as them yelling at people was leading to worry and hesitation as people were leaving, assuming they were making sure everyone was okay. Was super impressed with security and a lady I met who was alcohol enforcement/ assistance member.. they were calm and collected with some seemingly distressing situations with those dehydrated/ too drunk. Definitely a great but also very concerning experience at the same time.
Ebone Marsalis
This place i had never been to. The concert Kevin Gates was awesome!! I didn't however like the concession stand food!! Easy to get into the place and parking garage was well lite.
mark villanueva
The place was great. Exlent stuff. Not shure why they had a concert along with two major sports events in the same place at the same time. The greed is disgusting when they charge $50 to park a car.
grislamorena509
Best concert Carin Leon,I have been too, well organized found my seat fast before concert started!! Can't wait for other concert to be held here, will definitely be going back
seattledrumguy
Bands and sound were great. VIP experience was the worst.
No special access at all. No front GA access or back stage/side stage access like most venues provide. A small coral next to the FOH sound was erected but no one used it because it looked more like the drunk tank. To top it off, at the end when we all walked to the front doors to get our VIP swag we were told that we were actually getting a meet and greet so we had to walk all the way back to the VIP “cage” and were held prisoner fro 30 min only to be told by an abrupt sounding woman who insisted that we all yell “F-You” at her so she could agree and accept some sort of blame for the miscommunication and that we were not going to get a meet and greet after all. I used to work in premium seating for a very large concert promoter and this was hands down the worst VIP experience I’ve ever been a part of. For the amount we paid we should have been treated better. Someone at WAMU or Showbox or AEG needs to be fired.
Jeff Hollis
Attended a Call of Duty World League event as an employee here. Bathrooms were okay and event space seemed adequate. Comfortable temps, and decent food. Good location also. Good food trucks outside as well!
Calvin Do
Great venue, lots of space and good A/C & ventilation. Can get drinks and still watch the show. Seating available. Large bathrooms available as well
Jamie Ehrhart
Bigger than expected. Sound is always great. Plenty of staff around to keep everything moving smoothly.
Bert Rutherford
Venus was great. Parking attendant apparently doesn't know her behind from a hole in the ground. Parked us with ada parking pass in the furthest possible spot from the elevator. 🤦♀️ …
WEE WOO
Saw Joji in concert here, the venue is very spacious
Michael Wendler
Was here for the Call of Duty World League event. It was quite disappointing that you were not allowed to bring food and drinks that you bought at the booths inside the theater into the venue for no apparent reason. I chatted to one of the security personnel, who said it was allowed for other events, so be sure to check the event site to not be disappointed.
Ryk (RykGoodDesu)
Large space, perfect for any large event. The balcony and space underneath allow for a nice division, so that multiple events can be held at the same time.
For the GE2 event - Gaming & Experimental Entertainment - that I went to, they utilized the upper level for the VIP room and the space below was sectioned off as a drone racing arena. As for the main hall, they were able to fit a large stage with about 200 seats, a netted-dodgeball area, and an HTC Vive venue (all with space between).
Lastly, there were concession stands with four vendors downstairs dividing the main hall from the other event, and two on the upper balcony area.
Overall, the layout was nice, clean, and spacious - great for any mid-scale to semi-large events, expos or concerts.
Rachel Knowles
Been here a few times to see mgk, sws, bmth, and others. Love the experience every time. It's not huge, but I don't feel overly crowded in. It's fairly easy to get close up to the stage.
Probably my favorite venue.
Stefanie Howard
Good venue and sound was great too, but being able to chill on the couch made it better. If only you could see the stage from the bar... ugh!
Brian Wikene, Jr
This is a great space for an event. It's able to be configured for a crowd of up to 7000. I attended a hip-hop/rap concert and enjoyed it. The sound was amazing. The temperature was a bit warm in the facility. People passed out during the concert, which shows that the temps were pretty warm in the facility. I wouldn't hesitate to see another show here. I would recommend a "seated" show verses a "standing room only" general admission show.
Paul Cikatricis
It is a good venue for a medium size show. We saw Odesza and it was just great. We felt safe and the organizers kept the crowds under supervision all the time. We went through a metal detector and bag check upon entry. The neighbourhood felt OK. Getting to and from the show was a breeze. We walked from downtown and took uber on the way back to our hotel.
shanelle L
Loved seeing Alicia keys in concert 😍 her energy was incredible …
Lisa X
Came to a couple of concerts here this year, this place is spacious, but can get close to our favorite musicians☺️
Sissi Mattox
I saw Hozier here a few weeks ago. Had a really easy time getting into the venue, had a really nice chat with the bartenders. I thought the sound quality in the venue was fantastic.
My one star being taken off is for a security issue. I completely understand why you would not allow mace or pepper spray to be brought inside. As a young woman attending a concert alone, and having to walk to public transportation and then from the station to my house in the dark, having to choose between going to a concert I paid good money for and throwing away my form of self protection, that is really obnoxious. I don’t expect to be allowed to take it in, but it would be great for there just to be a bucket you can grab a random one out of on your way out. Even unofficially.
Narine Harut
Very nice venue, I have been for different occasions, from concerts to art shows.. etc Always well-maintained, well organized, good customer service
Christopher O'Marrah
Came here to see Lauv 09/20/2022. It's a nice little theater. Other attendees were selfish and only cared for themselves but what can I expect? It's Washington and it seems like everyone from Washington are selfish.
Samuel Tellier
I've seen the artists Disclosure and Big Wild perform here, and both were extremely fun/memorable concerts.
Ari Munoz
Went here for the Trinity of Terror tour and it was well organized, even when the concert started. Would definitely come to more shows here
Elaine Schultz
Really nice lounge area. Alicia Keys concert was fabulous. Even AA section seating was great.
Lukas Anderson
Good sound, spacious
But no re-entry, no smoking area, expensive drinks, no energy drinks, no shots. Drinking only in restricted areas. Very corporate
Michael Mcchord
Wonderful place to have a show. Even managed to snag a surprisingly comfortable chair. Bathrooms were awesome. 10/10
Sawyer Hanners
Awesome venue, saw bbno$ and Yung Gravy here. Easy to find, no hitches, security and ticket checking was a breeze.
Piper Ahrens
Great concert venue, I've seen so many artists here. The stage design and sound quality are always phenomenal. There are decent parking options, good security, and a fairly straightforward layout. I also like that there's an option for seating in the back with GA tickets so you can have somewhere to chill and watch the show if your legs get tired or you're feeling cramped in the pit. Overall wonderful venue 5 stars
James Carver
The venue is okay but regardless i always have fun and it constantly has good shows definitely worth checking out
Heather Schofner
Great venue to see a show. Spacious with good sound. Wheelchair accessible. Vegan and GF options at concession when we were there!
Luigi Costantini
Love this place great performance Happening Here great people to meet and would definitely come and check this place out again
SJ Cook
Huge and cavernous, lots of floor space, multiple set ups and cofigurations. I'm looking forward to Portugal the Man in March 2022.
Ari Inola Adair Farr
Really great venue. It's in down town. So parking blows. So leave extra time for that mess. But the venue is great. I just went to my first show here, and will totally go again.
Marcus Wong
Good venue, but they won't let you out, for any reason once you're in. We had a sound check / artist meet and greet at 4pm. It was all done by 5pm, but they wouldn't let us out to get food even though nothing was available inside.
So, they basically made us sit and wait for 1.5 hours with nothing to do and nothing to eat. Not a great "VIP" experience.
Food was decent but really unhealthy (chicken strips, fries, corn dogs and nachos with fake cheese). Why 3 stars when everything about the venue is not great? The employees are all super nice. Otherwise this would be a one star review...
Henry Spurgeon
If your bag is larger than a iPad mini you're not getting in, but don't worry there's another long queue for you to join in order to pay someone $10 to store it for you! No prior warning or information on the booking confirmation, a convenient money-making scheme it seems. No staff even at the start of the queue advising people of the rules, would have saved some people a lot of time and hassle. Once you've queued for a second time and got through clutching your belongings in your hand (or transparent airport bag if you have one to hand!) you'll enjoy a good sized venue with spacious seating, bar and restroom facilities.
Kayleigh Yazzie
The set up was very good and I had the best time going to see Magnolia Park, Monuments, The Used and A Day to Remember 🤘 …
Mathew Knights
The performers did awesome! The lines for everything could have been thought out way better.
Tomas Cortijo
The venue is great, line management was fast and the toilets are clean and modern.
Chelsea McCollim
I really have nothing negative to say about this venue. Entry started outside with lines for metal detectors/belongings scan and then ticket scan- lines moved quickly. The space was well set up. It's all standing GA. The bar is towards the back wall, gated off for ID checks but stage is in view still. The beers were $10 or $12 per can and I believe cocktails ran the same price. Expensive food and beverage is to be expected at a live show though. There was a merch area set up, restrooms along back side of venue (lines moved pretty quickly) and sound quality in here was great. Awesome lighting display last night too. We had an epic time at Wamu!
Andrew Hoyt
The venue was dope but they had it cut in half and the lines were ridiculous. The show started at 8, which there was just a ghost dj, the bar closed at 915p, and the workers all seemed to literally hate their lives. I bought a water at a stand, went into the bar after waiting 30 mins in line to get to it, and then tried to take my 3/4 fill bottle out of the gate and they wouldn't let me. The show was amazing and the sound was great!
Madison Hamilton
Venue was great. My issues were outside the venue where I was approached 4 different times about my fanny pack. Individuals who I had originally assumed were WAMU employees/security kept insisting I needed to purchase a locker for my small bag. Repeatedly I was told that it was a “clear bags only” event. Fortunately for myself, I looked at the safety and bag regulations of the event center prior to the concert and knew that specifically “fanny packs” were approved along with any clear bags. I argued with one gentleman, who spoke back to me unintelligibly when I referenced the website and asked for contact information for whoever keeps it updated…which I did not get. I decided to test my luck, and what do you know? I simply walked through the metal detector and wasn’t even asked to remove my bag to have it gone through. Thinking back, these individuals were not employees of the theater, but rather employees for the locker place across the street… and judging by the quality of service delivered (if you want to call it that) and the fact that you could buy insurance for said lockers, I wouldn’t feel safe leaving any of my belongings with those people. I am still feeling as if they were trying to take advantage of unsuspecting patrons of the venue.
Amanda
Neat place to see a show. Saw The Strokes play and it was spectacular. General Admission but there are bleacher-type seats in the very back. Two large areas for alcohol which is a plus too.
Miche Mi
Went to a car show there. Elevators weren't easy to find, as I walk with a cane. 25 minute wait at concessions for a coffee. Expensive parking complex.
Shelly Berreman
Horrible for concerts, might be ok for other events. The sound is not good, lines to get in the bar a awful, then when you get in you can't even see the bar. But I will go anyway if I really want to see a band. Dropkick Murphys and flogging Molly were awesome, except the venue
Julie McConnell
My 14 yo son & I saw Jack White. I’ve heard a lot of bad reviews from friends about the sound. I sat in the bleacher seats and my son ran up front. He said it was amazing up front and even though I was in the back, I had a great experience too. Sound was great to me.
corbin talley
We saw Alicia Keys and really enjoyed the show. I love the intimacy of a smaller venue.
Matt O'Neill
Really cool venue, the location is great, well staffed and sounds amazing for how large it is
Sheena Carector
Bad bunny only happens once in a lifetime after hurricane Maria 🇵🇷 thank you it was dream come true #Santurce por Vida …
Michael Zhao
Pretty nice venue, acoustics can be a bit muddled but overall fairly good
Ryan Thrower
It’s always a bummer to find out a band you want to see is playing the WaMu instead of literally any other music venue in Seattle. Its soulless. BUT the band I saw was incredible
Estelle Fay
It was fine, but a little cramped. Other than that, great experience!
Nikita R.
Went to see Louis CK there. While the show itself was amazing, it seemed like the venue would be better for concerts more than stand-up. People were coming and going all the time, which I don't think is really polite.
Ali Vira
Your basic convention center. No major complaints though for our show there seemed to be too few restrooms for the volume of people. I'm unsure if more facilities are opened up for different events.
Anna Stenwick
Decent event venue but lacks that unique atmosphere of some of the other theaters in the area.
Craig Olson
Decent for a large venue. For artists in between Paramount and Key Arena sized venues. Relatively good acoustics and stage views. Stadium style seating furthest from stage.
K Murphy
Great venue!! I have seen many shows here, always a fun time. Alice in Chains was amazing!
pnw max
Lots of space, large ceilings, easy to navigate from floor to concessions and bathrooms. Bleacher area is a ways back, but has always had great views still as well.
Hazen Ellwood
I can't say much for the venue, as I was going moreso for the concert, but I guess if your concern is "does this place make their concert experiences better?" The answer is yes.
The inside is super easy to navigate, the staff are efficient and helpful. The show I went to had some of the most creative visuals you'll ever see and it was all pulled off flawlessly.
Entries are barred without proof of vaccination or negative COVID test, so you can get as personal as you want with your fellow music nerds with no guilt!
Sarah Kennedy
I would like to start by saying I was expecting a much larger venue. The size really did make the performance more intimate. All staff I encountered, especially the ushers, went above and beyond my expectations.
David G
Great venue. The last time I was here was before the pandemic when there was no seating on the main floor. Now with th seating, you get a reserved spot, which was nice. Arrive before the opener, it is hard and confusing finding your seat when all the lights are off.
Rodica Torres
Amazing experience. Love Arjona and his music
Jacari Hill
Thus is a great place to have a concert.
Ashlee
Not too big. Not too small. Clean. Enjoyed a great show. Definitely will be attending more events as they come up there. Wu-Tang forever!!
Bee (Maddi)
It was an amazing concert. I went and saw my favorite singer NF and it was incredible
Alexander Matviychuk
Excellent venue. Had a good time and didn't get hassled 🥳 …
Mike Forsythe
The sound was better than I expected. I had a great time!
Megan Bell
Saw Zeds Dead there. Was amazing..
Jazmun Guilford
Boo Seattle was fun. Great DJ's

It's definitely better than Showbox SODO any day for a big-venue concert area, but the SODO time restrictions on concerts make them hard to enjoy since they can't play past 11pm no matter the day. It makes the concert you just spent $50/ticket on not seem so great since it feels cut short. However, that's not a knock on WAMU directly, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't affect the experience.
Diana Wandler
Attended car show
Was able to sit in a similar vehicle that we have on order
Vasily R
Went to see sumo and sushi here and had a great time. The place is vast, restrooms are clean, drinks were cheap.
Logan Roberts
Parking is a bit of a pain, but it seems like a decent venue. Bathrooms hella clean.
Jaymon Hirsh
Every event has been great that I've attended. Juice world and wekfets car show
Finn McSherry
Perfect theater for concerts. Parking is somewhat hard so just Uber
Wesley hoover
I had the pleasure to see a couple of shows at this venue and it was amazing, I can't wait to return again. I work as a stagehand and get to see plenty of shows. I think wamu is perfect for a medium sized venue and the sound is always perfect and even better it's indoors so no need to worry about the Seattle rain or cold breeze!
Maxine Lo
Saw Ben Platt perform. I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house.
Kirk Chantraine
Pretty soulless space with weak sound, but they book some incredible acts! Surprised they call it a theatre. Very nice bartenders and well kept though.
Erin Webber
Super organized and easy to navigate. Safe, clean, and fun
Praneeth Mandavilli
Concert energy low, semi timid crowd, prossibly because this is PNW and because band ideas semi depressing themes. Security manager understood out predicament after showing that the venue would not check for vaccine cards but did anyways saying the band requested it. They got to update this on the website so the peoples can go sway back and forth, slightly dead inside
Disconnected AV
Huge venue, good sound, could have had nicer seating that was more spaced out, unclear why the floor seating has shared cup holders. The bar area is huge too, definitely a good venue for large tours and bigger artists.
Leise Kendall
We attended Ace Comicon for our second year. Amazing!!
Ben
Saw portugal the man here it was Hella tite. Medium size venue.
Ivy G
Great place to see concerts! The floor seats are the best if you wanna find a nice deal get a seat on sections D & E still close to the stage and reasonable prices!
Ashley K
Great space for a concert with nice bar sections. Loved that general admission was standing area or seats, so we could be in the pit but also take time out to sit in the back.
Nathan Friend
Show up early for shows. Especially if they're games going on at the same time as a concert. Couldn't even park in the wamu theater parking garage because of the Sounders game, and missed half the show just looking around for parking. Also gave up on getting a beer there because the lines didn't seem to move at all.
Nick
Great place to see a concert. Drinks aren't terrible. Price is good.
Michael Tarbert
Band was great, but the acoustics of the WAMU tend to cut all reverb, creating kind of a lonely concert feel.
iamkazzam
Decent acoustics for shows, plenty of space to dance, line in is typically pretty fast getting in. Drinks are a bit over priced, No Re-entry or smoking areas
Not Shown
Based on my experience here, the theater itself was good overall. Not ginormous, but not small either. Various exits, restrooms, etc. within. A lot of staff members around; customer service was fine. Would recommend and most likely return here again.
Sarah Noelle
Venue was great once we got inside but while waiting outside the lines were unclear and lacking in direction. Other than that, it was a wonderful experience.
Miriam McCabe
Had a great time! Covid precautions were in place and we felt comfortable being out! The sound for the first band was terrible but after that it was a really amazing show!
Daniel
Rezz concert was great, sound system seemed a little sub-par.
Aubrey R.
It was an amazing experience going to see hozier in concert. The mood was great and they changed the colors accordingly to the mood of the artist. It is all general admission so make sure to come early to wait. There is usually vendors near the line to buy food or drinks. MAKE SURE TO BRING A CLEAR BAG!!! They don't allow anything else please do. The staff was really nice. The building has decent air conditioning but it doesn't help when you're in the pit and moving around so it's really hot! But we had a great time and I loved it!
Kala Short
I've only been to WaMu a few times but I like how clean it is and how helpful the staff/volunteers always are. Pretty great venue.
Chrisshanda Sisk
Rod Wave, it was so much fun and my kids enjoyed themselves as well. I just feel as a mother it would be nice to have a place for kids away from smoking specially if the event is something they are allowing all ages.
ProjectGibix
Absolutely killer spot for a concert. Though you'll have to fight lots of traffic if you're planning on coming here. Make sure to plan ahead of time.
Chadwic
Good venue. Screens on each side for the close ups.
Great camera crew, sound and lighting as well.
Bar inside is expensive but that's to be expected.
Place looked clean and the staff seemed nice.
Had a good time.
Pay parking is super close.
They are thorough with their security screenings without dehumanizing you.
Geovanni Zamora-Yanes
Been going here for a few years, it's really fun in regards to how unique they make the shows. They have a few different stages and many bars. The bathrooms are also super clean and don't make you feel like you're in a grimy place. Although they have a zero tolerance for re-entries. So don't expect to be allowed back in if you decide to get some fresh air.
Susan Still
Attended a conference in May ‘22. Venue is centrally located between Mariner and Seahawk stadiums. It is highly configurable, accessible and clean.
Krystal Watson
Great location, easy to navigate, and loved that there was Starbucks inside.
Trent Bann
Great Venue with amazing sound. There's not a single bad place to be and entrance and lines are very well managed.
Hollie B
Very clean, very efficient, and the sound quality were awesome.
Troy Topp
Pretty good venue for shows.
Daina Shea
Have been there for only hockey, but can only imagine any event it will perfect. Not a bad seat in the house
Nazneen Malik
I love the space. They had an amusement park ride inside once. That's how huge it is. I've been to several events here, Odesza, freak night etc. Parking is a hassle around here. I would take a taxi. We checked out the VIP lounge too last year. The view was amazing. The sound is great. I'll warn you they have open bathroom stalls. That's just how it is.
Christopher Ruiz
Really spacious venue, kind of sterile so don't expect anything cozy. Sound system is good and loud. Bar doesn't except vertical IDs. No bags unless they are clear
K K (Chewy71)
Great venue with a lot of room. There are always plenty of staff around which helps the environment feel comfortable and safe. Security lines are always very quick. I wish there were more locations to get water as you sometimes have to cross the whole crowd, but that is a small irritation.
Seth Meisel
saw Gojira / Deftones show at WaMU theater . Lots of space. Lots of options to watch the show in the beer garden if you don't wanna be in the mosh pit.
Tanta
Big venue recently went for BOO! had a great time was neat to see 3 stages all playing different types of edm even had one in the parking garage which was my favorite wamu events are always worth checking out while in seattle
Robert Holsberry
The mixed seating/floor General Admission format for tonight's alt-J show was perfect.
Amanda Steinbacher
Excellent venue for rock shows, amazing sound proof wall, nice location- wish there was more parking but, it is Seattle!
Paula M
FLUME- TICKET FOR SALE cheap got the wrong city (smh) Facebook: Paula Madrid from Denver co
Enzo D (Learn With Me)
The theater is okay. The acoustics are not great for a concert. It is nice that the venue is sized well so you can see everything even from the back.
The entrance was a mess. It was more like a free for all than an organized security screening. It was also really irritating that there was no signage of no bags for screening. It caused many people to have to go back.
Marissa Bruno
I really like this venue! I had never been here before but was blown away at how huge it was. Given that it was more of a convention space than theater - it wasn't the most aesthetically pleasing (like at the Paramount). However, it holds a lot of people are it fantastic for concerts. I saw Chance the Rapper here in October and thought the sound was great, the venue people were friendly, and the space was big enough that I wasn't be squished by folks in the crowd.
Steven S
This venue is way too strict with their policies. No bags, everything has to be clear, no masks even if you can take them off. Lack of communication for photo OP so we ended not being done till showtime. The band was good though and the venue was clean. The service was hit or miss, one nice guy and one not so nice at the merchandise booth.
Jason T. Williams
We went there for the ACE Comic Con, and it was amazing!! We had so much fun meeting some of the Hollywood celebrities and getting their autographs. The staff was super friendly and helpful to the extent that we really thought on the ride home that they were the nicest staff we've ever seen at a Comic Con. The venue was well laid out and easy to get familiar with.
psych0
went to joji on the 6th, best night ever. loved the ac
Kristin Olsen
Amazing was lucky enough thanks to one of my sons and his wife to see flogging molly and dropkick murphy recently.
Orion O'Malley
Not my favorite venue but the acoustics are on point. In general I favor venues that are smaller where you get a more personal experience. However most of the big names in music end up performing here so you’ll likely find yourself in the crowd at some point.
Ruth Kirschner
I had a ball being with my kids today we had fun
A Toaster
Not my ideal kind of venue for a concert, where it's typically standing room only on a concrete floor. As much as I like having random sweaty teenagers bumping up against me and stinking up the place with weed (despite rules against smoking), I'll opt for some place with real seating and better policy enforcement in the future.
Sam Dainard
It's a convention hall so not the most interesting place to see a show, lots of space.
Drinks are expensive even by captive crowd prices and card ONLY. They do have weird reverse ATMs for this purpose.
Erich Gallant
Go here all the time. Great venue. Kinda spendy but well worth it. Love the EDM shows the most. Good stuff.
Connor Joyce
Outstanding setup for an EDM concert. They have a lot of rules but it was very well organized and had lots of room. Definitely will be excited to see another show in the future here!
doomy “doomy” doomshire
Typical bass show at wamu had a good time however water refill stations would have been nice as the 2 water fountain lines were not even moving
Rajnesh Joshi
Great theatre, provides good food, seating, security and clean washrooms. Although the food is really pricey so if you're looking to eat there you better bring quite a bit of money, about $18 for a meal if I remember correctly. As well, to begin the show everyone that is not sitting in the bleachers must sit on the ground. Overall, its a decent place but just some things that don't make it perfect.
Eitan Levi
Very large concert venue. Each time I've gone, it's been general admission throughout the theatre including some first-come/first-served seating. It's great for larger shows as there's lots of room to stand and the sound is usually pretty decent.
I do wish the concessions had better beer options, though -- the prices are very high for some very mediocre drinks.
Don Spittler
Nice and big Theater with lots of screens
Elise Coulombe
Drove here from Vancouver for a concert and I really liked the venue. Great, large open spaces that fit lots of people. The bathrooms are worth checking out.
The only let down was the security. They only let clear bags into the theatre so you either have to bring a clear bag (which are hard to find) or put your stuff in a locker across the street for $15. My family decided to use the locker which was a little sketchy but kept out stuff safe. They let you keep your wallet, phone and little things like that, just not purses or backpacks.
Kaeleigh Daza
Concert was good but they need to watch more in the crowds there was so much pushing. No spaces and a few high/drunk kids causing problems. On a huge note never pay to be near stage just pay for the seats so that if your pregnant you don't get little drunk teens in your face like I did.
Karen ePage
WaMu theater is Fantastic for concerts & events! Well organized venue! Metal detectors & bag search prior to entering. Lots of concession stands to accommodate the crowd. Bathrooms are clean & plentiful! Kudos for that!
Within the theater there's an enclosed bar to allow adults to enjoy beer, etc, while not allowing minors access to alcohol.
Standing room only toward the stage... Seats toward the back.... Seats are first come first serve... No reserve seating.
Lighting and acoustics are pretty good...
Parking is easy and reasonably priced.... between $10 - $15 depending which lot you go to... Great venue all around!
Haile Cook
Attended a Glass Animals concert here. The venue was very clean, had great acoustics, and a surprising array of food options. Layout was unique, with lots of space to work with. Attendees here were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the line for check in was much faster than I expected.
A. R.
Very wide range location, but due to there ever changing lay our, it's challenging to understand your lay out beforehand. The bands are what makes it. Not the location.
Marcus Martinez
I had a pretty good experience going to the Kevin Gates show here. We got there a little after doors opened and didn't wait very long in line to get in. They offered beer, wine, and cocktails, a little spendy but pretty much what you'd expect from a venue like this. All in all a great experience and I enjoyed the show
Ampy Caballero
Love it was and Awesomeness experience
Chayanne desde el alma tour 2 💙💚💖😍😘 …
byron moles
Nice venue. Lots of open areas for those that get claustrophobic. Huge bar area and lots of restrooms, rarely a wait. The audio is pretty good given the size and layout of the theater. The merch guys are very fast and efficient.
Alex Maldonado
Fantastic venue with a really balanced sound system. Not too much bass, but just enough.
Anna M
It's not my favorite venue, I like the Showbox better for EDM shows, but it's good. It's deeper than the show box so you end up not having as good of a view from the back. Restrooms are pretty nice though and there are water fountains too. Sometimes there's general admission seating, but not always.
smmydvr
Parking always a drag in Seattle, but the venue is appointed with a nice bar and seating area. The venue is easily changed for each event, and the show I saw had black curtains around the perimeter of the floorr with a grandstand seating at the rear for people to sit down. Could easily handle any size event, very adaptable venue.
Li-Shuan Chen
Like what most people say, the aesthetics probably aren't its strong suit, but the space is large, acoustics aren't bad and they have great artists come through this venue! Love it because there's always food options outside too (hot dogs and the like)
Helen Ell Tran
I came here for GE2 and it was fun. Huge place!
Andrew Z
Personally this is an alright venue. Not really the best layout for festivals in my opinion. I have been to a couple 1 stage shows in the past that were awesome but lately I can't really say I have. I really think this is due to venue as the same thing at the tacoma dome with the layout that can be done there is much better.
Tara Shipley
Parking was expensive, food vendors were ill prepared. Had an attitude about making change for $100 bill but with the outrageous prices they charge they should be ready. Acoustics in the venue were fine, seating in the back was okay. We really wished people would stop constantly running back and forth but that has nothing to do with the venue.
Gerard Tangalan
B00 2022 totally God tines and great vibes
Bryce Paine
We saw a show here. The theater is really nice and they have two bars. However, you cannot drink on the foor and have to stay inside the fenced area to drink alcohol. There is also seating in the back on the balcony which is nice to be able to see if you don't want to push up all the way to the front. There is also food stands in the back near the restrooms if you want to grab fries and sit in the stands.
Lauren J. Barnhart
Excellent space for concerts. There is plenty of room, so it doesn't feel over-crowded, and there are lots of areas where the view of the stage is terrific. The drinks are delicious. Also, very clean bathrooms, which is rare for a concert venue!
Nathan Prescott
I went here for the first time to see Die Antwoord! This is a great venue! Easy to get to, ample parking and a ton of room to move around inside. It was a really fun experience and would highly recommend seeing a show here!
Something I thought was nice as well was the handicapped area. They had a raised stage just behind the main crowd on the floor for people in wheel chairs. I thought that was awesome so they can enjoy the shows as well! :D
Melodi
Went to see Bastille with my best friend and had a great time.
Adam Mesa
It is meh, the bar entrance set up is trash, but once you get it it's easy to get a drink. Bathroom is so difficult to use. Everybody and their mothers is in the queue trying to do god knows what in the bathrooms. Bathrooms decently clean with no piss smell.
Jordan Henderson
The acoustics are good and stage effects are nice but the size is actually a bit awkward. The restrooms/concessions are only on one side so it's not very convenient and the bar sections are farther away from the stage than would be preferable. I just think that if you're going to be in the bar spending money on overpriced drinks (beers were 10.25 with only two options) then you should be rewarded by either having a raised view or being closer. The lines for getting in also could've been organized better so that people knew more what to do. We had a long line for a while and then were to told to spread out so people could easily cut in front of you if they wanted.
Dianna
Great theater lots of floor room but I guess that depends on the act. It is a smaller theater, though, overall. Really clean!!! Surprisingly clean tbh. Really annoying that I couldn't take my purse in, and I had to pay 15 bucks for a see through Fanny pack and a locker. I don't get why they couldn't just check the contents of my purse like every other venue I've ever been to. Seems like just a money grab to me.
Ellen Kee
We saw Leon Bridges perform at the WaMu theater and had a blast. There were open bleacher seats and plenty of space on the floor. They also were serving cocktails and soft drinks at two bar areas (over 21) on the floor.
Roberto Andino
Very spacious and easy enough to navigate. Plenty of accommodations for anyone who needs to sit, but plenty of room to stand. I was really impressed with the tech that I saw during the Of Monsters and Men concert
Buggy
Great theater! Clean, ample space and looked very nice for the sumo and sushi show! Thanks for a great time!
Taylor M.
Lot parking is easy to find before events for a reasonable price and every concert I’ve been to is well-managed, with clean facilities. I have seen Snoop Dogg here three times and A$AP Mob once, with all shows having great food selection too.
Johnnie McAllister
So many mixed reviews of this venue. Attended first and probably only concert here. Line up is on Occidental on the west side of the bldg. For every set of scanners you see you can form a line as they open several gates at the same time. DO NOT stand in one long line. There will be bag check and everything out of your pockets so pick your line carefully. After you get through security there will be another line at the entry doors. Of which there are four so make more lines not one long one. Once inside the venue is a gigantic open space with curtains to warm it up and deaden the sound. The stage is massive and high so sight is ok. The seating is WAY back. Concessions is exorbitantly expensive. $5 water bottle....etc. But you CAN have water and soda in bottles on the floor and they let you have the lid! Alcohol must stay in the bar. Sound was sub par as bldg is exposed steel and concrete so everything echoes and bounces around. Security seemed to be on top of crazies and handled a punk crowd efficiently. Good venue if parents want to sit while kids are on the floor as the bleachers are right in the middle. Light rail and lots of parking at Stadium lots. Bottom line, huge venue for large shows but really really poor sound. That is why I would not choose to go back.
Nik Harris
I like this venue a lot but wish they would loosen the grips on their alcohol prices. I am pretty sure alcohol at events here is expensive due to the venue not the event organizers.
It's also usually cold so if you get cold easily bring a warm jacket.
My girlfriend would like to add that locking the women's bathroom stall doors open is a pretty big invasion of privacy. Plus who wants to see others pooping. That's just weird.
Stephanie Duenas
It was so cold inside during the show
Matthew Reynolds
Best night of my life hands down, spacious area. Great vibes from everyone and pump was the highlight of my night.
n k
Always enjoying the space here and the shows
Bob May
The overall facility was outstanding as we attended a Monday night concert for Dua LIPA. The venue was uniquely setup whereas everyone probably up to several thousand people could stand by the stage and watch her and seating was more towards the back where we sat.... the refreshment concessions were separate from the merchandise concessions and there was plenty of room to move about. My usual biggest complaints are the restrooms but they were very clean well stocks and not packed.
I have never been to the WAMU theater before but I like the close in feel period. I also want to comment and let people know the security was excellent, there was really no abuse from the crowd and everyone was having a good time.
My only criticism was there could have been more communication outside as people got into lines that went nowhere. Once they open the security gates it was like a rush of cattle to the slaughterhouse and was a bit confusing but I guess that's just part of the overall Concert Experience. The security checkpoint was well handled and professionally run and you didn't feel like a criminal being asked to go through the scanner and empty your pockets.
I would definitely attend other events there.
Felix Cumpleaños
Great venue in terms of acoustics and talent of provided entertainment. Beware staff pro staffing. It is easy to get screwed over by them or for them to ruin a good night. I've seen it happen. But generally a great time here every time. Just go with someone who has been to an event here so they will know what to do and what to avoid.
Jacob R
Saw the Raconteurs here. I just honestly don't think it's that good of a concert venue, it's honestly too big and the sound is washed out especially for rock music. It's a good venue for the car and RV shows, but it is a good example of how lacking Seattle is for good midsized concert venues.
Vanessa Caballero
I love this venue!! The place is spacious with plenty of bathrooms. Food is a little pricey, but that is supposed to be expected. A great place that offers folks a bar, as well as, an open floor with seats readily available in the back.
johnchen0213
Best theater in Seattle. Even better than most theater in the West coast. Very spacious and clean. Bathroom is large enough so that there's no huge wait line. Coat check doesn't take 30minutes either, Which is nice
Caleb Fleisher
place is insanely huge. hard concrete floor = hard on feet and knees, but there is some riser seating for anyone to take advantage of. sound is mediocre (REALLY depends on where you're standing) expensive drinks. it's... fine, is rather be at Showbox but you can't beat the capacity here.
Jesús Flores
All you need for enjoy your stay at home is here.
Kaleigh Laurino
Super cool and clean venue. Nothing super fancy but had a good GA area.
Aaron Wix
Cool place for a concert! Really enjoyed the venue seeing Pentatonix. The far seating wasn't too far away. Ample room between isles even though the chairs were fairly close together. A few neat areas exist outside the main theater for food courts, art halls and exhibits.
david d
We had a great time seeing Nothing More open for Ghost. The staff were all nice and security made sure that VIP early entries got through first. I've been to a few venues where that wasn't the case.
Preston Williams
Decent venue. Regular very expensive drink and food. Very strict no bag policy they were making people throw away their fanny packs. Really enjoyed the show. Oh and if you're wondering there was hella people smoking weed barely anybody got caught.
Jim B
Great performance by Brian Adam's. Lack luster setting for a concert.
Joe Fitzpatrick
I read some reviews that security was very overly strict, but couldn't agree less. We saw Rezz here who went on around 11. Doors were at 8, and we weren't concerned with getting front row. We showed up at 10, and security took about 45 seconds to get through. The most insane part of this place was the coat check! The line to get coats on the way out looked like a line for a bottle of the last water on Earth for people to save their starving dehydrated families. Luckily we didn't have coats, so we snuck out the back.
Elise Vardeman
love the venue but the security is wack sometimes! at a concert my friend was accused of smoking because people were passing pre rolls around us and they pulled him out of the crowd, they asked for his ID and were extremely hostile to an 22yr old in a legal state, told us they were kicking us out then proceeded to run off with ID for almost 20 minutes.. like just LET US LEAVE. super wack
Devin Burnett
Wow great venue for music the curtains and lighting make this a really great atmosphere
Lea Lavalley
Saw the 1975, security was lovely 😁 …
Heather Frye
Good place to see a show but their purse policy is absurd. Clear bags only and Personally I think it's a scam to get people to pay $10 to put their belongings in a locker during the show. I sincerely doubt that there has ever been any travesties due to someone bringing in a purse that is not clear. Just search, people. This is becoming ridiculous.
Laura Marie Rivera
That time the Mayor in the US Secretary of Health and Human Services came to see me get my vaccine!
M Sinclair
Staff was pleasant when they could have been...not. packed house. Lots of clean bathrooms, snack bar, Starbucks and even a well-staffed (but, ahem, pricey and "minimalist") bar. Everything seemed very well-done for a large event.
Statia Ruffin Masters
Been going to Seahawks games for many years. Love it here!
Alex Sargeant
The best place in Seattle to watch a dog show.
Jaime Garcia
Loved the location Chayanne preformed that night and he was great !!!!!! Bring him back to Seattle great singer!!!
Belle E
Solid Gen Admin set up. Pretty good sound within the theater.
Mac Dizzle
Love the WAMU theater. Been here more time then I can count. Lots of room and diversity of concerts, road shows, events... Ect last time I was here the concert was amazing. They don't allow re-entry or smoking for most concerts, which is pretty bogus if you are paying 60 dollars or more. Aside from expensive drinks and expensive tickets the productions are typically worth it. I'm not sure if this atmosphere is better then the smaller venues or older theaters but it's a great place to see a large scale show here.
Jacob Tully
A very large space, but seemingly not setup well for concerts. The seats which were on risers for the show I saw were quite a ways from the stage, as were the 3 bar areas serving alcohol. On the upside, tons of GA standing room, but that also makes for a strange concert going experience. Sound quality was also not great given the cavernous, metalic space.
Marc G
It's a big empty hall with bleacher style seating but with seats not a bench. I was expecting a theatre with seating all around like a house of blues in Vegas or an Orpheum theatre in Vancouver which I enjoy more. It's WaMu Theater but it's really just a space for whatever, they could have a motorcycle show in there if they wanted so having theater in their name was misleading for me. The concert I saw was good and it sounded fine so I'm not complaining just pointing that out for people.
Some places you go for the entertainment and sometimes the venue itself is worth a go... This is not a place you go because you like a big massive concrete hall, it just has no ambiance, no flavour, no penache! Ok maybe slightly disappointed to disappointed with this place. In no rush to return, but I would with the right band.
Meaghan K
This place is okay for what it is: a huge venue. An enormous, stadium style, open floor venue.
Bars are set up on the floor to the side and fenced off (if 18+), and/or outside the actual concert area. Merch and food/drinks are stadium style outside the concert. There is coat check as well, no issues with staff. Bathrooms are huge and relatively clean.
Tip: skip the mile long five dollar water line by getting an iced starbucks and filling up with water fountain water later. Eat beforehand at the food trucks outside.
There is some stadium style seating in the back that fills up quickly. I've heard at some shows they extend these more but I haven't seen it. If crowds aren't your thing you can hang on the periphery but you may have difficulty seeing the stage. People usually are smoking because it's just too large for staff to moderate, if that bothers you.
If you're seeing a relatively popular band, don't expect to get close unless you're willing to elbow your way through.
Summary: This is not the place for an intimate, small show. Come prepared to be on your feet the whole time.
Western Ego
I saw Panic! here a few weeks ago and was pretty disappointed with the venue. If you love the smell of body odor and the lack of regulated temperature, this is the perfect place for a concert. The sound system was excellent. I would have rated 1 star, but the experience out weighed its cons.
Larry Churchwell
Went to the Seattle Home Show here. The show was lame, but the venue is fine. They have a little wine bar in the back that is fun to sit at and rest for a few minutes. They usually have some entertainment there.
Calder Brauchla
Went to a Jack White show at WaMu. They got everyone in quickly and safely. There were at least three bars, two of which you could watch the stage from. Sound quality was overall really good.
Amazing show and a good venue.
Abel Foundation
The versatility of WaMu Theater to host any number of shows and festivals indoors is incredible, however the quality and performance of equipment and schedules for shows that are put on should really have some sort of quality control.
Parking is always easy if you pay for one of the stadium garages, street parking is a nightmare and not recommended.
Mad Brad
I can’t agree with most of the reviews here. This really is not an ideal venue for a concert. Noisy. I’ve heard much worse, but I’ve heard much better too.
Sun E
Really cute and chill theatre. I had an AMAZING time watching Alt-J. I'm so glad they came to the WaMu theatre because despite how small it looked, it fit so many people not only in seats but in the pit. Hung out in the pit for ages before I got tired and sat down, there was a great view either way so I was happy.
Leah Danzig
Ugh....such a weird venue. Cant even explain why though! Lol it feels like you're going into a mega church or something.
I went to see a concert there. And you know that buzzing and energy in the air when you walk into a venue...well it's not there! Like even the music playing from the speakers before the artist went on was really low. You would think it would be a good thing because you can talk to your buddies or whoever. Nope. Was just lame. I think the place is so damn well insulated. Maybe that's what it is.
But come time for the show. The sound was lacking. Again...ugh. 😂
Kayli Robles
Wamu is great, but they upped their security unreasonably and I waited in line for over an hour during Deadbeats. Longer than I waited at Freaknight or any concert for that matter. They also dont let you buy water bottles with caps! Seriously? That's too far, we are being treated like little kids. I had to chug my water so I could put the bottle in my bag and then I was dehydrated and incredibly thirsty the whole night. Other than that, the concerts I've gone too have been really well put together. The stages are awesome. Wamu also does a great job of setting up the area so that the concert doesnt feel too empty or too packed even if it is.
Taylor Christensen
I went to a Why Don't We concert and had a great time! The actual place where the concert happened was unbelievably small and we were so happy that even though we were in the bleachers we still were sooooooooo close! So cool!
Dee Boss
I've been there in the past for several USC events and every time was always great. It's a great venue in everything is pretty accessible. Can't say so much for USC staff and some of their contracted security but that has nothing to do with Walmart theater. If there's an event that you're looking to go to and it's at the WaMu theater trust that it will be a good one with good parking.
Paul Alexander
What a great venue for an event. The area is well maintained and is kept clean and orderly. The staff handled security and the needs of those visiting impressively. I look forward to coming back here again soon.
Jacy Christensen
Great mid size concert venue. Be sure to read the website carefully; new rules govern the size of purse you can carry. My wallet barely made the cut!
Joe
Excellent security and floor space for dancing. Comfortable bleachers in the back if you get tired. Great sound. Only downside is the drinks are a bit simple.
Dominique Smith
My first time coming here for the home show!
Brian Day
Really nice experience will go back for rezz in may. But i waited 45 minutes in parking garage to get out, on third floor.
Florin Cojocaru
great venue but make sure you find parking before the shows
Calvin Osborn
I've had the luxury of experiencing quite an array of events at this venue. From concerts to pre-game events and even home shows. The staff is usually friendly and on point keeping area clean. Try to eat and drink prior to going there because Food and beverages will cost you an arm and a leg.
Michelle Pendergrass
There are no signs to tell people that there are 2 bars behind the curtain-where you can here the music and see the band.
Acoustics are not perfect, but not awful either.
No reentry, lame.
Aaron Boote
Just saw Violent Femmes and Flogging Molly. Great venue located in between the Seahawks and Seattle Mariners stadiums. Convienient parking garage.
Lisa Ellsworth
One of the best venues I ever been to for a concert however they need to get more places to purchase T-shirts bc the lines were sooooooo long we would have missed alot of the concert standing in line! First concert I've been to & not purchased one!
J. Ojeda
The theater is nice, the bad is they wont let you get any drinks to the stage, they close the bar so early
Мэтьov MATT Мэтьov DEEDS
DROPKICK MURPHYS AND FLOGGING MOLLY..
Cool Irish folk punk.
THE WAMU Theater is a really great setup and it works very well.
My only issue is everything ends by 1100 pm 2300 it just ALWAYS FEELS WRONG TO BE LEAVING THE CONCERT, RAVE SO EARLY.
Avi Mizrahi
Not the best place to see a show, but when the sound system is mixed well it at least sounds good. Not much for atmosphere and gets pretty crowded unless you are in the bleachers. Beer selection is horrible and pretty overpriced for the options.
Jennifer Taylor
While waiting 3 hours to enter tbe venue, outside bathroom facilities would have been nice! Hundreds of people waiting and not even one toilet to use... Crowd control when finally getting to enter was a joke, too...luckily we linked arms so we didn't fall and get trampled...it was literally that scarey....
Brahman Levi Waitsle
Good place to catch your favorite artists or go rave. It's indoors, spacious, and has a pretty decent vibe to it. Event staff working inside are usually decent, staff outside tend to be total dick's. Parking is pricey, usually 20$, unless it's a Hawks game which is ridiculously expensive.. if you're going for the Hawks, take the light rail to the stadium stop, hang out before & after the game and get shwastey... Beer for two and light rail together will be less expensive than parking a single car... & really it's not just there, but anywhere near CenturyLink. Anyways get rowdy guys
Ray Fu
Came for sumo+sushi. The event was well organized and the venue was very clean
Brendan Morrison
Ok, I have been to a few concerts at this venue and it was fine, but my issue is not with the venue, it is with the name. See, I used to be a part of Washington Mutual when it was a bank. I even opened my first savings account at this bank. However, this bank was eventually bought by Chase. I continued to use this bank for a short time, but then I opted to join a local credit union instead. The real issue here is why is it still called WaMu Theater and not Chase theater. How could they get rid of their banks, but keep the theater? That seems like a poor management of funds. I mean there is a lot of money in banks, especially in the safes. I didn't see any safes at WaMu Theater. It mostly just appears to be a large open concrete warehouse type place where events are held. Anyway, R.I.P. WaMu Bank.
Lydia S
Employees were friendly and helpful, but there was really poor sound at the last show I attended, which was frustrating. WaMu has a bag policy with 12x12x6 clear bag or a 4x6 wristlet allowed only, but there were vendors were set up outside with lockers available for rent.
Randy Myers
Went here for a trance music event called Bliss, and had a great time!
Garrett Landry
The one concert I've been to here was a fun time. Never expected them to fit so many people inside. But there is a good view from all the angles. Check out a concert there if you get a chance.
Tuan Le
Great experience but closes to early
Darryl Collins
I enjoyed how they transformed the space to show the art for the fair.
Serina Gee
Came here for Freaknight. They set up pretty well given the limitations of the shape and size of the theater. I think acoustics could have been better, and they took the stall doors off of all the women's bathrooms, which made it really awkward and embarrassing to use.
Igor Babichev
Visited WaMu for the first time during Arctic Monkeys show, was really amazed by sound quality! Also, entire venue was general admission, so you can choose to sit or stand if you want
Miranda O'Neill
Saw Deadmau5 here, sound is way better than it used to be. Lines were quick and easy. Drinks were $12 a piece and pretty much water but other than that it was awesome.
Jack Miller
I went to the Seattle boat show here. The venue is really not big enough for this event, with the consequence that it's too spread out, and requires a great deal of walking and a good map. I assume it's here because there's no other Seattle venue big enough to do this in January.
Emmanuel Contreras
I saw Logic and Beast Coast preform live and it was amazing. The venue had great options for food and drink. The environment was clean and there was space for everyone.
Michael Hampton
Great big space for concerts, some bleachers and some floor seats. The food, drinks and alcohol during the show were crazy expensive but they had a good selection. I would go to more shows if they were here.
Keith Campo
Was surprised at how clean the venue was even after several hours. It was also very quick in getting in. Enjoyed the night
Madison Hart
Couldn't buy drinks at the show because I had a vertical ID, and I've never been turned away with it in CA, but I guess that's just a thing. Still had a really good time, glad there was plenty of seating
Logan McCallie
Went to the Arctic Monkeys show here and it was amazing. Some people say the sound quality is bad here and I could hear it in the opener but I think it's mainly the sound engineers because I didn't notice it all in the actual show
Michael & Lisa Ahlen
We were at the RV show. Facilities were clean and kept up. Nice layout.
Alice Freist
This place did not feel like a concert hall. It felt like a high school gym converted temporarily for a band performance, with similar acoustics. Still loved the show!
Rachel Petersen
Super awesome venue!
James Soper
Went to a punk rock show, nice venue, really like how they have it laid out, wandered around a bit during the show and there wasn't a bad place to be, will definitely be coming back for other shows
Mark Cooley
Convenient, good layout for this show. Has many configurations and the sound isn't always great. Very loud as it's a concrete box, just not the best quality.
Collin Black
Really cool venue, one of the best I've been to in Seattle. Also here's a picture of my friend. He is cool.
Bella Official
The WaMu Theater is awesome this place is very cool. It's easy to find and it's a sweet place to visit with your family and friends there's all kinds of things that happen here , so many different types of event's . Concert's , boat show's , car show's , and so many more it's lots of fun here . I love this place #love
Nicholaus Morris
Terrible acoustics. Great show
Rachel Dekman
WaMu is one of my favorite venues in Seattle. It allows the artist a huge space and to really express creative freedom. Due to size, you dont feel cramped. Acoustics at WaMU are also very great
derek julian
This place is hit or miss. I went to Resolution there and the lines were insane, the bathrooms didn't have stall doors, and overall, it was all disorganized. It's been like this at other festivals too.
Steven Partridge
Decent venue, but the stage was so low I had a hard time seeing the performance. It could have just been that show though, which was moved there from marymoor park to accommodate more people.
Mika Manning
This is my favorite venue. It's so nice, cool, clean, the breeze they create is good for the USC events they hold there, I wish they held more events like that because it's kinda close to home and such a big venue and good staff.
Dan Newt
Amazing venue that is hugeee!!
Gary Taber
I love this venue! Great place to see a rock show, plenty of space, large easily accessible bathrooms, plenty of bar/food vendors so line wait it minimal.
Mitch Dore
WAMU theater is a great place to see many opportunities and events such as car shows football games soccer games music festivals I highly recommend visiting this at some large event when in town it is a great stadium and area for a venue the prices of the food are quite expensive but it is downtown Seattle where the minimum wage is higher than the rest of the country I definitely approve of the condition of the building it is clean and very nice.
Blanca Duarte
Carin Leon concert!!
Nancy Calos
Attended the Home Show. Not populated, staff was always polite and elevator attendants share a laugh. The show, too much accoutrements, give me more service, give me more info or product to amend my soil. Give me options for DIYers, or variations on services.
Nolan Affleck
I lost my keys at WAMu like a dummy. Lost and found was incredibly helpful and quick to get them back to me.
Alex
The theatre is huge. The sound was so amazing during our concert, it was one of the best experiences I ever had. I love this venue
Alissa
Wamu Theater Employees are so helpful!!! When I went to the why don't we concert my tickets didn't open and they were very helpful on how to get them open A+ rating from me. The venue was large and open the seats were alittle close together on the floor but it still was a good time
Joe Villegas
The stage is great for concerts and conventions alike. I've enjoyed many concerts and car shows here. Some of the EDM audiences here suck though
Gerard Porcello
Great venue and experience!
CJ Johnston
Pretty generic venue. The best thing I can say is they have several large bars so the wait for a drink isn't too long!
paul smith
WAMU theater is also the Century Link Field Event Center. The transformation into theater for concerts is remarkable with stage, some tiered seating, lighting and hanging curtains. Food and drink concessions are available and parking is in the same building.
Keat Shankle
Watched Bring me the Horizon, Underoath, and Beartooth here. Sound was really good for the setup. I would like to see the common area (outside the show) be a little brighter. Very dark.
Tara Muñoz
Saw Flogging Molly and Drop Kick Murphy. Their set up for entrance traffic was terrible. You have to squeeze by the lines of people getting their concert shwag. The beer garden is blocked off from the stage and you can't see the show at all if you want to drink.
Stephen Selby
Arrive early for seating or be prepared to stand. Good place to see acts up close and personal. Fairly well organized, they could handle the metal detector process a little more efficiently.
Jannae Palovich
SO MANY KILLER SHOWS! This venue is huge and weve seen so many awesome shows here and they keep coming! right in the heart of seattle DT! The only beef i have is the staff can be kinda assholes. there are a ton that love all the kids that come for the shows, then there are others that want to ruin everyones night on an ego trip.. the masses always win ;)
Jadranka Keener
Came here to see Leon Bridges and the venue did not disappoint. The acoustics were clear and the venue was not too big nor small for the show. Easy parking nearby.
Clayton Bray
Great venue, should have active janitorial services because there was puke everywhere and the security refuses to take their ear pro off to help you out.
Emery Edwards
Great show! Saw Alt J and it was a visually STUNNING set!
